  • Apex Legends lead designer Daniel Z Klein fired over offensive posts – Dexerto

Apex Legends lead designer Daniel Z Klein fired over offensive posts Respawn EntertainmentOne of the most prominent developers at Respawn Entertainment, Daniel Klein, has been let go by the studio, after posts he made on a blog in 2007 resurfaced. Klein has confirmed that the offensive posts were the cause of his dismissal. Klein was the lead designer for the Legend balance team in Apex Legends. Due to his position, he often faced the community’s ire when they disagreed with buffs or nerfs he made to certain characters. As one of the lead developers, Klein engaged frequently with the community across social media. Controversy in 2021 centered around a lack of changes for the Wattson character, who players believe is underpowered, but that Klein remained adamant was a strong and viable pick. Following this, allegations were made against the developer after a series blog posts he wrote in 2007 were uncovered and shared by members of the community. Although Respawn’s director of comms initially responded, “I don’t think anything from 2007 reflects on a person in 2021. People grow up.” Daniel Klein “terminated” from Respawn However, Respawn / EA have since taken action, letting go of Klein from the studio. On August 10, Klein confirmed his dismissal, writing “You may or may not have seen the awful, bigoted things I said in 2007. I wholeheartedly agree that THAT guy should have been fired. “I said racist and sexist things, not because I deeply believed any of them, but because I knew I could get a reaction out of people. That does not excuse anything I said; the impact of my words was the same regardless of what I believed.” He accepted the decision, but said he disagreed with it: “To be clear, I’m not saying EA or Respawn did anything untoward. They were absolutely within their rights to terminate me, much as I may disagree with that decision.” You may or may not have seen the awful, bigoted things I said in 2007. I wholeheartedly agree that THAT guy should have been fired. — danielzklein@bsky.social (@danielzklein) August 10, 2021 In one of the blog posts, from 2007 (when Klein was 27/28), he made sexist remarks about women being irrational, and a joke about feeding Africans. Klein’s work on Apex Legends also included the gameplay design of Valkyrie, the Season 9 Legend. Apex Legends has now entered its 10th season, and will do so without the lead balance designer it has had since launch. It remains to be seen if Klein’s position will be taken up by another member of the current live balance team at Respawn. Klein was also fired from his previous role at Riot, after a dispute within the community about a women-only event at PAX.

  • Apex Legends: Lava and ice map changes teased for Season 3 Meltdown – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Lava and ice map changes teased for Season 3 Meltdown New clues for Apex Legends Season 3 Meltdown are starting to convince some players that Kings Canyon is going to get a huge change to its layout by incorporating lava and ice. The Apex Legends community is hyped for what Season 3 of the battle royale will bring, which will definitely include new Apex Games contestant Crypto alongside any other calamity his presence will surely bring to the landscape. But a few hints from the Italian Apex Legends Season 3 site could hold a telling sign of what players will be in for when the next chapter of the game gets underway. In a Reddit post, user ‘FrostBurn303’ found an interesting use of words on the Apex Legends page when translating the words into English. “‘Sbaraglia i nemici e esplora scenari di lava e ghiaccio,’ FrostBurn303 noted as they investigated what they found. “Which translates into ‘Eliminate enemies and explore lava and ice scenarios’” Meanwhile, the native English portion of the site for that portion says “Show off your skills in the new series of Ranked mode. Drop in hot and put your enemies on ice!” Even though there are some correlations between the two taglines, the user pointed out the apparent distinction in the Italian version of the site: “I translated the page to English so I could post this here, but apparently in the English version it’s a bit different.” The English version seems to intentionally include “hot” and “ice” to encourage players to drop into the new Ranked Series 2, but the Italian translation gives the tagline a completely different meaning. Before Respawn settled on the official name of Meltdown, leaked game files linked Season 3 to a different moniker of ‘Fire and Ice.’ We’ve already seen the chaos Crypto created before he even entered the game, since he was the main catalyst for Season 2’s wild changes throughout the map. Season 3 could see the covert hacker create even more disastrous situations that includes lava and ice in Kings Canyon, as he enters the game to fight while staying “out of the spotlight.” It won’t be long before Crypto fully enters the game and players can experience the full effects of Season 3’s new changes in Apex Legends.

  • Apex Legends launches report system to combat hackers, crashes and abusive players – Dexerto

Apex Legends launches report system to combat hackers, crashes and abusive players Respawn EntertainmentThe long-awaited patch update for Apex Legends brought a way for players to be a part of the solution to help combat troublesome hackers found throughout the game. Respawn Entertainment released the Season 1: Wild Frontier Patch on March 19 bringing a host of fixes and new features that will improve the game’s stability. A few of those new features will finally give players a way to report heinous servers, crashes or suspect players for Respawn to take an extra look at to rectify the problem. Though the game exploded in popularity upon release, Apex Legends has been plagued with recurrent crashes and an army of hackers in various matches. Now Respawn has integrated a better way to report crashes on PC by adding a “apex_crash.txt” in the “Documents” folder that can be shared with the company. The information sent can be used as a direct link to the devs to see what problems can be solved. But PC players will be more happy to have the new Report a Player feature that will definitely be used a lot for suspect players and hackers. The feature can be used as a Spectator upon dying or when looking at teammates’ Banner Cards in the squad’s tab. To date, Respawn has banned around 500,000 accounts and the new feature should immensely help cleaning up the rest of the game’s cheaters. Console players will also be getting a Report a Player feature but will be tailored more for abusive players that crop in during playthroughs. It seems like Respawn Entertainment is taking a more constructive approach with its players to iron out future problems that may come with the game. Full information about the new report systems can be found below: Introducing better reporting when Apex crashes on PC without error message. We really want to fix any crashes people happen to get on PC. We also respect our player’s privacy. So, if the PC game crashes, it will write “apex_crash.txt” to your “Documents” folder. This tiny file is plain text, so you can easily see for yourself that it has no personal information. If you choose to share this file with us, it will tell us whether the crash was in Apex or in third party software. If the crash was in Apex, our programmers can use the information to find and fix it. If you experience a crash, please include this file when you report. We protect your personal information. – You can easily see everything in the file yourself; we have no secrets. – You’re in control of whether we ever see the file. – – – We really want to fix any crashes people happen to get on PC. Players can now report cheaters they encounter in-game and it’ll be sent directly to Easy Anti-Cheat. You can do this from either the spectate view after dying or when looking at your team’s Banner Cards in the Squad tab. – We have lots of other work going on behind the scenes and this remains high priority for us. We won’t be able to share many specifics of what we’re doing but we’ll strive to provide updates on progress for the things we can talk about. – As I’m finishing the notes this morning, 499,937 accounts and counting have been banned for cheating. – Speed hacking: We do currently have anti-speed hacking in Apex Legends, but it’s not being as effective as intended due to a bug that we believe we’ve identified and will be addressing in our next server update. Will provide ETA for it when I have it. Working to get it out ASAP. – –

  • Respawn reveals how Kanye West & Beyonce inspired Apex Legends launch – Dexerto

Respawn reveals how Kanye West & Beyonce inspired Apex Legends launch It turns out that superstars Beyoncé Knowles and Kanye West were part of the inspiration behind Apex Legends’ surprise launch in February 2019, the developers have revealed. Apex Legends’ launch was a welcomed surprise to the battle royale realm. With little to no warning, just how did Respawn Entertainment manage to pull off one of the most video game launches amid the Super Bowl LIII weekend? Apex Legends has been an unprecedented success. Within its opening week, Respawn’s battle royale had crushed Fortnite’s number of downloads by more than double. A staggering 50 million people got their hands on Apex — dwarfing the 10 million downloads that Fortnite managed in its first two weeks post-launch. Yet with no prior advertising, Respawn redefined what it meant to launch a video game in a generation where everything is connected. A generation where something could be trending in a matter of minutes — and boy, did they capitalize on that. Apex Legends rejuvenated what a battle royale could look like. By introducing concepts like a fluid respawn system and a seamless in-game dialogue through their ping system, Respawn didn’t want to let the cat out of the bag by previewing the game to masses before its official release. How Ye and Bey inspired Apex Legends release Therefore, marketing lead, Arturo Castro, decided to drop their brand new battle royale completely unannounced. Admitted, their marketing strategy was inspired by the likes of Kanye West and Beyoncé, Castro told gamesindustry.biz. “The idea of long-form campaigns was being challenged,” Castro said. “Beyoncé famously drops her album, and day one it becomes a massive hit. Kanye West did the same thing… Why couldn’t it work for games?” Immediately post-launch, Apex Legends soared to the top of the Twitch ranks, with big names hopping on the bandwagon to check out the latest craze in the battle royale world. Castro went on to explain how the development team were apprehensive leading up to the launch. “We took a big risk, and we didn’t know how this was going to land,” the Market lead explained. Having previously worked on League of Legends and the Titanfall series, Castro was well versed on what it meant to deliver a blockbuster title. “If things went a little bit differently, I might not have a job now,” he said. “But we took this calculated risk because we went in eyes wide open and we did our homework.” Respawn not only weathered the storm, but they remolded it. After Apex Legends reached over 50 million players in its first month, the developers continued to push out new content to maintain their now loyal fanbase.

  • Apex Legends players discover how to land Thermite grenades through a door – Dexerto

Apex Legends players discover how to land Thermite grenades through a door Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have found a way to get Thermite grenades, among others, to hit their mark through a closed door – and it could be a helpful way of cornering an opponent. Apex players typically make use of everything they can get a hold of across the Arena, and that goes double for explosives like grenades, Arc Stars and Thermites. Thermites generally have their specific uses and can excel at momentarily blocking off opponents or forcing them out of a spot they’re trying to hold. But a trick in Apex Legends can help you toss one of these throwables behind closed doors, opening up a huge avenue for potentially outplaying opponents. Chasing someone through Apex is tedious, especially when they just body-block the doors – but user ‘goinmool’ highlighted a trick that players can use to pull a fast one on unsuspecting prey. Basically, what you’re doing is trying to clip the nade, in this case a Thermite, to where it bounces off the door frame and through its threshold. Read more: When is Apex Legends Season 10? – When you’re about to throw a grenade, there’s a tracer line with a circle at the end of it. By the looks of it, you can angle the grenade so that it actually clips through the door and lands on the other side. If all you have is a Thermite, this is a great way to get a body-blocking player out of the way. The fire wall of a Thermite can also make it so you make the body-blocking player’s tactics work against them by forcing them out of position while you push another entry into the building. That will give you a window to trap the player inside of the room for a brief moment, and it could be a way of cleaning up easy kills. In either case, it’s not clear if this is an intended mechanic but it could prove useful for Apex Legends players who are trying to breach teams holding up in a building.

  • Apex Legends LAN trophy held for ransom after customs mishap – Dexerto

Apex Legends LAN trophy held for ransom after customs mishap Volpin PropsThe trophy for the winners of the Apex Legends Global Series South America Split 1 Playoffs in 2022, which was lost in customs, has resurfaced two years later after being purchased at an auction. A box was put up for action by the Federal Police and was purchased at random by a user known as mrvn__444 on X. After discovering the trophy inside, he tagged event champion Besk9 and asked for financial compensation to have it returned. “We won the 2022 Playoffs and the trophy NEVER arrived,” said Besk9. “Today, we discovered that this guy bought A BOX from the Federal Police at an auction, and the trophy was inside. He won’t return the trophy because that’s his job and he wants to sell it to us… Thanks @PlayApexEsports.” Besk9 explained the situation further on Reddit, stating that customs had held up the trophy while it was in transport. Electronic Arts, the company behind Apex Legends, was supposed to pay the customs fee or provide more information about the “product” but failed to do so. As a result, the trophy was put in a box with other items and sold at an auction. A commenter underneath the post shared Besk9’s confusion on the situation, saying, “Lol “we won’t allow this package into our country without further details.” Proceeds to sell the box to someone in the country.” Mrvn__444 claims that the trophy is embroidered with 24-carat gold, setting a high price due to this feature. However, fellow ALGS Split 1 Playoff winner from the EMEA region, K4SHERA, responded by showcasing his own trophy, revealing that it lacks the quality materials mrvn__444 asserts. Currently, the 2022 ALGS South American trophy is still with mrvn__444 as he awaits an undisclosed sum of money from the players and the organization. At the time of writing, EA has not stepped in to provide support in getting the trophy back. Unfortunately, this is not the first time there have been issues with ALGS’ distribution of rewards, with $100,000 in prize money being sent to the wrong player at the Esports World Cup.

  • Terrible Apex Legends lag results in frustrating “Groundhog Day” bug – Dexerto

Terrible Apex Legends lag results in frustrating “Groundhog Day” bug Apex Legends can sometimes have terrible connection issues among players, but it got so bad a player was forced to relive the beginning moments of a game multiple times. Respawn Entertainment has been incrementally improving their battle royale since its February 4 launch, but there are still mounting bugs and glitches that the developers need to iron out. Players have encountered bizarre bugs throughout the game’s short lifespan so far. While some glitches are hilarious to find others can cause major imbalances in matches which should be high on the priority list for Respawn to patch out. Lag, rinse, repeat In a Reddit post, user ‘Buczz’ showed off their match where a series of connection issues left them in the air for an “eternity” during their drop with no signs of ever coming down. After finally making landfall, they went into the nearest door to start looting, but was caught in a loop that made them relive the moment over and over and over and… Set to the tune of John Denver’s ‘Take Me Home, Country Roads,’ the player experienced what they called “Groundhog Day Bug” in reference to the movie in which Bill Murray’s character is trapped in a time loop to relive the same day. The hilarity ensues at the tail-end of the video when it seems like the player has given up on looting all together and just wants to move away from their spot in the balcony. Unfortunately, their connection to the game’s servers just wouldn’t allow that to happen, seeing as Buczz even dropped down just to look back up their balcony – before they were taken right back to the place they started. While this glitch certainly qualifies as something Respawn needs to address, it could be hard to straighten out since it might have to do with the game’s temperamental netcode. Since the game’s release, players from all over – even with consistent, reliable internet – have had atrocious experiences when dropping into the Apex Games. With tons of players dropping into the game with every passing event, Respawn might look to address these problems soon to avoid future connection issues like this.

  • Apex Legends has added new lag icons but no one knows what they mean – Dexerto

Apex Legends has added new lag icons but no one knows what they mean Apex Legends players are encountering lag issues that cause a brand-new type of connection symbol to appear in-game – no one knows what it means. Reports of network latency-related issues in Apex Legends crop up every so often on PC and consoles. While developer Respawn typically fixes the problem when it arises, players can sometimes troubleshoot connection errors themselves. A few handy symbols prove helpful in cases like this, notifying users of whatever issue has inhibited their connection to Apex Legends’ servers. Notably, the well-known icons denote congestion (server branch), latency (speedometer), packet loss (connected squares), and prediction error (dotted lines). But it seems a couple of new symbols have reared their head in recent days. New icons for Apex Legends’ lag troubles? KanSyden, a player based in France, shared an Apex Legends screenshot on June 28 that shows two previously unseen icons. The player claims the new symbols popped up due to lag. One of the indicators comes in the form of a heartbeat-like icon. Meanwhile, the other is an incomplete circle attached to a square box. In addition, the inside of the circle appears to depict an arrow facing left. Another Reddit user, drfetid, noticed the heartbeat icon last week. Oddly enough, no one on the Reddit threads are any the wiser as to what these newly added indicators actually mean. Presumably, these emblems were introduced to the battle royale in the 13.1 update. Whether or not they’re meant to denote additional lag errors in Apex Legends presently remains a mystery. Respawn deployed the most recent Apex Legends update, Patch 13.1, on June 21, unleashing the Collection Event alongside the Control LTM, balance adjustments, and Ranked changes. The patch also unlocked access to the Lifeline’s Clinic POI on Olympus.

  • Apex Legends lack of communication called out in viral TikTok: “They lied to all of us” – Dexerto

Apex Legends lack of communication called out in viral TikTok: “They lied to all of us” Respawn EntertainmentA viral Apex Legends TikTok has hit out at Respawn for their lack of communication over the battle royale, as issues following the launch of the Spellbound Collection Event continue. The Apex Legends Spellbound Collection Event dropped in-game on January 10. While it brought a lot of anticipated content – notably Seer’s Heirloom and Private Matches – it has caused a number of issues in the battle royale. From widespread server outages to the disappearance of features like third-person mode in the Firing Range, players have been frustrated by the plethora of issues it has created. Now, a TikTok from @stereoomike has gone viral, hitting out at the devs for their lack of communication. Viral TikTok blasts Respawn for Apex Legends communication Among other things, it details times the author has “felt Respawn have been less than transparent”. It lists a number of recent events in the Apex Legends community, including the Catalyst release trailer, which the creator claims made out that the Season 15 legend was to be a hard Seer counter. They also question the omission of details from patch notes – like the Spellbound Event’s secret Horizon nerf – asking: “What are patch notes for if the biggest updates aren’t in them… I do not understand in my brain why this information is not in the patch notes. The only logical conclusion I can come up with is that it was not included because they think that the hype would have been ruined for Seer’s heirloom.” He finished: “As unfortunate as it is, these are not the decisions of a developer confident in the lifespan of their product. Respawn, your game is good, f**king act like it.” At the time of writing, the TikTok has accumulated over 16,000 likes and over 100,000 views. It was echoed by other community members, with one player taking to Reddit to criticize Respawn’s “radio silence” over the Spellbound Collection Event’s issues. Despite the love for Apex Legends, there’s clearly a section of its player base who think recent issues could have been handled better on the developers’ end.

  • Apex Legends L-Star weapon animations leaked – Dexerto

Apex Legends L-Star weapon animations leaked VIA REDDITOR ‘ELECTROSHREDDIE’A brand new L-Star weapon is expected to be the next added to Apex Legends and many of its animations have already been leaked for fans to see. It didn’t take long for data miners to get their hands on some more exclusive information on the upcoming submachine gun, with new animations being revealed for fans to get their eyes on. A first glimpse of the L-Star was revealed by a leak on March 19, which showed detailed images of it from several different angles, but now we have a much better look at how the weapon may operate when its in the hands of players – courtesy of @RealApexLeaks. There’s been no official indication from Apex Legends‘ developer Respawn Entertainment about when it is to be added to the game, despite featuring on load screens just after the launch of their Season 1 Battle Pass. However, that doesn’t seem to have stopped data miners from getting a better understanding of how it will look in-game, with several animations surfacing on Twitter. These gifs show what players might expect to see from the new Apex Legends weapon, with this animation showing how it can be reloaded – along with an inspect view of it. The previous animation shows how characters will reload the gun using only one hand, but the one found below one shows a normal two-handed reload. These animations show three different functionalities that the L-Star could have when it’s added to the game, showing some interesting angles. Read More: Are custom games heading to Apex Legends? – Other dataminers have claimed to have known the release date, among other things, for this weapon already. However, those have not come to fruition. While the source of this leak has been proven to be typically reliable, it’s still uncertain if these animations will be exactly the same when they’re added to the popular battle royale title.

  • Apex Legends L-STAR secret buff discovered from Season 5 update – Dexerto

Apex Legends L-STAR secret buff discovered from Season 5 update Respawn EnetrtainmentApex Legends players have been hard at work testing all of the weapons and items since the game’s Season 5 update, and there appears to have been a strange discovery regarding the L-STAR. The game’s developers, Respawn Entertainment, are always on hand with patch notes following the biggest patches, although some members of the community are curious as to why the energy Light Machine Gun has been given a huge buff. Even in the most recent patch, on May 27, only the Mastiff was mentioned in the update details, with the spawn rate being lowered. At the beginning of Season 4, it was thought that the L-STAR had become one of the most powerful weapons available, but that didn’t last long as players became frustrated with how much light the gun emits when firing. That, and its absurd recoil at times. However, YouTuber DistinctGamer101 has found an interesting tweak that’s been made to the weapon – intentionally or accidentally – that might encourage those who used to play with it to give it another try. DistrictGamer101 claims that a few guns have been made easier to use on ziplines, including the R-99, but the L-STAR in particular is “100% accuracy” in the air. This includes firing from ziplines, Launch Pads, and when in the air – he says. As seen in the video, the weapon – compared to what it was last season – looks significantly more accurate when moving at speed, i.e. in the air. “No weapons are 100% accurate except for one and that is the L-STAR,” he said, following some testing with different guns. “The L-STAR seemed to provide really accurate results from my testing, while I was jumping in the air, or while I was using a Launch Pad – even if I was on a zipline. I could hit my shots dead on every time.” They also added that practice makes perfect with it, of course, but claims it can “melt” opponents – using the frame destroying qualities of the LMG to the user’s advantage. This will definitely be an advantage for those who are capable of this high-octane style of play, but may be a buff that’s actually quite difficult to exploit for beginners. Nevertheless, if there has been a tweak such as this made in-game without reference in the patch notes, it remains to be seen if even more have been implemented – accidentally, or otherwise. The only way to find out, really, is keep dropping in and experiment. Who knows, maybe you will find the next big thing the playerbase didn’t know had been changed.

  • Apex Legends Knockdown Shield feature is frustrating players beyond belief – Dexerto

Apex Legends Knockdown Shield feature is frustrating players beyond belief Respawn Entertainment have fixed up a number of frustrating bugs in Apex Legends in the past, but fans just can’t work out if a problem with the Knockdown Shield is a bug or intentional feature. The Knockdown Shield has been a staple of the battle royale game ever since its shock release in February earlier this year, allowing players some extra protection on the ground after their character has been knocked down by an enemy. Hence, the name. A discussion has been raised in the game’s online community, however, regarding a potential issue that can make it significantly more difficult to prevent attacks. It has been argued by Reddit user Neon775, who posted about the problem on December 3, that there’s actually a bug in the game that makes crawling a lot slower. Obviously, this wouldn’t be ideal as knocked down players are no longer armed and literally just have their movement to protect themselves from gunfire or melee attacks – usually hiding to escape. The user posted: “There’s a bug with the knockdown shields where if you’re holding them when they break you get stuck holding them up. It’s not really a big deal but it makes you crawl a lot slower. I’m sure everyone else has seen this but I haven’t seen any posts about it.” Having gained some traction on the game’s subreddit, with over 3,900 people upvoting the post, it sparked a discussion between players about whether or not this actually is a glitch or something that the developers intentionally added to the game. What’s for sure, though, is that a lot have noticed the issue. “What? It’s a bug? I thought it’s a feature. For me it happens every time they crack my knockdown shield,” one wrote. Neon responded quickly, too. They said: “It didn’t used to be like that. Once your shield was broke you were able to go just as fast as if you didn’t have it up. Now it gets stuck once it’s broken and slows you down.” The game’s developers usually have their finger right on the pulse when it comes to nagging issues in Apex Legends, regularly monitoring comments from the community on this subreddit and others, although there doesn’t appear to be any Knockdown Shield changes lined up for the near future – according to their official ‘Apex Tracker’ Trello page. Whether it’s a bug or intentional feature, though, some players aren’t very happy with its inclusion. That’s for sure.

  • Apex Legends Knockdown Shield bug spells doom for Revenant’s Death Totem – Dexerto

Apex Legends Knockdown Shield bug spells doom for Revenant’s Death Totem Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are reporting what could be an unintended interaction between Revenant’s Ultimate Ability, Death Totem, and the Legendary Knockdown Shields that carry a life-saving ability. Respawn Entertainment’s Season 4 character has been garnering massive intrigue for his aggressive kit that includes an ult which lets players experiment with their playstyle without getting punished too hard. The Death Totem “protects those who use it from death for a set amount of time,” so “instead of being killed or downed, users will return to the totem.” But it seems like a bugged interaction with the gold Knockdown Shield makes that last stipulation a hit or miss, as some players are reporting that the item’s special perk can negate the Death Totem’s effect. “Don’t take Gold knockdown shield while playing Revenant,” Reddit user ‘AceAxos’ said. “It cancels your ult for you.” The Apex community member explained that they had the gold shield equipped while having Revenant’s Ult active on them. After getting downed, they noticed that the game must have prioritized the shield’s Resurrection ability. That’s a bit problematic since Revenat’s Death Totem is supposed to protect players from getting downed, regardless of what tier Knockdown Shield they have equipped. Early adopters of the new Legend have been using the ability to test the mettle of an opposing squad before committing to an engagement; with the bug between the Legendary equipment and the Synthetic Nightmare’s ult, that option is taken away. Instead of being revived near the totem, players are instead being left stranded behind enemy lines if they have the special shields equipped. Comment byu/AceAxos from discussion inapexlegends Another user by the name of ‘IsidearmI’ saw something similar happen to them: “I can confirm this. Had a gold Knockdown Shield, used [Revenant’s] ult then died and was immediately downed with the option to self res.” Others believe the problem could be caused by a user malfunction, like forgetting to actually activate the Ult on themselves after it was placed down or getting out of its range. With more people jumping into the Apex Games as Revenant, there are sure to be more experimentation to see if this interaction is normal as intended or not. And if the latter, then Respawn should be quick to patch the bug that negates the effect of the Death Totem ultimate ability

  • Apex Legends knockdown shield bug sends sniper shots back at you – Dexerto

Apex Legends knockdown shield bug sends sniper shots back at you It turns out that the Apex Legends knockdown shields are so strong they can completely deflect a sniper shot from a Kraber. When a player is downed in Apex Legends, they have the option to put up a shield that will protect them from bullets, and that gives their team a chance to clear the area for a revive. However, the shield can’t last forever and when it goes down, you’re left completely defenseless and your death is surely following. As it turns out, the knockdown shield has the ability to not only block bullets, but it can also ricochet them back at who is shooting at you. A clip that was captured and posted to Reddit by Apex Legends player dw_supreme that showed the shield launching a bullet from the Kraber back at the player. The clip shows the moment in slow motion so it’s pretty unmistakable that that’s what happened here. In what is surely a bug, this deflected show could possibly even eliminate an opposing player which would be absolutely insane to see happen. Players have reported similar situations like this in the past so it has been persistent, but nothing too game-breaking or annoying as of yet. The developers haven’t said if this is actually working as intended or if it’s a bug, but it’s certainly leaning more towards being a bug. It’s not really known if your own bullet can kill you but if there was ever a chance to see if that’s possible, this would be the way to check it. Of course, if your own bullets can’t actually hurt you then it’s not really a huge deal if the bullets are deflected as it means the shield is still doing its job. If this actually is a bug then you’ll have to keep an eye on the Apex Legends Trello board to see if it pops up sometime in the future. In the meantime, try and see if you can get an enemy to kill themselves with their own shot for ultimate bragging rights.

  • Apex Legends: Kings Canyon night map officially revealed – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Kings Canyon night map officially revealed reddit: shayodonnRespawn Entertainment have revealed the first official look at a night time Kings Canyon map ahead of Apex Legends’ halloween-themed Fight or Fright update on October 15. After Apex Legends season three launched with a brand new map, World’s Edge, on October 1, many fans questioned as to what would become of Kings Canyon. Members of the Respawn development team shut down rumors of using the two maps in tandem but left the door open for bringing it back in the future. They will be bringing it back as a part of the Fight or Fright event starting on October 15 but it won’t be as fans know it. In fact, it’ll be under the cover of darkness – just as many players had hoped for when the game launched back in February. The Respawn team revealed the first official look of how the map, which is going to be used in the upcoming Shadowfall limited-time mode, during their new Apex DevStream series. In the breakdown, the developers showed off a number of overhead shots of some fan-favorite locations like Airbase and Bunker that are now only lit by the moon and some lights that are dotted around – as they sell the spooky vibe that Shadowfall will create. The devs even touched on what the mode will entail – as players fight it out across the map, but not in the traditional battle royale mode that they have come to know and love. Instead, once you die in Shadowfall, you will take on the form of a Shadow Legend with increased speed, a melee attack, and the ability to climb walls higher than before as they look to impose terror upon others. However, they will have more to show before the event gets going on October 15, including more details of what players will be tasked with doing in Shadowfall and what will come later in the season. Until then, anyone who is desperate to jump into a nighttime version of Kings Canyon will just have to keep the stream highlight on replay.

  • Apex Legends kill world record broken with 37 eliminations in one match – Dexerto

Apex Legends kill world record broken with 37 eliminations in one match Respawn EntertainmentTalented Apex Legends player Lymo has set a new Solo vs Squads kill world record with an incredible 37 eliminations in a single match. Racking up kills in Apex Legends is a difficult task, especially if you’re looking to play tactically and make it to the final circle. However, if kills are your main objective, it’s best to play aggressively and take every gunfight you can to maximize your chances of securing more eliminations. While most players are satisfied once they’ve unlocked the impressive 20-kill badge, some competitors prefer to take it to the next level and chase records. Well, talented Apex player Lymo has done exactly that, smashing the previous Solo vs Squads kill record with 37 eliminations in one match. Apex Legends player gets 37 kills in Solo vs Squads match Apex Legends player Lymo has set a new Solo vs Squads kill world record with 37 eliminations and 8449 damage in a single match. As noted above, they were not assisted by any teammates during this record, taking on squads of Trios completely Solo on the Broken Moon map. Using a CAR SMG, Mastiff, and R-301 Carbine throughout the match, Lymo pulled off some incredible plays during the 22-minute masterclass. Of course, there were some close calls during the game, with Lymo almost being taken down a number of times, but their solid movement and gun skill always got them out of sticky situations. You can check out the full uncut gameplay below: The last Solo vs Squads record was held by Mendokusaii with 36 kills in a single match, and this was set just two weeks after the release of Apex Legends. Not only that, Mendo did have teammates at the very beginning of the match, but they left almost immediately, so some members of the community don’t count this a true Solo vs Squads record. Either way, Lymo now holds the top spot with an insane 37 kills and it’s unlikely anyone is going to steal the crown anytime soon.

  • Apex Legends just hit a new player count record on Steam with Season 9 launch – Dexerto

Apex Legends just hit a new player count record on Steam with Season 9 launch Respawn EntertainmentTwo days after the launch of Apex Legends Season 9, Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale has smashed past a new milestone for concurrent players on Steam, reaching over 320,000. Steam is the only platform Apex Legends is on with a public API that allows us to see the concurrent player count. Since it released on Steam in late 2020, it’s been a journey to see it continue to hit higher and higher peaks. With the launch of Legacy, the ninth season, the player count was poised to hit a new high — but some very nasty server bugs prevented the number from getting too high on launch day, May 4. Thankfully, with the server bugs fixed (mostly), Apex has been allowed to really flex its muscles on Steam. Apex Legends peak player count on Steam On May 6, Apex Legends hit a new peak player count of 330,879 according to data from SteamDB. Obviously, this figure does not include players on all the other platforms (Origin, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch), so it’s impossible to know what the overall player count was at this peak time. Read More: Apex Legends Season 9 review – Respawn confirmed that the game had reached a total of 100 million players earlier in 2021. Season 9 launched with the new Arenas mode, a 3v3 playlist that allows players to buy their loadout from a shop each round, akin to Valorant or CSGO. There’s also the new Legend Valkyrie, inspired by her Titanfall past.

  • Apex Legends June 30 patch notes: fixes to Wraith, Revenant, Octane, more – Dexerto

Apex Legends June 30 patch notes: fixes to Wraith, Revenant, Octane, more Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer cgdaanpd]Respawn Entertainment rolled out the new 5.1.1 update in Apex Legends on June 30, implementing some adjustments to several characters, as well as fixes for general issues. Apex Legends seems to be in a good place right now thanks to the ongoing Lost Treasures Collection Event, which finally brought some new content to the game after the dry spell that followed the launch of Season 5. However, there had been some issues plaguing the game, especially when it came to certain Legends, and Respawn addressed them with a client patch on June 30. Read More: Strange Loba bug crashes Apex Legends games – The update made some teaks to Wraith, Revenant, and Octane in order to fix some of the problems that had been flaring recently, and there were a few game-breaking bugs that were tackled, as well. Apex Legends 5.1.1 update patch notes General Removed Mobile Respawn Beacon out of the bunker area in Kings Canyon. – Fixed an issue with Legends being able to still shoot after being downed. – Fixed an issue where taking damage was interrupting revives. – – Wraith Fixed an issue “The Marble Goddess” skin not having the correct hitbox. – Fixed an issue with Wraith being able to get a speed boost by using her tactical, then her ult, then canceling her ult. – – Revenant Fixed an issue where if death protection wears off during a revive, it cancels the revive. – – Octane Octane will no longer be able to use stim while healing. – Fixed an issue with passive regen being delayed after the use of stim. – Fixed issues with being pulled out of ADS, weapon firing stopping when stim ends/landing from a jump pad. – – Legend changes & fixes Wraith Despite its magnificent appearance, Wraith’s ‘The Marble Goddess’ outfit skin was mired in controversy after its broken hitboxes were exposed. Now, that’s no longer the case, and players were noticing that the fixes had been pushed through even before the update has been announced. As for the other change, the exploit that allowed players to gain a speed boost using a combination of her Tactical and Ultimate abilities has been patched. Octane Just as with Wraith, Octane had his own massive glitch that players were exploiting. The recent buffs implemented for the Legend resulted in an unintended side effect, one that allowed the speedster to use his Stim ability while healing, essentially allowing him to revive health and get a speed boost at the same time. That’s now been patched, along with a couple of other issues that were affecting the character, both of which also had to do with the Stim. Revenant Last but not least, there’s Revenant, as the death protection that his Death Totem provides was interfering with reviving teammates in certain situations. Fortunately, Respawn caught wind of it and addressed it, so there might be more players comfortable using the Synthetic Nightmare now that this issue isn’t looming over the character any longer. As always, make sure to follow us on Twitter @TitanfallBlog for all the latest Apex Legends news, updates, guides, and more.

  • Apex Legends June 29 update patch notes: Ash SFX fix, Anonymous mode, more – Dexerto

Apex Legends June 29 update patch notes: Ash SFX fix, Anonymous mode, more Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment has pushed out another mid-season patch for Apex Legends, including fixes for Ash’s lack of sound effects, missing UI elements, and more. Developer Respawn Entertainment has released yet another mid-season patch notes for the Apex Legends battle royale, which players can download now. Unlike previous updates that provide Legend changes in the form of buffs, nerfs, and even bug fixes, this June 29 patch is mainly to fix a handful of missing or bugged elements surrounding the game’s UI and sound effects. However, some of these missing elements may very well have affected a good number of players. Thankfully, it seems Respawn has discovered the root of these issues and fixed them with this latest update. Apex Legends June 29 patch notes Here are the full June 29 patch notes for Apex Legends: Names no longer incorrectly appear when in Anonymous mode – Deaths outside the Ring now show in the kill feed – Quips now display subtitles when selected in Banner menus – Sound effects for Ash select animations now play correctly – Some of these fixes didn’t directly interfere with gameplay, such as Ash’s lack of sound effects when selected on the Legends Select screen before a match. Additionally, players can now see quip subtitles when selected in banner menus, which were sometimes missing previously. However, a couple of these fixes are indeed quite handy. After this latest patch, the names of players who died outside the Ring will now be properly displayed in the Kill feed. This can be a crucial piece of information during the latter half of a game, as it can help determine how many players are hiding out on the fringes of the arena. Additionally, this update addressed an issue where names would be incorrectly displayed when playing in Anonymous mode. While this probably won’t affect a majority of the game’s playerbase, Anonymous mode is very helpful for streamers and content creators who tend to get stream-sniped while playing live.

  • Apex Legends June 1 update patch notes: Catalyst & Ballistic fixes, more – Dexerto

Apex Legends June 1 update patch notes: Catalyst & Ballistic fixes, more Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment has released a minor Apex Legends update to fix certain Legend issues, skin-related bugs, and a problem with Control. Just last week, Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment pushed out an update to fix a handful of bugs and glitches that were affecting specific characters, like Wraith and Seer. In particular, Wraith could still use her weapons while knocked, and Seer could track enemy players even though they were on the other side of Catalyst’s Dark Veil. Naturally, players wanted to see these bugs ironed out as swiftly as possible, and Respawn delivered. Now, the developer has pushed out another patch to address lingering bugs, including spawning issues in Control, Catalyst’s Dark Veil, and much more. Apex Legends June 1 patch notes Here are the full June 1 patch notes for Apex Legends: Fixed an issue surrounding spawning in Control – Being able to scan through Catalyst’s Dark Veil Ultimate ability – Wraith using her weapon in the Fight Night ring – Miscellaneous Ballistic fixes – Certain skins could block your view – Like the last update, Wraith and Catalyst are getting some bug fixes once again. Apex Legends fans had been frustrated with Wraith still being able to use weapons in the Fight Night ring — where players can usually only melee. As for Catalyst, Respawn fixed an issue where certain scan abilities were able to pierce through her Dark Veil ability. Additionally, this update addressed an issue in the Control game mode where players were only able to spawn on their team spawn location and not on any of their captured points. This update also included “miscellaneous fixes” for the newest Legend Ballistic. While it’s unclear what specific fixes this update targeted, Ballistic has had a few glitches slip through the cracks, such as his melee animation cancel bug. Finally, Respawn noted that the team has fixed “certain skins” that would block players’ view. Again, it’s unclear which specific skins were causing issues, but hopefully, this patch has addressed them all.

  • Apex Legends streamer can’t stop laughing at partner after funny jump scare on Twitch – Dexerto

Apex Legends streamer can’t stop laughing at partner after funny jump scare on Twitch Electronic ArtsAn Apex Legends streamer couldn’t help but laugh out loud at their partner’s reaction to a hilarious jump scare on Twitch. Jump scares in Apex matches aren’t exactly a foreign concept. As players learned during the Halloween event’s Shadow Royale mode, opening supply crates can prove quite frightening from time to time. But the scares don’t always stem from horror-inspired limited-time modes. On some occasions, the frights in Apex Legends simply arise due to unforeseen circumstances. Those who bear witness to such moments seldom miss an opportunity to have a laugh at their fellow player’s expense. Funny jump scare gets great reaction from Apex Legends streamer While playing Apex with their girlfriend, Twitch streamer AusAdrianTTV’s world turned upside due to a jump scare. Mid-conversation, when all seemed fine, the streamer’s girlfriend bellowed out a Scream Queen-worthy yelp because an enemy player took her by surprise. AusAdrianTTV couldn’t contain their response, carrying on a fit of laughter for several seconds after the fact. The Twitch streamer shared the moment in the Apex Legends subreddit under the username of bob21150. Several other Reddit users in the thread said they understood the girlfriend’s plight, recalling their jump scare experiences with the previously mentioned Shadow Royale event. Apex Legends veterans also weren’t afraid to admit that another player getting the drop on you can be quite startling. Though the Scream Queen and streamer managed to survive the fight, the true victor in this whole ordeal was that surprised screech. One Redditor in the comments called it the “perfect comedic scream.” Even with this year’s Halloween Event out of the way, it’s good to know Apex Legends is still able to shock unsuspecting players.

  • Apex Legends July 7 patch notes: Loba fix & Mobile Respawn Beacons – Dexerto

Apex Legends July 7 patch notes: Loba fix & Mobile Respawn Beacons Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer UQowmNq2]Respawn Entertainment have pushed out a new update for Apex Legends on July 7 that should take care of Loba’s problematic World’s Edge bug as well as expanding Mobile Respawn Beacons in the game. Players found that the Lost Treasures Collection Event brought a harsh bug to the battle royale’s newest Legend, Loba. Since then, people have been clamoring for a fix to the bug that made her teleport ineffective on World’s Edge. After notifying the Apex community that a “fix was on the way,” Respawn came through with a quick turnaround for the problematic glitch which should hopefully make it safe to play the new character on the second Arena. Burglar’s Best Friend fix Loba should now be playable on World’s Edge! Her Burglar’s Best Friend Tactical ability had a strange interaction on the map that didn’t let the bracelet catch onto the ground. In explaining the problem, Design Director at Respawn Entertainment Jason ‘Monsterclip’ McCord said that it had something to do with how the World’s Edge code was put together as opposed to Kings Canyon. “‘Triggers’ were done a little differently in Worlds Edge. Same user facing functionality, just authored in a slightly different way. We grouped them more,” he said. “Kings Canyons triggers aren’t grouped… Anyway, some code changed and only broke her bracelet functionality in those specially authored triggers in WE.” Regardless, the developers have been working to address the problem but also said there are known instances where the issue can still happen. Mobile Respawn Beacons for all After their initial test run, Mobile Respawn Beacons are now coming to every mode in Apex to bring back Legends anywhere on the battlefield. They initially came out on June 23 for the Armed & Dangerous LTM, but are now going to be introduced to the larger set of playlists in the BR. This is similar to how the Evo shields were brought to the larger Apex Legends world and could be the approach that Respawn take when trying out experimental items. Apex Legends July 7 update patch notes Fixes addressing Loba’s tactical usability on World’s Edge. There are still some known cases we’re continuing to work on but it should work much better now. – Mobile Respawn Beacon has been added to all modes. –

  • Apex Legends July 19 update patch notes: Control, Gun Run, Trident fixes, more – Dexerto

Apex Legends July 19 update patch notes: Control, Gun Run, Trident fixes, more Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment, the developer behind Apex Legends, has unveiled a patch that will introduce fixes for the Trident vehicle alongside updates for the Control and Gun Run modes. The forthcoming season of Apex Legends has hit the shelves, with Respawn Entertainment mapping out significant alterations to the Ranked mode for Season 18. However, that hasn’t stopped the developer from keeping the game up to date with Season 17 still in motion. Now, Respawn has pushed out yet another mid-season update. This update includes fixes for a handful of annoying bugs, two of which surrounded Apex Legends‘ mixtape mode. Here’s a rundown of everything this July 19, 2023 patch fixed. Apex Legends July 19 patch notes Here are the full July 19 patch notes for Apex Legends: Being unable to spawn on control points in Control (and reenabled this mode) – An issue using Tridents as Fuse and Rampart – A crash caused by Stickers – Some Gun Run matches requiring more than one knife kill – Perhaps the biggest fix involved the Trident vehicle glitch. This glitch allowed characters like Fuse and Rampart to drive around in Tridents and avoid taking damage when the vehicle was shot. Normally, when a player drives a Trident, simply shooting the vehicle anywhere will cause any player riding in the vehicle to take damage. However, players who exploited this bug would only take damage when shot directly, which is very hard to do while driving a Trident around. Respawn also fixed an issue where certain instances with Stickers would cause the game to crash. Finally, this patch also amended two issues with two separate games for the Mixtape playlist: Control and Gun Run. For Control, Respawn fixed a bug where players were unable to spawn on control points during a match. Thanks to this bug, the developer temporarily removed Control from the mode rotation but has brought it back now that the issue has been resolved. As for Gun Run, some matches will no longer require players to get more than one kill with the Throwing Knife to end the game.

  • Apex Legends job listings confirm mobile version and new features coming – Dexerto

Apex Legends job listings confirm mobile version and new features coming Respawn EntertainmentA number of job listings at Respawn Entertainment provide valuable insight into what is coming down the pipeline for Apex Legends, including the long-awaited mobile version, new UI systems, and improved microtransactions and store options. Now approaching its seventh season, Apex Legends is in a spot of limbo. Season 5 boosted the game’s popularity, and although Season 6 has generally been a success, most players are just (impatiently) waiting for announced features like crossplay, plus the release on Steam and Switch. EA confirmed over a year ago now that a mobile version of Apex was coming, but it’s not due at the same time as the Switch release (fall 2020), and is expected later instead. But, exactly what stage of development it’s at is unclear, as Respawn are still hiring for a number of positions related to the mobile game. Respawn vacancies for mobile Apex Legends One of the main hires being made is for a senior game designer on the mobile version. “We’re looking for a Senior Game Designer who will lead the design vision for one of our unannounced mobile games,” the listing reads (although it’s categorized in the Apex Legends jobs section, so no secrets there). The game designer will “conceptualize and communicate new and engaging gameplay experiences”, as well as “establish player experience goals for designs, implement and tune features to meet those goals.” Another job listing for the mobile Apex Legends is a senior technical analyst, who will “will work directly with the Apex Legends Mobile team and its partners to analyze and provide insights to make the game more fun for players.” New UI systems and MTX designs Beyond the mobile version though, Respawn are hard at work on the main game too. A new Senior UX technical designer will work on features ranging “from improvements to current systems like Ranked, Stats and the Store, to creating new UX systems that have yet to be dreamed of.” It also appears that Respawn wants to make some improvements to their monetization systems in Apex. This includes both the in-game store, bundles, and microtransaction events (i.e. collect[jwplayer gX5fVj6e]ion events). A job listing for a Technical Designer on MTX events explains: “you will write code or script to improve the monetization aspects of the game, such as improving store menus, event structures, battle pass, and more.” Season 7 is now fast approaching, set to release early November, and Respawn opened up a new studio in Vancouver earlier this year, so it’s all hands on deck to continue Apex Legends’ success. With next-gen consoles also coming, there’s lots of work to be done.

  • Apex Legends January 23 update patch notes: Horizon nerf fixed and more – Dexerto

Apex Legends January 23 update patch notes: Horizon nerf fixed and more Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment rolled out a small patch for Apex Legends, addressing several bugs impacting the game. As part of the Spellbound Collection event update, community members noticed Horizon’s Gravity Lift had been hit with a secret nerf. Originally, players received no accuracy penalty while using the ability, but the patch made it harder to hit shots while hovering. Respawn reverted the changes on January 13, but a dev confirmed that a nerf would still come eventually. Shortly after, players unearthed another secret nerf, hindering Horizon’s Ultimate Ability. The Black Hole did not pull through shields, walls, or barriers, making it easier to counter a hard push using the ability. The development team cleared up any confusion about Horizon’s Tactical nerf in an update on January 23. Horizon Tactical Ability and other bug fixes coming to Apex Legends Respawn unveiled an update that reverts Horizon’s Tactical Ability changes. Horizon will no longer receive an accuracy penalty when firing while hovering during Gravity Lift. The announcement confused community members, as that change was already confirmed in a previous update. The developers clarified that, “‘Horizon tactical changes reverted’ refers to putting in a proper fix instead of the backend version we shipped last week. Players should see no change.” Third-person mode has always been available in Apex Legend’s firing range, allowing players to enjoy the game from a different perspective. Respawn accidentally removed the easter egg recently but added back the fan-favorite easter egg in the latest update. January 23 patch notes Here are the full update patch notes. Legends start with correct number of tactical charges in BR – Firing Range easter egg can be activated again – Eliminating Wraith by headshot no longer causes incorrect particle effects – Horizon’s tactical changes have been reverted –

  • Apex Legends January 18 update patch notes: Heirloom fixes, Match Summary changes, more – Dexerto

Apex Legends January 18 update patch notes: Heirloom fixes, Match Summary changes, more Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends released a small update on January 18, 2024, that adds a handful of fixes surrounding Season 19 and the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth event. Apex Legends Season 19 is slowly but surely coming to a close, but that doesn’t mean there haven’t been new content updates in 2024. In fact, Apex Legends hosted a major crossover event with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which introduced a Buster Sword universal Heirloom, a new game mode, and FF7-inspired skins. Now, developer Respawn Entertainment released an update on January 18, 2024, to fix a handful of issues involving Heirlooms, the Match Summary screen, and much more. Apex Legends January 18 patch notes Here are the full January 18 patch notes for Apex Legends: Ring and Survey Consoles no longer spawn in every location – You can once again break doors while using Octane’s Heirloom – Match Summary will now correctly show your Match Placement – Fixed a visual error when aiming down the sights of the Havoc – Fixed a crash specific to players on Xbox consoles – Fixed an issue with the Buster Sword R2R5 that would prevent players from using their abilities – Some of these issues had been widely reported by the community—like the Octane Heirloom bug and Match Summary glitch—so it’s nice to see them resolved. However, other fixes like the visual glitch with the Havac and crashing on Xbox were sorely needed. Additionally, fixing the issues surrounding the Buster Sword R2R5 is huge, as it prevented fans from using their abilities during games. This update is available for all players to download on every platform, so be sure to update the game as soon as possible. Hopefully, Season 19 of Apex Legends will continue without too many major issues, as Respawn gears up for the launch of Season 20 sometime soon.

  • Apex Legends January 13 update patch notes: Rampage and Sentinel return, Bangalore skin fix, more – Dexerto

Apex Legends January 13 update patch notes: Rampage and Sentinel return, Bangalore skin fix, more Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends January 13 update is Respawn’s biggest swing at patching out pertinent issues in the battle royale, including re-enabling both the Rampage and the Sentinel as well as fixing the Bangalore skin that’s been crashing the game. If you’ve played Apex recently you’ve likely noticed the absence of the Rampage and the Sentinel across all of the game’s playlists. That’s due to Respawn disabling both weapons after coming up empty-handed when looking for a fix for the popular infinite charge exploit that started doing the rounds back in December. On top of that, Respawn has also figured out the problem with that pesky new Bangalore skin that was causing instant crashing for anyone who brought into a lobby. Apex Legends January 13 update Rampage and Sentinel fixes The days of missing the Rampage and Sentinel are over as both guns are back in the game following a playlist update on January 13. At its peak, the problem got bad enough that devs were threatening to ban players who were taking advantage of the situation, but the devs have made certain that there’s no simple trick to beat their fix this time around. Fix for Bangalore’s Mil-Spec skin This skin was also disabled for a while, as even just having the skin equipped while hovering over Bangalore in the Legend Select screen would cause a player’s game to crash. After this patch players should be able to load in and buy the skin without any fear of game-ruining problems before it leaves the store on January 19. Apex Legends January 13 update patch notes A crash related to the MIL-SPEC skin – An issue with charging weapons – Re-enabling the MIL-SPEC skin, Rampage, and Sentinel in-game – You may notice the Rampage feels a bit different. We decreased the damage per bullet down from 28 -> 26 and increased the thermite consumption per shot in its charged state. Give it a try and let us know what ya think. As always, we appreciate your patience, legends. –

  • Apex Legends Jan 19 playlist update removes Olympus from rotation – Dexerto

Apex Legends Jan 19 playlist update removes Olympus from rotation Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment has removed Olympus from the current Apex Legends map rotation after players receive constant error messages. Apex Legends fans have experienced a frustrating few days following widespread connection issues that have completely barred some fans from playing at all. On top of those connection issues, many players have reported constant crashing followed by an error message that reads: “Engine Error – UI images ran out of room.” Now, it seems Olympus may have been the cause of this issue as Respawn has rolled out a new update that removed Olympus from the map rotation to hopefully alleviate the ongoing problem. Respawn removes Olympus from Apex Legends map rotation On January 19, 2023, Respawn’s official Twitter account announced they had rolled out an update that removed Olympus from the current map rotation and replaced it with World’s Edge. According to Respawn, “This will allow us to continue to work on the issue without impacting gameplay.” Unfortunately, it’s currently unclear when exactly Olympus will make its way back into the map rotation so fans will just have to keep an eye out for any further word from Respawn. This is undoubtedly a letdown for Olympus fans as the map had finally made its way into the Ranked rotation for Season 15’s second split. While those who enjoy playing pubs have been able to enjoy Olympus throughout Season 15, those eager to try out the map in Ranked once again are going to have to wait for a bit while World’s Edge takes its place. For now, it seems all players can do is wait for any further updates surrounding the changes to Season 15’s map rotation. Hopefully with a bit more time, Respawn is able to figure out the root of the problem and get the map back into the rotation as quickly as possible.

  • New Apex Legends character would be the perfect counter to pesky campers – Dexerto

New Apex Legends character would be the perfect counter to pesky campers This Apex Legends character concept would put an end to camping by just annihilating doors. With Season 1 of Apex Legends came the release of new Legend Octane and there are rumors that another one is on the way. Octane has done a good job so far of mixing things up so far but fans are always looking forward to new content. One hungry fan has come up with a new concept for a Legend and while the character may be a parody, there are still some concrete ideas that could certainly work for a character. Jack Breacher, a parody of the Tom Cruise character Jack Reacher, is the idea and he would effectively put an end to camping in Apex Legends. Jack Breacher will end camping This concept was created by Reddit user BottlecapXbox and overall it looks like a pretty solid Legend was designed here. Jack Breacher would have the ability to kick down doors with just one kick along with coming with a flashbang that would blind would-be campers. It’s definitely a concept that would work quite well within the confines of Apex Legends but players are worried the flashbang grenades could create problems in the game. Here’s a look at the perks: Passive: Leadfoot – Break doors with one kick and stuns enemies – Tactical: Flashbang – Toss a grenade that briefly blinds enemies – Ultimate: Battering Ram: Charge forward with an unbreakable shield, knocking back and damaging enemies – 9-bangs were a huge issue in Black Ops 4’s Blackout battle royale mode, so much so so that Treyarch had to remove them from the game. Things might be a little different in Apex Legends with their flashbangs so we’re willing to give it a chance here. Jack Breacher’s Ultimate would be interesting to see in action as he turns into a battering ram and knocks opponents back while also damaging them. This Ultimate sounds very similar to how Winston’s Ultimate works in Overwatch so think of it like that but just added into Apex Legends. While it’s unlikely that Breacher will ever see the light of day in Apex Legends, new legends are in the pipeline and will likely be added to the game sooner rather than later.

  • Apex Legends item exploit makes grenades completely useless – Dexerto

Apex Legends item exploit makes grenades completely useless Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer y770CzB5]Apex Legends players have uncovered a strange bug that lets them completely avoid damage from a grenade or Arc Star even though they still explode. Just like during any other Apex Legends season, fans of the battle royale have been uncovering a number of bugs and issues throughout season five. Some have been pretty minor while others have made ultimate abilities useless, prevented players from looting, and even let them hide under the map. However, a new problem seems to be rearing its head, as players have found a way to completely nullify grenades. Some had tested out the problem by throwing backpacks on top of a live grenade, and Arc Star, before it exploded, but YouTuber Ottr has taken things one step further with his experiment. In his July 19 video, the Apex Legends content creator noted that players had uncovered the grenade issue previously but that he wanted to try it out for himself. While in the firing range training mode, he showcased that when a grenade lands near a player, they can simply drop any item on top of it, and even though the grenade will explode, it will not deal any damage. That’s right, you can drop anything from a normal backpack to a first aid kit, to gold body armor, and blue helmets on top of the explosive to avoid taking damage. Why is this the case? Well, the YouTuber noted that it seems like if you can obscure the line of sight of the grenade, it can’t deal damage. While you’d have to think quickly on your feet during a game to be able to prevent taking damage, it’s something that could become an issue. Whether or not Respawn are aware of the problem and looking to sort it out is unknown as, at the time of writing, it has not appeared on their Trello board of known issues. We’ll just have to wait and see if they decide to do something about it.

  • Apex Legends isn’t changing aim assist just yet, despite crossplay launch – Dexerto

Apex Legends isn’t changing aim assist just yet, despite crossplay launch Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends won’t be making major changes to aim assist just yet, despite now pairing console and PC players in the same matches following the long-awaited Aftermarket event update, which is set to go live across all servers on Oct. 6. [jwplayer uM9jLDgy] In the past, Respawn has admitted aim assist on consoles is apparently “way stronger” than on PC. This disparity, discovered by ILootGames back in July, led most Apex Legends players to believe Respawn would tweak aim assist values when crossplay finally arrived. That appears not to be the case, however. According to director Chad Grenier, the aim assist differences will remain in Apex Legends for the time being. The reason? Well, Respawn “needs some more time” to make sure they can pull off the swap without enraging one camp or the other. The aim assist debate is filled with passionate fans, and the Apex devs are going to tread very carefully. “Changing aim assist for millions of players one and a half years post-launch is something that can really upset people, as is making console aim assist match the same PC values,” the Apex Legends game director admitted in on Reddit. “[The development process] needs some time.” The Respawn team is also apprehensive of making sweeping changes to core functions in the near future, after the wave of backlash the Apex Legends dev copped after their decision to fiddle with TTK [time to kill] heading into Season 6. “Everyone came at us pitchforks with the TTK changes,” Grenier admitted on Oct. 1. “I’m not wanting to go through that again with aim assist.” Those that are worried the same aim assist issues rival titles like Warzone and Fortnite have faced could seep into Apex Legends can breathe easy. Grenier, and the Respawn team, seem to be on the case; they just want to get it right. Grenier also confirmed there would be some “tweaks” to crossplay coming in the near future, to try and balance Apex Legends matches for console and computer players. “We talked about [matching based on inputs on PC], and are considering it,” he said. “There’s an added challenge for us that we have different aim assist settings between PC and console, so more discussion is needed on our end. Our priority was to get this feature out the door… now we’ve done that, we can listen and tweak.” The Apex Legends crossplay beta goes live on Tuesday, October 6.

  • Apex Legends is reportedly banning players for naming themselves Andrew Tate – Dexerto

Apex Legends is reportedly banning players for naming themselves Andrew Tate RespawnEA are reportedly banning players for using the name ‘Andrew Tate’ in Apex Legends, with a number of accounts allegedly suspended for the offense. The rise and subsequent fall of Andrew Tate has been a big story on the internet in 2022. The former kickboxer came under increasing scrutiny for his controversial takes and was accused of misogyny for his views on women. Resultantly, he was banned from major social media sites including YouTube and Twitch. While the creator denounced “attacks” against him, there have been no hints that the decisions will be reversed and some prominent figures have responded positively to the news. Now, it appears that EA are cracking down on references to the 35-year-old, with the use of his name in Apex Legends appearing to be a bannable offense. Apex Legends players reportedly banned for name ‘Andrew Tate’ One Redditor, on September 2, claimed they had been banned from the battle royale for the in-game name “Andrew Tate”. They claimed the figure had been “deplatformed” on Apex and shared a message received from EA. The message states that the name “breaks our Positive Play Charter” and, even if intended as a joke, “may still disrupt the game for others”. It appears that others have been banned for the same offense, with former leaker Garret stating on September 3 that “several people with this username have been banned”. They attached an identical image of an EA ban message, which also showed that the in-game name is in violation of policies on “hateful conduct”. As of the time of writing, Respawn and EA have not responded to the apparent development, but players do appear to be getting banned for sporting the former kickboxer’s name in-game. While some did raise the question of what to do if your name is Andrew Tate and you want to play Apex, there is a simple solution: don’t take the risk and use the name in-game.

  • Apex Legends release for Nintendo Switch delayed – Dexerto

Apex Legends release for Nintendo Switch delayed EARespawn Entertainment has announced that they are delaying the official release of Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch, after announcing their launch on Steam for PC players. The news that Apex was coming to Switch was first shared during the EA Play Live event on June 18, where they revealed the next stages of the game’s development. It finally put a host of rumors and leaks to bed since Apex’s debut back in 2019, as players wanted to immediately take the Arena with them on-the-go shortly after launch. The news would have opened the game to expand its player count by millions, but Switch players will now have to wait a little longer after further delays were announced. Apex Legends Nintendo Switch release date Respawn confirmed that the new Switch port has been delayed until early 2021 after it was expected to arrive with the Steam version of the game. “For those who game on the Nintendo Switch, we’re still hard at work on the port, but in order to do justice to the game and make it into the great experience Switch players deserve, our team needs more time,” Apex Game Director Chad Grenier confirmed, on October 23. “This year has brought on unexpected new challenges, to put it mildly, and we don’t want to rush anything out,” the Respawn dev continued, “Switch owners can expect to get their hands on Apex Legends next year.” While it is being delayed, he confirmed that it still arrive with all of the expected features, “of course, when Apex Legends does launch on Switch, it’ll come with support for cross-platform play, our latest seasonal content, and full feature parity with the other versions of the game.” This won’t be the first time a major battle royale comes to Nintendo Switch. EA and Apex Legends are going to compete against Epic Games and Fortnite for the many battle royale fans on the platform. The initial announcement was a longtime coming. Reports for a Nintendo Switch port have been around for about as long as Apex Legends has been released to the world. In a 2019 interview only months after Apex’s release, Project lead at the time, Drew McCoy, said that the company knew a Nintendo port was on many people’s wishlist. Since then, it’s been a waiting game for Nintendo fans who have been waiting to get into the Arena. There were a lot of questions revolving around the technical limitations of the Switch that would be a hurdle for a port, but the developers are now committed to releasing it early in 2021. It’s unclear what the download size for the Switch version will be, so stay tuned to Dexerto for all the latest information on the upcoming Apex Legends port.

  • Apex Legends is making it much easier to find a weapon – Dexerto

Apex Legends is making it much easier to find a weapon Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends will soon receive a big change to its Loot Bins to help players get a weapon as soon as they drop into a match. Apex Legends’s upcoming Upheaval update will introduce a change where every unarmed player will have a guaranteed weapon inside of the first Loot Bin they open after dropping. Since the game’s release, players have had to scavenge around the maps to find a weapon at the beginning of the match, sometimes searching several Loot Bins before finding one with a weapon. This resulted in a lot of early deaths as players ran into bad luck that caused them to be unarmed when an opponent found them. It could be a truly frustrating experience as it was something out of players’ control, leading to the beginning of an Apex Legends match feeling like something of a toss-up. This is changing with an adjustment that helps keep the pace of the game going. Giving a guaranteed weapon in every person’s first Loot Bin is a big shift that will significantly cut back on “downtime” looking for a weapon, while also reducing frustration. It also appears there is a chance for some higher-quality weapons to spawn in Loot Bins, as the devs note bins will at least feature low-tier weapons. The odds of players finding weapons of a higher rarity are unknown, but it may be the normal spawn rate for weapons in the game. So far, the Apex Legends community has been welcoming of this change, with some players saying they’ve been wanting this since “Year 1.” Many players point to the fact that it will cut back on the difficulty of dropping into higher-populated areas of the map and allow everyone to get into the fight much faster. Of course, there are still possibilities for problems, such as a player opening a Loot Bin, only for their teammate to snag the weapon there instead. Because of this, the mechanic could be tweaked further in the future. For now, Apex Legends fans will just have to wait and see when this change is implemented alongside Season 21 on May 7.

  • Apex Legends is losing players as Steam player count hits lowest in over 3 years – Dexerto

Apex Legends is losing players as Steam player count hits lowest in over 3 years Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has fallen to its lowest player count in over three years on Steam, with many fans deciding they’ve had enough of Respawn’s battle royale. When Respawn Entertainment first launched Apex Legends, they brought a shake-up to the battle royale scene that the genre had yet to see. While the formula of drop, loot, and survive was the same as Fortnite and PUBG, Apex’s twist of having characters with unique abilities immediately propelled it to the top of the gaming world. The futuristic battle royale had remained up there for a fair few years, but it has started to drop off. Players have complained about Respawn’s changes to the gameplay, cheaters running wild, and constant server problems. While the devs attempted to address a few of those issues in Season 22, it hasn’t exactly gone to plan. Fans have been annoyed by Crypto’s new Off the Grid ability, which allows him to go invisible while using the drone, amongst a few other issues. As a result, Apex’s player count has continued to drop. This follows the slight hiccups of the last few months where players have walked away from the game, but as of early September, it has now reached its lowest point on Steam in over three years. As per SteamCharts, the average player count on Steam has been a tick above 120k. This is the lowest its been since February 2021, when it also clocked in at around 120k. That number is set to bottom out again as well, as, for the last 30 days, the average player count has dropped to 112k. The peak player count has also dropped way down to 260k in the last month, which is lower than August’s peak of 314k. Of course, this is only the Steam count and doesn’t factor in consoles or EA’s Origin platform. However, it should be concerning enough to get on Respawn’s radar when it comes to considering future changes.

  • Apex Legends is giving every player free Apex Packs: How to claim them – Dexerto

Apex Legends is giving every player free Apex Packs: How to claim them Respawn EntertainmentRespawn is giving out free Apex Packs to Apex Legends players following a massive data outage and recovery process that saw many players lose their progression and cosmetics. Respawn announced on April 10 that it will be giving away free Apex Packs to all Apex Legends players as a thank-you for their “patience as we work through the data outage and the data recovery process.” The data outage was the result of a presumed bugged update for the launch of the new split that caused many Apex players to lose progression in the battle pass, challenges, ranked gains, and even account level. The developer has since been communicative to the player base about how it is fixing the issue and returning players’ accounts to where they were before the update. How to claim free Apex Packs All players need to do to claim the free Apex Packs from Respawn is to log in to their Apex Legends accounts before April 24 at 10 AM PT. Players do not need to do anything else in the client, and they will receive eight Apex Packs to open at their discretion. Respawn hopes to continue earning more goodwill from its player base following a rough few weeks of layoffs, a high-profile hacking incident, and a massive data outage and recovery process.

  • Apex Legends is getting gun stickers like Warzone and players aren’t happy – Dexerto

Apex Legends is getting gun stickers like Warzone and players aren’t happy Respawn/EAApex Legends players will soon be able to kit their guns out with stickers like Call of Duty: Warzone and Counter-Strike fans can, but some aren’t too pleased about it. Just like many other battle royale titles, Respawn Entertainment have given Apex Legends players to chance to collect plenty of cosmetics over the years, ranging from incredibly dapper character skins all the way down to holo-sprays for taunting fallen enemies. While there have been some complaints about Respawn overstocking the cosmetics side of things – making some rewards feel just like filler – there are plenty of fans who are hungry to collect more. It seems as if those fans will have the chance to do so too, with new leaks suggesting that gun stickers could be the next customization option that the devs introduce. That’s right, Apex Legends players should soon be able to decorate their favorite weapons with stickers – just like Warzone and CS:GO players have been able to do. The code for the stickers was first uncovered in early 2022, but on May 28, YouTuber HyperMyst gave players a first look at a handful of character stickers decorating a range of the battle royale’s weapons – including those that you may already have a rare skin for. As the YouTuber shows, the first crop of stickers are the game’s characters in a more cartoonish and child-like form, rather than how they normally look in-game. And, of course, there is a Nessy one to boot. The first look hasn’t impressed everyone, with some fans taking shots at Respawn for adding more cosmetics. “Fingers crossed you can only get them in sticker packs,” said one. “Charms and stickers, the two most useless cosmetic items possible,” added another. As of now, there is no release stated for the new cosmetics, and it remains to be seen as to when they’ll be implemented to the game.

  • Apex Legends is finally buffing the “fan-favorite” Mozambique – Dexerto

Apex Legends is finally buffing the “fan-favorite” Mozambique Your dreams will no longer be memes as the Mozambique is finally getting a buff, which means it might not be the worst weapon in Apex Legends anymore. The thing with the Mozambique is not only is it widely considered to be one of the worst weapons in the game, but it’s also a shotgun that’s strength has been compared to hitting somebody with a pool noodle. Respawn has leaned in quite heavily into the meme, even adding in an animation that allows players to toss away the weapon in disgust. However, this animation might not have a use for that much longer. Mozambique buff here! Respawn revealed during EA Play 2019 buffs were coming to the Mozambique but they didn’t go into any extra detail about what the buff will be but we do know improvements are on the way and the gun will become usable. There are a lot of directions Respawn could take the Mozambique in whether that’s a simple damage buff or a complete rework. Whatever they decide on will likely be well received by the players since the weapon is currently best left on the ground. Natalie “Wattson” Paquette made the Apex Arena’s Ring a reality. Outside of this Mozambique buff, there are several things coming with the new season that will get players excited. Fans have been starving for new content and Respawn will be delivering in a big way. Read More: Dragons teased for Apex Legends Season 2 – The biggest news to come out of Season 2 is the addition of Wattson as the new hero. Also confirmed is the new L-Star SMG and a ranked mode that will give players different rewards at the end of the season based on where they ended up at. Season 2 kicks off on July 2 and players will be able to test out all of the new content then.

  • Apex Legends is adding a no-guns LTM in Season 7: Olympus Preview – Dexerto

Apex Legends is adding a no-guns LTM in Season 7: Olympus Preview Respawn Entertainment/EAIf you saw the new Apex Legends map called Olympus and thought to yourself “I’d like to explore that without having to deal with annoying enemies”, then Respawn Entertainment has the perfect solution: a no-weapon LTM called Olympus Preview. [jwplayer Do3m9qnp] With the start of Season 7, Respawn Entertainment is adding a brand new map to Apex Legends called Olympus. After being rumored for quite a while now, the developers finally confirmed the news during the Season 7 trailer, and gave fans an even deeper dive into the map during the gameplay reveal. While that’s all well and good, being forced to jump into a map that you don’t know and immediately fight other players trying to experience the same thing is always a bit annoying in battle royale games. Luckily, the developers seem to have a solution, and it’s a cool concept. New Olympus Preview LTM With the start of Season 7, Respawn will be including a new limited-time mode called Olympus Preview, which will allow players to explore and experience everything the new map has to offer without having to deal with other opponents that immediately try to kill you. The new 30-player mode will give fans an opportunity to jump into the map and test it out to their heart’s content. They’ll even be able to test the circles. A new limited time mode coming in Season 7: Olympus Preview. There are no guns, you just get to explore the map and learn the ring rotations. pic.twitter.com/XPIa3MpqfI — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) October 30, 2020 When a new map gets added to a battle royale game, not just Apex Legends, a lot of players just want a few matches to explore and experience it before having to fight others, so this helps solve that problem. It also helps fans familiarize themselves with it so that they aren’t jumping in completely blind. The first Ranked split will be on Olympus too, so if you’re a competitive player, this new LTM comes highly recommended. It’ll be interesting to see Apex continues this trend as time goes on. Obviously, that would require them to keep adding new maps but, nevertheless, it’s a fun concept to say the least.

  • Apex Legends Iron Crown update: All weapon and legend balance changes – Dexerto

Apex Legends Iron Crown update: All weapon and legend balance changes Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends devs have released their highly anticipated Iron Crown event on August 13, which brought along with it various balance changes to the guns and legends in the game. The Iron Crown Event launched on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, giving players entirely new ways of competing in King’s Canyon, namely with the addition of a Solo mode. But before they drop into the Apex Games, players might want to look at the balances Respawn Entertainment made to fan-favorite weapons like the Alternator, RE-45 and more. Alternator getting nerfed for Iron Crown Players might be wondering why their Alternator isn’t destroying shields like it used to, even with the Disruptor Round Hop-Up. “Disruptor rounds on the alternator are shredding shields a bit too quickly and still proving to be stronger than intended,” the devs said in the latest patch. “So we’re reducing the disruptor rounds multiplier on shield damage.” The devs have reduced the “shielded damage multiplier” for the Disruptor from 1.7 down a bit to 1.55. Devs toning down the R-301 at range The R-301 might have been too reliable at long range, as the devs are making it a bit harder to land shots outside of mid range scenarios. “We’ve made these changes as we’ve seen that the R301 is a bit stronger than intended at long range,” the Respawn devs noted. “We’ve adjusted recoil to balance keeping it effective at medium to close range.” Respawn wanted the rifle to be more aligned with its “original intent,” as they’re making it harder to “auto fire and still laser enemies at long distances.” The Technological Tracker got an upgrade Bloodhound players are already loving the Iron Crown event as it gave the legend a new Heirloom weapon, along with key upgrades to track foes much more effectively. They will now be able to see traversal clues left by other players at a greater distance, since the devs increased the range of Bloodhound’s Passive Ability to 25 meters. Similarly, the devs adjusted the area of effect for Eye of the Allfather to an eye-opening 110 fov. There’s a lot more to unpack with the various tweaks to weapons and characters, so make sure to read the patch notes for them below. Apex Legends Season 2 – Weapon and Legends Patch Notes WEAPON BALANCE Disruptor Rounds with Alternator: Reduced Shielded damage multiplier 1.7 -> 1.55. Designer Notes: Disruptor rounds on the alternator are shredding shields a bit too quickly and still proving to be stronger than intended, so we’re reducing the disruptor rounds multiplier on shield damage. – – RE-45: Increased Magazine Size for all tiers to the following: Base: 16 – Common: 19 – Rare: 22 – Epic: 25 – Designer Notes: We’re giving the RE-45 a small boost in power by giving it one more round for every mag size. Downing a non-fortified enemy with the RE-45 with 0, 50, 75, and 100 shields requires 10, 14, 16, and 19 shots respectively, so this extra round gives the gun the ability to one-mag more armored enemies instead of leaving them barely alive. – – R-301: Increased vertical and horizontal recoil. Slightly increased recoil pattern randomness. Designer Notes: We’ve made these changes as we’ve seen that the R301 is a bit stronger than intended at long range. We’ve adjusted recoil to balance keeping it effective at medium to close range–which is the original intent–but it should be more difficult for players to auto fire and still laser enemies at long distances. – – LEGENDS General Made adjustments to Pathfinder’s and Low-Profile Legends hitboxes. Taking shots to the hip now does torso damage instead of leg damage. This should more closely match the behavior of the other Legends. – – Fixed a bug where activating a healing item would cancel the Ultimate for Legends that need to prime it [Bangalore / Pathfinder / Caustic / Gibraltar / Bloodhound] – Fixed an exploit where players would sometimes be able to still shoot while downed. – Bloodhound Increased the distance that Bloodhound can see traversal clues left by other players [but not other kinds of clues] to 25 meters. – Adjusted the area of effect for Bloodhound’s Tactical to 110 fov. – Wraith Based on player feedback, we’ve reduced the “hum” audio that’s playing while using Wraith’s Kunai. – Fixed issue where actions for Wrath would have a slight delay when her weapon is holstered and crouching or sliding while the kunai is equipped. – Fixed an exploit that allowed players to remove the cooldown for Wraith’s Tactical Ability. – Mirage Fixed a bug where Bloodhound’s Ultimate Ability could be activated with no charge up time while riding a zipline. – Fixed bug where Mirage was able to stay invisible and still be able to shoot and melee when using his Ultimate on a zipline. – Octane Fixed bug where sometimes Octane’s Jump Pad would not launch the player. –

  • Apex Legends Iron Crown parody slams microtransaction controversy – Dexerto

Apex Legends Iron Crown parody slams microtransaction controversy Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends community have not been appreciating trends in the Iron Crown in-game event, and a parody reflecting on the outrage has been hitting all the right notes with players so far. The overflow of praises that Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale received immediately after its February 4 launch seems to have quieted down in the aftermath of questionable microtransactions introduced in the Iron Crown event. From social media sites like Reddit, Twitter, YouTube, and the like, Apex Legends players have been strongly voicing their opposition against bizarre revenue tactics that are offering players Iron Crown Event Packs for roughly $7 each. In a YouTube video that’s proving to be incredibly popular with the Apex community, content creator ‘Retrospect’ sliced and diced various clips from Avengers: Infinity War, Twitch streamers and more to troll the company on their latest tactics in the game. “Spent two days editing the ‘Iron Crown’ trailer to better reflect the communities opinion on Loot Boxes,” Restrospect said. It seems like the effort paid off in full as people in the Apex Legends community have been responding tremendously well to the YouTuber’s video promoting the “Go Fuck Yourself – Limited Time Mode.” The video touches on the disappointing drops that come out of the Apex Packs, the mass disappointment from the community in response to them, and EA’s apparent looming presence that the community is convinced is behind it all. “This game is absolutely amazing and I’ve spent countless hours into it,” Restrospect explained to someone out of the loop on the Apex Legends hate. “The devs are incredible… the problem lies with these new loot boxes. It’s $7 per box and it’s a random chance for you to get one of the special items that’s come out with the new event. Plain and simple scummy” While there’s still a ton of positives for the actual game of Apex Legends, the new Iron Crown event hasn’t inspired much trust in the community after the August 13 update. The parody has been a hit with Apex Legends fans, and if anything could be a great source of rich feedback in case the company behind the game wants to find a way to win favor with their audience again.

  • Apex Legends: Iron Crown event skins revealed – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Iron Crown event skins revealed Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends community are getting hyped over the August 6 announcement that revealed, among other things, brand new skins dropping for various characters in the game. Respawn Entertainment have been on a tear with delivering content that their player base have been vigorously requesting. One such idea is the inclusion of a solo mode, which will be coming to the battle royale for a small stint. Though players might have been too hyped on the solo mode announcement to notice that the devs also gave a peak into the first of what could be many new skins in the upcoming in-game event. In their Twitter announcement, the Apex Legends devs gave a look at a myriad of upcoming designs that are perfectly suited for the Iron Crown Collection Event which will take place on August 13. “Next week, only one can reign,” the announcement read. “The Iron Crown Collection Event featuring an all-new Solos limited time mode begins 8/13.” It looks like Mirage, Bloodhound, Lifeline and Bangalore are all getting new designs for the upcoming event in the game. Read more: Is another Wattson skin on the way? – Mirage’s skin looks similar to a previous red-vested design, but this time he’s got a shiny new set of customized holo devices glittering in gold. Bloodhound has suited up for their incursions in the Apex Games. The Technological Tracker can be seen in a medieval-style suit of armor complete with bold red feathers peering from their helmet. Meanwhile, Lifeline is getting an incredible skin that shows her covered in a black outfit with majestic gold trimming, highlighted by what appears to be a mask of some sort. Finally, Bangalore is looking like a stunner with a new active skin that shows a glimmering chainmail design from the future. Season 2 has already delivered on similarly epic skins for Caustic as well as Octane, and it looks like the collection is going to grow even further in the Iron Crown Collection Event which will run from August 13 to August 27.

  • Apex Legends’ Iron Crown event is bringing an awesome Wraith skin – Dexerto

Apex Legends’ Iron Crown event is bringing an awesome Wraith skin Graphics: Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment have revealed that a brand new Iron Crown Collection Event will soon bring some exciting new skins to Apex Legends, and Wraith’s has been revealed. There has been a significant amount of buzz surrounding the in-game event since the announcement was first made on August 6, where it was revealed that a solos mode was finally being added to the game. However, while that news might have got fans ramped up for what’s coming soon in Kings Canyon, just two days later developers have given us a first-look at a brand new Wraith skin and it’s very different to anything added to the game before. The new outfit kicks her standard black and purple costume to the curb, replacing it with a brand new design. In fact, this new ‘Protector of the Void’ version of Wraith is barely recognizable when compared to the original character. This one even has blonde hair! Respawn revealed what many believe to be the first of many event exclusive skins using their official Apex Legends Twitter account, as seen below. The Protector of the Void skin will be legendary in terms of its variant and will be made available at the beginning of the event on August 13. R̶e̶d̶a̶c̶t̶e̶d̶, First of Her Name, Protector of the Void ⚔ Prepare to fight for your honor, only one can emerge victorious. However, those are still yet to be confirmed and judging by this new-look Wraith cosmetic, perhaps fans can expect to see even more as we approach the start of the Iron Crown Collection Event – which is set to run until August 27.

  • Apex Legends invisible wall bug makes players invulnerable on Encore map – Dexerto

Apex Legends invisible wall bug makes players invulnerable on Encore map Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have discovered an invisible wall on the new Encore Arenas map that blocks all bullets, explosives, and abilities. On October 12, the Monsters Within event officially kicked off in Apex Legends, introducing a range of spooky cosmetics and new objectives for players to complete. Although the community loved these additions, it’s the new Encore Arenas map that’s getting the most attention and praise. Despite this, there are a few issues with the Seer-inspired location that are causing some frustration for players. One of which is a bug allowing enemies to shoot through the terrain, and another involves an invisible wall that players are using to become completely invulnerable. Apex Legends invisible wall glitch is ruining Arenas matches The Arenas game mode is all about fast-paced gunfights and team play, so when an invisible wall is making players unkillable, it’s safe to say it slows down the action and can be extremely frustrating for both squads. Well, that’s exactly what’s been discovered on the Encore Arenas map and showcased by keanetjd on Reddit. The spot appears to be on the lower section of the map, underneath a ledge in one of the corners. By sitting in this exact spot, an invisible wall blocks all incoming and outgoing fire, so it’s not impossible to be eliminated. As seen in the clip, the ring will eventually force any players using the location out of the safe spot, but it makes it easy for players to stall out the match. Bugs like this are a serious problem for Respawn, as they disturb the flow of the game and ruin any tactics squads attempt to use. If this spot isn’t fixed soon, it’ll become the norm for a player to run to the location and teams will become increasingly frustrated. Let’s hope the devs put out a fix as soon as possible and prevent players from abusing the spot to lure or bait squads to group together.

  • Apex Legends invisible room location found on Storm Point map – Dexerto

Apex Legends invisible room location found on Storm Point map Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are finding whole teams living within the walls of an invisible room on Storm Point that’s being used as a deadly trap. Respawn Entertainment are currently fixing some of the bigger issues on Apex’s fourth map. The studio expects to make sweeping changes to Season 11’s map in an upcoming update and players want it to address a rat spot near Antenna. The Apex Legends community is finding that players are holding up inside one of the Antenna’s bridges that clearly has solid walls surrounding its base. This bug has been in the game since ‘Escape’ went live on November 2 and it’s been causing problems for people getting blindsided by those using it to their advantage. Apex Legends’ invisible room on Storm Point Apex Legends wall bug People like Reddit user ‘Petervg1810’ saw that a team was freely going in and out of Antenna’s bridge that has a hollow bottom. The POI has three bridges that players can use to access the dense loot spawns at the center of the area. But when a player comes strolling by, they’re surprised to find a team waiting for them who appear out of nowhere. Like we saw in Petervg1810’s clip, teams are strategically using the area around those bridges but those plans are getting completely derailed by the glitch. Apex players are asking Respawn to patch the exploit since the bug is getting a lot of mileage in both casual and competitive playlists. “I found Antenna Bridge Trolls abusing this spot in a Ranked Game yesterday,” another user said. “Devs, please patch this.” Read more: Apex Legends Season 11 review – Storm Point already had a few map glitches patched since it debuted. Previously, there were spots around the map that would make people fall through the ground to their eventual dooms. We’ve seen Respawn move fast on glitches that prove to be disruptive to gameplay before so Apex Legends players are hoping the same will be true for Storm Point’s invisible room.

  • Apex Legends invisible Pathfinder glitch is ruining games – Dexerto

Apex Legends invisible Pathfinder glitch is ruining games Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players can pick between a ton of different characters that all have different abilities. Pathfinder is a Legend that revolves around mobility and being able to create new lanes. However, a bug has apparently added an unwanted invisibility perk to his kit and is ruining games. Pathfinder’s kit is definitely one of the more fun ones to use. With his ability giving him a grappling hook, you can really close the gap on enemies and get in their face. On top of this, Pathfinder can create a new zip line anywhere on the map when he activates his ultimate. All this makes him one of the most picked characters in Season 10, but now players are fuming over a new bug that lets him go invisible. Apex Legend Pathfinder glitch makes him invisible While Season 10 has brought a lot of new content to the game, there have also been some game-breaking bugs with certain characters — and Pathfinder now finds himself on that list. In this Reddit clip posted by ‘Rini2g’ you can see this new glitch in full effect. When the Pathfinder starts to use the Shield Cell, the character model just goes full Harry Potter mode and disappears. You can see that there is nothing that is provoking this other than the Pathfinder starting to heal themself. While it may seem harmless this is wrecking games and players are mad. One person in the comments said that they have been killed because they didn’t realize there was someone near them. While other players suggested that players abusing this should be banned. One Redditor says that this is caused by using certain skins and getting a specific animation. There is no way to confirm the exact way this is happening but players are hoping Respawn Entertainment fix this as soon as possible.

  • Apex Legends players convinced they’ve found invisible ability clue for new Legend – Dexerto

Apex Legends players convinced they’ve found invisible ability clue for new Legend Electronic ArtsAn in-game magazine has some Apex Legends players convinced that the next new addition to the roster will boast invisible abilities. Of course, Apex has played host to a character, specifically Mirage, with invisibility-based skills in the past. A post-launch patch for the game expanded Mirage’s cloaking ability, allowing the character to fully turn invisible when cloaked. The Season 5 update took things a step further, making it difficult to spot Mirage and a teammate during revivals or the use of a Respawn Beacon. His powerset in this regard has since been dialed back a bit. But players think they’ve found evidence to suggest cloaking in full will soon return to Apex Legends. In-game Apex Legends art may tease invisible powers for new hero Apex player iandelacerna shared a screenshot on the game’s subreddit of a magazine boasting the following line of text: “The New Science of Invisibility.” The text sits atop an image of a partially cloaked soldier wielding an assault rifle. Notably, the cloak renders the character’s bottom half invisible. The Reddit user asked fellow fans whether this may constitute a “possible teaser for a new Legend.” It certainly doesn’t seem beyond the realm of possibility. While some think a new hero of this type could join Apex, other Redditors aren’t convinced given Mirage’s history with invisibility. In addition, there are those who believe the magazine may merely serve as another Titanfall easter egg. One person suggested the pictured soldier is Titanfall 2 protagonist Jack Cooper. Whatever the case, it would seem many Apex Legends players remain eager to give invisibility skills another chance to shine.

  • Apex Legends disables broken leavers penalties in Arenas – Dexerto

Apex Legends disables broken leavers penalties in Arenas Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends’ 1.69 patch has fixed some of the game’s most frustrating bugs and glitches, but now some players are encountering Arenas abandon penalties for no seemingly no reason. Respawn has had to temporarily disable the feature. Despite Apex Legends’ latest 1.69 patch tackling major issues like Wattson’s fences and fixing various map exploits, it seems the update has brought with it a new problem entirely. Since the patch went live, numerous reports have been flooding in from players that have received abandon penalties for leaving finished Arenas matches. Respawn recently made a huge quality of life change in the Arenas mode by introducing a leaver penalty system that punishes early quitters in the game. However, the devs have now had to remove this feature completely after innocent players were also being punished. Arenas abandon penalties Apex Legends’ Arenas mode has proved incredibly popular amongst the playerbase since its release in Season 9. Not only does it enable players to flex their mechanical skills in smaller 3v3 fights, but it also provides a nice break from the competitive casual/ranked BR lobbies. However, the introduction of abandon penalties to the mode has caused some rather strange issues. In fact, many Apex Legends players have been flooding into the game’s official Reddit page to address the broken abandon penalty function. For now, it seems as though the new leaver bans are working a little too well, with players stating they’re receiving penalties for leaving finished Arenas matches. The problem seems to arise when you leave during the end game animation screen, which obviously doesn’t equate to being AFK or leaving a live match. Fortunately, Respawn’s Director of Comms addressed the issue. “Hoo boy. Investigating. Never happened in playtests. Computers are wild sometimes.” On May 26, the leavers penalties were disabled to prevent anymore wrongful timeouts. A small @PlayApex update: We’ve temporarily disabled leaver penalties in Arenas due to the system sometimes issuing inappropriate punishments. The fix for this is scheduled for later this week, so we’ll let you know when we’ve solved the problem and restored penalties. — Respawn (@Respawn) May 26, 2021 As of writing, Respawn has temporarily disabled leaver penalties in Arenas to help combat the inappropriate punishments players were facing. The removal of leaver penalties will obviously enable players to leave Arenas matches without any repercussions, but this is a small price to pay for those that had been unjustly hit with time penalties for leaving finished matches.

  • Apex Legends introduces solo mode on mobile but leaves out PC & console versions – Dexerto

Apex Legends introduces solo mode on mobile but leaves out PC & console versions Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends mobile has brought in a solo game mode, however, there is no word yet on whether the new feature will be coming to the PC and console versions of the game. While it was leaked and hinted at back in June 2022 that mobile would be getting the solo mode before PC and console, the recent patch notes for Apex Legends mobile have now confirmed this to be true. The October 3, 2022 Aftershow patch notes for Apex Legends mobile have brought with them the inclusion of the solo battle royale mode. However, this new game mode add-on is only being made available to the mobile version of the game. The PC and console versions of Apex Legends are still yet to receive the solo playlist. Apex Legends’ solo mode gives gamers the chance to test their skills without having the comfort of other teammates to back them up. Players face off against one another, with the last person standing being crowned the winner of the game. While PC and console Apex Legends fans are upset that the mode is still unavailable for them – its inclusion in the mobile version of the game does indicate that there is a chance it will arrive at a later date. In January of 2021, Respawn doubled down on the idea that solo would not become a staple of the Apex experience, writing the following in a blog post on January 8, 2021. “When we introduced Solos as a limited-time mode last year we saw it actually negatively impacted the game, especially when it came to new player retention. We’ve also purposely designed Legends and their abilities to compliment team-play and squad composition, but when playing Solo some Legend abilities become useless.” Despite initially being strongly against the idea of introducing a solo mode to Apex Legends, developer Respawn Entertainment appears to have changed tune when it comes to the idea of Apex being more than just a team-based battle royale. Respawn is yet to give any indication as to whether the new solo mode will be coming to PC and consoles. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as any further details emerge.

  • Apex Legends turns into Dark Souls to show how strong the Rampage really is – Dexerto

Apex Legends turns into Dark Souls to show how strong the Rampage really is Respawn/From SoftwareIn order to show just how powerful the Rampage LMG really is in Apex Legends, one player turned a showdown with a Gibraltar wielding the weapon into a Dark Souls style boss fight. Apex is always in a state of flux, with weapons being constantly being buffed and nerfed as time goes on. Often, it’s only after players complain about a certain weapons for months before devs do anything. Which weapons are considered “balanced” usually differs from person to person. However, a lot of users seem to agree the Rampage LMG is a bit OP at this point in time, based on the response to a video that turns facing the weapon into a Dark Souls boss fight. Rampage LMG turns Apex into Dark Souls On April 10 a video showing how it feels to fight the Rampage quickly racked up over 1000 upvotes on the Apex subreddit. In it, King’s Canyon is turned into the world of Dark Souls, complete with loading screen and boss music as Revenant tries to take down a Rampage-wielding Gibby. Like most Soulsborne boss fights on the first try, Gibraltar absolutely melts Revenant, who might have better luck if he were also using a gun, instead of his Heirloom. From exploits, to just outright being more powerful than a lot of other weapons, it isn’t the first time players have complained about how OP the Rampage is in Apex. Respawn devs already deployed a rework for the Rampage in Season 12 earlier in 2022, so whether or not it will get another so soon remains to be seen. One thing’s for sure though, plenty of players think it’s still one of the most powerful in the game.

  • Apex Legends interaction with Wraith Portals and Wattson nodes is deadly – Dexerto

Apex Legends interaction with Wraith Portals and Wattson nodes is deadly Respawn EntertainmentAn gameplay interaction in Apex Legends between Wattson’s Perimeter Security nodes and Wraith’s Dimensional Rift can lead to unexpected results. A player tried to set up a clever trap to use a Wraith’s ultimate against her team was in for a shocking surprise after they noticed that the portal didn’t deliver their opponents to the expected location. We’ve seen multiple cases of crafty Apex players set up intricate builds with Wattson’s fences just so that a Wraith portal can drop them right into it – but there’s a crucial component to make those plays work. A previous bug fix in Apex started dropping people out of it a couple feet away from its exit to avoid the consequences of accidental clipping. “It put you away from the object you set on the portal so you wouldn’t clip into it and get stuck/die,” Reddit user ‘StruckPhoenix’ responded to user ‘BipolarPsykho’ who at first thought it was a glitch. “This is the way [Respawn] fixed portals killing people. Not a bug, completely intended.” In the clip, BipolarPsykho found an entrance to an enemy Wraith portal. Like a good Wattson player, they immediately set up their Perimeter Security to try and bait the foes into a losing fight on the other end. But the player made a slight error in calculation when they set up the node at the doorstep of the portal. Well, this must have made the game react by dropping the incoming players a bit behind the gateway to avoid landing on the node. Except, the Wattson also placed a node a little bit behind the portal as well, telling the game to drop off the players even further back – clearing the Perimeter Security’s electrified fence. It’s understandable why someone would initially think that’s a bug, especially if it caused what they thought should have happened to go awry. The strange Apex Legends interaction between the fences and the portal proved to be deadly and is a vital piece of game knowledge for players to take in case they come across it too.

  • Apex Legends insider hints Wattson heirloom finally on its way – Dexerto

Apex Legends insider hints Wattson heirloom finally on its way Respawn EntertainmentWattson could finally be in line to get her very own rare Heirloom set in the next few Apex Legends seasons, according to a cheeky tease from Brazilian battle royale content creator TheNeon_Beast. Brazilian Apex Legends content creator TheNeon_Beast has been a solid source for insider battle royale information in the last few months. Recently, he tipped Apex crossplay was coming as soon as September 15 in the “After Market” event, alongside popular dataminer Shrugtal. Now he’s dropped a cheeky hint at who could be getting the next Apex Legends heirloom. In his words, the rare Season 8 collection set is “gonna be shocking” — there’s only one Legend that seems to fit that bill: pylon-building Wattson. Another Apex dataminer, SomeoneWhoLeaks, responded that Neon “isn’t wrong,” though this wasn’t a clear confirmation. Fans did take it as such however and soon began sharing Wattson GIFs, videos, and responses on the September 7 tweet. Será q chegou a hora dos main Wattson serem exaltados?! pic.twitter.com/fVtuRbAIcJ — Wesley de Souza (@wsouza489) September 8, 2020 The tease doesn’t mention what kind of heirloom Wattson could be getting when it does arrive. There’s every chance it would be based around her electric tools, though it could be something simple like a book, or hilarious, like a baguette. If Wattson is indeed up next for an heirloom, she will join an exclusive club Wraith, Pathfinder, Bloodhound, Lifeline, Mirage, and Octane are already part of. Bangalore and Caustic are also expected to be bequeathed heirlooms this season. Murderous simulacrum Revenant is another that has been tipped to get an heirloom in the next few updates, though that seems a little less likely at this point. That being said, every Legend will “eventually” get their hands on an heirloom at some point, according to developer Jason McCord. Not all of them are being worked on at the moment though, so some Legends may be in for a bit of a wait. It’s also worth noting there’s nothing in the Apex Legends code that backs up this Neon leak just yet. Usually when the battle royale updates add all-new content, dataminers like Shrugtal and Biast12 will share all the juicy details soon after. Both have been relatively quiet on this front for the moment, however. Dexerto has also been able to confirm only Bangalore and Caustic seem to have any extensive heirloom details in the code. So, take these Wattson heirloom hints with a grain of salt. Until Respawn officially unveils the news, anything’s possible. Considering the Static Defender’s heirloom is being tipped to drop in Season 8 too, it could be a bit of wait for confirmation.

  • Apex Legends insider claims Legend-exclusive heirlooms are getting “scrapped” – Dexerto

Apex Legends insider claims Legend-exclusive heirlooms are getting “scrapped” Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legend insider has claimed that the battle royale will be getting rid of Legend-exclusive heirlooms going forward. Apex Legends’ heirlooms have been in the game for quite some time, with Wraith’s Kunai being the first addition in the early seasons of the battle royale. Since then 19 heirlooms have made their way to the game at the time of writing. However, developer Respawn Entertainment made a big departure from the original heirloom system with the release of the first cross-Legend heirloom: Cloud’s Buster Sword. It seems that Legend-exclusive heirlooms may be a thing of the past, however, as a reputable Apex Legends leaker has claimed they are getting “scrapped” for good moving forward. Apex Legends’ heirlooms may be changing forever after Season 20 This claim came from reputable Apex Legends leaker and insider KralRindo, who shared the information on X. According to their information, they claimed, “Legend specific heirlooms are scrapped, apparently shared heirlooms make more revenue.” The Apex leaker also pointed back to Lifeline’s appearance in the Season 20 launch trailer. Eagle-eyed fans may have noticed that the Support Legend was wielding some sort of large, glowing knife. According to KralRindo, this will be the second shared heirloom to come to Apex Legends and it will be customizable. Additionally, it seems players will be able to unlock this customizable, shared heirloom in a similar way to Cloud’s Buster Sword. This may not sit well with some fans, as many lambasted the FF7 Rebirth crossover event as predatory thanks to how EA and Respawn handled microtransactions for the event. The leaker claimed that, for players to unlock this alleged customizable heirloom, it may take a minimum of $700. Of course, this information has not been confirmed by any official source so Apex fans should take all of this with some healthy skepticism. However, if these details are indeed true, it could spell the end of Legend-specific heirlooms for good.

  • Apex Legends: Insane coincidence discovered involving Pathfinder and viral Black Hole image – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Insane coincidence discovered involving Pathfinder and viral Black Hole image Respawn / EHTA remarkable coincidence has been discovered that ties the Pathfinder of Apex Legends with the new image of a black hole that has gone viral. First ever image taken of black hole in space On April 10, the scientific community made a historical breakthrough after managing to take an image of an actual, existing black hole for the first time in history. The image showing a ring of bright orange light surrounding a circle of pure darkness immediately went viral, as many of the world’s biggest news networks were quick to cover the unprecedented achievement. While the process of procuring this image was very difficult and complex, it essentially came down to a scientists combining eight of the world’s most powerful telescopes and essentially creating one monstrous telescope described to be the size of Earth in terms of its strength. The resulting Event Horizon Telescope was able to see much farther than any of the eight individual telescopes, allowing the operators to take this image of a black hole that’s estimated to be 500 million trillion kilometers away. How does this tie in with Apex Legends? Anyone who’s played Apex Legends will recognize that the image of the black hole looks strikingly similar to the bright yellow-orange light the emanates from the single lens on Pathfinder’s head. While that’s not really much to make out of, Reddit user ‘helpmefindaname000’ did some further digging and discovered that one of the eight telescopes used to take the image was the Atacama Pathfinder Experiment, called APEX for short. In essence, a telescope that has both APEX and Pathfinder tied to its name was used to take the image of a black hole that looks eerily similar to the Pathfinder’s eye in Apex Legends. Obviously this could all just be some crazy coincidence, but not a lot of players are buying it. While no one believe’s there’s some secret conspiracy in play, many are of the mind that Respawn Entertainment used the APEX telescope for inspiration when coming up with the name for the Pathfinder. This does make sense, considering that fact that the one of the Pathfinder’s abilities is to find the location of the next safety circle on the map, using beacons that essentially serve as telescopes. We will probably never know whether or not the Pathfinder has anything to do with the APEX telescope, but the fact that this kind of coincidence has taken place is pretty mesmerizing in and of itself.

  • Apex Legends: Insane ability list leaked for unreleased character Rosie – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Insane ability list leaked for unreleased character Rosie Graphics: Respawn, THAT1MININGGUYApex Legends players are always excited to hear about the possible introduction of new characters, but leaked abilities for Rosie suggest she might well be the best looter to have ever jumped into Kings Canyon. The unreleased legend was part of a popular theory that spread like wildfire across the game’s online community, written by reputable leaker ‘That1MiningGuy’. This teased that the upcoming legend could appear in the near future – most likely after Crypto – and now we have some potential evidence from the game’s files that suggest it could have actually been accurate. A new leak from the same user points towards Rosie having some very interesting abilities when she eventually makes her debut, and even sheds some light on a very useful accessory that she could have in her arsenal. The most eye-catching from the screenshot shared to Twitter, as seen below, is the ability to teleport by throwing a disc. While Wraith can move in a similar way – i.e. from one area to another under cover using her portal ability – it would be a first for the battle royale game, and one that will no doubt interest fans. Other lines refer to an ability to open secret compartments in loot bins, see loot contents through walls, and use a device to steal all nearby loot. Alright alright, here’s a really meaty one. Last one for a while though, I have to do real work for a bit. Rosie (AKA Loba)’s skills. pic.twitter.com/c9iYdVzTUu — That1MiningGuy (@That1MiningGuy) August 13, 2019 This wasn’t the only piece of information shared by That1MiningGuy, though, as they followed that up with a second screenshot. This one shows something that may be useful for fans searching for leaks, indicating that Rosie will be referred to as “Loba” in the game files. There’s also a mention of “Translocating Thief” as well, which could be related to the teleport ability. There is no way of proving that the contents of this apparently leaked information is accurate or valid until we have confirmation from Respawn Entertainment themselves. Even if this sheds light on the development of Rosie, it’s still likely early days and things could be set to change, but that won’t stop fans from reading into it in the meantime.

  • Apex Legends players still awaiting input button fix after four years – Dexerto

Apex Legends players still awaiting input button fix after four years Electronic ArtsIt’s been over four years since Apex Legends debuted, yet console players are still waiting on improvements for input button prompts. Like most popular online games, Apex Legends boasts more than its fair share of issues. For example, following the Spellbound launch earlier this year, players reported encountering connection errors. Recent weeks have seen users report the occasional log-in issue and PC crash. Each of these hiccups can be addressed in minor patches, but there’s one long-standing problem that developer Respawn has yet to tackle – button inputs on console. After four years of one button prompting at least three different functions, Apex players can’t help but wonder what’s taking so long. Apex Legends players demand input button fix on consoles Apex Legends fan and Reddit user shocker_103 has noted that one major problem continues to upset the moment-to-moment action after four years. The issue revolves around the fact that the function of opening/closing doors, reviving teammates, and reloading all rest on the same button for console players – X or Square. “This problem [has been] on controllers since launch,” the Redditor wrote in a post accompanied by a short gameplay clip. The video shows a player repeatedly trying to revive a friend, though their proximity to a door results in the door constantly opening and closing instead. Funnily enough, the clip ends with a scene from Spider-Man 3 where Dark Peter yells at his landlord about fixing a broken door. Reddit users agree that a fix for the door input is definitely needed in Apex Legends. But some seem baffled by as to why simply holding the button wouldn’t help differentiate between the different functions. To this, the original poster replied, “You have to hold the button to revive your teammate but the game thinks you just tapped the button so it opens [the] door first.” Other users say they workaround this by holding the button “before any options pop up on the screen,” then approach their downed squadmate. “Yeah, you can revive a teammate who is blocking a door. Just gotta be smooth with it,” wrote someone else. Either way, reason suggests not having three separate functions bound to one button input would solve all of these problems. But perhaps controller support for Apex Legends is more difficult to manage than players realize.

  • Apex Legends Inner Beast Collection event: Octane heirloom, new LTM, skins, more – Dexerto

Apex Legends Inner Beast Collection event: Octane heirloom, new LTM, skins, more Respawn EntertainmentThe first collection event for Season 20 of Apex Legends is here: Inner Beast. The event includes a new Takeover mode, a recolor for Octane’s butterfly knife heirloom, and of course lots of new skins. The big focus for this event is the new mode, called The Hunt, where players will be tasked with hunting down a specific rival squad. As with all collection events in Apex Legends, there will also be a total of 24 event-limited cosmetics to unlock. Completing the collection, by unlocking all of them, will grant Octane’s heirloom recolor. Check out the full details for the Inner Beast Collection Event below, via Respawn. New Takeover mode: The Hunt In this mode, your squad will have the option to pick up datapads that assign and track a ‘prey’ squad for you to pursue. The enemy squad is selected at random, and once you’re in range (70m) they will be alerted to your presence. A successful hunt will grant a ‘bonus reward’ – or, if you fail, the hunted team will earn this reward instead. Collection skins There’s an obvious orange and purple theme for this set of skins, with recolored legendaries for Octane, Bloodhound, Gibraltar, Caustic, Rampart and Loba. All of these skins are recolors of course, and that theme continues with the heirloom you get for completing the collection (aka buying all of the items). Octane Heirloom Recolor Another classic legend getting an heirloom recolor, Octane’s time is now. His butterfly knife, typically green, gets an orange makeover, called ‘Octane’s Prototype.’ And as always, there is a reward track to grind through during the event, with a Vantage skin up for grabs at the end of the track. The Inner Beast Collection Event will go live in Apex Legends on Tuesday March 5, at 10 am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT.

  • Apex Legends infinite loading screen error: How to fix – Dexerto

Apex Legends infinite loading screen error: How to fix Respawn EntertainmentOne of the most frustrating bugs in Apex Legends Season 8 is back, as players find the game takes forever to load, or sometimes not load at all, with the dreaded infinite loading screen. Despite having over two years to sort out various connection issues, players are still often met with a variety of error codes, including code:leaf, code:net and code 100 in Apex Legends. There’s also the dreaded ‘invalid token’ error which still exists. In Season 8 though, there’s a new and possibly worse menu issue, which doesn’t even provide players with an error code to report. Instead, this bug simply throws you back to the main menu screen (where you hit ‘continue’) over and over, and will be stuck on loading, with no way around it. Although Respawn managed to address one of the issues causing this problem, and gave players 25 free battle pass levels as compensation, it’s still happening to a lot of players. Steam users are the worst affected, although EA has said that they have started to see improvements on this platform. How to fix Apex Legends infinite loading screen There is a workaround that some players have found successful: Disconnect from the internet when you are in the loading screen ends (around 4 seconds) – If successful, it will into the lobby screen. Then connect again to the Internet and spam to collect all rewards Do this fast it’s important! – If this didn’t work, try again it could take a couple of tries. If you try this on Steam and it doesn’t work, try this with the Origin client. – If this doesn’t work, the other option is to play on a second account. The bug appears to be account-specific, rather than system or game-specific. So, if you already have a second account try that, or simply make a new one in the meantime. The bug was raised as an issue on the EA Help forums, and on social media, with players saying that it seems to affect specific accounts. Playing on another account will often let them play the game as normal. Read More: Best Olympus landing spots in Season 8 – “I have the same problem with my main account,” one player explained. “I can play normally with my secondary account but my main has this problem so the problem is in my account (or game) not console.” The bug also doesn’t seem to be any better or worse on different platforms. Players on PC, Xbox and PlayStation are all getting the infinite loading issue. Respawn respond to login errors On March 2, Respawn, developers of Apex Legends, gave an update on the issues. In a new patch, they said “Fixed one cause of login issues. Affected players will receive an error message (“code:clog”), then logging in should work.” To make up for lost time at the start of Season 8, players affected by this error will receive 25 battle pass levels for free. Players affected by the code:clog issue will be granted 25 Battle Pass levels. We also expect that some players will continue to have login issues, so we’ve added extra error messages to help us diagnose those problems. We’ll keep working until they’re all solved! 🙏 — Respawn (@Respawn) March 2, 2021 But Respawn says they expect some players “will continue to have login issues,” and are still investigating more fixes. We will keep this article updated with new information and any updates from the developers at Respawn or EA when we have them.

  • Apex Legends: Incredible new Pathfinder skin coming in Iron Crown Event – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Incredible new Pathfinder skin coming in Iron Crown Event RespawnRespawn Entertainment has finally showcased its new dynamic Apex Legends skin for Pathfinder and it is jaw-droppingly awesome. Back on August 6, Respawn announced their brand-new limited-time event called The Iron Crown Collection Event which is set to finally give fans the chance to play solo matches. Alongside the long-awaited addition of solos, fans will also be able to get their hands on a round of new cosmetics – similar to the Legendary Hunt event in June – with some Legendary character skins. The developers have already showcased Wraith’s incredible new look, and have now given fans a glimpse at what they have in-store for Pathfinder. Called ‘War Machine’, the all-white legendary skin overhauls how one of the most popular Apex Legends characters looks with a brand-new head and even slimmer body – doing away with the huge robot that fans have come to know and love. The limited cosmetic also includes incredibly-detailed graphics across the body and legs of Pathfinder, as well as an updated grappling hook system on the character’s arm. Don’t worry, however, nothing has changed about its abilities. Be your own knight in vanadium manganese boron armor ⚔ Ready your weapons, battle approaches. The Iron Crown Collection Event begins 8/13. pic.twitter.com/1O5XG6d4zZ — Apex Legends (@PlayApex) August 10, 2019 Eagle-eyed members of the Apex Legends subreddit also noted that there was a dynamic aspect to the skin relating the screen in the middle of Pathfinder’s chest. Fans pointed out that a number of images popped up during the quick video, but the most notable ones were a strange-looking sun face, an angry red face with flames surrounding it, and an exclamation mark with a green stained-glass background. It wouldn’t be the first dynamic skin in Apex Legends. Back in Apex Legends Season 1: Wild Frontier, Respawn dropped an evolving Havoc energy rifle skin for players who reached level 100 on the battle pass. Of course, an ever-changing character skin is different and it remains to be seen how the changing element of the new Pathfinder look will work. Fans won’t have long to wait for an answer, however, as the Iron Crown Collection Event kicks off in-game on Tuesday, August 13 and runs right through until August 27.

  • Apex Legends: Incredible new Legendary Hunt skins revealed – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Incredible new Legendary Hunt skins revealed Respawn EntertainmentNew Legendary skins for Apex Legends have been revealed as part of the upcoming “Legendary Hunt” Limited Time Mode. Apex Legends developers Respawn Entertainment announced on May 30 that the game is getting its first ever Limited-Time Mode (LTM), titled “Legendary Hunt”, which is expected to kick off some time in the week beginning June 3, most likely on Tuesday, June 4. After an underwhelming start to Apex’s first Season, the Legendary Hunt LTM offers an injection of new content to keep players engaged until the revamped Season Two arrives, which is expected to be later in June. How to earn new Legendary Hunt loot By taking part in the Legendary Hunt LTM, players will have the chance to earn brand-new Legend and weapon skins. While not all of the new skins have been revealed, those that have been shown off already look like some of the most interesting cosmetics in the game – and Apex Community Manager “Jayfresh” confirmed that the “skin quality [is] improving” heading into Season Two. By completing a set of limited-time challenges, players will be able to earn the new “Master of the Hunt” Epic skin for Bloodhound, along with other as-yet unknown skins. Two themed Legendary skins have also been revealed, the “Legendary Honored Prey” skin for the R-301, and the “Night Terror” skin for Wraith, on which the eyes will apparently glow and “pulse actively”. All players with the Season One Wild Frontier Battle Pass will automatically receive the R-301 skin, while the Wraith skin will be unlocked by players who have ranked their Battle Pass to level 15 or above before the end of the LTM. Details of the Legendary Hunt challenges have yet to be fully revealed, but the LTM will include an “Elite Queue” which players can join by finishing in the top 5 of their matches, but in order to stay in the queue must continue to finish in the top 5. The LTM will also help to alleviate some of the frustrations players have had with the amount of time it takes to level up the Season One Battle Pass. During the Legendary Hunt LTM, finishing in the top 5 of a game will grant an entire Battle Pass level once per day. In addition, there will also be a double XP weekend from Friday, June 7 at 10 AM PST to Monday, June 10 at 10 AM PST. During this time, players will earn double XP on both their standard and Battle Pass progression.

  • Apex Legends player creates incredible in-game tournament system – Dexerto

Apex Legends player creates incredible in-game tournament system Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have been sorely wanting some sort of ranked play introduced to the game for a while, but a more structured approach to competitive play could lie in a tournament mode. Respawn Entertainment surprised battle royale and FPS fans when they launched their title on February 4. While the release window was nothing short of a tremendous success, players have been making clear what they game could use to keep matches interesting. In that vein, the Apex fanbase have been making everything from unique Legends to useful concepts which would improve the quality of life for the battle royale from actual matches to how players interact. Apex tournaments could give squads a healthier environment of top level play.600 In a Reddit post, user ‘HesSoPringles’ laid out an elaborate tournament ladder structure that would make games more rewarding to play while also finding a great way of spending all of the Legends Tokens people have racked up since launch. While this wouldn’t necessarily be a replacement for a Ranked mode, the user’s concept would let anyone compete in Apex Games that could dish out worthwhile rewards. There would be four tiered tournaments starting with the free “Outland” normal game in which the top 5 teams earn an “Apex Elite” ticket that gets them in the higher competition. From the Elite tier, tournaments are bought into with Legends tokens, though HesSoPringles admits the amount of LT needed might need some tweaking since it would cost a whopping 1.2 million LT to enter. Different tiered tournaments would let players compete and improve through the ranks. Why would Tournaments be a good idea in Apex Legends? Ideally, the higher tiered tournaments would have the better competition to play against. Also, a win or top five in those games would yield great rewards such as more LT to enter games and even exclusive skins. Moreover, HesSoPringles thinks tournament modes like these would introduce a “natural progression that fits Apex’s theme.” Similarly, paying up the entry fees for the bigger tournaments would hopefully give players a more “personal investment” that would make games more challenging to play. The higher echelon in Apex Legends could provide incredible entertainment with a spectator feature.600 The Respawn devs have already announced that they’re going to introduce a more competitive system for players to dive into. Even though the devs are working to implement better ways for players to compete, ideas like HesSoPringles could add a different dimension to Apex Legends.

Apex Legends player shares incredible concept for long-range Sharpshooter Legend Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has a list of succinct characters, each bringing their own unique spin on engagements to King’s Canyon, and one creative concept would introduce a whole new kind of Legend for the game. Respawn Entertainment launched their battle royale with eight characters while adding Octane during the launch of Season 1, with each character brimming with more personality than the last. Reddit user The-Goliath posted their idea for a new Legend named Alpine who specializes in disorienting enemies while picking them off from long-range. Though Alpine sounds menacing on the surface, credit to The-Goliath for creating a character who has just as many faults as she does strengths. “The idea was to make a sniper character that didn’t have any direct damage abilities, just abilities that would incentivise sniping without forcing players to do it,” The-Goliath said. Alpine’s kit consists of a passive called Accelerated Ascent that lets her climb quick and faster than other champs while also hanging off the wall similar to a mechanic in Titanfall 2. Though others were hesitant of her Drop Camo ability which provides cloaking and the ability to go prone. A perfect utility item for long ranged snipers, but the cloaking would dissipate after moving or shooting. Aural Dampener is Alpine’s Ultimate ability which creates an AoE effect that temporarily deafens anyone in its range. Many had an issue with Alpine’s ult since it has the potential to make engagements less fun by taking away one of the five basic senses, but that could be remedied by making the area of effect propagate from an apparatus like Lifeline’s D.O.C. drone. It seems like Respawn already has a few ideas they’re banking on for future Legend releases, but with a few tweaks a character like Alpine could definitely fit into the game.

  • Here’s why Apex Legends needs an in-game cheat report system – Dexerto

Here’s why Apex Legends needs an in-game cheat report system Apex Legends‘ player base has grown exponentially since its release and it seems as though the number of cheaters has too. The feeling within the Apex Legends community is that rule breakers are far too frequent, but reporting them isn’t simple enough. If Respawn were to introduce an in-game report system, players could quickly report opponents that are suspicious, and Respawn could act upon it. This would save a lot of time and would also incentivize players to report more, as the only way of doing this currently is by going through their website. Fortnite and CS:GO are examples of how you can report a player in-game when they’re cheating/hacking. These games have been out much longer than Apex Legends, but are evidence of how an implementation of a reporting system could help to clean up Apex Legends. As you currently need to go through Respawn’s website to report cheating players, it’s easy to see why hackers get away with it – reporting them is a time consuming process and one that other players simply forget by the time a match ends. Some Apex players on Reddit believe that they are currently running into hackers in every other game. An in-game reporting system would allow them to report those players and could even set their minds to rest if only a small percentage of reported players turn out to be cheaters. If players got some feedback on the percentage of reported players that ended up being convicted of cheating, it would be significantly easier to gauge how bad the problem really is. Of course, hackers aren’t the only issue. A reporting system would make it easier to catch players that are using racist language or breaking any number of rules. Ultimately, if Respawn don’t implement a quick and easy system for Apex players to report cheats, issues with cheaters are only going to increase. Should Respawn implement an in-game cheat report system? Do you know better methods on how to prevent hacking in Apex Legends? For everything Apex related, follow us @TitanfallBlog.

  • 8 ways that Apex Legends can be improved – Dexerto

8 ways that Apex Legends can be improved The positive reception for Apex Legends doesn’t appear to be fading. That doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement for the latest big game to enter the battle royale market… Everyone Loves Apex Legends Apex Legends was teased, announced and released all on the same day, on February 4. In 2019, this is an unorthodox way to release a game. After just eight hours after release, EA’s attempt at battle royale had seen one million unique users play the game. One week after the release and there was another impressive milestone to brag about. CEO of Respawn Entertainment, Vince Zampella, confirmed that the number of players to try the game had jumped to 25 million! What Could Make Apex Legends Better? Irrespective of a huge player count and mostly positive feedback, there are still some areas where the game could be improved. The game’s development company, Respawn Entertainment, are already discussing balancing. Read More: Apex Legends hits 25 million players! – Here we discuss various ways in which Apex Legends can be improved. There are a few factors to consider when doing this. 25 MILLION :eyes: #ApexLegends pic.twitter.com/lDv1bYuV48 — Apex Legends News (@TitanfallBlog) February 12, 2019 Firstly, the games differ between PC and console (PS4 and Xbox). Due to the differences in hardware, the versions perform differently. Moreover, using a mouse on one and a control on the other changes the games’ dynamics. Secondly, some of the ways the game could improve are simply inherent characteristics of the game. Lastly, suggested improvements are simply an opinion. There isn’t going to be unanimous approval of any suggested changes. Therefore, it is important to make the distinction between PC and console. Training Mode The learning curve for becoming familiar with all the legends is a steep one. Each of them have unique special abilities, so learning them and the appropriate time to use them is important. There are also various different types of gun that require practice to become effective with them. The current introduction mode does allow you to try all of them though. Another suggestion we’ve read is a deathmatch mode. This is something H1Z1 have implemented. This would allow you to practice the core element of the game, gun-battles, without having the pain of loading a new game every time your squad is eliminated. Inventory Management This is primarily a console issue, as looting and inventory management is considerably less cumbersome on PC. There aren’t many games who would say that PUBG does something better than anyone else, but inventory management might be one of them. Once mastered, the system in PUBG allows you to become very efficient in looting. By contrast, Apex Legends primarily uses the analog to manage everything. Some players might be fine with this but the option to navigate using the back buttons and d-pad is useful. It should be noted that having attachments automatically added to new guns is a great idea, as it you from picking up attachments of a lower level than you already have. Moreover, stowing attachments is also a useful feature! Balance Health and Ammo This is one that can be solved with relative ease. A lot of Apex Legends players are saying a lack of ammo is becoming a far too regular occurrence. Conversely, health, be it syringes or battery cells, are available in abundance. We’ve all had 20 battery cells available at one point! It is a small issue but one that can prove frustrating and costly. Improve Console Performance The PC versions runs and performs differently to console. This suggestion is based on PS4 and Xbox. On console, the game is supposed to run at 60 FPS. This is the same Blackout. However, the game doesn’t feel quite as smooth as Call of Duty’s ultra slick survival mode. Whether this is just a small difference in responsiveness or actual frame drops is hard to determine. Even so, a slight increase in optimization could improve the game a lot. Read More: Run Apex Legends above 144 FPS! – Let us View Our Overall Stats Battle royale games tend to have a lot of stat driven, KD checking participants. We all take pride in our stats! Currently, you can only check your stats per legend. To get your overall stats you need to add up kills and wins for each legend, which is an annoying process. Introduce a Recent Players List We’ve all been in a game with someone who is a dead weight. However, just occasionally you will find a player that you actually want to play with again! In this scenario a recent players list is needed. Otherwise, that one diamond of a player might never be seen again. Character Speed It is clear that the latest entries into battle royale, want to keep the action fast-paced. From an excitement perspective this makes sense. However, there is a balance between speed and realism. This is something Blackout has done very well. For example, sniping on Blackout feels relatively polished whereby you can lineup a shot even if the player is bobbing and weaving in the distance. Conversely, hitting long-distance shots in Apex Legends feels a little more luck based than skill. Too Many Bullets to Kill This improvement is a prime example of a suggestion that is just a characteristic of Apex Legends. The futuristic setting, combined with gun balancing, means that players will always have to hit a lot of bullets to take down an opponent. It is a Halo style game after all. Read More: What are the best guns in Apex Legends? – Even so, there are numerous occasions when players are shooting an enemy and their health seems to be too much. This could be in part due to the frequency of high-tiered armor. It may also be a tactic from Respawn to keep players alive. In a battle royale game too much health may be better than too little because of the frustration of needing to start a new game. What Do You Think Needs Improved? Let us know what you think of these improvements and suggest your own on our Apex Legends Twitter page.

  • Apex Legends could improve teamwork with squad weapons on the HUD – Dexerto

Apex Legends could improve teamwork with squad weapons on the HUD Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has a strong emphasis on teamwork, and a simple change to the game’s HUD would make coordinating weapons within a squad incredibly fast by adding a new element to its layout. Firefights in Apex Legends can blow up at breakneck speeds making it vital to know what weapons a squad is running with to ensure that a team is best prepared to push into the next circle. With that said, Apex Legends has an expansive amount of pings to relay info. But there’s been tons of instances in which a teammate might forget they have the option, making communication within a three-man squad eventually stagnate. It would be helpful to know what weapons your team has to support you with before jumping into the fray. In a Reddit post, user ‘AlexKingshill’ made a quick mockup of an optional HUD display that would tell the other players on a team which weapons they are carrying. Even though it would be a small improvement, it could go a long way to cut down what weaknesses a given team has. The worst time to find out that everyone on the team is running PeaceKeepers is when they’re getting pinned down by a sniper at long range. While Respawn has kept the HUD simple by avoiding too much clutter, this could seem like a worthwhile improvement that players could appreciate. The design would conveniently display a team’s weapons in the HUD. “Since you would know who still has some trash guns early game, you could make better informed pings,” Reddit user ‘rhynokim’ said. “It gets old asking what everyone has, who needs what, blah blah blah. And it would be especially helpful when playing with silent randoms.” Similar HUD improvements had been suggested in the past, and if AlexKingshill’s design incorporates something like color-coordinated labels for the guns’ ammo types it could really complete the concept. Even when firefights breakout, keeping tabs on what your teammates have could allow for better coordination. What is coming in Season 2 of Apex Legends? While AlexKingshill’s design can be a great addition to bundle into the next season, Respawn Entertainment already has a ton of content they plan on implementing when Season 2 launches on July 2. Even with a new legend in Wattson and new guns with the L-Star, rumors have been hinting at a huge change happening in Kings Canyon. That’s not even including the updated Battle Pass offerings that are going to come in the next season. In all the content that will be unfolding within the Apex Games, it would be great to see a simple option like AlexKingshill’s concept get into the game.

  • Apex Legends could improve the Gold Body Shield with this simple buff – Dexerto

Apex Legends could improve the Gold Body Shield with this simple buff Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have been wanting a better buff to the Legendary (Gold) Body Shield since the in-game iteration doesn’t offer much of a reward for finding it, but that could change with a sweet new enhancement for the item. Once you land on King’s Canyon, it’s typically a mad scramble to get to the best loot. As it stands, if a player sees an Epic (Purple) Body Shield at their feet, then a Gold one across a battlefield, there isn’t really any incentive to risk the trip for the upgrade. The difference between the two lies in the Gold armor’s Executioner passive, that fully replenishes a player’s shield if they execute a Finisher on an opponent. Though the moment for that to be useful in dire situations are few and far between. Make the Gold armor truly Legendary In a Reddit post, user ‘63425112942816’ had a terrific alternative for the Executioner passive that would finally give a team a reason to play around someone with a Gold Body Shield. Their idea would give the Gold plating a buff that lets players wearing the shield revive their downed teammates similarly to how the Gold Backpack “reduces health/shield” consume times by 50%. “[My concept] would encourage teamplay” the Redditor said. “Since, you know, you can revive much faster in tough situations.” Fitting pros and cons to the buff The concept would definitely give players a worthwhile reason to prioritize Gold armor, but the Redditor also gave an idea for how the new passive would change how other players approach a battle. “Right now,” the Redditor said. “Seeing the gold armor icon when fighting someone does nothing, since it’s essentially just Purple. With this buff, you’d want to take out that person sooner so they can’t revive their teammates quickly.” Similarly, they also took Lifeline’s passive into consideration. The concept would “behave the same as the Gold backpack” in that it would “reduce the normal revive time by 50%” excluding the effects of the Combat Medic passive. The Redditor really thought out this idea, and it would definitely be a step above the current form for the Gold Body Shield.

  • Apex Legends could improve Bloodhound’s scanner using the trusty pet raven – Dexerto

Apex Legends could improve Bloodhound’s scanner using the trusty pet raven Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends’ most mysterious character Bloodhound has a lot of tools to help them find their prey, but players have been wanting an upgrade to their tactical ability that’s been less than useful. Since Respawn Entertainment launched their battle royale on February 4, players have been finding ways to get the most out of the ability kits from all the Legends. However, players have been having a tough time making consistent use out of Bloodhound’s Eye of the Allfather. While the Technological Tracker uses their gear to keep up with their next victims, a new concept would improve the ability with the help of their loyal companion raven named Arthur. Arthur and Bloodhound could wreak havoc in the Apex Games Reddit user ‘_thunder_god_’ chimed in with their idea to at least give Bloodhound’s Tactical Ability a “ghost moving for a few seconds instead of the freezeframe of where they used to be.” But the Apex player went a bit further by suggesting Eye of the Allfather be scrapped in totality in lieu of Bloodhound’s faithful Raven companion. “I think they should enhance the scan with live tracking ghosts for a few seconds, or remove the short range scan– and replace it with [Bloodhound’s Raven, Arthur],” thunder_god said. “Ping and send the [Raven] out to land at a specific spot. Edge of a rooftop or Tree etc. [Raven] pings enemy locations if they are within a radius to its location.” The idea would make perfect use of the bond between the two characters by making Arthur an integral part of Bloodhound’s ability to track opponents while putting the avian companion more into the spotlight in the game. Bloodhound needs an update for Eye of the Allfather As it stands, players have been noting how frustrating it’s been to use Eye of the Allfather, as it can sometimes be near ineffective to downright broken. The new concept would definitely buff up the ability and add an active element to Bloodhound’s kit since thunder_god also said Arthur would be “a lookout of sorts. OP? No….Bloodhound only gets one [Raven]. If someone kills it, its gone.” While the added mechanic of Arthur being killed might not sit too well with some Bloodhound mains, having a lookout perched high above would definitely improve the Legend’s tracking ability from match to match. Apex Legends is still a young game and has lots of space to get better, and an upgrade like this to Bloodhound could be just the idea to reinvigorate the character.

  • Apex Legends pro ImperialHal explains why it’ll be impossible to ever balance Seer – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro ImperialHal explains why it’ll be impossible to ever balance Seer Twitter: TSM_ImperialHal / Respawn EntertainmentSeer has been a divisive topic since his launch in Apex Legends Season 10. Having disrupted the meta so much, pros like TSM’s Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen are concerned Respawn will never be able to balance Seer due to how strong his kit is. Seer’s release in Apex Legends has arguably disrupted the meta more than any other. The new intel Legend, who dropped in the Season 10 update, features an incredible amount of tracking ability with “wallhacks” thanks to his heartbeat sensor pinning down the location of any enemy within 75 meters. That’s excluding his tactical and ultimate, which can not only show enemy locations to teammates, but their health bars too. The amount of power jammed into Seer’s kit and his overwhelmingly strong launch has forced Respawn’s hand to nerf him. However, pros like ImperialHal are concerned that no matter what, he will never be pushed out of the meta due to his raw strength. “I feel like people are completely not understanding what needs to be nerfed on Seer. People are saying you only need to nerf the damage — I think I also said it, and I’m 100% wrong,” he said. “How do you nerf a character when the base concept of the character is so strong? You have to completely change the character for it to be nerfed correctly. “The whole problem with [Seer] is the heartbeat sensor. You have permanent wall hacks without having to use your own abilities. How do you fix that? You can’t fix that because it’s literally a passive of the character.” While community consensus is to remove some of the extra power on his tactical, like the damage and the flashbang, ImperialHal’s claim suggests Respawn needs to go further and completely rework the Legend. His TSM teammate, Eric ‘Snip3down’ Wrona, agreed. He believed the meta was going to shift back towards more defensive characters like Wattson and Caustic because of Seer’s addition. However, he also pushed Respawn further, by saying Seer is the reason Apex needs to have a Legend ban system in competitive play. “Seer might be the character that forces a ban system in Apex in comp. I feel like it’s absolutely necessary at this point,” he said. Seer’s nerf is yet to hit live servers, but it is on its way.

  • Apex Legends star iiTzTimmy goes to huge lengths on Twitch to prove he’s not cheating – Dexerto

Apex Legends star iiTzTimmy goes to huge lengths on Twitch to prove he’s not cheating Twitch: iiTzTimmy / RespawnTimmy “iiTzTimmy” An is one of the best Apex Legends players on Twitch, and he proved there’s nothing suspicious about his skills by having a camera record his hand movements while playing. iiTzTimmy has shown Apex Legends players time and time again that he’s an absolute beast on the battlefield, and it’s the main reason why he’s become one of the biggest Twitch streamers to play the game. Not only did he hold the world record for highest damage in a single game, which has been broken, but he also made it all the way from Bronze to Predator in a massive 54-hour stream – a feat that others have struggled to replicate. A small portion of people weren’t convinced his skills were legitimate. However, he put their doubts to rest once and for all by having a camera record his hand movements live on stream while he was mowing down foes. The stream was just another day in the office for Timmy. He made clutch plays in fights and farmed entire lobbies, which is no surprise given his skills. But the addition of the hand camera proved to be quite a spectacle. Fans watched in awe as he gracefully moved and flicked the mouse around. “He makes this game look like he’s fighting bots on recruit difficulty,” said one fan. “They say Timmy’s mouse moves the speed of sound,” said another. But perhaps more importantly, it convinced them that there’s nothing suss about Timmy’s Apex Legends skills; he is the real deal, and the fact his insane plays are syntonized with silky-smooth mouse movements proves it. Of course, most people already assumed he wasn’t cheating. But there’s no room left for doubt now that he’s added a hand-cam; it looks like his skills are the result of hard work and talent, and nobody can take that away from him. And while watching him do his thing can help players improve, to a degree, the main reason people tune in is to be entertained by how good he is.

Respawn Entertainment and EA are going big for the second year of the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS), which will award a total of $5 million across its different stages. While it might be a daunting road for teams that aren’t directly invited, any Apex Legends squad can enter the open qualifiers to make a splash. With a monster performance in the NA Preseason Qualifier, iiTzTimmy and 100 Thieves’ NiceWigg, along with Complexity teammate Apryze, were among the 20 teams to advance to the Pro League Split 1. iiTzTimmy, NiceWigg Apex stream team in ALGS PL There was plenty of talent in the ALGS preseason who stood in the way of ‘SHEEEEEEESH,’ the stream team that has iiTzTimmy, NiceWigg, and Apryze. With 4,050 preseason qualifier points to their name, the stream team squeaked into Split 1, where they’ll face competition like Complexity Gaming, Cloud9, 100 Theives, TSM, Team Liquid, and more. It was no easy task for the team to make it though. The preseason qualifiers were stacked with hopeful amateur teams looking to rock the Apex esports scene. SHEEEEEEESH were a consistently top 10 team in the qualifiers they participated in and looked like a deadly threat heading into the Pro League. “Qualified for PRO league, lot to think about the next coming days,” NiceWigg said. “Can’t wait for it I’m so excited.” We might play for fun but at the end of the day we love competing. Genuinely think we have a ton of potential as a team and can be a huge threat in the pro league which is why I’m so adamant on fixing the very small mistakes we make. NiceWigg previously competed for CLG in Apex Legends and iiTzTimmy played for Golden Guardians in the last ALGS season, while Apryze has been proving himself so far on the competitive stage. There’s still a long way to go before the ALGS Championship in July 2022 but the Apex Legends streamers will look to leave their early mark in the Pro League.

  • Apex Legends idea creates new abilities for Assault, Defence & Support classes – Dexerto

Apex Legends idea creates new abilities for Assault, Defence & Support classes Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has designed a set of new abilities for the Assault, Defensive & Support classes to match Recon’s next ring location Passive. Each of the playable characters in Apex Legends are divided into four separate classes with Assault, Defensive, Support, and Recon all being categories. While these were originally designed to indicate what role each of the Legends fall into, that changed when Respawn gave all Recon characters a Passive ability that allows them to identify the next ring location. Unfortunately, none of the other classes received a Passive and for multiple seasons, the community has called on the devs to rectify this. Well, instead of waiting for Respawn to solve the issue, one player has developed their own new abilities for the Assault, Defensive, and Support classes. Apex Legends players want all classes to have unique abilities When it comes to designing a class ability, it’s key the Passive isn’t too powerful or it may indirectly buff an already popular character. Luckily, Reddit user stlach has created a set of abilities that fit the theme of the classes perfectly and put them on a level playing field with the Recon Legends. For starters, stlach has given Assault Legends a crafting material bonus for every kill, encouraging them to be more aggressive in gunfights. When comes to the Supports, they’ve given them an extra compartment on blue supply bins that only they can open, as well as a Mobile Respawn Beacon in their starter kit. Finally, stlach has suggested that Defensive Legends shouldn’t be slowed down by bullets, allowing them to move at full speed while taking damage. Although not everyone in the community agrees with all of stlach’s ideas, the concept has been received positively and countless players have praised the post for suggesting some interesting abilities. “I approve of this… It’d make games more interesting bc people would want one of each on their squad”. While it’s unlikely Respawn will copy this concept completely, it’s possible it encourages them to take a look at the Defensive, Assault, and Support classes in the near future, and maybe give them a new Passive.

  • Apex Legends quest achievement reveals Skull Town return – Dexerto

Apex Legends quest achievement reveals Skull Town return Respawn EntertainmentIt looks like Skull Town is making a return to Apex Legends in Season 5, as players discovered something very interesting related to the hunt achievements. As members of the community will know by now, a number of new PVE hunts have been added since the beginning of the current season, with pesky prowlers hunting in packs for the latest challenge – Broken Ghost: High Octane. In the achievements section, however, there’s a reference made to Skull Town that may suggest its removal from the game could be short-lived. As a matter of fact, there’s a strong possibility that we’ll be heading back to the point of interest very soon, but as part of the new quests list. Seen below, in a post from user Not-A-Noob-Gamer, there’s a legendary achievement called “Return to Skull Town”. Now, if that’s not an indication, we don’t know what is. There is no confirmed timeframe for as to when this achievement will be available to unlock in-game, but with Season 5 still relatively new and a whole load more of these hunts to come, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a new mission appear later in the season. Skull Town was removed from Kings Canyon with the title’s latest major patch, to kick off the season, with Respawn claiming that many more “meaningful” changes like this should be expected in the future. The idea of destinations coming back in quests will be encouraging for players, though, because you never know… Your favorite landing spot might be the next to get the chop. At least there’s the possibility of a return, should it happen.

  • Intense Apex Legends mode would give winners something extra to play for – Dexerto

Intense Apex Legends mode would give winners something extra to play for EAWith the absence of a ranked mode in Apex Legends, fans have been thinking of ways for the top players to compete and this might be the best idea yet. Apex Legends launched back in February and has seen rapid growth since. But that excitement has tapered off a bit and players are now looking for more ways to breath excitement back into the game. One of these ways would be the addition of a ranked mode so the game’s best of the best have a chance to show how they compete against one another. Hunger Games mode would put winners against each other As we wait for a proper ranked mode, this fan came up with the idea of adding a Hunger Games-like mode, based on the movie and book series of the same name, and it sounds like it would work very well in the game. The concept is simple, if a team wins a match, they are rewarded with a special ticket which would allow them to enter another match against other winners. The game mode would let all previous winners go up against each other where they’ll be able to see where they stack up with some of the best teams in Apex Legends. The idea was first floated by Reddit user Dacadey and the concept would also give winners of the champion round unique titles, badges or cosmetics, making it worth your time to use up your tickets. Here’s the roadmap for what’s coming to Apex Legends in 2019. pic.twitter.com/iOle3XTQoG — Apex Legends News (@TitanfallBlog) February 4, 2019 Will Apex ever have a ranked mode? We’re still pretty early in Apex Legends’ life and it’s unclear if a ranked mode is in the works at all. EA and Respawn have a roadmap laying out content for much of 2019 and Season 1 is currently in full swing. It’s possible we could see a ranked mode come into the game someday but it’s not really something you should bet on as of right now.

  • Apex Legends HUD can be drastically improved with simple damage tracker – Dexerto

Apex Legends HUD can be drastically improved with simple damage tracker Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have been pouring hours into the title in order to collect the various badges in the battle royale, and a simple change to the game’s HUD would make the hunt much easier to track. Respawn Entertainment launched their entry in the battle royale genre on February 4 shortly followed by the release of Season 1 for the game which brought a myriad of badges for players to grind for. While a vast number of players have been landing in King’s Canyon hoping to claim the increasingly difficult badges, there could be a way to improve how players earn the coveted in-game rewards. 600In a Reddit post, user ‘Dr_Octet’ found a brilliant yet simple way of changing up the HUD in Apex Legends to show how much damage the player has dealt in the match they’re in. The concept would show a small target with a live counter right next to it that would increase to reflect the total amount of damage that’s been racked up so far in the match. The idea would be a simple change to implement seeing as the damage counter would merely be swapped with the indicator that tells someone how many players are watching them. 600Some expressed their concerns with the idea, citing that a feature similar to the concept exists by setting damage as a tracker, then going to the squad screen to get live updates. While it’s not a bad way to go about it, Dr_Octet had a few gripes with that route. “Yeah, but there are 4 constraints [to that method of checking damage],” Dr_Octet said. “First, these trackers are not free. Second it requires having in mind the number of damage caused previously and make calculations. Third, it would have to sacrifice a slot tracker for the damage, maybe that I prefer to view others trackers in my banner. Fourth, it takes two clicks to access the squad banners + the time of loading. This is not ergonomic” Badges in Apex Legends Even though there are numerous badges that are simple to add to a collection, others are much more demanding and require tons of tries as well as hours to complete. 600It’s almost certain that there will be more accolades to earn with Season 2 for Apex legends, but as it stands every Legend has a Wrath badge with levels one through four, and scales the damage output that a player needs to deal with a specific character to complete. Read more: How to stop Apex Legends stuttering issues – Wrath level one asks players to “deal 2000 damage in a single game” and it only gets higher from there with level four demanding a whopping 4000 damage in a single match. The badges might take some players a while to finally obtain, but Dr_Octet’s idea would definitely make the pursuit a lot more user-friendly.

  • Apex Legends HUD change would let you see your skin while playing – Dexerto

Apex Legends HUD change would let you see your skin while playing Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer cgdaanpd]A portion of the Apex Legends community is requesting a slight update to the game’s HUD that would let them get more out of their cosmetic items’ and outfits’ intricate designs. With over a year into its life-cycle, Respawn Entertainment packed their battle royale with dozens of cosmetics for every Legend. A typical annoyance, however, is the inability to actually see which skins you have on during a match. A drawback of the FPS genre lies in the inability to see your character’s overall model design. This obviously doesn’t hinder gameplay but can be a nuisance, especially for those who spend a lot of money on cosmetic items. But Apex players have grown quite fond of their collection of skins which is driving up a demand to have a better way of interacting with them, especially when playing. “Our icons should change based on the skins we have equipped,” user ensteinalbert7 said. “Just a fun detail I think should be added since we can’t really see our skins haha.” The icons they’re referring to are the ones located at the bottom-left of the screen where you can see the health and equipment of the team. Instead of having them be the default character model, some players think it would be a nice touch to mix up the graphics with the proper skin they currently have on. Going back to the natural limitations of an FPS, this would be as far as someone would get to actually enjoying their own cosmetic outfit skins. However, while this idea generally got the approval of Apex players, a lot of them also agreed that something like this could have negative implications for new players. “I think they don’t do it to avoid confusion while quickly looking at it,” one user said. Another added that “this would be very confusing for new players, [so] maybe a setting that you can toggle default off.” While there are those that would prefer that Respawn work on parts of Apex Legends that would actually improve the game, this is a fun idea that the devs could dabble with on the side.

  • Apex Legends: How to unlock “free” Lifeline Heirloom in Fight or Fright – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to unlock “free” Lifeline Heirloom in Fight or Fright Respawn EntertainmentLifeline’s Heirloom set has finally been released in Apex Legends, and players will have the opportunity to unlock it during the currently ongoing Fight or Fright event. Fight or Fright launched on October 15, adding a lot of Halloween-themed content in Apex Legends, including the new Heirloom for Lifeline. The item is called ‘Shock Sticks,’ a pair of staffs that the support-class Legend can use as a melee weapon. The Heirloom is currently available for everyone to unlock, but in order to do so, players must first obtain all 24 cosmetic items that were released as part of the event, 12 of which are Epic and 12 Legendary. Read More: All Fight or Fright cosmetics and skins – In their official announcement for the event, Respawn Entertainment and EA explained that the extremely rare melee skin would technically be “free,” since it would be unlocked without having to spend any money on it directly. “If you unlock all 24 Fight or Fright Collection Pack Items during the event, you’ll unlock the Lifeline Heirloom set for free,” they wrote. There are three main ways you can acquire Lifeline’s Heirloom: 1. Direct Purchase This is the fastest method, but it’s also the most expensive, as you would have to purchase the 24 event items individually. With the 12 Legendary cosmetics costing 1,800 Apex Coins each, and the 12 Epics 1,000 Coins each, this option would end up costing 33,600 Coins, which is around $300. 2. Crafting This option is also pretty costly, as the Legendary items require 2,400 Crafting Metals while the Epics cost 800. Together, that comes out to 38,400 Crafting Metals combined for all 24 cosmetics. This method is probably the least worth doing except if you already have a good amount of Crafting Metals laying around that you don’t mind putting towards this. 3. Apex Packs This is the cheapest method for unlocking the Heirloom. Each Apex Pack costs 700 Coins, and you would only need to open 24 since each of these packs are guaranteed to contain both one event cosmetic and no duplicates. This option would set you back 16,800 Coins, coming out to about $160, which is still some serious cash to dish out for a single item. Read More: First look at Kings Canyon night gameplay – Keep in mind that while it may be tempting to go for the Heirloom right away, there will be a Double XP weekend starting on October 25-28, which will award bonus XP for both finishing winning matches and finishing in the top five. This would help out in terms of ranking up the Battle Pass, and in turn earning more Coins and Crafting Materials that can go towards unlocking all 24 items. Despite this Heirloom’s hefty price tag, which at its lowest is $160, it is still the cheapest and easiest to get compared to Bloodhound’s and Wraith’s sets. The one for Bloodhound, which was available during the Iron Crown event, cost about $180 to unlock, while Wraith’s set cost an astronomical amount, usually around $500, since it was only released in regular packs and not part of an event. However, that is what Lifeline’s Heirloom will also start costing once the Fight or Fright event ends on November 5, since the only way to unlock it then would be to try and get it from regular packs.

  • Apex Legends: How to win with Crypto – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to win with Crypto RespawnApex Legends Season Three is well underway but is there really an ideal way to use Crypto if you want to become an Apex Champion? Well, yes, and we’ve got the answers you need! After weeks of waiting, and months of leaks, Crypto was finally released into Apex Legends with the start of Season Three: Meltdown as the game shifted from Kings Canyon to World’s Edge. The hacking legend has already become a regular shift in matches, as players use his Drone and that dreaded EMP to cause havoc around the map and scoop up wins – but, how is he best used? Well, we’ve got some helpful hints and tricks that will lead you to the promised land of Apex Champions in no time. Don’t hold back with Crypto When it comes to battle royales, you can basically play in one of two ways – aggressive or passive. You can hot drop, claim some loot, and score some early kills or take your time, let everyone else do the hard work, and try to scoop up the remains. While Crypto may seem like a great passive character, he is best used in an aggressive manner. Throw up that drone, scout out enemies, and find ways to infiltrate their defenses. Use the EMP to stop them running away. Yes, he may not be as good a flanker as Wraith, but that doesn’t mean you can’t sneak in behind too when the chance presents itself. Keep the communication levels high Communication is key with Crypto and, again, it stems back to that Drone of his. Once it’s in the sky, make sure to communicate as best as you can with your teammates. Ideally, this comes in the form of having a mic in-game, but that can be a bit of a rarity these days. Whether you leave the drone up in a stationary form like it’s a UAV, or if you pilot it continually, just make sure you and your partners are communicating in some fashion. Time abilities with teammates It should go without saying, but make sure to combine Crypto’s abilities with the rest of your team’s in order to grab maximum effect. A well-timed EMP can set up location-based ultimates like Caustic’s Gas or Bangalore’s Rolling Thunder to have a major impact, so again, keep the communications going and pick your spots. Just diving into an ultimate will usually backfire and gave the enemy the upper hand. As Season Three unfolds further, and Respawn drops some changes, there will no doubt be other factors to consider when using Crypto to try and score wins. For now, though, the tips listed here are the best ways to put him to work, so follow along if you want to become an Apex Champion.

  • Apex Legends: How to use Pathfinder’s Zipline Gun for quick rotations – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to use Pathfinder’s Zipline Gun for quick rotations Apex Legends has quickly become one of the most popular games in the world, and players are always searching for new ways to use the game’s characters to their advantage, including this amazing way to use Pathfinder’s Zipline Gun ability. Apex Legends is a battle royale game where teams of three skydive into the game’s Kings Canyon map, with the last squad standing declared the winner and Apex Champion. Making sure you can stay alive can be difficult though, with other teams attempting to take you out as they search for a victory of their own. Finding clever ways to use your Legend’s abilities can be imperative, and Reddit user PathFinDick has done just that with their use of the Zipline Gun. Who is Pathfinder and what is his Zipline Gun ability? In Apex Legends, Pathfinder is a robot who is specifically designed to scout and survey the landscape around him. The droid doesn’t know who created him, but he hopes his incredible performances in the Apex Games will alert his designer. When attempting to scout areas like Kings Canyon, Pathfinder can use a Zipline Gun to create a massive Zipline that both he and his teammates can use to rotate around the map, or move to a difficult-to-reach spot. How did the player use the Zipline Gun? Dotted across the map are a number of Balloons, with a yellow rope tying them to the ground. These static items can be used by players as rotation tools, as anyone can jump on the device at the bottom, ride up the rope and then soar out into the air, allowing for quick movement around the map. However, making it to the bottom of one of these contraptions can be tricky, as sometimes they are found in an open area where players could get picked off by waiting enemies. Read More: Full list of Apex Legends world records – Reddit user PathFinDick has found a way to avoid running across open planes to the rotation devices though, by utilizing Pathfinder’s Zipline Gun to take players directly to the top of the device. Using this technique allows players to make it to the top of the Balloon much quicker than usual, and also gives players the opportunity to use the device from anywhere in the vicinity of the Balloon without the need to jump on at the bottom. This tip could be the perfect way to escape a tricky scenario, as all of your teammates can make use of the Zipline. There is a catch though, as enemy players can jump on and follow you, so if you find yourself surrounded by opponents when you do this, prepare for a gunfight to follow once you land.

  • Apex Legends: How to stop crashes on PC, PS4 and Xbox One – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to stop crashes on PC, PS4 and Xbox One If, like many Apex Legends players, you are loving the game but hating the crashes, then these troubleshooting tips are especially for you – and should (hopefully) prevent your game from closing down at the worst possible moments. Respawn Entertainment have been pretty upfront about the technical issues which have plagued the game since its launch on February 4, although it must be said the servers and gameplay itself have been relatively issue-free. The same cannot be said for crashes however, which have been a constant problem for many players on both PC and console, even after two updates to try to fix the issues. In a post on February 20, Respawn detailed an exhaustive list of all the steps you can take to try to avoid crashing as much as possible. Stop Apex Legends crashing on PC There are a lot of potential places for your PC experience to go wrong, and as such there are A LOT of troubleshooting methods. Firstly, ensure that both your operating system and graphics drivers are up to date – this is crucial. Also, ensure that you meet the minimum PC requirements to run the game. PC Troubleshooting for Apex Legends Crashes Try lowering the graphical settings within your in-game settings menu – Right-click on desktop shortcut icon and run “troubleshoot compatibility” before launching. – Repair the game in Origin. Within the Origin client right-click on Apex Legends and select “repair.” – Switch from Full Screen to Windowed mode or Borderless from in the in-game settings – Close programs and overlays running in the background like Discord overlay, TeamSpeak, Origin in-game and FPS counter, Asus GPU Tweak II, MSI afterburner, EVGA Precision, Shadowplay, Aura for ASUS, RivaTuner OSD, RivaTuner statistics, GeForce Experience, Radeon ReLive, Voicemeeter, FRAPS, OBS studio. – There might be some type of program running in the background or installed on your PC that is causing a conflict with Origin. By performing a clean boot, you close down all unnecessary programs needed to boot up your PC. Once you boot it up launch the game immediately. – Roll back your GPU drivers. We know updating them to the latest version is ideal, but we’re seeing drivers 417.71 & 417.35 stop crashing for players. Use the Advanced and then ‘Clean Installation’ options. – Limit FPS via the games’ command line: Gear/settings icon, Game Properties, Advanced Launch Options, add +fps_max 90 (or monitor max), Save. – Turn off G-Sync (NVIDIA) or Freesync (AMD) – Adjust Ambient Occlusion in NVIDIA control panel (Manage 3D Settings) – Adjust or disable all forms of Vsync for your monitor – Downclock GPU to default settings – Try uninstalling GeForce Experience (NVIDIA) – Increase your GPU and Windows power setting to Max. Open up “NVIDIA Control Panel” -> from the NVIDIA Control Panel, select the “Manage3D settings” from the left column -> click on the Power management mode drop down box and select “Prefer Maximum Performance”. – Try reducing Texture Streaming from the in-game settings – Reducing VRAM usage from 8GB to 6GB (streaming texture option) – Reinstall the game to the internal hard drive (C:) and unplug external hard drives that aren’t being used – Add Windows Defender Firewall exceptions: (Control PanelSystem and SecurityWindows Defender FirewallAllowed Apps). Make sure to add and check both boxes for Origin’s Launcher program. How programs and anti-virus programs can conflict with Origin. – Right-click the speaker Icon in your system tray (bottom left of Windows) then choose Sound > Playback and disable any output device not in use (don’t forget to right click show all disconnected / deactivated devices). – If you are encountering the “illegal instruction” error message, please report the issue to Easy Anti-cheat using the form here: https://www.easy.ac/en-us/support/apexlegends/contact/tech/ – Toggling your language may help. Right-click the game panel in Origin, choose Game Properties, then Advanced Launch Options. Change the game language (“Polish” helps some folks), save the game and update. Once this completes try swapping back to your language and check again? – Allow Windows to manage your PageFile size – Ensure that Origin, the game and your PageFile are all on C: – Disable fullscreen optimisations – Allow the EasyAntiCheat Service to restart if it fails – Go to origin->game library->right click on apex ->Game properties->advanced->and put in Command line arguments: +fps_max 100 You can try setting it lower too (90, 80, etc.) – – Download latest Nvidia drivers While crashes are relatively infrequent, one particular source of them may have been fixed. Nvidia have released to the GeForce Game Ready WHQL driver, (version 419.35). Specifically this addresses the “DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG” crash. “Our newest Game Ready Driver introduces optimizations and updates for Apex Legends, Devil May Cry 5, and Tom Clancy’s The Division II, giving you the best possible experience from the second you start playing.“ The latest Nvidia drivers can be downloaded through the GeForce experience app. This software will automatically detect your hardware and if there any driver updates. From there it’s as simple as clicking a few buttons to initiate the installation. Alternatively, you can download them from the Nvidia website directly. Once you know your graphics card model (you can check this in the DirectX diagnostic tool or device manager) you can start the process. Here’s the step by step instructions: Go to Nvidia website and navigate to the drivers tab – Select your model of graphics card using the drop-down boxes and download the latest drivers – Run the installer (the downloaded file). The installation process will automatically install the latest drivers while overwriting the old ones – In the event of issues, use system restore to go back to the point previous to installation –

  • Apex Legends players have figured out how to stay in Loba’s secret lair – Dexerto

Apex Legends players have figured out how to stay in Loba’s secret lair Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have found a clever way to break into Loba’s in-game teaser – surviving in the secret, underground lair far longer than Respawn probably originally intended. Season 5’s upcoming Legend has been making her presence known throughout Respawn’s popular battle royale title. From animated previews to in-game easter eggs, the character is coming into the spotlight well ahead of her full release. The latest teaser is teleporting players into a secret lair after finding Loba’s bracelet. This new area can be seen for roughly 10 seconds before the game sends you back to the battlefield. However, a glitch can keep you there for good. https://twitter.com/PlayApex/status/1255905781649534976 How to glitch into the lair as Wraith Upon shifting to the underground location, Reddit user roelers opened a portal with Wraith’s Ultimate. They ran as far as they could and dropped the second portal in the darkened facility. In the blink of an eye, both teammates had died somewhere in between dimensions while Wraith found herself stuck in Loba’s lair for good. The game didn’t forcibly teleport them back, nor did it insta-kill them for remaining inside the easter egg. It allowed them to stay put and continue running down the seemingly endless hallway under the map. What else can you find in Loba’s lair? “I was able to travel back to the easter egg area with a portal,” they explained. “But when my friends tried the portal they got crushed and died.” While there wasn’t a great deal left to explore, they did manage to hit both ends of the lair before the ring closed in and wiped them out. If you’re looking for an extra clue in this new easter egg, you might be disappointed. Other than the backdrop of Stalker robots, nothing of interest sticks out in the underground facility. If you’re extremely lucky and have the final ring close around the bracelet, this could be one way to secure an unfair win while avoiding enemies up high. Clearly an unintended interaction between the new teaser and Wraith’s portal, there’s no telling if Respawn Entertainment might issue a fix before the major Season 5 update. Apex Legends’ next season is set to kick off on Tuesday, May 12. Here’s an in-depth breakdown of everything we know so far.

  • Apex Legends: How to rank up fast before end of Season 2 Ranked Mode – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to rank up fast before end of Season 2 Ranked Mode Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has entered it’s first ranked series, and with it send to end at the start of Season 3, a Reddit user has created a definitive guide to boosting your numbers and getting you as high up the ladder as possible. The popular battle royale title’s ranked playlist rewards players for eliminations, match placement, and overall victories, but it’s not just bragging rights on offer for those who reach the top ranks. Depending on your overall rank at the end of the season, Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that there will be cosmetic rewards offered based on how well you played across the series, and with Series Two slated to start in early October, Reddit user /u/TheGodDeimosTTV has come up with some useful tips that could be the difference between being a Bronze player or a Diamond-level master. Picking the right character Your road to Apex Predator starts before you even set foot on the ground, with which Legend you choose to head into combat an integral part of your gameplay. At the Preseason Invitational, Wattson, Wraith, and Pathfinder were the go-to setup for trios searching for success, but /u/TheGodTiemosTTV suggests that Bangalore and Lifeline can also be used in your compositions if Wattson doesn’t fit your preferred playstyle. Landing Spots Choosing the perfect spot for landing is an important decision, as you won’t get any Ranked Points if you drop into a hotspot and get killed seconds after your feet touch the ground. The Reddit user suggests that if you see 10 people drop immediately, you should follow them, and attempt to land in the clearest area possible, or if you can land on before them, try and grab the items first – thus denying your opponents. High-tier loot areas like Airbase and Repulsor are also important, as getting the best loot you can early on can set you up for success. Looting TheGodTiemosTTV admits that the R-99 submachine gun, the Alternator, and the Longbow sniper are the best weapons in the current Apex Legends meta, but relying solely on finding and using these guns is a recipe for disaster. Learning how to use as many weapons as possible to a decent standard should mean that you never find yourself completely hapless in a gunfight, while the Redditor suggests that picking up as many Shield Batteries as possible is more key than healing items, and grenades are important ways to deal damage, so don’t walk past them if you see them. Rotating Where you land is important, but as the match goes on, you’ll need to move around King’s Canyon, and having a Pathfinder on your team is imperative to finding success. His passive ability shows where the next circle will go and give you an advantage, as you will be able to rotate in good time, loot on your way, and have a jump start over those who don’t know where they are heading. Engaging opponents While some players would hold off on challenging opponents if they weren’t completely geared up, TheGodDiemosTTV says rushing them “with confidence” is key, as if you don’t you will waste time and resources getting into a “cover-poking standoff.” If a fight is taking too long, drop back to a better defensive position before re-engaging, while chasing after enemies when you’ve killed one or two of them is a big mistake, as you’re giving up your superior position for the sake of a kill, and things could always go terribly wrong. End-game positioning According to TheGodDiemosTTV, your positioning is the key to winning matches in the final circle, suggesting that players should try and find the high ground from which to shoot down at their opponents while making it tough for them to hit you. This is where sniper rifles will come in handy, as they will let you pick off enemies from distance while designating one member of your team to watch flank can ensure nobody sneaks up behind you to wipe you out with ease. While these tips may seem straightforward, putting them all into practice could see you shoot up the ranked ladder and find yourself near the top of the class, but with just a few weeks before the start of Season 3, which is anticipated to bring a new Ranked Series with it in early October, you don’t have much time to put them to good use.

  • Apex Legends: How to play each legend – Ultimate, Tactical, Passive ability tips and tricks – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to play each legend – Ultimate, Tactical, Passive ability tips and tricks Apex Legends’ unique take on the battle royale genre is highlighted by the incorporation of heroes, or “legends”, into the standard game type – and learning how to use them is crucial to success. Most players will pick one legend and stick with them for most games – and might believe themselves an expert with their legend of choice. However, sometimes a teammate will take your preferred pick, or you might just get tired of the same old, and want to try something else. Here are some tips, tricks and little known hints about the eight base legends in Apex Legends. Bangalore Although Bangalore is not considered a medic, using her smoke launcher to cover enemies who are healing, or to revive them in the smoke, is major advantage. Smokes are also useful for getting out a sticky situation – fire them in the direction you are running and they will provide great cover as you move, and Double Time will make it even harder to hit you. Also, when playing Bangalore, you should always use digital threat scopes when you find them – they are useful for shooting through your own smoke (but be aware enemies can have digital threat scopes too). Bangalore’s Ultimate is powerful – but be aware it will also stun and slow you and your teammates, as well as the enemies. Bloodhound Bloodhound is all about tracking and information on the enemy – and information wins wars. Use the ‘Eye of the Allfather’ ability to see enemies nearby through walls, but be aware that it shows where enemies were at the time you used the ability – not where they are right now. Beast of the Hunt, the ultimate ability, is great for hunting enemies, but you might not be aware how useful it is for evading them too. You can still be seen, but you move much, much faster, making you a harder target. Caustic Caustic is a somewhat underrated legend, perhaps because it takes some practice to get the most out of his abilities. His gas traps are useful for blocking doors, trapping enemies and eliminating them cruelly with gas. Caustic’s ultimate is best used in tandem with the traps, and is particularly effective in the late game, when there are only one or two other squads left. Surround opponents with gas traps, and then throw the ultimate right in the middle – enemies will have no escape. Be warned however, you may be invulnerable to gas, but your teammates are not. They won’t take damage, but they will move slower and their sight will be seriously impaired. Gibraltar Gibraltar is the closest you will get to a ‘tank’ like character, but he’s low down on most players list for top picks – perhaps because of his exaggerated size compared to other legends, making him an easier target. To help with this, he has a face shield, which will absorb 50 damage points – but does not cover his head or legs. Much more effective is his dome of protection, which is completely impenetrable to all damage. But, be aware that enemies can enter it too and enjoy its benefits. Gibraltar’s biggest positive is definitely his ultimate, an airstrike which covers a large area and deals a lot of damage – use the dome of protection at the same time, and you can throw the ultimate right at your own feet. Lifeline Lifeline doesn’t boast the same offensive or defensive prowess as other legends, but your teammates will always be thankful to have you on their side. The fast revive ability can be a game changer, and you get the added benefit of the shield when you revive too – although it is very visible to enemies. Remember to always take plenty Ultimate Accelerants when playing Lifeline, so you can call in care packages frequently, but also remember that enemies will be alerted to your position by the Lifeline package dropping in. Mirage Mirage’s ultimate has been a point of contention for some players, who argue that it is too weak in comparison to other ultimates. It is best used to escape when you are in a tough spot – but be aware you are not entirely invisible, a small silhouette can still be seen by opponents. His Tactical ability, the single decoy, is actually more useful, as it’s pretty convincing fake, and is great for baiting out enemy shots. It’s best used in confined areas though, rather than out in the open. Pathfinder Pathfinder’s grapple is obviously best suited to latching on to (and swinging from) buildings and cliff edges – but it can also be used to grapple opponents. The zipline ultimate is very useful in late game situations, if you are caught outside the circle. Target the zipline to a bit of high ground, and tell your teammates to hop on. You will suddenly have the upper hand in last circle positioning. For the passive, both you and your teammates can see the position of the next safe area, so make sure to use this to your advantage, especially in the late game. Wraith Wraith is many players favorite legend, and for good reason. Her abilities are useful at almost any point in a match, can help both offensively and defensively, and can help teammates too. If you’re stuck outside the storm, use a portal to travel faster, and have your teammates follow you through it. If you want to give yourself a quick getaway, be sure to set a portal before engaging in a fight. But beware, enemies can use your portal too, so keep an eye on the portal exit for anyone trying to use your own ability against you. Her Tactical, the phase shift, is best used to get away – similar to Bangalore’s smoke or Mirage’s decoy. If you’re in a tough spot and about to go down, simply phase away. You do leave a trail of blue smoke behind you though, so make sure you head towards cover, or when you come out of phase enemies will be easily be able to gun you down.

  • Apex Legends: How to outplay opponents with Wattson trap – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to outplay opponents with Wattson trap respawn entertainmentThe latest character to be added to Apex Legends, Wattson, can allow players to set up some insane traps using her tactical ability. Popular Legends such as Wraith and Pathfinder can often be difficult to counter in-game as their abilities allow for players to have improved mobility, making them hard to pin down for someone playing as Wattson. However, one player has found the perfect way to make use of the Static Defender’s tactical ability, Perimeter security, in order to set up an unbeatable trap on unsuspecting opponents. Wattson’s tactical ability traps are often placed at doorways and narrow locations such as Bunker, although Reddit user, Kossuranta, may have found a better way to set down the Legend’s electrified fences. In this game, Kossuranta found themselves with a perfect opportunity to lay a trap for their opponents after reaching the safe zone of the Ring and noticing one of Wraith’s Dimensional Rift portals left unattended. After setting down Wattson’s electric fence next to the Wraith’s portal, which was likely used to help the players into the safe zone quicker, Kossuranta simply sat back and waited for the enemy squad to fall victim to the trap, adding a few extra shots in where necessary and completing the squad wipe. Wraith is often considered one of the best legends, but this trap counter to the highly-picked Legend’s Ultimate might be just what is needed to even out the playing field. Wattson was actually hit with a fairly significant nerf in the Voidwalker event, now taking 5% more damage (just like Wraith, Pathfinder, and Lifeline), so becoming a master of her abilities is more important than ever. More Apex Legends characters are expected to be on their way soon, with leaks of many new Legends abilities such as Rampart and Blisk already coming to light, as well as Crypto who many expected to be released in Season 2. Although no Legends have been confirmed as of yet, many are expecting the next characters to be released as part of Apex Legends’ Season 3.

  • Apex Legends: How to make Knockdown Shields actually useful – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to make Knockdown Shields actually useful Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends gives players tons of tools to fight back but using the Knockdown Shields effectively could be the difference between a Champion banner or a grey screen. But some players are finding it hard to use the equipment item to its fullest extent, especially when it seems like enemy fire goes right through the Knockdown Shields as if it wasn’t even there to begin with. Instances like these can make a lot of people question the shields’ purpose since baffling kills can easily lead to building frustrations. But there are a few ways to get the best use out of the item for it to actually help out during games. In a Reddit post, user ‘Cassiopeia93’ highlighted a puzzling death in which a healthy purple Knockdown Shield barely had an effect for stopping incoming bullets. “Are Knockdown Shields ever going to become useful?” they said after getting eliminated with over 500 hp left on their barrier. “Right now they’re just a way of showing off your favorite color before you die.” While it seems like the player was finished off because of a bug or due to the fact they were moving while using the shield (which can expose a limb or two), the thread prompted the Apex Legends community to swoop in to give their take on how to get the best use out of the shields. “Knockdown shields are extremely useful, so long as your teammates are handling their business while you hold on,” user ‘Venku_Skirata’ said. A few main tactics players need to keep in mind is that the shields need to be used with a teammate in mind. Whether using it as a stalling tactic in order to wait for reinforcements to protect them before reviving, or using the shields to protect other teammates. Even though a player is down for the count, their Knockdown shields can be invaluable for another squadmates to fend off incoming attackers. Downed players can use their shields to provide a movable cover that teammates can use to crouch behind and fire over. On the other hand, using a Knockdown Shield out in the open can lead to a quick death, so downed players should prioritize getting to a cubby or corner before popping their barriers. While the equipment item has its niche uses, Apex Legends routinely rewards players for their creativity which can definitely be applied to the Knockdown Shields.

  • Apex Legends: How to get Level 3 Body Shield from Lifeline’s Care Package – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to get Level 3 Body Shield from Lifeline’s Care Package Respawn EntertainmentLooting up a Level 3 Body Shield from Lifeline’s ultimate ability in Apex Legends gets a lot easier if a player knows where to look as soon as the Care Package makes landfall. Typically, Apex Legends players go on a mad dash to be the first person in their team to loot up Lifeline’s Care Package, regardless if the Combat Medic who called down the ordinance gets left out. Whether you’re the Lifeline in this situation or not, knowing what items normally spawn behind the different Care Package doors would go a long way to get desired loot as soon as the ult arrives. In a July 31 post, Reddit user ‘Ringo308’ gave a look into what loot items tend to spawn behind specific doors on a Care Package, which vastly narrows down where to hunt for a Level 3 Armor. “The Facts: A care package consists of 3 doors and each door can only drop an item from a specific loot list for each door,” Ringo308 said. “And the Care Package lands in a specific orientation determined by Lifelines position when she uses her ult.” The key here is knowing how Lifeline is positioned once she calls for her Care Package, since Door 1 will always be facing her at the point of when the ordinance was summoned. Door 1 will contain “either weapon attachments, the backpack or the knockdown shield.” Then Door 2, which is the next door over moving in a clockwise rotation, will have either a First Aid, a Shield Battery, or a Pheonix Kit. Easy Level 3 Body Armor This leaves only Door 3 remaining, and it’s here where players will be able to find a Knockdown Shield, a Helmet or the Level 3 Body Armor. Obviously every door’s loot is subject to Apex Legends’ RNG, but going to Door 3 seems like it’ll yield the best chance of snagging the set of armor. While this is definitely the best way of getting priority on the Armor, it should be noted that good teamwork consists of communicating to a squad on what loot a player needs, instead of trying to quickly nab the best loot for themselves.

  • Apex Legends: How to get exclusive Wraith and Caustic skin with PlayStation Plus – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to get exclusive Wraith and Caustic skin with PlayStation Plus Respawn Entertainment, developers of Apex Legends, has unveiled two new skins coming to the game that can be redeemed exclusively by PlayStation Plus members, on PS4. Unlike the Twitch Prime skins, which can be claimed by players on all platforms provided they are an Amazon Prime member, these Wraith and Caustic skins are exclusive to players on the Sony console. PlayStation Plus is the premium online service for PS4 owners, but you don’t actually need a PS+ membership to play Apex Legends online, as it is a free-to-play game. If you want these skins, however, you will need to have a membership. If you’re not already signed up, you can buy PlayStation Plus for one month, three months or a year. How to claim Apex Legends PlayStation Plus skins On August 2, Respawn revealed the two exclusive skins, and explained that if you are already a PS+ member, they should be unlocked automatically when you get on the game. However, if you don’t see them, you may need to redeem them in the PlayStation Store. You can also redeem the skins online. The skins are not all though, as also included in the pack is a Hemlock and Peacekeeper weapon skin, and two banners for Wraith and Caustic too. Although these designs were previously leaked, it appears they have been released earlier than the leakers intended, as they were thought to be part of a potential Halloween theme coming in Season 3. Something akin to spiders and monsters was also leaked, and combined with these fleshy, spooky skins, it seemed to lineup with the theory that there would be a Halloween inspired event coming in October. That could still be on the cards of course, but these skins clearly aren’t a part of it if so. Respawn has teased a major event being announced “next week” too, but have given no details on it.

  • Apex Legends: How to fix DXGI error on PC – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to fix DXGI error on PC Respawn EntertainmentA frustrating new error is plaguing Apex Legends players on g PC, with games crashing due to DXGI-ERROR-DEVICE-REMOVED, but thankfully the developers have discovered a workaround. While console players are still experiencing frequent crashes because of ‘CODE:LEAF’ errors, PC players are now contending with their own struggles too, because of the new DXGI crashes. According to Respawn, it has quickly become one of the most common errors causing crashes on PC, and they are yet to discover its “root cause”. Regardless, they have found a temporary fix for the problem, so if you are having trouble with the DXGI error, this method should, hopefully, resolve it. In their weekly developer check-in on August 2, Respawn say they’ve “been doing investigating into PC crashes with the DXGI-ERROR-DEVICE-REMOVED error”, and thanks to players reproducing the error, have devised this workaround. If you are using an NVIDIA graphics card, simply roll back your drivers to 417.35 and 417.71. To roll back your drivers, open Device Manager, locate your graphics card under ‘Display Adapters’, right-click and select properties, then go to the ‘Driver’ tab and select roll back, as shown below. Respawn explain that this has fixed the issue for “most” Apex Legends players on PC, and for those that it has not worked completely, it at least reduces the frequency of the crashes. There’s no word if this is also affecting users with AMD graphics cards, with the solution given only applying to NVIDIA cards. As Respawn continues to investigate the problems, they will hopefully have a more permanent fix in place, as sometimes using outdated drivers can cause other unexpected issues. The developers have been unable to stamp out the CODE:LEAF errors entirely, but have made progress, and they will have a patch coming soon to make some improvements.

  • Apex Legends: How to easily get the 20-kill badge in Shadowfall – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to easily get the 20-kill badge in Shadowfall Respawn Entertainment- Apex LegendsUpdate: Respawn has patched this method of earning the 20-kill badge, meaning you’ll have to earn it the hard way, by actually killing 20 other live players. The tips below still apply to killing normal players in the Shadowfall LTM, but you won’t be able to use them on the Shadow Squad now. The new limited-time mode in Apex Legends has provided a far simpler method to attain one of the more difficult badges in the game. Released into the world of Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends on October 15 and available until November 5, the Fight or Fright Collection Event introduced a plethora of new content. From spooky cosmetics to all new challenges and even the limited-time Shadowfall mode. This new mode puts 35 solo players in a night-time version of Kings Canyon to do battle with a unique twist. Upon being eliminated in the Shadowfall mode, players respawn an infinite number of times as a shadow. While shadows are unable to use abilities or fire their weapons, they have increased movement speed and ridiculous melee power that allows them to threaten the remaining survivors. Read more: All leaked Legends and their abilities – With only 50HP once in the shadow realm, Apex Legends players have discovered a considerably easier method of acquiring the rare 20-kill badges. One of the more challenging badges in the game, finding 20 kills in a single match was no easy feat for the majority of the Apex player-base, but this new limited-time mode has provided a much simpler path. Eliminating shadows counts among the 20 kills, and with only 50HP per shadow, it has become much easier to acquire the once-elusive badges. If you make it to the final 10 survivors, the objective switches and tasks you with making it to an evac ship to flee the area. Throughout this period, 25 other players are weak shadows that will all be crowded in close proximity to the ship. As demonstrated by Reddit user ‘gmoneydab,’ saving grenades and arc stars to spam at the sea of shadows can net you plenty of eliminations with relative ease. While certain fans are upset at just how easily attainable one of the more challenging badges in the game has now become, it is worth keeping in mind that the limited-time mode will soon disappear on November 5. Here’s a look at every new skin and cosmetic item available throughout the Fight or Fright event.

  • Apex Legends: How to easily counter Caustic’s gas traps with little known tip – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to easily counter Caustic’s gas traps with little known tip RespawnEvery ‘Legend’ in Apex Legends has their strong points, with numerous abilities that can be used to gain an advantage, but countering those abilities can be just as important. Whether it’s using a digital threat finder through Bangalore’s Smoke, or using the evasive abilities like Wraith’s ‘Into the Void’ or Pathfinder’s grapple to escape enemy attacks, there’s lots of ways to get the upper hand with some intelligent Legend play. Caustic’s Nox Gas Trap’s can be one of the more frustrating abilities to come up against, especially in the late game, where he can toss out multiple traps in a small vicinity – but this little known trick will help you deal with an annoying Caustic opponent. You can of course set of these traps from a distance by shooting them, but this will essentially block off an area for a period of time as the Gas breaks out. Instead, you will need to aim for the small red portion of the trap, on the low end of the device. By shooting this red area, the trap will be destroyed, allowing you to free up the area. Repeating this with any and all of Caustic’s traps will render his Tactical ability almost ineffective. Just be careful not to hit the rest of the trap, which will of course release the toxic fumes. Unfortunately, there is no such counter for Caustic’s Ultimate ability, which will do you some serious damage and slow your movement, unless you are also playing Caustic (and therefore equipped with a gas mask). So now you know, always aim for the red portion of the traps to completely destroy them, rather than simply detonating them and having to wait for the gas to dissipate.

  • You can actually dodge bullets in Apex Legends! Here’s how – Dexerto

You can actually dodge bullets in Apex Legends! Here’s how first season and Battle Pass have helped it keep its place at the top-end of Twitch. With over 50 million players hopping onto the game in its opening month, finding a victory can prove to be difficult, but YouTuber staycation has given fans an in-depth look at how they can use the game’s movement mechanics to their advantage as they search for a win and be crowned Apex Champion. Practice the fundamental movements of Apex Legends While it may seem obvious, making sure you know the basic movements of Apex Legends is essential to making sure you avoid taking damage. Staycation states: “If you can get these down, you’ll never look back, and you can look like shroud or Dizzy with enough practice.” The Apex Legends tutorial gives players all the basic steps they need to get movement down to an art, with plenty of open space to practice sliding, jumping and running to your heart’s content. Strafing Another simple tip, but one worth remembering, is to strafe when you find yourself in a gunfight. Hitting a moving target is much trickier than hitting a stationary one, so movement is key to making sure you don’t get hit. Players can also add jumping into their strafe, as this will make it even harder for an opponent to keep their cross hairs on you. This might make it a little more difficult to hit your own shots at the beginning, but with practice will be a key tool in your Apex Legends arsenal. Sprint-stopping Cancelling a sprint is another great way to throw an opponent’s aim off. When you find yourself under fire, start to sprint away from the fight to either the left or the right, and just as you start building momentum, stop dead, or jump backwards. It’s likely that the enemy player will instinctively follow the path you were taking before the sudden halt, giving you valuable seconds to fire at them as they attempt to readjust their cross hairs. Jump-sliding A tactic which can be seen used by a number of top Apex Legends streamers, a jump-slide can be the perfect way to escape damage. By jumping and then sliding away, your player changes their level and forces the player to try and follow you with their sights, making it incredibly hard to land shots on you. If you’re struggling to visualize these techniques, you can watch the full video, including demonstrations of each movement, below. While some of these movements may be second nature, it’s always important to know what tricks you can perform to avoid taking damage, as they could be the difference between a win, and heading back to the lobby screen.

  • Apex Legends: How to counter Crypto’s EMP – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to counter Crypto’s EMP Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends new character Crypto has a crippling Drone EMP ultimate ability but MVG pro Honggyun ‘Ras’ Song found a convenient way of countering the move. Respawn Entertainment released their new Legend when they launched Season 3 for the battle royale on October 1. While players have been loving everything from the game’s new map to the various buffs and nerfs throughout the patch, Crypto has been causing players a ton of problems. Even though the new character is a Scout type, their EMP delivers a “blast that deals shield damage, slows enemies, and disables traps” which can easily turn the tide of an engagement in an instant. In his October 2 stream, the Apex Legends pro was navigating a hectic battlefield against a Crypto and Pathfinder. After running into the latter foe, he downed them just in time for his character, Wraith, to tip him off of the incoming ultimate. At the moment he saw static on his screen’s borders and got the sound queue that there was an “EMP incoming,” the pro player immediately navigated into his inventory to drop his Gold Body Armor. Ras was able to avoid the huge damage that the Drone EMP gives to shields by simply unequipping it and leaving it safely on the floor. While the player still took the slowing effects of Crypto’s ultimate, his quick thinking was able to mitigate the overall impact of the EMP. After seeing that the EMP’s effects had hit him, he quickly picked up his armor to see it was still at full HP. This was crucial since it saved him from using any healing items he had left, in a game that was down to its last four squads. Crypto has been extremely popular among Apex players, as his drone’s scouting abilities makes him a better Bloodhound at the expense of mobility. But it seems like players can avoid the most damaging effects of the Drone EMP simply by dropping their armor in the moments leading up to the ultimate. Players are bound to find a lot of creative tactics using Crypto or his drone, so learning effective counters to him would be vital to surviving in Apex Legends Season 3.

  • Apex Legends: How to easily climb skyscrapers in World’s Edge – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to easily climb skyscrapers in World’s Edge Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are figuring out how to maneuver their way around the Season 3 map, and they’re finding clues hidden in plain sight to help them. Respawn Entertainment completely changed the scenery for the anticipated release of their new season – taking players to the chaotic planet of Talos with the mysterious newcomer Crypto finally added to the game’s roster. World’s Edge features huge buildings, especially in Capitol City, where it looks like Pathfinder would be the only viable Legend to use for quick accessibility up the enormous structures. In a Reddit post, user ‘DarthNareik’ noticed that some buildings have a useful bit of architecture down their sides which could be a godsend for players needing to find their way up one of the looming buildings. The clip shows the user’s team scaling the building using the various levels of metal bars poking out from the side of the building. It’s a convenient element placement since players can simply hold “Jump” to start the climb. After each climb, there’s just enough room for a Legend to stand on in order to repeat the process up to the next level. Choosing to scale a building like this leaves players completely exposed to other people in the server, but it does have its advantages. “The zipline inside makes so much noise I was always scared to push on top,” one person said. “This is a game changer for me, I died way too much in this building.” Although this doesn’t just apply to this particular building in the game as other players noted that some buildings have similar climbable steps to their exterior. “The other building (to the left in the video, the one attached by a world-spawn zipline) has a similar set of climbable metal bits on the same side of the building, but they are cubes rather than triangles,” another person said. Apex Legends players have noticed that buildings in World’s Edge are more climbable than a lot of the flat-sided structures seen throughout Kings Canyon. It seems like the Apex devs opened up the mobility of the game with their new map – all it takes is a bit of creativity from players to find these little tricks.
