  • Apex Legends player “heartbroken” after hilariously losing random friend in seconds – Dexerto

Apex Legends player “heartbroken” after hilariously losing random friend in seconds Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player made friends with a random enemy player only to hilariously lose them in a matter of seconds. With thousands upon thousands of different people playing online games each day, sometimes random players make a connection, even if only briefly. Sometimes, a good fight can lead friends and foes to put aside their differences to have a short moment of connection. One Apex Legends player witnessed this firsthand, making friends with a random opponent, only to heartbreakingly and hilariously lose them in seconds. Apex Legends player makes friend with random enemy The video in question comes from the Apex Legends subreddit, where user bruhssell posted the clip with the caption “I’ve never been so heartbroken in this game, rest well soldier.” In the video, bruhssell engages in a fight with an enemy Octane. They’re able to land some solid Wingman shots which would have ended in the enemy’s swift defeat. However, before they can finish off their opponent with a Prowler burst fire, the opposing Octane begins crouching. Noticing their behavior, bruhssell mimics the crouching and heads over to greet their new friend. They immediately drop a Phoenix Kit in an attempt to help their new friend heal up, while the injured player instead drops the Kraber sniper rifle they were carrying. Unfortunately for bruhssel, it seems as though their new friend had other plans for their interaction, and swiftly took out an Arc Star, stuck it to the floor, and jumped on it to end their match. The post gained a lot of traction on the subreddit, with plenty of players loving the hilarious interaction. “The fact that he blew up before he hit the ground made it hilarious,” noted one Reddit user. User Forar put forward his own theory about the enemy Octane and said “He knew he was beaten and chose an honourable path,” referencing how they dropped their Kraber for bruhssel. Regardless of the outcome, it’s clear the Apex Legends community appreciated this hilarious bit of camaraderie between opponents.

  • Apex Legends player has hilarious theory for why SBMM is still in the game – Dexerto

Apex Legends player has hilarious theory for why SBMM is still in the game Skill-based matchmaking continues to wreak havoc in Apex Legends, and one player has shared a rather funny theory for why Respawn Entertainment haven’t shut it off. Skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) has arguably been the most controversial addition to Apex Legends, with a large majority of the vocal player-base calling for Respawn to take it out. No one knows exactly when SBMM was enabled, but there’s been more than enough evidence that it exists, with several developers themselves essentially confirming it and even going as far as to justify it. The reason why so many players don’t like it is that it turns the casual playlist into a ‘sweaty’ game mode, essentially implementing a ranked-style format despite the fact that there’s already a separate ranked mode. Despite all of the complaints, there’s no indication that SBMM will be going away anytime soon, and one player thinks there might be a comical reason for what that’s the case. Reddit user shares funny SBMM theory According to Reddit user DEA_PL’s amusing theory, the reason for why Respawn haven’t turned off SBMM might be because the players themselves are contributing to its seeming success. “Players hate SBMM so they smurf. Respawn sees large uptick in players since SBMM. Respawn has data that shows SBMM works. People made SBMM not go away.” Smurfing, as the user alluded to in the post, is the act of making a fresh new account to avoid matching up with higher-skilled players because the main account is already ranked too high. While the user did label the post as ‘Humor,’ it did get a lot of attention on Reddit, and many took to the comments section to discuss the possibility that there might be some validity to this theory. It wouldn’t be totally out of the question; Respawn themselves have said their SBMM “might need some tuning potentially,” admitting that the system may be flawed in its current state. Regardless, considering how young the game still is, and the SBMM even newer, it’ll take both time and work until the system gets closer to perfection. Until then, players can at least inject some comic relief with funny theories like the one above.

  • Apex Legends player goes viral on TikTok for IRL sliding through super market – Dexerto

Apex Legends player goes viral on TikTok for IRL sliding through super market Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has gone viral on TikTok running and sliding around a store like a Legend in-game. Although it doesn’t look like the most effective way to travel around in real life – it definitely looks fun. There’s a number of reasons why Apex Legends is one of the most popular battle royales in the genre. From its expansive maps to its range of interesting and unique characters, it doesn’t take long for the game to hook you in. A particularly satisfying aspect of the title is its movement mechanics. Anyone that’s played Apex will tell you how fun it is to slide around the map while moving from place to place. So, it was only a matter of time before someone got the incredible idea to start moving and sliding like a Legend in real life. Apex player goes viral on TikTok sliding in a store A thread posted to the Apex Legends subreddit showing a player sliding around a store in real-life has gone viral. At the time of writing, the post has over 8,000 upvotes on Reddit and over 230,000 views on TikTok. The video, originally posted to TikTok by @meaty_yogurt, shows a player performing an impressively accurate example of an Apex Legends slide while browsing a store. He even manages to mimic the run animation of the characters in between his two slides. Read More: Apex Legends Fuse voice actor interview – It’s obvious the person in the video was craving Apex Legends as the TikTok is captioned “When you wanna play Apex Legends but you gotta go Grocery Shopping.” There’s no doubt the player raised a few eyebrows while sliding down the aisle but it’s certainly gone down a treat with the Apex community. We’re not sure this method of travel is going to catch on anytime soon, but there’s no denying it looks likes a lot of fun. Let’s just hope no one attempts to make Pathfinder’s grapple in real life as that experiment may not go as smoothly as the sliding.

  • Apex Legends player goes viral showing how “Warzone players” play Apex – Dexerto

Apex Legends player goes viral showing how “Warzone players” play Apex Respawn Entertainment/ActivisionAn Apex Legends player has gone viral after jokingly showcasing a squad using a Warzone-style strategy in an Apex match. There’s a lot of rivalry between the Apex Legends and Warzone player bases, with both sets of fans often shunning the other title as a worse alternative. While the Warzone community will criticize Apex’s longer TTK and lack of weapon customization, Apex fans will counter that by pointing out Warzone’s hacking issues, abundance of glitches, and inferior movement. At the end of the day, both games have their strengths and weaknesses, meaning it’s all down to personal preference over which title you prefer. Despite this, each community will always joke at the expense of the other. Apex Legends player teases Warzone community A thread posted to the Apex Legends subreddit teasing Warzone players in Apex has garnered over 20,000 upvotes at the time of writing. TheMaddKingg’s viral clip begins with them playing Valkyrie and suspecting that an enemy squad is nearby. After gliding around and looking for a flank, they enter a building and find two players hidden in a corner, avoiding combat and waiting for the endgame. It’s this strategy that led the player to label them as “Warzone players”. In Warzone, it’s a viable strategy to deliberately camp in or on top of buildings, to survive for as long as possible in Verdansk. In Apex, abilities, and movement render such a strategy pointless. Not to mention, this playstyle is ridiculed by players who believe it’s best to play aggressively and look for kills. This jab at the Warzone community was only in jest, but it prompted a lot of Apex Legends players to give their opinion on Call of Duty’s rival battle royale. One user explains that “I’ve tried to play Warzone, but after playing Apex and Titanfall, it’s just plain boring.” Another even blames Warzone’s campers on the layout of the game’s buildings: “The design of most buildings in Warzone heavily favors defenders promoting this camping playstyle.” Perhaps a similar thread, criticizing Apex players, will surface in the Warzone community – we’d love to see a ‘typical Apex player’ moment in Warzone.

  • Apex Legends player gets rude awakening after attempting to “outsmart” game – Dexerto

Apex Legends player gets rude awakening after attempting to “outsmart” game Respawn EntertainmentAn Alter player received some divine retribution from Apex Legends after they tried to sneakily grab some rare loot. Alter, the new Legend introduced in Season 21, can pull off some pretty slick maneuvers thanks to her Void Passage tactical ability that lets her pass through walls and surfaces. From ambushing unsuspecting teams with Crypto to making quick escapes in a firefight, Alter can pull of some pretty crafty feats. Unfortunately, Alter’s abilities can’t replicate Loba’s expertise in stealing, as one unlucky Apex Legends player demonstrated through a Reddit post. A user named ‘Vast_imagination1646’ posted a video with the caption, “Don’t try to outsmart the game. Note taken.” The clip showed the Alter player in the Caustic Treatment POI on Kings Canyon. Upon seeing a Gold Bag locked in the contaminated vault, they cooked up a plan to steal it without unlocking the container first. Using Alter’s tactical, they made a passage through the side of the glass and slipped through right to the Gold Bag locked inside. However, once inside they could not grab the bag. To make matters worse, the game started to treat them as if they were out of bounds and started the 15-second countdown that would eventually lead to their death as they scrambled for a way to get out. Fans in the comments thanked the player for at least testing out the idea. “Thanks to your sacrific for science,” said one fan, while another said, “Now the real experiment begins.” Others simply found the video hilarious based on the reaction to the out-of-bounds timer. “You got desperate like you really were IN the game lol,” said one user. This isn’t the first time that Alter’s Void Passage has broken things in the battle royale. Recently, developer Respawn Entertainment experienced trouble after Alter players tried to teleport into Loot Vaults and Explosive Holds, though those glitches have since been fixed. Needless to say, players looking to steal valuable loot should stick to Loba instead of Alter, should they want to stay alive.

  • Apex Legends player gets revenge on squads of “teamers” boosting in Ranked – Dexerto

Apex Legends player gets revenge on squads of “teamers” boosting in Ranked Respawn EntertainmentAfter realizing two squads were teaming in the final circle of their Apex Legends match, a player decided to dish out their own punishment and dispatch them from the lobby. While the use of hacks in Apex Legends is usually detected by Respawn in a short period of time, there are other forms of cheating that often go under the radar. One of which is teaming, where two squads queue up for Ranked at the same time and group up together, giving them a huge advantage over the competition. This effectively doubles their power in the match and as there’s no third-party software involved, it’s incredibly difficult for the devs to punish. Well, one player ran into a set of teamers in the final circle of their Ranked game, and instead of giving up, they decided to serve up a punishment of their own, eliminating them from the match. Apex Legends player wipes out group of teamers During the final stages of their match on March 28, Reddit user Optimal-Fishing7961 realized that the final two squads in the match had teamed up together. This meant their three-man squad was up against six fully geared players all working as one unit. However, instead of rushing in headfirst, they utilized Caustic’s gas to push the cheaters into an enclosed space. After they’d all grouped up in a small building, Optimal-Fishing7961 chucked their Ultimate into the room and immediately began wiping them out with their Havoc. Before long, both teams had been eliminated and Optimal-Fishing7961 and their squad were granted a well-deserved victory. Without Caustic’s incredible ability to put pressure on enemies and force them out of buildings, it’s hard to know whether the team would have succeeded in this 3v6. Although Optimal-Fishing7961 managed to overcome the odds against teamers, a lot of squads fall short. Hopefully, Respawn can work on ways of identifying these players and punishing them for abusing the method in Ranked, as it’s cheating squads out of well-earned victories.

  • Apex Legends player finds very sneaky Harvester hiding spot – Dexerto

Apex Legends player finds very sneaky Harvester hiding spot Respawn EntertainmentThe Harvester has proven to be a perfect hot drop location in Apex Legends Season 4, with a whole bunch of loot to be found there, and now players have discovered a really sneaky hiding spot that more should probably know about. A number of new locations and map features have been added since the game’s last major update on February 4, some of which have more supply bins spawning there than others. When it comes to the Harvester, there’s a total of 24 supply bins and a boat load of floor loot to be found, meaning that fights are a common occurrence in the early stages of most games at this point of interest. However, a new hiding spot that’s been discovered might be really useful for those looking to avoid enemy contact – or to take an enemy by surprise. There are two really devastating ways of dying at the hands of the Harvester, a massive cylindrical structure that extracts minerals from the ground: either dropping into the lava in the middle of it or running right into its beam from the outset. Though, a new hiding spot, found by Reddit user im_not_EM, allows players to hide right where others may never expect to find them – around the ring that sits just above the molten rock beneath. As seen in the clip below, when careful enough, players can squeeze onto a rail and walk around the circle, which will be pretty useful to know for those who want to hide from danger. It’s unclear as to whether this trick works for players who have been knocked down by enemies, although that could be a really good way of using the rail to hide – when damaged or in a situation where you have to heal up. After all, there’s nothing worse than being knocked down while using a Syringe, Shield Cell or Phoenix Kit. While some players expressed interest in the trick, one wasn’t best pleased about the post. “Damn bro why you gotta show people my spot like that,” they said, to which the poster replied: “This won’t go top [of] hot, trust me.” Whether or not this will be used much more frequently now, having been posted online in front of a large audience, remains to be seen. Nevertheless, it could certainly help in situations where you would rather hide than reveal yourself at the Harvester.

  • Sneaky Apex Legends hiding spot makes for perfect vantage point – Dexerto

Sneaky Apex Legends hiding spot makes for perfect vantage point Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has found an impressive hiding spot on the World’s Edge map that is guaranteed to catch your opponents off-guard. An important aspect of Apex Legends is knowing each of the maps inside-out. Being able to take advantage of the surrounding environment can be the difference between victory and defeat. This is especially the case when you know specific hiding spots that your enemies will never think to check. World’s Edge may have been released into Apex back in Season 3, but players are still finding new hiding spots across the map. One player has found a vantage point that you need to be aware of before you jump back into World’s Edge for a match. Apex player find incredible hiding spot on World’s Edge A thread posted to the Apex University subreddit has revealed the useful and incredibly sneaky hiding spot on the World’s Edge map. The spot can be found in the Sorting Factory area and is perfect for a final ring situation against another squad. The best aspect of the spot is that it can be accessed by any legend in the game. This differs from a lot of the other hiding spots that are limited to characters with specific abilities such as Pathfinder and Horizon. Its high up position in the building will provide you with a deadly vantage point to eliminate enemies from above. On top of this, if you move backward on the ledge, you have full coverage from any gunfire from below. If you find this spot being used against you, keep in mind that throwables can counter positions like this easily, A perfectly thrown grenade or thermite is guaranteed to flush out any enemy and force them back down to ground level. Hopefully, this has given you a spot that may net you the victory the next time the ring ends in Sorting Factory. Memorizing spots like this across each of Apex’s maps is key, as it means you will always have the upper-hand over your opponents.

  • Apex Legends player finds perfect hiding spot on Olympus to dupe enemies – Dexerto

Apex Legends player finds perfect hiding spot on Olympus to dupe enemies Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has found the perfect hiding spot to evade enemies, heal up, and rain down bullets on unsuspecting targets. This is definitely a location on Olympus that every Apex player should know about. An important aspect of any Battle Royale title is knowing the maps inside-out. That’s certainly no different for Apex Legends and the new Season 7 map, Olympus. The map has only been available for just over a week and players have already found some incredible hiding spots and vantage points. One of these secret spots is now doing the rounds online, so it’s perhaps fair to say the location is no longer much of a secret, but it’s certainly worth knowing for your next game. Perfect hiding spot near Research Basin The Reddit thread on the location includes a video of a player showing exactly how to access the spot. As this location is always busy, having a nook you can dive into for cover can come in clutch. The cave-like hiding place is located near Research Basin, on the cliff face north of Hammond Labs. With all the action here, knowing this spot could be really helpful to reset your health and dupe your opponent.

  • Apex Legends player finds crazy hiding spot for Pathfinder – Dexerto

Apex Legends player finds crazy hiding spot for Pathfinder EAWith Apex Legends’ Pathfinder still one of the most popular characters, this hiding spot is bound to help plenty of those looking to get a step ahead of the competition on World’s Edge. Being one of the most popular Legends among a diverse roster of characters, Pathfinder gives players the ability to traverse a map effortlessly. Combining the Forward Scout’s Grappling Hook Tactical ability with their Zipline Gun can get an entire squad out of a sticky situation and into safety in next to no time. Not only do Pathfinder’s abilities provide a means for a swift escape, but they also allow the MRVN to access parts of World’s Edge that other Legends can merely dream of. In fact, one Reddit user posted a sneaky spot to the Apex Legends subreddit. Located on the rocky terrain, just north of the Harvester, the spot provides an ideal scouting point for Pathfinder mains. However, there is one caveat. In order to work your way into the nook of the mountain face, you’ll need Octane’s Launch Pad to propel you into the air. After being catapulted into the air, you’ll simply need to latch onto nearby rock with the grapple and swing yourself into the corner. If you none of your teammates run the Adrenaline Junkie as their main, then you can attempt to zipline your way up (providing you can land your hook onto the ledge of the crevice). There is something to be beware of, however. Other legends will also be able to utilize your zipline for sometime, so will easily be able to work their way up — rendering the not-so-secret spot effectively useless. Pathfinder mains have been lapping up the verticality of World’s Edge, and this adds another tidbit to an already extensive list of reasons why players should run the MRVN. The Forward Scout has an impressive arsenal of abilities, which can be utilized in plenty of different ways — as demonstrated by NRG’s Cody ‘dizzy’ Meadows with this savvy Arcstar trick.

  • Apex Legends player finds bizarre hidden loot bin on World’s Edge – Dexerto

Apex Legends player finds bizarre hidden loot bin on World’s Edge Respawn/EA[jwplayer ePrNLj8A]An Apex Legends player has discovered the most bizarre loot bin location in the game as it sits under World’s Edge – and you can actually work your way to it. Just like any other battle royale, Apex Legends is all about finding a solid landing spot, looting up, and then trying to be the last duo or trio standing. While many players simply want to play the battle royale to win, many others are out to find secrets – be it with a certain legend and ability, or with a map itself. Well, one player has managed to find a lonely loot bin hidden under the northern part of World’s Edge. It comes via YouTuber Dirty Skirty, who showed that there is a pretty typical loot bin underneath World’s Edge but getting to it is quite the challenge. You can’t just pick any legend. Instead, you need somebody like Pathfinder or Loba because once you’re underneath the map, things become a bit tricky. You need to avoid hidden walls, land on tiny rocks, and these two legends have the needed abilities to make it possible. Once you navigate the under the map obstacle course, which sits near Overlook, you work your way to a lone loot bin. To open it, you actually have to land on top of it, but don’t expect anything special. It’s just a normal loot bin with normal loot. Why its there is a good question, but Dirty Skirty suggested that it was simply put under the map during an update and forgotten about as the devs didn’t expect anyone to find it. Though, they did. It’s unlikely that you’ll see players going to find it for themselves. You probably aren’t going to get back to the normal map from where it is and even if you do, you’ll need incredible luck with the circle. At the very least, it’s a pretty interesting thing to find, but it doesn’t have much practical use.

  • Apex Legends player finds a dev in-game but gets brutal response after making big requests – Dexerto

Apex Legends player finds a dev in-game but gets brutal response after making big requests Respawn/EAAn Apex Legends fan has gone a little viral after being matched with a Respawn dev on their team and getting brutally shut down when asking for some long-awaited changes. Ever since Apex Legends first hit back in 2019, players have constantly been able to communicate with members of Respawn Entertainment’s dev team. There have been regular question-and-answer sessions on social media whenever a new season comes out, devs regularly respond to Twitter messages too, and plenty of them can be seen in-game. You’ll know you’ve bumped into a dev during a match when you view their death box or get a glimpse at their player card. There is always a nod to them working at Respawn on one of those. So, when one player noticed they were playing with a dev during a game of control, they jumped at the chance to make some requests. Apex Legends player’s request shutdown by Respawn dev in-game TikToker Failyr was the one to run into a dev and posted about it on TikTok – with the humorous 20-second clip racking up close to 800k views at the time of writing. “Huh, interesting,” the player said after spotting a dev-themed hold spray on the ground. After seeing the ‘Oscreat’ player tag – which belongs to Oscar Aguirre, Respawn’s Lead Hard Surface Artist – they waited until the end of the game to start trying to talk to him. “Dev, I know you can hear me. Remove Nemesis from the game. I know you can hear me,” he said. “Remove Nemesis from the game, please. And give us cross-progression, please.” However, that was met with a brutal and simple response of “no,” from Oscreat. A number of players noted that they’d have done the same thing if they were in that situation, with requests to nerf some legends. Others joked that the TikToker fumbled the chance to finally get cross-progression in Apex after all this time. Though, Respawn are still having plenty of issues on that front anyway.

  • Apex Legends player explains how to fix Wraith’s hitbox – Dexerto

Apex Legends player explains how to fix Wraith’s hitbox An Apex Legends fan has designed a way to solve what he thinks is a major issue with Wraith’s hitbox, complaining that the way she moves makes it even more difficult to hit her than it should be. Every character in Apex Legends is completely different, giving players plenty of options when choosing their Legend in terms of abilities, skillset, and even looks. In fact, the characters are so different, they are all vastly different sizes in terms of character models, with Gibraltar must bigger and taller than someone smaller and thin like Pathfinder. While the wide variety of choices and looks can be a great way for players to show their style or pick Legends based on how they play, this can also lead to issues as early in the game’s lifespan they struggled to hit the mysterious Wraith character when hunting for a victory. With her hitbox already the smallest of any character in the game, Reddit user /u/FrozenFroh has discovered that there is another issue with Wraith that makes it hard to hit her. While most players run in an upright or slightly hunched position, when the Interdimensional Skirmisher runs, she runs with her head a lot lower than everyone else, making it more difficult to hit headshots as her cranium isn’t at the same height as everyone else’s. In an effort to show off that idea, FrozenFroh included images of the models while in full sprint, marking the positions of their heads with blue dots. Included in the diagram are Caustic and Wattson, whose heads sit at almost identical heights, while Wraith is significantly lower. The solution is easy though, with the player showing how making Wraith run with a straighter back would easily raise her head to a similar height as the other Legends, meaning players would know that opponent’s enemies are in one almost identical position, rather than having to adjust for different characters in the heat of combat. Those who utilize Wraith as their main character may not be best pleased with the idea of raising her head to make it easier to hit for enemies, but the move would at least bring the Legends into similar conditions, meaning nobody would have a major advantage in terms of height, even if some heroes like Gibraltar have larger hitboxes anyway. Respawn Entertainment have yet to address the idea of changing the magical character, but posts like this one from FrozenFroh may encourage the developers to make alterations in the name of fairness.

  • Apex Legends player explains how he reached Predator rank as a solo – Dexerto

Apex Legends player explains how he reached Predator rank as a solo An Apex Legends player has released a video explaining how he got to Predator rank – the highest rank available in Apex Legends – while only playing solo. In any competitive title, a ranked mode is where the best players go to prove their worth and find out just how good they are compared to other players. For all players, the ultimate goal is to reach the very top, and in Apex Legends the highest rank you can reach is called Apex Predator. Typically you would find a team to do this with you; after all, these are team games, so having a well-constructed team with good chemistry is the best way to work your way up the ranks. There are always exceptions to the rule, though, and YouTube’s DistinctGamer101 is that exception, as he reached Apex Predator rank grinding as a solo player. He starts off by explaining how he didn’t abuse any exploits – such as closing the game so he wouldn’t lose Ranked Points – before getting into the nitty-gritty of it all. He said that there were three simple rules he would follow when asked how he achieved this feat. They are to prioritize your life, prioritize your damage and prioritize your kills, from most to least important factor. Your life, he says, is the most important thing, simply because the longer you live, the higher you’ll place. It makes perfect sense. Next, you should aim to accrue damage to others even if you won’t get the kill. Finally, kills are the least important, and every kill should be from a position where you won’t get hurt yourself or risk your life. These rules make sense, and of course, they’re not always possible to abide by, but he says that issues he has commonly seen in the higher ranks are players chasing kills and ending up dead because of it – thus losing Ranked Points. DistinctGamer said that he would occasionally run Wraith or Pathfinder, but cited his main, Gibraltar, as the “most overpowered Legend in the game” and the one he used most frequently. In total, he won 23 of his 203 games, including 105 more top-five placements. DistinctGamer did shout out a couple of friends who helped him along the way – saying that they played the last three games with him, which they won back-to-back to secure his Apex Predator status. So, from one of the very few people to achieve Apex Predator as a solo player on either PC or Console, DistinctGamer knows what should and shouldn’t be done. If you take his advice, practice, and use it properly, reaching Apex Predator should be that little bit easier.

  • Apex Legends player dominates using only a single Joycon controller – Dexerto

Apex Legends player dominates using only a single Joycon controller Respawn EntertainmentPulling off a 1v3 squad wipe is hard enough as it is in Apex Legends, but a player on PC hooked up their Switch controller to their computer and dominated with only a single Joycon. The wonderful thing about playing games on PC is that gamers can use almost any controller out there to play their games if they’ve got a preference. And there’s no shortage of people out there doing incredible things with some strange controller setups. One Apex Legends player on PC decided to use a single Joycon instead of a keyboard and mouse or even a standard game controller. But don’t be fooled by its small form factor and lack of dual thumbsticks. Thanks to gyroscopic aim configured with some third-party software, this player showed there’s more potential with using Joycon controllers than you’d think. Apex Legends player shows off their Joycon skills with 1v3 clutch For people who enjoy playing shooters on the Nintendo Switch, the Joycon’s gyro aim functionality is a lifesafer. Games like Fortnite and Splatoon 3 are excellent examples of games that use the controller’s features to their fullest. That said, the experience of playing Apex Legends at 30 FPS on the Switch doesn’t compare to playing on a high refresh rate monitor at a PC. So, this player took their controller of choice in-game and showed how powerful the Joycon can be. With just a single Joycon in-hand, they managed a squad wipe in an incredibly tense close-range battle. Though they had a teammate to help at the very start of the fight, reddit user TeratornPH’s allied Bangalore didn’t live long. So, they took matters into their own hands and ran through the entire enemy team with some well-placed Peacekeeper shots. The Joycon on screen also shows how the player is moving their controller, giving viewers a look at the gyro aim in action. What’s more, the original poster doesn’t even play Apex Legends on their Switch. They claimed the gyro aim settings on the Switch are “lackluster” compared to settings that are available on PC.

  • Apex Legends player discovers Valkyrie heirloom’s secret shotgun animation – Dexerto

Apex Legends player discovers Valkyrie heirloom’s secret shotgun animation Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has discovered another one of the secret, rare animations tied to the newest Legend heirloom: Valkyrie’s ‘Suzaku’ spear. Apex Legends heirlooms are the rarest collectibles players can potentially earn, giving specific Legends some epic flair. Each heirloom gives its respective owner a new item to fool around with when their weapon is holstered, as well as special melee animations. Now, one Apex Legend player has seemingly discovered an especially rare animation surrounding Valkyrie’s heirloom which mimics a shotgun cocking. Apex Legend player finds secret Valkyrie heirloom animation Reddit user ‘Eionceal‘ posted their discovery on the Apex Legends subreddit, which consisted of a short clip showcasing Valkyrie’s “secret shotgun animation.” The clip shows Valkyrie holstering an R-301 then pulling out her spear, only to cock it like a pump-action shotgun before firing off an energy blast. It doesn’t appear as if the spear actually shoots out a beam that can damage opponents, but it’s a cool animation nonetheless. It also seems as though this is an extremely rare animation, as many players in the comments said they’ve never seen the animation before. Respawn is known for hiding various rare animations in Legend heirlooms, like Mirage’s secret Porkchop animation which quickly became a meme among the community. Considering Valkyrie’s heirloom only recently debuted in the Awakening Collection Event on June 21, it’s no wonder players are still discovering new animations. While the heirloom has only been in player’s hands for just over a week now, those lucky enough to have picked it up seem very happy with the quality of the heirloom overall. For now, only time will tell if the Apex Legends community will find any more hidden secrets surrounding Valkyrie’s Suzaku heirloom.

  • Apex Legends player discovers unique way to kill cheaters under the map – Dexerto

Apex Legends player discovers unique way to kill cheaters under the map RespawnA savvy Apex Legends player has discovered the perfect way to counter cheaters glitching under the map, and it might just make Lifeline an even more important Legend in the game. The ability to glitch under maps has been evident in FPS games for as long as we can remember, and it’s an issue that seems like it might never go away. Once one spot is patched, another one opens up, and Apex Legends is no exception to the rule, as players keep finding new ways to exploit the boundaries of both Kings Canyon and Worlds Edge. Sometimes, it might happen by accident too, but either way, once an enemy is under the map, it’s extremely hard to kill them — so you have to be imaginative. While chasing a victory in World’s Edge, cheffymcchef and his teammates were trying desperately to take out the last remaining player, who they found stuffed between a couple of rocks, clipping in and out of the map. It’s not clear whether the opponent had purposely glitched under World’s Edge, as they did appear to be trying to escape, but nonetheless it made for a very difficult final circle for cheffy and friends. Finally, playing as Lifeline, they made the high IQ call to bring in a care package right on the spot the enemy was sat under: and, as you can see, it worked an absolute treat. The car package immediately killed the last remaining enemy, who also happened to be kill leader, granting them the win. Hopefully, the player wasn’t cheating and it was just a mishap. In September, developers Respawn started handing out week-long bans to players using exploits to get under the map, so it’s an issue they’re clearly taking seriously. That said, at least now you know another unique way you can counter these players — and like cheffy, it might just win you a match.

  • Apex Legends player discovers trick that makes one of the worst Legends worth playing – Dexerto

Apex Legends player discovers trick that makes one of the worst Legends worth playing Electronic ArtsAn Apex Legends player has discovered a neat trick that only Ballistic can pull off which gives him some extra ammo during firefights. Apex Legends has plenty of tech that players can master to get the edge on opponents. Which movement tech is the most prolific among the community, ability exploits also pop up now and again. Now, one player has discovered a new Ballistic exploit that can give players a full, additional mag in the middle of a firefight. The tech in question came from the Apex Legends subreddit by a user named ‘nSpeedWagon,’ who made a video showcasing the exploit. The tech, which they dubbed the ‘DoubleMag,’ is only possible when Ballistic has a perk upgrade available. Essentially, players want to have a perk upgrade ready to select and also equip their sling weapon. Once the sling weapon’s mag is fully empty, choose a perk during the reload animation and the sling weapon will automatically have a full mag ready to use. This tech, combined with Ballistic’s Sling-shot blue perk upgrade, gives the sling weapon a free blue extended mag. This naturally gives players even more ammo off the reload animation cancel. The video showcased practical scenarios where Ballistic mains could use this tech, with the OP noting it was useful in combination with Ballistic’s ult before making a push on an enemy squad. While Ballistic made a fairly strong first impression when he was introduced to the battle royale, his ranking in Apex Legends tier lists has fallen since his debut. Though this tech may be a bit niche, having a full-on extra clip of ammo ready to go in a firefight with no reload animation can be quite handy. It remains to be seen whether developer Respawn Entertainment will address this Ballistic tech in the future, so those who main this Legend should make the most of it while they can.

  • Apex Legends player discovers something everyone thought was impossible – Dexerto

Apex Legends player discovers something everyone thought was impossible Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player discovered something extremely rare that they’d never seen before despite putting countless hours into the game. While the goal in an Apex Legends match is always to secure the victory and rack up as many kills as possible, it’s easy to get distracted if you run into something that’s out of the ordinary. Whether that’s a bizarre bug, an enemy using a strange set of hacks, or any other kind of unexpected encounter. Well, one Apex player ran into exactly that in a recent match when they found two loot ticks or bots right next to each other. Despite playing the game for over 1,200 hours, they’d never seen it before, and based on the community reaction, it’s an extremely rare occurrence. Loots bots found next to each other in Apex Legends match During a match on Kings Canyon, an Apex Legends player stumbled upon an extremely rare encounter, finding two loot ticks sitting right next to each other. As only a handful of these are randomly scattered around the map in each game, the likelihood of them both being placed next to each other is incredibly low. After making the discovery, Reddit user dontoliver immediately made a post on the Apex Legends subreddit and revealed that in “1200 hours” they’d never seen this before. While this certainly isn’t a game-changing discovery that resulted in them winning the match, it’s always interesting to see rare occurrences in Apex. The screenshot surprised a lot of other users in the thread, with certain players who have racked up over “4000” and “5000” hours of gameplay revealing that never seen anything like it before. While it’s impossible to know how rare this scenario is without insight from a developer, it’s definitely not very often that you see two loot ticks right next to each other in the same building.

  • Apex Legends player discovers secret island outside Storm Point map – Dexerto

Apex Legends player discovers secret island outside Storm Point map Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has accidentally discovered a secret landmass outside Storm Point and it can only be accessed by diving directly into the sea. When Storm Point was added to Apex Legends at the beginning of Season 11, the community spent hours exploring every inch of the tropical island. In the process, they found unique easter eggs, hidden areas, and even a set of death spots that instantly killed anyone that was unfortunate enough to step on them. Although it’s been almost two months since Escape went live, players are still uncovering new secrets on Storm Point, including a hidden underwater island beneath the sea. Hidden underwater island found outside Storm Point After queueing for a Trios match with their teammate, Reddit user DarkDesertFox realized that the third player had disconnected on the Legend select screen. So, instead of playing out the match, they decided to eliminate themselves by plunging into Storm Point’s deep ocean. Unfortunately, that didn’t exactly go to plan. While hitting the ocean usually instantly kills a player, DarkDesertFox found themselves underneath the water on a mysterious plain landmass. With the sea above completely invisible and a steep drop into oblivion behind them, this is certainly a rat spot where no one would think to look. It’s safe to say this location is definitely not an intended part of the Storm Point map and will likely need to be patched by the devs in a later update. Although there’s no chance of being eliminated by an enemy there, it’s likely you’ll be the first competitor to experience ring damage, so it’s not exactly a useful spot. Either way, it’s an interesting area on Storm Point and the fact that it’s underwater makes it even more unique.

  • Apex Legends player discovers new jaw-dropping “double wall bounce” movement mechanic – Dexerto

Apex Legends player discovers new jaw-dropping “double wall bounce” movement mechanic Respawn EntertainmentA new Apex Legends movement technique has hit the internet and fans of the game can’t quite believe their eyes when taking it in. There’s a reason that Apex Legends’ movement system is still highly-touted more than three years after its initial release. Whether it’s a Legend like Pathfinder who can use his grappling hook to create ridiculous outplay situations, or an extraordinary speed boost trick that makes every legend almost impossible to hit, players keep finding new ways to shake the game up every week. The latest trick takes the popular wall bounce movement tech and stretches it to its most extreme and you have to see it to believe it. New double wall bounce Apex Legends movement technique A wall bounce can be used to great effect when trying to maneuver around distances that would otherwise be impossible to cross. Whether it’s leaping around the side of a building or just putting some space between yourself and an enemy, it makes a world of difference for those that are dedicated enough to master it. This new technique amplifies that even further by allowing players to literally double the distance traveled, or just repeat a bounce to throw an opposing player off, opening up a whole new world of possibilities when putting it into action. This is the kind of trick that takes a long time to learn because it’s incredibly detailed, but JayTheYggdrasil has a full breakdown on the Apex Rollouts subreddit of how it works and what you need to do in order to repeat it. Even after watching the explanation a few times through it’ll take some serious practice to be able to put it to use, but anyone who is able to nail it down is going to have a major leg up on the competition at the end of the day.

  • Apex Legends player discovers most common guaranteed weapons in Supply Bins – Dexerto

Apex Legends player discovers most common guaranteed weapons in Supply Bins Respawn EntertainmentRespawn added guaranteed weapon spawns in Supply Bins in the Apex Legends Season 21 update, and one player has discovered what guns most commonly spawn with the new mechanic. So long are the days when Apex Legends players would run around the map screaming in anger as they failed to find a weapon after opening multiple Supply Bins. Thanks to the Upheaval update, players who do not have a weapon will be guaranteed a gun spawn when opening their first Supply Bin after dropping into a match. What wasn’t revealed in the patch notes, however, was which weapons would spawn in these “guaranteed weapon” scenarios. One Apex Legends player did an experiment in-game and broke down the spawn rates of each weapon they found on the game’s Reddit page. They spawned in 100 games and logged each gun they encountered for their guaranteed weapon spawn. The results are as follows: P2020: 10 – Mozambique: 9 – Alternator: 8 – C.A.R: 8 – RE-45: 6 – Havok: 5 – G7-Scout: 5 – Wingman: 5 – Rampage: 5 – 30-30: 4 – Prowler: 4 – Spitfire: 4 – Nemesis: 4 – Flatline: 3 – Sentinel: 3 – R-99: 3 – R-301: 3 – Peacekeeper: 2 – L-Star: 2 – Hemlok: 2 – Volt: 2 – Longbow: 1 – Mastiff: 1 – Charge-Rifle: 1 – Triple Take: 0 – The player also stipulated that they counted multiple weapons in one bin as one spawn for each and that these numbers were compiled playing in solo and trio queues. The numbers make sense as the weapons the player most often obtained – the P2020, Mozambique, and C.A.R – are fine early-game weapons but not powerful by any means. However, the experiment, shows that players can get powerful guns, like the Havoc, Hemlok, or Peacekeeper, thanks to this new change. Still, you shouldn’t expect to be gifted a powerful weapon thanks to the mechanic. Reddit users applauded the poster for their effort with the experiment, and many said they could confirm the high spawn rates of the P2020, Mozambique, and Alternator from their own games. “Nice! It seemed like Mozams were more common but I thought it was just me,” one user said. While spawn rates are one thing, players still need to know how to take advantage of the weapons they are given during each drop into an Apex Legends match.

  • Apex Legends player discovers mind-blowing use for Wraith’s ultimate – Dexerto

Apex Legends player discovers mind-blowing use for Wraith’s ultimate Respawn EntertainmentWraith’s ultimate Dimensional Rift is a fantastic tool for rotations and escapes in Apex Legends, but one player showed how it can also be used to disorient incoming attackers. Playing with portals can make it hard for opponents to get a hold of Wraith and her teammates. Matters only get worse when Wraith uses those portals to find ways of opening up her foes for an attack. By creatively using the environment to force players into the ult, Reddit user ‘ItsNealeyy’ showed how a short-distance port can go a long way to stay one step ahead in the Apex Games. In the broken terrain of Fragment East, the player activated the ultimate ability where players using the vertical zipline would jump off to get access to the roof. But they placed the exit for the interdimensional tunnel just a few feet away with over 90% of their Rift Energy still available to use. With both teammates dead, the enemy squad in pursuit must have figured that the portal was being used to make a last-ditch escape. But instead of using her portal ability to flee the scene, the Wraith ended it nearly immediately and moved around the corner to where they had a vantage point on the portal’s exit. Sure enough, 10 seconds later the first victim appeared. Bloodhound came out of the other end, still running forward into the now-kill room when the Wraith unloaded on them with her Flatline. She took her opponent down in seconds. Moments later, a Wattson also made her way through the portal while ItsNealeyy was reloading, and the tricky Wraith made to stay out of sight. While that fight wasn’t as clean as the one just before, ItsNealeyy managed to make the most out of it by using the portal as cover to obscure the opponent’s shot. In fact, Wattson even portaled through the ult again during the fight, which would have been the right play. But it may have been unintentional since they came back through it moments later. The creative use of Wraith’s portals resulted in two quick kills and showed how to use the ultimate for directly offensive purposes. More players will no doubt be using similar tactics with Wraith, making her an even deadlier character to field in Apex Legends.

  • Apex Legends player discovers incredibly powerful spots to shoot at enemies – Dexerto

Apex Legends player discovers incredibly powerful spots to shoot at enemies An Apex Legends players has found a series of powerful spots on the map from where enemies can be caught off-guard and shot at very effectively. Winning gunfights is arguably the most important thing players have to do in Apex Legends in order to win matches, and there are a lot of factors that go into engaging enemy players. Angles and positioning are two of the biggest factors, as shooting at enemies from powerful angles and positions on the map can make a huge difference between winning and losing gunfights. One very effective approach when engaging enemies that are hiding in huts and houses is to try and shoot them from the cracks and openings in the walls and roof, rather than through the more obvious doors and windows. Taking that idea a step further, one players has discovered that the huts which have two floors usually also have two roofs, and where the two roofs meet there is almost always an opening through which nearly the entire interior is visible. How to use this tactic effectively The key then in engaging enemies who are inside a hut is to identify the lower roof, climb on top of it, and then locate the small opening in the adjacent wall. From there, it’s more than likely the enemies inside will be visible, and that there will be a clean line of sight to shoot at them. The best part about this tactic, at least for now, is that most players will be so preoccupied with keeping an eye on the windows, doors, and more obvious openings, that they will not think to cover themselves from that opening. This then opens the door for a well-executed attack to be unleashed, and should result in the enemies either being eliminated or hurt to the point where they can then be rushed at and killed through doors and windows. Now that you’ve been made aware of these spots, you should definitely add it to your arsenal use it to catch enemies off-guard and eliminate them. Furthermore, it’s important to always keep those openings in your mind if you are the one occupying a hut, so that others won’t be able to use it against you.

  • Apex Legends player discovers hilarious Loba bug as her assets get in the way – Dexerto

Apex Legends player discovers hilarious Loba bug as her assets get in the way Respawn EntertainmentDespite Respawn’s best efforts, Apex Legends sometimes features a number of glitches and bugs that slip through the net. However, the latest visual bug involves Loba and the Wraith Bringer Prowler skin. Apex Legends Season 10: Emergence is finally live and players from around the world are busy diving into all the new content. While Seer and the new POIs have proven popular amongst the player base, it seems that the latest update has brought with it a rather comical visual bug. Loba is certainly no stranger to the world of Apex Legends bugs – after all, her tactical has caused countless issues for both the developers and those that play her. However, the latest Loba issue doesn’t involve her abilities. Instead, one player has discovered that a specific Prowler skin is the main culprit. New Loba bug discovered Just like every multiplayer game, Apex Legends is home to some whacky glitches and bugs. From Valkyrie’s ultimates that send players plunging through the map to accidental Wattson buffs, the popular BR certainly features a number of strange occurrences. Creating a game without any bugs requires a huge undertaking and while Respawn is often quick to iron out any problems, there are times where some go unnoticed until a member of the Apex community highlights the problem. Well, this is what one player did when they found a hilarious Loba bug. Reddit user Spikes_N_Spooks found that whenever they aimed down sights with the Wraith Bringer Prowler skin, Loba’s chest obstructed the view. Read More: Apex Legends leak reveals OG event skins – Obviously, this can prove problematic for anyone that’s looking to avoid any visual clutter when gunning for those all-important kills. This visual bug may not be as bad as Warzone’s infamous demon gun glitch, but it’s certainly rather comical given how specific it is. Respawn has yet to officially respond to the bug, but the developers will likely patch it out in the near future.

  • Apex Legends player discovers “extremely rare” R99 secret reload animation – Dexerto

Apex Legends player discovers “extremely rare” R99 secret reload animation Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has discovered another secret reload animation, this time relating to the ever popular R99 submachine gun. Despite launching way back in 2019, Apex Legends players continue to discover easter eggs and hidden content that developers Respawn throw in to maximize the immersion. We recently saw a Titanfall 2 easter egg hiding in plain sight, while the third person firing range easter egg continues to be possible in-game. This particular easter egg falls more under the category of secret animations though. Back in 2019, just after Apex Legends’ release, players found that the G7 Scout had a secret reload animation. Now, the same has been discovered of the R99 SMG. Apex Legends player discovers secret R99 reload animation Highlighted on Reddit by ‘Jemaniema’, the R99’s secret animation was triggered when the player ran adjacent to the lava pools that separate Fragment West and Fragment East on World’s Edge. As they reloaded, their character discarded the R99’s used magazine by tossing it down into the lava, before replacing it with a full magazine. The animation is very cool and has remained largely undiscovered since Apex’s launch. OP was originally confused by the secret animation, but went on to say they think it’s a R99 exclusive as a result of some further research. They said: “I did some testing and it happens when you reload a R99 in this spot. I tried it with a Volt and it did the normal one so I don’t know if there are any other weapons that do [it], but it works sometimes with a R99. I don’t know how rare it is.” Some did suggest it was a reload bug but, given OP’s ability to recreate it subsequently, it seems more likely to be a secret animation. With the R99 joining the G7 as one of the game’s weapons to boast a secret reload animation, we’re almost certain there’s more hidden in Apex’s immersive world. It’s just a case of finding them.

  • Apex Legends player discovers clever new way to use Lifeline’s revive shield – Dexerto

Apex Legends player discovers clever new way to use Lifeline’s revive shield While the Lifeline is already one of the more oft-used Legends in Apex Legends, there may now be yet another reason to pick it above the rest. One of the Lifeline’s numerous unique traits is the ability to project a defensive shield whenever reviving a downed teammate. The shield protects both the Lifeline and the downed player throughout the whole revival process, which can be very important considering the chance that dangerous enemies may be lurking nearby. Aside from this main and obvious use for the revive shield, one Apex Legends player has figured out that there is another, and more strategic, way to use this ability. TerrorByte‘ and his teammate landed in a hot area and were quickly met by an enemy Gibraltar, who had already been armed. The Gibraltar quickly knocked the teammate and moved to do the same to the Lifeline, at which point the player cleverly began starting and stopping the revival of the teammate as a way to activate the revive shield and keep it between them and the enemy. No matter what the Gibraltar tried, he could not get a clean shot at the two players, which bought enough time for the third member of their team to come and save them. Although it worked perfectly in that situation, the technique is certianly not foolproof. As several users pointed out in the comments section of the Reddit post, the Gibraltar could and should have simply walked through the shield and then fired at the Lifeline from point blank range. However, in the heat of the moment, many players may not have that thought process, and it’s in those situations where this method will work beautifully to buy time for the third teammate to come and help.

  • Apex Legends player devises new grenades to shake up the game – Dexerto

Apex Legends player devises new grenades to shake up the game Throwables in Apex Legends can give people a ton of tactical advantages, and one player’s design for three new grenades would be perfect for the battle royale. Respawn Entertainment has a deep arsenal packed into Apex. From the electrifying Arc Stars, to the popular Hop Ups, there are a ton of auxiliary equipment items for players to take advantage of in the game. Even still, there could be a bit more of a variety in the Throwables department to really change up the way players approach a given engagement on World’s Edge. To accomplish that end, user ‘realPipes’ detailed a few new grenades that would do everything from debilitating players’ vision, to making them think twice about running around aimlessly in close quarters. In their design, the Explosives wheel gets a few new entrants in the form of a Sonic Grenade, a Flash Grenade and a Sticky Mine. While the Flash Grenade works how people might expect them to, it doesn’t let the players get flashed when not inside of a room. It’s a small but smart addition to the grenade to give players an incentive to choose how to approach a fight when they crop up. The Sticky Mine is the one that would be the most hectic to add in the game. Attached with a motion sensor, the mines can stick on floors and walls. But to prevent players from spamming them all over a building that they’re holding up in, the concept makes it so only one mine can be activated at a time. After eight seconds, the mine explodes if no one triggered it. Though the most intriguing utility item comes in the form of a Sonic Grenade, which would disrupt an opponent’s comms. RealPipes said it would force players to endure “complete silence for five seconds” while also removing teammate’s Pings during its effect. While it deals no damage, it would still be a detriment since it gives a team the chance to converge on a player who is cut off from their squad’s communication. Even though these items might not make it to Apex Legends, if Respawn needed some ideas for new explosives then this would be a great place to start.

  • Apex Legends player devises major overhaul for Mirage’s abilities – Dexerto

Apex Legends player devises major overhaul for Mirage’s abilities Respawn EntertainmentOne Apex Legends fan has grown tired of Mirage being a bottom-tier operator, and has devised a number of buffs that would see the holographic trickster catapulted back into relevancy. Apex Legends is dominated by awesome, powerful legends. From Lifeline’s medical drone to Wraith’s interdimensional travel, there are a number of legends who can swing the odds in your team’s favor. Mirage, while not completely awful, is not one of them. Despite being on the receiving end of a major buff in Season 2, Mirage has largely gone untouched by the game’s developers. His large hitbox and limited abilities appear to have caught up with him in a meta that is constantly evolving. One Mirage fan has seemingly grown tired of the lack of love Respawn have shown, and has conceived a number of buffs that would see the holographic legend improve significantly in Season 4. The fan’s suggestions would see an almost total overhaul of Mirage’s current abilities. Most notably, they suggest taking the ‘Emergency Dance Party’ ability from the Dummies’ Big Day game mode, which featured during the Grand Soiree Event. This saw the DUMMIEs spawn five identical decoys, which would then mirror the movement of the original exactly. Many considered this to be an upgrade to Mirage’s existing ultimate ability. The other suggestions were to increase the duration that Mirage is able to remain invisible for once he is knocked. It is currently 5 seconds, but the Reddit user suggests upping it to 7 or 8 seconds. Similarly, for Mirage’s Tactical Ability they want to see two clones spawned rather than one – in line with Bangalore’s smoke detonators. These clones would also be capable of more believable movement in order to deceive enemies, in the form of sliding down hills or vaulting obstacles. Finally, the Apex player suggested alterations to the clones as he skydives in order to give the illusion that an entire team is dropping. The desire to see Mirage buffed is clearly infectious, as many respondents were proposing other ways Respawn could improve the trickster. The ball’s in your court, Respawn.

  • Apex Legends player devastated after bug robs them of Heirloom rewards – Dexerto

Apex Legends player devastated after bug robs them of Heirloom rewards Respawn EntertainmentHeirlooms are the pinnacle of Apex Legends rewards, and when one player finally gets the infamous “red light” in a pack, it goes from good to bad in seconds. Fans of Apex Legends know that Heirlooms are the peak of the in-game rewards ecosystem. Earn enough Heirloom Shards, spend enough money, or open up enough Apex Packs, and you’ll eventually find yourself earning one of these special cosmetic items. Per custom, when granted an Heirloom in a pack, you’ll earn three items — the Heirloom itself and a combination of mythic-tiered poses or quips. However, when one Apex Legends player finally earns their shot at earning an Heirloom, they fall victim to an unfortunate bug, as the game only rewards them with a mythic-tiered pose. The events leave the player and their friend speechless, with a defeated “what?” at the end. One of the caveats surrounding Heirlooms is that Respawn guarantees you cannot open 500 Apex Packs without a shot at earning an Heirloom. Responses to the above clip highlighted that, as one player jested: “Well now you just have to open another 500 packs to get the voice line.” Others shared their thoughts on the situation, with many feeling sad for OP. A developer also replied to the unfortunate happenings, confirming this is a bug rather than a ploy to dilute the in-game economy. While rather rare, bugs like these do unfortunately occur in Apex Legends. Be careful when it comes to opening up packs, especially as more Heirlooms and coveted items enter the game’s rotation.

  • Apex Legends player devastated after 7-year-old spends Heirloom Shards – Dexerto

Apex Legends player devastated after 7-year-old spends Heirloom Shards Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player was left feeling defeated after he discovered his 7-year-old had spent the Mythic Shards he’d been saving for over a year. Apex Legends has a plethora of different cosmetic items that players can earn, but the rarest cosmetics in the game are known as Heirlooms. Heirloom Shards are randomly obtained by opening Apex Packs, with each pack having a less than 1% chance of yielding these extremely rare shards. The rarity of Heirloom Shards is why one Apex Legends player and father was left devastated after he discovered his 7-year-old had spent the Shards he’d been saving for over a year. Apex Legends fan crushed after child spends Heirloom Shards The player posted their sad tale on the Apex Legends subreddit, in a thread titled, “Kids spent my mythic shards…” The OP explained, “I got em just solo queueing since day one, finally was rewarded last summer with my red gems and was saving em for a Fuse or Vantage heirloom.” Unfortunately, it seems that wasn’t meant to be. “…Today, I saw my 7-year-old who just had his tonsils out happily twirling a kunai while running around the firing range trying to shoot his brother. A kunai – the pumpkin spice latte of heirlooms.” Members of the Apex community found the story hilarious, with many making jokes about the poor father’s misfortune. “You are a wraith Main now,” said one player. Even a member of Respawn Entertainment took notice of the post, as the developer’s Community Manager Amy Thiessen said, “‘A kunai – the pumpkin spice latte of heirlooms.’ Choked on my water while reading this. Too real.” To make matters worse, the player in question was unaware Fuse had recently received his Heirloom. “Dammit – I didn’t know, I only get an hour or so every couple days to play,” they said in response to another Reddit user breaking the bad news. Hopefully, this poor unfortunate soul will get another chance to snag the Heirloom of his dreams in the not-too-distant future.

  • Apex Legends player designs perfect new ability for Pathfinder – Dexerto

Apex Legends player designs perfect new ability for Pathfinder Respawn/EAAn Apex Legends player has come up with a pretty interesting rework for Pathfinder’s passive ability that would allow the Forward Scout to become an even better teammate than he already is. While plenty of Apex Legends players have been enjoying Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale, there are others who want to make their mark on it outside of just winning games and vaulting up the leaderboards. These creative fans are coming up with new skin concepts, ideas for limited-time game modes, map changes, and pretty much anything else you can think of. Though, their most popular ideas come in the form of legend reworks – and the newest one focuses on Pathfinder. Put forward by Reddit user wicked_fool, who also came up with ideas for Octane, the Pathfinder rework idea would see the current passive ability, Insider Knowledge, thrown out the window and replaced. Instead of that ability, Pathfinder would have a new ability called “I’ve got you, Friend.” Taking inspiration from the character’s voice line, this passive would allow Pathfinder players to use their grappling hook to bring teammate deathboxes closer to them in order to pick up banners more easily. They’d also be able to cut through and any pre-made ziplines from the Zipline Gun ultimate – be it one of their own so that they can’t be followed, or one from an enemy team that would disrupt their movement. Of course, the idea seemed to be pretty popular with fellow players who want to have another legend like Crypto that can retrieve banners from a death box without risking their lives to do so. However, no matter how popular or feasible the idea might seem, the only way a change of that magnitude gets made is if Respawn sees it as something they want to do. The proposed fan concept would no doubt shake up the current Apex Legends meta, but the developers would have to keep it balanced or every legend would end up with pretty powerful abilities.

  • Apex Legends player designs ideal new ranked rewards system – Dexerto

Apex Legends player designs ideal new ranked rewards system EAAn Apex Legends player has come up with the perfect way to reward players for grinding through the Ranked Leagues, aside from receiving Weapon Charms and Dive Trails. Introduced back in Season 2, Apex Legends’ Ranked League system offers a more competitive experience to players looking to take their game to the next level. The league is made up of seven tiers (from Bronze to Apex Predator), with a certain amount of Ranked Points being required to progress to the next tier. While Respawn’s sophisticated Ranked League system offers a more competitive experience, players have previously complained about the lackluster rewards that are given in exchange for their efforts. As it stands, players receive a Weapon Charm and Dive Trail to reflect the rank they achieved, at the end of each split. But one player has found the perfect way of recognizing the grind at the end of each Ranked Series. Reddit user ‘narcosys1983’ posted their concept of how rewards should work, where players would be reimbursed via a certain amount of Legend Tokens, Crafting Metals and/or Apex Coins, depending on the tier achieved at the end of the season. As per the Redditor’s concept, the first two tiers would receive Legend Tokens to go towards unlocking a new character, while both Gold and Platinum would walk away with Crafting Metals to put towards a cosmetic of their choosing. The final three tiers would be rewarded with more Crafting Metals and/or Apex Coins, which players could use to unlock a specific skin or put towards some Apex Packs. On paper, this is a simple way to reward the endless hours of grind required to earn some the higher Ranked tiers. One player commented suggesting: “I like the idea and it’d make me play Ranked.” While other comments pointed towards introducing Heirloom Shards into the reward system, for the latter ranks — giving some of the elite ranks the opportunity to snag an Heirloom without relying on the RNG nature of Apex Packs alone. With Apex Legends’ ever-expanding cosmetic market, this would be a perfect way to reward players, and would entice more players to try their hand at Ranked.

  • Apex Legends player shares design for leaked character Nomad and it’s incredible – Dexerto

Apex Legends player shares design for leaked character Nomad and it’s incredible Apex Legends has one of the most creative fan communities in gaming, as seen in the incredible character designs they keep coming out with. Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale released February 4 and since then Apex fans have been giving their twists on characters they’d like to see in the game. The latest creation takes inspiration from a leaked character that some believe could still be on the way. Regardless if they’re still scheduled to be released, one fan decided to fill out a concept character with abilities and a backstory that fits the cloaked Legend. A full body for Nomad In a Reddit post, user ‘MagnumPDie’ not only created a character around the leaked Nomad image, but filled out the rest of the design with what they think the Legend would look like. Their Legend’s abilities take inspiration from the character’s past as “the tribes of the desert nomads developed old techniques into advanced tactics.” Nomad’s abilities consist of a Hide’n Seek passive that makes them “invisible to digital threat optics.” Meanwhile, their tactical ability called Flurry, lets Nomad deflect incoming projectiles and grenades, possibly with the awesome sword MagnumPDie gave their concept. The ultimate ability is simply called Cloak, and it would deploy a beacon that turns nearby players invisible. Though it’s unclear if that means enemy players will also be cloaked, it would make sense to give the ultimate some kind of downside. Who is Nomad? Though MagnumPDie’s concept is incredible on its own, it’s inspiration is rooted in the massive Apex Legends leak that revealed possible upcoming characters for the game. One of those leaks produced the image of a red-hooded figure who has their face covered with a skill cutout. Not much is known about the leaked Legend, except that its name might be a toss up between Nomad or Jericho. Other leaks also suggested that the character in question could have a tactical or ultimate ability that tells them the location of nearby items using a “loot compass,” according to Reddit user ‘Sargent379.’ All in all, the character design for MagnumPDie’s Nomad combines elements of their Legend’s lore with its ability kit and would make an intriguing contestant in the Apex Games.

  • Apex Legends player demonstrates the risks of super sliding long distances – Dexerto

Apex Legends player demonstrates the risks of super sliding long distances Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are constantly looking for ways to improve their movement as it can make a difference while playing. Super sliding is a tactic that allows you to cover a lot of ground very fast. However, one player shows why you need to be careful before sliding around the map. Season 10 of Apex has turned out to be one of the more memorable ones. With new gameplay, maps, and characters, the game has seen a hige increase in players. With a larger player base there are people that are still learning different mechanics to master and improve their gameplay. Sliding is one that can be used in different ways, as you can go on until you run out of momentum. While it doesn’t seem to be a dangerous tactic when used for a bit too long things can really go haywire in the blink of an eye. Super slide throws player off the map The fastest way to get around in Apex is by hitting a balloon and relaunching or sliding down elevation to create a ton of speed. Read More: Apex Legends fans demand Firing Range overhaul that would be perfect for upping your game – This Reddit clip posted by ‘CountXV-TV’ shows off just how quickly you can get around the map using this mechanic. However, things head south real quick when the player finally reached the end of their slide. You can see that they start their slide from outside the boundaries of the map which allows the player to generate insane speed. While traveling down the slope and into Energy Depot they had enough speed to clear the gap from the mountain. Unfortunately, it turned into an utter catastrophe the moment they reached the bottom. Since they were traveling at such a fast pace, when colliding with the box it ended up bouncing them right off the map. While both players were laughing about the situation it is important to note that players need to pay attention and know when the stop their slide. So even thorough they were able to get across a good portion of the map it didn’t matter because, in the end, they slid right off the map.

  • Apex Legends player creates stunning IRL optic attachment & fans are obsessed – Dexerto

Apex Legends player creates stunning IRL optic attachment & fans are obsessed Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends can often be said to stand out from the crowd, no doubt in part to its outlandish weapons. One dedicated fan of the battle royale has now brought the game’s weapon optics to life. As Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale has evolved, there have been plenty of high-octane weapons implemented into the game. From the Bocek Bow to old classics like R-301 Carbine, players can deal damage in devilishly fun ways. Now, an avid fan of Apex Legends has brought one of the game’s futuristic weapon attachments to life. Fan creates Apex-inspired optic attachment Reddit user u/lemlurker has taken their love for Apex Legends to the next level. Debuting their homemade creations, the clever fan showcased brilliant re-creations of optics used within the game. Taking inspiration from the HUD-style display used on Apex’s optic attachments, the avid Apex Legends fan has forged two different sights for competitive airsoft usage. “Been working on the project on and off for about 3 years, I can make a singular optic in about 3-5 days,” they said, when asked about the project’s progress from another player. With a compass and ammunition counter included, the painstaking re-creation has impressed fans of the battle royale. “You could totally make a fortune selling these. Especially if you branch out to different games. You may have a good a** idea on your hands,” user u/Extra-Thot-Sauce commented. “You’re a genius… how the f**k?!” fellow fan u/stangerthings said. The optics have customization options too, lending themselves to the ever-changing nature of Apex: “There are 12 different reticle shapes!” Apex Legends fans are getting ready for the release of Season 12 in February. With rumored Legends like ‘Mad Maggie’ on the way, we’re sure there will be plenty of new weapons to look forward to.

  • Apex Legends player creates perfect way to identify friendly abilities – Dexerto

Apex Legends player creates perfect way to identify friendly abilities Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players know that in the chaos of battle, it can be difficult to distinguish friendly abilities and grenades from enemy ones. One fan, however, has potentially come to the rescue. One of the best things about Apex Legends is fast-paced action. A match can go from zero to 100 in a matter of seconds, with skirmishes make-or-break for your squad. But, with so many players often in a small area, and abilities flying left, right and center, it can sometimes be tricky to know what is an enemy’s and what is friendly. To help you find some order in the chaos, however, one player has created a system that would be perfect for tracking which abilities are your hostile, and which are your teammates’. Cool fan idea helps show friendly abilities Due to Apex’s limited Legend pool and the vast amount of players in one game, you’re likely to run into someone playing the exact same character as you. For your teammates, distinguishing between friendly and enemy abilities can be a nightmare. Luckily though, one player has shared a system that could potentially solve this issue. First, they’ve added a section under Gameplay settings entitled “Ally Tactical Colour.” This option lets players color code friendly Tacticals in red or blue. Using Caustic‘s Nox Gas as an example, the accompanying video shows the often confusing green gas being illuminated with a blue hue to make sure that teammates don’t panic. Entitled “what everyone wants for season 9! It would be so useful,” it’s pretty clear that the majority of Apex fans agree, as the suggestion received thousands of upvotes. One respondent noted that “I’d love the idea of indicators to let us know what utilities are friendly and which are the enemies,” and would be especially useful “for a solo player” as “it’s often impossible to know if the nade is from your allies or not!” This wouldn’t just be useful for abilities, but could also indicate friendly thermite grenades, for example. Will Respawn grant our wish in time for Season 9? That remains as unclear as Caustic’s smokes. Cross your fingers, though, and maybe we’ll see it happen at some point in the future.

  • Apex Legends player creates new medic character to rival Lifeline – Dexerto

Apex Legends player creates new medic character to rival Lifeline Respawn EntertainmentOne Apex Legends player has shared their awesome concept for a brand new healing legend, who would undoubtedly rival Lifeline for the primary medic role. Lifeline is, in the current build of Apex Legends, the only character entirely designed around healing herself and teammates. Her D.O.C. drone, paired with her care package, is perfect to strengthen a depleted team after an engagement. However, some Apex Legends fans argue she is more about player recovery than spontaneous healing. For example, her D.O.C. drone is too slow and conspicuous to try and use in the middle of a skirmish. The new legend concept, devised by Reddit user ‘FranticIsASaltyBoi‘, proposes a number of abilities that are similar to Lifeline’s, but would be more suited to the chaos of a gunfight. First is the proposed Tactical Ability, entitled ‘Re-energize’. This would enable players to shoot a laser at their teammates, giving them an instant 25 health. If the same laser hits an enemy they take 25 damage and the user gains 15 shield. The legend’s Passive Ability, called ‘Repair Man’, would grant a truly unique ability – crafting a host of smaller items into a more effective one. The example given suggests 4 syringes could turn into one med kit. The Final Ability is called ‘Sharing is Caring’. This proposed skill grants 75% of healing received from items to nearby teammates. This Ultimate would last 20 seconds, so as to keep it balanced. While undoubtedly similar to Lifeline, the new legend would be far more suited to healing during an engagement. The Tactical Ability in particular would be excellent at giving combatants a quick burst of health. Despite the awesome concept, it doesn’t seem like Respawn have any plans to introduce another healer into Apex Legends, at least in the near future. Loba has already been confirmed for Season 5, which will drop on May 12.

  • Apex Legends player creates IRL Wattson Heirloom that can play the game – Dexerto

Apex Legends player creates IRL Wattson Heirloom that can play the game Respawn EntertainmentOne Apex Legends player created a replica of Wattson’s Heirloom with impressive results, as the portable device can play the game, both as a controller and a screen. If there’s one thing that never fails to amaze, it’s how creative players get when it comes to playing video games. For example, a Fortnite player rocked out in the Festival mode with four bananas, which is impressive until you see a Dark Souls 3 streamer play the game with eight of the fruits. Following the “unique ways to game” trend, an Apex Legends player shared their unique setup — Wattson’s Heirloom. Shared to the Apex Legends subreddit, user grahamw01, aka G-Man Projects, showed a replica they built of the Energy Reader that could actually run the game. Grahamow1 mentioned that they started this project a few months ago, but had to put it on hold due to the birth of their child. However, they picked it up again once their child was born and got it working. “I was really hoping to get it in the hands of one of the pros and see what they could do on it,” they claimed. Who knows, maybe a pro will reach out and give Wattson’s Heirloom a spin IRL? While the Reddit clip is just a highlight, the full YouTube video shows how they built the device, including control mapping and getting the Energy Reader working as a screen. Amidst the sea of support and praise, OP clarified that using the device was a bit painful. “It hurts eyes, ears, and hands,” they said in response to a comment stating the device must hurt the eyes and hands after extended Apex Legends sessions. Funnily enough, this isn’t OP’s first Apex Legends creation. Three years ago, they made a functioning Apex Loot Tick, minus the loot explosion upon destroying it.

  • Apex Legends player creates incredible Marvel mashup intro featuring hilarious memes – Dexerto

Apex Legends player creates incredible Marvel mashup intro featuring hilarious memes Reddit u/Socksfor1With so much hype surrounding Avengers: Endgame, what better way to celebrate the film’s release than a Marvel intro sequence edited to feature characters and memes from Apex Legends. Anyone who has seen at least one Marvel movie will be familiar with the iconic introduction video that’s played right before the film’s main titles pop up on screen. Over the years, that sequence has changed and become more modern, to the point now where it features dozens of characters from past Marvel films. In honor of Marvel and Avengers: Endgame, one of the most anticipated films in recent memory, Reddit user ‘Socksfor1’ has spent a lot of time putting together a comical mashup video between the Marvel intro and Apex Legends. The video features the classic Marvel music and animation, but instead of flipping through moments from previous films and their characters, the video instead depicts the various Legends and memes from the world of Apex Legends. At the beginning of the video, instead of strips taken from comic books, the video includes a variety of memes having to do with the popular battle royale title. Following that are the Legends, but each one’s head has been replaced with either the face of a prominent content creator, such as Ninja and KEEMSTAR, or an outside reference that people relate with that particular Legend. The clip ends with the name of the game written in large, block, metallic letters, very similar to how the Marvel intro wraps up. You can see an example of a recent Marvel intro taken from the 2018 film Ant-Man and the Wasp. What is Avengers: Endgame and when does it release? Avengers: Endgame is the highly-anticipated sequel to the 2018 film Avengers: Infinity War, and the fourth installment of the Avengers series. Releasing on April 26, it’s expected to mark the end of the current phase within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is currently up to 22 films. Avengers x Fortnite Battle Royale mashup While the Apex Legends mashup was purely a fan-made product, Marvel have actually partnered up with another popular battle royale game to bring exclusive in-game content to players. Although exactly what awaits Fortnite Battle Royale players remains to be seen, it could be something similar to the Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mode that went live around the time of Infinity War’s release back in 2018.

  • Apex Legends player creates clever concept to make quips useful – Dexerto

Apex Legends player creates clever concept to make quips useful Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has come up with a brilliant and simple new way to make quips more useful in-game, and it could change the way you play. Quips have been in Apex Legends since the game’s initial release, with both introduction and kill quips available to choose from. They are short, simple phrases, unique to each Legend, and at first, could only be used at the start of a game or when you got a kill, as the names suggest. However, at the start of Season 3, Respawn Entertainment introduced a ‘Quip Wheel’ to the battle royale titan, allowing players to use a quip whenever they want, similar to the use of emotes in rival game Fortnite. But this player thinks they can be improved upon quite a lot. Posting his concept to Reddit, ‘182ways’ thinks there’s a whole section of quips that could be added to the game to improve communication, especially for those who don’t use a microphone to talk with their squad. 182ways thinks that the quip wheel should expand to include “tactical quips” to give teammates more of an idea of what is going on. Some of the examples include “follow me”, “hold your fire” or “stop moving.” He describes these tactical quips as “general, non-targeted commands that may be helpful to players who don’t use a mic. Players may opt to add any of them to their quip wheel to improve communication with their squadmates.” This seems like a really clever way to help players on all teams, especially if there’s a teammate without a microphone. It’s also noted that while nearby enemies can hear regular quips, tactical quips would be for your team’s ears only, meaning you wouldn’t have to worry about staying concealed or quiet in tense moments. Quips have often seemed underutilized in Apex Legends, and it’s clear that there has been something stopping them from being an integral part of the game. This could be the best way to utilize them correctly.

  • Apex Legends player creates awesome evolving character skins concept – Dexerto

Apex Legends player creates awesome evolving character skins concept Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans have called on Respawn to introduce new “evolving” Legend skins as the final reward in future battle passes. In many of the top online multiplayer titles, players will often look to customize their playable character to stand out above the rest of the competition with different skins and accessories. Apex Legends is no different, and although Respawn has released many high-quality cosmetic items for players to collect, fans are now calling on them to introduce “evolving” skins that can change across the course of a game. The idea was first shared on the Apex Legends subreddit by u/Poolbeard, who explained that evolving skins would make a great addition to the popular battle royale. They suggested that the evolving skins, which would alter after hitting a certain number of kills, could be perfect as a final reward in the upcoming battle passes and even shared an example of how it would look. “I would love to see the final battle pass skins being for Legends, I love seeing evolving skins in other games and I would love to see them in Apex,” they added, posting an image of how the skins would evolve. The Legendary Jade Tiger skin for Octane was used to demonstrate how the skins would evolve after different killstreaks, suggesting that changes such as glowing eyes and the Legend’s suit lighting up could be used to differentiate between each stage. Since the concept was first posted, many other Apex Legends fans have shown their support for the clever idea and called on Respawn to consider adding some to the game for each legend in the future. Apex Legends has already implemented weapon skins that evolve based on the number of kills you pick up, as was seen with the Season 1 Legendary Havoc skin, but different stages of a character skin would be much more noticeable for those looking to intimidate their enemies when having a good game. However, until then fans looking for new ways to customize their character will be able to pick up some of the latest skins that have been announced for the upcoming Old Ways Bloodhound event on April 7.

  • Apex Legends player count soars, #NoApexAugust boycott flops – Dexerto

Apex Legends player count soars, #NoApexAugust boycott flops YouTube: Apex LegendsSome Apex Legends players tried to organize a #NoApexAugust boycott to get the developers’ attention. However, player counts have only increased since. Apex Legends Season 14 is right around the corner, and hype for the game has been reignited within Apex’s massive player base. However, some longtime fans of Apex Legends have attempted to start a #NoApexAugust boycott campaign to get Respawn’s attention. The point of this campaign is to convince Respawn that spending more time on polishing their game is important, and that working through some of the bugs in Apex Legends is just as important as releasing new content. Since the start of August, Apex Legends’ player count on Steam has only risen. Granted, 7000 or so additional players isn’t a huge increase when compared to the over 330,000 concurrent players at peak hours, but it means the #NoApexCampaign isn’t going great. We only have access to Steam charts here, but, considering that Steam is such a prolific platform for PC gaming, this increase in player count holds a lot of weight. It’s also important to consider that the new content for Season 14 hasn’t even been added yet. Sweeping, game-changing buffs and nerfs are coming soon, along with a new Legend, Vantage, and a new and improved Skull Town. The player count is only going to go up with the new season’s introduction. Why should we be boycotting Apex Legends? While it may seem strange for avid fans of Apex Legends to boycott the game with the #NoApexAugust trend, what they’re asking for isn’t exactly unprecedented. For example, Rainbow 6 Siege’s “Operation Health” paused the addition of new content to the game in favor of putting as much development time as possible into fixing long-standing bugs. Despite Rainbow 6 being light on new content for a while, Ubisoft’s focus on the long-term gameplay experience was well regarded by the Siege community. Those who have rallied behind the #NoApexAugust movement are asking for the Apex Legends version of Operation Health. It’s hard to argue against Apex having its fair share of glitches, too like the levitating Seer ultimate. The failure of the #NoApexAugust boycott doesn’t mean that these bugs will never get fixed. However, it does show that most of the playerbase doesn’t care enough about these issues to stop playing.

  • Apex Legends player count is already topping Fortnite and PUBG – Dexerto

Apex Legends player count is already topping Fortnite and PUBG The brand new Apex Legends has got off to a flying start on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. In fact, the free-to-play Battle Royale game can already boast a player count better than other Battle Royale stalwarts Fortnite and PUBG! Apex Legends Player Count Just 8 hours after Apex Legends was available to download on February 4, CEO of Respawn Entertainment, Vince Zampella, announced that the game had surpassed 1 million unique players! Given the surprise nature of the game’s release, along a 23GB+ download, these are mightily impressive numbers. I’m so overwhelmed right now, @PlayApex broke a million unique players in under 8 hours.️️️ Thank you so much for showing up and being part of this with @Respawn you are amazing!! pic.twitter.com/lvNgfwwKhl — Vince Zampella (@VinceZampella) February 5, 2019 How do Fortnite and PUBG Compare? Unfortunately, as Apex Legends is currently exclusively available on Origin, a direct player count comparison is unavailable. Gamers are able to track concurrent player counts on Steam. The same problem arises with Fortnite which is available through the Epic Games store. Nevertheless, we can piece together announcements, leaks and live information available to at least somewhat paint a picture as to how they all compare. On top of the 1 million unique players after just 8 hours, it was also announced that after 24 hours, Apex Legends, had hit 2.5 million unique players and had a peak of 600,000 concurrent players. These statistics were confirmed on an EA investors conference call by EA CEO, Andrew Wilson. It wasn’t stated which platform this applied to but it is reasonable to assume this was across all platforms, specifically PC, PS4 and Xbox. PUBG Player Count Gamers have wildly different opinions of PUBG. However, despite this, the game has averaged over 450,000 concurrent players over the last month. Moreover, this is only the steam platform. Previous to December 2018, PUBG had seen 10 consecutive months of player count decline. The new snow map, Vikendi, resulted in an increased player count for the months of December and January. However, the most recent figures suggest the player count is falling again. Fortnite Player Count Back in September 2017, when Fortnite was released, Epic Games announced that there were more than 1 million players in the first 24 hours. This pails in comparison to Apex Legends’s 2.5 million. Read More: Fortnite v7.30 Content Update: Bottle Rockets, Campfire, vaulted items and patch notes for February 5 – Given the infancy of the Battle Royale market back then, the comparison might not be a fair one. EA have the distinct advantage of entering the market with gamers clamouring for more Battle Royale options. Back in November 2018 it was reported that Fortnite had over 8 million concurrent players. However, this may have been beaten just two days ago, at the Marshmellow Fortnite Concert, with an incredible 10 million. Apex Legends has some way to go if it is to compete with PUBG on a long-term basis, let alone Fortnite. It couldn’t have got off to a better start but Radical Heights, which was only available on Steam, also had a positive first week. We know how that ended!

  • Apex Legends player count drops as ALGS hack puts security into question – Dexerto

Apex Legends player count drops as ALGS hack puts security into question Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends’ player count has dropped after a massive hack on ALGS’ pro lobbies, putting into question the game’s security. On March 17 the Apex Legends community was hit with one of the most shocking hacks a game can go through when several pros were given hacks against their own will in a private server during the last day of the ALGS NA Finals. In the ensuing chaos that came up from it, there were many claims that its culprit used an exploit in Apex Legends’ anti-cheat, of which its devs denied so. Despite it all, many advised to stay away from Apex after the hacks. And as a result, Apex saw its player count drop to some of its lowest peaks ever since the release of Season 20. According to Steamdb and SteamCharts, Apex Legends’ peak player count hovered around 370,949 players. This is in contrast to the daily peaks of 420,000 – 460,000 players that Apex has been consistently getting since the release of Season 20. This means, at its worst, the game has lost nearly 90,000 players from its daily peak. Although it still remains to be seen if it continues over the coming weeks. It’s currently unknown how safe it is for a general player to log into Apex and play a game, as the supposed exploit the hackers are using, an RCE exploit through Apex’s anti-cheat, could potentially expose your personal information to them. Besides the security concerns for players’ personal information, hackers being able to give you aimbots and wallhacks could potentially see your account get hit with a ban, which is what happened to ImperialHal after he was affected by it in the ALGS match. EA and Respawn have yet to update the community on what will happen after the massive security breach.

  • Apex Legends player count dropped by almost 50% on Steam this year – Dexerto

Apex Legends player count dropped by almost 50% on Steam this year Electronic ArtsSteam Charts data shows that Apex Legends’ player count in 2023 has dropped by 44 percent on Steam. Despite developer Respawn rolling out several updates, Apex Legends has experienced a noteworthy drop in players over the last 12 months. Even before the brief server outage in July 2023, Steam Charts showed the game hitting a new low on PC for the first time since December 2021. Ranked changes, unbalanced matchmaking, and other widespread complaints were viewed as the culprits behind the dropoff. However, in the months since then, Respawn has issued Ranked-related improvements and the like. And still, the player count continues on its roller coaster ride of peaks and valleys. Apex Legends’ player count experienced a huge dropoff in 2023 February 2023 saw the popular battle royale grow its Steam player base by an impressive 30 percent, bringing the average player count to over 257,000. According to Steam Charts, Apex Legends hasn’t returned to such a high throughout the last several months. As noted by Apex Legends News on Twitter/X, the game’s average number of players for December tops off at around 143,000 – a 44 percent drop. In response to the post, content creator BirnoOCE attributed the decline in Apex Legends’ player count to two different factors: the content drought and competition from other games. Valve’s rollout of Counter-Strike 2 a few months ago seemingly cut into Apex’s user base. The same holds true for more recent releases such as The Finals, which launched on December 7 and already counts among Steam’s top-played games for the month. Apex Legends shouldn’t be counted out just yet, though. It still sits in the top 10 on Steam, in spite of complaints leveled against its matchmaking, skin pricing, ranked play, and audio errors. For now, Apex diehards can only hope that Respawn can manage to turn things around once Season 20 drops in 2024.

  • How many people play Apex Legends? 2024 player count trend explained – Dexerto

How many people play Apex Legends? 2024 player count trend explained Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends is now five years old, yet despite its age, it continues to be one of the most played titles on the market, and its 2024 player count performs surprisingly well compared to other games. When Apex Legends dropped back in February 2019, nobody could have predicted that Respawn’s first entry into the battle royale realm would be such a smash hit. Releasing at a time when Fortnite dominated the genre, the game offered a different kind of experience, with its three-man squad gameplay setting it apart from its rivals. Since then, it’s survived the rise of Warzone, and new FPS contenders like The FINALS and XDefiant, and remains one of the most popular battle royales in the world. Here’s everything you need to know about how many people are playing it in 2024. Despite these timid expectations, Apex Legends’ player count hit 1 million within the first 24 hours of release back on February 4, 2019. By the end of the first week, it had reached 25 million players, and then 50 million in the first month. Player count as of 2024 In 2024, Apex Legends’ player count is 18 million active monthly players, as confirmed by EA in their FY2024 Q1 earnings call on August 1, 2023. However, in their Q1 2025 earnings call on July 30, 2024, EA’s Chief Financial Officer Stuart Cranfield admitted that the game had seen a “year-on-year decline.” The good news is that according to Cranfield, this decline “improved sequentially” and ended up coming back in line with their expectations. The company did not release new figures for player numbers during this call. Apex Legends’ average player count is dropping This statement from Stuart Cranfield is seen clearly when we take a look at the average and peak player count for Apex Legends. While August did see a 2.79% increase in average players to 120,008 according to SteamCharts, three of the last five months have seen a net loss, with two of those months seeing a 16.5% decrease. The same can be seen when looking at peak player count during this five-month span, with July 2024 seeing a significant drop. In July, the peak player count on Steam was 265,369, the lowest since January 2022. Of course, there is context we need to consider with these numbers and charts. For one, this only includes numbers on Steam and doesn’t take into account performance on consoles like PS5 or Xbox Series X/S. It’s also worth noting that July, when Apex Legends hit low numbers, was the end of Season 21, and with Season 22: Shockwave starting on August 6, it makes sense that it saw an increase. However, the increase of 2.79% does not compare to the 16.54% and 16.45% that took place in June and July respectively. Apex Legends’ player count is surprisingly great compared to other games Despite these numbers trending down, there is still good news for Apex Legends. When you compare it to other FPS games on Steam it still performs surprisingly well and beats out a lot of its competition. Using the 30-day rolling average, we can see in the table below that Apex is still a big player in the FPS scene, beating out a number of big titles on the platform. Of course, as mentioned above, SteamCharts only includes the data from Valve’s platform, so it doesn’t take into consideration how the game is doing on consoles, or other launchers. For example, a lot of CoD and Overwatch players will use Battle.net rather than Steam, so the number is higher than what we see above. Still, it shows that Apex performs well compared to it’s competition, although it’s unlikely to ever challenge Valve’s FPS King Counter-Strike. All-time player count More than 130 million players have dropped into Apex Legends over its lifetime. This figure was last confirmed in 2022 however, and so will be much higher now. On April 14, 2021, Respawn announced that Apex Legends had hit 100 million players in total. This was boosted thanks to the release of the game on Steam and Nintendo Switch. In EA’s earnings call in February 2022, the publisher said that monthly active players in Apex were “up more than 30% year-over-year in Q3.” “With more than 28 million new players joining in the last year and new seasons and in-game events that continue to deliver new experiences to a deeply engaged community, FY 2022 is the biggest year yet for Apex.” While the exact figure wasn’t revealed, we can at least assume somewhere around 130 million total players have now played the game since. What is Apex Legends’ peak player count? Apex Legends launched on Steam in November 2020 and reached its all-time peak player count of over 620,000 in Season 16. We will continue to update this article to reflect player data each month, so make sure to stay tuned on how many players are logging into Apex Legends each day. In the meantime, check out our Overwatch and Valorant player count trackers to see how those games stack up against Respawn’s battle royale. Check our Legends and weapons tier lists to choose the best Legends and weapons in the game to outplay your enemies.

  • Apex Legends player comes up with perfect revamp for Mirage’s abilities – Dexerto

Apex Legends player comes up with perfect revamp for Mirage’s abilities Respawn EntertainmentA proposed tune-up for Mirage’s ability kit in Apex Legends would give the Holographic Trickster better ways to use his decoys for brilliant bamboozles in the battle royale. Respawn have retooled their Legends numerous times since launching the game back in February 2019. Depending on if a character is performing too well or is irrelevant among players, the devs will plan accordingly to buff them up. This is something that’s happened a few times to Mirage, one of the original characters in Apex Legends. In the past, the devs have reworked things like his ult and passives, which proved to be less than stellar in application. With a major Mirage rework reportedly on the way for Season 5, user ‘wicked_fool’ gave an incredible idea for the developers to potentially consider if they’re looking to give the character meaningful power. In this concept, his Tactical Ability ‘Totally Psyched Out” gives Mirage’s decoys a life of their own, in a sense. Although they wouldn’t be controlled, the holograms would be able to do basic leaps and bounds on the environment. Whether it be a zip line, ladder or balloon, the decoy would interact with these objects to help sell the illusion of a retreating player. Although the idea says there would be no cooldown with using the ability, wicked_fool admitted that giving it a 2-second delay would help to keep it from being spammed. Meanwhile, Sleight of Hand would let the Trickster to be cloaked while using consumables and even reviving a teammate. Legends like Gibraltar are starting to get special tools for reviving, and having one for Mirage wouldn’t be a bad idea either. It should be noted that the idea’s creator makes a distinction between being invisible and being cloaked so that he’s “not totally invisible but semi transparent.” The proposed Ultimate might be familiar with Apex players who’ve explored the Mirage Voyage. It would deploy five holograms that “mirror your actions” so as to distract the competition. Expect Mirage to have a huge presence once his rework lands in Apex Legends especially if it resembles the kinds of upgrades in this concept.

  • Apex Legends player comes up with perfect way to implement ranked play – Dexerto

Apex Legends player comes up with perfect way to implement ranked play Respawn EntertainmentRanked play is not something that’s yet been introduced in Apex Legends, but one player has come up with a great way for how it could work if added. Many players of games who have some sort of online multiplayer are fascinated with ranked play, which essentially pits players against each other based on how high they’ve ranked up their in-game skill level. When it comes to Apex Legends, the concept of ranked matchmaking hasn’t really been discussed much, but it’s certainly something that players would love to see added into the mix. How ranked play could work in Apex Legends On April 22, a user on Reddit posted a fully detailed concept for how ranked play could be implement in Apex Legends, and most of the ideas certainly offered an interesting prospect. There would be two main ladders for players to compete in – one that only full pre-set squads of players can queue into and one for solo players to queue and get matched up appropriately ranked teammates. Each player would have their own Matchmaking Rating, or MMR, that would determine their overall rank, which could start at Bronze then move up to Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, etc, with players matched up against opponents that would be in or around their rank. How MMR would work in ranked play MMR would be the center focus of ranked play, as each player’s objective would be to try and increase their MMR and thus level up their rank. While the player’s concept goes into great detail about how MMR would work, the gist of it is that players would gain or lose MMR based on the ratings of the players they eliminated or were eliminated by. Thus, eliminating a player with higher MMR would result in a more significant increase, and getting killed by a player with lower MMR would lead to a noticeable decrease. Why Apex Legends needs ranked play The Reddit user rounded off his post by giving his insight into why Apex Legends needs a ranked mode, which he contends would be beneficial for the longevity of the game. Essentially, a lot of players will likely get bored of constantly playing casual public matches, and will want the thrill of playing against others who are at their skill level with MMR points at stake. This will also lead to a new exciting branch of content on Twitch and YouTube, so players who may not want to play ranked themselves will still be able to enjoy watching competitive action. Will ranked play ever be added? If so, when? While it is likely that Respawn will eventually introduce some sort of ranked matchmaking in Apex Legends, there is certainly no timetable yet for when the could happen. For reference, Epic Games added ranked play in Fortnite well over a year after its release, despite the fact that the game was so popular throughout 2018. Furthermore, as the Reddit user points out, Respawn will probably want to clean up all of the hacks, glitches, exploits, and bugs that are infesting their game before adding a whole new branch of gameplay options.

  • Apex Legends player comes across mindblowing bug that causes teammates to insta-die for no reason – Dexerto

Apex Legends player comes across mindblowing bug that causes teammates to insta-die for no reason Jeffbula’s Blog / RespawnA strange bug has been discovered in Apex Legends that’s causing players to suffer untimely deaths for apparently no reason. Despite the fact that it’s been one of the most popular online multiplayer games since its release, Apex Legends continues to be plagued by a large variety of bugs, glitches, exploits, and hacks. While some of the bugs are minor and have mild effects, others, like the one that’s found recently, can potentially be game-breaking and ruin players’ gaming experience. Player sees teammates die for no reason On May 1, Reddit user ‘thedarkmuse’ posted a gameplay clip from one of his matches in Apex Legends which showed the effects of this inexplicable glitch. In the clip, the player and his squad were looting the supply ship when his teammates noticed a few death boxes stuck between the ship’s main body and one of its thrusters. Deciding to loot those death boxes, both teammates jumped down from the side of the ship to the thruster, but as soon as they got close enough to start looting, they immediately got eliminated and their death boxes added to the stash that was already there. The in-game kill-feed indicated that both players got “crushed,” and despite their third teammate still being alive, they got fully eliminated right away and were never in a knocked state, which means they never got the chance to be revived. Similar to other insta-death bugs This is not the only instance where a bug in Apex Legends has caused players to inexplicably get fully eliminated with no apparent reason whatsoever. It’s been widely documented that certain points on the map have issues with their coding, and when players step on those specific points, they game reacts as if they’d fallen off the map and causes them to be instantly eliminated. Of course, the fact that the Supply Ship can be buggy is a fact well-documented, and it became apparent when a different glitch was causing players to awkwardly slide across its surface and meet their doom. Another example of insta-death bugs includes one that randomly applies a fatal amount of fall damage to players flying down from a respawn ship, an example of which can be seen in the video below. Long list of game-breaking bugs in Apex Legends It goes without saying that experiencing bugs like these can lead to a very frustrating gaming experience, and can eventually cause players to turn away from Apex Legends. While some glitches can be put up with, the truly game-breaking ones pose a real threat to the game’s longevity and integrity, which is why Respawn should make fixing and cleaning up the game a top priority.

  • Apex Legends player claims victory just 49 seconds after match starts – Dexerto

Apex Legends player claims victory just 49 seconds after match starts A player was able to earn a match victory in Apex Legends in less than a minute, thanks to a very odd glitch flaring up in the game. How long a match can take to complete in Apex Legends often depends on several factors, such as the type and skill level of players in the game, where the Circles are on the map, and more. While some matches can wrap up quicker than others, it would be unexpected to see a full game end in less than 10 minutes, let alone less than a single minute. Read More: Apex Legends Black Friday event leaked – However, that was exactly what happened to Reddit user ‘MrE011,’ who got credited with a victory 49 seconds after loading into a Duos match. They did not have to go through an entire lobby of enemy teams, which would have been an impossible feat to accomplish in that amount of time. Instead, due to a bug, there were only two teams in the lobby, one of them being the player. The gameplay footage above starts with the player flying down from the initial Dropship, with the top left player-count indicator showing that there were only two teams left alive on the map. The player then descended into Refinery and began looting when suddenly the match stopped and the victory animation covered the screen: “You are the CHAMPION!” Following that, the match summary popped up on the screen, confirming that the team had placed first with no kills, damage dealt, revives given, or respawns given, and a grand total survival time of 49 seconds. Throughout the whole sequence, the incredulous player was stuck between confusion and laughter at what they were seeing: “Wait, what? It didn’t log me in. Yo, what the f**k happened? Oh, we are the champions. Why? What did we do?” While what happened was obviously the result of something in the game going wrong, it’s not exactly clear what happened to the other team in that match, if there was even one. Regardless, at the end of the day, the player will gladly take the victory and add it to their stats, knowing full well that they would never get another chance at such an easy and quick win. As for the Duos limited-time mode, there is only a short period of time for players to enjoy it in Apex Legends, as Respawn will be taking it back out on November 19.

  • Apex Legends player claims to reveal how skill-based matchmaking works – Dexerto

Apex Legends player claims to reveal how skill-based matchmaking works An Apex Legends player has undertaken a test to try and figure out how skill-based matchmaking works in the popular battle royale title, posting their results on Reddit. Skill-based matchmaking has been a contentious topic among fans Respawn’s game, with fans and professional players alike criticizing the developer’s decision to introduce it during Season 2. Multiplayer gamers are not fans of the use of matchmaking algorithms to match players of similar skill levels, and in an attempt to combat it, one Apex Legends player has decided to test it out on a smurf account and claims that they know how it works. Posted on Reddit by /u/gonnagofarkidtr, the player explained that once they reached Level 15, they were placed in games with high-quality players, such as Apex Predators, but as he kept jumping into lava to eliminate himself, he noticed that the number of top-tier ranked players decreased. According to the player, by the time he reached Level 15, his smurf account had a higher kill/death ratio than his main account. They claim that after 10 back-to-back deaths they no longer saw any Apex Predators in their lobbies, and by 15 deaths in a row, there were no longer any Diamond-ranked players either. For many, skill-based matchmaking is a way to punish more talented players by placing them in tougher matches, while creating matches based on their skill will likely cause the game to prioritize that over other important things such as connection and latency. Of course, this experiment is nothing more than a test, and there’s no way to verify their results, as they may vary from player to player. Respawn Entertainment have yet to address calls from the community to revert the system, or at least reveal how it works to the public, so for the time being, it appears that Apex Legends fans will remain in the dark about how they are placed into matches.

  • Apex Legends player celebrates birthday with real-life Heirloom: “40 years to get shards?” – Dexerto

Apex Legends player celebrates birthday with real-life Heirloom: “40 years to get shards?” Respawn EntertainmentOne Apex Legends player showed off a real-life Mirage heirloom he got for his birthday and the Apex Legends community loved it. Veteran Apex Legends players know just how valuable Heirlooms are, as they are by far the rarest cosmetic item in the game. As such, heirlooms are often held in high regard by the community, with players who’ve earned them showing them off as often as they can. However, one Mirage main was lucky enough to receive an impressive replica Heirloom in real life as a birthday present from their wife. Apex Legend fan gets real-life Heirloom Reddit user Townhero420 posted to the Apex Legends subreddit, showing off an amazing replica of Mirage’s trophy Heirloom. The caption of the post said, “My wife got me an Heirloom for my 40th bday today!” and attached a photo of the glossy trophy. The Apex community flooded the post with birthday wishes and praise for the cool gift, with many making references to Mirage’s in-game heirloom animations. “Happy birthday. Does it do the Porkchop animation?” asked user LEGIONxELECTRO, referencing one of Mirage’s rarest animations. Another user referenced the rarity of Apex’s in-game heirlooms and said, “Damn it took you 40 years to get your shards?” Thankfully, the original poster already earned their in-game Heirloom with Bloodhound, however, they do have a soft spot in their heart for Mirage. “…Fell in love with Mirage the more he talked. Hilarious fellow.” Unfortunately, this real-life Mirage Heirloom doesn’t come with all the bells and whistle’s its in-game counterpart does, like voice lines and holographic fireworks. According to the owner it just “Just sits there shining like a cheap soccer trophy. But I love it and it was 18$. It’s sold by EA though. Probably a lesser version than some.” Regardless of its cost, it seems as though this Apex Legends fan certainly got a pretty special birthday present they’ll cherish for years to come.

  • Apex Legends player becomes first to reach 100k Ranked Points – Dexerto

Apex Legends player becomes first to reach 100k Ranked Points Respawn EntertainmentA former professional Apex Legends player turned Twitch streamer has achieved the highest ever rank in the game’s history, hitting an unbelievable 100k ranked points before the end of the split. As with any competitive title, certain players take their rank extremely seriously and want to climb to the top of the ranked ladder. This is no different in Apex Legends, where reaching ‘Apex Predator’ is an incredibly difficult task reserved only for the best of the best. In order to hit the game’s highest-ranked tier, you need to be in the top 500 players for any of the available platforms. This is entirely dependent on the number of ranked points you have. As there is no threshold to hit ‘Apex Predator’, it means the required ranked points to stay in the tier are constantly going up as the split goes on. Well, an Apex player has seemingly achieved the impossible, reaching 100k points and becoming the highest-ranked ‘Apex Predator’ of all time. Apex player achieves highest-rank ever reached in-game Apex Legends player Trenton ‘lou’ Clements managed to hit the incredible milestone on December 13, making him the highest-ranked ‘Apex Predator’ of all time. “First person on PC to hit 100000 RP in a single split on @PlayApex!, “he tweeted. “Thanks to all my supporters and family that’s helped me through tough times! I am so overwhelmed with happiness and I have worked so hard to be where I am at. Thank you!” The achievement is even more impressive when you incorporate the matchmaking issues ranked players are encountering at the moment. It makes you wonder how long it’ll be before the record is broken as the bar is now set so high. Either way, the Apex Legends community will be tipping their hats to Lou for setting a record that defies expectation and will, undoubtedly, hold its positions for a long time to come.

  • Apex Legends player banned after abusing bug while streaming – Dexerto

Apex Legends player banned after abusing bug while streaming Streaming on Apex Legends player was recently banned after having publicly demonstrated the use of a new exploit made possible in the latest update. When Season Three of Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends was released on October 1, a slew of new content was introduced. Along with the new additions came an assortment of fresh bugs. One up and coming streamer was recently met with an untimely ban after the Battle Royale community caught onto his antics. Abusing an age-old exploit, Twitch streamer ‘d4arkpsych0’ was banned from Apex Legends in the middle of a broadcast due to his cheating ways. With certain matches not going in his favour, the exploit has led the streamer in focus to leave his games early in order to avoid losses on his overall record. With numerous instances of the exploit displayed throughout his since-deleted broadcasts, the streamer was met with a ban in the middle of a match. Raising his hands in surprise and repeatedly yelling “what,” he appeared befuddled that his own exploitative actions were the cause of his account being denied further access to the game. Put on blast by Apex Legends professional Jack ‘WACKO’ Middleton, multiple clips can be viewed that highlight the streamer quitting out of the game to avoid racking up losses. Additionally, fellow Apex pro Markus ‘Fjeldern’ Fjeld drew attention to a moment throughout the broadcast where the streamer opened his emails in search of an email explaining his ban. “Looks like he’s been signing up to get some cheats also,” the Battle Royale pro exposed. • Apex Legends player bamboozles enemies pretending to be MRVN easter egg – Dexerto

Apex Legends player bamboozles enemies pretending to be MRVN easter egg Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has devised a clever plan to confuse his opponents by pretending to be the MRVN easter egg on Olympus’ map. It’s fair to say it was an overwhelming success, bamboozling hordes of enemies. Season 7 of Apex Legends launched on November 4, and with it came the brand new map, Olympus. As with any Apex map, Respawn packed in a few surprises for fans to discover while they play. One such easter egg is the de-activated MRVN robot, located in the island’s Maintenance area. For fans, this discovery was extremely exciting, as it was the first MRVN robot besides Pathfinder that had been found. On top of this, Respawn also made the easter egg destructible, so players could kill the de-activated robot if they wanted to. Apex Legends player uses MRVN robot to confuse enemies A thread posted to the Apex Legends subreddit has revealed a trick to confuse opponents using Pathfinder and the MRVN easter egg. At the time of writing, the post has over 8,000 upvotes and nearly 200 comments. Where most players just saw a simple easter egg, Kam1yo saw an unmissable opportunity. He decided to play as Pathfinder and replace the MRVN easter egg with himself to see if his opponents noticed. The simple trick was incredibly effective with countless opponents running past him, with some even stopping to take a look at what they thought was the MRVN easter egg. At one point, he even opted to punch an enemy before once again resuming his position as the MRVN robot. The opposing Mirage was left completely clueless, unaware of what had occurred. It’s fair to say the clever trick was an overwhelming success and had numerous Apex players completely confused. However, this is perhaps something that players will now be wiser to since its discovery and the popularity of the Reddit post. Countless players will now be taking the opportunity to pretend to be MVRN. Now, though, it seems as if your best bet is to take out the robot whenever you enter the room from now on. After all, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

  • Apex Legends player apparently perma-banned from EA games for typing “stfu” – Dexerto

Apex Legends player apparently perma-banned from EA games for typing “stfu” EA / Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has gone viral and sparked debate after sharing their permanent ban from all EA games, caused by a chat message that EA deemed in breach of their harassment rules. In a Reddit post on November 19, user THEVAN3D shared their ban message, which shows EA issuing a permanent account ban, after they found he had typed ‘stfu’ in chat in Apex Legends. The message read, “We consider this to be harassment. You can no longer play EA games on this account.” The post quickly gathered steam, soon being shared around in other subreddits and social media. The player confirmed that the ban meant he was unable to access the EA App, rendering all his other games unplayable. EA issues perma-bans for Apex chat messages As the post went viral, others shared similar experiences, however, it became clear that this permanent ban was the result of accumulating multiple temporary bans beforehand. Although THEVAN3D claims he has only ever been issued one previous ban, also for chat messages, others claimed that it was a three-strike system. Another player also revealed they had been issued the same permanent ban from all EA games, after typing “Mfs trash” in game chat. However, they confirmed it had been their third such messaging strike. However, THEVAN3D claims that this was only their second ban, with their previous one a temporary suspension for writing ‘xtfu’ – misspelling the intended ‘stfu’. “[I had a] previous account suspension for same reason,” they said. “The account is clean. I never used cheats or done anything else. Just saying f**k a couple of times. And now I’m locked out of my account. not being able to access even single-player games.” EA requires all players to agree to their “positive play charter“, which essentially governs respect, cheating, inappropriate content, and the law: Treat Others With Respect – Our community is diverse. Everyone should feel like they belong. – Keep Things Fair – Winning is much more satisfying based on your own skills. – Share Clean Content – Create and share stuff that’s appropriate. – Follow Local Laws – Keep it legal in our games and services, just like you would IRL. – EA does indeed state that breaching these rules could lead to “restrictions on your account” or even “take away your access to certain or all EA Services.” But, many players feel such a ban, encompassing all EA games, is too severe for messages like “stfu” or “mfs trash.” One player said, “banning someone for saying ‘stfu” is f**king ridiculous. Apex community is soft.” Another argued, “Saying stfu is not harassment though.” EA, clearly, disagrees. The banned player reached out to EA support to appeal, but was given a simple response: “After thoroughly investigating your account and concern, we found that your account was actioned correctly and will not remove this sanction from your account.” Last year, players reported that they were being banned for using the name “Andrew Tate” as their username.

  • Apex Legends player accidentally finds best hiding spot on Kings Canyon – Dexerto

Apex Legends player accidentally finds best hiding spot on Kings Canyon EAFinding good places to hide can be difficult at the best of times in a fast battle royale experience like Apex Legends, but one player appears to have found one of the best hidden crevices on Kings Canyon – completely by accident. Keeping a note of best places to camp it out can be helpful for a number of reasons in the Apex Games. Whether you’re being shot at, are on low health, or would like to sit back and assess the situation before going on the aggressive, knowing the safest spots on the map can be a huge advantage. While Kings Canyon has been available – in several forms – since launch, it has also been made unavailable to play on for periods of time as well. So, not everybody will be completely aware of the best hiding spots. Now that it’s back and can be played regularly, this is definitely one to keep a note of. Reddit user ManlySyrup was fired at on the game’s original map, from multiple targets, before firing off a few smoke grenades to make a stealthy exit. Moments later, the player realized they were still being chased, until they fell into a very handy hole. Using the rocks to shield them from enemy sights, the Bangalore managed to escape the attack without elimination – which looked certain just seconds before. Where is the hiding spot? If you would like to check this spot out, it’s located in the North of Kings Canyon – right next to the river. Using the handy map we’ve put together below, all you have to do is drop into the battle royale, head over to a nearby area to loot up (you don’t want to visit here unarmed), and then see it for yourself. So, there you have it! Hopefully, it will be as useful as it was for this player and help you secure your next victory. Kings Canyon is quite a tight map to play on and teams are always never too far apart, so having hiding spots like this up your sleeve is never a bad thing. For all you know, it could be the difference between life and death.

  • Apex Legends player accidentally discovers lifesaving Vantage trick – Dexerto

Apex Legends player accidentally discovers lifesaving Vantage trick Apex LegendsVantage is brand-new to Apex Legends so players are still uncovering the best methods to put the Sniper to use. While searching for rat spots on Kings Canyon, one player found that this Echo Relocation tick can be quite the lifesaver. So far in Season 14, Vantage hasn’t been able to go a day without some new kind of movement technique being discovered in her kit. Whether it be instantaneous superjumps or an odd spot of wall running, players have been putting the Pagos-native through the wringer and in doing so have struck pure gold. This time though, hypospadias0 was just trying to hunt down some fun hiding spots when they accidentally fell off the map but saved themselves thanks to Echo Relocation. Apex Legends’ Vantage is basically immune to falling off the map Just as they slipped off the side of the map, the curious Vantage player sent her friendly companion Echo upwards toward safety and triggered the Sniper’s tactical ability. They continued to fall as the ability charged, but once it activated they came boosting back up toward the ledge and were able to scurry up the railing and back onto solid ground. The distance traversed was massive at its peak, meaning that Vantage players may have even more security from falling off the map than Pathfinder does with his iconic grappling hook. This little tip might not be as mind-blowing as some of the other early Vantage discoveries, but it’s certainly more practical to pull off than many of those more complicated techniques and could end up saving tons of lives before it’s all said and done. While this might not have started off as a stress test for the tactical ability, there’s no doubt that the community will take note of just how far the young woman can travel when making it back to her adorable companion.

  • Apex Legends planning to add gifting feature between players for in-game items – Dexerto

Apex Legends planning to add gifting feature between players for in-game items Respawn EntertainmentThe ability to gift Apex Legends skins and other goodies has been a fan-requested feature for the longest time, and Respawn has confirmed it is something they are working on. Respawn Entertainment has admitted that gifting is something they’ve wanted in Apex Legends but they’ve been careful about introducing it into the game. With Season 14 on the horizon (no pun intended) and Apex adding a new name to the roster in Vantage, lots of changes are coming in the Titanfall-inspired battle royale shooter. As well as everything arriving in the new season, the devs confirmed in a Season 14 press event that they are not only interested in bringing gifting to the game, but it could be sooner rather than later. Gifting is coming to Apex Legends Apex Legends Design Director, Evan Nikolich, discussed how gifting is an aspect they’ve been attempting to incorporate for some time. “[Gifting] is actually something we’re working on actively right now. It’s something we’ve been trying to get in the game. It’s a more complex issue than just adding gifting, how do we make it fair and give it the right motivation?” Dealing with monetary transactions such as this obviously deals with sensitive information and it’s clear that Respawn has treated the process with care and consideration. “Any time we add any kind of monetization vector in the game we want it to be something that’s celebrated, that people enjoy. We want to make sure it doesn’t feel cheap or grindy. So when we add gifting, we want it to be something we can embrace as part of that celebration, that takes time to dial in just right,” Nikolich added. From the sounds of it, gifting is still in the development phase and it could still be a bit of time yet before it’s implemented. On the other hand, when it does arrive, Respawn will launch it knowing that it’s sorted and, hopefully, free of problems, much like the long-awaited level cap increase.

  • Respawn plan Octane stim change to nerf Apex Legends speedster – Dexerto

Respawn plan Octane stim change to nerf Apex Legends speedster Respawn EntertainmentOctane has been dominant in Apex Legends for a while now, but the devs revealed plans to nerf him by changing how his Stim works. Octane is arguably one of the strongest picks in Apex Legends right now. He can get in and out of a pinch in no time, thanks to the speed and maneuverability buff from his Stim. The best (or worst) part is it only costs a small amount of health, which regenerates over time. However, the developers have been tracking his dominance for quite some time, and it seems like they’ve got a much-needed nerf on the cards. If it comes to fruition, which seems likely, it will change how his Stim ability works. The information cropped up after a developer commented about it in a patch note thread. “Octane’s pretty trackable IMO, but we need to hit him a little bit,” he said. “He’s become extremely dominant… so we’ll need to shave a little power off.” In his mind, the best way to do that is by “increasing the health cost for his Stim.” However, since that could break him, he wants to balance it out by “letting you stim again much sooner.” At the moment, there’s a 3-4 second downtime between an old stim running out and a player being able to use it again. If the changes go ahead, this will probably be reduced to 1-2 seconds but cost significantly more health.” For Octane: Respawn are planning to increase the damage from his Stim to 20 (currently 12). Cooldown will be reduced to 1 second, regen is the same. pic.twitter.com/gffNzYbnIR — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) April 10, 2021 Respawn have now confirmed that Octane’s stim will deal him 20 damage, rather than 20, but the cooldown will be reduced to only 1 second. Octane’s pickrate has skyrocketed to over 25%, which is part of the reason the developers are keen to bring him back down to earth a bit. It’s bittersweet news for Octane mains, who will need to re-adjust to the planned changes once they’re added to the game. However, it’s music to the ears of just about everyone else who has had to deal with the speedster’s engage and escape. They’ve been begging for him to get nerfed, and it looks like their prayers have finally been answered — these changes at the start of Season 9.

  • Apex Legends plagued by ANOTHER frustrating error code – Dexerto

Apex Legends plagued by ANOTHER frustrating error code Respawn entertainmentApex Legends players have come across another annoying error following the ongoing and still unfixed ‘code:leaf’ drama. While no multiplayer game is without its glitches and errors, Apex Legends has recently seen a string of issues that has left players frustrated. Due to the complexity of these kind of games, developers often use special code names for each error, so that they are easier to suss out what’s specifically caused it. But these names often leave players wondering what the error actually is. ‘Wheel’ the constant error codes ever be fixed? After being kicked to the menu with a server time out, players are being fronted with a new error called “code:wheel”, fresh off the frustration of the infamous ‘code:leaf’ fiasco. Players began reporting the error on Reddit recently, as they frustratingly tried to figure out what’s causing it. “Conspiracy theory: they simply changed the word leaf to wheel while they’re still coming up for a fix for it.” user ‘Rumtumjack’ theorized one one of the many posts about the issue. Not all players are letting their frustrations get to them and have instead decided to have fun with it instead. A Reddit user by the name of ‘Unclaimed_income‘ made a post mocking the error code. “Should I spin my Ps4 until it works again?” the caption reads. In their post, they also added a spinning wheel gif to the Error screen, as wheels have often been used for loading or errors in software, such as Apple’s infamous pinwheel of death on its products. Why is Apex Legends so buggy lately? The new error code comes fresh off the ‘healing cancel bug’, as well as Mastiff not counting towards challenges. Players are also frustrated with the ongoing muzzle flash issue. The problem with the flash is that people are unable to see their enemy, as its effects are so large that it blinds players when in battle. Hopefully these ongoing bugs and errors get resolved soon, as Respawn seem to be actively trying to address them as quickly as it can.

  • Apex Legends “pit of death” discovered on World’s Edge, but there’s a way out – Dexerto

Apex Legends “pit of death” discovered on World’s Edge, but there’s a way out Respawn EntertainmentA hole found on World’s Edge has been described as a “pit of death” for Apex Legends players who fall in. Luckily, however, it’s not exactly doomed if you happen to come across it. Death-spots in Apex have been spotted all the way back to the original Kings Canyon back in Season 1. While unfortunate for people who randomly fall in, it’s reassuring that Respawn tends to patch them out once they become aware. With an active eye on the Apex subreddit, one can only hope that’ll be the case for the latest pitfall that players have been discovering near WE’s Epicenter. Reddit user ‘Nezan’ showed how silly Legends like Caustic can look when he get himself trapped in the errant hole – and how trying to help a teammate out is a fool’s errand. “Beware! Pit of Death in World’s Edge!” Nezan quipped, showing the clip that he was going to send to the devs. They explained how throwing everything from frag grenades to Octane’s jump pad – which admittedly, had some level of success. The chaos from trying to get Caustic out eventually saw Nezan’s Lifeline finding herself in the same predicament, although something managed to pry at least one of them free. While this is the perfect job for a Pathfinder Zipline or Wraith Portal, these aren’t readily accessible with every team comp. Other people who’ve encountered the same so-called pit of death, had a better time getting out than Nezan and imparted some much-needed wisdom for getting out. “You can get out of there,” user ‘auchenai’ chimed in. “Climb ice wall to the east then change direction to south in the middle of the climb. Can be done with every Legend.” If you’re similarly trapped in the bugged World’s Edge spot, then make sure to face the south wall that can give you just enough elevation to possibly escape. Until it gets patched out, it’s best to avoid any rotations that can force you in this corner, lest you be the next Apex player to get stuck.

  • Apex Legends ping system change would make team rotations simple – Dexerto

Apex Legends ping system change would make team rotations simple Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has revealed a new tool that Respawn Entertainment could introduce to the game to improve their already-excellent ping system. When Apex Legends launched back in February 2019, one of the most popular features in the game was its ping system, which could be used to communicate with your teammates and alert them to enemies or loot without the use of voice chat. While many praised Respawn for the system, that doesn’t mean it can’t be improved, and a fan of the game has come up with an ingenious idea that would guide teammates to the items you were pinging. Suggested by /u/Baby_Pigman on the Apex Legends subreddit, the system would include the ability to place pings on that map that would include a marked path for your teammates to follow. /u/Baby-Pigman suggests that this would be perfect for informing teammates of where you intended to push next as a team, or to mark a location that your trio should retreat to if you’re under attack from enemy players. The path wouldn’t appear for enemy players to follow, and would only guide players on your team to the location of the waypoint, so there are no concerns of opponents using your marker to follow your team. While this idea would act as a quality of life improvement for the ping system, the game’s current version is extremely popular – so much so that Epic Games implemented an almost identical system into their popular title, Fortnite Battle Royale. Whether Respawn Entertainment would ever choose to implement this idea into their game is unknown, but the developers have yet to make any major changes to the system since the game released so it’s possible they could adopt an idea similar to this in an attempt to freshen it up.

  • Apex Legends pick rates spark fears one Legend will be “extinct” in Season 15 – Dexerto

Apex Legends pick rates spark fears one Legend will be “extinct” in Season 15 Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment has been urged to take action before Apex Legends Season 15 as players fear one of the game’s Legends is on the brink of extinction. Pick rates are among the most popular sets of Apex statistics and are regularly monitored by the community, especially when new buffs or nerfs are introduced for a character. These stats can show when a Legend is being picked more than others and also the trends that form on a season-by-season basis. The latest data has been doing the rounds on Reddit as the community fears Crypto is nearing a point of no return, in terms of his popularity. Apex Legends players want Crypto changes in Season 15 On September 28, a user wrote: “Next season Crypto mains will be extinct.” The image they uploaded showed a downturn of 10%, meaning a large chunk of Crypto mains have turned their back on the Legend in recent times. By contrast to the rest of the roster, just 1.2% of players are now jumping into matches as the Surveillance Expert. Crypto mains want a buff Those who now play with other Legends have suggested tweaks that could, once again, boost the popularity of Crypto. One said: “This might be dumb but after playing Vantage and being able to control her bat I was kind of wishing he could have two buttons one to move his drone and the other to tell his drone where to look so he doesn’t always stay in his drone.” Another said: “Also, why can’t he heal while he sends his drone out?” Back in August, Apex Mobile players left those on console and PC extremely envious after boasting about Crypto’s capabilities in the handheld edition of the game. His “busted” abilities – which include a drone following him – are among the many changes recommended by those not playing Apex Mobile for successive seasons. With interest in the Recon Legend falling to unprecedented lows and many now worried about his future, it remains to be seen if Respawn will step in with changes for Season 15. Crypto mains will be crossing their fingers meanwhile.

  • Apex Legends pick rates: Most popular Legends in Season 22 – Dexerto

Apex Legends pick rates: Most popular Legends in Season 22 Respawn EntertainmentSeason 22 of Apex Legends has arrived, and the latest pick rates will tell you which Legends are dominating the meta right now. Pick rate data can be valuable for players across all experience levels in Apex Legends. It’s handy for anyone looking to switch up the main Legend they’re using. The pick rate numbers are pulled from a database of 25 million players, so while it doesn’t include the entire player base for the battle royale, it’s still a big sample size that offers some great insight. Apex Legends Pick Rates Here are the current pick rates for each Legend as of August 7, 2024. Make sure to check back regularly as we’ll keep you updated as the percentages change and various pick rates move up and down. Pick rate data via ApexLegendsStatus. The most used Legends in Apex Legends Season 22 As of the start of Season 22, Pathfinder is the most popular Legend in the battle royale. The movement specialist has sat high in the meta for a while and now reins at the top of the list. Octane and Lifeline are following just behind in second and third place respectively. While Mad Maggie had a big popularity boost in Season 21 thanks to her upgrades that drastically changed her entire kit, her pick rate has since dropped down the list. Finally, rounding out the top 5 pick rate placements are Wraith and Bloodhound. Most played characters A higher pick rate doesn’t always equal a more effective Legend, but the current build of the game has seen the same few characters occupy the top spots for a while now. While mainstays like Wraith, Octane, and Pathfinder are still around, there’s always a fluctuation in the order. Wraith Wraith was the face of the game back at launch, and it’s easy to see why. Her abilities have yet to be replaced or challenged, even by Ash, with her portal allowing for smooth and strategic rotations. Alongside her phase, you can take more risks and still retreat with your life intact. Wraith hasn’t exactly stuck around in the pro meta, and the slew of nerfs that have hit her over the years since she dominated when Apex was released have knocked her down a peg. However, she remains a popular and fun pick for most players. Pathfinder Pathfinder has slowly managed to reclaim his spot as the top mobility-based Legend in Apex Legends. Ever since Season 5, Respawn has continued to adjust Pathfinder’s abilities while also giving other Recons Legends like Bloodhound, Seer, Crypto, and Valkyrie his original ability to scan for upcoming ring locations. Starting in Season 16, his speed on ziplines was doubled, and he can place his ultimate twice as far, which undoubtedly gave him another boost to his pick rate. Additionally, while the friendly robot can no longer interact with Survey Beacons as he is now classified as a Skirmisher, he can instead see inside of incoming Care Packages to shorten his Ultimate’s cooldown. Octane Octane often finds himself in the top spot of the most picked Apex Legends characters. He is a consistently high-picked Legend in Apex despite the nerfs he’s received since the game’s release. His easy-to-use and highly effective abilities make for great solo play but also mean that he fits right in with team-based matches. • Apex Legends pick-rates force players to demand Newcastle buff with Season 14 – Dexerto

Apex Legends pick-rates force players to demand Newcastle buff with Season 14 Respawn EntertainmentRecent pick-rate figures for Apex Legends Season 13 reveal that the game’s most recently added character, Heroic Defender Newcastle, is in desperate need of a buff with Season 14. Apex Legends’ unique and diverse character pool is one of the most acclaimed aspects of the battle royale, with fans always keen to try out new Legends as they drop and even shake up their main character. Naturally, though, we see metas emerge in which the strongest Legends are typically most-used, while the weakest barely get a look in. While characters like Rampart and Crypto have long found themselves at the undesirable end of the Apex Legends spectrum, the least-picked Legend in the game is now, remarkably, the most recently added. Apex Legends fans call for Newcastle buff amid awful pick-rate The character in question is Newcastle, who was added with Season 13. While he started off fairly popular, he has fallen away massively as the season has developed, now sitting at a pick-rate of just 1.6%. That’s lower than some of the game’s most historic undesirables – with Crypto marginally higher, Mad Maggie at 1.9% and Rampart at 2.3%. The result was, understandably, fans calling for prompt and meaningful buffs to Newcastle when Season 14 drops in August. One player suggested he’s simply a more awkward version of Gibraltar, saying: “His ability is a bit more technical than Gibby’s and needs a buff for sure. But for now if you’re being chased, throwing down at your feet helps keep the fire off you.” Another said that the issue with his shield is how easy it is to destroy: “The number of times… I throw a shield at my feet and it just gets burned and I die. Whereas with Gibby that would never happen. It seems to me like in lobbies with worse players Newcastle actually does worse.” Respawn have thus far been tight-lipped about the changes coming with Season 14 but, as it approaches, we expect details to creep out. Here’s hoping a Newcastle buff will be high on the agenda.

  • Apex Legends physical edition: Release date, price, skins and more – Dexerto

Apex Legends physical edition: Release date, price, skins and more EAApex Legends is officially making its way to retailers with two different physical versions – Lifeline and Bloodhound – and will each feature different exclusive cosmetics. When Apex Legends burst onto the scene in February, it did so as a free downloadable game, competing directly with Fortnite’s model. EA has now made the decision to sell retail versions of the game for $20, possibly as a way to scoop up some holiday sales as they would make an excellent Christmas gift. Lifeline or Bloodhound? There are two separate versions for sale that will allow players to choose between two fan-favorite characters in Lifeline or Bloodhound. Each copy will cost the same price but will come with a different set of cosmetics. You’ll have to choose what character you like more or you have the option to drop $40 and get them both. What are the contents? Each bundle will come with 1,000 Apex Coins but the cosmetics are completely different. Each copy will come with a Legendary character and gun skin, a banner, and a badge. For a better idea of what to expect with each edition, you can take a look at them below. The official Apex Legends Twitter account also revealed what all the cosmetics look like. The Lifeline Edition Legendary Guardian Angel Lifeline skin – Legendary Chooser of the Slain Flatline skin – Exclusive Winged Guardian Banner – Exclusive Angel Struck Badge – 1,000 Apex Coins – The Bloodhound Edition Legendary The Intimidator Bloodhound skin – Legendary Wrath Bringer Prowler skin – Exclusive Feeling Impish Banner – Exclusive Tormentor Badge – 1,000 Apex Coins – EA says you’ll have to choose between an angel or a demon, and that appears to be an accurate description of the two skins. Perhaps down the road, we could end up seeing even more Legends featured in retail bundles like this. When do the physical editions come out? Apex Legends Lifeline and Bloodhound editions will hit store shelves on October 18 where they’ll be available at every major retailer. It’s not clear if either version will come with an actual disk to pop into your console but you will be able to get a sweet looking game case out of it. You can read the full announcement by taking a look at EA’s blog post here.

  • Apex Legends physical edition: Everything we know – leaks, skins and more – Dexerto

Apex Legends physical edition: Everything we know – leaks, skins and more Respawn EntertainmentA leak from GameStop conference has indicated that physical editions of Apex Legends are coming, and will bring exclusive skins with them depending on the copy. While unconfirmed, here’s everything we know about them so far. The video game market has recently shifted towards downloading games via platform stores, seeing a fall in the sales of physical copies of games. This can be put down to numerous reasons: ease of use, pre-loading a game prior to its release date and the rise of free games, which don’t necessitate a disc to the same extent. Where has the Apex Legends physical copy leak come from? An alleged leak from GameStop’s Nashville conference came from a Reddit user, appearing to show box art for two editions of Apex Legends, one featuring Bloodhound and the other Lifeline. The images appeared online in late August, and have received considerable attention since then. Lifeline and Bloodhound editions? The two boxes also feature slightly different titles, either the “Bloodhound Edition” or the “Lifeline Edition”. While the leak itself is unconfirmed, many seem excited at the prospect of a physical copy of Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale. Bloodhound and Lifeline are two of Apex’s most popular legends, having been in the game since its release back in February. Lifeline is the in-game medic, while Bloodhound is a tracker. Should there be a physical copy coming, it would most likely feature two of the most popular legends, and ones that have been around since release. What would be included in a physical version of Apex Legends? The various editions appear to suggest that there will be exclusive skins given depending on the edition players pick up. Following the leak of 5 new skins on September 5, it has been suggested that the leaked skins will be the ones players receive depending on which edition they purchase. This is not a particularly new addition to video games, with many others offering exclusive skins for specific versions. It’s unlikely that a disc copy of the game would be included, rather a digital download code would likely be used, similar to Fortnite’s physical editions, which also came with exclusive cosmetics. It has also led to a discussion surrounding whether there is a point to free games being available in physical form, as delivery charges would add unnecessary expense to a free title. Read More: Apex Legends Voidwalker Double XP disabled – However, others argued that collectors would see the value in the physical copies, as well as enabling access to exclusive skins for players that want them. It coincides with some players explaining that they have seen leaked Lifeline and Bloodhound skins in game, potentially from players receiving physical copies early. When will Apex Legends physical edition release? It’s worth remembering that the physical versions are still unconfirmed on Respawn’s behalf, so it’s unlikely we’ll see them soon. Their release could coincide with the start of Season 3, which is expected on October 1. However, as many fans pointed out, releasing at the same time as Season 3, to players who already have the game, wouldn’t completely add up. We may see them as part of an in-game event, similar to the recent Voidwalker event. While it would be fairly unprecedented for a free game to be released in physical form (although Fortnite has done it), it would not be without research on Respawn’s behalf to ensure that enough of the community would want to pick up a copy.

  • Apex Legends ‘Phoenix Cell’ consumable would make healing much easier – Dexerto

Apex Legends ‘Phoenix Cell’ consumable would make healing much easier Chris Burks / Respawn EntertainmentHealing can become much quicker in Apex Legends with the help of a ‘Phoenix Cell’ consumable item that would give a compact boost to players, akin to the Phoenix Kit already in the game. While the Phoenix Kit takes 10 seconds to use, it gives off a massive payoff with full heals and shields for players willing to wait that long. The obvious downside is the lengthy time to use the item, but the benefits make the wait well worth the time in a lot of situations. For players who find themselves in more pressing situations, the Phoenix Cell could be a welcomed answer to getting meaningful heals off in a pinch. User ‘Crish1337’ thought of the concept that shrinks the Phoenix Kit down to a more portable size. The item would let players heal for 25 HP and 25 Shield, one-fourth of what the full-sized consumable allows. The idea here is to have an item with more flexibility than the Phoenix Kit, but have something with a bit more impact than a simple Syringe or Shield Battery. With the new type of heal giving a way to replenish two bars in one item, it would let players hold off on the rare kits if they only need to cap off their health bars. Moreover, with a suggested heal time of five seconds, it would put these items as a clear cut favorite over the multiple items that perform the same functions. To prevent the Phoenix Cell from being too overpowered, the trick to the item would be how many of them can become stacked in an inventory slot, and the time it takes to apply them. “I could get behind this,” user ‘Prodigum’ said. “The usage time would have to be higher than both cells and Syringes. Maybe 1.5 seconds more but a good idea nonetheless.” Other members of the Apex community thought the concept was good but didn’t “think this works well with an already oversaturated loot pool and the current inventory space,” according to ‘mnkymnk.’ The Phoenix Cell could be a great way to subtle mix up how fights go down in Apex Legends, but there would need to be some careful planning to properly integrate it in the battle royale.

  • Apex Legends performance boost incoming for PC players – Dexerto

Apex Legends performance boost incoming for PC players Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players can get a pretty significant boost from NVIDIA’s new Gamescom Game Ready Driver update that improves software optimizations to a few different specs. In celebration of Europe’s largest gaming trade show, the minds behind GeForce released a driver install on August 20 in time for Gamescom 2019 to some of their cards that’ll give PC players affects a beefy upgrade in terms of hardware efficiency. The company behind the popular graphics cards launched a brand new update for their a ton of products in their hardware line which introduces performance enhancers for various PC titles, including Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale. Notably, Apex Legends PC players with the latest line of GeForce RTX Super cards will actually be feeling the effects from the update that will improve performance from anywhere in between 15 and 23 percent at 1080p, according to NVIDIA. Even though the performance boosts on the RTX Supers aren’t as impressive on higher resolutions like 4k, it’ll still provide Legends a better kick out of their graphics card to get a leg up on the competition. The update will give players affected by it more frames out of their graphics cards, which could be useful, especially in a game that’s been creating frustrations because of bothersome screen effects. Furthermore, NVIDIA is also launched the beta for their new Ultra-Low Latency mode for DirectX 9 and DirectX 11 games. “We know that gaming isn’t just about raw FPS,” NVIDIA said in their announcement. “Gamers also want great image quality and faster response times.” That’s where the new latency mode takes over. Once enabled, players will be able “to get the low latency feeling of high framerates, without having to compromise their graphics quality settings or resolution to get there.” Read more: Rudeism plays Apex Legends with a fake leg – With the Ultra-Low Latency Mode, players the option to get “just in time” frame rendering so that there’s less frames in the render queue. This results in “new frames (being) sent to your GPU sooner, reducing latency and improving responsiveness.” Apex Legends players looking to get better performance from their PCs will definitely have something to love in the Gamescom Game Ready Driver update.

  • Apex Legends fan perfectly captures Bloodhound with freehand portrait – Dexerto

Apex Legends fan perfectly captures Bloodhound with freehand portrait Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends fan offered their take on one of the game’s most fascinating characters, Bloodhound, which incredibly captured the mystery and intrigue they bring to the game. Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale features a wide array of colorful Legends each with unique personalities. But Bloodhound stands out as the enigma of the cast with their cryptic past and obscure charm. With that in mind, Reddit user ‘jssr95’ was able to create a stunning image of the Technological Tracker in action with an art style that perfectly compliments the Legend’s mystifying persona. The sketch was made using only pencils, but it seems it was the right weapon of choice to tackle the portrait since it gives Bloodhound an incredibly ominous vibe. The artist took a couple of creative liberties by giving them a battle-tested sort of look with a ripped left sleeve and a cape that’s definitely seen better days. Bloodhound is accompanied by their unnamed avian partner and looks to be in the middle of a hunt due since they have their knife in hand while taking a hard skid across the ground. The image is all the more impressive considering jssr95 committed five hours to make the freehand sketch of Bloth Hoondr, saying: “Made this one completely from scratch. No reference or studies.” Jssr95 also mentioned that there could be a few more renditions of other Legends if people liked the post. With his sketch so far amassing about 30,000 upvotes with a couple gilds to boot, it’s safe to say that fans of the piece have another coming sometime soon. Other commenters were quick to request Pathfinder and Wraith for the artist’s next project in a similar vein. Regardless, if their next design mirrors the quality of Bloodhound’s portrait, then fans have an incredible piece waiting for them.

  • Apex Legends’ Peacekeeper shotgun can outperform snipers from long-range – Dexerto

Apex Legends’ Peacekeeper shotgun can outperform snipers from long-range Apex Legends players have known for a while that the Peacekeeper shotgun is more than reliable at short range, but a comparison with the Triple Take sniper rifle shows how ridiculous it can be. Respawn Entertainment has a heap of weapons in their battle royale, and most of them specialize in a specific purpose that makes them worth picking up as one of a player’s two weapons. But there are some guns in the game like the Wingman and R-99 that dish out a ton of damage while also retaining insane versatility. With more weapons and items reportedly on the way, it seems like players are starting to eye the Peacekeeper as another gun that can excel in various scenarios. Much like Reddit user ‘Too_Practical’ showed when they took the Firing Range to test out how the shotgun holds up against the Triple Take. Equipping the sniper with a Rare stock, a Precision Choke Hop Up and a Variable Holo, the player waited for the opportune shot at the long-distance target and landed a shot worth 69 damage to the dummy. That’s when they switched over to the Peacekeeper decked out with the Precision Choke and the Variable Holo to take a shot at the exact same distance. Even though the conditions were the same, the shotgun’s damage totaled to 109 points off the dummy. While there’s a ton of caveats that goes into the comparison, like it’s unlikely application in a real-time game scenario, players were still questioning how the shotgun could be so damaging from long-range. “Joke aside, I don’t mind Triple Take doing 69,” one person said. “But PK shouldn’t do 103 tbh. Either they buff the Tripletake or nerf the pk somehow.” “The fact it has potential for sniping/out sniping at certain ranges ON TOP of being the best close-range weapon makes it the best pick up in general,” another user wrote in response to the idea that players wouldn’t pick up the Peacekeeper over a Triple Take for long-range. Some people are already expecting Respawn to nerf the Peacekeeper in response to its insane effectiveness, but it remains to be seen if the devs will bring a balance update soon.

  • Apex Legends Peacekeeper can now ‘Double Pump’ enemies quickly with new hop-up – Dexerto

Apex Legends Peacekeeper can now ‘Double Pump’ enemies quickly with new hop-up Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have discovered that you can “double pump” with the Peacekeeper when the new Kinetic Feeder hop-up is equipped. Season 12 of Apex Legends has finally arrived and it has introduced the 9v9 Control Mode, Mad Maggie, and newly revamped Olympus to the game. While all of these additions have received overwhelming amounts of praise from the community, it’s the new Kinetic Feeder hop-up that’s getting the majority of the attention due to an unintended mechanic that’s been discovered. When equipped with the Kinetic Feeder, players can slide with Peacekeeper and pull off a “double pump” shot on an enemy target. This allows them to dish out over 180 damage in an instant. Kinetic Feeder bug has made Peacekeeper unstoppable Although the Kinetic Feeder is designed to speed up charge-up times and instantly reload a weapon while sliding, it is not meant to remove the delay between the Peacekeeper’s shots. However, as showcased by Reddit user V0lqFelko, it’s doing exactly in its current state and allowing players to dish just under 200 damage in an instant at close-range. The bug involves shooting the Peacekeeper until there’s only one round left in the mag, then it’s just a case of performing the perfect slide towards a target and the weapon will “double pump” an opponent. There’s no denying that this bug is incredibly powerful and is an unintended mechanic, so using it in-game may result in your account being suspended. With the Peacekeeper already being a top-tier weapon in Defiance, this “double pump” bug will need to be resolved by Respawn as quickly as possible. Despite the risk of a ban, it’s likely this mechanic will be abused in Ranked and normal matches if it’s left in the game for too long. Fingers crossed the devs sort this issue as quickly as possible or a lot of players are going to get one shot will full health and shield at close range.

  • Apex Legends PC trick fires Hemlok full auto – but is it ‘cheating’? – Dexerto

Apex Legends PC trick fires Hemlok full auto – but is it ‘cheating’? Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends trick enables players to fire the Hemlok Assault Rifle – a three-round burst or single-fire weapon – in a fully automatic state, but is it fair or should it be considered cheating? Despite its obvious popularity, Apex Legends has suffered from its share of bugs and glitches. This Hemlok ‘exploit’ has been known about since early 2019, but debate has been reignited over whether or not it’s fair, as some users claim it should be considered cheating – and subsequently a bannable offense. The Hemlok is one of stronger ARs in terms of damage output, balanced by its burst-fire and slower handling mechanics. However, with its impressive DPS, the idea of a fully automatic Hemlok is something players will shudder at. But, by simply binding the mouse wheel up to the ‘fire’ command and switching to single-fire mode, players can basically reproduce an automatic weapon’s rate of fire with the Hemlock. SIngle-fire mode is available on a number of full-auto weapons in Apex Legends, but the trick does cause the Hemlok to fire much faster than intended. While nowhere near the fire rate of some weapons – like the R-99 – the combined effect can make the Hemlok even more deadly. However, should the exploit be considered cheating? The glitch has been in the game for a while, suggesting that Respawn are not too concerned about patching it. It is clearly not the way the weapon was intended to be used, but many will argue that the absence of a Respawn response, and the fact that it only requires a keybind change, means it should not be considered ‘cheating’. Many games have glitches that enable players to manipulate mechanics, but are not considered cheating. For example, Call of Duty: Black Ops III’s advanced movement system saw players manipulate the game’s jet packs to ‘G-Slide’ – a move that propelled players forward significantly faster than should have been possible. This quickly became integrated into the professional scene as the most efficient way of traversing the maps, before developers Treyarch patched it. However, it was not considered cheating, despite it being due to a glitch within the game. We’ll have to wait and see what Respawn make of the glitch, as community attention is drawn once again to what could be considered an unfair exploit. You can stay up to date with all the glitches Respawn are monitoring via their Trello board.

  • Apex Legends PC players praise Overwatch 2 for removing aim assist in crossplay lobbies – Dexerto

Apex Legends PC players praise Overwatch 2 for removing aim assist in crossplay lobbies Respawn/BlizzardApex Legends players have praised Overwatch 2 for not having aim assist in crossplay lobbies between PC and consoles, as some would like Respawn to follow suit. While it has been a hot topic for a number of years, the battle between controller and mouse and keyboard users has only gotten bigger in recent years as crossplay has become a bigger thing. The debate is especially prevalent in battle royales like Warzone and Apex Legends, where PC players who actually use keyboard and mouse regularly voice their complaints about controller aim assist. It becomes an even bigger debate when PC players ditch the keyboard and mouse for a controller, giving themselves an even bigger leg up. In some games, like Overwatch 2, aim assist isn’t actually a thing in crossplay lobbies, and that has won praise from several members of the Apex Legends community. And, they’d like to see Respawn follow Blizzard’s switch. Apex Legends want to copy Overwatch 2 ditching crossplay aim assist Even though a lack of aim assist in crossplay lobbies has been a thing since the original Overwatch, it’s sparked back up as a topic thanks to the recent release of Overwatch 2. Former Apex Legends pro Brenden ‘Inhuman’ Hammond even went as far as calling OW2 “more based” than Apex for not having aim assist during crossplay matches. Naturally, this reignited the flames of the never-ending PC vs Console war. “Take notes @PlayApex. Wanna play in PC lobbies? Leave your aim assist at home,” said one. “Aim assist is there on console, but not on pc? If so, that’s so much better,” added another. “Finally, a game that makes sense,” commented another. “The way it should be.” Naturally, some fans took the other view, claiming that things would be fine if Respawn simply altered the strength of aim assist when a controller player enters a PC lobby. “Controller without aim assist is unplayable,” argued one. “PC players who whine about aim assist haven’t tried playing on controller without aim assist,” added another. Given it’s a contentious debate, who knows if Respawn will ever make such a drastic change, but there are certainly players who are all for it.

  • Apex Legends controller players discover another huge advantage over keyboard and mouse – Dexerto

Apex Legends controller players discover another huge advantage over keyboard and mouse Respawn/EAMouse and keyboard players are even more fearful on controllers in Apex Legends, as yet another advantage for controller players is now being used, on top of aim assist. Crossplay between console and PC on FPS games allowed players to interact for the first time, bridged gaps, and unified player bases. However, it also sparked a debate over unfair advantages. Controller players benefit from having aim assist. The feature helps to guide a player’s crosshair on enemies, by slowing down their aim when on target, to compensate for a thumbstick’s lack of control. Some Apex Legends players believe controller players have an unfair leg up. Twitch streamer shroud cited players not having to compensate for recoil, and 100 Thieves NiceWigg argued controller players dominate in close-range engagements. The 100 Thieves streamer has now also given his take on a new advantage for controller players, using Steam binds. New advantage for Apex controller players Professional Apex Legends player Teq shared a clip of a controller player dominating thanks to the use of Steam configs, which players can alter themselves. NiceWigg commented on the post, asking if the movement was done with the “Steam bind stuff.” Steam’s config feature allows players to bind WASD on a controller, opening the door for easier tap strafing. Controller players use the same controls but get the added benefit of keyboard and mouse movement capabilities. Tap strafing provides sharper movements and harder turns than standard slide jumps, using a combination of air-strafing and bunny hopping. If done correctly your character can do a complete 180-degree turn, which is helpful in gunfights. Controller players having the same quick and snappy movement speed as well as aim assist makes any gunfight a nightmare for mouse and keyboard users. Teq argued, “mnk (mouse and keyboard) is just pointless to play at this point.”

  • Apex Legends PC kill leader accused of “wall hacking” in ALGS – Dexerto

Apex Legends PC kill leader accused of “wall hacking” in ALGS Respawn EntertainmentA partnered Apex Legends streamer has been accused of cheating in the ALGS pro league. After a number of clips came to light, pros are calling the world’s PC kill leader out for “wall hacking.” ‘FeuFPS’ is a Brazilian Apex Legends streamer who holds the world’s record for kills on PC. A subject of earlier cheating accusations, he’s now been put under the spotlight as fans and streamers alike suspect wall hacks. Back in February 2022, Feu was initially accused of cheating by fellow pro ‘Stalizy.’ Showcasing a series of suspicious clips, Stal suggested that the kill leader was using ESP (extrasensory perception, also known as wall hacks) during competitive play. Now, those allegations have resurfaced – with a new clip showcasing oddly timed pre-fires. The community is debating Feu’s legitimacy, with some calling for him to be banned for cheating during the Apex Legends Global Series. Apex Legends player accused of “wall hacking” by pros EA Partner 🤝 Cheating on Pro League 🤝 Nothing happens. In the second analyzed clip, Feu seemingly pre-tracks through a rock – at an enemy he shouldn’t even know is there. Stal’s opinion on the footage is clear, as the pro noted EA’s lack of response and explained that “every time we are on his screen, he’s doing suspect stuff and walking like a potato.” On March 12, those accusations returned thanks to a new clip. Apex Legends cheater in the ALGS pro league? Gigantic accusations in the Apex Legends scene as a pro competing in ALGS “FeuFPS” has been accused AGAIN of wall hacking. He’s the #1 kill leader worldwide and has been called out by multiple pros who have notified EA with no response. pic.twitter.com/CRzYxtYUUX — Jake Lucky (@JakeSucky) March 14, 2022 As tweeted by Jake Lucky, another clip of Feu came to light. This time, it was from streamer ‘oPESADELO,’ who said Feu was “looking behind the walls on pro league.” By now, that new clip has been seen by over 100,000 people on Twitter and the community seems divided. While many are claiming these suspiciously well-timed pre-fires are proof of wall hacks, others have argued that the clips aren’t enough for a ban. At the moment, EA and ALGS organizers have yet to respond to these accusations and Feu’s Twitter seems to have gone private. With LAN events planned for this ALGS season, the cheating situation will be interesting to continue monitoring as the online portions of the year progress.

  • Apex Legends PC cheaters are glitching into console lobbies to ruin Ranked – Dexerto

Apex Legends PC cheaters are glitching into console lobbies to ruin Ranked EA / Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have found PC cheaters infecting the console lobbies, ruining their experience. FNATIC content creator Revengeful recently faced a PC cheater, who had glitched into console Predator lobbies. Despite Apex Legends‘ work to reduce the proliferation of cheaters, it’s not a problem that will likely ever be completely eliminated. While these cheaters were mostly found in PC lobbies, they have started to appear in the console Predator lobbies as well. FNATIC’s Revengeful was playing in a console-only Predator game, when suddenly his team was wiped by an outrageously accurate player, player, taking them by surprise. Like most cheaters, the suspect’s aim was crisp and snappy, managing to knock them out almost instantly, and then Revengeful and his teammates realized that the cheater was playing on PC, not console. Playing on Kings Canyon, Revengful, a competitive console player and content creator for Fnatic, made the fatal mistake of trying to challenge the suspected cheater. It was at that moment when one of his teammates started shouting “he’s cheating, he’s cheating.” “Oh my god bro, he’s just beaming bro,” Revengeful said, finding it hilarious as they continued spectating the cheater. After their team was wiped, they continued to spectate as the PC cheater ran rampant against the helpless console players. Ran into a PC cheater glitched into Console pred lobbies.. #ApexLegends pic.twitter.com/sBPaKacwrJ — Revengeful (@Revngeful) May 8, 2022 Although playing against cheaters, especially in high-ranked lobbies, is a common challenge that top players must face, console lobbies are usually somewhat of a safe haven, given the reduced number of cheaters on console. Unfortunately, this particular console lobby wasn’t so lucky. “This guy is insane,” said one of his friends sarcastically, as they watched the hacker mow down more players. Apex Legends Season 13 is around the corner, starting on May 10. As well as new additions like Newcastle, the latest Legend, players will hope that Respawn also continues to work on eradicating cheaters from the game

  • Apex Legends Pathfinder’s Quest lore book release date announced – Dexerto

Apex Legends Pathfinder’s Quest lore book release date announced Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment has teamed up with Dark Horse Books to release a lore-book, centered all around the MRVN robot Pathfinder. [jwplayer dGieJhaz] The 190-page book, called Pathfinder’s Quest, will detail the battle royale character’s backstory, told through him interviewing other Legends in the game. Ultimately, Pathfinder is still trying to track down his creator. Players will know that this is a common theme for the friendly-but-deadly robot, who has lots of voice lines referencing his unknown creator. “Fans will be able to explore the world of the hit game through the eyes of the lovable robot, Pathfinder,” Dark Horse said. “As he chronicles his journey throughout the various environs of the Outlands to interview his fellow Legends—all in the hope of finally locating his mysterious creator. “In Apex Legends: Pathfinder’s Quest, the rich history of Apex Legends is explained by the characters that helped to shape it, as are their unique bonds of competition and camaraderie.” Pathfinder’s Quest release date Pathfinder’s Quest will release on February 2, and you can already pre-order on Amazon for $39.99 for hardback, or $23.99 for the Kindle Version. The release was originally set for December 1, 2020, but was then pushed back. So far, only Pathfinder’s Quest has been confirmed, but it opens up the possibility of more lore books coming in the future for other Legends. Most of the lore in Apex is told through the game’s many trailers, plus smaller teasers in gameplay, such as voice lines. In Season 5, Respawn added ‘Quests’, which were weekly missions that would reveal more about the storyline of the game. The conclusion of the Broken Ghost quest in Season 5 hinted that a new map would be coming in Season 6, set on Olympus, on the planet of Psamathe.

  • Apex Legends Pathfinder skin concept is perfect opposite to War Machine – Dexerto

Apex Legends Pathfinder skin concept is perfect opposite to War Machine Respawn EntertainmentOne Apex Legends player might well have given Respawn Entertainment some food for thought after revealing their unbelievable Pathfinder skin concept, which would make for a perfect addition to Season 4 in a future event. Just like other huge titles like Overwatch, League of Legends, and Fortnite, character cosmetics have been hugely popular since Apex first released in February 2019, with members of the community looking to collect as many as they can – particularly for the legends that are their mains. Now, players who regularly jump into the Apex Games as Pathfinder will know the character has had many incredible skins already, including Omega Point, Quicksilver, and more. However, this concept may also be a perfect alternative to one of the character’s other outfits, according to its creator. Some skins are brought out in sets, too, meaning that they have different styles and colors. One Reddit user, LennySpice, has identified War Machine as one that potentially could have an opposite number, and boy did they deliver with their very own concept design. Posting to the Apex Legends subreddit on March 8, the user revealed that they had named their creation “Stealth Machine” and added: “Always thought there should be a skin opposite to War Machine so I made one.” One thing that they did admit, though, is that the skin concept isn’t really as “goofy” as others that Pathfinder has, which is probably true. With that being said, it would be nice to see Respawn mix it up in a similar way. As seen in the image above, the robot character takes a completely different look, with an almost bug-like shell – similar to a Scizor for those who have watched Pokemon – but in jet black instead. Just like many other astonishing fan creations, it’s worth noting that it is very unlikely to ever seen them appear in-game. One thing that could happen, though, is that developers may release something similar in the future for fans to grab. If you would like to check out the System Override inspired skins included in Apex Legends for a limited time – with the event finishing up on March 17 – read all about it here and see which featured in the trailer.

  • Apex Legends trick gives Pathfinder “perfect accuracy” in mid-air – Dexerto

Apex Legends trick gives Pathfinder “perfect accuracy” in mid-air Respawn EntertainmentPathfinder mains aren’t strangers at making high-flying plays in Apex Legends, but a trick to get perfect accuracy in mid-air could make their jobs a lot easier. Apex Legends, more than any other battle royale, rewards creative movement in the Arena. Making use of the landscape can drastically improve your chances in a fight. Pathfinder is one of those Legends that can take his game to the skies, usually banking on out-maneuvering the opponent to get some clean shots off. But there’s a trick that lets players make use of precise gunplay in mid-air, with an interaction that mirrors a previous glitch tied to Octane’s launchpad. Reddit user ‘HeyoThereFriendo’ saw that Pathfinder can benefit from sliding into his Grappling Hook right before taking off. They advise to slide “into a grapple [since it] gives perfect accuracy,” as evidenced by the back-to-back clips of the two different methods. Equipped with a Spitfire, the user is having a pretty hard time trying to center the spray onto the target below. But after giving a brief slide into his launch, they were able to get a pinpoint-accurate spray off. It should be worth noting that this is for players who’ve been practicing their tracking skills since you won’t have a wide margin for error. However, you can use this trick to surprise some teams while being hard to hit. Using the technique will likely max out Pathfinder’s Grapple cooldown, so make sure you’re landing somewhere relatively safe. Read more: Who is the Season 9 Legend for Apex Legends? – While this is one of the more straightforward tricks, it’s reserved for some of the more aggressive players who are confident in their shots. If you’re one of those players, then it could be your time to shine since Respawn could be tempted to clear out this mechanic if it starts to make Pathfinder a problem in Apex Legends.

  • Apex Legends: Creative Pathfinder grapples make for easy escapes – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Creative Pathfinder grapples make for easy escapes Respawn EntertainmentPathfinder has some satisfying grapple locations in Apex Legends to traverse the terrain with ease, but they can also be used for incredibly effective escapes. Apex Legends fans immediately noticed that the mobility in Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale felt slow and clunky, but that’s because the game has a ton of move sets for players to master. While there’s everything from sliding, wall jumping, directional slides and the like, Pathfinder’s grapple is still the most dynamic way for a player to get across Kings Canyon. Though there are some locations on the map that make for easier transitions into slides and hops than others. Apex Legends YouTuber ‘Mokeysniper’ took a couple of days to figure out the best locations to use the Grappling Hook, and their effort paid off since the spots they found are some of the smoothest maneuvers in the game. But what’s even more striking is the distance they cover that can be used for ridiculous escapes in a tricky situation. Starting near the Cage by hooking the rock going east, Pathfinder can leap over the entire mound while having an entire downhill slope to transition into a huge slide. From there, using the terrain, players can grapple to go from the middle of nowhere all the way into The Farm going north. Similarly, Mokeysniper showed how clipping a tree before going into the Canyons could actually get players on the other side with a few strategic bunny hops to keep the momentum going. If done correctly, they can avoid a whole side of the mountain and leave an enemy team in the dust. Just north of Bunker’s river-side entrance, Pathfinder can hope over the entire compound proceeding the Military Bay 02 doors. It’s crazy to see how with one leap, the Forward Scout can go from desert terrain to the lush river in a flash. Probably the most fun escape in the video is just before heading into the Destroyed Cascades from the canyons. By hooking the mountainside, players can slide all the way down the giant hill to the bottom, easily escaping enemies’ line of sight. Mokeysniper is definitely perfecting the craft of satisfying Pathfinder hooks, but players can also see how useful they can be to avoid foes.

  • Apex Legends Pathfinder glitch takes super jumping to new heights – Dexerto

Apex Legends Pathfinder glitch takes super jumping to new heights Respawn EntertainmentIf you have ever played Apex Legends then you probably have super jumped a couple of times. But a Pathfinder glitch is taking that to new levels as you can jump across the entire map. As part of Season 12, Apex Legends reintroduced Olympus as the map. While it underwent some changes it still is relatively the same. Despite being a larger map, players still utilize characters like Pathfinder to rotate across the land. However, a new bug is allowing players to to turn into Superman and fly across the skies of Olympus. Pathfinder glitch lets you jump across whole map In a Reddit post by ‘LouisGoldx’ the user is exposing a glitch on Olympus that is allowing Pathfinder to basically redeploy from the dropship. As seen in the clip, Pathfinder is All you need to do is lock in Pathfinder uses his grapple to launch into the sky and have free range of where to go. Louis demonstrates how this can be extremely helpful and even provided a guide to do it. They said, “You have to set your grapple aimer just above the cargo so that when you grapple it goes past and comes back.” To put it in simpler terms, you need to make sure you have a cargo loot box in front of you. Then you just need to aim slightly above and use it. When done correctly it will launch you thousands of feet into the air. However, they did note that it can be extremely buggy to pull off during a game. So it may not be the greatest escape tool in a nail-biting situation. While this will likely get patched in Respawn’s next update, fans are enjoying this mechanic while it’s in the game.

  • Apex Legends to patch Arenas map glitch that lets you shoot through walls – Dexerto

Apex Legends to patch Arenas map glitch that lets you shoot through walls Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment is working on a hotfix patch to the newest Apex Legends Arenas map that came with a glitch that lets you shoot through some walls and obstacles. The Apex Legends Monsters Within event patch update introduced a new Arenas map, Encore, set on Seer’s homeworld Boreas. Though it’s been hailed as a gorgeous entry to the rotation, it also came packaged with problematic bugs. The Apex community has noticed that some objects on the map don’t render as they should for some players, letting people see through them and anyone that might be on the other side. It’s not just a visual glitch. Apex players shared clips of their gameplay that showed a constant barrage of fire that easily go through obstacles. They were likened to ‘wallbangs’ from FPS titles like Valorant and CSGO, but that’s not an intended mechanic in Apex Legends. Apex Legends Arenas Encore map bugfix That’s when Respawn Lead Level Designer on Apex, Dave Osei, who goes by ‘StryderPilot’ on Reddit, responded to the issues and confirmed that a hotfix was on the way. “Ugh, I’m sorry. This sucks. We should’ve caught this earlier. Working on a fix,” he said. Video clips show the bug happening across different boxes, boulders, and walls throughout Encore. Additionally, a different clip shows what appears to be a glitched spot on the map where shots can’t get in or out of, regardless of how close the enemy is. Respawn are aware of these issues and currently working on a hotfix to patch out the problems that have been affecting the Arenas map. Read more: Apex Legends Shadow Royale 2021 – The Halloween update has been shaky for Respawn. Everything from the new system to unlock the Monsters Within skins to game crashes has led to angst from their players with some review bombing Apex Legends. • Apex Legends Patch 9.1 to address “frustrating” matchmaking team fill issues – Dexerto

Apex Legends Patch 9.1 to address “frustrating” matchmaking team fill issues Respawn EntertainmentRespawn devs will once again attempt to fix matchmaking and team fill issues in Apex Legends come patch 9.1, hopefully taking care of some of players’ biggest problems with the battle royale. Season 9 has been a bit of a mixed bag for Apex Legends. Yes, we’ve gotten a new Legend in Valkyrie and other fresh content, but a few persistent issues still haven’t been fixed, and players want the studio to address the problems. The two biggest issues players have with Apex right now are matchmaking, and how team fill (or lack of team fill, to be more accurate) can make the game feel frustrating. For example, Apex introduced the Duos playlist permanently in Season 4, and added a “no-fill” option to appease players who wanted a solo experience in early 2021, the only problem is players who go in alone wanting to get paired up often get thrown in by themselves anyways. Some matches will even have more solo squads than duo squads, which after Respawn devs saying that a solo-only mode is “unhealthy” for the Apex, is pretty ironic. The same is true for the traditional trios matches as well, with solo players and duo squads hoping for filler often getting left out in the cold, going up against full 3-stacks. Respawn director of communications Ryan Rigney said devs would be trying another fix for the frustrating bug come patch 9.1 — in response to a Reddit post showing that the team fill problem and matchmaking are the majority of Apex players’ biggest problems. That brings us to matchmaking, or what happens when you do manage to get a full team of three together for the game. In a lot of cases, the gap in skill between players in a single match is completely evident. With an elite few Apex Champions beating down any squad unfortunate enough to run into them. Whether this fix will finally work remains to be seen, but the Apex community can look forward to the end of the month for a possible solution.

  • How to master the P2020 in Apex Legends: tips, damage stats & DPS – Dexerto

How to master the P2020 in Apex Legends: tips, damage stats & DPS Respawn Entertainment / DexertoThe P2020 is hardly something you want to be stuck with in Apex Legends. However, if you find yourself desperate, here’s how you can get the most out of the semi-automatic pistol. We’re not going to sugar coat this — the P2020 is not a gun you want to run for long in Apex Legends. You’ve just dropped in, it’s on the floor, and you need something to fight with. While we recommend you replace it at your earliest convenience, there’s a way to get the most out of the pistol. We’ve got all the tips and tricks you need to know about the P2020 so you can use it, even when you’re in the most sticky of situations. Apex Legends P2020 damage stats The P2020 is one of the lowest damage guns in the game per bullet, and it’s gotten even worse since the removal of the Hammerpoint Rounds hop-up in Apex Legends Season 9. Read More: Best weapons in Apex Legends – At only 15 damage a bullet to the body, and 23 to the head, it’ll take almost an entire 12-round base mag to take down an enemy if you wildly click and pray. It gets out damaged by practically every gun in the game because of this. Nevertheless, here’s the full damage stats for the P2020: P2020 attachments The P2020 doesn’t have many attachments. It’s got your stock-standard extended magazine and a selection of short-ranged scopes. The Digital Threat and Legendary Extended Light Magazine are the best way to make the gun more effective. However, they’d be more impactful on a superior weapon. So, don’t hesitate to swap them over the moment you find one. Extended Light Magazine Common: 14 rounds – Rare: 16 rounds – Epic: 18 rounds – Legendary: 18 rounds – Optics 1x Holo – 1x HCOG “Classic” – 2x HCOG “Bruiser” – 1x-2x Variable Holo – 1x Digital Threat – Good for the first fight Let’s be real; the P2020 is a last-resort weapon. You’ve dropped, found nothing, and you need to start fighting. We’re not going to talk up this gun as the next big thing because it’s arguably the worst gun in the game. Read More: The best Legends to use in Apex Legends – However, it’s better than fighting with your bare fists (debatable, but we’re pretty sure). Be sure to ditch it as early as possible, but if you’re desperate, just hipfire and click as fast as you can. It can get through its rounds pretty quickly with minimal recoil, so it’s good in close quarters before the fall-off kicks in. Use it to finish off enemies rather than open a fight The P2020 isn’t a great weapon in the heat of battle. Even if you’re accurate, it will inevitably be overpowered and out-damaged by superior weapons. However, it can be useful to finish off enemies, especially in early scuffles. The premise is simple. Break an enemy’s armor with your primary weapon, then instead of reloading, switch to the P2020 and finish them off.

  • Apex Legends and Overwatch unite in stunning character crossover – Dexerto

Apex Legends and Overwatch unite in stunning character crossover Blizzard / Repsawn Entertainment[jwplayer OS20Z7tP]Fans of both Apex Legends and Overwatch can finally see how the titles might mix thanks to a stunning set of new crossover skins. Apex Legends and Overwatch couldn’t be more different in terms of pure gameplay. One is an intense Battle Royale while the other is a tactical team-based shooter. They play out in their own unique ways, but do share a few key similarities; both allow you to pick from a lineup of fascinating Legends and Heroes respectively. While players of both games have often clamored for certain features to be ported across, there’s yet to be any real crossover. Blizzard and Respawn Entertainment have carved out their own paths and built massive yet distinct communities. But what would it look like if the two gaming industry giants were to collaborate? Thanks to a fantastic set of cosmetic designs from ‘Hybbleton’, we now have a glimpse at that vision. Four iconic Overwatch Heroes have been transported into the Battle Royale realm with vibrant cosmetics for popular Legends. Each Overwatch skin is applied to the most fitting Legend. Not just when it comes to visual similarities, but also in terms of abilities and personality. The insanity of Junkrat has been applied to the equally ludicrous Octane, for instance. Octane still features most of his standard loadout, but this crossover drops him into the mix with a special Junkrat flair. He has explosives across his chest-piece and an explosiveFrag Launcher in his right hand. These two would certainly be a match made in heaven with their penchant for chaos. Revenant is the next character to receive a unique crossover design in this set. Reaper from Overwatch is translated over as his haunting mask and black cowl are dropped onto the stalking Legend. As though Revenant couldn’t be more ominous, this skin would be sure to give your opponents an all-new fright. Bangalore is perfectly kitted out with a Soldier:76 getup in this design as well. The two characters both come from a military background and even fall in line with similar abilities. One could only picture how devastating Soldier’s Tactical Visor would be in the open landscape of a Battle Royale though. Last but not least, the most charming Legend in the game gets the funniest design of them all. Instead of copying over a similarly invisible character in Sombra, this creation gives Mirage a brand-new D.Va skin. Fit with pink and purple flair, Mirage pulls off the look and even poses with a similar weapon to her Light Gun. Obviously these are just concepts for the time being. Though it would certainly be exciting to have enormous titles crossing over down the line. In fact, the devs at Respawn have already let slip that they’re open to collabs. An official crossover with Valve’s Portal franchise is seemingly on the way soon, as Apex makes its way to Steam later in the year.

  • Apex Legends overtakes Warzone and Fortnite as Twitch’s most popular BR – Dexerto

Apex Legends overtakes Warzone and Fortnite as Twitch’s most popular BR Respawn Entertainment, TwitchApex Legends has overtaken rival battle royale titles Call of Duty: Warzone and Fortnite on Twitch to become the platform’s most streamed BR. Ever since Season 11 brought new Legend Ash and the spectacular battleground at Storm Point into Apex Legends, players have been diving into the Apex Games head first to explore everything Escape has to offer. One of the best places to do this is on Twitch, where FPS titans such as shroud, Tfue and NICKMERCS are all demolishing their competition to claim the title of last player standing. It turns out that Respawn’s iconic title has managed to beat out the competition since Season 11’s release, too, as it has overtaken both Warzone and Fortnite to become Twitch’s battle royale regent. Apex Legends becomes Twitch’s biggest BR Post-Season 11 release, the title has climbed to the top of Twitch’s “most streamed games” list, as well as ranking as the fourth most-watched game, after League of Legends, CS:GO and GTA V. Using data obtained by SullyGnome, Apex secured a total watch time of 17,007,500 hours, with a peak viewership of 283,675 in the last seven days. This places it above both Warzone and Fortnite, which sit in sixth and eighth place respectively. While Season 11’s release clearly has a lot to do with this spike, this isn’t the first time that Apex has snuffed out the competition. From July to September, the title saw significant growth on the streaming platform. One of the reasons for this was the mass exodus from Warzone following a wave of hacking and seemingly stagnant content. As Apex continues to go from strength to strength, it’ll be interesting to see how other BRs adapt to its meteoric rise to prominence. It sits firmly on top of our best battle royales list, and it looks like it’s set to remain that way for quite a while.

  • Apex Legends out-of-bounds Trident glitch makes games unwinnable – Dexerto

Apex Legends out-of-bounds Trident glitch makes games unwinnable Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have recently discovered a Trident bug on Olympus that allows them to sit out of bounds and out of the storm, making games impossible to win for anyone else. Players are already demanding a fix to the game-breaking bug. Apex Legends has had its fair share of bugs over the years. With maps being so large and so many players doing their best to test the boundaries of what’s possible, the game is bound to break at the seams here and there. However, a recently discovered Trident bug allows players to sit out-of-bounds for the entire match, making them unkillable by other players and the storm. While this glitch only works in a specific area on Olympus, it makes games genuinely unwinnable. Apex Legends players are demanding either an immediate fix or for Olympus to be temporarily removed from the map rotation until the bug is squashed. Apex Legends players discover game-breaking Trident glitch A post on the Apex Legends reddit page has gained some traction, one that depicts a team getting killed by the storm in the final ring without having any clue where the enemy team was hiding. Ultimately, they weren’t able to win the match despite appearing to be the only team in the lobby. With the ring that close, the people in the clip were confused about how they could have lost the game despite not seeing the other team. However, it’s been revealed that those other players were taking advantage of a game-breaking bug. “There’s a new glitch where people can get under the map w a trident. /: hopefully it gets patched soon and hoping nobody figures it out. I didn’t believe it until a random showed me.” commented one reddit user. Other players shared that they’d experienced the bug firsthand, and Dexerto has since verified that the bug is real. In a specific area of Olympus, driving your Trident off the map will allow you to clip out of bounds in an area that’s unaffected by the storm and inaccessible to players. While we won’t show exactly how to do the Apex Legends Trident glitch for the sake of maintaining competitive integrity in matches for as long as possible, here’s what it looks like when you’re out of bounds. Beware of using this bug if you discover how to pull it off, as Respawn have historically banned those who have purposely taken advantage of glitches and exploits. Not to mention they’ve been particularly hard on cheaters as massive ban waves have come in recent times. While this isn’t as obnoxious as the invincible Trident glitch that was ruining games a few months ago, it’s just as impactful and frustrating when it comes to players being unable to win due to a glitch.

  • Apex Legends’ once dominant gun is now “basically throwing” if you pick it – Dexerto

Apex Legends’ once dominant gun is now “basically throwing” if you pick it Respawn EntertainmentThe R-99 SMG’s descent into madness has Apex Legends fans furious, as some players plainly state it “sucks” and question its worth in its current state. Since it arrived in 2019, Apex Legends has consistently been a balancing act for Respawn Entertainment, with new weapons and metas forcing the developers to create the perfect balance. However, the balancing act has seen casualties, the R-99 being a perfect example of that sentiment. What was once a dominant SMG has now converted into a “laughingstock” in the loot pool since the weapon is a shell of itself twenty seasons later. The Apex Legends community has kept tabs on how low the mighty weapon has fallen, with one player lighting up the gun in a scathing post. “The R-99 sucks,” the player simply stated before they followed up with: “Does anyone even pick up this gun?” The rest of the post details the gun’s turbulent history, as magazine buffs were countered by removing the digital threat sight capability and decreasing the damage. “I understand that it was dominating against all the other weapons, but holy hell it’s so bad that if you pick it up, you’re basically throwing the match,” OP ended the post. Apex Legends players around the web gathered around to share their thoughts on the fallen soldier, as players shared more viable options in the Volt, C.A.R, and L-STAR, although the C.A.R does bear some minor hiccups fans aren’t too pleased with. “Useable off drop. That’s about it,” one player briefly commented. Another replied: “The RE-45 is better. Oh, the times have changed.” As many of the replies mentioned, the R-99 dominated lobbies for quite some time, so its current state isn’t the worst outcome possible. However, it would be nice to have all weapons be viable, although that’s quite the challenge.

  • Apex Legends on Steam hits huge player count after Season 7 launch – Dexerto

Apex Legends on Steam hits huge player count after Season 7 launch Respawn EntertainmentWith the release of its seventh season, Apex Legends made its highly-anticipated debut on Steam. After the Season 7 release on November 4, the Apex player population on Steam has skyrocketed to all-time peak of over 110,000 players. Announced earlier this year, Apex Legends officially released on Steam with the launch of Season 7: Ascension. With a brand-new map and Legend for players to enjoy, the popular Battle Royale can now be played on the platform of choice for many PC gamers. Players can carry over all current progress and unlocks from their Origin account, in addition to enjoying the benefit of crossplay with Steam users if they continue using EA’s launcher. While the release of Apex Legends on Steam has been highly-anticipated from the moment it was announced, the game’s statistics on Steam DB make it clear just how popular Respawn’s BR has become. Apex Legends Steam player count Respawn’s BR has enjoyed substantial growth since its release in early 2018. The developer has cited figures like 50 million players just one month after the game’s release, highlighting the BR’s popularity. With the release of Season 7 on both Origin and Steam, Respawn once again expanded the game’s reach and provided new avenues of engagement for players. Information obtained after the game’s release on its new platform shows that the BR’s popularity has not slowed down. As of November 7, Apex Legends reached an all-time peak in players on Steam of just over 113k. That number pushes Apex into the top-five games on Steam in terms of current players. A player population of this size puts Respawn’s title in the company of other Steam giants such as CS:GO, Rainbow Six: Siege, and Team Fortress 2. Building on the success of Season 7 While Season 7 of Apex Legends has been out less than a week, Respawn already has plans to expand their flagship title into new spaces. In addition to the game’s mobile release, Respawn has also confirmed they are still exploring options for console cross-progression, which has been a hot topic in the game’s community since the Steam release announcement. Already a top competitor in the BR space, Apex Legends has once again shown its popularity with the success of its Steam release. Players who jump into the game on Steam can claim an exclusive set of gun charms, available for a limited time.

  • New Apex Legends Olympus POI could be teasing Season 11 map update – Dexerto

New Apex Legends Olympus POI could be teasing Season 11 map update Respawn Entertainment / YouTube: ShrugtalA mysterious new POI has been added onto Apex Legends’ Olympus as part of the Evolution Collection event patch. The parachute pod pays homage to Bangalore’s MIA brother, and could be a teaser of the game’s fourth map. Map teasers are commonplace in Apex Legends, with new objects and POIs dropping every season to tease upcoming reworks. However, the lore surrounding the latest Season 11 teaser which dropped on Olympus, points towards the whole new Tropics map. New Olympus POI located near Gardens teases Season 11 changes The POI, located East of Gardens and between Powerstation East and Welcome Center, is a bright orange “primary parachute pod”. It’s a significant reference for Bangalore, whose brother Jackson is currently MIA after falling back onto a collapsing cruiser. “Huh. This looks like… no. No way. Can’t be,” she says when you approach the pod. There are a bunch of related teasers once you step inside. While the cramped interior has some loot, players are more interested in tidbits like the “contacting origin ship” message on the laptop abandoned on the bunks. These IMC parachute pods have to connect back to an even-bigger cruiser, which might be located on the upcoming Tropics map. Apex Legends Season 11 Olympus teaser dates The new Olympus POI teaser didn’t just drop in randomly with nothing for dataminers to grab either. ‘Shrugtal’ dug in and found four teaser dates relating to the ship. These new teasers will drop on October 14, 16, 18, and 20. As it evolves, players will become closer to understanding not only the origins of the pod, but the upcoming map updates. While it’s dropped onto Olympus, it’s unlikely we’ll see a big rework of the map given recent changes in Season 9. However, a new POI in the pods place may be added. Read More: Apex Legends Halloween event leaks – It’s likely to be alluding to that new map, but only time will tell what is in those teasers, and what challenges players will have to complete to solve the puzzle.

  • Apex Legends Olympus map spot is the best place to respawn teammates – Dexerto

Apex Legends Olympus map spot is the best place to respawn teammates Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has discovered a great place to respawn teammates on the game’s Olympus map, so find out how you can rescue your squad with minimal risk. From Gibraltar bubble shield counters to OP exploits that enable players to heal & revive in Wraith portals, Apex Legends is home to plenty of unique tips and tricks. However, the latest discovery makes respawning fallen teammates much safer. Like most popular battle royales, Apex Legends allows squads to collect a dead comrades banner and take it to a Respawn Beacon. These life-saving locations are dotted throughout the map and can be incredibly dangerous to use. Not only do they leave Legends open to incoming fire, but the noise of the dropship can also alert nearby enemies. This often leads to some incredibly dangerous scenarios, which can result in a frustrating death. Well, this Olympus map spot could make respawning your squad that much easier. Apex Legends Olympus map spot is perfect for respawning teammates Posting on the official Apex Legends Reddit page, one player outlined a technique that squads can use when respawning their allies at Energy Depot. After losing one of their allies, Bansheeblood581 made their way over to the nearby Respawn Beacon. The beacon at Energy Depot is notorious for having very little cover. This can make calling back in your eliminate allies incredibly difficult, particularly if enemy squads are close by. However, instead of clambering on top of the blue crates, the player simply held onto the ledge. By using this simple trick, Bansheeblood581 was able to successfully call in their teammate without having to expose his character model. While it’s a very niche trick, it could save you from being spotted or eliminated during the time that’s needed to respawn your allies.

  • Apex Legends Olympus map guide: All POIs and locations – Dexerto

Apex Legends Olympus map guide: All POIs and locations Respawn EntertainmentThe third Apex Legends arena, Olympus, has finally landed in the Season 7: Ascension update giving players a brand new map to explore. To help navigate the floating city on Psamathe, we’ve compiled all of the points-of-interests (POIs) you’ll need to know before diving in. Reminiscent of when World’s Edge first premiered, Apex Legends players are going to encounter a completely different aesthetic than what they’ve known before. But Respawn didn’t just add a fresh coat of paint to existing elements in Apex. Instead, they’ve introduced expansive POIs while adding in new gameplay elements that spawn near specific places on the map. There are now vehicles in the battle royale in the form of The Trident, that spawns in the outer perimeter of Olympus. Meanwhile, three interconnected gateways called the Phase Runner lets players quickly portal to another part of the map. All POIs Olympus is huge. There are 16 POIs labeled on the map, and within them there are even more places to explore, especially if you’re rotating near a Phase Runner. Player’s won’t be limited to where they’re dropping either, since the circular design of Olympus gives people two to three places to quickly rotate as they move around the map. POIs on Olympus Velvet Oasis – Arcadia Supercarrier – Docks – Power Grid (Primary & Secondary) – Rift Aftermath – Central Turbine – Autumn Estates – Hammond Labs – Energy Depot (Underpass located within) – Golden Gardens – Grow Towers – Orbital Cannon Test Site – Solar Array – Bonsai Plaza – Hydroponics – Elysium – It should also be noted that many of these locales are separated by tight, narrow corridors or bridges; so it’s best to think ahead of how you want to navigate through the city. Trident and Phase Runner locations Knowing how to locate the two new gameplay mechanics in Apex Legends will be key to start formulating strategies or rotations on Olympus. To start, know that the three-person, non-combative Trident vehicles can spawn in different locations throughout the map’s edge. We’ve highlighted where players could find the vehicle in the graphic below. As for the three Phase Runners on the map, players can navigate to Hydroponics, Hammond Labs, or Underpass that’s located near the Energy Depot. There’s going to be a mild learning curve to get used to Olympus, but Apex Legends players have a sizable portion of Season 7 to get used to it before Respawn slots in World’s Edge back into the mix.

  • Apex Legends Olympus map change made and nobody noticed – Dexerto

Apex Legends Olympus map change made and nobody noticed Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment shook things up with a variety of map changes in Apex Legends Season 13, though there’s one tweak that has seemingly gone under the radar. As is always the case, the developers of the popular battle royale title announced a series of things that were going to be different when the latest season dropped. This included Newcastle, a number of weapon/Legend nerfs, and buffs. The latest event, the Awakening Collection, also brought a series of new things to the Apex Legends maps. Most notably, a Town Takeover for Lifeline arrived as part of that patch. With that said, another change has been made on Olympus that wasn’t reported in Respawn’s patch notes. Apex Legends secret map change found on Olympus On June 28, a secret shift in the third map in the Apex Games was discovered by the community. One Reddit user – who unearthed the map change – said: “Was this always like this?” They attached a screenshot showing an area where a tower once stood. In the replies, one member of the community said: “They took my crane man. Can’t have sh*t in Olympus.” Another added: “Yo why would they get rid of that,” to which some replied the construction work had ended. “Because the simple construction job is finally done after years of work. Just like in real life…” One user even argued that it was previously used in a way that could give some players an advantage. They posted: “It blocked the area pretty badly. Also, it gave an unfair advantage to the people who had the mobility to get on top of the crane. I especially hated it in the last ring. I think it was fun and I liked it, but I understand it wasn’t in a good place.” The game’s developers have not commented on why the change was made, but the crane has certainly moved. Whether or not there are even more secret map changes like this waiting to be found remains to be seen.

  • Apex Legends Olympus bug makes the map impossible to play – Dexerto

Apex Legends Olympus bug makes the map impossible to play Electronic ArtsWhile loading into Olympus in Apex Legends, one player ran into a strange bug that rendered the map unplayable. The Olympus map originally arrived in Apex Legends at the start of Season 7, the 2020 update that also introduced players to Horizon. Olympus bears many interesting qualities, chief among them being its status as a city in the clouds. Floating above the planet Psamathe, this particular locale can be tricky to navigate. Players seem to enjoy its varied points of interest all the same, however. As such, here’s to hoping one recent Olympus-related discovery doesn’t affect all users. Olympus bug turns the Apex Legends map topsy-turvy In a post on the Apex Legends subreddit, user TelVelin reported a glitch that completely turns the Olympus map inside-out. A screenshot of the bug shows the Redditor trying to launch into the locale. However, as the user put it, “Olympus [was] not feeling good.” Instead of a sprawling city, the player was met with a gnarled image of the metropolis. Street corners and high rises twist every which way in the screenshot, oddly fused into a giant, pixelated glob. Olympus has indeed fallen. One person in the Reddit thread wondered if the problem may have been the fault of the player’s video card. According to TelVelin, though, it was a matter of 2MB of corrupted files, which is “why it’s so important.” At any rate, it seems Apex Legends players on PC may want to keep an eye out in case the Olympus bug wreaks havoc on their game, too. Many users have their hands full elsewhere, following the release of Season 15. The latest seasonal update added the Broken Moon map and a new playable Legend, Catalyst.

  • New Apex Legends “Old Ways, New Dawn” Bloodhound event coming in Season 10 – Dexerto

New Apex Legends “Old Ways, New Dawn” Bloodhound event coming in Season 10 Respawn EntertainmentNot quite feeling the Apex Legends content glut yet? Well, if Evolution Collection isn’t enough for you, a new Bloodhound event is dropping in Season 10. Here’s all the details regarding the “Old Ways, New Dawn” story. Those with an eagle eye will be able to spot the similarities between the upcoming Bloodhound event in Season 10 and their original Season 4 Town Takeover named “Old Ways”. The lore-inspired event will be returning — somewhat — for a second chapter in “Old Ways, New Dawn” as a bridge between the current Evolution Collection event and Monsters, set to launch in October. “Old Ways, New Dawn” Bloodhound story event in Apex Legends: Full details According to dataminer ‘Shrugtal’, the Bloodhound event was teased in the Evolution trailer with a white raven. The event layout will be very much leaning into the storytelling with little to do in combat. There will be a Prologue quest, followed by three chapters and a finale. They will be released at staggered intervals, starting on September 28 and running until October 5. Leaked text from the Prologue, named “White Raven”, looks into Bloodhound’s thoughts about Talos’ slow death, and their quest to save it. Once you complete all the missions, you’ll receive three Bloodhound packs that are guaranteed to contain rare items (or better) for the Legend that you don’t already own. There is also a paid lore-themed skin players can pick up to round out their collections. It’ll be available as a standalone or as part of an “Old Ways, New Dawn” bundle with a Bloodhound banner frame and a Prowler skin. When is the “Old Ways, New Dawn” Bloodhound Apex Legends event? The “Old Ways, New Dawn” event is expected to kick off on September 28 and run until the next Monsters promotion. Leaked dates for that have it starting on October 12, so you have about two weeks to grind the story quest. More details will be made public — and official — as the event date nears, so stay tuned.

  • Apex Legends October 13 update patch notes: Fixes for Devotion skins, Loba Skin, more – Dexerto

Apex Legends October 13 update patch notes: Fixes for Devotion skins, Loba Skin, more Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment pushed out another patch for Apex Legends, this time with fixes for Devotion skins, a Legendary Loba skin, and more. Apex Legends is currently in the midst of its Fight or Fright event, where players can partake in a variety of limited-time events. However, that hasn’t stopped developer Respawn Entertainment from putting out patches to fix a few issues plaguing players. Now, Respawn has released another small patch for Apex Legends that fixes issues involving two Devotion skins, a skin for Loba, and bugged ring visuals. Apex Legends October 13 patch notes The patch notes came from Respawn’s official Twitter account, which laid out everything coming in the October 13, 2022 patch. First off, the patch re-enabled two Devotion skins that were previously causing issues for some players: The Bound in Bone Legendary skin and the Dragon’s Spine Legendary spine. It seems these two skins were briefly disabled and taken off the store to prevent any more issues from occurring until Respawn could push this patch out. Next, the patch notes restored the “Elegant Aesthetic” Legendary Loba skin to players, as some players had reported the skin being missing entirely from their library despite owning it. Finally, this patch has apparently “resolved the blurry out-of-ring visuals” that the playerbase has complained about for some time now. For those who may not have experienced the bug, it would trigger when players would step inside the damaging ring and would cause intense brightness and blurriness, making it impossible to see and fight inside the ring. Thankfully, it seems this issue has finally been resolved. Additionally, it seems like Respawn also added brand new healing sound effects to the game, to coincide with the new animations. That seems to be everything added and fixed with the October 13, 2022 update. Hopefully, now players can enjoy the Fight or Fright event and Shadow Royale with fewer issues.
