  • Apex Legends: How to check Apex Predator ranked leaderboard list – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to check Apex Predator ranked leaderboard list Respawn EntertainmentApex Predator is the undisputed top rank in Apex Legends and many people will spend all their time trying to reach it. Many are also curious to know who the absolute best players are and how they rank, and there is a way to find out. The summit of the Apex Legends Ranked mountain is a long, arduous, difficult road to journey on and many fall by the wayside. Players who love to test their skills by playing Ranked Leagues generally hit a wall in terms of their skill level as the competition in Apex Predator is fierce. Several of the world’s top streamers have been able to achieve this feat including NICKMERCS. Given that the division is so hotly contested and space is limited in Apex Predator, fans of the game are intrigued as to how the world’s best stack up. Contents What is Apex Predator in Apex Legends? Apex Legends has seven different overall tiers for players to climb and Apex Predator represents the pinnacle of the bunch. It’s the division that houses the absolute best of the best Ranked Apex Legends players. Currently, only 750 players can be in Apex Predator, making it an extremely exclusive Ranked League to be a part of, given how many people play the game. • Apex Legends: How to become an expert troll with Crypto’s drone – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to become an expert troll with Crypto’s drone EAApex Legends Season 3 introduced Crypto into the mix and his new drone ability has opened the door for players to troll other players. As with each new season of Apex Legends, a new character was introduced and this time it’s the famous hacker known as Crypto. One of his abilities creates a drone that has the ability to provide scouting for your team, as well as grabbing banners, checking boxes, and even opening doors. The opening doors aspect gives players a chance to troll by sitting outside of doors and opening them over and over, with the enemy having no idea what’s really going on. Reddit user TheRealFrothers uploaded a video of him controlling the drone and hovering above a doorway, just opening and closing it. Eventually, another player comes out to investigate what was going on but wasn’t able to spot the drone. There are a lot of different things you can do to make this actual strategy. One of those ways would be to open the front door of a building to draw attention that way, while the other two players on your team go in through the back. Of course, it’s a whole lot more fun to just troll like this, but you definitely won’t be winning many games on this strategy alone. Crypto has been pretty popular since his release, of course, a lot of that is due to him being the new blood on the market. Read More: How to stop the train in Apex Legends – That said, players are still figuring out the best ways to play him and we’ve done our best to help by compiling a list of tips and tricks that will help you earn those wins. Apex Legends Season 3 is out now so make sure you dive in with Crypto and give him a try for yourself. He has a pretty unique playstyle so he might need some practice to really nail so it’s best not to waste any time.

  • Apex Legends: How to avoid being shot while using Ziplines – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to avoid being shot while using Ziplines Apex Legends players have been mastering the game’s movement since it launched on February 4, which has led to an unusual approach to using Pathfinder’s Zipline to get the jump on unsuspecting enemies. Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale was met with massive success during its initial launch period. Now it seems like the game’s community are starting to hone their skills with individual Legends, resulting in incredible new tactics being discovered. In a Reddit post, user ‘br0000d’ showed how to mix up their movement while using a Zipline to close the gap against an opposing player, while leaving them guessing on where to shoot. In the clip, br0000d is locked in a long-range fight against a Mirage when the Redditor finds the opportune moment to use their Zipline to get up close and personal to finish them off. Typically, using a Zipline gives enemies an excellent idea of where you’re going to be since it’s a basic A-to-B ride. But br0000d perfected their attachment timing which made the enemy player shooting at him hilariously guess where to aim next. The Pathfinder can be seen hoping from on side of the Zipline’s rope to the other in a constant and fluid pace. All the while, the enemy Mirage is frantically trying to line up a shot before the Pathfinder closes in on them. Although it looks simple, attaching and reattaching while bobbing left and right can take some practice, since it would have taken br0000d only one mistake to miss their Zipline and be left in the open to get cleaned up. More ways to mix up movement in Apex Legends Players just starting their conquests in King’s Canyon might think the characters’ movements feel clunky or slow. But the trick to staying alive longer in Apex Legends is to use various techniques to stay one step ahead of the competition. In the game’s tutorial, players learn how to slide and that’s an invaluable way to pick up speed for an attack or to retreat. Similarly, wall jumping can go a long way to getting yourself out of a tricky situation. Even though the more agile Legends will have a better time getting around the battlegrounds, every character has some way of mixing up their movement stay alive longer. Mastering different techniques to get around can lead to a better experience in Apex Legends, and awesome clips like the one br0000d showed.

  • Apex Legends: How to stop the train on new World’s Edge map – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to stop the train on new World’s Edge map RespawnWith the Apex Legends Season 3 update came a string of changes, but intuitive players have discovered a way to stop the train on the new World’s Edge map. The new Apex Legends map has received some great feedback from players, with the replacement of King’s Canyon initially a cause of concern for some. However, even top streamers such as Shroud are discussing why World’s Edge is so good. Despite this, one small feature has been really annoying some players; a train that flies through the map, able to kill any player that steps in its way, immediately taking them out of the match. This is obviously a nuisance when you’ve dedicated 20 minutes to a game, only to be taken out by a map feature rather than a more skilled player and, although it’s possible to avoid, even the best players get caught out sometimes. Now, though, players are starting to realize that you can stop the train regardless of where it is. If you jump on the train and head to the carriage at the very front, there is a panel with a button prompt to stop the train. Not only is this a great way to avoid dying to the train unexpectedly, but you can also use it tactically for rotations to different areas of the map, whether it be to find better loot or to reach the next safe zone. More likely than that, though, players will probably find a way to time it to wipe out enemy players and squads to their own advantage. If you’re not yet a fan of World’s Edge and want King’s Canyon back, then you’re in luck; it’s been hinted that a new version of the map will be returning for the Halloween Shadowfall LTM event, and it’s been confirmed that map decisions will be made based on player feedback. Meanwhile, it’s been rumored that the end of Fortnite – could the two battle royale games be going head-to-head once more?

  • Apex Legends: How to outsmart opponents with a simple Wraith trick – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to outsmart opponents with a simple Wraith trick Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player made an incredible Wraith play to outsmart their opponents and literally lead them to their deaths. Outplaying foes in Apex Legends takes a combination of cunning, clever movement and an awareness of what a character is capable of with their ability kit. While finding the perfect blend is tricky, it pays dividends when properly pulled off. Even though Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale has had its problems in the past, players have been grinding games and in the process discovering that Mirage isn’t the only trickster on the roster. In an incredible Reddit clip, Twitch streamer ‘Joker47jk’ posted a clip of them getting “jumped” at the start of a match in the Apex Games. Playing as Wraith, the user relied on their fists to get them out of a tricky situation. After recognizing that the situation probably wasn’t going to go in their favor, they hightailed it out of there to find another way to come out on top. With only a grenade and a set of armor to their name, Joker47jk’s clip demonstrated the best way to make something out of a bleak situation with Wraith. Instead of using Into the Void to make a great escape, the player preferred a more indirect form of combat. As the enemy Bloodhound and Pathfinder looked too eager to chase down the isolated Wraith, Joker47jk hatched a plan so crazy that it had a great chance at working. As the player was running away, they threw their only grenade on the ground ahead of them and proceeded to simply stand over it. Biding their time, the enemies approached their would-be-victim with vigor. But as they were about to close in for the kill, Joker47jk activated their Tactical Ability to avoid the grenade’s blast. Something that Bloodhound and Pathfinder couldn’t. Inside the protection of the Void, Joker47jk saw the kill feed light up with two kills credited to them. It’s a simple trick but as shown it can be an incredibly effective play against people thirsty for a quick elimination at the start of a game.

  • Apex Legends player discovers how Gibraltar counters Mirage’s invisibility – Dexerto

Apex Legends player discovers how Gibraltar counters Mirage’s invisibility Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player found a brilliant way to snuff out an invisible Mirage with the help of a well placed tactical ability from one of the least popular characters in the game, Gibraltar. Ever since Respawn buffed Mirage, there are some players who have been having a tough time countering the Legend when he ults to become invisible. While there’s some tried and true methods to thwart the Holographic Trickster some have been more effective than others. But players still having a hard time consistently countering the character’s invisibility can have a simple answer to their problems by bubbling them in Gibby’s Dome of Protection. In a Reddit thread, user ‘Inked_Cat’ uploaded a video of Gibraltar and company in a heated battle near the circle’s edge when the enemy Mirage found himself in a precarious spot between the entire opposing squad. With his teammates down, Mirage decided to ult out of there but made the fatal error of activating the Vanishing Act while in Gibraltar’s tac ability. By doing so, Gibraltar and his team didn’t need to rely on hard to see dust kicking up as Mirage weaves his way through the fight. Instead, there was a very noticeable silhouette shuffling around the holographic decoys of the Legend that easily gave away his position. Even though being invisible gives Mirage-mains a sense of security, the effects of Gibraltar’s Dome of Protection completely left the Trickster defenseless against the team that could easily trace his movements. At that point it was a quick cleanup for Gibraltar’s teammate Wattson, who quickly downed the exposed Mirage and used a vicious finisher to do away with the pesky Legend. How to counter Mirage’s ultimate? As mentioned before, while Mirage’s ultimate makes him completely invisible after the effects of the v1.2 patch there are still reliable enough methods to see through his trickery. The first thing players will want to do is listen for his ult’s activation which is pretty loud and obvious after getting used to the sound queue. After that its a simple matter of checking for dust tracks or splashes if on water, unless there’s a Bangalore or Caustic on the team. Like Gibraltar, Bangalore and Caustic can use their respective tactical abilities to basically outline where Mirage is after he ults, making him easy prey.

  • Apex Legends: How to get more Apex Coins, Legend Tokens and Crafting Metals – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to get more Apex Coins, Legend Tokens and Crafting Metals Respawn EntertainmentThere’s a wide variety of incredible cosmetics available in Apex Legends, but in order to access them, you’re going to need to get your hands on some in-game currency like Legend Tokens and Crafting Metals. Just like its battle royale rivals, Apex Legends allows players to purchase new cosmetics like weapon skins, banners, and voice quips with micro-transactions. None of these items provide players with any competitive advantage in the game, but they do help you stand out from the crowd – especially when you’ve got some classic skins to brag about to newer players. So, let’s take a look at how you can get your hands on Apex Coins, Legend Tokens, and Crafting Metals in-game as these are vitals to getting cosmetics. How to get Apex Coins The easiest way to get your hands on new items is by buying some Apex Coins, which are available for purchase in the game using real-world money. Players can spend anywhere from $9.99 up to $99.99 on this currency, which can then be used to buy Apex Packs, specific items found in the in-game store, or features from the Armory. Apex Coins can also be used to unlock new playable legends and seasonal battle passes as well. How to get Legend Tokens Legend Tokens cannot be purchased with cash and are awarded to players for reaching the next level, allowing players who earn enough of them to unlock new legends from the store. With leaks from data miners seemingly revealing the names and abilities of some potential new arrivals for Apex Legends, it seems like a lot of new content is on the horizon. So, the more Legend Tokens you have, the better. How to get Crafting Metals Finally, players can also unlock new items using Crafting Metals. These can be exchanged for weapons skins inside the Armory, but currently, the only way to get your hands on them is inside Apex Packs. For players who don’t really want to spend any cash on in-game cosmetics, Apex Packs can also be unlocked by simply playing the game, as they are offered as rewards to players who have leveled up and through the battle pass too. You can find different variants of Crafting Materials inside these packs, too. These include Common (15), Rare (30), Epic (200), and Legendary (600) types, which all have a different value. The rarer the Crafting Materials you find, the more currency you will have to spend on crafting cosmetics. These typically sell for between 30 to 1,200 Crafting Metals a piece. Respawn have also revealed the expected drop rate for the rarity level of items that can be found inside them, with players having a 100% chance of finding at least one rare item inside. For those planning on buying Apex Packs but worried about getting the same item multiple times, Respawn have confirmed that Apex Packs have duplicate protection, meaning that once you have unlocked an item, you won’t receive it from an Apex Pack again.

  • Apex Legends: How to find secret Sniper’s Ridge on Season 3 map – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to find secret Sniper’s Ridge on Season 3 map Respawn EntertainmentThe new ‘World’s Edge’ map in Apex Legends Season 3 has a lesser-known mountain called Sniper’s Ridge, from where players can snipe down at unsuspecting enemies. The launch of Season 3: Meltdown in Apex Legends has introduced a brand new map into the popular battle royale, located on Planet Talos, where “molten heat and chemical ice collide.” The map features 15 named locations, or points of interest (POI), all with their own unique intricacies and properties that make them worth (or not worth) landing at. However, there is one location that isn’t actually named on the map, called Sniper’s Ridge, and it could be a very viable place to traverse to for players who like to engage in long-range combat. Read More: Doc hits out at Apex over shotguns – Located north of the Drill Site and west of Skyhook, Sniper’s Ridge is a mountain that contains a surprisingly ample amount of supply bins, one of which is guaranteed to contain a sniper rifle. The beauty of this location is that it overlooks Skyhook, and has a clear vantage point to nearly all of the sprawling metropolis and its surrounding areas. Armed with the guaranteed sniper rifle that spawns there, players can post up and rain hell down on enemies who may be running around ho-hum and not expecting to be shot at from there. Read More: How to stop the train in Apex Legends – The ridge itself can be accessed a variety of ways, such as landing there directly from the Drop Ship, using one of the jump tower balloons to glide there, or planting a zipline with a Pathfinder to get there. The video below, published by YouTuber Lord Spink, includes a tour of this location, and reveals how good of a line of sight players can get from up there. Segment begins at 6:44 mark for mobile users. As far as Sniper’s Ridge goes, landing there straight off the rip may be a battle between risk and reward. The positive side is that you will get a sniper rifle that you can use on players who land in or around Skyhook, and shoot at them before they can find Shields and health items. The risk is that there might not be enough good loot on the mountain, especially if you’re landing there with your whole squad, so it might be a better strategy to land at a nearby locations that may be more loot-heavy, then make you way up there.

  • Apex Legends: How do different Legends abilities and weapons affect movement speeds? – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How do different Legends abilities and weapons affect movement speeds? One of the more critical aspects of Apex Legends is movement, and players who master the different movement mechanics will be one step closer to mastering the game. There are a lot of nuances to how movement works in Apex Legends, and different factors affect the speed at which players are able to move around. Example of this include the fact that sliding downhill is always faster than running, and running with a weapon holstered is always faster than with the weapon equipped. In addition, there are certain Legends characters that have abilities that affect movement speed, and players should certainly learn to use those abilities to their advantage. With all this in mind, YouTube ‘T_status,’ has published a video in which he does an in-depth analysis of movement speed in Apex Legends and determines what affects it and by how much. Legends Abilities There are three different Legends abilities that affect movement speed – the Wraith’s Tactical Ability ‘Into the Void,’ her Ultimate Ability ‘Dimensional Rift,’ and the Bloodhound’s Ultimate ‘Beast of the Hunt.’ According to the calculations shown in the video, the Wraith’s Ult is 38% faster than normal running speed, the Bloodhound’s Ult is 25% faster, and the Wraith’s Tactical is 4% faster. As far as the Legends themselves, despite popular belief, the video proves that they all run at the same base speed of 7.4 meters per second, including the gigantic Gibraltar. The reason why Gibraltar may seem slower is because his hands have been coded to pump slower while running. Weapons We’ve already discussed that running with the weapon holstered is faster than running while having it equipped, and the video confirms that the speed difference is approximately 15%. The video then shows a simultaneous running test with several weapons from different classes, and the character manages to reach the endpoint at the same exact time with each, debunking the popular theory that different weapons can affect running speeds. Wall Climbing Last but not least, the video proves holstering your weapon does not affect the speed at which you climb a wall. The only thing that can really affect that is the Bloodhound’s Ultimate Ability, which offers a very minimal speed increase. You can check out the YouTube video in its entirety down below to get a visual breakdown of all of these factors and whether or not, and by how much, the affect movement speeds.

  • Apex Legends players discover Horizon’s new skin has a “pay-to-lose” visual bug – Dexerto

Apex Legends players discover Horizon’s new skin has a “pay-to-lose” visual bug EAA recurring Apex Legends visual bug has returned following the launch of the latest season and it’s affecting Horizon’s new skin. Like the vast majority of popular online games, Apex Legends isn’t without its fair share of glitches and technical woes. One bug, in particular, has reared its head a few too many times, though. The bug in question pops up when players aim down the sights, making it appear as though the character’s arm is blocking the view. And, according to fans, the error only occurs when new skins enter the mix. Unfortunately, Horizon’s Dressed to Kill skin seems to be the bug’s latest target. Apex Legends fans spot weird bug impacting Horizon’s new skin Reddit user eat_Mini_Wheats recently spotted the aforementioned visual bug while playing with Horizon’s new skin attached. The Redditor shared their findings in a short gameplay clip, which shows the screen becoming slightly obscured whenever Horizon aims her weapon. In response to the post linked below, another user noted, “Somehow this exact bug happens with exactly 1 new skin every single event and it’s always only with the Prowler while using a 1x scope. This has been happening all the time since like season 7…” Players are understandably frustrated by the bug’s recurring appearances. One person called it one of Apex Legends’ “pay-to-lose classics.” “I’m still convinced they never play test anything,” someone else chimed in, to which others responded with a reminder that EA laid off 200 QA testers earlier this year. Notably, this move only affected the publisher’s Baton Rouge-based office. EA bosses maintain the decision stemmed from a desire to expand “the distribution of [its] Apex Legends testing team” on a global scale. This supposedly allows the company to increase the hours per week that it invests in testing and optimizing live-service games. Some things keep slipping through the cracks, though.

  • Apex Legends devs still planning more Horizon nerfs after Chaos Theory changes – Dexerto

Apex Legends devs still planning more Horizon nerfs after Chaos Theory changes Respawn EntertainmentHorizon was hit with a nerf to her ultimate in the Apex Legends Chaos Theory update. However, Respawn aren’t satisfied. The devs are planning more nerfs to the Gravitational Manipulator, targeting her Gravity Lift. Horizon was one of numerous Legends hit with a pretty hefty set of changes in the Apex Legends Chaos Theory update. The Gravitational Manipulator now has a longer cooldown on her Black Hole ultimate, up from two minutes to three. However, the community was disappointed Respawn didn’t nerf her tactical ability, Gravity Lift, which many believe is the reason why Horizon is top-tier. The devs haven’t forgotten about it though. In fact, they’re still planning more nerfs to Horizon and her Gravity Lift specifically to bring her back into line. The reason why they didn’t in the latest update was because they didn’t have enough time. Read More: Apex Legends Chaos Theory patch notes – “We just didn’t have the time to do what we need to do to her tactical,” developer Daniel Klein explained on Reddit. “[In my opinion] the problem is you can jump in, take a full bat, and strafe while doing so making you almost impossible to punish. That’ll change, but the proper way to do that takes a little time.” The devs also admitted that Horizon’s ultimate isn’t the big reason behind the Legend’s success. However, the ultimate change was easy enough to ship for this patch. “Her ult is definitely not the bigger problem. That was just the change that was ready for 8.1. Her tactical is absolutely the bigger problem, but the nerf for that wasn’t ready in time for this patch,” Klein added. It means, just like Gibraltar and his arm shield, that more changes should be expected for Horizon in Season 9. What exactly will be hit — duration of lift, cooldown, or otherwise — is yet to be determined, but it’ll knock her down a peg.

  • Apex Legends Horizon is still “busted” with multiple weapons despite nerf – Dexerto

Apex Legends Horizon is still “busted” with multiple weapons despite nerf Respawn/EAApex Legends streamer Taxi2G has revealed that a few weapons are still “busted” when used with Horizon’s Gravity Lift despite the recent issues with her tactical. With Respawn making a few tweaks to the current roster of legends, players have been clamoring for a Horizon nerf, with many claiming she is overpowered as a result of her Gravity Lift making no noise. The Scottish astrophysicist hasn’t been properly reworked by the devs just yet, but the recent Spellbound event update has brought about some changes. Previously, her Gravity Lift didn’t have an accuracy penalty when firing weapons, but that has changed according to some pros – even though Respawn didn’t mention it in the patch notes. It’s led to some claiming she is now “dead” in the meta, but it appears as if there are still some guns that thrive in Horizon’s hands when she takes to the skies. Taxi2G reveals “busted” weapons not affected by Horizon change It was something Apex Legends streamer Taxi2G pointed out after a round of testing the legend, as he noted that there are a handful of weapons that don’t suffer a penalty. These are the Wingman, R-99, Peacekeeper, Charge Rifle, and the Prowler. So, it’s not like it’s only off-meta weapons that are still shining, these are all pretty standard. The streamer noted that the Prowler in particular is “busted” when the Gravity Lift is used in close-range fights, though it does have a little bit of RNG when used further out. Given that the change appears to be more of a bug than a genuine change, it likely won’t be long before Respawn clears things up and gets Horizon back on track. A few players, including ImperialHal, have claimed that the nerf is “embarrassing” but it appears as if you can still use Horizon with her previous power. You might just have to change up the weapons you run.

  • Apex Legends hop-up rework could shake up the meta – Dexerto

Apex Legends hop-up rework could shake up the meta Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer J4j9SlSw]Hop-ups can be the difference between a kill or a death in Apex Legends, allowing you to improve your weapon with one Epic or Legendary attachment. These attachments come only in the rarest varieties, and change each season, meaning that every few months there’s a fresh way for you to shake up how you play or use specific guns. For example, Season 5 brought back Skullpiercer Rifling, which was first seen in Season 2. You can stick it on your Longbow DMR or Wingman and increase their headshot multiplier from 2.0 to 2.5 and 2.25, respectively. Naturally, this means that each season players look forward to the new hop-ups that will be available, either as a completely new introduction or the return of old favorites. One player, though, has taken matters into their own hands, by creating a host of potential new hop-ups that they believe Respawn could introduce into their battle royale title, and they sound particularly interesting. Rounds (Legendary) — Compatible with: Longbow DMR, Mastiff Deals damage split equally between health and shields. – – Rapid Fire (Legendary) — Compatible with: G7 Scout, Wingman Increased fire rate at the cost of reduced damage and increased recoil. – – Ricochet Rounds (Epic) — Compatible with: Spitfire, EVA-8 Bullets will bounce off of surfaces and deal reduced damage (40% after first bounce, 15% after second bounce). – – Heatsink (Epic) — Compatible with: L-Star This weapon can fire longer before overheating. Also reduces the time of manual cooldown. – – These ideas could definitely help shake up the guns that are predominantly used in the game, as well as help make some more viable. The A.P. Rounds could greatly help if you get into a gunfight on the edge of the zone, taking health from enemies in the storm could help you fight off those pesky enemies holding you back. After all, they take both shield and regular HP. Obviously, these ideas make for some interesting consideration, but whether they would actually be viable in the game is a whole other question. As Worgen says, they are not an expert on game balance or anything similar, although the Apex devs may yet take inspiration from these ideas.

  • Apex Legends Hop-up concept would finally making crafting powerful – Dexerto

Apex Legends Hop-up concept would finally making crafting powerful Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has suggested a major change to hop-ups that involves making all of the attachments craftable instead of being ground loot. Apex Legends Season 10 has arrived and the community is enjoying all of the new content that Emergence has brought to the title. Whether it’s the lethal Rampage LMG, the Worlds Edge map changes, or the new Legend Seer, Season 10 certainly marked a huge shift in the game’s meta. Despite all of the exciting new additions, Apex players are always suggesting new and interesting ideas to the devs to help make Respawn’s battle royale better. Whether it’s cosmetic designs, balance changes, or even Legend concepts, there’s never a day that goes by where a player doesn’t come up with a unique idea for Apex. This time, it comes in the form of a hop-up rework, which would involve making some major changes to the way that players customize their weapons. Hop-up concept would completely change gun customization While the majority of weapons in Apex Legends are viable just after dropping into the map, as the match progresses, its key players get their hands on a hop-up for their gun. These attachments add a huge boost of power to a lot of weapons and can be the difference-maker heading into the final circle. Despite this, sometimes it can feel almost impossible to find the correct hop-up. To combat this, Reddit user SteelCode has suggested that these powerful attachments should be exclusive to Crafting Stations. This would take the random element of ground loot out of the equation and create a more “controlled ecosystem” when building up a weapon with upgrades. Adding to their argument, SteelCode even suggests that reworking hop-ups into this system would clean up the loot pool and stop the frustration of players constantly finding the wrong attachment. Either way, it’s clear that this would be a huge change for Apex and the devs would have to balance the prices of certain hop-ups that provide more power than others. However, there’s no denying it’s an interesting idea that Respawn may want to consider if they’re looking to reduce some of the randomized elements of their title.

  • Apex Legends Honor System idea would reward good teammates – Dexerto

Apex Legends Honor System idea would reward good teammates EABorrowing from the likes of CS:GO and Overwatch, an Apex Legends ‘Honor System’ would allow you to reward good teammates while solving one of the game’s biggest issues. Trolls and toxic teammates in multiplayer gaming are seemingly unavoidable. While there are occasions where leaving a match prematurely simply can’t be helped, players often take an early exit out of spite — leaving their teammates to fight a losing battle. The story is no different in Apex Legends, where one player pulling the cord early or behaving poorly can spell disaster for the outcome of a squad’s match. Not to mention griefing, refusing to revive, or just generally being a bad sport. Turning to other games (such as CS:GO and Overwatch) for inspiration, ‘iAmCalli’ devised an ‘Honor System’ which would actively promote better behavior inside the server. Essentially, you’d have the ability to ‘bless’ your allies for recognizing their efforts as a good teammate. As a result, players can progress through tiers — with each tier progression providing more coveted rewards. Leaving matches early would result in Honor Points being revoked from players, with connection issues being the only exception to the rule. To ensure players don’t ‘game the system’ and boost their friends, they would be capped to three blessings per day when partying up with premade squads. Alongside the rewards available for your corresponding tier, you’d have a badge to sport in the pre-game lobbies — signaling the type of teammate that you are to your squadmates. A system like this could also be introduced as a variable when queueing for a match, whereby players with a better Honor rating would be more likely to find players of a similar caliber. While the Honor System concept wouldn’t completely squash toxicity in the Apex Games, it would certainly be a step in the right direction. Another player had a suggestion to simply introduce a points system for good behavior, where you could rank up and earn rewards. It’s clear there is a desire from players to see Respawn introduce some kind of incentives for playing the game how it should be played.

  • Apex Legends Winter Express 2021: Is there a Holo-Day Bash event? – Dexerto

Apex Legends Winter Express 2021: Is there a Holo-Day Bash event? Respawn/EAIt’s officially December, meaning Apex Legends players are anticipating the return of Winter Express and the Holo-Day Bash event. This year, Respawn are doing things a bit differently, but the classic LTM will be back. Holo-Day Bash was first introduced to Apex Legends in 2019, as the game’s first holiday-themed event. While Respawn didn’t go as far as to add snow to map, but did add one of the most-loved LTMs, Winter Express. In addition, festive skins were released for all the Legends, and this tradition continued in 2020, with new skins also added for the Legends who had joined the games in later seasons. So, as expected, we can look forward to another update this year to celebrate the holiday season in Apex. Is Holo-Day Bash 2021 coming? This year, Respawn is changing plans and bringing the holiday-themed mode with a Collection Event, rather than a themed event. Read More: Best guns in Apex Legends Season 11 – The Raiders Collection event will release on December 7, and the Winter Express mode will come with it. Winter Express In the past two years, the Holo-Day bash has included one main addition to the game – the Winter Express LTM. If you haven’t played before, Winter Express is unlike anything else in Apex Legends. A round-based mode, two squads fight for control of the Winter Express train, which travels around World’s Edge. In the 2020 updated version of the mode, players would respawn on a supply ship, and then skydive down into the fray. If you win the round, you restart on the train already. There is no looting either – players spawn in with a loadout of weapons and gear. This year, you will be able to select your own loadout. Challenges & Rewards As it’s dropping with a collection event, there is a prize track for the event to grind through. This will reward you for playing during the event, and grant you free cosmetic items simply for playing. The event will start on December 7, and run until December 21, so plenty of time to hop on the Winter Express.

  • Apex Legends Holo-Day Bash 2020: Start date, skins, Winter Express LTM – Dexerto

Apex Legends Holo-Day Bash 2020: Start date, skins, Winter Express LTM Respawn EntertainmentIt’s almost that time of year again, and Apex Legends’ second holiday season is about to get into full swing. Holo-Day Bash is set to return for 2020, with all new skins, and a rerun of the Winter Express LTM. To keep up with the yearly festivities, the first event of Apex Legends Season 7 will be holiday-themed – this we know thanks to some badges that have already confirmed the 2020 Holo-day bash ahead of an official announcement from Respawn. The exact same thing happened with this year’s Fight or Fright event, for Halloween, which was also revealed early due to in-game badges that couldn’t be unlocked yet. So, if you’re wondering when Holo-day Bash 2020 starts and ends, what kind of cosmetics will be available, and what mode to expect, here’s everything we know so far. When is Holo-Day Bash 2020 in Apex Legends? The Holo-Day bash will start on December 1, and run through until January 4. Holo-Day Bash 2020 update time The update is expected to go live at 10AM PT / 1PM ET / 6PM GMT. There’s no patch to come with it, so there won’t be any big downloads to worry about. Unlike last year though, this is not a Collection event. Instead, like Fight or Fright, Holo-Day Bash 2020 is just a Themed event. That means there won’t be a new Heirloom to unlock, whereas last year, Pathfinder’s boxing gloves could be unlocked by completing the collection. Apex Legends Holo-Day Bash 2020 trailer On November 24, Respawn Entertainment revealed a brand new trailer for the event. Holo-Day Bash 2020 skins Just because it’s not a collection event though, doesn’t mean there won’t be new skins and cosmetics to get your hands on. The trailer showed off nine in total, from what we could see. These skins will be available in bundles in the Item Shop from December 1, seen below. There’s also an event prize tracker, which you will be able to complete through challenges. Winter Express LTM Speaking of challenges, you’ll want to complete these in the “new-and-improved” Winter Express LTM. For those who didn’t play last year, Winter Express takes place on World’s Edge, with Mirage as the game announcer. The objective is to win control of the train over three rounds. And there’s no loot – instead, Legends are given preset loadouts. On the event, they said in a blog post: “This year, when your squad respawns after a round has finished, you will spawn on your own supply ship as it follows the train. From here, your squad will be able to survey the battlefield and skydive into combat as the train arrives at its next station and the objective unlocks. The squad that won the previous round will respawn directly on the train. “This year, when your squad respawns after a round has finished, you will spawn on your own supply ship as it follows the train. These will follow along with the train, and your team will respawn and jump from these back down into the action at the start of each round – unless you won the previous round, in which case, you’ll start on the train.

  • Apex Legends Holo-Day Bash 2020 event set to return for Christmas – Dexerto

Apex Legends Holo-Day Bash 2020 event set to return for Christmas Respawn EntertainmentChristmas is a huge holiday for millions of people around the world and it looks an Apex Legends Holo-Day Bash 2020 event is in the works so we can all celebrate in-game. The first Holo-Day bash event took place last year, focusing on a Mirage Town Takeover. This saw the train turn into a holiday boat for a limited time and introduced a number of holiday-themed skins. Now, this year it looks like the same type of event will be rolling out, this time on the planet of Psamathe, as the Legends have moved to the new Olympus map. Whether or not it will be snowing around those parts is a mystery for now, but it looks like we’re going to find out more sooner rather than later. Apex Legends Holo-Day Bash 2020 event details Following the announcement of Apex Legends Season 7, a number of creators were given the chance to play the new update content early. Some interesting discoveries were made in this time, including a first look at Octane’s new buff in-game and also crafting changes. However, one of the most exciting spots was the existence of Holo-Day Bash badges – spotted and screenshotted by YouTuber WaterGotHim. The description of the badge reads “Earn points during the 2020 Holo-Day Bash event.” Holo-Day Bash 2020 badges @Biast12 @SomeoneWhoLeaks pic.twitter.com/MtSQtlwVre — fire (@WaterGotHim) November 3, 2020 Apex Legends Horizon Holo-Day Bash 2020 sprays A certain Holo-Spray has been found in footage from those testing the new patch as well, seen below from user wolfforever5. All images shown in the picture appear to be focused on Horizon as well, which you would expect as she’s the newest legend on the scene. @Biast12 I just noticed this randomly. • Apex Legends hits new player record on Steam in Season 8 – Dexerto

Apex Legends hits new player record on Steam in Season 8 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has hit a new peak player count record on Steam following the launch of Season 8, blowing past the previous number. The start of Apex Legends Season 8 was slightly different to previous seasons, given it brought an anniversary event to celebrate the game’s second anniversary. Apart from that, the new season brought everything players were expecting – a new legend in the form of Fuse, a new weapon in the 30-30 Repeater, map changes to Kings Canyon, and a whole lot more. The new season appears to have been quite the success for Respawn Entertainment, given that they’ve now hit a new peak player count on Steam – blowing by their previous record, set during Season 7. Apex was previously exclusive to EA’s Origin platform, but after plenty of calls from fans, they finally let go of their exclusive grip on the popular battle royale and let it arrive on Steam back in November. The launch on Steam, and changes to Season 7, saw the previous peak player count stand at just a shade under 130,000 players, but the hype and excitement for Season 8 helped that record spike quite significantly. According to SteamCharts, a website that tracks the player count figures, Apex peaked at just under 197,000 players on Saturday, February 27. The exact figure was 196,799, so the game really isn’t all that far away from 200,000 either. AND – Apex Legends just hit a new all-time peak player count on Steam, with 196,799 concurrent players! (Dead game though obviously) pic.twitter.com/AQwGcUa5UA — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) February 27, 2021 While a new player count peak is cause for celebration, there’s no doubt that Respawn will want to kick on to 200,000 players and beyond on Steam alone. That could come later in Season 8. Changes have already been mooted, with devs teasing buffs and nerfs for weapons – as well as a plenty lengthy set of patch notes. Though, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. It might take the hype that comes with Season 9 to give the game another major boost.

  • Apex Legends hits new all-time player count record on the back of Season 14 launch – Dexerto

Apex Legends hits new all-time player count record on the back of Season 14 launch Respawn/EAThe Apex Legends community has rallied around the launch of Season 14, with the game breaking its all-time player count record in light of the release of the new season. Season 14 of Apex Legends has just launched and if early player numbers are anything to go by then it appears this new season has reinvigorated the Apex community. Season 14 launched on August 9 and has seen players logging on in droves. According to Steam Charts, gamers have just managed to break Apex Legends’ all-time player count record on Steam, hitting a new peak of over 510K concurrent players on August 10. An extra impressive feat given the game is now over three years old, having initially launched in February 2019. However, this record breaking feat hasn’t just come out of nowhere. For the last month, there has also been an increase in player count by almost 5 percent. Likely in anticipation for the release of the games latest season. And while Season 14 has only been live for a couple days, players are already finding new glitches in the game. On a positive note though, the new season has fixed up some reload issues that controller players have been expressing their frustration about for some time. While devs at Respawn also recently released a mobile version of the game in May, 2022, this peak player record accounts for just PC gamers alone. Apex Legends Mobile comes with its own battle pass and in-game events but also includes cosmetic items from the main Apex Legends version. Season 14 of Apex Legends is out now and includes many new cosmetics as well as a brand new character named Vantage. For all the latest Apex Legends news and updates, check out Dexerto’s full coverage here.

  • Apex Legends hits new all-time peak player count after Season 16 launch – Dexerto

Apex Legends hits new all-time peak player count after Season 16 launch Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Season 16’s addition of TDM, a new weapon, and balance changes have helped push the game to a new all-time peak player count – even without a new Legend. The sixteenth season of Apex Legends has been released to much fanfare, with players welcoming a host of changes, improvements, and new features that have long been requested, such as TDM and a Firing Range update. The new season also launched with a collection event to celebrate the game’s fourth anniversary, originally released in February 2019. There was no new Legend added this season though, which did raise questions about how excited players would be to jump back in, but early player numbers from Steam are a good sign. Apex hits new peak players Player count data for Apex Legends is only available on one platform, Steam. So, note that all the figures here are related to Steam players only – although can likely be extrapolated to represent the player base on consoles too. On February 15, the day after the new season launch, Apex has reached a peak player count of 609,000 at 2 pm GMT. The previous peak player count was 510,000, reached in August 2022, at the start of Season 14. The game took a slight dip after this, before picking up again in January 2023. The player count may go higher still as the day continues. There may also be another spike at the weekend, when more players have time to play. It’s a strong positive sign for Apex as a series, after some hits lately. The game’s mobile version is being completely shut down, and plans for a single-player Apex experience were also scrapped mid-development. Respawn and EA will hope this is an upwards trend that continues, and not just a short-lived spike. Another even older game, CS:GO, also hit it’s new all-time peak player count this month, despite releasing 2012.

  • Apex Legends hits lowest player count in years as cheaters & server issues run rampant – Dexerto

Apex Legends hits lowest player count in years as cheaters & server issues run rampant Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has seen a massive drop in its active player base in 2024, with players citing the game’s anti-cheat and server issues as reasons to quit and move on to other games. According to Steam Charts, the Respawn and EA title has had 244,779 players log into the game in the past 24 hours at the time of writing. The last time Apex Legends had less than 300,000 active players was in December 2021. The Battle Royale has had a steady number of players since its launch in 2019, reaching an all-time peak of over 620,000 in January 2023. However, the chart indicates an exodus of active users after May 2024, around the release of Season 21. Pros and content creators alike have felt the lack of interest in the title, and they took to social media to put forth theories on why the game is hemorrhaging players. SoaR Dray, an Apex Legends creator, asked on July 4 what the developers need to do to bring players back in for Season 22, which is set to come out in August. The overwhelming response across X and Reddit was the game needs an improved anti-cheat and better servers, among other additions like better game balance and modes. “Invest in a new anti-cheat, balance certain guns/legends, Gibby swimsuit skin,” one player said in response to Dray on X. Others want a better progression system, one that rewards players outside of the premium battle pass and paid cosmetics. “Give non ranked players something to grind for,” said one player in a sentiment mirrored by many. “Anti-cheat, better servers, fix audio. Those 3 things would make this the best BR,” a Reddit user said in a thread about the X post. Other Reddit users agreed, saying they have grown tired of seeing server error messages after suddenly leaving mid-match. “We’re five years in and I’m still getting kicked out of matches from servers going wrong. My friends and I keep trying to queue up together but keep getting errors,” one said. Apex Legends has always been dealing with cheaters, and the game even went through a public scandal over its security when a pro tournament was derailed due to a hacker in March 2024. Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen gave his opinion on the matter on social media, saying the competitive scene and third-party matchmaking services like Realm have helped keep Apex Legends growing. “For me personally it feels terrible to play Apex outside competitive right now with how sh***y the meta is in Ranked plus the cheaters/stream snipers constantly. I know that right now it’s not the end but I feel like we are just passing on time with so many great opportunities to showcase Apex,” he said. Respawn does have a third-party anti-cheat company retained for Apex and has been vocal about improving its internal security following the public hack early this year. Whether this dip in active players is just part of the ebb and flow of a live service title, or a symptom of larger issues, remains to be seen. Also, the numbers from Steam Charts only reflect players on the Steam platform and are missing statistics from console players. The game is expected to see an uptick in activity when Season 22 releases sometime in August as players will want to try out the new modes and get whatever new content comes to the game. However, if this lack of active players persists even with a new season, that would cause some concern.

  • Apex Legends hits incredible milestone within first 72 hours, beating Fortnite and PUBG – Dexerto

Apex Legends hits incredible milestone within first 72 hours, beating Fortnite and PUBG Apex Legends has only been out for a few days, but it’s already blowing through milestones and reaching incredible heights right out the gate. When word of Apex Legends’ release leaked on February 2, many simply wrote it off as yet another entrant into the already saturated pool of battle royale titles. Once players got their hands on the game on February 4, however, it quickly became the talk of the town, even managing to take hold of the top spot on Twitch ever since its release. Continuing with that trend, EA announced on February 7 that the Apex Legends player count hit the 10 million within the first 72 hours. :shocked:x10,000,000 So amazed @PlayApex hit 10 million in 72 hours. #ApexLegends https://t.co/rZmOgNnwhF pic.twitter.com/j68PYHMAfM— Vince Zampella (@VinceZampella) February 7, 2019 Not only that, but the game has reached a concurrent player count of over one million, a very impressive feat for a game that hasn’t even been out for a week. The statistic gets even more impressive when compared to both Fortnite Battle Royale and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, which took two weeks and six months, respectively, to reach 10 million players. Perhaps most surprising of all, however, is the exponential nature of the game’s growth during this period of the game’s infancy. After seeing over a million players in the first eight hours of release, Apex Legends then jumped to 2.5 million after 24 hours and now 10 million after 72 hours. While there’s no telling what will happen with Apex Legends over the coming weeks and months, the game looks to be a credible and worthy threat to Fortnite’s stranglehold on the battle royale genre.

  • Apex Legends hits 25 million players, Respawn teases new content and balancing – Dexerto

Apex Legends hits 25 million players, Respawn teases new content and balancing As Apex Legends enters the second week of release, Respawn Entertainment have announced that the game has crossed over another incredible milestone. Apex Legends released virtually out of nowhere on February 4 and was met with immediate and widespread acclaim. After first crossing the 10 million player mark after just 72 hours, it’s now been revealed that Apex Legends has seen more than 25 million players try their hand at the latest entrant to the battle royale scene. Not only has the game seen an unprecedented amount of players login in such a short amount of time, but it also has managed to hit a peak concurrent player count of “well over two million.” To put that in perspective, Fortnite didn’t pull in two million concurrent players until almost five months after release. There’s no denying that the overall sustained success of Fortnite gave way to Apex Legends’ immense success, but it’s still quite surprising to see the game reach such lofty heights after just seven says. :rotating_light: 10,000 #ApexLegends Coins Giveaway! :moneybag: To enter: 1. First, there will be “some limited-time Valentine’s Day themed loot” coming in the next few days that players have to look out for. There were no specifics given on what kind of loot this will be, but fans will nonetheless be excited for it given that it’s the first themed loot drop in the game’s short life cycle. Looking beyond this week, Respawn teased “changes based on player feedback and experiences” in the pipeline. While there were no specific details given on what’s planned, the fact that player feedback is being actively listened to should be a welcomed sight for diehard fans. Apex Legends is also set to officially enter Season One in March, which will bring even more new Legends, weapons, loot and more. Despite all of the heights Apex Legends has already reached, it’s clear that things won’t be stopping anytime soon.

  • New Apex Legends hitboxes test proves playing as Pathfinder might be a HUGE disadvantage – Dexerto

New Apex Legends hitboxes test proves playing as Pathfinder might be a HUGE disadvantage One of the more popular Legends used in Apex Legends is the Pathfinder, but a glaring issue with its hitboxes may prove to be a huge disadvantage. Hitboxes are invisible markers and shapes used in video games to detect real-time collisions. They are what determine if and when things things in a game make contact with a character, such as bullets, explosives, vehicles, elements of the environment, etc… This means that in order to inflict damage upon an enemy player, one must make sure that the bullets they are firing come into contact with the enemy Legend’s hitboxes, or else they’ll just whiz by harmlessly. With this in mind, Reddit user ‘Wpns_Grade,’ has published a video on Reddit in which the hitboxes of certain Legends are tested and compare to that of other Legends. What came out of the test was a rather unexpected and worrying result, as it showed that the hitboxes of the Pathfinder are a lot larger than they’re supposed to be. The bullets were shown to be making contact only when they actually were visibly striking his body and head, showing that the Legend’s hitboxes were coded in pretty much perfectly. However, when performing the same test on the Pathfinder, the bullets were making contact with the frame of its body even when the weapon was aimed beyond its outline, proving that the hitboxes were not nearly as clean as that of the Bloodhound. Of course this result should be pretty worrying to those who like to run the Pathfinder as their main Legend, since there is strong evidence that it has a glaring disadvantage. This also presents a perfect opportunity to see how fast Respawn Entertainment react when certain issues like this get exposed, and the player-base will get a good taste of the developers’ work ethic when it comes to addressing in-game problems. Is what you saw in the video above enough to convince you to stay away from playing as the Pathfinder? Or do you believe that this isn’t that big of a deal? Let us know by tweeting @Dexerto and sharing your thoughts!

  • Bizarre Apex Legends hit reg issue makes player deal zero damage – Dexerto

Bizarre Apex Legends hit reg issue makes player deal zero damage Apex Legends players have been left confused as they appear to get no bullet registration – despite the fact that you can hear and see the bullets hitting. Hit registration has been somewhat of an issue in Apex Legends since its launch – although it’s usually absolutely fine, occasionally you’ll see a clip go missing in mind-blowing fashion and you can’t work out if you played badly, if your connection is poor, or if something sinister is occurring. That’s exactly what happened to a Reddit user who posted a gameplay clip on November 25, simply asking the question of “what is this?” as they watched on in bemusement. Hit reg issues can normally be seen on the Apex Legends subreddit but this clip, posted by Styxvfx, has to take the cake. Playing as Pathfinder, the player – who the comments suggest is an impressive Diamond in Ranked – manages to hip fire spray a clip into one player and knock them down, before chasing down their teammate. The Bangalore that was left, though, wasn’t going to get taken down as easy as their teammate. Despite the blood splatters and the gun reg sounds, no damage is actually taken and the Pathfinder ends up getting eliminated. Obviously, the comments were largely in support of the player, asking how an entire magazine of bullets could possibly disappear like that despite clearly hitting the enemy on the replay. Other commenters mocked the game being the source of the problem, while taking shots at the developers for “poor net coding.” Another decided to aim elsewhere, bringing popular Twitch streamer Dr Disrespect into the mix. “That’s 20hz servers, poor net coding and the most greedy company in the business for you. At this rate, the game is merely a cheap arcade experience most of the time, a shame really,” one said. “This hit registration failed so hard I heard Dr Disrespect screaming,” added the other, referring to the Doc’s signature rage which has been taken up a notch with Apex. It’s likely the Apex Legends developers will be looking at this and figuring out what is going wrong and how to fix it, but this isn’t an entirely new issue as evidenced by the history of similar clips on the subreddit. Whether they fix it or not, players are already starting to become disillusioned with Apex Legends – especially amid discussions around skill-based matchmaking in the game.

  • Apex Legends pro HisWattson reaches Predator rank without ever using armor – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro HisWattson reaches Predator rank without ever using armor ALGSProfessional Apex Legends player HisWattson successfully ran a Solo Queue from Rookie to Apex Predator rank without donning any armor. As many Apex Legends veterans can attest, Solo Queuing in Ranked requires an abundance of skill. The likes of Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin have seemingly discerned the best path forward, however. It wasn’t even a month ago that HisWattson climbed from Bronze to Masters without using tools such as Armor, Back, Helmet, or a Knockdown shield. The player’s latest success story in Ranked warrants praise, too, especially when considering the time and effort that went into the feat. HisWattson reaches Apex Legends’ highest rank without armor HisWattson has once more accomplished the impossible, this time Solo Queuing from Rookie to Apex Predator across 182 games without ever putting on armor. The popular streamer shared the details in a brief Twitter thread, noting that all of the 180-plus games were streamed live. HisWattson plans to upload a 30 to 40-minute “highlight/story video” in the weeks ahead, which will condense the 48 hours of gaming into more digestible content. Of course, HisWattson’s fellow Apex Legends players are nothing short of impressed by his incredible climb up the ranks. Some, however, believe this serves as further proof that Ranked is fundamentally “broken.” One person replied to HisWattson’s post with, “Good ranked system for sure.” Another user tweeted “This isn’t a good look” at the PlayApex account. Someone else chimed in by arguing that “this action confirms that [Apex Legends’] ranked system is broken.” The merits of the Ranked system in Apex have long been a topic of discussion, with the issue primarily stemming from concerns that low-level players often find themselves matched against those of a higher level. As such, it’s interesting to see how feats of this nature manage to divide the community.

  • Apex Legends hints at removing World’s Edge in Season 7 – Dexerto

Apex Legends hints at removing World’s Edge in Season 7 Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer y770CzB5] Apex Legends players are patiently waiting for Season 7 to begin and explore all the new content coming with it, but fans of World’s Edge will have to be patient to go back to Talos. The map was added to Apex during Season 3 all the way back in October 2019 and was the second map in the game after King’s Canyon. While it certainly mixed up the battle royale, it seems like World’s Edge will be on the way out when Season 7 gets going on November 4, 2020, based on what we’ve seen from Respawn. In a tweet on Oct. 27, the official Apex Legends account hinted that “with World’s Edge on the verge of collapse, the Apex Games need to find a new home.” With World’s Edge on the verge of collapse, the Apex Games need to find a new home. Tune in tomorrow at 8 AM PT to watch the Apex Season 7 Launch Trailer. There’s a whole new world on the horizon… 📺 : https://t.co/pDDK3xH6HW pic.twitter.com/BLciJ96Rhz — Apex Legends (@PlayApex) October 27, 2020 It doesn’t take a genius to pick up on what Respawn is putting down here, as it seems the map will be removed from the game, at least for a while, with the start of Season 7. This wouldn’t be without precedent either. Back in Season 3 when World’s Edge was first introduced King’s Canyon, the game’s original map from the release was removed until it returned in April of 2020. With Ranked being broken into two splits for the new Season, Respawn plans to introduce players to Olympus, the new home of the Apex Games, before sending players back to WE later in the Ascension update. In fact, Kings Canyon is already going to be completely nixed from Apex Legends’ ranked playlist in Season 7. It seems likely that the Legends will board the giant rocket that appeared recently on World’s Edge and set off somewhere new to battle it out for the top spot. As for what will happen to the train and everything else, there was a black hole showcased in Horizon’s Stories from the Outlands video, that certainly seems like it would be able to swallow the entire map, and even the planet it’s located on.

  • New Apex Legends character would create a rival to Pathfinder’s mobility – Dexerto

New Apex Legends character would create a rival to Pathfinder’s mobility Apex Legends has found so much success as a battle royale game in part because it features characters with different abilities and skill sets. This character concept would introduce a Legend with jetpacks. Apex Legends, the newest battle royale title on the market, has a growing list of characters coming into the game through updates and that leads many fans to create their own takes on who should be added to the game. While leaks have been pointing towards Wattson as the next addition to Apex Legends, there are still numerous other options for Legends that could appear in the game. Highrise, a new character concept, brings jetpacks into Apex Legends This new concept, created by Reddit user TheRealMeowCat, shows Highrise who would add some much-needed verticality into Apex Legends. Here’s a look at how his powers would look in Apex, if he were to ever enter the game. Passive: Aerospace Advancements Highrise and her teammates’ jetpacks do not produce smoke trails. Tapping jump when airborne while Highrise’s tactical is available will engage gliding thrusters for enhanced aerial movements. – – Tactical: Scrape the Sky Activate to launch yourself vertically. The longer you hold the tactical button, the higher you go (up to a limit). When released, or max height is achieved, hover for in place for 3 seconds. – – Ultimate: Overlord Overload your thrusters, firing a shock wave out from your location. Enemies suffer knock-back and aim-punch. Also kicks up dirt and dust, creating a disorienting smokescreen. – – There’s always room for more characters in Apex Legends. Apex Legends definitely has a place for a character like this but it remains to be seen if Respawn would ever go this route. Read More: When does Apex Legends Season 2 start? – Jetpacks would definitely be unbalanced if everyone doesn’t get access to them which is probably why you aren’t able to do stay in the air forever with this concept. The poster of this concept clarifies how the character would remain balanced in the comment section of his post. The hold jump to glide mechanic would need some alternate controls for console players to maintain aim while gliding. – Scrape the Sky height wouldn’t be wildly high, enough to shoot someone on top of a two story building. – Scrape the Sky can be manually cancelled by pressing the Tactical button again. – The smoke screen caused by Overload wouldn’t be nearly as opaque as Bangalore’s, just enough to muddy up your vision a bit. –

  • Apex Legends high CPU usage bug after Genesis event update: How to fix – Dexerto

Apex Legends high CPU usage bug after Genesis event update: How to fix Respawn EntertainmentMany Apex Legends players on PC have been enduring a nasty technical issue with the game since the Genesis Collection Event update, resulting in sometimes as much as 100% CPU usage when playing. Unfortunately, the developers haven’t identified a fix. The Genesis event went live on June 29, as always bringing with it new cosmetics, a prize track and a new heirloom, this time for Revenant. There were also lots of balancing changes in the patch notes, as well as bug fixes, but in fixing bugs, some others are always created. For PC players, a higher-than-normal CPU utilization can result in major in-game problems, such as stutters, FPS drops, or even total crashes. How to fix 100% CPU usage in Apex Legends Unfortunately, this bug appears to be widespread, and so tackling it totally will likely be down to the developers. However, there’s a few things you can try that might help. Restart Apex Legends – Run the game as Administrator Find Apex Legends file location on your PC – Right-click Apex Legends EXE to select Properties. – Go to the Compatibility tab – Select ‘Run this program as administrator’ – Click Apply – Press OK – – Using task manager, close background applications – Clear Origins Cache – Repair Apex Legends – Remove and Reinstall Apex Legends – Stuttering in Apex Legends Players have also been reporting issues with stuttering in Apex Legends, and it’s likely that the CPU usage is related. Read More: When is Apex Legends Season 10? – Respawn have responded to the stuttering issues, and say they are working on a fix, but are still in the early stages of diagnosing the problem. If none of the above fixes work, it may be a case of waiting until the next update for Apex, when hopefully the developers will roll out a fix.

  • Revenant ability creates perfect hiding spot on Apex Legends Storm Point map – Dexerto

Revenant ability creates perfect hiding spot on Apex Legends Storm Point map Electronic ArtsA Revenant player climbed a tree to find the perfect hiding spot while battling foes on the Storm Point map in Apex Legends. An offensive Legend introduced during Season 4, Revenant is the ideal character for players who prefer Apex Legends’ more tactical qualities. One of the many boons to the hero’s ambush tactics comes in the form of a Stalker ability allowing Revenant to wall climb at a greater speed and distance than his counterparts. It’s this particular passive ability that helped one player uncover an advantageous hiding place on Storm Point. Revenant ability is great for this Apex Legends hiding spot MisterMatt13 shared a “useful” tip for Revenant players in the Apex Legends subreddit, one that shows off a well-hidden vantage point. In a short gameplay clip, the Redditor demonstrates how users can exploit Revanant’s Stalker skill to climb a tall tree on the Storm Point map. How useful this tree-climbing trick is long-term remains a mystery, yet it could supply a quick and easy way of getting out of a short-term jam. Apparently, Revenant isn’t the only Legend capable of making use of tree-based hiding spots in Apex Legends. Another Redditor chimed in to note that the Winged Avenger herself, Valkyrie, can similarly climb trees. Apex Legends players will soon have yet another new hero to experiment with when Season 15 goes live on Tuesday, November 1. The new update will add Catalyst to the line-up as the game’s first trans Legend. Developer Respawn Entertainment plans to share more details about the next season, known as Eclipse, in a reveal trailer slated for Thursday, October 20.

  • Apex Legends hiding spot could make perfect King’s Canyon sniper’s nest – Dexerto

Apex Legends hiding spot could make perfect King’s Canyon sniper’s nest Respawn EntertainmentA hidden spot on King’s Canyon could be the perfect Apex Legends sniper’s nest to help win your next few games. Apex Legends players have uncovered a number of clever hiding spots throughout the battle royale’s lifecycle. From a sneaky spot just for Pathfinder, to a unique area in the Harvester on World’s Edge, there are plenty of places to run and hide. A new spot discovered on Kings Canyon could be the most practical to date, however, as players are able to snipe down foes from afar, all while hidden away. Venturing through the map with only a handful of squads left standing, a unique hiding spot was found close to The Cage. “Do you want to know the most broken spot in the whole game?” Reddit user ‘TheIrritatedCritic’ asked in the midst of a March 31 ranked game. Ziplining up to the high-ground in the remnants of the Bridges area from the map’s first iteration, they soon slid underneath a nearby structure. Seemingly an area that players are supposed to be locked out of by an invisible wall of sorts, they were able to awkwardly float across to a crazily powerful hiding spot. Completely hidden away from opposing teams, with only one entry-point, it would be a cheeky location to camp out a lobby if the storm closes in around that particular area. However, gaps in the wooden surface actually allow you to peer through and potentially snipe down enemies from afar as well. “No one will see you down there either, and going up the zipline, no one will see you,” they explained. “It’s probably the most broken spot in the f***ing game.” Without a sniper at the ready, players could pepper away at enemies with automatic weapons or simply use the spot to scout without any fear of being picked off. While the spot may soon be patched out of the game, developers at Respawn are yet to comment on the matter so be sure to keep an eye out for players abusing it.

  • Apex Legends hidden message reveals Mirage is related to Titanfall 2 characters – Dexerto

Apex Legends hidden message reveals Mirage is related to Titanfall 2 characters Respawn EntertainmentA secret lore drop found on the Mirage Voyage – brought back by Respawn in the lead-up to Season 8 – has revealed a close connection between the Holographic Trickster and two characters from Titanfall 2. In a surprise move on January 15, Respawn threw the original Apex Legends’ map – Kings Canyon – back into the rotation for the first time in Season 7. This version of Kings Canyon features the Mirage Voyage airship, hovering over the remains of Skulltown. While pro players and content creators largely criticized Kings Canyon in Season 6 – leading to its absence from the rotation in Season 7 – the announcement was met with support from the community, including praise for bringing the Mirage Voyage to Kings Canyon for the first time. The airship is not the only new addition in Kings Canyon. A hidden voice message on a phone revealed a connection between the game’s loveable jokester Mirage and two characters from Respawn’s previous franchise: Titanfall 2. The message from Evelyn Witt – Mirage’s mother – begins with an imitation of Kuben Blisk (another Titanfall 2 character with ties to Apex Legends), then switches to a more personal tone. Evelyn covers a range of topics, including her on-going struggle with what appears to be dementia. Halfway through the message, she drops a bombshell when mentioning her brother Droz, and another individual, Davis. Titanfall 2 fans will already be familiar with those characters: both were members of ‘The 6-4’ mercenary group and helped Jack Cooper defeat Titanfall 2’s antagonists, the IMC. While it appears Evelyn is related to both of the soldiers, some fans are speculating that she is only related to Droz by blood, and Davis is more of a “brother in arms.” Regardless of the exact connection, it seems both Titanfall 2 characters had a close relationship with Evelyn and her son. MASSIVE NUCLEAR LEVEL LORE DROP FROM MIRAGES PHONE pic.twitter.com/dZeNeu2ueX — Shrugtal (@shrugtal) January 15, 2021 Mirage’s mother also says that the two would “always make me laugh, like Elliot.” Fans of Droz and Davis will certainly remember their funny banter during Titanfall 2’s mission ‘The Ark’, and it appears the two mercs passed their sense of humor down to Mirage. Some Apex Legends players have already gone back and found other connections between the pair and Mirage. In a short clip posted to Reddit by ‘u/R0NiR’, Davis and Droz can be seen taking a selfie during a Titanfall 2 scene, something Mirage fans will be very familiar with seeing. This is far from the first tangible connection between Apex Legends and Titanfall 2, which share the same in-game universe. Previous hints from Respawn include a Jack Cooper crossover, Bloodhound concept art, and appearances from Titanfall 2 characters like the simulacrum Ash. Read More: Mirage trick makes him even more bamboozling – Respawn has previously shut down rumors regarding the development of a Titanfall 3, to the disappointment of many fans. Despite no confirmed plans for a new Titanfall installment, the Apex Legends developer continues to tease fans with new tie-ins between the two franchises.

  • Apex Legends Hero Anime skins leaked: Wattson, Mirage, Revenant – Dexerto

Apex Legends Hero Anime skins leaked: Wattson, Mirage, Revenant Respawn EntertainmentThe upcoming Apex Legends Hero Anime thematic event has been discovered in the game files and dataminers have even managed to uncover some of the crossover skins we can expect to arrive. Season 13 of Apex Legends is well underway and the major update has received an overwhelming amount of praise from the community, particularly surrounding the new character Newcastle. However, as always, players are already looking forward to the next batch of content and although the upcoming Collection Event has been uncovered, another exciting update has been found in the files. Labeled as ‘Hero Anime’ in the code, this thematic event is expected to introduce a range of crossover skins to the Outlands and luckily, a few of them have already been leaked by dataminers. Apex Legends Hero Anime skins leaked As showcased by reliable dataminer KralRindo, so far four Legendandary character skins have been found in the files for the Hero Anime event. These cosmetics belong to Mirage, Octane, Revenant, and Wattson. When it comes to Legendary weapon skins, the EVA, Flatline, Wingman, and Charge Rifle will also be getting new cosmetics. Keep in mind, that there are also going to be Epic and Rare skins for the majority of characters and there could be more that haven’t been found in files just yet. You can check out the full list of skins for the Hero Anime event below in the middle section of the spreadsheet: https://twitter.com/kralrindo/status/1531305675208499200 Thanks to dataminers SomeoneWhoLeaks and Ezra_rc, we have images for Bloodhound, Bangalore, Mirage, and Revenant’s skins for the event. Apex YouTuber Thordan Smash has showcased all of them in his latest video, which also reveals that we can expect the Hero Anime event to arrive in late July. While cosmetics are without a doubt the most significant aspect of this update, it’s expected that Control will also return with the Hero Anime event as well. It’s also possible more gameplay content is on the cards, but we’ll have to wait for an official announcement or more leaks to surface before we can find out. • Clever Apex Legends technique allows for Hemlock autofire and faster bunny hopping – Dexerto

Clever Apex Legends technique allows for Hemlock autofire and faster bunny hopping Respawn EntertainmentPlayers have been uncovering new tactics in Apex Legends since its February 4 launch, and a familiar technique in gaming can essentially make Hemlock an auto-rifle as well as giving insane bunny hops. Respawn Entertainment has hit gold with their battle royale, as it’s already attracted more than 50 million players. But with more users in the servers, people are going to be hard-pressed to find ways to stay above the competition. In a Reddit post, ‘mnkymnk’ made some changes to his keybinds that dramatically improved the rate of fire as well as stability with the Hemlock, and applied the same trick to improve bunny hops in the game. Players should be all to familiar with the Hemlock at this point. Although the gun dishes incredible amounts of damage, its burst-fire can be difficult to keep straight and the single-fire mode can be unforgiving in intense gunfights. By binding Mouse wheel up to the Attack command and switching to the single-fire mode, mnkymnk was able to basically reproduce an automatic weapon’s rate of fire with the Hemlock. Though the clip show’s the rifle exhibiting a crazy rate of fire, ‘mnkymnk’ switched to the P2020 with very similar effects. Similarily, assigning Mouse wheel down to the secondary jump command can give players an easier way to chain bunny hops. Using this method drastically improves the speed of the player’s hops, giving them an agile advantage over their competition. Mnkymnk says that his method works with any mouse with a scroll wheel, but hyper-scrolling would make the technique easier to replicate. Apex Legends players who might be struggling to effectively use the Hemlock or make faster rotations could definitely get a ton of use from the creative binds.

  • Apex Legends helmets are getting a major buff in Season 13 – Dexerto

Apex Legends helmets are getting a major buff in Season 13 Respawn EntertainmentThe patch notes for Apex Legends Season 13 revealed some major updates to the game. From helmet buffs to syringe and shield cell nerfs, these are some of the most important things to know before dropping into the fight. It’s fair to say that helmets have been something of a touchy subject in the Apex Legends community. While some players might be completely satisfied with how effective the lifesaving item was in previous seasons, there’s more than one group that has been vocal in calling for either a buff or a complete overhaul to the current system. Respawn hasn’t taken it to the extreme quite yet, but the latest patch notes make it clear that the devs agreed it was time for a change. Apex Legends helmets set for big buff in Season 13 Saviors At the top of the list of changes to health and survivability items is an increased amount of protection from headshots. Both the Blue and Purple rarity helmets saw significant bumps, with the former going up by 10% and the latter boosted by 15%. Blue helmet headshot damage reduction increased from 40% to 50% – Purple helmet headshot damage reduction increased from 50% to 65% – Combined with the new Kraber nerfs, players will have a lot more of a fighting chance against every gun in the game. Patch Notes: Apex Legends Season 13 – Saviorshttps://t.co/WHs13PGvGo — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) May 9, 2022 In order to even that out though, the devs have also dropped the spawn rate for shield cells and syringes down by a good amount as well. According to the notes, both items will drop 18% less often in Season 13 than they did in Season 12. So while you might be able to physically handle a headshot better than ever before, there is still a lot to be concerned about. Thankfully, Newcastle will be joining the fight right on time to drag players to safety and get them back on their feet and ready to fight.

  • Apex Legends Heirlooms and weapons called “pay to lose” over speed bug – Dexerto

Apex Legends Heirlooms and weapons called “pay to lose” over speed bug Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Heirlooms are some of the most highly sort after cosmetics in the game, but one player has discovered that they could be giving players a significant disadvantage. Heirlooms are highly desirable items in Apex Legends, with each one tailored around a specific Legend. However, a recent finding has revealed that weapons released after the 30-30 Repeater and Heirlooms are giving players a significant disadvantage on the game’s battlefields. Speed is often imperative in Apex Legends, particularly when you’re looking to outmaneuver your opponents and go for those hyper-aggressive flanks. One of the best movement options is that of ziplines, which enable squads to quickly take to the skies and safely reposition. Well, this movement-enhancing mechanic is currently being impacted by Heirlooms and a number of weapons. Apex Legends Heirlooms and sluggish zipline acceleration In a video posted to the official Apex Legends Reddit page, one player highlighted how weapons released after the 30-30 Repeater and every Heirloom make Legends accelerate slower on ziplines. The player tested this out with a number of the Apex Legends’ Heirloom, 30-30 Repeater, Volt SMG, and no Heirloom equipped. There’s certainly a clear difference between the acceleration speed, which has led players to dub Heirlooms as “pay to lose”. In fact, it takes 30 more frames to reach maximum zipline velocity when an Heirloom is equipped, which equates to half a second. While this may not seem like a drastic loss of time, it’s still a disadvantage that players get from simply using one of the game’s cosmetics. As of writing, the post has received a lot of attention from the Apex community, with many players agreeing that zipline acceleration felt a little off when Heirlooms were equipped. “I was always confused when my friend was always somehow getting ahead of me on a zip,” said one commenter. “I f***ing knew the day I unlocked Bloodhound’s Heirloom and took it into a match it was f***ing up on ziplines. It’s nice to see definitive proof,” another responded. Hopefully, Respawn will see this thread and address the issue in an upcoming update, but for now, consider unequipping Heirlooms if you plan on using ziplines.

  • Apex Legends heirloom idea for Fuse ties in his love of explosives – Dexerto

Apex Legends heirloom idea for Fuse ties in his love of explosives Respawn EntertainmentA Fuse heirloom concept that equips the Explosive Expert with a grenade flail has gone viral in the Apex Legends community. Although Apex Legends players love collecting skins, gun charms, and banners from all the latest events, nothing is more sought-after than the Legend-specific heirlooms. These incredibly rare items can only be obtained through collection events or at a 1 in 500 drop rate in packs. Rampart recently recieved her Problem Solver Heirloom alongside her very own takeover event. As these items are incredibly rare, Respawn has to make sure they’re detailed and match their respective character’s themes perfectly. This can take a long time, so some members of the Apex community take it upon themselves to make their own heirloom designs. Heirloom concept equips Fuse with Grenade Flail A thread on the Apex Legends subreddit showcasing a grenade flail heirloom for Fuse has gone viral in the community. Delsigart’s design combines a heavy-duty melee weapon with Fuse’s love of explosives, forming this unbelievably lethal flail. With a patterned red grip and patches of gold plating, it looks exactly the type of weapon Fuse would have attached to his belt. Named the ‘Salvo Handshake’, Delsigart’s name choice even references Fuse’s home and harkens back to the incident with Maggie before he left for the Apex Games. The hardest aspect of an heirloom is tieing it to a character perfectly, as it has to match their theme and represent them in a unique way. Luckily, Delsigart has nailed it with this design and created a weapon that any player would be scared to face up against. While it’s unlikely that Respawn will adopt this exact concept, let’s hope the devs at least use it for inspiration, as it’s obvious the community loves Delsigart’s design. With the grenade flail receiving so much attention from players, it’s certainly raised the bar when it comes to Fuse’s heirloom.

  • Apex Legends heirloom idea for Crypto transforms drone into electrifying neon blade – Dexerto

Apex Legends heirloom idea for Crypto transforms drone into electrifying neon blade Respawn EntertainmentA Crypto heirloom concept for Apex Legends has transformed the Surveillance Expert’s drone into a deadly neon blade for him to wield. When it comes to collectibles in Apex Legends, none are more sought-after than the range of Legend-specific heirlooms that are released alongside collection events. These incredibly rare items have unique animations and sounds, and are designed to represent the character in the form of a weapon. With a 1 in 500 drop rate in packs, and collection events only lasting for a limited amount of time, it’s safe to say the community is always waiting for the next heirloom to release. While some players are satisfied waiting for Respawn’s designers, others take it into their own hands and showcase some amazing personal heirloom designs. Apex Legends concept gives Crypto drone-inspired melee weapon A thread posted to the Apex Legends subreddit has gone viral in the community, showcasing a Crypto heirloom design that equips the Surveillance Expert with a blade. Seemingly inspired by a previous Crypto concept, DawnBreakerRen’s heirloom revolves around the drone transforming into a deadly sword. Fit with a green neon blade and a light blue handle, the colors match Crypto’s theme perfectly, making it easy to imagine him using the weapon in-game. It’s obvious that a lot of the community wants to see Respawn implement a sword-like heirloom for Crypto, as it seems to match his theme best out of any of the characters. With Rampart being the latest Legend to receive her very own heirloom in the form of the Problem Solver, it’s hard to imagine it’ll be long before Crypto gets his time in the spotlight. Wattson’s design has already been found in the files, so it’s possible she’s next on the list, but Crypto mains will be hoping he isn’t too far behind. For now, it’s just a waiting game, but Respawn certainly has plenty of top-tier designs to take inspiration from, so let’s hope they deliver.

  • Apex Legends heirloom concept gives Horizon brilliant black hole switchblade – Dexerto

Apex Legends heirloom concept gives Horizon brilliant black hole switchblade Respawn EntertainmentA Horizon heirloom concept that equips her with a Blackhole Switchblade has gone viral in the Apex Legends community, with fans praising the creator’s unique design. When it comes to collectibles in Apex Legends, there’s nothing rarer than each of the character heirlooms. Respawn releases a new one for a specific Legend in each collection event, and if players do not earn it in the set time frame, they’re only available to obtain through packs. However, with a 1 in 500 drop rate that reduces by one with every pack opened, it can take players hundreds of hours to unlock a single heirloom. As a result of this, Respawn has to make sure each of these rare items is visually impressive and matches the character’s theme perfectly. Well, as the Gravitational Manipulator is yet to receive an heirloom, Reddit user -Alfa decided to design Horizon her very own Blackhole Switchblade. Blackhole Switchblade heirloom concept for Horizon goes viral A thread posted to the Apex Legends subreddit showcasing a Blackhole Switchblade heirloom concept for Horizon has garnered over 13,000 upvotes at the time of writing. Reddit user -Alfa, who has made animated heirloom designs for Wattson and Crypto as well, made the Switchblade in Blender and Substance Painter. Read More: Secret Octane buff confirmed in Apex Legends – The design of the heirloom appears to be based on the pen Horizon can be seen using to take notes in a number of her poses. On top of this, -Alfa even included a mini black hole at the top of the handle that seems to be fueling the powerful blade. This incredible weapon would be the perfect heirloom for Horizon and is exactly the kind of contraption fans would imagine her putting together. As expected, -Alfa’s design got a lot of praise from the Apex community, with fans begging Respawn to take inspiration from the design. One Reddit user mentioned how menacing Horizon would be with a knife, saying “Horizon with a switchblade is way more menacing than it should be.” Another even complimented all of -Alfa’s designs and creativity: “Man Respawn should hire you to make heirlooms all these are so badass”. With -Alfa making so many incredible heirlooms, surely it’s only a matter of time before the devs take note and use one of the designs for themselves.

  • Apex Legends heirloom concept equips Wattson with electrifying Sabre – Dexerto

Apex Legends heirloom concept equips Wattson with electrifying Sabre Respawn EntertainmentA Wattson heirloom concept that equips her with a Fencing Sabre has gone viral in the Apex Legends community, with fans begging Respawn to replicate the weapon in-game. Heirlooms are by far the most sought-after cosmetics in Apex Legends, with some players opening hundreds of packs just to get a single one. Although Respawn has implemented a system that guarantees an heirloom shard drop after 500 packs being opened, it can still be a long grind if luck isn’t on your side. As these items are extremely rare, it’s important that each character’s respective heirloom is special and looks amazing. Now Revenant has finally received his own heirloom in the Genesis update, fans are calling for Wattson to get one of her own. While most fans are simply waiting for Respawn to announce the rare cosmetic, Reddit user -Alfa decided to take it into their own hands and developed an heirloom concept that’s taken the community by storm. Electric Sabre heirloom concept for Wattson goes viral A thread posted to the Apex Legends subreddit showcasing a Fencing Sabre heirloom concept for Wattson has gone viral, garnering over 18,000 upvotes at the time of writing. Reddit user -Alfa has created an electrifying sabre for the Static Defender, making the blade of the weapon out of one of her Tactical fences. This allows her to turn on the heirloom anytime she wants, electrocuting any enemies that stand in her way. It’s obvious a lot of effort has got into making this concept, -Alfa has even made sure to program their own attack animations. According to them, they created everything in the clip using Blender and Substance Painter. As expected, this concept got a lot of love from the Apex community, with countless fans begging Respawn to add -Alfa’s idea to the game. One Reddit user mentioned the potential for some great puns, saying “I love this, it’s electric and it lets her make puns about fencing, it’s perfect for her.” Another even commented that the bar had been raised for Respawn when designing Wattson’s heirloom: “Now you set the bar so high for Respawn. They better top this”. There’s no doubt that the devs will have seen this concept, so let’s hope they take some inspiration from -Alfa’s design and give Apex fans the Wattson heirloom they’re calling for.

  • Apex Legends heat map reveals most popular locations for players – Dexerto

Apex Legends heat map reveals most popular locations for players Apex Legends has areas that a lot more popular than others, as is the case with any battle royale, but now we know exactly what those spots are thanks to a heat map. If you’ve spent any time playing Apex Legends with random players, then you’ve no doubt hot-dropped at Skull Town once or twice. This location has pretty much become the Apex version of Fortnite’s Tilted Towers but there are many locations that players like to frequent in Apex. However, this internal test map shows you that Skull Town isn’t the only popular drop spot. Apex Legends features high loot areas randomly each game so it helps players have more varied drops but it’s still easy to see what’s the most popular. Surprisingly, much of the map does light up in a bright yellow, showing players don’t really discriminate. The only parts of the map that aren’t lit up are pretty much the edges so this is actually a good thing. During development, we use heatmaps to look at where players land, move through the map, die, etc. We use this data to draw conclusions on map flow and balance. This is a heatmap of Legend movement from about 6 months of testing internally, before we shipped. It’s… so beautiful pic.twitter.com/s9yVd10qGI— Jason McCord (@MonsterclipRSPN) July 26, 2019 When a fan pointed out they were surprised Skull Town wasn’t more lit up, the developer did have to mention it wasn’t as popular of a location internally. “Skull Town was not such a hot drop internally,” Respawn developer Jason McCord wrote. “We can’t queue back up as fast (not as many players in-house) so each early death means you’re sitting in the lobby longer. Made people play more carefully.” Yeah – but Skull Town was not such a hot drop internally. We can’t queue back up as fast (not as many players in-house) so each early death means you’re sitting in the lobby longer. Made people play more carefully. — Jason McCord (@MonsterclipRSPN) July 26, 2019 It would be interesting to see an updated heat map now that the game has been out for nearly six months and has millions of players that have dropped in. Skull Town would almost surely be as bright as the sun but it would be nice to see where other players frequent. The developers have been open to changing the map up and it’s possible they use internal tests as a way of reworking more unpopular locations into something a bit more viable. In the meantime, they have to find out how to stop players from breaking off and dying in the opening seconds on a match at Skull Town.

  • Apex Legends Havoc rifle can “laser” people with Season 4 changes – Dexerto

Apex Legends Havoc rifle can “laser” people with Season 4 changes Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are starting to rediscover the power of the HAVOC Rifle after key Season 4 changes have made it a force to be reckoned with. Along with Revenant, the Season 4 update made sweeping changes to the battle royale’s list of items – namely with the removal of the Turbocharger hop-up attachment. While the gun lost an upgradeable tool, the devs gave the rifle a boost in other areas to compensate. Now players are rediscovering the immense firepower that the HAVOC can deal out, especially since its adjusted recoil levels out rapid-fire shots for better control. For mid-to-long range combat, players can make the rifle to throw down an impressive barrage of fire that can be used to bring someone down from 200-0 in a flash. Reddit user ‘danthemandoris’ showed how potent the HAVOC can be after the Assimilation update left the gun in an arguably better state than before. “Don’t sleep on the Havoc, ever since they reduced the recoil and muzzle flash this thing has been a laser,” they said. The notorious muzzle flash in Apex Legends was finally adjusted on March 2, making rapid-fire weapons like the HAVOC much less of a nuisance to use. Respawn also reduced the weapon’s “horizontal recoil, making it easier to control.” Those fixes essentially addressed some of the most pressing issues with the HAVOC, as seen in danthemandoris’s clip. After spotting a player coming from around a nearby corner, the player lined up the fully stocked HAVOC onto the target and took mere seconds to knock them down. Of course, figuring out the gun’s new recoil will be a player’s biggest issue. But that’s nothing that a few sessions in the Firing Range wouldn’t help solve. These changes haven’t affected the HAVOC’s hitscan capabilities with a Select-Fire attached, meaning it can also be an effective sniper at longer ranges. “Don’t sleep on havoc in single fire mode with a 4x scope at long range,” user ‘rwp80’ said. “It’s a hitscan weapon. There is no projectile travel. It is an instant line from barrel to target.” With its multitude of uses after the Season 4 changes, the HAVOC can quickly become a favorite among Apex Legends players.

  • Apex Legends has another Sentinel exploit to instantly charge it – Dexerto

Apex Legends has another Sentinel exploit to instantly charge it Respawn/EAApex Legends players have stumbled onto another instant charge exploit for the Sentinel, but this time, it only comes courtesy of Revenant and his silence ability. Since Season 11, there have been issues in Apex Legends with both the Rampage LMG and Sentinel sniper rifle. Both weapons have a charge ability that allows them to deal additional damage, and players have been able to exploit that. Some have been able to make it so neither weapon loses their charge, meaning they’ve got a permanent damage buff for the damage, while others have been able to make the charging process easier even if they have to keep charging the weapon. Respawn Entertainment have taken some steps to adjust both weapons – even removing them from the game at the end of Season 11 for a brief period. However, only a few weeks into Season 12, problems have arisen again, especially with the Sentinel. Apex Legends content creator RossBobSquirrel, who pointed out the instant charge exploit with the Rampage, also noted that there is a similar one with the Sentinel. However, it only happens because of Revenant. If the Synthetic Nightmare has the Sentinel equipped and is carrying some shield cells, he can pull off a timing trick involving the Silence tactical and a quick step forward to bypass the weapon’s charge phase. The small step is what makes it different from previous iterations of the exploit. While the exploit might not be all that easy to pull off in a firefight, trying it may just get you banned from the battle royale given that it is pretty powerful. Unlike other exploits, the sniper does not retain the charge for the rest of the game, but it saves a few seconds regardless. It remains to be seen just as to how quickly Respawn will clamp down on it, and if they’ll be able to patch it out of Apex before it becomes a go-to tactic for many players.

  • Apex Legends has another broken ultimate & Revenant players are baffled – Dexerto

Apex Legends has another broken ultimate & Revenant players are baffled Respawn EntertainmentAnother broken ult in Apex Legends is baffling players, this time with Revenant’s Death Totem working against the team by trapping players under the map. After the Season 12 Defiance patch update, some abilities have been a bit wonky at times. But this starts to affect people’s matches when ultimate abilities start to go haywire, seeing as they can be used to make plays or stay alive. For Revenant players, a problem with the Death Totem ult could mean everything seeing as it can give teams a false sense of confidence during a push in shadow form mode. “I sent my squad to hell,” user ‘ghostly249’ said. After using the Death Totem to take a fight, the player was greeted to a bugged resurrection that dragged down their team. Even though the Rev ult gave the team its effect, the respawn shortly after glitched them on the underside of the map without an escape. It’s unclear what exactly caused the Death Totem to bug out like that but other players have experienced something like this in the past. A fellow Apex player had a theory that might make Rev players think twice about where they place the ultimate. “This keeps happening to me whenever I put the totem next to a wall on a slope,” one person said. “Even stairs have the same result, not sure if it’s a new bug or not.” This bug comes on the heels of another bizarre ultimate glitch that was messing with Octane’s Jump Pad, completely breaking the ability. At times, these kinds of glitches can be attributed to a new update that messes with the game. When it occurs, Respawn Entertainment are usually quick to implement a hotfix or similar measure to rectify the situation. If more Revenant players report a problem like this for the Death Totem, then the devs might look into it to see if there’s a way to prevent more ults from acting out.

  • Apex Legends has a smurf problem ruining pubs and “discouraging” new players – Dexerto

Apex Legends has a smurf problem ruining pubs and “discouraging” new players Respawn EntertainmentMembers of the Apex Legends community have slammed smurfs for ruining the new player experience and “discouraging” them from coming back. In Apex Legends, the skill level of your matches is determined by your previous performances, which over time, should lead to balanced matchmaking. Unfortunately, as with any multiplayer title, Apex suffers from smurfs who create new accounts to dominate lower-skill lobbies. As these experienced players are disguised on extremely low-level accounts, they’re matched against new players who have no chance to compete. Well, the Apex community has noticed this problem and has called on Respawn to “exterminate” all the smurfs to improve new player retention. Apex community claim smurfs are “discouraging” new players Posted to the Apex Legends subreddit on July 14, user RazrSupremem shared their experience attempting to introduce a new player to the Outlands. In their first game, the new player ran into a level 6 Pathfinder who instantly beamed them down, giving them no chance to fight back. After checking the spectate screen, it was obvious the player was a smurf as they’d racked up over 15 kills with four squads still in the match. This encounter was enough to put the new player off coming back to Apex and sparked a debate in the thread. “She’s never played an fps before and wanted to try it and this is the type of s***y human she runs into,” they wrote. “Needless to say, she doesn’t want to play another game.” In response, a lot of users have called on Respawn to take more action against smurfs and “exterminate” them from the game, as their existence in lower-skilled lobbies is damaging new player retention. Others simply told the RazrSupremem to introduce the new player to another the game, as Apex is “anti-nooby” and there’s “literally no room to improve without getting your ass absolutely wiped”. Overall, it’s clear the community feels as if smurfs are being overlooked by the devs and that the “discouraging” presence of high-level players in lower-skilled lobbies needs to be taken more seriously. However, with countless other issues affecting the game in Season 13, it’s hard to know whether smurfs is a priority for Respawn at the moment.

  • Apex Legends has a new lowest-picked legend as Crypto overtakes – Dexerto

Apex Legends has a new lowest-picked legend as Crypto overtakes Respawn EntertainmentCrypto has finally moved up the rankings and is no longer the lowest-picked character in Apex Legends, but who’s taken his place? Arriving all the way back in Season 3 of Apex Legends, Crypto has never managed to retain a high pick rate since joining the roster. His extremely unique kit can often feel very stationary as he spends a lot of time flying his drone, and as a result, his playstyle only appeals to a small portion of the community. Despite this, the Surveillance Expert can be incredibly powerful in the right players’ hands and is even being used in the ALGS. Well, after countless months holding up the pick rate charts, Crypto has finally been replaced as the least popular Legend in Apex, but will he be able to defend his spot? Which character has the lowest pick rate in Apex Legends? Based on data collected by Apex Legends Status, it’s been revealed that Newcastle now has the lowest pick rate in Apex Legends. Crypto overtook the Heroic Defender in mid-November and has held the second-to-last spot ever since. It’s worth noting that Newcastle is sat at 1.333% and Crypto is only just ahead at 1.336%, so it’s extremely close. After hitting an all-time low pick rate of 1.1% on November 3, Crypto has seen a massive 14% spike in popularity over the past two weeks. This is in contrast to Newcastle, who has seen a continuous drop in pick rate since the middle of Season 14. If trends continue, we can expect to see the gap between Newcastle and Crypto get bigger as Season 15 progresses. Not only that, with Rampart at 1.6% in Eclipse, it’s always possible that the Surveillance Expert can keep climbing and take on the Amped Modder for her spot. However, for the time being, we’ll just have to wait and see if Respawn has any buffs & nerfs in mind for the Collection Event, as that would guarantee a shake-up in terms of picks rates.

  • Apex Legends reveals new Hardcore Royale mode just like CoD’s hardcore mode – Dexerto

Apex Legends reveals new Hardcore Royale mode just like CoD’s hardcore mode Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has officially announced the Hardcore Royale mode that has been leaked for some time, a Call of Duty style ‘hardcore’ mode coming as an LTM in the Celestial Sunrise LTM. Respawn is always keen to shake up the established BR formula in new ways. Season 15, for example, has brought back the much-loved Winter Express LTM ahead of the holidays. But, new LTMs are what players really crave, and their prayers have been answered with the new Hardcore LTM, which will turn the usual BR experience into a much more punishing experience – hopefully in a good way. What is Hardcore Royale in Apex Legends? In this LTM, looting will be much tougher, with rare items are at a premium. First of all, the only armor available will be basic white armor, with no leveling up to higher-level shields. On top of this, shields are not found in death boxes, meaning no shield swaps. Helmets are also totally removed, so headshots will be more impactful. Hardcore Royale Changes: Limited HUD – White Armor Only – No Helmets – Armor doesn’t spawn in Deathboxes (No Armor Swapping) – Ring starts at max Damage – The mode clearly takes considerable inspiration from Call of Duty’s Hardcore mode, a reduced health mode that seeks to imitate real-life combat more closely. In this mode, players’ HP is drastically reduced, and they have no HUD. In Apex, there is also the small matter of the ring. In this mode, the ring will do max damage immediately, meaning you will need to avoid it at all costs. The mode will go live with the Celestial Sunrise Collection event, starting on Tuesday, January 24. The event also features a reactive Peacekeeper skin, rather than an heirloom, for completing the event collection.

  • Apex Legends Harbingers Collection Event patch notes: Fuse heirloom, Horizon & Revenant nerfs, more – Dexerto

Apex Legends Harbingers Collection Event patch notes: Fuse heirloom, Horizon & Revenant nerfs, more Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends is releasing the Harbinger Collection Event for Season 18, complete with Fuse’s heirloom, World’s Edge After Dark, a new LTM, and legend buffs and nerfs. If you see one coming towards you though, you can shoot it down yourself, causing an early detonation. It appears everything else is unchanged in this mode, which will be available for the duration of the event. Map: World’s Edge After Dark Respawn says the ‘after dark’ version of world’s edge isn’t just a simple lighting change, but also features updates to various locations: “Shrouded in Darkness, World’s Edge becomes a bewitched battleground featuring updates to once familiar POIs. Enter the Pain Yard at your own risk to fight around a train going nowhere, or keep warm by The Tree in its flaming glory. But watch out for lava—it’s a MRVN’s worst nightmare and may be yours too.” Collection Event Skins As with every collection event, you can ‘complete’ it by earning (or buying) all the items in the event, which include an assortment of Legendary and Epic skins. • Apex Legends Halloween skins 2020 leaked: Loba, Crypto, more – Dexerto

Apex Legends Halloween skins 2020 leaked: Loba, Crypto, more Respawn/EAA batch of Apex Legends Halloween-themed skins have been leaked following the Aftermarket collection event update – with a handful of unique looks for numerous Legends. [jwplayer ePrNLj8A] With each new Apex Legends season, Respawn has introduced a collection event where an update is dropped on the game, tuning some things, and also bringing new cosmetics with it. Following the Aftermarket event update, leakers have been hard at work trying to find clues about what’s coming at the end of Season 6 and beyond – with some managing to find major spoilers about the Legend named Horizon. Aside from that, though, others have been revealed the new cosmetics that will be up for grabs, and there are certainly some interesting new looks coming down the line. The new cosmetics were posted by reliable leaker Shrugtal, who posted new looks for Bangalore, Bloodhound, Caustic, Crypto, Gibraltar, Loba, Revenant, and Wraith. Of course, with these being Halloween-themed skins, players won’t just get a new spooky color scheme for these Legends. No, they all look like they’ve dressed up for the occasion with new costumes. Though, the leaker did state that old ones will be re-released too The pick of the bunch, from Shrugtal’s new leaks, might just be Bloodhound – who’s normal head is replaced by a Pumpkin again. Aside from them, Crypto has another interesting look, as does Gibraltar. Both Bangalore and Caustic have pretty terrifying looks if you get up close and personal with them. The latter looks like some sort of demonic clown with the hair and new mask. Loba is turned blue with her Banshee Queen skin. Halloween Bangalore: “”Soldado de la Muerte”” pic.twitter.com/KUYJc1LT8Y — Shrugtal (@shrugtal) October 6, 2020 On top of that, there is a Pirate-themed Nessy weapon charm where the mythical creature is carrying a Trick or Treat basket in its mouth. When is the Apex Legends Halloween event? According to Shrugtal, the Halloween event will start on October 22. These skins should be exclusive to the item shop, so if you want to get your hands on them, you’ll have to keep your eyes peeled there. There’s no telling exactly when each skin will be available though, so you’ll have to act fast or you might miss your chance and be left without another chance to get them.

  • Apex Legends Halloween Fight or Fright event: Shadow Royale, Skins, more – Dexerto

Apex Legends Halloween Fight or Fright event: Shadow Royale, Skins, more Respawn EntertainmentIt’s that time of year again, when Halloween comes to gaming, and Respawn are bringing their spooky theme back to Apex Legends. The Fight or Fright event comes with a collection of scary skins, and a new twist on the last year’s Shadowfall LTM, now called Shadow Royale. Just like Warzone’s “Haunting of Verdansk” event, the map will be getting another makeover, and players will get a chance to play as new and improved ‘Shadows’ in the Shadow Royale mode. Last year’s Shadowfall LTM went down a treat: not only did we get to see (and hear) Revenant for the first time, it was a brilliant twist of the standard battle royale gameplay. Also, to make sure you look the part, lots of Halloween-themed skins are coming to the store. Many of them are similar to last year’s though with fresh colors, but there’s also brand new ones for the new Legends that have been added since last October. Fight or Fright Event trailer Shadow Royale LTM In the Shadow Royale mode, players will play as both normal Legends, as well as drop-in as Shadows once eliminated. Shadows are now more deadly than before in some ways, as they can now wallrun and double jump (Titanfall players rejoice). Plus, rather than just playing in Solos, there’s Shadow Squads, where teammates remain as Shadows as long as one Legend remains alive. Then there’s Final Death, when the final Legend dies, all shadows die too. We also see Shadow Prowlers, what role they will play remains to be seen, but they’re attacking the remaining Legends in the trailer. Apex Legends Halloween skins These skins are being dubbed ‘resurrected’, pretty much meaning they are recolors of previous skins from last year’s Fight or Fright event. Eight bundles will be included in total, on a two week rotation. The first set for October 22 – 27: And then the next bundle rotation from October 27 – November 3. Additionally, individual Halloween-themed skins will be available to purchase throughout the event. There’s also a Haunting prize track, which will run for the full two weeks as well. Complete Revenant’s challenges and you’ll unlock these exclusive rewards. The Fight or Fright event runs from Thursday, October 22, to November 3, just in time for the expected launch of Season 7 on November 10.

  • Apex Legends: Halloween Fight or Fright details leaked – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Halloween Fight or Fright details leaked Respawn Entertainment / Shrugtal, TwitterNew data-mined information from the Apex Legends game files, and an achievement already in the game, has uncovered a host of details about Respawn’s upcoming Halloween Fight or Fright seasonal event that Dexerto revealed earlier this week. Apex Legends has just seen the release of Season 3, taking players to a new planet, dropping another character into the title, and generally overhauling much of the fast-paced battle royale’s status quo in regards to weapons and in-game equipment. Now it seems the excitement surrounding the game in October is far from over, after recent data-mined leaks revealed further details regarding Respawn’s upcoming Halloween event. The new information, shared by renowned data-miner Shrugtal on Twitter, confirms the name of the upcoming season event – ‘Fight or Fright’ – and reveals there could potentially be a new map or area titled ‘Shadowfall’ that comes with the themed release. Read more: 10 tips & tricks to help you master Crypto – As well as the names, the leak also had a number of images of upcoming skins related to the event, including themed costumes for new legend Crypto, and old favorites Caustic and Bloodhound. These seem to go hand-in-hand with the ‘Franken-Gibby’ skin leaked in August. While a host of legends may be claiming Halloween skins, it looks like Lifeline fans are set to benefit the most. The newly revealed code also mentions a “Lifeline Heirloom Set” titled ‘Shock Sticks,’ which would see the medic join Wraith and Bloodhound in the exclusive club. According to the code, the ultra-rare set will only be available to unlock for players after “obtaining and unlocking all Fight or Fright Collection Pack cosmetics” during the event. The limited-time event also seems set to bring new enemies into the game, with mention of ‘loot bin spiders’ and ‘zombies’ both being mentioned in the code. These creatures appear tied to certain Halloween missions, which include mandates to kill legends and ‘shadows’ in Shadowfall, as well as escape the dropship. There is also a mysterious objective which asks players to win a game as “both a legend and a shadow.” Read more: Call of Duty‘s Blackout zombies. Now it seems like the horror-filled event is just over the horizon, and no matter if it’s a new area, a PvE event, or mainly cosmetics and costumes, it’s certainly seems like it’s going to be as creepy and as scary as Edgerly first promised. –

  • Apex Legends: All Fight or Fright Halloween event skins leaked – Dexerto

Apex Legends: All Fight or Fright Halloween event skins leaked EALoads of information has been revealed about the Apex Legends Halloween event, called Fight or Fright, and now we have our first look at the plethora of new skins that are on the way. Pathfinder’s voice actor Chris Edgerly confirmed the existence of an Apex Legends Halloween event, and now we’re getting a further look at what’s to come since he couldn’t give us more insight for obvious reasons. Luckily, several leaks have given us a better idea of what to expect and things are looking pretty great from what the data miners have revealed so far. Well-known Apex Legends leaker, That1MiningGuy, found an assortment of Halloween skins for every character in the game, including the brand-new Season 3 addition Crypto. Some are a bit more festive than others and we don’t get the best look at all of them, but we’re sure as the event draws closer, we’ll have a better picture for some of them. One thing fans will be hoping for is for the pricing to not be what it was with the Iron Crown event. Seasonal skins are always popular no matter the game so it’ll be good to see Respawn nail the pricing so fans will be able to pick up some of their favorites without breaking the bank. On top of the skins, we have several other cosmetics that have leaked. We have some glimpses at what appear to be weapon charms that will be coming to the game. It looks like Respawn will be going all out with this event which is good to see. This cute little shit. pic.twitter.com/WlSNrEpdii — That1MiningGuy (@That1MiningGuy) October 3, 2019 The release date for Apex Legends’ Fight or Fright has yet to be announced, though Battle Pass entries are already in the game, so expect it sometime in the month of October.

With new leaks revealing everything from horrifying cosmetics for Revenant and Lifeline, there’s plenty to look forward to. This year’s Halloween-themed skins for Apex Legends have seemingly made their way onto the internet, and with it we now know a lot more about what to expect for the upcoming event. Fitting the seasonal holiday, it looks like the Apex event will have a ‘Monster’ theme, with most of the skins generally adhering to that idea. There are more than just cosmetics though, as holos, banners, and trackers have all shown up as well. Here’s what we know so far. Apex Legends leaked Monster skins There are some fascinating designs amongst this set. While there are usually a few skins in an event that don’t get the same amount of love, the community seems to agree that the leaked Monsters Within skins are all killer, no filler. It’s important to note this is our only look at these right now, so some of them may not make it into the final release. But so far, they’re looking great, and many could wind up being a day-one pickup for lots of players. The monster theme plays really well with Revenant and framing him as a hunting creature like a wolf lines up with the other skins in his arsenal. He’s already has a ‘Bird of Prey’ skin, so why not stack on the fearsome animal metaphors? Bloodhound Monster skin Caustic Monster skin Seer Monster skin Revenant Monster skin Valkyrie Monster skin Horizon Monster skin Loba Monster skin Wraith Monster skin Leaked Halloween event banners and more The banners are just as cool as the skins. Taking inspiration from classic horror films, each of them are incredible homages to posters that would accompany a Halloween thriller. Not every legend has a one-to-one cinematic counterpart or anything, but they are larger than life in the same way that characters on the silver screen tend to be. If all of these leaks hold up, then it’s set to be an exciting event for Apex Legends players. Imagine all the fun you’ll have scaring the life out of opponents when you drop down on them as one of these horrifying new additions.

  • Apex Legends: Halloween event confirmed by Pathfinder voice actor – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Halloween event confirmed by Pathfinder voice actor Respawn EntertainmentFollowing an interview with Chris Edgerly, Dexerto has exclusive details about the upcoming Halloween event for Apex Legends, including a new “creepy” cosmetic overhaul. With Season 3 just around the corner, fans of Apex Legends look on in anticipation, as Respawn Entertainment have implored plenty of effort into building up the hype before the launch of the event on October 1. With Crypto set to make his grand entrance, Legends have been shifted to an entirely new planet as part of the hacking vigilante’s campaign to take-over the battle royale. However, looking ahead to the potential LTMs that will play a part in the impending season, Meltdown will take place over the course of the holiday season, which sets up some intriguing creative opportunities for Respawn Entertainment. Indeed, holiday–themed events prove incredibly lucrative for games such as League of Legends, Overwatch and Fortnite; with their battle royale counterpart reaping the rewards from their ‘Fortnitemares’ event last Fall. In an interview with Dexerto, Edgerly confirmed has that Respawn are jumping on the haunted bandwagon have been working on a Halloween event, where Pathfinder will be playing a larger role in the surrounding story. The voice behind the optimistic MRVN robot explained: “The Halloween event coming up is going to be simply amazing. I recorded some new stuff for a short for it, where Pathfinder has a much bigger role.” Edgerly continued: “They [Respawn] let me ad lib quite a bit so we’ll see what they kept in — and get ready to see some creepy, scary, kick-ass designs. Can’t say any more than that, unfortunately!” The notion of a Halloween event has been leaked previously, with the inclusion of giant spiders set to provide a sinister spin on gameplay within the battle royale. Meltdown’s gameplay trailer included a number of skins that were lapped up by the community, as Lifeline has received a devilish overhaul while Pathfinder appeared White Walker–esque with his icy revamp — hinting at the skins to come in Season 3! This is Respawn’s first venture into the holiday season with Apex Legends, and with the bar raised high from rival titles, the developers will have to pull something out of the bag to ensure that they leave an eerie mist across Kings Canyon and World’s Edge.

  • Apex Legends hackers under threat as Respawn “unleash” new measures – Dexerto

Apex Legends hackers under threat as Respawn “unleash” new measures Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment are ramping up their anti-cheat measures in Apex Legends by expanding their dev team to focus on stopping hackers. 2021 has been the year of hacks in the first-person shooter space, which has been tough viewing for players in multiple games. Warzone’s cheating situation got so bad that players and streamers alike staged a huge boycott of Activision’s game, while hacker providers are already predicting a grim future for Battlefield 2042. For the most part, these hacker issues have not dripped over the Apex Games – though in some regions, the issue has become more apparent than in others. Thankfully for the community, though, the game’s developers have responded with strong action. Big blow for Apex Legends hackers Apex Legends hackers were put on notice on August 26, with Respawn stepping up their security efforts. As reported by Conor Ford on Twitter (who works on the security team at Respawn), the company hired two new security developers, one of which is based in Japan – a region that’s suffered quite a bit with cheaters. • Apex Legends hackers can apparently kick players mid-game – Dexerto

Apex Legends hackers can apparently kick players mid-game Electronic ArtsAccording to pro player HisWattson, Apex Legends hackers have started targeting streamers by kicking them out of matches mid-game. Hacking-related issues have long plagued Apex Legends and countless other popular online games. Earlier this summer, hackers found a way to disconnect players from their matches and leave them in the Firing Range. Streamers have been caught cheating the system this way, as well. A few days ago, in fact, players learned that a Facebook Gaming streamer employed wallhacks to monitor enemy movements. Unfortunately, it appears as though problems of this nature won’t soon come to an end. Apex Legends hackers are targeting popular streamers Over the weekend professional Apex Legends player HisWattson took to Twitter to report an issue wherein they were kicked out of the game upon jumping from the ship. At the time, the player didn’t know if an in-game bugged caused the problem or if someone else was responsible. Not too long thereafter, HisWattson shared a follow-up post that offered some clarification. The user stopped getting booted from the game once they turned off their stream. It would seem, then, that Apex Legends hackers have once more taken to harassing streamers. Presently, there’s no word on if developer Respawn Entertainment is aware of the latest hacking problem. As such, it remains to be seen if and when a fix will go live to address it. Hacking of this nature seems one of those troubles that will continue to beset online games for a long time to come. So far, anti-cheating measures applied to the likes of Apex Legends, Call of Duty, and Rainbow Six: Siege have only done so much to quell the problem.

  • Apex Legends hackers have apparently found new way to avoid bans – Dexerto

Apex Legends hackers have apparently found new way to avoid bans Respawn Entertainment may have executed a massive ban wave in Apex Legends, but hackers are apparently already back causing problems, with a new ‘soft cheating’ method. Respawn hardware ban Apex Legends cheats On April 4, cheaters were in panic mode after hardware ID bans were issued to many, preventing them from simply starting a new account and cheating again. It was a joyous moment for rule-abiding Apex Legends fans, who had become increasingly worn out at the alarming frequency of cheaters in matches, but their joy has been relatively short lived, it seems. Apparently, the hackers are now using a more subtle method of cheating, which renders them pretty much undetectable by the anti-cheat systems in place. Known as ‘soft cheating’, the method is explained as “cheaters reducing their aimbots to levels indiscernible to an anti-cheat algorithm, but obvious enough from the receiving end of it. When spectating them you can see the aimbot locking on, but their cheats give a buffer of missed shots to fool the accuracy counter.” According to a post on the Apex Legends subreddit, this form of cheating is perhaps more ‘problematic’ than when the aimbots were full lock-on machines, as players themselves may not even be aware that they were in fact facing a cheater, and therefore do not report. This method of cheating is also known as using “humanizers”, giving the effect of the play having more human-like aim, with all the flaws that come with natural inaccuracy, all the while they are in fact simply using a hack. This problem of cheating in Apex Legends still seems to be largely focused in Asian servers, which has inevitably led to calls for Chinese players to be region-locked. However, Respawn have stated that region-locking China wouldn’t be a simple process, because the game isn’t actually officially available in China, meaning players are using a VPN to access it, muddling their location. The last figure made public was that over 350,000 Apex Legends cheats have been banned, and there have undoubtedly been plenty more since, but Respawn will need to continue to fight against the plague of hackers, for the long term well-being of the game.

  • Apex Legends hackers exposed as the same people behind Titanfall attacks – Dexerto

Apex Legends hackers exposed as the same people behind Titanfall attacks Respawn EntertainmentIn a bizarre twist, a group of so-called Titanfall fans have been accused of being behind the ‘Save Titanfall’ hack in Apex Legends, despite claiming it had nothing to do with them. These same individuals are also accused of being responsible for destroying Titanfall 2, in an attempt to revive ‘Titanfall Online.’ The Titanfall series, and more recently, Apex Legends, have been targeted by hackers and DoS’ers repeatedly, making the Titanfall games largely unplayable for long periods of time. Although there has always been confusion about who was responsible, most believed a solitary figure known as ‘Jeanue’ was to blame. While this might be the case for Titanfall 1, a series of Discord messages published in a long exposé on the Save Titanfall website reveals that a different group was behind the Titanfall 2 attacks, as well as Apex Legends. Apex hackers ‘exposed’ YouTuber Upper Echelon posted a video over 20 minutes in length on August 6, explaining the full situation. It is alleged that a Titanfall community member called ‘p0358’ was colluding with other members of the Discord group ‘Remnant Fleet’ to keep the Titanfall games “dead.” Their motivation was to convince Respawn to hire them or hand over control of the servers to revive a canceled project called Titanfall Online. Discord messages between users p0358, RedShield, DogeCore, and Mr Steyk, appear to show them discussing the ‘operation Titanfall’ attack, which took place on July 4 in Apex Legends. Messages show RedShield, the admin of the Remnant Fleet Discord, discussing the Apex ‘publicity stunt’ as early as February 2021. Later, after the hack, p0358 and RedShield tried to make very clear that they had nothing to do with the Apex Legends hack, This same user was then quoted in a Eurogamer article about the hack, in which they outright request that Respawn give them more control over the Titanfall servers. “I ask that Respawn solves the issue permanently by giving us access and control over the Titanfall 1 servers, with permission to moderate, to ban users, and, if I can be so bold, to even mod the game,” they said. Notably, p0358 – who has now been exposed as part of this hacking group – posted a “solution” to fix Titanfall on July 27. They claimed this was an easy fix Respawn could use, and once again brought up the idea of being hired. Some users even tipped them via PayPal for this work. The Titanfall community heaped praise on this “solution” and its creator – but it appears they were hoodwinked by the very person behind the hacks in the first place, something that a few did in fact predict. The group also appears to have been behind an attack on an Apex Legends tournament, targeting pro players who “deserve” it for “bitching about Respawn looking into Titanfall.” Adding fuel to the fire, the Titanfall subreddit has removed one of its moderators, who was also exposed by the SaveTitanfall website as being supportive of the attacks, and helping push p0358’s post on the subreddit. “As a result of the evidence we’ve been provided, the moderators of r/titanfall have removed u/hiticonic from the moderation team and are currently investigating,” the subreddit mods said. RedShield responds In a Discord message following the allegations, RedShield, admin of Remnant Fleet, said that the “article took stuff out of context to slander us,” and “If anyone wants to send me some screenshots from the listings to my DM’s, I’ll be more than happy to offer up context to them. There’s just a lot of them for me to sift through, and I think this might help clear our name.” This is a bizarre twist in the tale of Titanfall’s woes, which, right now, is currently playable. Perhaps the usual suspects are caught up with other matters at the moment.

  • Apex Legends hackers complain about hardware bans – Dexerto

Apex Legends hackers complain about hardware bans Respawn Entertainment is doing a good job of cleaning up Apex Legends hackers but the hackers are actually getting upset after being banned. Apex Legends launched in early February and was met with a lot of excitement by fans of the battle royale genre. It represented a nice change of pace from other BR titles on the market such as Fortnite and PUBG. Another key selling point was the fact it is free of charge. Despite this, Apex Legends has a rather sizable cheating problem on its hands and Respawn is still trying to get the situation under control. In a post on Reddit from February, it was confirmed that over 16,000 cheaters have been banned from Apex Legends so far and that number likely grows larger each day. Now, it appears some of those that have been banned are actually surprised when they create new accounts they still aren’t able to play Apex Legends. This Reddit thread talks about players on a cheat related forum where banned cheaters were surprised to see they had been hardware banned. “Every new account they make on the same machine is banned in less than 30 minutes,” it reads. “There are ways around this, but the more amateur cheaters are not able to work around this. I am hopeful that the amount of cheaters will begin to plummet very soon. Another thread showed a screenshot of another probable cheater essentially saying they had exhausted all of their options to play again to no avail. It appears that whatever Respawn has been doing has been having a strong effect on potential cheaters. Players are expressing happiness to this news as this would likely mean the number of cheaters will be going down over the coming months. Now is a good time for Respawn to crack down on this as the Season 1 Battle Pass will be releasing some time later this month.

  • Apex Legends hackers can now kidnap players from their matches – Dexerto

Apex Legends hackers can now kidnap players from their matches Respawn EntertainmentIt now appears Apex Legends hackers can disconnect players from their matches and add them to a Firing Range, effectively kidnapping them from their lobby. As with any multiplayer FPS, Apex Legends suffers from players who use third-party software to gain an unfair advantage over their opponents. While hacks come in a variety of forms, the most common are definitely aimbots and wallhacks. Despite this, some of the most damaging hacks are related to Respawn’s servers, with DDoS attacks capable of crashing an entire lobby in a matter of seconds. Well, unfortunately, it appears a new server-related cheat has been discovered, and although it doesn’t involve freezing matches, it does allow hackers to kidnap players. Apex cheaters are kidnapping players out of their matches On July 20, Twitch streamer camms was in the middle of an Apex Legends match playing Wraith on Storm Point when something extremely strange happened. Suddenly, they were hit with a loading screen transferring them to the Firing Range, despite not queuing for the mode in the lobby. When they arrived another player was waiting for them and simply typed “owned” in the chat, suggesting they were the cheater who activated the kidnapping. Camms was obviously completely puzzled about what had just happened and immediately posted the clip on Twitter. While it’s hard to know how the hacker managed to pull a specific player out of a match, it’s definitely concerning. This cheat or exploit could be used to prevent someone from climbing in Ranked or even against pro players at the top level. Respawn will definitely need to investigate this issue and as the Head of Security Conor ‘Hideouts’ Ford has already been tagged, they’re likely aware of the issue.

  • Apex Legends hacker brags that Respawn can’t catch them, gets banned anyway – Dexerto

Apex Legends hacker brags that Respawn can’t catch them, gets banned anyway Respawn EntertainmentTaunting a game’s developer by claiming you’re an unbannable cheater isn’t going to land you in anyone’s good books – yet it’s exactly what one Apex Legends streamer decided to do live on air. How is Respawn combatting Apex Legends cheaters? Respawn Entertainment recently sent out a ban wave to a number of players who had been using exploits in their popular battle royale, banning a whole load of new accounts. While some may have slipped through the cracks, and ended up wrecking popular players like Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek live on-stream, others decided to hilariously taunt Respawn’s capabilities to ban players while the developer and fans watched on. Breaking down the ironic twist While the VOD of the stream had been deleted, one intrepid Reddit user, SaladinsSaladbar, gave readers a blow-by-blow rundown of the action that they had missed – including back-to-back bans for the braggadocios streamer. During the play-by-play breakdown, the Reddit user detailed just how much time and effort the streamer put into trying to avoid a ban, while claiming not to care all that much about what happened to their accounts. Yet, it wasn’t an all too successful strategy as the streamer ended up receiving a ban twice in a ten minute period, before ultimately walking away from the game and deciding to broadcast some other content. Respawn devs respond One Respawn developer, posting under the Reddit username ‘lowkeydbjosh’ took credit for the continuous shutdowns of the hacker, stating: “This is how I spent 45 mins this morning,” with a waving emoji attached. While other users tried to thank them for their hard work, they instead turned the credit onto the players. “Nah, this was thanks to you guys bringing these type of folks to the spotlight. Helps us clean up the game faster,” added lowkeydbjosh. While Respawn are doing their utmost to prevent players with exploits washing over their game, there are always going to be users who get their hands on ways to cheat and ruin matches. Read More: Another stuffed puppy found in Apex Legends – Yet, it seems like they are at least on top of a few rogue users – especially those who try their best to flaunt their blatant cheating in the face of the developer.

  • Apex Legends hacker gets instant karma live on Twitch stream – Dexerto

Apex Legends hacker gets instant karma live on Twitch stream Hackers have plagued Apex Legends in recent weeks, however, one cheater got exactly what they deserved live on Twitch, after ruining the match for his opponents. Respawn Entertainment introduced the game back in February 2019 and no-one expected the new battle royale to explode in popularity as it did. As with every big game, players looked to gain an unfair advantage over their opponents and hackers were extremely prevalent for a number of weeks which turned the experience sour for many. The developer has actively sought to crack down on the number of cheaters, revealing that a staggering number of players have either have their account banned or suspended as a result of their actions. Unfortunately, cheaters are still finding ways to bypass the anti-cheat system that Respawn has put into place which Twitch streamer, Nice Wigg, found out the hard way. After watching his two teammates be knocked almost instantly, the player with the name ‘Lasering Everyone’ eliminated the streamer taking their kill total to 17 which made Twitch chat suspect he was cheating. “That kid was good dude,” Wigg said. “17 kills?! Do you think he’s cheating? Let’s watch.” Apex Legends cheater suffers a humiliating death Wigg continued to watch the hacker to confirm his suspicions and got more than he bargained for after watching the player pick up another two eliminations. The hacker hid in a corner to heal up before looting his downed foes only to realize that his character model had become stuck despite his best efforts to get out. Wigg couldn’t contain his excitement screaming: “He can’t get out! He’s stuck! […] Karma is a bitch!” While in this instance the cheater got what he deserved, hackers remain one of the biggest issues currently facing the team Respawn Entertainment. Additional ways to remove cheaters are confirmed to be on the way so hopefully, the problem is eradicated sooner rather later.

  • Apex Legends hacker gets embarrassed by “world’s simplest” play – Dexerto

Apex Legends hacker gets embarrassed by “world’s simplest” play Respawn EntertainmentHave you ever wondered how to counter a hacker in Apex Legends? The answer might be as simple as letting them take care of it themselves, as one cheater accidentally demonstrated how easy it is to get embarrassed by smarter players. While hackers in Apex Legends are notoriously hard to kill even in the most lopsided fights, it turns out that letting them outplay themselves might be the best solution on the table. No matter how good a player’s aim is, it can’t compensate for every mistake they make on the map, and this clip is proof of why both talent and intelligence are necessary to succeed even if you’re cheating. Apex Legends hacker gets embarrassed by simple outplay The video comes from Ameen32, who was paired up with the alleged cheater in a World’s Edge Duos match. According to them, the speedster had demonstrated some sketchy behavior on their way to the end of a 16-kill game. When the final fight starts, the player in question hits some impressive shots onto an enemy Legend, but isn’t quite able to finish the job. The other player takes advantage of a nearby jump pad to get away and the hacker decided to follow him up. This turns out to be the wrong decision, as the jump pad is facing out into the storm at an angle where climbing up out of the lava below is impossible, effectively eliminating any chance of survival. In response to the clip, one user roasted the hacker for failing to close out the game on their own: “This is funny on a whole new level, like imagine being so trash at the game that you can’t even win with hacks.” Another commenter joked that the Octane wasn’t hacking, he was simply taking advantage of the game’s mechanics as intended: “Nah, they’re on console, can’t you see the aim assist?” While Respawn have been cracking down on all types of cheaters in Season 11, these kinds of interactions are happening far too often for fans’ liking. One frustrated fan suggested that even the funniest hacker clips represent a low point for the game: “I love seeing a cheater get their just desserts, but the sheer amount of these clips is just depressing man…”

  • Apex Legends hacker couldn’t counter this player’s high-IQ strategy – Dexerto

Apex Legends hacker couldn’t counter this player’s high-IQ strategy EAApex Legends has a hacking epidemic of sorts on PC but that doesn’t mean they can’t be defeated, as one squad of crafty players demonstrated with an incredible country strategy. One side effect of being a highly popular free battle royale title is you’ll get a lot of cheaters and hackers trying to ruin the experience of other players. While this is a problem that Apex Legends has been experiencing on PC for quite some time, it looks as though some players have come up with a way to fight back against the hackers. Here’s the perfect counter to an Apex Legends hacker In a video uploaded to YouTube by TesservcT, the crafty squad dealt with a hacker in one of the best ways possible – by avoiding them completely. The strategy involved hoarding medkits and other healing items in a pile and just outliving the hacker at the end. They knew they wouldn’t be able to fight the hacker head on, so healing through the storm was the only option and it actually ended up working. While this isn’t a strategy that will always work, we do see that it can be the perfect counter to a suspected hacker or cheater. Hackers run rampant in Apex Legends Respawn Entertainment, the developers of Apex Legends, have been hard at work tracking down these cheaters and getting them banned from the game. Hundreds of thousands of accounts have been banned, with some even receiving a hardware ban to truly try and limit their ability to ruin the experience for other players ever again. However, Respawn can’t get them all so sometimes you’ll have to deal with one in your game and with some slick plays, you might even be able to pull out the victory. Still, it’s a widespread problem that Respawn have been working to remedy ever since the game launched in February. If you ever come across a hacker, the new in-game report feature should come in handy and give Respawn some help nailing down the pesky hackers once and for all.

  • Apex Legends hacker claims ALGS hacks were “just for fun” – Dexerto

Apex Legends hacker claims ALGS hacks were “just for fun” Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends hacker Destroyer2009 revealed in an interview their motives behind the recent ALGS hacks were “just for fun,” but to also point out Respawn’s vulnerabilities. Apex Legends was recently hit with a hack that cast doubt on the games’ security as two pro players were given hacks against their own will in the middle of an ALGS tournament. Several days after the incident, the hacker, known as Destroyer2009, has gone on record to talk about his motives and why he interrupted one of the biggest events of the year. Apex Legends hacker Destroyer2009 reveals why he hacked ALGS Finals Speaking to TechCrunch in an interview, Destroyer2009 took credit for the hacks and said he was doing it “just for fun”, but also to force Respawn to fix vulnerabilities he exploited in Apex Legends. Destroyer didn’t reveal how he pulled off the hack, as he wanted to wait until “everything is fully patched and goes back to normal” before doing so. Although, he teased that the vulnerability had nothing to do with anything outside of Apex. According to the hacker, it “has nothing to do with the server and I’ve never touched anything outside of the Apex process.” Adding that he never hacked the players’ computers directly, only through the game. Destroyer argued that his hacks on ALGS were never meant to be malicious, rather, intentionally approached it in an “innocent way for players. “Just imagine if it wasn’t a joke and we didn’t put any memes in the cheat, I’m pretty sure you can ruin someone’s career if they had a cheat pop up on a tournament.” As for why he didn’t privately approach Respawn or EA about the exploit, Destroyer said it’s because they don’t financially reward hackers or researchers for privately reporting security flaws. Despite the worrying issues that Destroyer exposed, Respawn has already addressed the hacks, rolling out a new suite of security updates to curb the exploit, with the first of several updates going out on March 19.

  • Apex Legends hackers are now cheating with dual-wield weapons – Dexerto

Apex Legends hackers are now cheating with dual-wield weapons Respawn EntertainmentA new Apex Legends hack has found a way to dual-wield weapons, including SMGs, wreaking havoc in matches and confusing the game’s community. Apex Legends is certainly no stranger to the world of hacks and exploits. From game-breaking hacks that give players full armor to weapon exploits that increase their lethality, there are always new cheats and bugs being discovered by the playerbase. However, the latest hack that has caught the attention of Apex Legends players is the dual wield P2020 hack. While dual wielding has been replicated in the game’s modded servers, Respawn has yet to officially add this mechanic. Despite this, Apex Legends hackers have managed to add this functionality to live matches. Apex Legends dual wield hack discovered During a ranked Apex Legends game, one player discovered that their killer was equipped with two P2020s. This obviously came as a huge surprise, especially given that dual wielding is currently not present in the game. Read More: Apex Legends update 1.89 patch notes – While the clip appears to show the hacker gunning down their enemies with akimbo pistols. Making matters worse, the hacker uses their aimbot to quickly gun down opponents. It’s obviously one of the strangest visual hacks in the game and one that replicates a mechanic players have wanted for a while. Whether Respawn will ever add dual wielding to Apex Legends remains to be seen, but for now, it looks like hackers have been able to replicate this mechanic. Since this clip, a number of other examples have been spotted, also including players dual-wielding with the Wingman and R99. On top of this, the hackers are able to heal while firing one weapon, essentially dual-wielding a weapon and healing item. Those who wish to dual wield Apex Legends weapons fairly will need to patiently wait for the devs to introduce it officially, or hop on the R5Reloaded server – a moddable version of Apex Legends.

  • Apex Legends hacker can’t control speed, falls off map – Dexerto

Apex Legends hacker can’t control speed, falls off map Numerous hackers and cheaters plague Apex Legends despite Respawn’s best efforts to clean up the game. Going into the start of Season 1 of Apex Legends there’s still a very noticeable problem with hackers in the game. In a Reddit post from February, it was confirmed that over 16,000 cheaters have been banned from Apex Legends so far and that number likely grows larger each day as the game gains popularity. If you’ve been playing since the launch of Apex Legends in February then it’s pretty likely you’ve run into at least one hacker during your playtime. While there wasn’t anything you could do about it then, you might take pleasure in this clip showing a hacker getting a taste of their own medicine. In the Reddit clip below, uploaded by user RockyGrenade, the hacker eliminates a player by zipping across the map but makes one crucial error after that. Once the hacker deals the damage to the downed player they go to zoom away but accidentally take a step too far right off the edge of the map and into the water below to their death. It is a little strange to see a hacker go down like this but who knows, maybe speed hacks take a little while to get used to. An important thing to note is these speed hackers and other cheaters who get banned from the game are reportedly gone for good. Recently, there have been hackers who have complained about receiving hardware bans and when they try to make new accounts they still can’t play. Just remember, if you plan on cheating in Apex Legends you might have to play the ultimate price.

  • Apex Legends hacker banned mid-match amid Respawn anti-cheat upgrades – Dexerto

Apex Legends hacker banned mid-match amid Respawn anti-cheat upgrades Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have been reporting a higher number of live bans in the game than usual and it has the community hopeful that Respawn’s commitment to an improved anti-cheat system is paying off. Respawn Entertainment’s anti-cheat efforts in Apex have long been a topic of contention in the community. The major tipping point was back in Season 9 when the dev team promised some serious upgrades to the game’s security measures to prevent cheating from happening, and it seemed to culminate back in August with the addition of two new hires to the game’s security team. While the difference may have been negligible at first, a new clip has players sharing their recent experience with live bans and how the tides seem to be turning against the hackers more and more often in Season 11. Apex Legends cheater’s live ban shows anti-cheat improvements The cheater in question takes on a few fights towards the end of the game, hitting some unbelievably tough shots as they decimate a good portion of the lobby. After clearing their 16th kill, wixy is disconnected from the lobby without a moment’s notice. The difference between a regular disconnect and a ban is easy to spot, as a ban registers instantaneously on the server whereas a player whose connection has been interrupted will either stand stock-still or repeat the same input that was happening when the problem arose. One commenter confirmed Cobbo’s suspicion about this being a punishment for the hacker: “I think so cos I had a teammate that was clearly cheating and I reported him and it happened just like that.” Another user shared a story about how Apex’s Security Lead Conor “Hideouts” Ford is actively working to keep the game safe: “I was watching Bullet play ranked a few nights ago, he died to a 2 stack of cheaters and one getting boosted. He clipped it and send it to hideouts, within 5 minutes they were banned mid-game. Funny s**t to see.” While hacking certainly won’t go away overnight, the steady efforts of Respawn could net them a big victory in the long run.

  • Apex Legends hacker gets banned mid-match after cheating against TSM Viss – Dexerto

Apex Legends hacker gets banned mid-match after cheating against TSM Viss An Apex Legends hacker got what he deserved after facing TSM Viss earlier in the game, as he was banned with only one opposing player remaining in the match. After bursting onto the battle royale scene in February, Apex Legends exploded in popularity, rivalling the likes of Fortnite. However, Respawn Entertainment has been faced with a massive problem that has plagued the game in recent weeks, with an influx of hackers bypassing their anti-cheat system to gain an unfair advantage on the battlefield. Even professional players such as Team SoloMid’s Colton ‘Viss’ Vinnier have encountered these players in game. While playing with a random squad, Viss noticed one user in particular racking up an absurd number of eliminations. Read More: How to bunny hop in Apex Legends – After being downed by a player, the former PUBG pro was unable to save his fallen team-mates from a team he suspected of hacking before another cheater arrived to clean up the kills. Viss decided to spectate the hacker with the username ‘mr-DaShXian’ to see whether he was indeed cheating. His suspicions were confirmed when the player easily downed two of the final remaining players – trolling their knocked bodies with only one legend alive. The TSM member joked that he hoped Respawn was watching his stream to get the player banned, although it may well have been true. Amazingly, he got his wish as the player froze before being booted offline much to the amusement of Viss and his Twitch chat. “Tell me his ass get banned – tell me Respawn is watching,” he said before watching the player disconnect. “Oh my god – get fucked!” Respawn are doing everything they can to remove hackers from their game while also aiming to bring the long-awaited season one battle pass to their players as soon as possible.

  • Respawn rush out Apex Legends update to counter hacker’s “Save Titanfall” DDoS attacks – Dexerto

Respawn rush out Apex Legends update to counter hacker’s “Save Titanfall” DDoS attacks A serious hack was recently deployed against Apex Legends – but not to cheat or win games. Instead, the hacker created a new playlist name, sending players to a website about saving Titanfall. Within 24 hours, Respawn was able to deploy a fix and restore matchmaking. Titanfall, primarily the first game but Titanfall 2 to a lesser extent, has been plagued by DDoS attacks preventing anyone from playing the game. The problem has been ongoing for over two years. Respawn have posted messages explaining that they are working to fix the problem, but so far, no long-term solutions have been identified. As a result, a vigilante hacker took over Apex Legends on July 4, with a series of messages pointing players to a website dedicated to “saving Titanfall.” ‘Save Titanfall’ hack on Apex Legends Players started noticing the messages on the morning of Sunday, July 4. The name of the playlist was updated, claiming that it was a ‘new mode available.’ The playlist itself was renamed to ‘SAVETITANFALL.COM | BRUH’, and was accompanied by the message “TF1 is being attacked so is Apex.” As one clip shows, players were unable to queue up for other game modes at all. ApexLegends #ApexLegends 🔗 https://t.co/fy468gVHEZ pic.twitter.com/NctpKCI68M — 😪 (@YungLucianOG) July 4, 2021 Additionally, players were also greeted by an ‘Important Message’ at the end of games, instructing them to visit and repost the website. The website in question, savetitanfall.com, stated: “Titanfall is a beloved franchise by many, and hacker issues have been at rise. The Titanfall community has been begging Respawn to fix this issue for over three years, but to no avail. Today this game is still being sold, while being completely unplayable. It’s time we speak up.” The website also alleged that selling Titanfall in its current state “without fixing the different issues and ignoring their customers is an act of fraud.” Read More: Who is Seer in Apex Legends? – “Nowhere on the Origin or Steam store listings does it say that the game is unplayable, and from the reviews, you can see that many people met the same fate of buying an unplayable game.” In May, Respawn said they were “aware” of the hacking issues in Titanfall, and were investigating. Respawn’s director of comms, Ryan Rigney, has said that they have spoken with some of the hackers and simply asked them to stop. However, Respawn is in a constant battle, taking “weeks of work” to address “each new stupid thing” that the hackers do to ruin the classic FPS game. https://twitter.com/RKRigney/status/1397211924186677249 Respawn responds to DDOS attack Respawn first responded to the incident hours later on Twitter. What began as a simple ‘investigation’ into the situation at hand, took more than six hours of hard work to resolve. The devs quickly worked on a fix to restore matchmaking to its original form, without the hacked playlist. After various tests, a server update began to roll out at 6PM PT on July 4. “We’ve confirmed that matchmaking has been restored,” confirmed Respawn an hour later, once the patch had hit servers around the world. We’ve confirmed that matchmaking has been restored. We’re keeping an eye on things but believe the issue to be resolved. Thanks for your patience, Legends. — Respawn (@Respawn) July 5, 2021 For now, Apex Legends should be working as intended. However, the devs are continuing to monitor the situation for any lingering effects of the hack.

  • Apex Legends continues to grow as active players skyrocket leading into Season 12 – Dexerto

Apex Legends continues to grow as active players skyrocket leading into Season 12 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has only continued to grow in 2021 with total players skyrocketing well above 100 million leading into Season 12. With EA confirming nearly 30 million new players signing up in the last year, the publisher is confident that number will only rise. Apex Legends has managed to defy the “dead game” meme, and in 2021 it turned the narrative around. With streamers flocking to the battle royale title from Warzone, the Apex Games experienced booming player growth. EA CEO Andrew Wilson stated on a February 1 earnings call that Apex Legends’ monthly active player base has increased by 30% across the last 12 months. This was estimated at around 28 million new players joining in the last year, with overall engagement “now well over 100 million players” according to Wilson. However, EA only expects that to grow as the team works on more ways of reaching new players through both ALGS and the highly-anticipated mobile launch, which is entering beta soon. “We are expanding to reach more players and viewers with new original content on the way. Our growing Apex Legends esports ecosystem and Apex Legends Mobile will soon be moving into soft launch as we continue our worldwide rollout,” Wilson said. “We’ve had strong engagement and community feedback during Closed Beta testing, and we’re excited for more players to experience Apex Legends Mobile soon.” The increase in active players has also lined EA’s pockets with revenue nearing $1 billion a year on the battle royale. As for future growth in 2022 and beyond, the publisher is confident in Respawn’s approach for seasonal releases to grab the attention of new players for the years to come. “I think that what the Apex team in particular have been able to demonstrate is they work very closely with their community, they’re deeply engaged with their community,” Wilson stated. “What we’ve seen since the very beginning of the launch of this game is them being able to work in a very calculated way around the delivery of really interesting new content, new maps, and new modalities of play on a season-by-season basis, that has continued to grow the overall player base, [and] continued to grow the overall experience.” Respawn will be looking to continue that upwards trajectory with Apex Legends Season 12, which is set to launch on February 8, 2022 with new legend Mad Maggie, the Control game mode, and major changes to Olympus.

  • Apex Legends grenades are completely broken after System Override update – Dexerto

Apex Legends grenades are completely broken after System Override update Respawn EntertainmentMany Apex Legends players were really looking forward to the System Override event, but it appears that grenades are actually completely broken since the update went live. Respawn Entertainment rolled out a number of new features as part of the patch, including the introduction of Evo Shields and a Deja Loot game mode, although issues regarding thrown explosives seem to be mounting as the days go by. Multiple bugs have been discovered, all involving the standard grenade, leaving members of the community no choice but to post details of the problems on Reddit in an attempt to see if developers will spot it and roll out a hotfix. The glitches do appear to be quite varied, too, but we’re going to run through three major ones that need to be fixed urgently. The first can be seen below and was posted by user IamNanoss, who discovered that sometimes they can just disappear right in front of your eyes in Apex Legends. After finding themselves in a close-range battle with an enemy, the player spots a grenade on the floor and is about to pick it up before it disappears in plain sight – which is clearly going to be a problem for those wanting to stock up on them. It’s unclear as to how effective picking grenades up would be anyway, as Redditor ostrich_fondlerer showed that if they’re not vanishing on the floor, they can also go missing from the HUD screen and are unable to be selected. This doesn’t seem to be specifically something to this user, as another posted in the thread: “Dude I thought I was going crazy. Went into a 3 squad final fight and started mashing my right d-pad button and died because of this.” For those who are lucky enough to do the legwork and eventually get a grenade in their legend’s hands, however, there’s also a third bug that might be the worst of the lot. This one prevents players from throwing grenades after exiting a zipline – rendering them pretty much useless in some cases since the System Override update went live. According to the game’s official Trello board, where devs usually post about things being investigated in-game and respond to bugs by noting them for future patches, there is no indication that a fix is on the way for these problems any time soon. In terms of how much longer grenades will be impacted by these bugs in-game, that question hasn’t been answered just yet. Once Respawn announces a fix, though, we’ll be the first to let you know. Until then, it’s probably a good call to stay clear of the explosives for the time being.

  • Apex Legends Grand Soirée update completely breaks respawn beacons – Dexerto

Apex Legends Grand Soirée update completely breaks respawn beacons EAApex Legends’ Grand Soirée Arcade Event update brought a ton of changes to weapons and characters, while also breaking a critical component to the Apex Games – respawn beacons. With Season 3 winding down, players were looking ahead to what Respawn might have in-store for Season 4. Scheduled to kick-off on Apex Legends’ one-year anniversary, Season 4 is arguably the most anticipated one yet. Before players get stuck into Season 4, they have Pathfinder’s Grand Soirée event to grind. Having brought a wealth of new formal cosmetics and a bunch of game modes for players to dabble in, players have been treated to a grand means of seeing out Season 3. Respawn’s beacons are broken Given that Apex Legends was the first to pave the way for respawn beacons in the battle royale genre, they have become a staple to the Apex Games. Yet despite Respawn’s efforts to see out Season 3 in style, their latest update has inadvertently broken respawn beacons, leaving players completely baffled. Posted to the Apex Legends subreddit, user ‘Rodneyrobotic’ highlighted the issue while attempting to receive two fallen teammates. As showcased in the Reddit user’s clip, the player attempted to deliver both their squadmate’s banners to the respawn beacon. After completing the animation, however, the players remained in limbo. The player subsequently attempted to bring back their allies for a second and third time, only to be greeted with the same outcome. Whether the issue is exclusive to certain respawn beacons on World’s Edge, remains elusive. More issues on the horizon? Alongside being unable to revive eliminated allies, players are also reporting a glitch where they cannot self-revive when they have the Legendary Knockdown Shield equipped. As underscored in the clip, the player almost manages to complete the self-revive process, before appearing to be abruptly reset. Moreover, players are also outlining an issue with sprinting, where their character intermittently stops mid-sprint: “My sprint randomly stops every, like, 3 seconds. Also, this same thing happens when trying to revive downed teammates too. It just stops and you have to start all over.” Despite multiple accounts of similar issues, a fix is yet to surface on the Apex Legends Tracker. Of course, Respawn will be keeping a close eye on feedback. So it’s likely only a matter of time before a hotfix is pushed live.

  • Apex Legends Grand Soirée Arcade event update – full patch notes – Dexerto

Apex Legends Grand Soirée Arcade event update – full patch notes Respawn EntertainmentAs Season 3 of Apex Legends enters its final few weeks, Respawn are going out with a bang, adding many highly requested modes and lots of new content for the Grand Soirée Arcade event. While past events have typically just added one new mode, such as the Shadowfall LTM in the Fight or Fright event, this time around they will be adding a total of seven new modes. Of course, this would be far too many to have at once, so each mode will be available for two days, before they are rotated out for the next one. There will also be event-exclusive challenges, which will grant players Arcade points to earn rewards. This event is all about Pathfinder too, who gets his own suave skin, but every Legend in the game is also getting some new fresh new outfits. Check out all the skins we know of so far here. When is the Grand Soirée Arcade event update? The patch will go live on PS4, Xbox One and PC on January 14, and ends on January 28. Typically, these updates go live at 10AM PT / 1pm ET / 6PM GMT, but sometimes delays can occur on certain platforms. In addition to the new content and the event itself, Respawn are also making some much-needed improvements and bug fixes. There’s a lot to work through ahead of the launch of Season 4, but the developers have already confirmed a number of fixes that are on the way. There’s also an overhaul to the challenge system, with the new ‘prize track’ system instead. Each of the seven LTMs will have three challenges, worth a total of 1000 Arcade points. Respawn explain that they’ve “tuned the system so that you don’t need to be there every day.” Grand Soirée Arcade Event patch notes You are cordially invited to two weeks of refined mayhem. We are pleased to offer fresh game modes every two days, from golden oldies to exotic new additions. Partake in a rollicking event prize track, earn exquisite rewards, and peruse the event shop for an array of Art Deco inspired cosmetics and outfits. Dress code: Formal Skins. Wraith will now move at their combined movement speed when they are both activated. – Increased cooldown for Into the Void: 25 seconds -> 35 seconds. – Crypto Drone and EMP improvements. – Surveillance Drone increased the health 1 -> 30. – EMP no longer affects friendly traps/deployables. – EMP no longer slows friendlies. – Extended Energy Mags removed – HAVOC mag size: 32 – Devotion mag size: 44 – Designer notes: We know that the removal of energy mags seems a bit odd, but it will make much more sense with the release of Season 4! It takes a while to make the bigger changes you see in the new season updates, and we generally make sure to filter out these changes from preceding mid-season updates. This time we made a mistake and shipped a change that wasn’t intended to go live until Season 4. This feature is limited to approved partners and allows them to arrange private player matches, record live footage via game client spectators, and view match results. Our goal here is to provide great tools for tournament organizers for setting up teams and matches at events and a better spectating experience for fans.

  • Apex Legends devs reveal reason for weapon changes in v1.1.1 patch – Dexerto

Apex Legends devs reveal reason for weapon changes in v1.1.1 patch Respawn made extensive changes to weapons in Apex Legends patch v1.1.1 – and now the developers of the hit battle royale have explained who inspired them to improve them. The major Apex Legends patch that was released on April 16 brought a variety of changes, including buffs to Gibraltar and Caustic, along with numerous weapon changes. It was the fans! Yes, according to a Respawn developer, the variety of changes, including buffs to Gibraltar and Caustic, along with numerous weapon changes, came following constructive feedback in the Reddit community. Reddit user andrekesh applauded the changes made to gold weapon attachments, which include the Havok, R301 and Wingman getting additional attachments, calling them the best part of the patch. In his post, he even circled the changes that Respawn had made as a result of fan feedback, showing his excitement. Reddit directly influenced the changes Jason Garza, Respawn Community Coordinator who goes by Garza_RSPN on Reddit, replied to the thread saying the team does read and listen to constructive feedback but don’t always have time to respond to everything. “We may not always be able to respond to threads and replies,” he wrote. “But we all do listen, read, and watch here at the studio when it comes to constructive feedback. This change was because of good feedback here in the Reddit forums. Hope you enjoy it.” Gibraltar received a buff with Apex Legends v1.1.1. With more titles moving to the “games as a service” method player feedback is key since these are games that are actively developed and have the ability to change weekly. Apex Legends doesn’t receive as many changes as players see with Fortnite, so when they come it is a massive deal. Players might not always agree with the frequency of the updates, but when they come, they are well received.

  • Apex Legends Golden Week sale adds new Legendary skins – Dexerto

Apex Legends Golden Week sale adds new Legendary skins Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends’ Golden Week sale is scheduled to go live on April 26 with the weekly store reset, but a mistake from the devs accidentally activated the sale early. While there are plenty of cosmetics in Apex Legends available for players to craft with Materials on the Legend menu, most of the exclusive skins are only available to purchase for a limited time in the store. To keep the rotation fresh, Respawn conducts a store reset once a week on a Tuesday, and sometimes, these even introduce brand new skins or recolors. On April 26 the Golden Week sale has gone live, and it includes new Legendary skins for Horisone, Wraith and Rampart. All skins coming in Apex Legends Golden Week sale The Golden Week sale is set to kick off in the Apex Legends store on April 26 at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET / 6 pm UK. Despite this, players noticed that the store event had kicked off early on April 25. However, there was only one skin available, and that was the new Rising Storm Legendary Horizon skin. It’s safe to say this confused a lot of the community, but it appears a mistake was made by the devs with the timing and the sale wasn’t meant to kick off early. Now, all the skins are available in-game, with cosmetics for Valkyrie, Horizon, Pathfinder, Caustic, and more, so let’s run down the full list: Flux Capacity (Horizon) – Omatsuri Fury (Valkyrie) – Bestfriend (Pathfinder) – Tiger Blood (Caustic) – Sly Fox (Rampart) – Demon Within (Wraith) – Rising Storm (Horizon) – With a brand new Horizon skin and an array of classic cosmetics from the past, it’s definitely worth picking up a skin or bundle in the Golden Week sale. Remember, the store event will conclude on May 3 so make sure you pick up a skin before that date or you’ll miss out.

  • Apex Legends Gold players mock “terrible” matchmaking as ALGS Predators destroy them – Dexerto

Apex Legends Gold players mock “terrible” matchmaking as ALGS Predators destroy them Respawn EntertainmentA set of Gold Apex Legends players have voiced their frustration after being destroyed by a squad of ALGS Predators in Ranked. Season 13 of Apex Legends has received an overwhelming amount of praise since arriving on May 10, with Newcastle and the Storm Point map changes being among the highlights. However, one aspect of Saviors that has been hit with major criticism is Ranked Reloaded, as a lot of players feel as if the competitive mode is now less fun and unfairly balanced. The primary complaint from the community is the disparity of skill levels in lobbies, with countless Silver, Gold, and Platinum players being matched up against Masters and Predators. Well, one Gold squad has proven how poor the matchmaking has become in Season 13 by showcasing their experience with an ALGS Predator squad in their Ranked match. Gold players “rolled” by pro ALGS squad in Ranked Posted to the Apex Legends subreddit, user Pwn_sauce and their squad were playing in a Gold lobby when they were beamed down and killed, giving them no opportunity to fight back. Thinking it was strange, they decided to check who the opposing squad was and realized they’d been eliminated by Mark ‘Dropped’ Thees and Joseph ‘Frexs’ Sanchez, both pros for Spacestation gaming, as well as Ryan ‘Reptar’ Boyd, another pro who competes for Complexity. Of course, this left both Pwn_sauce and their friend extremely confused as they had been matched up against a Predator squad of pros in a relatively low-level lobby. This occurrence has sparked a discussion on Reddit, with countless players criticizing the matchmaking and Apex in its current state: “The game feels like it’s in a terrible state right now.” The aim of Ranked Reloaded was to improve the competitive mode and create a fair environment where players can test out their skills. Unfortunately, it seems to have made the matchmaking worse and with Silver and Golds being placed against Predators, it makes it almost impossible for them to win. “I literally uninstalled last night because of this… My trio group is very clearly bronze and Pubs matchmaking has been terrible this season, ranked sbmm has been terrible.” It’s obvious the issues with matchmaking are taking their toll on the community, so Respawn is going to have to find a solution in the near future, or risk more players leaving out of frustration.

  • Apex Legends: What every gold item does – Dexerto

Apex Legends: What every gold item does Apex Legends utilizes a loot system where rarity, and level, are highlighted by color. Unsurprisingly, gold (legendary) represents the best items. Here are all the gold items and what they do in-game. Gold items in Apex Legends are often hard to come by due to the benefits they offer and their rarity. The gold color is preceded by, in order of most common to rare, Level 1 (grey), Level 2 (blue) and Level 3 (purple). There is actually a rarity level higher than Legendary, which is red or heirloom. This covers heirloom items for Legends, care package weapons, and the red evo shield. While blue and purple provide an increase in what the item achieves, gold items are the same as purple, but include an additional benefit. Gold gear comes in the form of helmets, body shields, knockdown shields, backpacks, and various attachments. Gold equipment in Apex Legends Gold Helmet As you can probably guess, helmets provide headshot damage protection. The gold helmet gives a headshot damage reduction of 50%. The additional benefit it yields is an increase in charge speed for both tactical and ultimate abilities. If you’re playing as Octane, you should probably give your gold helmet to a teammate, as your cooldowns are so short already. Grey: 30% damage reduction – Blue: 40% damage reduction – Purple: 50% damage reduction – Gold: 50% damage reduction and reduces tactical & ultimate recharge by 20% – Gold Body Shield Whereas helmets reduce damage received, body shields give you extra health, which can be recharged with cells and batteries. This additional health is indicated by up to five bars above your normal health bar, each representing 25 HP. Read More: Best guns in Apex Legends – The gold variant of a body shield gives you the same increased health of the purple shield (+100HP), but has the added benefit of increasing the power of healing items. Instead of only boosting your shield/health by 25, shield cells and syringes will add 50. Normal: 2 shields – Blue: 3 shields – Purple: 4 shields – Gold: 4 shields and syringes & shield cells add 50HP instead of 25 – Gold Knockdown Shield The knockdown shield is a new concept to battle royale games, which at least gives you some form of hope when knocked down. With a knockdown shield, an opponent will need to inflict as much damage as the knockout shield provides health, assuming you are facing their direction with the shield activated. The shield will only cover the front of you though. The gold knockdown shield previously allowed you to self-revive, but this was removed with the Season 14 update. Instead, the gold knockdown now has the ‘guardian angel’ perk, that used to belong to gold backpacks. Guardian Angel: Revived teammates have increased shield and health – Gold Backpacks Just like other battle royale games, backpacks allow you to store various items. The bigger, or rarer, the backpack the more you can store. A gold backpack in Apex Legends results in teammates who have been revived coming back with more health and shield. Players will be revived with 50 shields and 70 health. Normal: Additional 2 items – Blue: Additional 4 items – Purple: Additional 6 items – Gold: Additional 6 items + Deep Pockets: Stack extra meds3 med kits – 3 shield batteries – 2 phoenix kits – – Digital Threat Scopes There are two gold scopes in Apex Legends: 1x, and 4x – 10x variable. Both of these are the only scopes to provide digital threat detection. Read More: Best Legends to use in Apex Legends – The perk of digital threat detection is the ability to see enemies through smoke and gas. Enemies are highlighted red when looking through the sight. They are perfect if you have a Bangalore on your team who can smother the enemies in smoke, allowing you to spray through at them. Equally, if you get caught in a spot with Caustic’s gas. Other Gold Attachments The remaining gold items don’t provide any alternative benefit from their more common counterparts, except for the barrel stabilizer. They simply provide more, or better, of what a purple attachment does. Extended mag: Increases ammo capacity – gold automatically reloads holstered weapons – Skullpiercer Rifling: Increases headshot multiplier for Wingman, Longbow, 30-30 Repeater – Turbocharger: Removes spin-up times for Devotion and Havoc – Barrel stabilizer (Vaulted): Reduces recoil – gold reduces weapon flash – Anvil Receiver (Vaulted): Increased damage in semi-auto fire mode for R301 and Flatline – So, that’s all the gold equipment in Apex Legends currently, and what they do. Respawn is often changing things up though, so we’ll keep this page updated when that happens.

  • Apex Legends goes medieval with leather-clad Wraith skin idea – Dexerto

Apex Legends goes medieval with leather-clad Wraith skin idea Respawn EntertainmentWhile the Apex Legends universe is set in a distant future, one fan of the Respawn Entertainment title has designed a Wraith skin that throws the hero directly into the flames of medieval lore. Like Titanfall and Titanfall 2, Apex Legends is a world fit with space travel, biomechanical enhancements, and scientifically advanced abilities. Many of the game’s characters fit that vibe, with metal gear and accessories alongside glowing specialty skins. Of the futuristic, experimental competitors, Renee ‘Wraith’ Blasey is an obvious standout. Known as an “Interdimensional Skirmisher,” the character’s backstory posits that she was a “Science Pilot” who was experimented on, betrayed, and ended up with a freakishly chaotic relationship with different dimensions and, most notably, the Void. Wraith’s default suit and style are therefore fitting; she’s got bleached eyes, future pilot-esque gear, and shown with a sporadic, blue electric aura inherited from the Void. But a Reddit user, ‘400x250_20fps,’ has come up with a way to make Blasey feel more like a creepy, hunting cousin of Bloodhound mixed with a medieval archer. The default Wraith look is pretty tight. She’s got straps, a utility belt, and even some sort of functional epaulet. But, aside from her “Protector of the Void” gladiator skin, most of Blasey’s other outfits maintain that futuristic, dystopian vibe. Read more: Fix Apex Legends input delay – That wouldn’t last long if our numerically named Reddit designer was in charge, as their design slaps a ton of leather and a slick crossbow onto the voidwalking hero. Like Arya in Game of Thrones mixed with Michaela ‘BERTHA’ Schneider from Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, this Wraith skin meshes the functionality of olden days’ leather attire with a protective gas mask. Overall, the community seems pretty into the aesthetic. Some drew parallels to BERTHA, some to fellow Apex Legend Bloodhound, and some even went so far as to suggest that they were getting some serious Bioshock “Little Sister” vibes. Some even likened the drab skirt to an apron and discussed whether or not this could fit lore ties to the big spooky scientist himself, Caustic. Read more: Apex Legends fan’s insane 3D printed Wingman – Ultimately, no one knows what Respawn Entertainment have in store for future skins. But if 400x250_20fps’s design can beckon thoughts about such a wide array of sources, then maybe it can inspire the developers too.

  • Apex Legends goes IRL in stunning Tiktok video – Dexerto

Apex Legends goes IRL in stunning Tiktok video Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends is enjoying a huge comeback right now and fans have shown their love for the game in lots of different ways and this Tiktok shows just how much fans love these characters. Apex Legends is in something of a renaissance period. While the hype around the game was high for the first few months after release, it seemed as if it was always going to be stuck to playing second fiddle to games like Fortnite and Warzone, which seemed to penetrate the cultural zeitgeist much deeper than Apex did. This has started to change though. The debut of Season 10 Emergence saw a ton of big-name streamers flocking to the game and placing a well-deserved spotlight on the title. The appreciation hasn’t stopped there at Twitch and YouTube though, as TikTok user King Vader has brought the game’s newest Legend, to life in a TikTok video. This bite-sized story perfectly encapsulates how scary it was to run into a Seer before he was nerfed. Seer dominates the competition IRL and in-game While his pick rate may be down pretty drastically right now, Seer’s kit makes him one of the most oppressive Legends in the game. Whether through his heartbeat sensor, the auto-tracking provided by his ultimate, or by sniping you with his tactical, Seer keeps a watchful eye on the competition at all times. All of this makes running away from him feel like you’re stuck in the part of an action movie where the good guy has come to clean up the mess that you’ve unfortunately created for him. This video also hits on what makes Apex Legends stand out from the crowd. The ridiculous finishing moves, the over-the-top personalities, and the brutal quips between characters all make for an elevated gaming experience. While this is the closest thing we’re going to get to an Apex Legends movie or TV series for a while, the video does raise some excellent questions about what the game would look like in live-action. Since being released on September 4, the video has accumulated over a million views, and the demand for more doesn’t seem to be slowing down. Fans of the game have flooded the comment section asking for their favorite Legends to be included in a follow-up.

  • Apex Legends Global Series Year 2: $5 million prize pool, console crossplay, LAN events – Dexerto

Apex Legends Global Series Year 2: $5 million prize pool, console crossplay, LAN events Respawn EntertainmentEA have revealed the next stage of the Apex Legends Global Series — announcing that Year 2 will feature a whopping $5 million prize pool, console crossplay, and LAN events for the burgeoning esport. Apex Legends is one of the world’s biggest battle royales and, with efforts from EA and Respawn Entertainment, the game continues to push into esports. Having hit some big viewership numbers during the ALGS NA Championship Finals, the team announced that they’re going bigger and better in the next season. And there are some interesting wrinkles this time around, as a bigger prize pool merits an expanded competitive ecosystem. The obvious highlights are a $5 million purse and a return to live events, but Apex is also tweaking formats to suit a larger player base. Those latter changes are encompasses in new competitive leagues. ALGS Prize Pool & LAN Events First things first, yes there will be $5 million available to the world’s greatest Apex players and yes those players will be able to compete for that money in-person (as long as conditions persist). As ALGS commissioner John Nelson told us back in January, the plans have always been for interregional competition on LAN. Those plans may soon be coming to fruition, starting with the season opener in September 2021 and leading to the ALGS Championship in July 2022. ALGS console crossplay & leagues For the first time in ALGS history, console players are getting the chance to join the fight in Year 2. PlayStation and Xbox players will be permitted to enter the fray, but will have to use “PC-value aim assist settings” (as detailed in the ALGS blog). Additionally, the ALGS will open up competition to both the pro and amateur scenes through the ALGS Pro League and Challenger Circuit. These two leagues are hoped to benefit multiple tiers of Apex esports internationally, focused on five regions: North America, EMEA, APAC South, APAC North, and South America. With prize pool, live events, and league format details announced, it looks like the Apex Legends Global Series is gaining momentum. As more information becomes available, we’ll keep fans up to speed on our site and on Twitter.

  • Apex Legends glitch spot on Storm Point gives players free kills – Dexerto

Apex Legends glitch spot on Storm Point gives players free kills Respawn EntertainmentA new hiding spot has been discovered on Apex Legends’ Storm Point map, giving sneaky squads a huge advantage. Apex Legends maps are often filled with amazing vantage points that players can use to get a competitive edge over their enemies. From OP locations that give snipers easy kills to high ground rat spots, the game’s community is constantly finding new areas to hide in. Not only can utilizing these hidden areas give you an advantage, but they can also lead to some incredibly easy kills. While Respawn has often patched a number of the more notorious glitch spots, there are a few that continue to slip through the net. Apex Legends Storm Point glitch spot Finding a location that completely conceals your body in Apex Legends is incredibly broken, especially when you’re trying to get the drop on enemy players. Whether you’re looking to sneakily third party your foes or just need a bit of respite to heal, then this Storm Point glitch spot enables you to do both. Read More: Who is Mad Maggie in Apex Legends? – YouTuber Skeptation recently showcased how players can hide in one of the orange cones on Storm Point. In order to utilize this spot, simply travel over to Checkpoint and enter the building on the eastern section of the POI. Locate the two cones and walk into the largest one to conceal yourself. If done correctly, you should phase through the cone and now be inside it. To make yourself even harder to see, Skeptation recommends crouching in the center of the cone. It’s important to note that the cone still has bullet collision, which means you won’t be able to hit enemies while inside the cone. Instead, it’s best to let your foes run past before engaging them. If you come across a squad abusing this glitch spot, then Thermite grenades and bullets will still hurt them, so be sure to carefully check this area when exploring Checkpoint.

  • Apex Legends glitch ruins Care Package locations on Storm Point – Dexerto

Apex Legends glitch ruins Care Package locations on Storm Point Respawn EntertainmentA strange glitch in Apex Legends can leave Care Packages on the strangest parts of Storm Point, making them inaccessible to players seeking its high-tier loot. Chronicled by one Apex player who wouldn’t give up on the case, the glitched Supply Drop landed on a cliffside perch that didn’t let them properly stand to freely claim its items. This began the player’s unrelenting venture to at least get one item from the drop and was met with some semblance of success. Unfortunately for them, though, they weren’t able to properly loot up the package despite multiple attempts. “The most frustrating Care Package on Storm Point,” Redditor ‘A1sauc3d’ said, and later added: “I was not expecting to struggle that much with it lol. Every time I flew up there I thought ‘I’ll get it for sure this time.’” Even as Valkyrie, the player was at least able to reach the airdrop. But actually getting its contents into their inventory proved to be another challenge. “Although I don’t think it actually matters what gun you currently have equipped,” A1sauc3d explained. “If you press interact on an optic that fits on your stowed gun, it will still swap it out for you. Read more: Everything coming in Apex Legends Season 12 – “My problem here was that I couldn’t properly line up the jump-to-slip-n-slide to even have the option to interact with it lol.” We’ve seen similar bugs across Apex maps before which leave Care Packages in impossible places for players to reach. While it can be tempting for players to run to the beam that emanates from the drops, it can be deadly to run up to them. Apex has been steadily updated to fix some of the more problematic bugs in the game but players wouldn’t mind if these instances would get addressed by Respawn Entertainment as well.

  • Apex Legends glitch lets you play in 3rd person and it looks incredible – Dexerto

Apex Legends glitch lets you play in 3rd person and it looks incredible There is a glitch currently in Apex Legends that is switching players’ point-of-view to third person, creating a very awesome alternate version of the game. A lot has changed in Apex Legends since its release back in early February, especially with the launch of Season 3: Meltdown introducing a whole brand new map. However, one thing that has remained firmly constant is that fact that the game is played solely in first person, and there are no options for alternate POVs that some other battle royales offer. And while there are no indications that Respawn Entertainment would ever add such an option, the game did so on its own thanks to a bug that is changing the view players have from first to third person. Read More: When is Apex Legends coming to Steam? – You can see a demonstration of this in the clip below, which was captured and posted on Reddit by user ‘Spaghetty4Brekky.’ As the user revealed in the caption, this bug kicked in when their squad got full eliminated as they were trying to respawn the Wraith back onto the map. Once the last player was killed, instead of the match recap screen popping up, the game instead momentarily went to a black screen, after which the match resumed but with the Wraith showing up in third person. However, it doesn’t appear that the player was actually in the match that they had just been eliminated from, but rather stuck in an alternate limbo version of the game where the character was given freedom to run around with no one else on the map. At this point, it’s unclear exactly when this glitch shows up in-game, although it likely has to do with a team being eliminated at the exact moment that one of their players is being respawned back onto the map, just as it happened in the clip above. And while the change in perspective was due to a glitch, there is no denying that the overall effect was actually pretty incredible to look at. At first glance, one wouldn’t think it was a bug but rather a new version of the game released by Respawn. Despite not actually being in an online game, the player was still able to pull off all of the regular movement mechanics including the Wraith’s sprint that many player affectionately refer to as the ‘Naruto sprint,’ in reference to the running style used in the popular anime series. Of course, there’s little to no chance Respawn would ever add a third-person option to Apex Legends, but players at least now have a visual of how it would actually look in-game.

  • Apex Legends glitch lets you explore Season 15 map teaser freely – Dexerto

Apex Legends glitch lets you explore Season 15 map teaser freely RespawnA new Apex Legends glitch lets players explore the Season 15 map teaser freely, giving new insight into upcoming locations and POIs. Apex Legends Season 15 is rapidly approaching and, as has become the standard practice ahead of a new season, teasers and hints at what is to come are rapidly piling up. We’ve had confirmation that Catalyst will be the season’s new Legend, a Ferro Fluid-wielding hero who becomes the game’s first female transgender character. There’s also the chance for players to explore the Season 15 map via the ‘A New Home’ teaser event, as long as they’ve crafted a golden ticket. Players have now realized that, once on the Cleo moon map, a glitch lets you explore it far more fully than Respawn intended. Apex Legends glitch lets you explore Season 15 map early The glitch is fairly simple to complete. It requires players to use Revenant to climb out of the released map area, drop down a steep cliff face and traverse round a cliff corner to access the unreleased portions of the map. Plenty of players clocked on to the glitch, with many using it to access upcoming POIs. One player – Redditor Outmaneuver1116 – shared images of unreleased POIs, with certain zones looking like prime areas for high tier loot and others showcasing the kind of epic space scenery we’ve become accustomed to in Apex Legends. Areas of the map are uncompleted and don’t render exactly as is intended, but this is only natural given it’s an unreleased environment and Respawn still have a couple of weeks to tinker with it ahead of Season 15’s launch. It’s likely that Respawn seeks to eliminate the glitch promptly to stop players from accessing parts of the map teaser that they’re not supposed to. Regardless, player excitement is only going one way ahead of November 1.

  • Apex Legends glitch shows how great the game would look in third person – Dexerto

Apex Legends glitch shows how great the game would look in third person Respawn EntertainmentA bug in Apex Legends gave one player a unique perspective after getting eliminated, revealing how awesome the battle royale could look with a third-person mode. Respawn Entertainment’s title immediately attracted millions of players upon release, but constant bugs and a lack of content has been slowly discouraging some people to drop into King’s Canyon. However, this bug might not be too controversial seeing as it gives the game an entirely new look. Now, before players jump to Fortnite Battle Royale parallels, its worth noting that plenty of excellent team-shooters in days past made terrific use of third person including Gears of Wars, Uncharted, The Division, and many more. 600In a Reddit post, user ‘MackMarceau’ showed a bizarre glitch that popped up after they had been eliminated from the match. Upon dying, instead of spectating the opponents like normal, they were following the other team in a third-person perspective. While similar bugs have popped up in the past this one gave a clear look at how everything from combat and various in-game interaction would look like if players were detached way from a first-person perspective. Seeing the game in third person is equally cool and hilarious, especially since throughout the majority of the clip Octane is running with a rifle in one hand as if it weighed nothing. Would third-person perspective work in Apex Legends? The idea sounds like it could make for a fun and wacky alternate playlist, but with that in mind there’d need to be a few tweaks to some Legends’ abilities. For example, Bangalore’s Smoke Launcher would have to give larger plumes to retain its effectiveness and Mirage’s Psyche Out just need to be better overall. 600With that in mind players have been liking how the game looks but think it would be best used to create highlights and the like. “It’s a sort of bug, but this particular version of the view looks really cool,” Redditor ‘d0nkatron’ said. “Like others said, this would be beautiful for montages and stuff.” It doesn’t seem like this bug is hurting the experience in Apex Legends, so it wouldn’t necessarily be at the top of the list for Respawn to fix. But it looks like that might be fine for a lot of members in the community.

  • Apex Legends glitch completely removes wait time on Crypto drone – Dexerto

Apex Legends glitch completely removes wait time on Crypto drone Respawn/EAApex Legends players have found a way to instantly spawn Crypto’s drone, though, it does leave them completely exposed to enemies. Ever since joining the battle royale party back in season three, Crypto has had an up and down existence in Apex Legends. The Surveillance Expert has plenty of players who are dedicated to using him, but he hasn’t hit the heights of a Wraith or Pathfinder. He’s best suited to players who want to help out their team – especially with his drone, Hack. With the drone, Crypto players can hang back and scan areas for enemies or pick up a downed teammates banner from a dangerous spot. While there is a short load time to use the drone, some players have uncovered a glitch that cuts through the waiting period. The glitch was pointed out by Redditor chikenpotPi_, who showed that by simply hopping up on a ledge, the wait time on the drone is reduced to zero and it is instantly usable. Of course, by jumping up on something, Crypto isn’t able to cower away in a corner or hide behind cover. Thus, the legend is completely exposed to enemies. Given that the load time on the drone is only a second or two, the glitch doesn’t even seem that helpful unless you want to use the EMP drone in a tight space. Even then, it’s unlikely that you’ll see Crypto main’s exploiting during games in the future given that most play at long range. Though, given that the glitch could be pretty annoying if players find a way to reduce the wait time and stay in cover, it might be something that Respawn looks into moving forward. As of writing, the strange bug hasn’t appeared on their Trello board so it remains to be seen as to whether or not they are aware of it.

  • Apex Legends glitch brings Titanfall 2 wallrunning to battle royale – Dexerto

Apex Legends glitch brings Titanfall 2 wallrunning to battle royale Respawn EntertainmentA glitch in Apex Legends can let players perfectly imitate the wallrunning mechanic from Titanfall 2, finally letting some people see how the tech would look like in the battle royale. Longtime fans of Respawn Entertainment’s works will be familiar with wallrunning in the FPS genre. Unfortunately, the marquee movement feature from the franchise didn’t translate to the Apex Games set in the same universe. This wasn’t an oversight, either. Respawn has said time and again that wallrunning isn’t suited for Apex Legends, but a glitch is letting Octane players imitate the Titanfall 2 mechanic all the same. Near the Gardens on Olympus, user ‘zZsr56zZ’ noticed that the giant Hammond Robotics billboard can also be used to get a major slide off after utilizing the High-Speed Daredevil’s Launch Pad. It was a surprise to be sure. The seamless transition even prompted the player to ask if this was “a bug or intended.” But as we know by now, this would definitely be a bug since the feature isn’t in Respawn’s plans for the Arena. This bug is likely a variation of another glitch we’ve seen before with Octane’s ult that lets him ride on the underside of bridges and platforms as long as he launches into them. During zZsr56zZ’s clip, you can see on the other side of the Hammond sign there are little curves and bars that stretch the length of the path the player took. This could be what Octane’s momentum clung onto, making it appear as if he was wallrunning in the battle royale as opposed to being carried by upward momentum that was redirected to appear as side-to-side. As much as we wished this was an intended mechanic, Respawn have been adamant about excluding wallrunning in Apex Legends basically since the game came out in February 2019. “I’m not saying wallrunning is bad. I’m saying wallrunning is a bad fit for Apex Legends,” Respawn Lead Game Designer Daniel Z. Klein said. “[Apex] is a game where positioning matters, where getting the drop on enemies matters… It’s very unlikely wallrunning will ever come to Apex proper.” Although we’ll never get wallrunning, Apex players can try their hand at this glitch to recreate the Titanfall mechanic as best as you can with the glitch.

  • Apex Legends glitch allows players to fly off of Respawn Beacons – Dexerto

Apex Legends glitch allows players to fly off of Respawn Beacons Respawn EntertainmentA major glitch continues to plague Apex Legends, allowing players to soar high into the sky off of the many Respawn Beacons littered across the map. It’s no secret that Apex Legends, despite being well into its second season, continues to be full of bugs, glitches, and exploits. While many of these aforementioned things don’t have severe effects or consequences, a select few of them are drastic enough to be filed under the ‘potentially game-breaking’ category. One such glitch allows players to obtain the power of flight after coming into contact with a Respawn Beacon – the large devices installed on the ground throughout that map where eliminated players can be respawned. The gameplay footage below, captured by Reddit user ‘unyson,’ shows the player’s Bloodhound Legend springing to new heights after jumping on top of one of the Beacons. The apparent cause of this glitch has to do with some odd coding that messes with the in-game physics and makes energy behave in a very unusual way. All players have to do is punch a Respawn Beacon repeatedly, and since the structure is immovable and indestructible, the continuous melee hits leads to a massive amount of potential energy being built up in the character. Once the necessary amount of punches have been thrown, the player then simply has to mantle on top of a Beacon and press jump, instantly translating all of that stored up energy into actionable kinetic energy. The sudden release of all the energy turns a simple hop into a gargantuan leap that takes the Legend to the literal ceiling of the map. If all that talk about punching objects to build up energy sounds familiar, that’s because it is. This glitch is fundamentally similar to another one that’s been in the game for quite a while, which allows players to do the same thing but with loot crates. While the developers at Respawn Entertainment are undoubtedly doing their best to cleanse the game, it’s still pretty concerning that Season 2 is almost halfway done, and there are still inexplicable issues like this ruining players’ gaming experiences.

  • Apex Legends glitch accidentally creates the best Pathfinder skin ever – Dexerto

Apex Legends glitch accidentally creates the best Pathfinder skin ever An Apex Legends glitch created perhaps the most spectacular Pathfinder skin seen in-game so far. Apex Legends has seen plenty of bugs since its launch in February 2019, many of which have frustrated players by preventing the game from working as intended, or even opening up exploits that allow opponents to gain an unfair advantage. One player, however – Reddit user Ivanfiree – recently came across a fairly harmless glitch that might even have created a visual improvement, by changing the appearance of Pathfinder to create a stunning new skin. While choosing their legend for the next game, Ivanfiree moved to lock in Pathfinder – who recent statistics confirm is one of the most popular legends in the game. As he materialized, however, the rendering appears to have glitched, producing a new luminous, crystalline look for the character. While obviously unintended, the aesthetic is quite spectacular and, aside from a few inconsistent details due to the bug, almost appears as if it could be an intentional Legendary skin that would undoubtedly be one of if not the most stunning in the game. Fans were quick to call for Respawn Entertainment to capitalize on the unintended inspiration and produce an actual skin based on the glitched look, with some suggesting that the look could be perfect for a “Celestial” skin series for multiple Legends. The only downside to such a skin, of course, could be that it’s a little too eye-catching – the glow of the skin would certainly stand out in-game, especially if it were as bright as it is in the character selection screen, which could potentially be a competitive disadvantage. Nevertheless, it seems likes that many players would happily risk being easier to spot if it meant being quite so resplendent, so it might be something for Respawn to take note of. One of the early criticisms of Apex Legends was that the skins on offer weren’t particularly vibrant or exciting, especially when compared to the huge variety offered by rival battle royale Fortnite. While Respawn have made efforts to improve on this front since release, whether they would ever go quite as far as producing something similar to this glitch remains to be seen.
