  • Apex Legends glitch accidentally creates terrifying Revenant skin – Dexerto

Apex Legends glitch accidentally creates terrifying Revenant skin EA/RespawnA random lobby glitch in Apex Legends has accidentally created one of the most terrifying skins yet for the newly added character Revenant. After many teasers, Apex Legends revealed that Revenant would be the newest character to enter the action in the much anticipated Season 4 update. Many fans were eager to see test out the new Legend when the update was released, however, one player managed to experience an unusual lobby glitch which gave the new addition a terrifying look in-game. Apex Legends Reddit user u/Rechulas was rocking one of the Revenant’s legendary skins, Unholy Beast, when they encountered a glitch that seemed to improve on the already popular cosmetic option. Rechulas shared a look at what they experienced with others on the subreddit on March 6 and expressed that although it was a random glitch, it could actually make for a great skin in Apex Legends. “Had a glitched version of the Unholy Beast, thought this could be a cool skin,” they explained, revealing the glitched character’s terrifying new appearance. Although Revenant’s Unholy Beast skin would be a frightening sight by itself, the glitch gave the new character a metallic look and some demonic eyes to go with it. Despite the fact the glitch was obviously unintended, many other Apex Legends fans rallied around the idea of introducing a similar cosmetic item for Revenant. The glitch managed to get many mains of the new character excited about what could be next and one user even replied, claiming that it would be one of the “best skin’s ever” to be introduced in the popular battle royale title. However, as for now, fans will just have to wait and see whether or not Respawn will choose to introduce a similar skin for Revenant in a future update.

  • Apex Legends gives out free packs to players who lost Ranked Points – Dexerto

Apex Legends gives out free packs to players who lost Ranked Points Respawn EntertainmentAfter a strange glitch in Apex Legends Ranked Play resulted in thousands of players losing RP unfairly, Respawn has made amends by handing out one free pack to each affected account. The bug essentially was matching players with teammates in a different rank, then kicking them because their rank was either too high or too low to play with those teammates. Of course, this was no fault of the player, and there was absolutely nothing they could have done to avoid it, but being kicked from the game would still cost them RP. One player, whose post went viral on Reddit, lost 96 ranked points after entering a Diamond game, matched with a gold player, and subsequently being kicked as their rank was too high. To make matters worse, they were also dealt a 10-minute matchmaking delay – enough time to take a recording of the incident and post it online. Quickly, the bug came to the attention of the developers, who, seeing the severity of the issue, issued a very quick fix before it affected an even larger portion of the player base. There was bad news too though, as there was no way of Respawn returning lost RP to players. To make up for it, one free Apex pack has been granted to any player who was hit by the bug, confirmed by Respawn’s Director of Communications, Ryan Rigney. https://twitter.com/RKRigney/status/1337582313299914753 Although not the outcome or ‘fix’ ranked players would have hoped for, it’s certainly better than nothing. Having said that, some were less than impressed by a single pack being the compensation. The good news is that with the bug fixed, you shouldn’t be at risk of randomly being booted from a ranked game because Apex inadvertently matched you with players of different ranks.

  • Apex Legends gives new character Newcastle a “dad bod” for cool dad representation – Dexerto

Apex Legends gives new character Newcastle a “dad bod” for cool dad representation Respawn EntertainmentAll eyes are on the latest addition to Apex Legends, Newcastle, but his physique isn’t quite what many would expect from a hardened warrior. Respawn have explained why. With Apex Legends Season 12 coming to a close and the dust settling on Mad Maggie‘s debut, a new challenger lurks on the Season 13 horizon: Newcastle. A seasoned veteran like his sister, Bangalore, the Apex Games’ newest hero may have combat skills that send his enemies fleeing, but at his core, he’s a family man through and through. Turns out that explains his physique; something that has surprised a host of players. While once upon a time he was a strapping young soldier, family life has taken its toll on this fearsome defender, leaving him with a dad body that Respawn’s Lead Concept Designer, Cristina Ferez, describes as being completely intentional. Apex Legends dev explains Newcastle’s dad bod While the male (and sometimes female) poster children of most games feature rippling muscles and perfectly toned physiques, Ferez explains why Newcastle won’t be rocking a six pack. Highlighting that the Apex Games’ newest Legend “started a new family under a guise,” he’s put on a few pounds while living the chilled out, white picket fence lifestyle. This isn’t the only reason for his dad bod, though. As seen in the ‘Stories from the Outlands: Hero’ cinematic (embedded below), Newcastle is a dedicated father, whose motivation for being in the Apex Games is his family’s safety. He’s the ‘cool dad’ he hopes his kids picture him to be, as well as a man set on delivering justice. Determined to ensure players know that Newcastle is the literal embodiment of the righteous paragon, Respawn have integrated his motivations into his character design. So while Newcastle may not look quite like the hero we expect, he’s the hero both we and the Apex Games need – especially if you’re a defensive player. Either way, we can’t wait to dive in and try him out for ourselves. After all, who doesn’t want to play as a cool dad? Cue sunglasses emote.

  • Apex Legends devs “seriously” considering Gibraltar changes to combat shield meta – Dexerto

Apex Legends devs “seriously” considering Gibraltar changes to combat shield meta EA / Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment developers have confirmed the team is looking “very seriously” into nerfing Gibraltar in Apex Legends, to tackle the shield meta. Newcastle is the new Legend on the block, to be introduced with Season 13 on May 10, 2022. He is part of a plethora of changes that are going to be implemented into the game, though his abilities are very similar to Gibraltar’s since he has the ability to deploy shields as well. Gibraltar has a really high pick rate in high-ranked matches as it is, partly due to Gibby’s popular Tactical ability, Dome of Protection, working as a shield against incoming attacks. It does not allow projectiles like grenades and arc stars or even bullets to pass through it, allowing his teammates to provide enough time to quickly heal from the inflicted damage. This has given birth to a “shield meta” in Apex Legends. Apex Legends devs are considering tackling “shield meta” Gibraltar could be in line for a nerf in the near future, with the arrival of Newcastle coming. When asked whether the defensive legend would be receiving any nerfs or changes in the Saviors update during the dev Q&A, Senior Game Designer Devan McGuire revealed that they are looking at Gibraltar’s kit “very seriously’. The intention is to “tackle the shield meta” so it doesn’t dominate too much, they said. Although the devs have been evaluating Gibby’s kit and will continue to do so, they are very much aware that Gibraltar’s pick rate is on the higher side in high-rank, while lower in lower ranks. The introduction of Newcastle to the game may balance that out, though that remains to be seen. Comparing Gibraltar’s shield to Newcastle’s When the shields of these two legends are compared head-to-head, the results are quite contrasting. While Gibraltar’s “Dome of Protection” is motionless, Newcastle’s Tactical deploys a mobile shield. He throws a controllable drone that can also be redirected once the shield is deployed. Until Season 12, Gibraltar has been the only character to provide strong tactical protection during fights. With the introduction of Newcastle, players feel a new meta might be born with a different approach to gameplay. Considering the changes that are coming to Ranked on May 10, it remains to be seen how players adapt to the new rules set by Respawn.

  • Apex Legends devs promise Gibraltar nerfs “still coming,” but not this patch – Dexerto

Apex Legends devs promise Gibraltar nerfs “still coming,” but not this patch Respawn EntertainmentRespawn has confirmed the long-awaited Gibraltar gun shield nerfs are “still coming” in an upcoming Apex Legends update, after the promised Season 8 changes were conspicuously absent in this week’s ‘Chaos Theory’ patch. Hefty shield-wielding legend Gibraltar has long sat atop the Apex Legends meta. In fact, since his Season 3 buffs, the Kiwi defender fallen out of the top three. It’s been a point of contention in the Apex Legends community for some time; pros and ranked players alike have publicly called for nerfs regularly over the past 12 months. At first, Respawn stayed strong on the changes. They had “absolutely no plans” to change the defender, and only fiddled with his ult timings slightly. Until, that is, the devs promised to look at his “broken” gun shield. On Jan. 26, the Apex Legends balance team confirmed they would be changing the way bleedthrough (transferring damage to Gibraltar after his shield cracks) worked. These nerfs were tipped to arrive in the ‘Chaos Theory’ patch. Only, they weren’t in the March 4 notes. Don’t worry though — Respawn has already updated Apex fans on the status of the planned Gibraltar gun shield changes: “Don’t worry… they’re coming soon.” According to Respawn’s balance team, they were working on “the arm shield stuff” when they encountered a “nasty” set of bugs that slowed down their process. “These stopped us from shipping the nerf,” they admitted. The absence of the long-awaited gun shield nerfs in this week’s ‘Chaos Theory’ update doesn’t mean they aren’t coming, the devs added. The planned Gibraltar changes are still very much on the schedule, and should be “coming soon,” once the coding bugs get ironed out. The Gibby nerfs — which have now been pushed back twice — should be included in the second Season 8 patch; that should be around late April or early May. Gibraltar’s gun shield may be safe — for now — but his dome is not. The bulky Kiwi defender will have his Dome of Protection’s healing item speeds reduced by 15% in the March 9 patch. He will also be joined on the balance sheet by Pathfinder (losing low profile) and Horizon (her Black Hole cooldown is copping a one-minute hit), as well as Revenant, Wattson, and Rampart. The Mastiff, Wingman, and Hemlok are all getting changes too. Catch up on the full “Chaos Theory” patch notes ahead of the big Season 8 update on March 9.

  • Apex Legends is getting new custom reticles with RGB color system – Dexerto

Apex Legends is getting new custom reticles with RGB color system Respawn EntertainmentRespawn are bringing custom reticles to Apex Legends with a complete RGB color system for players to finally personalize their own crosshairs. The company revealed the new quality of life feature headed to the battle royale in the Apex Legends Raiders Collection Event announcement. Along with different buffs and nerfs in the upcoming update, the devs are going to deliver on one of the biggest requests for the game. Though players will have a lot of control to tweak the different hues, Respawn’s system will color correct some selections so that they can be compatible throughout different backgrounds. This is a big leap for people to tailor the Apex experience to fit them and will let players move past certain workarounds that achieved a similar effect. Custom Reticle Colors are coming to Apex Legends next week! 🔴 Select colors 🔵 Use color + brightness sliders 🟢 Manually enter an RGB color 🟣 Preview your reticle in 4 environments pic.twitter.com/Syf0Tvxpwb— Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) December 2, 2021 Custom reticles are coming to Apex Legends with the December 7 Raiders Collection Event update. After the patch, people can navigate to the Gameplay Settings where they will find a ‘Customize’ option under Reticule. Apex players will be able to select different presets, adjust their own brightness and hues with sliders, or manually enter RGB colors. Selections can even be previewed with different backdrops to see if players like their pick. The studio has warned against darker colors, however, due to the fact that they might become ‘invisible’ in certain conditions. For people who manually enter darker RGB values for the reticule, it’ll be slightly changed to “keep that hue but will bring that value closer to a safe color,” Respawn said. Respawn Senior Technical Experience Designer on Apex Legends, Justin Masse, showed how the feature will work while also revealing that custom colors will affect everything except the 1x Digital Threat and 4x-10x Digital Sniper Threat. The Apex player base has been waiting for a long time to customize their reticules in the battle royale. • Apex Legends Game Director & Design Director leave Respawn Entertainment – Dexerto

Apex Legends Game Director & Design Director leave Respawn Entertainment Chad GrenierApex Legends’ Game Director Chad Grenier and Design Director Jason McCord have announced their departure from Respawn Entertainment. Apex Legends is receiving a huge shakeup as two major pieces of the game’s puzzle have said their goodbyes. It started with Jason McCord, also known as Monsterclip in the community, stating that he was moving on from the studio – but a midday announcement from Respawn confirmed Grenier’s departure soon after. Apex Legends Game Director & Design Director leave Respawn Entertainment Grenier took the time to address fans and explain the future of Apex Legends in a post on the company’s website. In the letter, he highlighted how much Respawn believes in putting fresh faces in charge of projects before announcing that Steven Ferreira would be taking over his old role: “At Respawn, we’ve always believed that new leadership and new team members mean new ideas, new energy, and new innovations. This couldn’t be a more accurate statement to describe Steven’s many contributions over the years.” Ferreira has been with Respawn since June 2019, and previously served as Team Director for Apex Legends. The company will also be filling the void left by Design Director Jason McCord, who is also leaving the team. McCord’s decision was revealed on Twitter, where he summarized his time with the company: “Today is my last day at Respawn. 11 years, 11 seasons of Apex, 11 shipped maps. I thought that was neat. It’s tough to leave a game and a team that you love. But, it’s time to do something new. No plans quite yet. Going to walk the Earth for a bit and recharge. Stay tuned!” Today is my last day at @Respawn. 11 years, 11 seasons of Apex, 11 shipped maps. I thought that was neat. It’s tough to leave a game and a team that you love. • Apex Legends game-changing ability “exploit” found for controller – Dexerto

Apex Legends game-changing ability “exploit” found for controller Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have found a simple way to cancel their ability animations to cut down on their cast time that some are calling an ‘exploit.’ Triggering a Legends’ ability in Apex brings up a momentary downtime to activate the move. Whether its Bloodhound’s scan or Wraith when she exits the void, a tactical leaves players locked in animation for about a second or two. That being said, people can swerve that penalty using a controller with a quick button input, giving them a faster avenue to react to the battlefield once they use an ability. Apex Legends ability animation cancel To cancel ability animations in Apex Legends, press your Ultimate Ability moments after using your tactical. User ‘RossBobSquirrel’ showed how easy it is to reproduce the tech with every Legend on controller but your mileage may vary with special cases like Pathfinder’s Grappling Hook. In those instances, the trick cancels the ability from being used before the move can actually take effect. But for characters like Gibraltar and Horizon, this trick lets you get off your ability to ADS (aim down the sights) much faster. Even notorious animations like Wraith’s Into the Void ability, which leaves her hands with nothing to do after exiting the rift, can benefit from the trick. Read more: Most popular Legends in Season 11 – The animation cancel tech could prove to be very useful for Apex players, with some people already wondering if it’s considered fair game: “does this count as exploiting?” The disparities between PC and console environments tend to give mouse and keyboard users more options to use, but shortcuts like this could let controller players add more tricks to their toolbox.

  • Apex Legends: Game-breaking Wraith ability exploit is still possible – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Game-breaking Wraith ability exploit is still possible Respawn entertainmentThe infamous Apex Legends exploit which allows Wraith to stay in her “Into the Void” tactical is still possible, despite supposedly being patched by Respawn Entertainment. The well known glitch, which allowed Wraith players to bypass her tactical ability’s cooldown and making the Legend almost unkillable has been recently rediscovered by Reddit user u/MikeLee0000. This Wraith exploit was commonly seen by players when Ranked Play first released with Apex Legends Season 2, making it easy for players to climb the ranks through by simply using this glitch before it was patched. Despite the glitch being possible again, MikeLee0000, had no intention of sharing the method of how he managed to do it with other Apex Legends players, explaining that he will only show the Respawn developers to get the game-breaking bug patched quickly. “I thought they fixed the phase glitch but no it’s still possible, today I managed to find a new glitch to do it in solos, obviously I’m not going to show how, except to a developer who plans to fix it.” He then shared a short clip of him pulling off a victory by repeatedly using the glitch to stay in Wraith’s void, showing that the glitch is just as effective as before with this new method. Wraith’s unique portal and ability mechanics have led to a lot of bugs since the launch of Apex Legends, such as one of the more recently discovered issues, where a player was endlessly trapped inside Wraith’s portal. Despite the number of bugs and glitches with the Legend, Wraith is still a fan favorite that players opt to use in Apex Legends. Presumably, this game-breaking exploit is likely to be patched by Respawn developers fairly quickly without it getting too much use in the public playlists. When exactly the next update is coming is unclear, but we would expect one in early September.

  • Apex Legends Fuse voice actor interview: Who is the new Season 8 Legend? – Dexerto

Apex Legends Fuse voice actor interview: Who is the new Season 8 Legend? Respawn Entertainment / Ben PrendergastFuse is the 16th Legend coming to Apex Legends in Season 8, an explosive new character with an Aussie flair. We spoke to the man behind Fuse, Ben Prendergast, to talk about his time playing Apex, being a character and more. [jwplayer VEi3mnK7] Fuse will be playable for everyone on February 2, when Season 8 begins. Ben’s character hails from Salvo, and also brings with him a new weapon: the 30-30 repeater. If you need to catch up on everything coming to Season 8 we’ve got you covered. But, Fuse’s voice actor tells us what he’s excited about – as a dedicated Apex player himself. You’re already over level 370 in Apex Legends – were you playing before you got an audition, or did you dive in after? I knew about Apex but when I got the audition I dove straight in! I was level 50 before I had my first session so the team was surprised that I knew my Mozambique from my Mastiff. I remember throwing shade on the Mozzie, I think you’ll hear that in his voice lines. Then by the time we came to voice the trailers I was level 200 plus and started playing ranked. I’m Gold I now in ranked and should hit Plat this week. Who do you main currently, and do you think you will be switching to Fuse full time in Season 8? I’m a Horizon main at the moment, switching between Bloodhound and Lifeline depending on my mood. Will I play Fuse? Hell yeah, because his tactical is – Oh I can’t say. But yeah I’ll play Fuse just to troll teammates with custom voice lines, but I know his kit is going to sit perfectly in the meta and give some surprising counters to some of Apex’s tougher characters to beat. Favorite map in Apex? I love all the maps. Seriously, I don’t get the shade on certain maps. Favourite spots on Kings Canyon (I will always drop in that donut hole thingy), World’s Edge (Geyser), but actually I’ve really dug Olympus this season and you’ll find me cruising around the PS5 or Hammond Labs gold loot bins! Oh and the Octane/Trident glitch is the funniest thing I’ve seen all season. Read More: Apex Legends voice actors for all characters – Have you had a chance to play on the new Season 8 patch yet, and try out the new weapon Fuse is bringing from Salvo? Or are you trying it for the first time with the rest of us? I will be with you all on the first day, but the voice lines I’ve recorded give so much away. For example, I was recording Trident lines back in May thinking to myself “ah they’re bringing vehicles in!” The team would tell me what everything was if I didn’t know already, so I have a pretty good idea of what’s coming too. You’re going to hear some love from Fusey around the 30-30, what a gun! I’m a Hemlock/G7 loadout kinda guy so I already know the 3030 is probably going to suit my play style. You have VA roles in a number of other games, including one of the best games of 2020, Hades. Do you always play the games you have a part in, and do you play any games besides that? Hades was a total (and pleasant) surprise, because I knew that SuperGiant had produced some amazing games in the past, but it was the first job that I had recorded from my home studio so I had no idea how it would be received. The writing was great and the character (Patroclus) was super reserved, so to be honest I wasn’t sure how the game all hung together. I do play Hades though, but not as much as Apex right now for obvious reasons. I’ve been a gamer my whole life, when the pandemic hit I was smashing Red Dead Redemption and God of War (for a bit of outside time) but yeah I’ve clocked hundreds of hours on Skyrim, Fallout, FIFA, Gran Turismo, amongst others. Classic VA question here, but as you also do Film & TV, do you have a preference? What are the best things about VA vs onscreen/stage? I don’t actually have a preference but I will say I’ve been blessed with VA and Performance Capture work this past eighteen months. I think VA is moving closer to theatre in terms of the story/lore coalescing with the issues of the day (e.g. Inclusivity, Race, Gender politics) and I feel like a whole new generation of us are developing empathy from this form. For me, VA is something you can dive deep very quickly with and with the help of a good voice director land on a fully formed character that hits just right for the brief. Film/TV takes a little more marination to create a character that works and can be a bit of a solo pursuit, but there are so many more moving parts. And theatre to me is the ultimate acting form, being able to develop and then live inside a character’s journey from start to finish every night and then discover the deeper complexities of that character and their relationships over weeks/months of a plays run (all whilst sharing that with a live audience). Our Australian editor says “Fuse is a little over the top with the Aussie-isms, but in a great way” – what was it like leaning heavily into the “Aussie” character? It’s funny because I’ve definitely known people even more over the top than what we’ve seen of Fuse in the trailers so far. But yes you will definitely hear a fairly thick smattering of Ozzie in ol Fusey. He’s a bit of an anachronism. A mix of seventies Australian film characters, eighties sports stars, and modern-day rural/urban characters I’ve had the pleasure of knowing personally, my dad/uncles figuring heavily. There’s definitely things he says that I wouldn’t, but we were very careful with him and you could always feel when a line wasn’t quite right for him. How much freedom was there to improv – i.e. add in some Australian flair of your own creation. The team at Apex had already written so much fantastic dialogue that it became fun to riff with them and there was definitely the freedom to improvise. Where we needed to hit a certain vibe with Fuse I’d delve into my past and dig up something from an uncle or football coach, or borrow from some previous Australian pop culture reference. To be honest we had days of dialogue sessions and I know I like to throw out tonnes of options so I came out of every one of those sessions exhausted. Which is kinda when you know something is working hey? I’m looking forward to hearing what I said haha. Without giving away any spoilers, how excited are you for future Fuse lore – if you’ve got that far ahead yet? Mate I’m pumped to jump back in and see what else he gets up to, I can already see the writers/directors leading in a certain direction and there’s stuff going down next month that I can’t talk about that is something I’ve NEVER done in my entire acting career. I’m in constant contact with the writers (and other VAs for that matter) and obviously they have their seasons planned way in advance, but I expect that the collaborative process is going to continue. Presumably, like the other voice actors, you’ve had to do a lot (all?) of it from home/remotely given the current situation – What were the challenges, or benefits, of that? Well I had my initial auditions/callbacks in my home studio over zoom, but the main records were at an external studio, which is great because my booth is SMALL and I like to wave around like a madman when I record. But we did do some facial capture and voice record for the Season 8 trailer so the challenge there is to make a 3×5 box feel like Kings Canyon! So yeah, while its slightly more difficult recording remotely, I can’t complain about working from home in your pyjamas. I will say I’m looking forward to the 2021 cast/crew Christmas party, so everyone wear a mask! After you were revealed as the newest VA, what was the reception like from the Apex community? Everyone seems to love the character already. If you’re reading this and you responded to any of the announcements or my tweets I want to say THANK YOU. I read everything and I’ve been absolutely blown away by the response to Fusey. It’s truly humbling to not only bring an Aussie (Salvo) character to my fellow Aussies (Salvonians) but to also bring a flavorsome and fresh Australian cultural identity to the rest of the world. I feel really proud of the stitchwork Aussie that Fuse is, part Steve Irwin, Part Crocodile Dundee, Part 70’s Australian Cricketer, and underneath all that he’s just the proudest peacocky Aussie I could muster. I hope he’s the best of us, welcoming of everyone, dangerous to bad eggs, and someone who wants his fellow teammates to do their best. Where can people find you if they want to keep up with you on socials? I’m having a blast streaming on Twitch (BoppyPea) just playing with fans and inviting my favorite players, but you can also follow me on Twitter/Instagram at BenjiPea. Have a great season everyone, and tell my old mate Caustic I said G’day 😉 Apex Legends Season 8 starts on February 2, and is available to play for free on PS4/5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and PC through Origin or Steam. We’re also expecting the Nintendo Switch version to be announced in time for Season 8 starting.

  • Apex Legends Fuse Heirloom revealed: Electric Guitar ‘The Razor’s Edge’ – Dexerto

Apex Legends Fuse Heirloom revealed: Electric Guitar ‘The Razor’s Edge’ Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends: Harbingers Collection event has Fuse’s heirloom ‘The Razor’s Edge’ as its crown jewel, giving Fuse players the ability to rock out with an electric guitar that doubles as a war axe. From his abrasive and explosive playstyle to emotes that have him doing air guitar as he dives into battle, Fuse is a very rock-and-roll coded character in Apex Legends. Players speculated what his emote could be and whether it’d lean into his robotic arm or penchant for explosives, but now that it’s been revealed, it’s hard to imagine Fuse’s heirloom could have been anything else. ‘The Razor’s Edge’ has finally been shown off by Respawn, and it’s a war axe that doubles as an electric guitar. This makes Fuse’s heirloom one of the most extravagant and eccentric in Apex Legends. Fuse heirloom finally revealed for Apex Legends Fuse has been out for a few years now, and, though he’s never been the most meta Legend when it comes to high-level play or the most popular pick, he’s got a dedicated player base that enjoys his focus on grenades and other high explosives. Now, the time has finally come for those who love playing Fuse to get their hands on an heirloom: ‘The Razor’s Edge’. Fuse’s guitar plays us into the collection event, giving it a heavy metal feel that goes well with the black and gold motif that the event’s skins hold. His animations see him shredding the strings as he shreds his competition, allowing the most dedicated Fuse players to win in style. The Apex Legends Harbingers Collection Event is coming on September 19, and those who buy out every item in the event will get their hands on Fuse’s heirloom.

  • Apex Legends Fuse buff in the works after devs reveal shocking statistic – Dexerto

Apex Legends Fuse buff in the works after devs reveal shocking statistic Respawn/EARespawn Entertainment have confirmed that they’re working on buffs for Fuse as the Season 8 legend has fallen down the rankings, and has the second-lowest win rate of all the characters. Fuse was introduced to the Apex Games at the start of Season 8, but plenty of players were skeptical about his abilities. The Aussie legend can keep enemies penned in with his Motherlode ultimate, and is able to fire off grenades better than anyone else with his tactical. Despite him being a mainstay in the early part of Season 8, pretty much as everyone wanted to test him out, he’s slipped down the popularity charts according to Respawn. As per the devs’ data, the Aussie is at the bottom when it comes to the win rate stakes, and that means that a change is needed. Daniel Klein, a Senior Game Designer at Respawn, touched on the fact that Fuse needs some tweaking on March 21, confirming there are plans in the works for him to be changed. “We have some plans for him, but nothing’s 100% yet. But yeah, he didn’t come in super strong like we wanted. It’s still very hard to predict how strong a character will be unless they have meaningful mobility (Octane/Horizon),” Klein commented. “We’ve gotta be careful not to fall victim to mobility creep as well: the more general mobility there is, the less fun the game becomes for everyone because you just can’t hit people,” he added. “This is why we’re removing some of that power from Horizon (we’re just reducing how quickly you can wriggle back and forth as you go up her gravity lift to make tracking her a little easier).” Comment byu/paradoxally from discussion inapexlegends As the dev notes, nothing is confirmed yet but they’ve got some idea. Previously, players have suggested a buff for his cluster grenade ability to make that a little more deadly. Though, who knows if Respawn will heed those calls. Either way, we’ll just have to wait and see what they do, but at least players who want to use Fuse can rejoice in knowing that he’s going to be buffed sooner rather than later.

  • Apex Legends Funko Pop! figures revealed at SDCC – Dexerto

Apex Legends Funko Pop! figures revealed at SDCC Funko / EAApex Legends, fresh off the announcement of their new statues, revealed at San Diego Comic Con there will be Funko Pop! figures representing the original characters found in the game. It was only a matter of time before Apex Legends capitalized on the success of their game by branching out and offering collectibles. Their Legends are just too detailed to have them only available digitally so fans can now get their hands on the statues or the Pop! figures. Both of these for revealed at SDCC but only the statues were officially unveiled to the public by the official Apex Legends Twitter page at the time of this writing. The Funko Pop! figures reveal comes from a screenshot taken by somebody at the event itself which was then uploaded to various social media channels including Reddit. Reddit user whodatenola1025 uploaded a picture of the screen to Reddit which showed the Pop! figure for all of the original Legends that are in the game. This list includes Bangalore, Bloodhound, Mirage, Lifeline, Pathfinder, Caustic, Gibraltar, and Mirage. This means that Octane and Wattson are not included in this initial run but there’s a chance they could join the rest of the gang at a later date. 600Apex Legends got off to a blazing fast start when it debuted in February but has cooled off significantly. Many players lamented the slower updates but Respawn always knew they had a very solid game at its core. Season 2 brought a lot of players back and with the announcement of these new collectibles, it looks like they’ll try to keep their popularity going outside of the confines of the video game. We will keep you posted for when an official release date is given for these figures.

  • Apex Legends: Full guide for Legends characters and their abilities – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Full guide for Legends characters and their abilities One thing that separates Apex Legends from other battle royale titles the unique way that the in-game characters are used. In traditional battle royale games, the characters that players pick to play are often just cosmetic aspects of the game and make no real difference. However, in Apex Legends, the characters have unique attributes that compliment each others’ skill-sets and makes teamwork that much more important. There are a total of eight characters, or ‘Legends’ as they’re called, six of which are available to players right away while two have to be unlocked by playing the game or purchasing. Bloodhound – Gibraltar – Lifeline – Wraith – Pathfinder – Bangalore – Mirage (unlockable) – Caustic (unlockable) – These Legends vary in their main gameplay style and purpose as some have great offensive potential, others are a defensive presence for the team, and a few are the main source of support for teammates. • New Apex Legends exploit unlocks free Origin Access pack – Dexerto

New Apex Legends exploit unlocks free Origin Access pack Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends released the Origin Access pack shortly after the game’s launch but a new exploit appears to allow anyone to claim the free loot. Though the loot box was intended to be an exclusive available only to Origin Access subscribers, players have found a workaround that grants the content using a bit of code. The Origin Access pack unlocks 1000 Apex coins, a Flatline Epic Weapon skin and a special Banner Badge, though the cheat will now let any PC player claim the prize. A previous exploit gave players access to the Twitch Prime Loot pack. The company had taken back the Legendary skin for Pathfinder from those that used the exploit, but it seems the awarded coins were left untouched. Read more: When does Apex Legends Season 1 begin? Battle Pass release date, new characters and weapons – Though EA probably did their due diligence to plug up the error in their backend to stop people from using the Twitch Prime exploit, it seems like it the company didn’t expect to run into the same problem again. The new workaround that gives players the Origin Access pack follows basically the same route as the cheat used to acquire the Twitch Prime Loot pack. While some members of the community were hesitant about the exploit due to fears of being banned, others said that the blame for using the cheat shouldn’t be on the player. Update, March 13, 7:30 EST: There are unconfirmed reports that some players are in fact now having their accounts banned if they are found to have used the exploit. Disregard the last tweet, apparently they are banning people for this, but didn’t ban people for the Twitch Prime gltich.. Don’t do it! — Apex Legends ~ Leaks & News (@ApexLeaksNews) March 12, 2019 Some people feel banning accounts would be unjustified however. “[The cheat is] literally a launch option,” one Redditor said. “If they have it available they can’t blame people for using it. Same as -Console in CSGO and CSSource for example and this game is running on a heavily modified source engine.” EA is sure to be working on a fix for the cheat, but at the time of writing it some players have still been seeing success with the exploit.

  • Apex Legends players divided over plans to continue for ’10-15′ more years – Dexerto

Apex Legends players divided over plans to continue for ’10-15′ more years Electronic ArtsApex Legends players have shared their thoughts on Respawn Entertainment’s plan to run the franchise for another decade or more. Talk of Apex Legends’ long-term future stems from Respawn recently establishing a third studio based out of Madison, Wisconsin. The new development house will focus on supporting Apex Legends. In explaining what this means for the IP’s future, Game Director Steven Ferreira told GamesIndustry.biz, “we believe in Apex as a franchise that’s going to be around for 10, 15 years or more…” Considering the trajectory of live-service games over the last few years, Ferreira’s comment may not seem too out of left field. However, this supposed 10-plus-year plan has some fans raising their eyebrows. Apex Legends players respond to 10+ year plan for game Redditor Thr33Knuckl3sD33p didn’t hold back punches when responding to the “10 to 15 years” statement about Apex Legends. The user hopes Respawn and EA figure out the game’s ongoing server issues in the near future but ended their post on the following note, “Respawn, get your s–t together, you are losing people that pay money for this s–t.” Several comments to the post believe Respawn and EA will run the Apex Legends franchise into the ground. One said: “If they believe they can squeeze one more penny out of the player base.” There are those who aren’t bothered by this notion, though, given how much money they’ve already invested in the battle royale. Another said: “I’ve spent way too much money on it… so I’d rather quit playing than be forced to [quit].” Meanwhile, other Apex fans hope the game won’t enjoy much in the way of longevity as they’d much prefer a new Titanfall game. “I would prefer a full Titanfall 3 with Apex as the BR offering in the package, akin to how MW2 is with Warzone.” It would seem the Apex community is mixed on what the future should hold. But the opening of a new Apex-focused satellite indicates Respawn’s plans are by no means short-term.

  • Apex Legends: Frag Drone possibly returning from Titanfall 2 according to leak – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Frag Drone possibly returning from Titanfall 2 according to leak A ‘Frag Drone’ has been found inside the files of one of the latest patches in Apex Legends, clearly inspired by the ‘Tick’ grenade from Titanfall 2. Apex legends has exploded in popularity in the battle royale genre, becoming the Fortnite they will need to keep the game fresh. With the upcoming battle pass being teased by Respawn to be released soon, fans are wondering what new items and legends they will see within the game and by the looks of things the ‘Frag Drone’ could be next. Although little is known about what role or how the ‘Frag Drone’ will play inside Apex Legends, It appears to be incredibly similar to the “Tick” drone that appeared in Titanfall 2 which could be deployed by simply throwing it on the ground. In the leak revealed by ApexLeaksNews, It has been described in the as an “Automated drone that seeks out nearby targets and explodes!” and could be potentially be seen as one of the abilities for an unreleased Legend. :rotating_light: EXCLUSIVE LEAK :rotating_light: The ‘Tick’ (Frag Drone) from Titanfall 2 is making a return to #ApexLegends! ‘Automatically seeks out targets and explodes!’ Like + Retweet :eyes::hugging_face: pic.twitter.com/VGbjpXDd1o — Apex Legends ~ Leaks & News (@ApexLeaksNews) March 17, 2019 ApexLegendsNews then goes on to state that they believe there is a strong chance the drone will be seen in Apex Legends very soon as it was found in the same files as the recent weapon additions to the game, the “Havoc” and the “L-star” were first leaked from. ^ that image is from the same file that the L-Star and Havoc was leaked from — Apex Legends ~ Leaks & News (@ApexLeaksNews) March 17, 2019 The release of the anticipated Battle Pass Season One which will be released by Respawn has been much anticipated by fans. Many are left wondering what other Titanfall 2 classic items could have the potential to be adapted into Apex Legends. As with any leak of game information, there’s a chance that plans could change – meaning that this “Frag Drone” may not be released in its currently leaked form or perhaps, may even be released with a different name.

  • Apex Legends FPS drops: Players angry as update causes performance issues – Dexerto

Apex Legends FPS drops: Players angry as update causes performance issues Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have been experiencing major frames-per-second (FPS) drops in their matches, possibly linked to an anti-cheat update for the game. Respawn Entertainment is working to get its battle royale to the best possible state before the start of Season 3 Meltdown, which could introduce Crypto among various changes in the Kings Canyon landscape. But leading up to the next chapter for Apex Legends, PC players are reporting “a huge drop in performance” which has been causing headaches and frustrations among some members of the game’s community. It wouldn’t be Crypto causing the frame drops that some Apex Legends players are reporting. Players have been noticing the spike in performance issues since a mid-September patch, while others believe that the problems could be linked to either the game’s anti-cheat measures or new in-game Crypto features. “It looks like some people playing on PC, including myself, are experiencing a huge drop in performance since (September) 19th,” Reddit user ‘n0_video’ said. “Some say it’s from the anti-cheat, others say it’s from the new update that added the Crypto stuff.” In some cases, players are reporting not being able to get results better than 45 FPS. But even more strange is that the problem seems to be flickering periodically for some, as they’ll go days without any issue before being hit with the problems again. FPS issues are ruining the Apex Legends experience for some players. “It happened right after the patch and then it went away after 2~ days without me doing anything at all,” one user said. “Now it’s back, I can’t get more than 45 FPS in some zones when I’m usually at 85 FPS everywhere.” Even in deserted parts of the Kings Canyon map where there isn’t much action happening, people are finding it difficult to keep their game from stuttering. “When the server melts, it does a sort of slow-mo stutter that can vary in severity,” another player said. “The last two days it has been low key stuttering all the time, in a very minor way, but people I play with have noticed too.” As of yet there’s no word on what could be causing the problem, but the Apex Legends devs are sure to look for a fix soon with Season 3 Meltdown on the horizon.

  • Apex Legends’ Forge comes to life with incredible ‘in-game’ model idea – Dexerto

Apex Legends’ Forge comes to life with incredible ‘in-game’ model idea Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer cgdaanpd]Last word from Respawn indicated that Forge is definitely not coming to Apex Legends, but one artist decided to build up the character so that fans could at least get a look at an ‘in-game’ model. There is a sizable, sentimental part of the Apex community who would like to see Forge make his way into the Arena somehow. But after his demise at the hands of Revenant, Respawn Design Director Jason McCord said that he was “super dead” and an appearance one day isn’t in the cards. This means that the best official look we’ll get of the Five-Time Hyper-Fighting Federation Champion is the few artist captures we have, along with the ‘Up Close and Personal’ Stories from the Outlands trailer. But for people dying to see how Forge could have turned out in the game, Daniel ‘SleepyDaew’ Hiew made their own design for the late-Legend that even turned the heads of a few Respawn artists. The translation from 2D to 3D is immaculate. With all of the regalia from Forge’s time as an MMA master to his unique left metal-arm; this looks like someone who would take over priority picks for Apex squads. We know that he was a larger-than-life character, and Respawn has a classification for those types of people in their game called ‘Fortified.’ So while we don’t have another 3D asset to compare how he would tower over other Legends, from simply the design aspect, this man is an absolute unit. The precision of the recreation is astounding, and it even through off a few devs like Respawn character artists like Jobye-Kyle Karmaker, Jeremy Jodoin, Patrick Yeung and more. Yo, sorry for the spam, noticed people are liking an old wip post, just plopping this here to show he’s actually done haha.#Forge #ApexLegends #RespawnEntertainment #SpinMeRightRound pic.twitter.com/PKPFGECEFs — SleepyDaew – Daniel Hiew (@SleepyDaew) July 15, 2020 “Yo this was shared on our Respawn chat and I thought it was our own character asset! This looks really good,” Yeung said of the render. Going by what the devs said, if there ever was a good, public image of how Forge would have looked like in Apex, this would be it. Forge fans have been wanting a bit more closure for a character that showed a ton of promise, and this design goes a long way to showing us how he’d have been presented in Apex Legends.

  • Apex Legends Flatline skin sparks yet another “pay to win” debate – Dexerto

Apex Legends Flatline skin sparks yet another “pay to win” debate Respawn EntertainmentA Flatline skin called “Teal Zeal” in the monthly store on Apex Legends has sparked debate on pay to win weapon skins a short time after the “Heat Sink” Flatline skin had its iron sights changed. Respawn changed a controversial Flatline skin, “Heat Sink”, following the conversation about the skin’s iron sights being “pay to win” in comparison to the default Flatline skin. Now, a Season 5 weapon skin that has turned up the in monthly store on Apex Legends has sparked the very same debate only a short time after the Heat Sink skin was changed. Yet another “pay to win” Apex Legends Flatline skin Cloud9’s PVPX posted a tweet pointing out there’s yet another “pay to win” Flatline skin in the monthly store. “Teal Zeal” is the topic of yet another debate around weapon skins in Apex Legends. While this isn’t a new weapon skin, many of the battle pass exclusive skins from the earlier days in Apex Legends don’t get attention until they get re-introduced to the store and to the much larger audience Apex Legends has now compared to its opening seasons. What makes this skin “pay to win” according to those who have sparked yet another discussion about the issue? A side-by-side comparison reveals a much less bulky set of iron sights for the skin than the default Flatline, something that the changes to the “Heat Sink” skin were meant to change. In the original post regarding the controversial Season 4 skin, the developers said they “heard feedback from some players that the Aim Down Sights (ADS) felt superior to any other skin available.” This was largely due to how much easier it was to see out of that ironsight, as well as the fact that it took up less space on the screen. The “Teal Zeal” skin also takes up much less space than the base Flatline’s optics, causing yet another “pay to win” debate around this weapon.

  • Apex Legends Flashpoint LTM overrun with “boosters” farming damage & kill badges – Dexerto

Apex Legends Flashpoint LTM overrun with “boosters” farming damage & kill badges Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends’ Flashpoint LTM has been taken over by boosters who are attempting to farm damage & kill badges before the mode is removed on May 3. On April 19, Apex Legends’ Unshackled thematic event arrived in-game and introduced a range of new Legendary cosmetics for Pathfinder, Crypto, Valkyrie, and more. Alongside the skins, the fan-favorite Flashpoint LTM was also added, putting a unique spin on the battle royale format by removing all healing items and replacing them with giant domes that regenerate players’ health. Although Respawn has been praised by the community for reintroducing the mode, not everyone is using the LTM for its intended purpose. As damage and kill badges can still be earned in Flashpoint, countless boosters are using the mode to farm collectibles, ruining the experience for other players. Badge boosters have taken over Flashpoint LTM As the giant domes can technically regenerate health and shields infinitely in a Flashpoint match, boosters are taking the opportunity to group up with other squads and farm badges. This has become a regular occurrence in the LTM since it arrived on April 19 with multiple squads all farming in different corners of Olympus, as showcased by Reddit user KLIPPEE. Countless mobile respawn beacons and dropships can be seen in the distance, all recovering players over and over again so they can get their hands on damage & kill badges. Unfortunately, the clip below isn’t an isolated case, with players revealing that they’re running into boosters in every single match: “Last night we had at least 2 groups farming in absolutely every single game of flashpoint, in some we had 3 to 4 groups.” A lot of players are confused about why Respawn allowed competitors to drop with a respawn beacon in the LTM, and why unlocks are enabled in Flashpoint: “So dumb to let players spawn with mobile beacons and also to not disable all badge unlocks for the LTM”. Respawn is yet to take action against these boosters or make any changes to prevent it from happening, so it’s hard to know if this issue is going to be fixed before the LTM is removed on May 3. Either way, there are going to be a lot more 20 kill and 4k damage badges in the Outlands in Season 13, but will they still be considered an achievement after this event?

  • Apex Legends fixes annoying Rampart & Treasure Pack bugs in Dec 1 patch – Dexerto

Apex Legends fixes annoying Rampart & Treasure Pack bugs in Dec 1 patch Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends devs have rolled out fixes for frustrating Season 7 bugs that makes players face an infinite loading screen and a separate glitch causing Rampart’s turret not to stick to the Trident. Treasure packs returned to Apex for Season 7, as a way to keep the battle pass interesting and give players something to come back and search for every single day, if you don’t get trapped, that is. The packs have become a significant part of Apex matches since players don’t want to miss one and fall behind on completing the set and miss out on some cosmetics. For some though, the packs have caused major issues during Season 7 though, as a bug would randomly lock them in a loading screen. That wasn’t all throwing players off. Rampart mains also found that, while it was advertised in the Season 7 trailer, the legend’s turret wouldn’t always stick to the new Trident vehicles. Both of these bugs have definitely been getting under players’ skin, but the good news is Respawn have rolled out a fix for both issues that will hopefully put an end to the incoveniences. “As an FYI, we’ve deployed a small patch to re-enable the ability to place Rampart’s turret on the Trident as well as provide a fix for players who are getting stuck on certain menu pages,” Apex wrote on Twitter on Dec. 1. This means that once you log in following the update, treasure packs should no longer get you caught in a loop, and Rampart can once again fire Sheila atop the Trident. HI FRIENDS! 🤖 As an FYI, we’ve deployed a small patch to re-enable the ability to place Rampart’s turret on the Trident as well as provide a fix for players who are getting stuck on certain menu pages. — Apex Legends (@PlayApex) December 1, 2020 Previous reports claimed that another update had been rolled out to try and fix the treasure pack glitch already, but if you’ve been on Apex’s Reddit recently you’ll see still numerous posts of people still encountering it, and a similar issue with getting stuck on the main loading screen as well. Despite a few bumps like this along the way, Season 7 has generally been well-received by the Apex community, so hopefully, this patch takes care of these issues for good and let us get back to playing.

  • Simple Apex Legends fix to Death Boxes would save so many lives – Dexerto

Simple Apex Legends fix to Death Boxes would save so many lives Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends’ Death Boxes can cause the most annoying lapses and even deaths in the battle royale, and a simple fix to the issue would save so many lives. When a player gets taken out they drop a Death Box filled with their loot and respective banner for teammates to attempt to respawn them. But fights in Apex Legends can get pretty messy. This can lead to a cluttered battlefield with these boxes stacked on each other or simply just in an unfortunate position that can catch players off guard. Something like that happened to Reddit user ‘Individual_Sink2383’ who found themselves stuck between a rock and a hard place, seeing as Death Boxes take a bit of patience to get rid of. While they were eventually able to get out of the spot, the snafu left them in a precarious spot for the rest of the game, eventually dying in the zone. This brought back painful memories for a lot of people in the Apex subreddit, leading some to propose simple fixes that could avoid these mishaps. “Death boxes should be punchable. No physics on them, but when you punch them they move away a bit,” one user suggested. Of course, there were people saying people should be able to walk through the crates, to make them passable objects. While simple in concept, there could be some drawbacks. An update like that could pose other problems such as getting shot through them or not being able to mount them for strategical angles, as other Redditors pointed out. But the concept could be something Respawn troubleshoots to find a more suitable solution. It would be a tricky one to figure out since the boxes can end up anywhere an Apex Legends player manages to die, but it looks like people in the community would appreciate a change.

  • Apex Legends fix can help constant crash issues while Respawn investigates – Dexerto

Apex Legends fix can help constant crash issues while Respawn investigates Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are experiencing game crashes before loading into a match. While some people found a measure of success with a simple fix, Respawn are working on a more meaningful fix. Updated: Sept 20 Respawn Entertainment found and are investigating the problem with animated banner poses, and have recommended players unequip them for now. We’re still continuing to work through issues causing higher-than-normal crashes, and we have hope that our patch scheduled for Wednesday will help. But with today’s patch we’re making progress. From all of us on the dev team: We deeply appreciate your patience with us. — Respawn (@Respawn) September 20, 2021 The devs are hoping to have a fix for the Apex banner pose crashes on Wednesday, Sept 22 to help get players get back into the game. Original story follows below… Respawn recently launched their Evolution Collection event update which brought Rampart’s Town Takeover to the game along with many buffs and nerfs for weapons or Legends. However, there’s been persistent roadblocks in the game since. The studio is already working to resolve Apex Legends’ server issues that have been lasting until the weekend, with Respawn extending the Season 10 rank split as a result of the interruptions. But another problem has prevented players from entering the game, with strange stalls crashing Apex seemingly when the ‘Your Squad’ or ‘connecting to lobby’ screen flashes. Your mileage may vary, but Reddit user ‘runitback6776’ and others have had some luck with getting into Apex Legends – but with a slight tweak to their banner poses. “I’ve found out the issue behind (most of) the crashing since this update before respawn did, all of my buddies have done this and now we are playing crash free,” they began. Apparently, players are pointing to purple Banner Poses (known as ‘Epic’ quality that come with animations) that are causing some crashes before loading into a game. “That’s why the constant crashes are happening at the ‘your squad’ and ‘connecting to lobby’ screen,” runitback6776 suggested. “Instead of using the purple banner poses, change it to a Rare pose instead that isn’t animated and the situation gets fixed. “I believe it has to also do with multiple pose animations at once but my squad changed it to blue outta my suggestion and we have not crashed since” While it’s hard to pinpoint the exact reason for the crashes in Apex for PlayStation, Xbox, and more, some people have been having success avoiding some of the stalls. As Respawn investigates the issues in Apex Legends, there should be less persistent problems, but we’ll have to wait for more updates soon.

  • Apex Legends’ first Season 12 Storm Point teaser points to new Legend Maggie – Dexerto

Apex Legends’ first Season 12 Storm Point teaser points to new Legend Maggie Respawn EntertainmentThe first teasers for Apex Legends Season 12 have dropped in-game on the Storm Point map – and all signs point towards Maggie as the game’s new Legend. Apex Legends players have long been accustomed to Respawn’s formula for dropping new content and Legends, with one new character dropping per season alongside a wealth of new skins, map changes, balancing adjustments, and map alterations. That looks set to be the case for Season 12, which is expected to drop around February 8, when the Season 11 Battle Pass expires. While no confirmation has yet come from Respawn Entertainment, leaks and teasers point towards Maggie as the game’s new Legend and, on January 21, the first in-game teasers all but confirm it. Maggie, who actually first appeared in Season 8 with the reveal of eccentric Aussie Fuse, is the childhood friend of the pyromaniac. She has long been rumored as the game’s Season 12 legends and a new in-game Storm Point teaser may just confirm it. On January 21, a few weeks ahead of Season 12’s expected release, players noticed a new teaser in the form of an aerial drop that crashes down into the Storm Point map. While at first aesthetically similar to a Care Package, closer inspection of the item shows it is different and appears to be part of a broken-up aircraft. For anyone who doesn’t know their Apex logos, that is from Salvo – where Fuse & Maggie are from. pic.twitter.com/5bZ0ahhGiu — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) January 21, 2022 It also features the Salvo logo – the home planet of Fuse and Maggie. Naturally, many took this as confirmation of Maggie’s upcoming arrival in the Apex Games. Apex lore has previously revealed Maggie as the childhood friend of Fuse, but the two had a major falling out after the latter chose to join the Apex Games. This is how Fuse lost his arm, and ultimately led to Maggie being presumed dead. Emphasis, here, on presumed. While it could be hinting at a different character from Salvo, it fits precisely with the leaks we’ve had so far. As always though, it remains unconfirmed until Respawn announces something concrete.

  • Apex Legends: First look at Crypto’s leaked Aerial Drone abilities – Dexerto

Apex Legends: First look at Crypto’s leaked Aerial Drone abilities Respawn EntertainmentData miners scouring through the Voidwalker event officially kicked off on Tuesday, September 3, and brought with it a host of new cosmetic items and challenges for players to enjoy throughout the 14 days it runs for. While many focused on the exciting new additions, data miners immediately started searching through the patch for hidden files, with Reddit user Miniguyw finding Crypto’s drone device, seemingly confirming prior leaks regarding his abilities. On August 15, That1MiningGuy revealed that Crypto would use an Aerial Drone as part of his tactical ability, allowing him to survey the landscape around him while he ventures through King’s Canyon in search of victories, while his ultimate would send out an EMP blast to shut down the electronic items of opponents. Now, Miniguyw has given Apex Legends fans their first look at the robot, uploading a video showing the drone in action, rattling off an EMP strike, and even what it will look like when it’s been deployed or recalled. According to previous leaks, the Aerial Drone will act as a surveillance camera, and will last for 40 seconds with a 200 meter range. While it can be destroyed by opponents, what makes it especially useful is the fact that it can hack doors and loot bins, and can even pick up the banners of fallen teammates, making it easier to collect them and revive your teammates. There’s currently no official release date for Crypto, but the fact that his drone has appeared in the game’s files does indicate that he is almost ready, with a Season 3 release in October a distinct possibility.

  • Apex Legends: First look at Wattson’s finisher and abilities in Season 2 – Dexerto

Apex Legends: First look at Wattson’s finisher and abilities in Season 2 Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment gave us a glimpse of what Wattson will be capable of in Apex Legends Season 2 at EA Play, but her finisher and abilities look even better based on newly-leaked gameplay. The second season launches in the popular battle royale game on July 2, with a number of eyebrow-raising map changes already revealed ahead of schedule, and now Wattson’s most effective abilities have now been showcased for players to see. Respawn previously confirmed that the character has three main battle techniques in an announcement on June 8 – Perimeter Security, Spark of Genius, and Interception Pylon. So, it was only going to be a matter of time before players would be able to see just how effective those skills are in battle. Leaked Apex Legends trailers show off Wattson The latest Season 2 trailers, which were leaked on June 27, showed a number of insane potential map changes in Kings Canyon, the new L-Star SMG weapon, as well as yet another look at the impact dragons, flyers, and Leviathans that may be in Apex Legends for the second season. However, there was also time for a dedicated segment for Wattson, where fans were able to see the true power of her abilities. While there have been many other leaked details regarding the character and her electrical fence defense mechanism, there’s no doubt that it looks even more exciting in-game, rather than just having a few screenshots to browse through. (Timestamp at 1:25 for new Wattson footage) In particular, Wattson’s finishing move is very different to other legends in the game, eviscerating an enemy with just one poke of the finger. We also get an idea of how it will look when shooting and moving around the map too, when selecting her in-game. Apex Legends Season 2 is set for a July 2 launch and fans will be expecting it to go one step further than the previous. If it was more content players were looking for, it seems unlikely that it will disappoint with all of these new additions.

  • Apex Legends Firing Range set for big improvements as Mobile version is way better – Dexerto

Apex Legends Firing Range set for big improvements as Mobile version is way better Respawn EntertainmentThe Firing Range in Apex Legends has remained pretty much the same since launch, outside of a few small tweaks, but with Apex Legends Mobile now having a massively improved Firing Range, the main game could be looking at some big changes soon too. The Firing Range is mainly used to getting your aim warmed up and trying out Legend abilities outside of the intensity of a proper match. But, there are some features, big and small, that players have been requesting for a long time. These include infinite ammo for weapons, difficulty settings for bots, and even some practice modes with friends. To the surprise of some players, these exact features have been incorporated into the closed beta of Apex Legends Mobile – a standalone game that is currently only available in select regions. This is also in addition to a Team Deathmatch mode, another feature players of the console, PC, and Switch version have been asking for. Firing Range changes coming to Apex? These changes in the mobile version have been praised by players, while also wondering why they haven’t made it to the main game yet. Apex Legends producer Josh Medina dropped a cryptic hint that the infinite ammo option might be coming to Apex Legends proper soon. But, more than this, the first look at various modes, such as setting difficulty for bots and playing ‘Free For All’ against friends, got players hoping that these too will make it to the main game. You can also play against your friends (1v1s!) and set rules like weapons, time limit, score limit. pic.twitter.com/AOfreS2TI7 — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) September 25, 2021 Players have been having their own ‘1v1’ battles in the Firing Range for a long time, but this would allow the player to choose specific weapons, as well as set a time and score limit. These changes would hopefully not be too time-consuming for the team at Respawn to implement, especially as they already have a working version to base it on from the mobile game. However, there’s no indication of when these features might come to the full version of Apex, so while it might be in Season 11, it could be later down the line too.

  • Apex Legends Firing Range gets massive overhaul in Season 17 with new map, 1v1 pit, movement practice – Dexerto

Apex Legends Firing Range gets massive overhaul in Season 17 with new map, 1v1 pit, movement practice After being relatively unchanged since releasing years ago in Apex, the beloved Firing Range is getting a total overhaul in Season 17, Arsenal. Here are all the changes you can look forward to on the new Firing Range. The range is where you come to get some reps in with the weapons, test out Legend abilities, and even 1v1 each other. But, it was still very limited, and despite some big improvements in Season 16, with more competent dummies and stats, it has always felt like the firing range had more potential. Perhaps Season 17 will finally realize that potential though, with a completely new experience being added. Here are all the changes to the Firing Range in Apex Legends this season. New Firing Range map in Season 17 Sadly, the old Firing Range map is being replaced. This new and much bigger Firing Range now has room for practicing with all the weapons at different ranges, a 1v1 ‘Duel Pit’, and a vert course to practice movement and more. There’s even a town setting with buildings for more realistic practice, more like the engagements found in real matches. This area will feature doors and windows on the buildings too, as these are also important for interactions with abilities. Dummies now fight back In the new Firing Range, dummies are now “fully customizable”, so you can make them run, strafe and fight back. You can also increase or decrease the difficulty settings of the dummies to get a harder challenge if you want. 1v1 pit 1v1s have been done before in the firing range, but the onus was on players to set them up, reviving each other and using the map as it was – which was never designed with this in mind. As Respawn knows how much players enjoy this, there is now a dedicated Duel Pit for 1v1 combat. And, to make it even easier, it will be possible to join in-progress Firing Range sessions, so you can invite a friend to your game. Movement practice Becoming a great Apex Legends player is not just about good aim and mastering the Legends. The truly best players in the world are also masters of movement. Sliding, strafing, jumping, wall bouncing, and all the more advanced movement techniques can take hundreds of hours to truly be good at, but the new Vert Course should make that much easier to practice. Respawn describes this update as a “majorly expanded Firing Range”, and it will allow you to hone your skills in combat, movement and abilities. Season 17 of Apex Legends goes live on May 9, and adds the new Legend Ballistic. • Apex Legends Firing Range gets major update in Season 16 – Dexerto

Apex Legends Firing Range gets major update in Season 16 Respawn EntertainmentThe firing range in Apex Legends has remained mostly unchanged since it was first added to the game in 2019, but finally, in Season 16, it is getting some much-needed improvements. The firing range is the go-to place to try out new weapons and attachments, hone your recoil control, try out a legend’s abilities, or even practice 1v1 vs a friend. But, it has had fairly limited functionality, with just some static dummies to shoot and some ziplines to fly on. It’s also been hampered by the lack of infinite ammo. All of this and more is resolved in Season 16, with the range getting an overhaul with new stats, dummie settings, and yes, even infinite ammo. All changes to Apex firing range in Season 16 Dummie Movement First up, you can now make the dummies much more challenging. You can make them strafe left to right, and increase or decrease the speed at which they do this. You can even make them crouch, and do all of this randomly to really keep you on your toes. You can also change the shield level of the dummies, all the way up to red evo. Dynamic Stats When firing at the dummies, you will also now see an overlay of stats at the top of the screen. These include shots fired, damage dealt, headshots, kills, and accuracy as a percentage. Hit Markers New hit indicators show up and remain on screen for a few seconds after firing. These allow you to see the recoil pattern of each weapon, to help you master it. In addition, you can now turn friendly fire on or off. Infinite Ammo Finally, there is infinite ammo in the firing range. It’s not on by default however, you have to turn on the ‘infinite reloads’ setting. This means if for whatever reason you want to have limited ammo, it is still an option. Respawn also said that this is just the first of “several” rounds of updates planned for the Firing range over coming seasons. Season 16 is also introducing a new TDM mode – check out the details here.

  • Apex Legends finally reveals Bangalore’s backstory in new Stories from the Outlands – Dexerto

Apex Legends finally reveals Bangalore’s backstory in new Stories from the Outlands RespawnApex Legends’ Stories from the Outlands: Gridiron gives us a whole new look at Bangalore’s story, including the origins of her heirloom skin and more. Bangalore is one of the OG Apex Legends and has been playable since day one in the battle royale. On January 4, 2022, Respawn finally filled in the gaps of her story with a brand new video. Called “Gridiron,” the new short is about Bangalore and her brother’s run-in with an IMC Pilot. It’s a major nostalgia trip for Titanfall fans and it explains how Bangalore acquired her Heirloom item. Bangalore confirmed to be IMC Grunt We already knew about Bangalore’s brother Jackson, but this new story fills in some cracks of what we don’t know about her. Funnily enough, it also confirms the inspiration for her character was an IMC Grunt from the Titanfall games. This was already heavily hinted at with her voice lines, and her hatred of Flyers. In the beginning of Gridiron, she’s taken down about as easily as you’d expect against an enemy Pilot. After waking up from her injuries, Bangalore, being the loyal soldier she is, contacts the IMC to continue fighting. However, the Pilot who finds them is more interested in killing Jackson. We won’t spoil it, but it perfectly explains why Bangalore rocks a Pilot’s Data Knife as her Heirloom. Plenty of fans in the comments suggested Apex should be the next game to get a Netflix series like League of Legend’s Arcane, and it’s not hard to see why with stories and characters of this caliber. However, watching Gridiron will give you a strong desire to log in and play some Bangalore for yourself. So don’t say we didn’t warn you, soldier.

  • Apex Legends finally nerfing aim assist in Season 22 – Dexerto

Apex Legends finally nerfing aim assist in Season 22 Respawn/EAApex Legends will, at last, be nerfing aim assist in Season 22, with Respawn admitting that it has been “too strong” in the last few seasons. Over the last few years, Respawn Entertainment has had to combat a few different problems within Apex Legends. Cheaters have, at times, run wild, but that’s not all. The game’s servers have struggled to cope with the demand, and players are always wanting fresh content. However, there has been another constant bugbear – aim assist. With Apex having crossplay lobbies, PC players have complained that they’re on the back foot against controllers. Many pros have even made the switch from keyboard and mouse to a controller as well. Despite players making calls to outright remove aim assist, Respawn aren’t and won’t do that. However, they will nerf it in the brand-new Season 22. And, it’ll be a significant nerf as well. Respawn have confirmed that aim assist is currently “too strong,” especially when it comes to PC players using controllers, and are reducing it’s strength by 25%. They believe that will bridge the gap for players in crossplay lobbies, while keeping an even playing field and competitive integrity. As noted, it’s been a bit of a long time coming for an aim assist nerf. Respawn last touched on it prior to Season 18, admitting they had plans to change it but were unsure as to when. Obviously, it has become so annoying that it is finally time for the developers to take action. Plenty of players, especially in the professional scene, have claimed that aim assist is simply “unfair.” Others have likened it to a “soft aimbot” that some players use as a crutch in their gameplay. If these changes don’t pan out, then the Apex devs will have to go back to the drawing board. But, for now, it is a positive and welcome change.

  • Apex Legends finally makes long-awaited holospray change – but kept it secret – Dexerto

Apex Legends finally makes long-awaited holospray change – but kept it secret Respawn/EAApex Legends players have noticed that Respawn have made a slight change to Holosprays that they didn’t mention in the patch notes, but it’s something fans have wanted for a long time. Just like pretty much every multiplayer game on the market these days, Respawn Entertainment have dipped into the cosmetics side of things – offering fans the ability to buy weapon skins, character skins, and a whole host of other items. While skins have been around in Apex since the start, one of the more recent additions has come in the form of Holosprays. Introduced back in Season 6, these Holosprays are a way to taunt enemies after you’ve killed them, as you can leave a personal message from your legend of choice. However, after a few have been placed down, the sprays can cause a bit of visual clutter and have previously made it difficult to see players who may be standing behind them. Though, that has since changed. The under-the-radar tweak was noted by YouTuber Skeptation, who highlighted the fact that now, when holosprays are placed, they will fold down to the ground if you aim down sights near them. This means that you no longer have to worry about an enemy being tough to see behind a Holospray, but players who have used them as cover before will now miss out. As the YouTuber notes, it wasn’t mentioned in the patch notes for the Awakening Collection Event, but it has apparently only been happening after the update went live. Why Respawn didn’t choose to mention it is anyone’s guess. Obviously, it’s not the biggest or most pressing change in the game, but it is something fans have been requesting for quite some time. So, plenty will be pleased. Plus, if you hadn’t noticed it, you’re not alone, but just be glad that things have finally been tweaked.

  • Apex Legends finally makes long-awaited Firing Range change for Season 15 – Dexerto

Apex Legends finally makes long-awaited Firing Range change for Season 15 Respawn/EARespawn Entertainment are making a rather big change to Firing Range in Apex Legends Season 15, as players will now be able to test every legend. With each new season of Apex Legends, Respawn Entertainment delivers a new character for players to unlock and begin on their road to mastering. Even though players have their favorite legends from the pre-existing roster, plenty quickly pay the 750 coin cost to unlock the new one. Why? Well, they want to get on board with the new season hype and see if they’ve got a new favorite character to start using in-game. For the longest time, players have asked Respawn to give them the option to test legends before they buy them. Some have suggested doing this through a limited-time mode, similar to the map tours we’ve seen previously, while others have asked them to do it through the Firing Range. Apex Legends “unlocking” all characters in Firing Range Well, when Season 15 launches, those players will get their wish as Respawn is “unlocking” every legend to be used in the Firing Range. “Having trouble deciding on which Legend to unlock next? Want to try a few different tacticals and ultimates before pulling the trigger? Now you can!” the devs said in their pre-season blog, confirming the change. This means you will no longer have to purchase a legend just to test their abilities – or hope that a new Firing Range bug randomly lets you spawn as them. You can now simply drop in and start getting to grips with them. It’s a perfect time for Respawn to do it, really, seeing as they’re releasing Catalyst in Season 15 and she’s going to have some abilities that the Apex Games has seen before – especially the Dark Veil ultimate. So, make sure to drop in and take advantage of the new change, you might just fall in love and find a new character to main.

  • Apex Legends finally has a “chill” mode & players love it – Dexerto

Apex Legends finally has a “chill” mode & players love it Respawn EntertainmentRespawn added a new mode in Apex Legends Season 22 that players love because it lets them chill and practice their mechanics without hopping into a real game. The mode, Bot Royale, was added as a way for newer players still learning the game to test the Apex Legends waters against a smaller lobby of bot opponents. The same rules from the main Battle Royale mode still apply, just with a shorter game time. Surprisingly, veteran players have been the ones to praise the mode as a “chill” way to get games in. One player detailed on Reddit how they had been tired of getting “destroyed” in matches and wanted a better way to play Apex that didn’t frustrate them. “Last night I saw Bot Royale. I gave it a shot and I enjoyed the hell out of it. No try-hards except myself playing as well as I can and winning,” a player said in a post. The poster said they expected to be downvoted into oblivion. However, many other Apex Legends players agreed that the mode was a much-needed break from the competitive grind. “It’s what Apex lacked the most… one single mode where you can get better without getting infuriated,” one user said. Players also praised the mode for letting them try out Legends they normally wouldn’t put the time into because of how badly they would perform against real opponents. For many players, the mode’s only flaw is that it’s pretty easy and could benefit from a difficulty slider to make bot teammates and enemies smarter. “The one game I played, both of my bot teammates jumped into the lava and died at the same time. They didn’t even try to escape; they just burned to death… I’m not opposed to a more chill mode with easier enemies, but it’d be neat if we could toggle the difficulty,” one player said. Overall, Apex Legends players seem to be enjoying Season 22 along with its new content, map, and modes with only some slight complaints.

  • Apex Legends finally getting long-awaited feature to combat toxic players – Dexerto

Apex Legends finally getting long-awaited feature to combat toxic players Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends data miner found new game files suggesting the FPS is finally getting new features to combat toxicity. Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment has been looking for ways to combat toxicity between players for quite some time. Like plenty of other games, you are able to report toxic teammates and avoid playing with them in the future, but players have wanted additional changes. Now, a new leak suggests the battle royale will finally be getting some long-awaited changes to fight off undesirable player conduct, involving a feature that can automatically mute players. Apex Legends leaks reveal new features KralRindo, a reliable Apex Legends leaker and data miner found some game files suggesting new anti-toxic behavioral features are coming to the game. Their tweet about the files they found reads: “‘Chat Filter’ localizations added with the latest patch. ‘Determines which players to receive text and voice chat from. Players who do not pass the filter will be automatically muted.’” These changes, if implemented, would be a massive step towards combating toxicity within the battle royale. “Chat Filter” localizations added with latest patch “Determines which players to receive text and voice chat from. Players who do not pass the filter will be automatically muted” pic.twitter.com/fqQCNuYEwA — KralRindo (@kralrindo) December 10, 2021 The new “Chat Filter” feature could add an extra layer to avoid communicating with unsavory teammates. Although communication is quite important in Apex, being forced to chat over voice-comms with annoying players isn’t fun for anybody, and hopefully, these changes will make the game a more positive experience.

  • Apex Legends leaks reveal ‘Arena’ game mode finally on the way – Dexerto

Apex Legends leaks reveal ‘Arena’ game mode finally on the way Respawn EntertainmentRespawn could finally be adding a new “Arena” game mode to Apex Legends as soon as Season 7, according to new datamined code added to the backend of the battle royale’s main menu in the recent Aftermarket update. [jwplayer rSmq5Fo4] The datamined code in question details a new “Arena” mode, accessible through the Apex Legends main menu. These code strings, shared by Shrugtal on Oct. 13, seem to be linked to the battle royale’s playlist UI (user interface) in the loading lobby. “Code was added with the 6.1 patch to support UI slots on the “Play” Menu for a new “Arena” mode,” Shrugtal confirmed. Right now, the string for “arenas_mode” is set to “false,” suggesting at some point in the future that option will be flicked on. There’s also an “if(DEV)” string in there too; meaning playtesters may already have their hands on the new mode. Code was added with the 6.1 patch to support UI slots on the “”Play”” menu for a new “”Arena”” mode. Wondering if they’re planning to transfer the Flashpoint-style healing into a smaller arena-sized squads mode. Would greatly help warming up and training for Apex. pic.twitter.com/K02xMcdKSu — Shrugtal (@shrugtal) October 12, 2020 The question we’re left with in regards to the “Arena” mode is; what is it? Shrugtal seems to offer up a few answers, which we here at Dexerto are inclined to agree with. If Apex Legends really is adding a ‘Team Deathmatch’ style playlist, it won’t be exactly like the Titanfall 2 playlists of old, we can assume. Instead, it may be some variant of the new Flashpoint limited-time mode which debuted in the Aftermarket update. Shrugtal theorized—and we should mention these were just suggestions, not more leaks—it could be a “smaller squads mode”. It may also have some “Flashpoint-style healing” thrown into the “Arena” mix as well, to replace respawn stations. Skulltown to return in “Arena” playlist? If Apex Legends really is adding an “Arena” playlist in the next few seasons, the battle royale is going to, of course, need some smaller maps to host the game mode on. One perfect option is Skulltown, which the developers have admitted they do want to bring back in one form or another. The tight street area would be perfect for a fast-paced, smaller squads-focused Arena game mode, if Respawn went that way. Other good areas from across Kings Canyon and World’s Edge include Capitol City, which was destroyed in Season 4, or Apex’s ever-popular Sorting Factory. Slum Lakes, Market, The Train Yard, and more are also solid options for smaller maps. Considering this leak is only a small main menu UI update, however, there’s no clues to what the potential “Arena” game mode may actually look like. Right now, we’ll have to wait and see! As for when it could be released, that’s got a big question mark slapped on it, for now. It’s still in testing, so Season 7 is the earliest it could arrive. Season 8 may even be a more realistic prediction though, considering development time. For now, sit tight Apex Legends fans; an “Arena” mode is finally on the way!

  • Apex Legends finally gets a solo mode, but there’s a catch – Dexerto

Apex Legends finally gets a solo mode, but there’s a catch Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment have revealed that Apex Legends players will soon be able to jump into a brand new Solos mode and it could be here to stay. The new game mode will land in the popular battle royale title on August 13 as part of its Iron Crown Collection event, meaning players will finally get to run around Kings Canyon without teammates for the first time. This is something that’s been demanded by members of the game’s online community since it was launched back in February, but there’s a slight catch. Apex Legends will be able to battle alone with the new Solos mode. The developers announced the news on August 6 using the official Apex Twitter account and revealed that it will be limited time mode, as seen in the tweet below. Read More:Fortnite, PUBG and others, but this one will more than certainly be met with increased optimism from fans of Apex. Hopeful players might be thinking this looks to be a perfect way for Respawn to test a different way of playing, before announcing something more permanent later down the line, but there has been no official word on any plans to do that as of yet. The new Solos LTM is set to run from August 13 – August 27. Respawn previously promised the “most fan requested” feature since launch would be coming soon… Is this it? Solos could be here to stay! (Update) Respawn have since taken to Reddit to communicate with players, with comments suggesting that Solos could actually be much more than an LTM, but potentially here to stay. “On 8/13 we’ll be trying out a Solos Mode in Apex for a limited time,” a dev posted on the Apex Legends subreddit. “We’ll talk more about Solos when it’s live and you’ve had a chance to play it. For now we’re going to put it out there and see what happens and what kind of feedback we get.” This all but confirms that the upcoming LTM will be used as somewhat of a trial period and, depending on feedback, could be something the team pursues moving forward. Expect more news to land on the day of the LTM’s release. Last updated on August 6, 2019 at 14:50 (EST). –

  • Apex Legends finally gets 120hz on next-gen consoles in Season 20 – Dexerto

Apex Legends finally gets 120hz on next-gen consoles in Season 20 SteamApex Legends is finally set to make a long-awaited change for console players in Season 20 as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S players will have 120hz gameplay – and PS5 controllers will finally use haptic triggers. It’s been five years since Respawn Entertainment first launched Apex Legends and made a massive splash on the battle royale market. In that time, the futuristic battle royale has undergone a fair few changes with the devs introducing a host of new maps, new legends, and overhauling a few different gameplay features. However, while Respawn have made some massive changes, they have left players hanging on for some long-standing tweaks. Some of these, including cross-progression over different platforms, as well as a next-gen update for consoles, have been finally made but others remain outstanding. Apex Legends finally gets 120hz gameplay in Season 20 Well, a few of those are changing in Season 20, as console players will now get 120-hertz gameplay and put it almost on par with high-end PC users. That will make things a lot smoother for those on consoles – especially in gunfights and throwing out abilities. However, you’ll need a top monitor to take advantage of the update to 120hz, so be sure yours can handle it. On top of that, there will be a PlayStation 5 specific change too. There will be haptic feedback on the PS5 pads, including adaptive triggers. So, if you’ve stumped up for one, your purchase will finally pay off. Of course, there will be a handful of bigger changes to the battle royale in general as well. Ranked is getting yet another overhaul, shields will no longer be available in ground loot, and there is a new Straight Shot mode. Season 20 is looking to be a bit of a restart for the battle royale, especially as the player count has dropped off in recent seasons. Though, who knows if it’ll ever completely bounce back.

  • Apex Legends finally fixes major issue ruining Solo matches – Dexerto

Apex Legends finally fixes major issue ruining Solo matches Apex Legends currently has a limited time solo mode, running until August 27, but it is being ruined by some players ‘teaming’ up, thankfully Respawn have finally given players a way to help stop the problem. Fans have been asking for a proper way to play Apex Legends solo since the game launched in February, and the developers delivered with the Iron Crown Collection event. The Iron Crown event gives players a chance to play by themselves and a to obtain some exclusive skins – although there has been a lot of criticism about the way that the skins were implemented. Adding insult to injury, players are finding out how to team together in the mode to ruin the solo experience for other players. To do this, players simply time up their queue, so that the enter the same match on the same server, intentionally queuing together in an effort to squad up in solos. Reddit user and Apex Legends player kavik7 uploaded a video showing an army of Pathfinders hunting him down and working together. Of course, in the regular squad modes, each team is limited to only one Legend, but this restriction is totally avoided by teaming in solos. It’s definitely an unsportsmanlike thing to do, but, unfortunately, it isn’t uncommon in other multiplayer games, especially battle royale titles. However, Respawn has delivered a way to report them – if you’re on PC. You can still report others if you’re on PS4 or Xbox One, but the reports will have to go through Sony or Microsoft respectively instead of going directly to Respawn. This reporting system was spotted by Reddit user ApexVids. Although you might not have run into teamers yourself just yet, Respawn decided enough was enough and gave players the option to report those cooperating with the enemy. The Iron Crown event runs until August 27, but that doesn’t mean the solo mode will be gone forever. Respawn encourages players to share their thoughts on the mode and that feedback will lead to whether or not solos will be here to stay.

  • Apex Legends finally adds punishment for rage quitters – Dexerto

Apex Legends finally adds punishment for rage quitters Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment have made another major change to Apex Legends by re-introducing a punishment for players that decide to abandon their squads during matches. The in-game prompt that appears for those looking to exit the action earlier than they should do has been tweaked again, meaning the return of a punishment system. Players that decide to leave matches will now be warned of a future matchmaking delay, a move that many members of the game’s online community have welcomed with open arms. After all, nobody wants to be matched up with teammates who will run for the hills at the first sign of gunfire. For those who aren’t aware, players that have already been eliminated from a game, cannot be respawned, and decide to leave are absolutely fine to do so. Players leaving a team that isn’t full also won’t be affected by any matchmaking delays should they head for the exit. This punishment only affects players that are still alive and have the potential to help their team in the game. In a post to the Apex Legends subreddit, user trashbag_irl informed other fans of the change. One player appears to have worked out just how the punishment system works, too. Redditor Smashmundo says that leaving three matches in a row will result in a five minute ban from matchmaking in Apex Legends, and increasing that leave tally to four matches would result in a further 10 minute ban. Many Reddit users seem to have responded positively to the news, with the post attracting over 26,000 upvotes at the time of writing, but one player thinks the punishments may need to go a step further to have a real impact. “It’s extremely lenient and I would prefer it was less [matches until getting a temporary ban], because I strongly doubt that’s going to be much of a deterrent,” the user wrote. Whether or not this change will be for the better and succeed in preventing players from leaving sessions early remains to be seen, but many members of the game’s community certainly feel it’s at least a step in the right direction.

  • Apex Legends finally adds killcams but there’s a catch – Dexerto

Apex Legends finally adds killcams but there’s a catch Respawn EntertainmentAfter numerous reports, it seems Apex Legends finally received killcams in-game. However, there’s a catch to them. Apex Legends is currently at the midpoint of the season, and with it comes the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth event. However, the event hasn’t landed as well as the developers could’ve hoped, with player outrage through the roof over the cost of all the cosmetics. In anticipation of the mid-season checkpoint, Respawn released patch notes with a few changes to Legends, weapon balancing, and bug fixes. Yet the biggest addition that went completely unmentioned is that the game finally received killcams. Of course, there’s a catch. Apex Legends gets killcams in Mixtape mode As spotted by Twitter/X user DANNYonPC, Apex Legends now has killcams. However, the catch is that they’re only available in the Mixtape mode, aka the playlist featuring TDM, Gun Run, and Control. Other players have shared their discoveries with many pleasantly surprised at the addition. Most of the discoveries have been quite humorous with players sharing how caught off guard they were. Of course, the addition of killcams in the Mixtape mode raises the question of whether or not this feature would hit the standard battle royale experience. However, with that, Respawn seemingly faces a dilemma, as killcams in battle royales versus standard multiplayer experiences could ruin the integrity of the last man standing mode. Perhaps, Respawn is just testing this feature to see how it’s received by the player base. Stay tuned for any future updates on the situation.

  • Apex Legends finally adds DDOS protection in Ranked to save high-rank players – Dexerto

Apex Legends finally adds DDOS protection in Ranked to save high-rank players Respawn EntertainmentRespawn has announced that Apex Legends players in Diamond, Master, and Predator will receive DDOS protection in Ranked. Although a lot of Apex Legends players are satisfied taking on opponents in pubs, others want an extra level of competitiveness, and that’s where Ranked comes into play. In this mode, players of a similar skill level are pitted against each other and rewarded points based on their performance. Climbing up the tiers to Diamond, Master, and Predator is the ultimate goal for the Ranked community, but unfortunately, not everyone is willing to earn RP fairly. While aimbots and third-party software are a serious problem, so is the use of server attacks to shut down lobbies. Well, Respawn has finally announced a prevention system for DDOS attacks and it’s sparked a huge amount of praise from praise and players alike. DDOS protection added to Apex Legends Ranked On January 25, Respawn took to Twitter to announce that Predator, Master, and Diamond players will receive DDOS protection in their Ranked lobbies. You’ll know your match is protected as they’ll be a “small shield icon symbol” next to your server. While Respawn hasn’t shared any details on the added security system, it’s great news for high-ranked players who don’t have to worry about unfairly losing RP to server attacks. It’s worth noting that Respawn has said this system is “ever-evolving”, so it’s likely more improvements will be rolled out in the future to make it more secure. As expected, this news sparked a massive amount of positive feedback from players and pros, with ImperialHal, Nicewigg, Apryze, and sweet all calling the update a “huge W”. Security Analyst at Respawn Conor ‘Hideouts’ Ford even took to Twitter to reveal how “excited” he is about the DDOS protection and vowed “this is the first” of many significant improvements. This is a feature high-ranked players have been requesting for a long time, so seeing it finally implemented will be great news for those wanting to make the climb to Diamond, Master, and Predator. Now, it’s just a case of waiting for Season 16 and seeing what other exciting changes Respawn has in store.

  • Apex Legends finally adding ‘no fill’ option for solo players – Dexerto

Apex Legends finally adding ‘no fill’ option for solo players Respawn Entertainment/EAWith the release of the Chaos Theory patch on March 9, Apex Legends players will now have a ‘no fill’ option when queuing up for a game, finally giving solo players a chance to avoid teammates, albeit with a bit of a challenge. If you’ve been craving for a way to play Apex Legends solo, without other players on your team dragging you down, then Respawn has finally addressed those wishes in the new event. Despite the developer’s desire to keep Apex Legends a team-based game, they recognize the desire of some players not to have to worry about random teammates. In the Chaos Theory update on March 9, 2021, Respawn are finally adding a “no-fill” option to the matchmaking, which will allow players who want to play by themselves to jump in solo, similarly to how the feature works in other battle royale games like Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone. How does “no fill” work in Apex Legends? Activating the feature is pretty simple. An option to “Fill Teammates” will be located above the game mode selection. With the box checked, the game will operate like normal, filling your squad with one or two more people depending on the game mode that you selected. If you don’t have the “Fill Teammates” option turned on, however, the game won’t search for other players, and you’ll be thrown into a match by yourself. Of course, you won’t be going into some special “no fill” playlist either, instead you simple won’t have other players on your team, meaning you’ll still have to fight other squads full of however many players your current mode supports. Apex Legends “no fill” limitations While the addition of the “no fill” option will seemingly allow for new ways to play the game, Respawn also points out that there are some limitations in place for the option right now. The biggest one right now is the fact that matches can only have six “no fill” players in total. The developers said this was done in order to not “greatly disrupt…the pacing of the game,” something that’s been a major concern for them for a while now. Read More: Apex Legends Chaos Theory update patch notes – In addition, the “no fill” option is also not available in Ranked mode, as the focus there still remains very much team-focused. Respawn gave some examples of why you might want to use no-fill: Focus on completing certain Daily and Weekly challenges – Warm up, drop hot, and get into lots of fights – Challenge yourself—can you win a round of Duos alone? How about Trios? – Experience the latest lore teaser on your own – Explore the map and experiment with characters you haven’t tried before; Take an opportunity to learn a bit more about the game at your own pace. – All in all, while this “no fill” option is a great addition, it’s seemingly the best option that solo players will have. Just as recently as January 2021, Respawn said they wouldn’t be adding a pure Solos mode into the game permanently as it negatively affected the title, so players will just have to live with this option for now. It’s worth pointing out that anything regarding this feature can change any time, with Respawn tweaking it however they see fit, so don’t be surprised if more restrictions or improvements get put in place as time goes on.

  • Apex Legends Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth event patch notes: New mode, buster sword, skins, more – Dexerto

Apex Legends Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth event patch notes: New mode, buster sword, skins, more Respawn EntertainmentThe Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth crossover is almost here in Apex Legends, and Respawn has now revealed exactly what players can expect, including a new takeover mode, the Buster Sword (in two forms), and lots of new skins. In a very unexpected announcement at The Game Awards, Apex and Final Fantasy fans were delighted to see the crossover come together. But, Respawn initially kept the details under wraps, with players wondering what exactly to expect after the teaser trailer. Now we know, there will be a new takeover event mode, which replace the regular BR, and the highlight for many will be the introduction of Cloud’s Buster Sword – which is coming both as a weapon, and a new cosmetic item. Here’s everything coming in the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth event in Apex Legends. Final Fantasy VII Takeover In this new mode, players will be able to wield the power of a Buster Sword R2R5, which can be used as a weapon in the mode once found around the map or in Care Packages. The sword will have both light and heavy attacks, the ability to block to reduce incoming damage, as well as a dash move. And, you can fill the meter to use the “quintessential Limit Break”, such as the Omni-Slash we see in the trailer. Buster Sword: New Heirloom for all legends In addition to the mode-exclusive version of the Buster Sword, another version, called Buster Sword R5, will be available sort of like an heirloom, but for all Legends. Rather than needing to complete a collection event to get the heirloom, this event simply has 36 cosmetic items that will randomly drop in event packs. The Sword will also come exclusively in these packs. This version of the sword will have no gameplay abilities, rather simply being a replacement for your Legend’s fists or heirloom, if you have one. Notably, it will not enter the Mythic shop after the event, meaning the only time it will ever be available is during the event, in the packs. Event skins As mentioned, there will be 36 cosmetic items added with the event, including Legend and weapon skins. Unlike collection events, these items are only available through the event packs. There is however a four-pack guarantee option, which ensures you will get a Legendary or Iconic item (until you have acquired all items of that rarity). Although, the six Iconic skins for Wraith, Horizon, Wattson, Crypto, Valkyrie and Newcastle will be available in the item shop. New Hop-up: Materia In the takeover event mode, Materia Hop-Ups can be found and used for “increased effects and/or bonuses.” Respawn explains, “Each Materia Hop-Up has its own impact and will only attach with select weapons, and can spawn in the world and event-limited Cactuar Ticks!” Gil & Reward shop Finally, there will be a new event currency called Gil, which can be acquired in matches and then used for rewards, including packs, badges and other event-limited items. The Final Fantasy VII Rebirth event in Apex Legends will start on January 9, and run until January 30. Twitch drops for the event will also be available from January 12 – 30, by watching select Twitch streamers. • Apex Legends Fight or Fright – first look at Kings Canyon night gameplay – Dexerto

Apex Legends Fight or Fright – first look at Kings Canyon night gameplay The first Halloween event in Apex Legends will introduce players to a ghoulish version of Kings Canyon never seen in the game before. The events of Season 3 for the battle royale took them away from the original map on Solace, to the chaotic frozen world of Talos for the new World’s Edge arena. But it looks like Respawn Entertainment weren’t ready to let go of let Kings Canyon just yet. Instead, they’re breathing ghastly new life into the original site for the Apex Games, complete with demonic Leviathans, séance candles throughout the map, and Halloween costumes for the cast of Legends. The October 14 trailer for the Fight or Fright event showed that a simple mix-up with a mysterious Interdimensional Rift took Pathfinder to a dark-themed Kings Canyon. “Darkness descends on Kings Canyon with the Fight or Fright Collection Event!” Respawn said. “Experience Kings Canyon at night as you jump into an exciting new limited-time mode, Shadowfall, where a mysterious figure delivers his warped version of the Apex games, which turns fallen Legends into the undead.” For a long time, players have been wanting to dive into the arena with the map draped in night, and the Apex Legends devs are finally delivering with a perfect event to compliment the change in scenery. Kings Canyon after dark will be giving the classic map a completely new feel, especially with the Shadowfall LTM letting an army of ravenous zombies loose. In a chilling clip, Caustic in a clown-themed skin is getting swarmed by members of the undead faction. Meanwhile another squad is cornered at The Cage holding off the dark horde as the zombies can be seen scaling the tower’s gigantic walls. It seems like leaked character who could be called Revenant is orchestrating the dark army to haunt players in the holiday-themed LTM. “In my games, you will fear the Shadows. Give this one a challenge,” the mysterious figure says. The first look at Kings Canyon in the dark already has players thrilled to jump back into the classic map when the Fight or Fright collection event kicks off on October 15.

However, the map of Seasons 1 and 2 will already be making a return during this event, as part of the Shadowfall Limited Time Mode, and it will be seen in its night version for the very first time. • Apex Legends Fight Night update removes Caustic buff, adds Horizon nerf – Dexerto

Apex Legends Fight Night update removes Caustic buff, adds Horizon nerf Respawn Entertainment/EAIn a bit of a surprising move, Respawn have removed the controversial Caustic buff from the new Apex Legends Fight Night update at the very last minute. The update went live today, and has replaced it with a Horizon nerf. If you were one of the people concerned about Caustic’s buff in the upcoming Fight Night update, then you can rest assured that it won’t be happening. According to the patch notes for the update, which were changed right before the update went live, the Caustic buff will not be implemented as planned. The original buff decreased the Legend’s Nox Gas Trap’s cooldown time from 25 to 20 seconds, which many players weren’t a fan of, with some people taking to Twitter to voice their concerns after learning about it. Despite being removed from the actual update, that doesn’t mean that nothing else will replace it. What will be implemented instead, is a nerf to the newest Legend: Horizon. According to the new notes, the effective cooldown on her Gravity Lift ability has been increased from 16 seconds to 21 seconds. In addition to the removal of the Caustic buff, an update to the in-game rings has also been implemented. Now, Ring 5 will be bigger than before, while keeping the same time to close, and Ring 6 will be the final circle, which will close over 100 seconds somewhere near the center of Ring 5. Despite this change to the Rings, however, the biggest change was by far the replacement of the Caustic buff. Surprisingly, the devs have already offered up an explanation behind the change. Apex devs explain axed Caustic buff According to Respawn Lead Game Designer Daniel Klein, the decision to not buff Caustic came after the developers obtained some new data on the subject, determining that the Legend didn’t need the buff that they thought he did before. https://twitter.com/danielzklein/status/1346517304532635650?s=20 Apparently, the buff itself was created before the team went on its winter break and was made using data available back then. With this new data, the team decided it was no longer necessary. In addition, Respawn’s Associate Live Balance Designer took to Twitter to explain the team’s thought process behind the original buff. The minor cooldown adjustment we were going to implement was made over a month ago. I had my eye on his usage in EU comp, and knew there was no way we could buff his ult given the chaotic Caustic end circles (curious to see how these ring changes spice things up). (5/14)— JayBiebs (@RSPN_JayBiebs) January 5, 2021 At the end of the day, however, Caustic won’t be getting this buff for the foreseable future. It’s unknown if it will some day make a comeback, but right now, his Nox Gas Trap cooldown will remain at 25 seconds.

  • Apex Legends Fight Night update finally adds 2 of the most-requested features ever – Dexerto

Apex Legends Fight Night update finally adds 2 of the most-requested features ever Respawn EntertainmentIn the Fight Night event patch notes, Respawn confirmed two features that players have been begging for since the game’s release are finally coming to Apex Legends in the game’s next update. Season 7 of Apex Legends is well underway, and players have spent plenty of time experimenting with the game’s new map and Legend. To kick off 2021 and bridge the gap between Season 8’s release in February, Respawn announced the Fight Night Collection Event. Starting January 5, players will have a chance to complete the event-specific rewards track and obtain limited-time cosmetics via the in-game shop. The Pathfinder-themed event also features two unique limited-time modes: Airdrop Escalation and Pathfinder’s Town Takeover. In addition to the extra content for players to enjoy, Respawn is using the update to take a swing at balancing issues and add some quality of life improvements. Included in the Fight Night patch notes are two highly-requested features that players will be ecstatic to finally see. Ultimate Accelerants The first big change coming in the update is a tweak to the way that Ultimate Accelerants function. Currently, players must open their inventory and click on an Ultimate Accelerant in their backpack to use the item and charge their ultimate ability. This process is changing with the release of the Fight Night update. Players will be able to simply press the button(s) used to activate their ultimate, and will automatically use an Ult Accel if they have the item in their inventory and their ultimate is not already charged. This change is something players have been asking Respawn to implement since the earliest days of the game. After the patch notes were released, the community took to Twitter and Reddit to express their appreciation of Respawn adding this feature. Mark all as seen in Apex Legends While the change to Ultimate Accelerants is a welcome addition, Respawn also announced they are adding another feature at the top of the community’s wishlist. With the Fight Night update, the developer is implementing a “Mark All As Seen” button. This is another feature the community has called for since the game’s release. Now, players who don’t immediately inspect every new cosmetic they unlock can use this button to remove red markers that are cluttering up their weapon and Legend customization menus. New skins are cool but have you ever just… marked all as seen ☺️ pic.twitter.com/6yc6rzAk4Z — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) January 1, 2021 In addition to these two features, Respawn is also rolling out a few weapon and Legend tweaks along with a list of bug fixes. Players can check out the official patch notes for all the details ahead of Fight Night’s release on January 5.

  • Apex Legends Fight Night Event Patch Notes: Pathfinder Town Takeover, New Skins – Dexerto

Apex Legends Fight Night Event Patch Notes: Pathfinder Town Takeover, New Skins Respawn Entertainment/EARespawn Entertainment have released the official patch notes for the game’s January 5 update, which will start the Fight Night event, and subsequently bring a few new game modes, a new heirloom, balancing fixes for guns and legends, and more. If you’ve been wondering what’s going to be included in Apex Legend’s Fight Night update, then your questions have finally been answered. Respawn decided to kick off the new year by letting fans know just what they’ll be able to expect in the upcoming patch, which is set to release on January 5, 2021. While the update makes a ton of balancing and bug fixes throughout the game, it also adds in a few new features, including a brand new game mode under the new “takeover” tagline, as well as a new Gibraltar Heirloom, new skins, and 24 other items. Here’s what you need to know. Most important changes in Apex Legends Jan 5 2021 update In terms of new content, Apex is set to get a new mode called Airdrop Escalation, which is similar to the original battle royale mode but with extra supply drops, and will temporarily replace the main experience. In addition, Pathfinder Town Takeover is coming to the Apex, which will add a new POI to the map based on the Legend and will force players to fight with fists in an arena. In addition, 24 new items will be available to get in the season, either through Apex Coins or Crafting Metal, including a bunch of new skins. Once players unlock all the items, they’ll receive a brand-new Gibraltar Heirloom. Beyond those major changes, a slew of bug fixes and balancing changes will be coming to the game. First and foremost, Rampart’s cooldown has been decreased for her Amped Cover. Caustic’s gas traps were originally due to be buffed too, but Respawn have removed it. Instead, Horizon has been given a nerf, with her cooldown increased by 5 seconds. Step into the ring in the Fight Night Collection Event. Load up like never before in Airdrop Escalation Takeover, bare-knuckle brawl in Pathfinder’s Town Takeover, and dress to the nines with 24 event-limited items! Play the Fight Night Collection Event starting Jan 5. 🥊 pic.twitter.com/PQhiPfDibu — Apex Legends (@PlayApex) January 1, 2021 Beyond that, a few weapons also got changed as well. The Hemlok was nerfed, with its overall damage decreasing, as was the Mastiff, whose max range got decreased. The Prowler SMG, however, got buffed slightly, as its reserve ammo was increased from 175 to 210. While this isn’t an earth-shattering change, it will allow players to hold more ammo in their reserves, so it’s still notable. Some quality of life changes were also made. The biggest update here is the inclusion of a “mark all as seen” button, which will allow players to easily get rid of the red notification dots in the main menu, which many players find annoying. Of course, that’s not everything that was changed and you can find all of the technical changes, straight from Respawn, below. Apex Legends January 5 update patch notes Legends Rampart: Amped Cover: Decreased cooldown from 30 seconds to 20 seconds – Horizon: Gravity Lift: Increased effective cooldown from 16 seconds to 21 seconds – – Weapons Hemlok: Decreased damage from 22 to 20. – Mastiff: Spread out 3rd/4th pellets to decrease max range of 4 pellet hits (was +/- 7.5 degrees, now +/- 10) – Prowler: Reserve bullets increased from 175 to 210 – Ring Update In hopes of spreading out the chaos that can occur in final rings, we’re making some tweaks to Rings 5 and 6. Ring 5 is bigger (1500 unit radius to 2000 unit radius). Time to close is the same. – Ring 6 is the last ring. It will slowly close over 100s somewhere near the center of Ring 5. – QUALITY OF LIFE Ultimate Accelerants can now be used without opening your inventory. If your ultimate is not currently available, just press the button (or buttons, on a controller) to activate it, and you’ll pull out any stored Accelerant in your inventory and use it automatically. – When in a lobby, if a party member leaves your lobby for any reason, all party members will be marked as “not ready.” This should stop accidental launches into a match when your buddy dipped out for a second. – The fabled “Mark All As Seen” button has been added. Click this to remove the pesky (I mean helpful) red dots. – Pinging the nearest respawn beacon (from spectate) will now always ping the nearest beacon unless you don’t have enough time to use it before the ring closes over it, instead of defaulting to the nearest beacon in the next safe ring. – We now show you how many treasure packs are needed to acquire the next comic page. This should just make it easier to people who are chasing the new bit of lore to know how far away they are. – Caustic should now smash the door with his Heirloom hammer instead of his leg, if available. – We added a small bit of information to the Find Friends box to describe a situation where your friend might not be findable because of their EA account settings. – BUG FIXES Bloodhound Fixed an issue with Bloodhound’s UI disappearing after interacting with Horizon’s Tactical. – Wraith Fixed an issue with Wraith’s Portals getting destroyed by the Trident. – Bangalore Fixed an issue with Bangalore’s missile passing through hatch doors when they are closed in Worlds Edge. – Mirage Fixed an issue with Mirage’s decoys not making footstep sounds. – Crypto Fixed an issue with Hack consuming two Vault keys if two keys were in Crypto’s inventory. – Fixed an issue with Hack getting stuck within the Trident when deployed as a passenger and the trident is on a ramp. – Revenant Fixed an issue causing other players to teleport with Revenant if they punch Revenant when he has very little health. – Fixed an issue that didn’t allow Revenant to deploy the Death Totem while on the Trident. – Loba Fixed a lot of windows in World’s Edge that prevented Loba’s bracelet from passing through. – Rampart Fixed an issue that allowed Rampart to place Sheila while in the Phase Runner. – Fix an issue where UI elements stayed on screen after using Sheila. – Horizon Fixed an issue with Horizon’s abilities not affecting Lifeline’s DOC and Crypto’s drone. –

  • Apex Legends fans want Warzone & Fortnite-like LTM with just one-weapon type – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans want Warzone & Fortnite-like LTM with just one-weapon type Respawn/EAApex Legends players want Respawn to follow Warzone and Fortnite with a one-weapon type only LTM or event that would bring chaos to the Apex Games. Ever since Apex Legends was first released by Respawn back in February of 2019, players far and wide have been chipping in with their suggestions for changes – both in terms of additions and removals. Plenty of players have focused on legend reworks and even new characters – with quite a few ideas getting appreciation for just how well throughout and balanced they’ve been. Then, you have players who have come up with event and limited-time mode ideas. They’re a little more wild and can split opinions – including a new one that would shake up the weapon pool drastically. The idea was put forward by Redditor MrFeature_1, who asked their fellow players what they’d do if a new game mode was implemented and they could use weapons of one ammo type. Yes, that would mean reducing the loot pool to only light ammo weapons, only heavy ammo, and even only energy weapons depending on how Respawn wanted to cycle things in and out. Naturally, some players stuck with their favorite weapon types, but it gave others some dastardly ideas. “Snipers, only to watch the world burn,” said Bernbiz. “Shotguns. Force people to fight close range. Absolute carnage,” added MadeOfBrass. Others suggested a Robin Hood-style setup where players can only use the Bocek Bow. Rather than being an LTM that is used frequently, it could be something that pops up around April Fools as it would fit that vibe, as some players noted. The Shotgun and Snipers-only ideas got some love from players who noted it’s been done before. Both Warzone and Fortnite have had similar modes, and fans loved them there. Though, who knows if Respawn would go about adding an LTM like that, seeing as it’s been done before a few times over.

  • Apex Legends fans want simple buff to Crypto’s drone in Season 3 – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans want simple buff to Crypto’s drone in Season 3 One Apex Legends fan has come up with a perfect way to use Crypto’s drone in order to warn teammates who don’t have a mic about potential enemies in the area. Apex Legends season three is in full-swing following its release on October 1, with the newly-released Crypto being an integral part of the game’s meta. The hacking legend has some pretty unique ways to combat foes, especially with his surveillance drone. One of the clever uses for the drone is being able to scout out the number of enemies in your immediate area by scanning the banners that display the current kill leaders and champion squad. While the legend can be pretty hard to use if you’re playing with teammates who don’t communicate, one fan has come up with a solution to this problem. In a post to the Apex Legends subreddit, user DurrrBurgerYOYO noted that Crypto should have a prompt of some kind that allows him to warn teammates about possible enemies when scanning these banners. Just like pinging, players would be able to press a button of their choice and they’d be told if there are any, or even if there aren’t, enemies in their zone – allowing them to get prepared for a fight, or just continue on looting. It’s been an idea that has garnered support from players who want to play as Crypto but don’t when they’re matched up with random teammates. “You should be able to ping banners and it would tell “X squads near us, be careful,” posted SecretChilley. Another Redditor, Unlucky_Sasza, noted: “Definitely. More info pingable is always good. And with a proper voice line, I could avoid explaining to my teammates how I know that (there are enemies nearby).” Now, of course, not everybody plays Apex Legends with a random trio, so it wouldn’t be a big thing for everybody, but these quality of life changes do help to keep the game ticking over. It may be something for the Respawn Entertainment team to consider moving forward, especially ahead of season four, where they could add more than the typical single legend to the battle royale.

  • Apex Legends fans want Respawn to copy Halo Infinite feature – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans want Respawn to copy Halo Infinite feature Respawn/343Apex Legends players want Respawn Entertainment to follow what Halo Infinite is doing with their battle pass system as it would let them pick up some early rewards. While Halo Infinite hasn’t even hit the shelves yet, it’s become a source of much inspiration for gamers across the globe. They’ve looked at what 343 have got planned and questioned why their current favorite games haven’t followed suit. That includes the planned, wide-ranging character customization, free-to-play multiplayer, and now, the new battle pass system. With the Infinite battle pass, players will be able to go back and pick up rewards they may have missed by selecting what battle pass they want to progress. So, that has got some Apex Legends players salivating. Now that Apex is seeing an influx of new players, there are those that want to get their hands on the older cosmetics, which is what following the Halo Infinite system would allow. “Can we have this same system as Apex Legends please?” asked Waterc0w with others chiming in with their support. “This would be great. not everyone has the time to grind out this stuff,” said one. “I’ll pay extra even, I just want the season 4 battle pass,” added another. As some pointed out, if Respawn wanted to follow suit, they could keep the level 100+ cosmetics exclusive to those who have already earned them but make the level 1-100 rewards available to all. Then, you have players who are against it because they’ve grinded Apex for so long. They want the reward to be kept exclusive to long-time players. There is also the argument around the developers and EA not wanting to lose out on income by giving players the chance to grind free rewards rather than use Apex Coins in the shop. If Infinite’s battle pass is a success, other games could follow suit, but it’ll be a while down the line before we know either way.

  • Apex Legends fans want one big change to Ash’s Ultimate – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans want one big change to Ash’s Ultimate Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling on Respawn to change Ash’s Ultimate as fans claim it’s too hard to place accurately. With Season 19 of Apex Legends finally here, plenty of Legends received various buffs to try and bring them up to par with the rest of the cast. However, among the various Legends that weren’t touched in the Season 19 patch notes was Ash—the battle royale’s cold and calculating simulacrum. It seems some fans think that it was a mistake to leave Ash unchanged, as many are now calling for her Ultimate ability to get a buff now that Season 19 is here. Apex Legends fans want Ash’s Ultimate buffed A post on the Apex Legends subreddit titled, “For the love of God, please can we do something about how hard it is to use Ash’s ultimate,” sparked a discussion among the community. The OP included a clip of a match they played as Ash, which showed them engaging in a firefight on Storm Point. After dropping off a raised building to disengage, they weren’t able to get back into the fight thanks to Ash’s Ultimate not locking onto the building above. It seems many players have struggled with this same issue, as plenty agreed that this specific issue is one they’re familiar with. “The ultimate’s inability to snap onto geometry has plagued Ash for SO long,” said one fan. They continued and added: “In addition to that, the usage between barred windows is inconsistent: you can TP into them, but you can’t TP out of them.” Some players suggested ways to change the Ultimate, like changing it to a throwable arc. “Suggestion for a change: make the Ult targeting similar to a throwable in terms of its visual representation, much like a grenade showing you an arc where it will land…” While similar buffs have been suggested in the past, they’ve yet to make it into the game. Hopefully for those who main Ash, Respawn will iron out some of her Ultimate’s quirks during Season 19.

  • Apex Legends fans want new Survival items and a genius idea has emerged – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans want new Survival items and a genius idea has emerged Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players want more Survival items in the game and some genius ideas for new additions have emerged. In Apex Legends, there are some items designed to help you survive, rather than to help you take down enemies. These can protect you from the storm, for instance, which would otherwise slowly tick your health down if over-exposed to it. But, what if there were more of these items? Some fans have conjured up several ideas of their own that are definitely worth taking a look at. Fans want more Survival items in Apex Legends Survival items are a relatively new addition to Apex Legends, which serve to help players outlast the game’s many obstacles. For instance, on Storm Point, players can be attacked by Prowlers and Spiders, which both provide loot when killed. But, sometimes, these can be a real pain to kill, and players are forced to run or can even be killed themselves by the beasts. Some players have rallied to think of genius new Survival item ideas that could help either lead these beasts away or make them easier to kill, among other options. This came in a Reddit post titled, “we need more survival items, what do you think should be the next survival item?” The post, which has gotten over 5,500 upvotes since posting, brought out some serious item creativity that players are loving the sound of. “Prowler bait in Storm Point” is the top comment, with a reply of “like a bag of meat or something lol great idea” ranking highest. “New survival item should be something like a grappling hook,” wrote another, potentially taking inspiration from Halo Infinite’s popular item, or just poking fun at Pathfinder mains. Whatever it is, players are loving the idea of more of these types of things coming to the game in Season 12. Only time will tell if devs take to the idea and implement any of these!

  • Apex Legends fans want lootbox change for heirlooms – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans want lootbox change for heirlooms An Apex Legend player has come up with an interesting idea to tweak how loot boxes work, specifically how fans can get their hands on the hard to find heirlooms. Ever since it launched back in February of 2018, Apex Legends has proven to be a popular addition to the battle royale market – even, once, knocking Fortnite off its perch. While it hasn’t hit those lofty heights since, a dedicated fan base still remains, and Respawn Entertainment have been pumping out new content. The developers have given fans Season 3: Meltdown with a whole new map, a raft of new cosmetics, and even a limited-time mode. Yet, that’s not stopped players for coming up with their own ideas for how to get some of the rarer cosmetics around – heirlooms. Heirlooms are legendary weapon skins designed specifically for a certain legend and can take quite a pretty penny to find inside Apex Packs. While Respawn has confirmed that opening 500 packs will guarantee an heirloom, it might not be the one you want. Redditor EclipseQQ has come up with a way to get around that though. In a post to the Apex Legends subreddit, they theorized that Respawn could, easily, change the system so that you receive an ‘Heirloom Token’ that can be exchanged for the one which you fancy. This would mean that players who don’t play as Wraith could choose to select Bloodhound’s Raven’s Bite or Lifeline’s Two Shock Batons or vice versa. They could also be held on to until an heirloom for a player’s commonly used legend came to market, saving them quite some time and effort. Some fans, like user vokari, were on board with the idea, noting that players should at least get a choice after being willing to buy at least 500 packs. Another, kd4w6, took things one step further, adding that players should also be able to swap out an owned heirloom for something else. Of course, there’s no way of knowing if Respawn would ever consider using the idea in-game, especially when the continual purchases of loot boxes are a huge way to bring in revenue. As for the heirlooms themselves, it remains to be seen if the developers have any other designs up their sleeve for the remainder of season three.

  • Apex Legends fans want ALGS UI change to come to the battle royale – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans want ALGS UI change to come to the battle royale Electronic ArtsApex Legends players think that one UI feature found in ALGS VODS could make a great addition to the base battle royale. Apex Legends offers tons of loot for players to collect, such as ammo, guns, weapon Hop-Ups, and the various all-important healing items. However, in the heat of battle, it can sometimes be a bit tricky to keep stock of every healing item you have without pulling up the healing item wheel. As such, some fans think that one helpful UI feature from ALGS should make its way to the base battle royale game as a toggleable HUD element. Apex Legends players want ALGS UI feature A post on the Apex Legends subreddit sparked a discussion after one player said, “Why ALGS only? Why don’t we get this overlay? I’m forever opening my inventory to check what I have haha.” The OP attached a picture of the ALGS UI feature that showed how many healing items and ordinances a spectated player had in their inventory at a given time. The HUD element sits right above the weapon layout and each healing item and ordinance is split into its own self-contained box. Other players also thought the UI feature would be helpful, especially as a customizable or toggleable setting. “Would be a nice edition,” said one player. …Even if it was just a preference option in the settings.” Another fan said, “I would settle for when you are in someone’s death box and hover over an item (ammo, batts, etc.) for it to tell you how many you already have.” On the flip side, plenty of Apex players would worry this UI feature would cause too much visual clutter. “So much clutter, but I guess some people might like it as a quality of life update. Hopefully if that ever happens I can turn it off.“ It certainly would be a handy feature for those players who simply want to glance and see how many heals they have on hand before a fight. Perhaps one day developer Respawn Entertainment will implement this UI feature in the base game.

  • Apex Legends fans urge EA to support ALGS following NRG exit – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans urge EA to support ALGS following NRG exit Respawn EntertainmentNRG’s exit from the ALGS has sparked controversy in the Apex Legends community, and many fans of both Apex Legends and its esports scene are calling on EA to give more support to organizations and keep the scene alive. 2023 hasn’t been the best year for the ALGS. While the level of competition has been high and there have been some great moments for individual players, organizations have been departing the esport one by one in a trend that started in late 2022. Though NRG certainly wasn’t the first major esports org to distance themselves from Apex Legends, they were certainly the most transparent about their reasons for leaving and directly blamed EA’s lack of support for why they had to let go of their prospects in the battle royale. This has led to an outcry from passionate fans of both NRG and the esport in general, with many hoping that EA will provide more incentives for esports orgs to stick around. Apex Legends players urge EA to support ALGS orgs Though the Battle Royale craze has come and gone, Apex Legends has stood the test of time along with a few other titles as the absolute best the genre has to offer. Additionally, its wealth of movement options, weapons, and diverse character roster give it a skill ceiling and level of depth few in the genre can match. So, it should come as no surprise that the game has had an incredible run in the competitive space. The esport has had some great moments and has managed to compete with esports giants like Valve and Riot Games. However, the recent downturn has been attributed to a lack of support for the esports scene from EA according to NRG, to the point where they’ve been forced to depart. The Apex Legends community has rallied behind the org, urging EA to make changes that can help in holding on to the orgs that are still invested. Though many thought that changes needed to come from EA to make progress, not everyone in a thread discussing the issue was optimistic about any of those changes coming to fruition. The original poster who started the conversation claimed that EA not offering skin bundles to participating orgs “screams bad management and greed” from the company. Some thought that EA, from a financial standpoint, doesn’t have much incentive for the esport to succeed in the first place. “You seem to think EA wants the esport to succeed. Esports are money pits. They don’t make money, and profit sharing reasonably would mean they get even less back to recoup losses. The longer it goes, the more they invest for no return.” However, another Redditor argued that having a thriving esports scene contributes to a game’s longevity and profitability even if that profit doesn’t come directly from the esport itself. “Competitive scenes let games last much longer. Look at MK versus Street Fighter. MK dies within 3 months of releasing. Look at CS and Val.” There’s an additional comparison to be drawn here from Valve and Riot games completely making over their in-game client for big esports events while Apex Legends has next to no in-game support for their esport. Those on the competitive Apex subreddit called NRG’s departure the “end of an era”, with many blaming EA for the esport’s grim future. “We have a godly esport here and of course it’s in the hands of the greediest company to ever exist,” lamented one Redditor. Ultimately, the community seems to believe the ALGS is a step behind other prominent esports that are already struggling. As its most prominent players criticize the recent seasons and the esports space, it remains to be seen if the ailing pro scene has an impact on the long-term player base and if EA plan to make any significant changes.

  • Apex Legends fans think they’ve figured out Firing Range easter egg – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans think they’ve figured out Firing Range easter egg Apex Legends fans are frantically trying to figure out the hidden easter egg in the Firing Range and some players believe they have cracked the code. Respawn developers have been telling fans about an easter egg in the Firing Range and since then, players have been hard at work trying to figure out what that is. Some drastic measures have been taken, including some players finding out how to glitch out of the range completely, but developers have confirmed you won’t have to do that much to find the easter egg. In fact, they didn’t even know that was even possible. It’s also nothing about getting outside the map or etc. I didn’t even know you *could* glitch out of the map until, like, three days ago. 😅 — Rayme Vinson (@RaymeCVinson) December 1, 2019 Eagle-eyed fans have instead turned their attention to a loading screen and have noticed something interesting about the image. The gun rack with the energy weapons was completely filled up weapons, leading many players to believe we’d be getting a chance to try out a new gun on the Firing Range before it actually releases into the live version. This gun in question would be the Volt SMG, which has actually been datamined for quite a while now. Since it hasn’t actually be released into the game, it does seem very possible that it could end up appearing here. Apex Legends hasn’t introduced a new weapon in this way so there’s no precedent for this happening, but it shouldn’t be brushed away on account of that. Reddit user FrozenFroh posted an image of the loading screen and first introduced this theory. Nothing is confirmed by Respawn so take all of this with a grain of salt, but the devs did say the easter egg would be something simple. Anybody who is glitching out of the map or trying other off-the-wall ideas is thinking entirely too hard about the situation. While it is simple, they do say it’s unlikely to happen by accident. This means to get this sixth gun to appear, if that’s indeed the easter egg, players will need to potentially do something with the weapon racks. In a perfect world, Respawn would provide more hints, but given how many they have already dished out, it’s possible we won’t get any more. As it stands right now, nobody has the confirmed solution fro Respawn, but it sounds like we’re getting a little bit closer.

  • Apex Legends fans suggest potential Lifeline buffs for Season 11 – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans suggest potential Lifeline buffs for Season 11 Respawn/EAAfter facing neglect from the devs for quite some time, Apex Legends players are suggesting some reasonable changes to one of the game’s most beloved Legends, Lifeline. Following what some could consider a rework in Season 9 of Apex Legends, Lifeline has received little to no love from the Respawn devs. As the neglect continues, players have come up with some imaginative ideas on what could be changed for the most picked Legend, and some of them are surprisingly good. Since the launch of Apex Legends in 2019, Lifeline has always been a solid pick for all players. Her easy-to-use kit makes it inviting for players to pick her up, and though being a good pick in the meta, some believe the battle-medic needs a little more love. A post on Apex Legend’s subreddit asked players if they could change anything about lifeline, what would it be? And surprisingly it got some reasonable suggestions. “Have the care package double as a respawn beacon,” was the most popular suggestion brought forward. This change to her ultimate would allow players to be respawned at a safer location than the usual respawn beacon hotspots. The suggestion for the ultimate change was well received, with one player adding: “This is sick. Especially when you need to respawn in a teammate for them to get loot. Maybe there would be an option where it drops and you can respawn and pick up an evo shield, a blue gun with some ammo, and some cells and syringes as normal.” Another approach was to scrap the current ultimate and make her a whole new one, as “the care package is trash,” according to a commenter. Others brought back a classic idea of letting her stack more meds than normal, similar to how Fuse can carry more grenades. Season 11 of Apex Legends is on the horizon, set to release on November 2, we could see some of the community suggestions implemented, or at least acknowledged.

  • Apex Legends players suggest Respawn copy major Rainbow Six update to fix overdue issues – Dexerto

Apex Legends players suggest Respawn copy major Rainbow Six update to fix overdue issues Respawn / UbisoftApex Legends fans have suggested the battle royale would benefit from Respawn taking a leaf out of Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege book: dedicating an entire season to improving the game’s performance. One of Rainbow Six’s most impressive achievements is its longevity in the gaming community – releasing back in 2015 but still going strong in 2021. A major reason for its success is Ubisoft’s commitment to ensuring the game runs smoothly. Similar to Apex Legends, Rainbow Six fans have become accustomed to new characters every season, alongside a host of map changes and balancing adjustments. However, back in its second year, Rainbow Six spent an entire season on Operation Health – a season dedicated to fixing the game’s bugs, minimizing inconsistencies, and ensuring it was running smoothly. In Apex’s tenth season, fans are calling for Respawn to do something similar. Redditor ‘CarbarKing‘ said: “Remember when Rainbow Six did “Operation Health”? Yeah, it’s time Apex. I’m constantly getting booted to the point where it feels unplayable. Just hold off on new content, make the season Lifeline themed, and dedicate work to bug fixes and new firing range features so new players can improve faster.” Remember when Rainbow Six did “Operation Health”? Yeah, it’s time Apex. I’m constantly getting booted to the point where it feels unplayable. Just hold off on new content, make the season Lifeline themed, and dedicate work to bug fixes and new firing range features so new players can improve faster. byu/CarbarKing inapexlegends Another player – u/pandasinmoscow – suggested making the focus of Season 11 bug fixes, technical improvements, and a new deployment process. The season would put cosmetics and other new content on the backburner, allowing the devs to invest more time in the game’s long-term health. Though, there would still be new skins and such added over time. They just wouldn’t be the focus. The posts proved fairly popular with fellow players, suggesting large parts of the community would accept a lack of new content if it improved Apex in the long term. Whether EA would opt for such a season and a change to their Apex schedule remains to be seen, but plenty were skeptical that EA would commit to something that could slow Apex’s growth.

  • Apex Legends fans still desperately want classic hop-ups to return – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans still desperately want classic hop-ups to return Respawn/EAApex Legends fans are still hoping that Respawn will bring back some of the game’s classic hop-ups as a way to give some weapons a much-needed buff. With Apex Legends continuing to get bigger and bigger as the seasons’ progress, Respawn Entertainment have had the unenviable job of keeping things fresh and new. That has involved the devs bringing in new characters, new map updates, and adding plenty of new items, but they’ve also used removals as a way to shake things up. Not only have weapons been removed from the floor loot, but so too have different hop-ups. These hop-ups, which allow players to give their weapons a slight boost – be it in the way of damage, accuracy, or even reload speed – are usually helpful when it comes to picking up a win. As a result, players are hoping some make a return. The calls for wanting hop-ups to return have been pretty constant across social media, but Redditor Supercomfyplanet reignited the conversation, stating that they wanted the deadly Skullpiercer rounds to make a return. “I pray we get the Skullpiercer hop-up back soon,” they said, wanting to hear the sound of it again, more so than wanting the extra damage. Some players quickly piggybacked off those calls, putting in suggestions of their own after claiming the Wingman doesn’t need the Skullpiercer to return. “Wingman is plenty strong already. I want the select-fire hop-up for the Prowler to come back,” said one. “I wish the anvil receiver came back,” added another. As noted, the return of hop-ups has been a long-standing ask from fans, with some suggesting previously that Respawn should run throwback weekends with older map layouts and loot pools. It remains to be seen if Respawn will ever do so, but it is clearly a popular request, so maybe they just might.

  • Apex Legends fans split over “dumb” Team Deathmatch feature – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans split over “dumb” Team Deathmatch feature RespawnApex Legends fans are split over the Team Deathmatch feature which will force them to play with random teammates. Season 16 of Apex is set to bring a variety of huge changes to the game, with one of the most important changes is the addition of a completely new game mode to the battle royale. Team Deathmatch from other FPS games is finally making its way over to Apex Legends, so you can practice firefights or just hang out with your friends in a mode that features a little bit more action per minute compared to the standard BR mode. But, despite being a 6 vs 6 mode, the mode doesn’t actually let players team up with 5 friends. Instead, each 6-person team is made of two 3-person teams. So just like the BR, you can only team up with 2 friends. This has divided the player base into camps that support and oppose the decision. Apex Legends fans split over a 3-person part limit for TDM In a February 11 Reddit thread on the topic, players have already begun debating the issue. “On the one hand, being with randos in pubs and going against a 6 stack would suck. On the other hand, it’s a bummer that you can’t group for voice chat and casual play with 5 friends,” said one player summing up both pros and cons of this approach. A big group of Apex players understands how balance-wise this could pose problems. “If they let all 6 players queue up together then you would hear all the complaints of ppl 6 stacking and how it isn’t fun anymore so it’s definitely better this way,” points out another user. But on the other side of the argument we have people who simply want to play with a bigger friend group being disappointed. “Having no options to play apex with more than a group of 3 is one of the biggest reasons I’ve been spending time playing OW2 lately instead.” Opinions approving the decision to keep the premade teams capped at 3 players maximum seem to garner a lot more upvotes and likes on both Reddit and Twitter. But the minority of players who simply want to play with more than 2 of their friends at a time is by no means a “small” side to this argument. Season 16 is set to go live on February 14. Full patch notes are now available.

  • Apex Legends fans slam “garbage” anti-cheat after embarrassing hacker clip – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans slam “garbage” anti-cheat after embarrassing hacker clip Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has been targeted by hackers over the last few months and despite Respawn Entertainment’s anti-cheat efforts, it only seems to be getting worse. Apex has seen a lot of turbulence over the last month, in particular. Whether it’s been an influx of cheaters, the extended server issues that plagued the game after update 10.3, or the revolving door of problems that is Wattson’s ultimate, some fans are starting to reach the end of their wits. A new clip over on the game’s subreddit shows off exactly how easy it is for hackers to ruin an entire lobby, even if they’re not very good at the game. Although this doesn’t represent anything we didn’t already know about hacking in video games, seeing it with your own eyes only makes it feel worse. Respawn recently made significant additions to their security team to stop things like this from happening, but it hasn’t seemed to change the state of the game just yet. Apex Legends anti-cheat comes under fire from dedicated players In this clip, on World’s Edge, a Pathfinder – who has only reached level player level 3 – decimates a team in a fight outside on the highway outside of Fragment. After winning the first fight, they take off towards an unsuspecting solo and eliminate them before moving on and eventually winning the game without using a single ability. It’s clear that tension is escalating in the game’s community, as several players have already suggested boycotting Apex Legends until major changes are made. While that may not happen anytime soon, Respawn could be dealing with an exodus if things don’t start to trend upwards soon. One commenter highlighted how Apex’s anti-cheat initiative is not doing enough, saying that it’s pushing her away from the game: “I, personally, came seeking this very thing today. I played last night and I’m over it,” she said. “I came really close to deleting my game last night. I’m tired of the cheaters and the people who never move from the spawn so no matter how well I do, we still lose.” Many others in the thread seemed to echo that sentiment, and another acknowledged how reporting players has not been effective at deterring them in the past. Another user said: “The thing that bothers me the most about this is just how blatant it really is… he’s level three, with a 4K, and 20 bomb. This dude is so unashamed because he knows that nothing is going to happen to him.” If Respawn isn’t able to get the hacking problem under control, the long-term effects could prove disastrous for the game’s future.

  • Apex Legends fans share creative theories for possible Season 1 events – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans share creative theories for possible Season 1 events Fans have been speculating about random events happening inside of Apex Legends long before Season 1 kicked off, and with the first season finally here, fans are convinced something big is coming. The First Season Battle Pass was like sweet manna from heaven for Apex Legends players who had been waiting, both patiently and impatiently, for more content in the battle royale. Now, some fans are convinced that there’s something else headed to the island, based on clues found on the map. So what’s the theory then? In a Reddit post on March 22, user FrozenFroh suggests that, based on images from the Season One trailer, that the massive Leviathans and “Flyer swarms” could be headed to the island. In the image from the trailer, they compare a broken “repulsor” and a massive Leviathan to an in game shot of the same area. Read More: $25,000 T1 x FACEIT Apex Legends Invitational – schedule, players, how to watch, format and more – Just what exactly the creatures would do is unknown, but users suggested they could make some places no-go areas by becoming physical barriers or dangerous threats. FrozenFroh also speculated on a new character, Wattson, who could be joining the cast of Champions during Season One. Some players have expressed disappointment with the offerings in the Season One Battle Pass, so a little extra content and a new hero would probably be more than welcome. Other Apex players have already speculated that dragons could be headed to the map, so there seems to be plenty of potential for some kind of in game event for Season One. The Apex Legends Season One Battle Pass is available now, and, according to leaks, the first season will last until June 5, plenty of time for random events to happen or a new hero to appear.

  • Apex Legends fans praise devs over Conduit’s unique details in Season 19 – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans praise devs over Conduit’s unique details in Season 19 RespawnApex Legends players are praising the devs over a third-person easter egg with the new legend Conduit in Season 19. Season 19 has finally arrived for Apex Legends players, giving the battle royale a much-needed breath of fresh air. While typically, each season has launched with a new Legend, Respawn instead took a different approach in Season 18 with a rework to Revenant instead. However, with Season 19’s launch, it’s business as usual with a new Legend release, as Conduit, a new support legend, takes to the dropship. Apex Legends fans impressed with Conduit’s unique details After releasing on October 31 with Season 19, fans have already noticed some cool and unique easter eggs with the new Legend conduit. As noted by one fan in a Reddit thread, sometimes when players slide as Conduit, she’ll take a selfie using her handheld device similar to her finisher — a small detail that is fair to say is appreciated by the Apex Legends community. Although it can only be seen in third-person, other players in the replies praised the devs for Conduit’s little easter egg. “That’s such a neat detail,” said one. “It’s a way of showing the character’s personality,” said another. “I like the detail they added for her,” one wrote. “She has so much character! Purely off that aspect, I really like her,” another player added. Not only that, but according to some, the Legend even occasionally lets out a little laugh when pinging a Mozambique pistol. While Apex Legends Season 20 is quite some time away, it’s fair to say players would love to see some more unique and quirky details for new Legends.

  • Apex Legends fans pitch “Level 500 shop” for prestige cosmetics – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans pitch “Level 500 shop” for prestige cosmetics Respawn EntertainmentA huge appeal for many Apex Legends players is unlocking the coolest skins for their Legends and weapons. A clever idea shared on the game’s subreddit would implement a system allowing max-level players to take their fashion game to the next level. A key part of the Apex Legends experience is the ability for players to express themselves through customization. Unlocking and equipping the coolest in-game items has become a core component of the battle royale gameplay loop, and Apex is no different. Respawn Entertainment have certainly dipped into this philosophy, providing players with new gun charms, characters skins and other cosmetics to acquire in each of the game’s special events and seasonal battle passes. While there is already a large pool of items available, some fans want Respawn to provide even more customization options. A post on the Apex Legends subreddit has proposed the idea of adding a shop for level-500 players with exclusive items that can only be unlocked after hitting the max level. In the post, user ‘u/MC501stclone’ suggested an idea for a “Level 500 shop” that would contain exclusive skins & item re-colors. In addition to these re-skinned items, the user also mentioned Heirloom re-colors, an idea that so far has yet to appear in Apex Legends at all. The poster also confirmed that the shop’s items would require Legend tokens to unlock – and a hefty amount of them by the looks of the image they created. Included in the mock-up of this system is a re-skinned Wraith Kunai Heirloom, available for the small price of 500,000 tokens. While this may sound like an unreasonable amount required to unlock these cosmetics, right now the tokens are only used to access a new Legend each season. Each new character only requires 12,000 tokens to unlock, so the majority of players have plenty to spare. MC501stclone’s idea has been well-received by the community, with the post gathering nearly 5k upvotes at the time of writing. Fans expressed their support in the comments as well, with one user pointing out that the idea could also benefit Respawn by potentially increasing player retention (and disincentivizing smurfs). The system designed by MC501stclone is similar to ones that already exist in other games. In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, players can earn Prestige Keys by leveling up beyond the base level-cap of 55, and these keys allow them to unlock special calling cards and emblems that other players cannot access. While Respawn have not responded to the post at the time of writing, the developer is constantly looking for feedback and ideas from players on how they can improve the Apex Legends experience. It’s certainly possible that they could incorporate a system like this at some point in the future.

  • Apex Legends fans outline major concerns for Season 16’s Legend class system – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans outline major concerns for Season 16’s Legend class system Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans have shared their concerns about the new Legend class system being released in Season 16. While fans are used to getting a new Legend with every season, the Respawn devs have decided to shake things up in Season 16. Instead of a new Legend, players will be introduced to the new five-class Legend system in Season 16 — which includes a new perk system relating to each Legend’s category. However, ahead of its release, players are already voicing major concerns about the new system. Apex Legends fans concerned for Season 16’s Legend class system With clearly defined roles, all Legends will be placed into one of five classes introduced in Season 16 — with each class having its own unique perk attached to it. However, in a February 10 Reddit thread, players have already begun voicing their concerns about the new classes. Player ‘wera125’ noted how the Assault, Support, and Recon perks appear to be much better than the Skirmish and Controller. Many in the thread agreed with the player but elaborated further on how the classes seem to balance out when taking into consideration the Legends placed in them. “Controller makes sense so they know where to bunker. Skirmisher I think is intended to be a bit weaker to balance the inherent advantage of movement abilities,” one wrote. “Skirmisher legends’ pick rate already being much higher on average is why it is the way it is,” another said said. “They probably felt like buffing them more was unnecessary.” Season 16’s release is right around the corner and is expected to be a breath of fresh air for players after a longer-than-usual Season 15. We guess we’ll just have to wait and see how the new Legend classes pan out.

  • Apex Legends fans love Season 19’s new Nessie Easter Egg – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans love Season 19’s new Nessie Easter Egg Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends added a new Nessie Easter Egg in Season 19 and fans are loving the surprise they get at the end of the match for completing it. Apex Legends Season 19 is here, and with it came plenty of new changes like Legend buffs, Respawn system reworks, and much more. Storm Point also saw some big changes in Season 19, with multiple new POIs surrounding Wattson getting added to the map, like Wattson’s Pylon and the Zeus & Ceto Station. With the new Wattson-themed additions came a brand new Nessie Easter Egg, and players are loving the special flare it brings to the end of matches. Apex Legends players loving new Nessie Easter Egg For those players still trying to figure out how to trigger the new Nessie Easter Egg, it can only be done on Storm Point. Players need to head to the new Wattson’s Pylon POI, where there are various Nessie plushies scattered around the area. Like past Nessie Easter Eggs, these plushies can be picked up and carried in the inventory until the end of the match. According to various social media posts, if you win the game while holding a Nessie plush from Storm Point, the loveable monster will photobomb your victory screen. “Lmao how cute,” said one Reddit user, while another wondered if there was “any chance we can fill the whole screen with Nessi’s.” However, it appears as though the Easter Egg doesn’t exclusively have to deal with winning a battle royale game. According to some fans, the Nessie plush will even appear on top of one’s death box after getting knocked out of the game. “Got my first one last night and I forgot my and my friend had a Nessie. My favorite part is that the Nessie pops up on your death box when you die.” Developer Respawn Entertainment has a long history of including Nessie Easter Eggs in not only Apex Legends but the Titanfall series as well. As such, it’s always a nice surprise seeing Nessie pop up in new seasons.

  • Apex Legends fans increase Titanfall 2 player count as wait for sequel continues – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans increase Titanfall 2 player count as wait for sequel continues Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are banding together to further increase Titanfall 2’s player count on Steam in hopes Respawn will respond with a sequel for the title. Released all the way back in 2016, Titanfall 2 sold 4 million copies in its first year after launch, developing a large and dedicated fanbase. Eventually, as with any title, the excitement surrounding the game died down and Respawn Entertainment began working on their ever-popular battle royale title, Apex Legends. However, despite being over five years since a new game was released in the Titanfall franchise, fans are still desperate for a sequel. In an attempt to show Respawn there’s still demand for a new Titanfall game, the Apex Legends community has rallied together to boost Titanfall 2’s player count on Steam. Titanfall 2 player count skyrockets in bid for sequel According to Steam Charts, in March of 2021 Titanfall 2’s peak concurrent player count was sat at 2,655. Now, in April, the number of players has skyrocketed, with the title reaching a peak of 16,958. A lot of players have made it very clear that they’re playing the game in hopes that Respawn will notice and decide to make a sequel. Dedicated threads have even started popping up on the Apex Legends subreddit, encouraging the community to hop on Titanfall 2. Despite this, there are a number of other factors at play that have caused the resurgence of Titanfall 2 on Steam. For starters, Apex’s upcoming new ‘Legacy’ Season has strong ties to the Titanfall lore and has no doubt spurred a lot of fans to revisit the old shooter. On top of this, Titanfall 2 was selling at a discount price on the Steam store in mid-April, with a lot of new players picking up the title for 75% off. Titanfall 2 players on Steam have increased 940% this month 👀 Still don’t feel bad about killing Viper – BT for life 🤷♂️ — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) April 20, 2021 It’s difficult to know whether Respawn will use this resurgence as a motive to develop another title in the Titanfall franchise. They already have a huge game in Apex Legends that is continuing to grow in popularity year on year. No matter what developers opt to do, the players have certainly sent a message that they’re patiently waiting and that there’s still demand for a sequel.

  • Apex Legends fans heap praise on Respawn for Voidwalker event – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans heap praise on Respawn for Voidwalker event Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment have long been criticized by members of the Apex Legends online community for a lack of content being added to the game, but have the tables turned in Season 2? The event kicked off on September 3 and, as seen in the official patch notes, introduced a whole host of changes to the battle royale game – including brand new portal in the sky, an Armed and Dangerous limited time mode, Wraith Town location and even a decrease in cosmetic pricing. These type of changes have been called for by fans for quite some time, in order to freshen things up in-game and give people the opportunity to pick up skins more affordably. Let’s take a look at the final verdict on the Voidwalker event from the players’ perspective. Since the update first landed in-game, thousands of players have jumped into Kings Canyon, been trying out the different features and posting their thoughts online. In a thread featuring on the Apex Legends subreddit, it very much looks like fans have come to a consensus around it as well. A thread named: “Can we show some love towards this event? Respawn, you did an amazing job” and started by user mikeytlive has gained a lot of traction, with others chiming in with their own verdicts on the event. One user responded: “Not gonna lie, that the portal drop zone is some of the most fun I’ve ever had in this game,” while another posted: “Especially great job on the new location! This adds a great landing location to the map and its finally a good spot on the east side.” While some reduced price cosmetics have been added to the game for the start of this update, where fans can pick them up for $5, many still have gripes about the price of skins overall. “$20 for a skin is still completely absurd and needs to change but otherwise good stuff,” one user wrote, and many others agreed in the thread. On the whole, though, there has definitely been a largely positive response this time around.

  • Apex Legends fans have brilliant idea for Call of Duty-like post-game stats – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans have brilliant idea for Call of Duty-like post-game stats Respawn/EAApex Legends players have got an idea for a post-game feedback change that would help the battle royale fall in line with Fortnite and Call of Duty’s stats backlog. Just like some of its other battle royale rivals, Apex Legends lets you know exactly how you were eliminated and who you fell victim to before sending you back to the pre-game lobby. You can see what damage you inflicted as well, but for some players, that’s just not enough. They want more details from a particular lobby or streak of games so they can see where they need to improve, or even brag about their success. The backlog of stats is something both Fortnite and Call of Duty have as fans can go back and get a detailed breakdown on recent matches. Now, one Apex fan has shown how Respawn could implement it in their own battle royale. The idea comes from Redditor laughie1, as they knocked up a concept image of how a detailed breakdown of stats from recent matches could look in-game. Alongside the normal kills and placement stats, the idea shows how players could look back on how long they lasted in the game, how accurate they were with shots, as well as just exactly how much XP and RP was earned, or lost, during the match. Players quickly chimed in with their support for the idea, noting how Apex’s rivals already do it. “Fortnite figured it out five years ago, so, surely…” added one. “They should add a whole screen for this,” commented another, suggesting that you could even get breakdowns for each weapon and ability used too. The additional stats pages have become a thing in Apex Legends: Mobile, as you can see the damage fall-off and recoil patterns, amongst other things, for each weapon. Fans of the main game have already called on Respawn to implement that, so maybe they could kill two birds with one stats-loaded stone.

  • Apex Legends fans find awkward problem with Season 14 trailer – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans find awkward problem with Season 14 trailer Electronic ArtsApex Legends players trying to watch the Season 14 gameplay trailer ran into an issue wherein certain versions of the video were age-restricted. Season 14 of Apex Legends, known as Hunted, will go live next week on Tuesday, August 9. Notably, the forthcoming content drop will introduce players to a new Legend – Vantage. Respawn plans to unleash another Battle Pass once Season 14 releases, as well. Apex Legends users can additionally look forward to changes for the Kings Canyon map, which include POI modifications, loot-based alterations, and more. Vantage and the reforged Kings Canyon were shown off in Season 14’s gameplay trailer. However, the trailer’s launch proved troublesome for some players. Apex Legends Season 14 trailer came with an age restriction Earlier today, Respawn Entertainment unleashed a first look at Apex Legends’ Season 14 gameplay. The glimpse came via a two-minute trailer that many watched on the official Apex Legends YouTube channel. When the video first went up, however, users such as Redditor DaddyDog065 were unable to watch it because of an age-restriction label. Many with a personal YouTube account may not see the problem. Yet, Retretated and CatDroodIsForRun noted that under EU law, some European countries require users to “send proof of ID to Google” to watch age-restricted content on the platform. At the time of writing, this issue seems to have been resolved, suggesting Respawn and EA had little to do with the restriction. YouTube is known to flag videos, even if there exists no cause for age-related concerns. But in this case, there may have been a few scenes in the opening shots of Apex Legends’ Season 14 trailer that may have led to YouTube enforcing an age requirement early on.

  • Apex Legends fans demand reworks for OG characters after Revenant Reborn – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans demand reworks for OG characters after Revenant Reborn Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans are hoping that two long-standing legends are given the Revenant Reborn rework treatment before long to stop them being the “worst” in the battle royale. While Respawn Entertainment have regularly added new legends to the Apex Legends roster, they have also continued to tinker with those that they added to the battle royale originally in the first place. Some legends, like Pathfinder, Lifeline, and Mirage have had their abilities changed because they were simply too strong during games at one point or another over the last few years. Respawn have also dished out class changes to give legends different perks on top of their normal abilities. In Season 18, they went a little step further by completely reworking Revenant. The terrifying simulacrum became Revenant Reborn as a result of the changes, with his iconic totem Ultimate replaced by the Forged Shadows ability. Apex Legends fans claim two OG characters need reworks With reworks being a long-standing topic of conversation in the battle royale, fans have, once again, put forward who they want to be reworked after Revenant. While pretty all of their current roster were suggested by fans, two stood out above the rest – Mirage and Lifeline. “Mirage. Arguably the worst legend now compared to everyone else with their 400 abilities,” one fan said, getting around 450 likes in support of that. Twitch streamer BirnoOCE suggested Lifeline, for a number of reasons. “One of the most played legends. OG Legend. Fun Legend. Outclassed in almost all her abilities. Cool voice lines. Loved by player base,” he said, getting way over 700 likes on his post. Other supporters of a Lifeline rework, again, pointed to Newcastle having similarly stronger abilities and thats why they want a bit of respect shown to the longer-standing medic. Prior to Season 18’s launch, Respawn told Dexerto that they won’t rule out future reworks but they aren’t committed to any either. If something need fixing, then they’ll take a look. So, who knows if fans will ever get their wish.

  • Apex Legends fans demand Firing Range overhaul that would be perfect for upping your game – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans demand Firing Range overhaul that would be perfect for upping your game RespawnApex Legends players have called on Respawn to implement an overhaul to the current Firing Range system so that could not only practice with weapons, but also movement and abilities. Like most games, Apex Legends gives fans the chance to hone their skills in a practice arena. Firing Range, as it’s known in Apex, allows players to experiment with weapons and attachments. For most, it can be useful for testing any new weapon that comes to the game so that you can quickly get a feel for its recoil and such, but many just ignore it unless Respawn uses it for an event or teaser. Many PC players will, instead, opt for third-party solutions to improve their aim skills but some fans would like to see a bigger overhaul made so that it’s not just weapons that you can get to grips with. It was an idea floated by Redditor 69littleduck69 using gameplay from YouTuber MonkeySniper, showing how Firing Range could well be expanded upon far more than just being a spot to test weapons. They called on the devs to consider it, saying: “Please devs, we wouldn’t need Aim Labs anymore.” In the video, there are a few highly-request for Firing Range, including infinite magazines, different aim games, and being able to change the speed of the targets. Additionally, they would also add an ‘upper level’ so that players can practice movement and jumps in tight spaces that would be pretty helpful in matches. Plus a spot to test out different abilities quickly. The response is overwhelmingly positive as it appears to be a popular idea with fans. “This would be amazing. The firing range kinda sucks right now,” said one. “Yes, please get this to the devs somehow,” added another. Other concepts and mods have just expanded on the weapon training side of Firing Range but this new idea clearly encompasses the full range of skills you need to succeed in Apex. Maybe, just maybe, Respawn will hear the calls for change.

  • Apex Legends fans demand Dive Trail customization options over removal – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans demand Dive Trail customization options over removal Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans have called for Respawn to implement visibility options for Dive Trails in Season 18 instead of outright removing them. Season 18 of Apex Legends is on the horizon, and developer Respawn Entertainment has already offered up a glimpse of some early details surrounding what’s next for the battle royale. Respawn revealed that there would be some changes surrounding Ranked in Season 18, resulting in the outright removal of Dive Trails in favor of Banner Frames that awarded at the end of each season. However, some fans have called on the dev team to implement alternate visibility options instead of getting rid of Dive Trails in Ranked starting in Season 18. Apex Legends fans propose Dive Trail solution in Season 18 A post on the Apex Legends subreddit proposed the solution. The OP said, “Instead of removing the beauty of Dive Trails, they should give every play the possibility to choose who can see the dive trails like ‘just me,’ ‘just me and my team,’ or ‘everyone.’” Players in the comments voiced support for the idea, with some saying this solution is what Respawn “should have done” instead of removing them. Many fans in the comments voiced their appreciation for Dive Trails and would be sad to see them disappear from Apex Legends. “Something besides removing them… I am so upset about this change and I hope they hear the MAJORITY of the community that does not want this.” Others guessed that this may have had something to do with Season 17’s lackluster Ranked season, as many more players likely earned Dive Trails thanks to Season 17’s point system. “Funny they make a change like this after they f**k ranked up so bad that there are 2 million Master’s players this season.” The news of this change also has some worried Dive Trail’s removal in Ranked may just be an excuse to sell more in the in-game store. While we still don’t know exactly how Respawn intends to handle the removal of Dive Trails in Season 18, it seems some fans can’t help but feel concerned.

  • Apex Legends fans demand Crypto rework after seeing what Valkryie’s capable of – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans demand Crypto rework after seeing what Valkryie’s capable of RespawnThe release of Valkyrie has caused many Crypto fans to weigh in on whether or not the Surveillance Expert should receive a mini rework. Apex Legends is filled with all kinds of Legends and while some may prove stronger than others, each one has its own strengths and weaknesses. One Legend that has continually divided the community is Crypto. Not only does the Surveillance Expert have one of the most intricate kits, but he also has one of the most complex playstyles in the entire game. This is in direct contrast to Valkyrie, another Legend that offers great intel on enemy squads. In fact, Valkyrie has proven so potent that Respawn has already nerfed her VTOL Jets. Despite having her wings clipped, many Crypto mains are still unhappy with how she performs in contrast to intel gathering Legend. Crypto fans call for Legend rework While Crypto may be extremely strong when mastered, the tech-loving Legend requires a lot of skill to utilize effectively. This contrasts Valkyrie, who can reveal enemies when skydiving, effortlessly reposition with VTOL Jets/Skyward Dive, and instantly engage enemies with Missile Swarm. These clear strengths have led many Crypto fans to call for a rework, mainly to his drone. “I’d like his drone to work like Mirage’s holograms. You can just throw the drone down and then hit another button to activate it and enter it,” says Jedi_Outcast. “If I want the drone to watch a room, it takes a minimum of around 6 seconds which is a long time in combat.” The current Apex Legends meta largely revolves around getting in and out of combat quickly, especially if you wish to reduce your chances of getting third-partied. Unfortunately, Crypto’s drone does make the Legend incredibly vulnerable. “You need to go slow with Crypto and the current meta is to charge in for kills,” says Phusra. “Hard to play with that and against that when it takes over 5 seconds just to enter or exit the drone. It should be instant.” Of course, some don’t wish to see a rework or addition of a passive ability to the Surveillance Expert. “Gotta add this, Crypto is like Wattson. If you don’t use them right or just don’t bother to learn them, they’re quite garbage, but the second you invest time and skill into them… you become a menace,” says ValkittyTheBestKitty. Crypto is the only Legend that can recover his teammates’ banners without ever having to put himself in danger, while also using Survey Beacons and Respawn Beacons instantly. If that wasn’t enough, the Legend can also disable traps and damage shields. The benefits of playing Crypto are certainly there, but he requires a lot of skill to utilize, unlike some other Legends. Whether Respawn will rework Crypto in a future update remains to be seen, but for now, it looks like the Recon’s work will continue to be largely underappreciated.

  • Apex Legends fans dazzled by Wattson Prestige skin concept inspired by Marvel’s Mysterio – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans dazzled by Wattson Prestige skin concept inspired by Marvel’s Mysterio Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends fan showed their idea for a Mysterio-inspired Wattson prestige skin to Reddit and fans loved it. Apex Legends first added prestige skins, the evolving, Mythic-tier skins, during their third anniversary event back in 2022. Since then, Legends Bloodhoud, Bangalore, Wraith, Caustic, Valkyrie, Loba, and Revenant all have their own prestige skins, and fans have been calling for a Wattson skin to be the next released. And one fan’s concept for said Wattson skin, inspired by Marvel’s Mysterio, proved a hit with the community. “What if the final tier of her prestige skin gives her a domed helmet sort of like Mysterio from Marvel…. Except it’s one of those plasma ball lamps?” They asked fans on Reddit while sharing the idea. The reception to the idea itself was mostly positive, “I love the concept!” One user replied. “Changes might have to be made to get the silhouette to be more Wattson like but it’s unique at least…” But not everyone in the Apex Legends community is happy with the developer’s focus on cosmetic items, and comments in the thread soon turned toward discussion about the cost of prestige skins. “It’s crazy how we have accepted prestige skins as normal. Almost like a $160 skin is a f***ing scam.” Said one commenter, who had received 760 upvotes. The Apex Legends community didn’t keep their complaints about the cost of items in the game’s recent FFVII crossover event a secret. Respawn also faced backlash from fans about the quality of skin designs recently, with some fans finding them ‘boring’. Maybe including community-sourced designs could provide Respawn with an olive branch for the fans might not be happy with the price point of prestige skins or cosmetics.

  • Apex Legends’ fans create perfect way to reward kill leader – Dexerto

Apex Legends’ fans create perfect way to reward kill leader Apex Legends’ fans have come up with a simple yet ingenious way of acknowledging the kill leader in-game. Apex Legends is now a staple of the battle royale realm. In its short tenure within the genre, the game has reinvented the wheel in terms of its features. Adding elements like a ping system and respawn beacons innovated the genre, from which other leading titles shortly followed suit. Although the battle royale has undoubtedly brought a fresh take on a booming genre, there are still features which fans are calling out for. Big changes, such as incorporating replays and cross-play integration have been commonly requested from the community. However, sometimes it is the smaller tidbits which can go a long way. One concept is to recognize the kill leader through adding a crown onto the skull that represents the kill count in-game. Initially posted to the Apex Legends subreddit by ‘crims9n’ shortly after the game’s release, a fellow Reddit user has re-posted the concept in a bid to gain some traction. Although the concept is relatively basic, the initial post received 46k upvotes, and in just over 12 hours of going live, the repost had gained over 2k upvotes. On paper, the concept would be relatively easy to implement. Moreover, the notion of recognizing the kill leader could also come with XP benefits. For example, the longer a player holds onto the kill leader badge, the more XP they generate. With a new level cap on its way in a forthcoming update, an incentive such as this would prompt more fast-paced action in order to reap the rewards of a sizable XP bonus and thus net more Apex packs. Squads would use the banners that are dotted around the map to actively seek the Legend with the most kills, strip them of their XP bonus and be rewarded with a bonus of their own. Following the death of the former kill leader, the XP bonus would then be passed onto the next highest Legend in the server and would be capped near the endgame (e.g., last five squads). Not only would this incentivize players to seek kills in the early game, it would shake-up the current conservative playstyle/meta that is currently being sported on World’s Edge. A risk-reward scenario such as this could be exactly what the Apex Games need to spice up the action.

  • Apex Legends fans claim Loba’s heirloom seen in Season 5 teaser – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans claim Loba’s heirloom seen in Season 5 teaser Respawn EntertainmentEagle-eyed Apex Legends fans think a new heirloom for Loba has already been teased – potentially even in the Season 5 trailer that dropped on April 30. Respawn Entertainment has finally confirmed the addition of Loba for Season 5, following weeks of anticipation and rumors. The news was confirmed on April 30, with a video of Loba’s background entitled “Legacy of a Thief”. There are multiple leaks indicating what Loba’s in-game abilities will look like, but these are yet to be confirmed by Respawn. Regardless, fans of the battle royale think they may have already found teasers for Loba’s heirloom, in both the “Legacy of a Thief” and official artwork of the upcoming legend. Heirlooms are ultra-rare in-game items, pertaining to specific legends. For every 500 Apex Packs a player opens, they are guaranteed 1 heirloom. Currently, only five legends have specific heirloom sets: Wraith, Bloodhound, Lifeline, Pathfinder, and Octane. In the trailer, Loba can be seen beating enemies with a cane of sorts, something has become clearer in the official artwork. She is frequently seen with a staff, sharpened at one end while the other end is a wolf head. Loba, in Portuguese, means ‘wolf’. While there has been no official confirmation, a number of Apex fans have picked up on the item and think it could be a hint at an upcoming heirloom. One fan argued: “[It] would actually make perfect sense, she uses it as a melee weapon in the trailer so I wouldn’t be surprised at all. And it’s f**king beautiful too.” Others, however, suggested that it appears too large to be an heirloom. Bloodhound’s heirloom, for example, is a miniature axe that is considerably smaller than Loba’s staff. We’ll have to wait and see what Respawn have up their sleeves, as there are a number of legends who have been in the game far longer than Loba, and do not currently have heirlooms available to them. Octane, though, was added as a DLC legend in Season 1, and has been given one ahead of multiple base legends. Maybe Loba will follow suit.

  • Apex Legends fans claim it is “bleeding” players as player count keeps dropping – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans claim it is “bleeding” players as player count keeps dropping EAApex Legends is seemingly “bleeding” players as the battle royale has dropped a few places on Steam’s most-played games charts. Over the last 12 months, Apex Legends’ player count has taken a hit at times for a few different reasons. Players have been annoyed with cheaters running wild, legends being undercooked, server problems, and a few other things. However, prior to the start of season 22, they started rebelling against Respawn Entertainment’s decision to add a Premium+ tier to the battle pass. Initially, the new part of the battle pass could only be purchased with real-world money and not Apex Coins. This has since been reverted. On top of that, the battle royale has suffered with another influx of cheaters, and together, the two problems has seen the game’s player count fall off. “The game hasn’t seen a lower average player month since January of 202,” Redditor Kaateiku said, pointing out that the battle royale had slipped out of Steam’s top 10 most-played games on July 28 for a period. “Game is bleeding players,” another player added. “Damn, PUBG has higher playercount than Apex now. Feels like 2019 again lmao,” another player pointed out. “With what they’ve been demonstrating, the game will continue to lose players unfortunately,” commented another. Others argued that the falloff wasn’t as harsh as some players had made out. “You took a screenshot when Apex is historically at its lowest every day, while ignoring when it’s its peak. It was at 220k earlier today. It hits its peak around 07:00 and hits its lowest around 19:00,” one player argued. As per SteamCharts, the battle royale’s average player count is at its lowest point since Season 11, with that average dropping by nearly 30,000 players in the last month alone. That is, obviously, just the Steam count and doesn’t account for Xbox, PlayStation, or EA Origin. Respawn have promised to tackle the cheating problems and pledged to “get better” when it comes to talking about big changes like the battle pass overhuall. So, maybe they’ll win back some of those players.

  • Apex Legends fans call for Valkyrie nerfs ahead of Season 13 – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans call for Valkyrie nerfs ahead of Season 13 Respawn/EAApex Legends players are demanding nerfs to Valkyrie ahead of the release of Season 13 after claiming that her ultimate cooldown timer doesn’t exactly make sense when compared to others. Apex Legends Season 13 is set to kick off on May 10 and is expected to bring a slew of new additions to Respawn’s popular Titanfall-inspired battle royale. From a new Legend named Newcastle, to map changes, and a new reworked rank system are just a few things players can expect. However, fans have banded together, suggesting that the devs make necessary changes to Valkryie’s ultimate cooldown which “doesn’t make sense.” In a May 7 Reddit thread, an Apex Legends player hit out at the stupidity of the cooldown times when it comes to different Legends’ ultimate abilities. As noted by the fan, it “doesn’t make sense” that Valkyrie’s ultimate – which is practically a free way to rotate around the map – has such a low cooldown time compared to Lifeline’s ultimate that doesn’t have as big of an impact on the game. “Yeah, because this makes sense that a free rotation tool has 3 minutes cooldown but a mostly useless care package has nearly double in terms of deploy time,” they wrote. While it’s certainly frustrating that Valkyrie’s cooldown is significantly shorter, a reply from one fan added that the main problem stems from Lifeline’s ability being practically useless. “I don’t care if Valkyrie’s cool-down time stays the way that it is,” they said. “The problem is LL’s ability becoming completely useless, and I’d rather see more Legends with good abilities than everyone being nerfed to the ground.” “Valkyrie needs some serious nerfs honestly,” another added. “Master and Predator rank is full of Valks not to mention ALGS, I think she has a 100% pick rate.” Only time will tell if the devs will choose the nerf the popular Legend in Season 13, and, fortunately, players won’t have to wait too much further until its release.

  • Apex Legends fans call for rework as “decimated” legend is barely used anymore – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans call for rework as “decimated” legend is barely used anymore Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players want Respawn to rework a character that everyone used to love but has been “decimated” by nerfs over the last few seasons. Over the last few years, Apex Legends’ roster of characters has undergone some massive changes. While the likes of Pathfinder, Wraith, and Bloodhound continue to go strong at the top of the meta, the same can’t be said for others. Valkyrie was, at one point, the most-popular legend in the futuristic battle royale. Her Skyward Dive ultimate was the popular ability in the game, allowing teams to quickly rotate and also get off a quick scan of enemy locations. However, the Winged Avenger has slipped way down the pecking order due to a raft of nerfs. According to players like WanderWut, they believe she has actually been “decimated” in recent seasons. “Respawn decimated her with nerfs and with items that make her pointless as a strategic character choice for teams. She needs some love Respawn, at this point, it feels like a rework should be in order,” they said. “Make her jetpack work like it does In the trailers, enough said. An awkward 10-second hover is just lame,” one player suggested. “Speed change would make her OP but it’s really the only way to fix her jetpack and set her apart. Or maybe allow her to do tricks like banshees in Halo,” another added. “From the few times I use her the rockets she shoots feel useless. I feel like it’s easier to dodge than a bang ult but it’s a tighter spread,” another player commented, suggesting she should have “better visibility” when using her Ultimate. “She needs a new tactical. No need for her to have stunning rockets. A smaller team movement ability would be cool,” another added. Those claims are backed up by stats too. As per ApexLegendStatus, Valkyrie has slipped into the bottom 10 when it comes to usage. She sits with a 1.9% pick rate, which is on par with the likes of Crypto and Gibraltar. It remains to be seen if Respawn will hear players’ calls and rework Valkyrie, but it would be nice.

  • Apex Legends fans call for Respawn to add hidden feature to Mythic sets like Valkyrie – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans call for Respawn to add hidden feature to Mythic sets like Valkyrie Respawn/EAApex Legends players want Respawn to go back and add dive trails to come Mythic bundles as the one that comes with Valkyrie’s Mythic skin can be used on any legend. When it comes to character skins, weapon cosmetics, and other collectibles, Apex Legends has followed hot on the heels of what the likes of Fortnite and H1Z1 first brought to the Battle Royale market. Respawn has continued to add brand-new cosmetics every season, especially with new events and the arrival of new legends. Though, they’ve taken things up a notch with the arrival of Mythic skins. These skins work just like heirlooms in that only character receives one in a season and they’re pretty pricey to buy. The newest, Valkyrie’s Apex Interceptor set, comes with something the others don’t – a dive trail – but it isn’t specific to her. Valkyrie dive trial can be added to any Apex Legends character That’s right, the new Valkyrie contains a Mythic dive trail as well known as Bladed Descent, and some fans have noted that it can actually be used with any legend. Redditor WanderWut flagged the finding after getting their hands on the bundle, and plenty of players had no idea about it. As a result, many suggested that Reespawn needs to go back to the old bundles and open them up to other legends with similar cosmetics. “I hope they go back and give the other prestige skins ones as well,” said one. “Now they gotta add the ones for the other mythic skins,” added another. “Well at least they adding more stuff to make it a little better and driving trail would increase its worth,” commented another. Equipping the dive trail to the any legend that isn’t Valkyrie is pretty simple. You just follow the usual steps of equipping it via your inventory – there aren’t any special tips or tricks to do so. It remains to be seen if the calls will be heard and if Respawn will go back and open up the other Mythic bundles with different cosmetics. Though, fans remain hopeful.

  • Apex Legends fans blown away by Revenant’s musical note in Ignite trailer – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans blown away by Revenant’s musical note in Ignite trailer YouTube: Apex LegendsApex Legends’s Ignite launch trailer has surprised many players, largely in part due to Revenant’s musical note. Season 19 of Apex Legends, Ignite, is near its launch date. With the newest season comes Conduit, whose rumored abilities will play a huge factor in their team’s survival. The latest launch trailer for Ignite has finally been released to the public, and there’s plenty to love, as brief snippets of Conduit’s abilities flash onscreen. Of course, the trailer also featured great moments such as the easily avoided Bangalore ultimate and a beloved quote, “Mozambique here.” Yet, the part most Apex Legends fans enjoyed came from an unlikely source: Revenant and his beautiful melody. Apex Legends players love Revenant’s brief musical segment In the Dropship, Conduit practices her introduction with Gibraltar and Mirage. Mirage advised Conduit to go for a “showy” approach, which led to a musical daydream reminiscent of a Disney film. It started off with Conduit beautifully singing her heart out. However, the camera then panned out and revealed a spotlight for Revenant, who went off in a rock segment. It landed exceptionally well, until Conduit is brought back to reality by Revenant’s miserable “no.” This brief segment caught fans by surprise, as it completely went against what fans have come to expect from the murderous being. Fans in the Apex Legends’ comments section were left speechless, as one viewer perfectly stated, “Nothing in the world could have prepared me for Revenant doing that.” “Rev killed this part like he did with Loba’s parents, I definitely need a full version,” replied another viewer. Others demanded a full version of the Revenant’s segment, “I SCREAMED as Revenant was made to sing. I need more of this and with him being the main singer.” Fans took to Twitter to share their glowing reviews. It’s safe to say this musical skit went over well with the fanbase. Here’s hoping Respawn continues to deliver, and maybe give Revenant more musical reps in future Apex Legends content.

  • Apex Legends fans are review bombing game to get Respawn to address major issues – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans are review bombing game to get Respawn to address major issues Respawn/EAFrustrated Apex Legends players have started hitting the battle royale with plenty of mixed reviews as they try to get Respawn’s attention in hopes they address the laundry list of in-game issues. Apex Legends has very much cemented itself amongst the top battle royale games around, but while it’s a hit, that doesn’t make everything all bright and rosy. In recent weeks, players have been complaining about a lengthy list of issues, including constant server lag, game crashes, and longstanding bugs making a return – mainly the random character change upon respawn and lack of audio. Fans of Respawn’s battle royale have taken to social media to plead with the devs to make changes, which is slightly difficult as they’re working on the new season. So, they’ve watched up their campaign and started targeting the game’s reviews. For the longest time, Apex has had overwhelmingly ‘positive’ community reviews on Steam but as the issues have started to stack up in the last few weeks, things have changed. While the overall review of the game still has the ‘very positive’ tag, the most recent reviews fall into the ‘mixed’ category, and that isn’t just the result of a few hundred frustrated players. No, there have been over 21,000 recent reviews with many pointing to the server issues as the reason for their frustration. Players are hoping that by negatively affecting the reviews, Respawn has to take note. “Honestly, I’m very glad the game is deserving its current hate. The devs have neglected all of their games and now Apex,” said one. “This is how change is made honestly,” added another. With the issues stacking up, some players have given up on the battle royale altogether, but it still maintains a healthy player base and remains popular on both Twitch and YouTube. The developers have already stated that some issues – with Ranked Arenas being an example – will be addressed next season, but it remains to be seen if every problem will be cleared up.

  • Apex Legends fans are loving the Nessie Materia in FF7 Rebirth event – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans are loving the Nessie Materia in FF7 Rebirth event Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans are head over heels for a specific Materia that can be found during the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth crossover event – which makes Nessie a fighter. Apex Legends’ Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth crossover event has finally begun, and those who play Trios can now play the battle royal with FF7-inspired items. Different items are scattered throughout the map during this event, including the iconic Buster Sword weapon and five different Materia fans can equip to different weapons. However, one specific Materia has risen above the others in the community’s eyes, thanks to the adorable helper that players get from equipping it. Apex Legends fans love the Red Materia hop-up A post on the Apex Legends subreddit highlighted exactly why the Red Materia has become a fan-favorite hop-up during the event. “My absolute favorite thing in this event,” they said, with a brief video showing the adorable chaos that comes with the Nessie Plush that spawns in. Equipping the Red Materia to a weapon spawns a SOLDIER Nessie that follows you and attacks enemies on sight. Players can also pet Nessie to heal, which emits a heart-shaped puff of smoke. Fans in the comments echoed the OP’s sentiments, with many praising SOLDIER Nessie’s charm. “I love this too! caught me off guard at first, I couldn’t stop looking at it and petting it, it’s so cute!” Many players also found the little plushie’s antics hilarious, as one Reddit user said, “I absolutely adore him, what’s hilarious is I closed a door behind me and then the Nessie broke it down by slamming its body into it. Absolutely amazing.” Others noted that this Nessie summon can be pretty intimidating as well. “That little b*stard kept pecking away at my teammate and I while we were knocked,” a player recounted. “Felt far more threatening than a player standing there deciding if he they were going to waste ammo on us or not.” Players who want to wreak havoc in Trios with an army of Nessie Plushes can equip Red Materia to the Kraber, Havoc, Mozambique, P2020, and RE-45. Now, some players are hoping there will be a Legend with Nessie pet abilities.

  • Apex Legends fans are convinced Horizon’s heirloom is an adult toy – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans are convinced Horizon’s heirloom is an adult toy Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have noticed that Horizon’s new heirloom vaguely resembles something a bit risque, and fans are going wild over it. For those who may have missed it, Apex Legends’s Horizon has finally received her heirloom through the Dressed to Kill Collection event, starting on June 20, 2023. Her heirloom is called the Gravity Maw, and looks like a wand with a spiky black hole on the end of it. During the event, if players unlock all 24 cosmetics they can get their hands on Horizon’s heirloom. However, Apex Legends fans are more interested in the actual design of the Gravity Maw, as some have pointed out that the heirloom looks an adult toy in their eyes. Apex Legends compare Horizon heirloom to certain adult toy Twitch streamer and former NRG pro player LuluLuvely quote retweeted Respawn Entertainment’s Gravity Maw heirloom reveal, and pointed out the spicy design. “I already have this heirloom in my bedside table but mine doesn’t have those cool little spikes,” the Twitch streamer said, making a not-so-sublte nod to a certain type of adult toy. Lulu’s tweet gained nearly 30,000 likes in just two days, with hundreds of Apex fans flooding the replies to laugh at the outrageous comparison. And, while some people disagreed with her, many couldn’t deny the striking resemblance. “Glad I’m not the only one,” replied SoaR content creator Lex, while another Apex player claimed that this heirloom was “for the girls.” Following Lulu’s tweet exploding on social media, other fans started to come to the same conclusion and pointed the heirlooms design in some… not-so-subtle ways. At the time of writing, it’s unclear whether Respawn Entertainment will alter the design of Horizon’s Gravity Maw, though it’s popularity amongst the Apex Legends community is undeniable. Here’s to hoping her heirloom isn’t too distracting in-game.

  • Apex Legends fans accuse devs of using AI art for FF7 Rebirth crossover – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans accuse devs of using AI art for FF7 Rebirth crossover Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans took to social media to accuse the game’s developers of using AI art for some promotional material during the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth event. Apex Legends revealed a collaboration event with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth during the 2023 Video Game Awards show on December 7, 2023. With the event set to begin on January 6, 2024, the development team has released promotional materials to get fans excited about what’s in store. However, some fans have claimed the devs used AI art in some of those promotional materials and took to social media to call out the alleged practice. Apex Legends fans call out alleged AI art use in FF7 Rebirth collab The discussion surrounding AI art began when Art Director and Designer Thorsten Denk accused the dev team of using AI to create interstitial art during a recent trailer. In a post on X, Denk said, “Apex Legends/EA using AI instead of paying artists for their promo art is just depressing. Pandora’s box has truly been opened and it feels to me like we’ve collectively decided to devalue the human soul for profit.” The digital artist shared two screenshots of art from the Apex Legends x FF7 Rebirth trailer, featuring Valkyrie and Wattson. In his post, Denk circled several elements of the artwork to show the alleged AI usage. Many artists and members of the gaming community replied to the initial tweet with their thoughts on the situation. Rainbow Six Siege Community Artist Elevate KOOBI said, “I hadn’t heard of that until now 🙁 Especially sh*tty to see when you know that they’ve been working with talented artists like IFrAgMenTIx in the past.” I hadn’t heard of that until now 🙁 — Elevate KOOBI (@MadeByKOOBI) January 6, 2024 Especially shitty to see when you know that they’ve been working with talented artists like @/IFrAgMenTIx in the past Has the Apex community noticed this yet and brought this to attention or not? In fact, the official Apex Legends X account shared art created by Fragment on January 5, 2024. The use of AI continues to be a hot-button topic in the video games industry, with games like The Finals embracing the use of AI during development. At the time of writing, neither developer Respawn Entertainment nor publisher EA have acknowledged the claim.

  • Apex Legends fanatic hijacks airport screen to play before his flight – Dexerto

Apex Legends fanatic hijacks airport screen to play before his flight Respawn Entertainment / PixabayOne Apex Legends fanatic couldn’t wait to start playing his favorite game again, taking over a screen at Portland International Airport to get in a game or two before being kicked off by security. While some people complain about airplane legroom, or overly priced food at airports, one of the most annoying things about travelling can be the long waits for your flight. Unless you have a Nintendo Switch or a powerful laptop on hand, gaming can seem so far away while you are waiting for the final call. However, this one traveler decided that he couldn’t wait to land and play some Apex Legends. Initially reported by KXL News, a traveler flying out of Portland International Airport in the early hours of January 16 hooked up his PS4 to one of the hundreds of airport screens to play a game or two before his flight. The traveler sat happily in front of the departures board, transforming the terminal map into World’s Edge while waiting for his flight. He made himself comfortable in the rather quiet spot and kept to himself, until airport security came by. They politely asked the player to unplug his console from the monitor so it could go back to showing other passengers around the terminal. “[They] very kindly asked this person to unplug and cease using the monitors at the airport,” said Kana Simonds, a spokesperson for the Port of Portland. While the man asked if he could finish his game, the staffers said no, leaving the player to abandon his game and pack up shop. “Apparently it was a very polite and cordial interaction,” she said. However, it’s also a “good reminder of what not to do at the airport.” “That’s obviously something that we don’t want to have happened because travelers need the information that we are putting on the screens for them,” she said. “Power outlets for charging your phones? Absolutely. But not any other screens or monitors.” So while the traveler sadly couldn’t become the champion of that round, he is a hero for the gamers around the world who wish they could get a round or two in before a long haul.

  • Apex Legends ‘Fanatic’ Energy pistol gameplay leaked – Dexerto

Apex Legends ‘Fanatic’ Energy pistol gameplay leaked Respawn/EAA fresh Apex Legends leak has given fans a first-look at some gameplay of an energy pistol that some are calling the ‘Fanatic’, and it looks pretty sweet. Apex Legends is now well into its twelfth season as a gaming powerhouse, and Respawn Entertainment have added plenty of interesting new characters, weapons, and items along the way. In the case of new weapons, the Battle Royale developers have dipped into the Titanfall universe for inspiration before, bringing across the likes of the CAR SMG, 30-30 Repeater, and Volt as a part of seasonal updates. While it has been a few seasons since a new weapon was added, Respawn have been apparently been testing a few things out, including a new energy pistol that seemingly hits pretty hard. Redditor Pretty_Chard5030, who has dropped some reliable intel in the past, posted a video of the apparent testing on February 23, giving us a first look at the new weapon dealing significant damage to the dummies in Firing Range. While we have gameplay of how the weapon is supposed to deal with enemies, we don’t actually know what it looks like. In the video, the model of the RE-45 automatic pistol is used as a placeholder. Though, this is not uncommon. Previously, players uncovered the ‘Nemesis’ assault rifle in a similar fashion, and the R-301 Carbine model was used to show that off instead of what the weapon actually looked like. Fanatic Energy Pistol Gameplay Source: https://t.co/fFk3TQv6Ot pic.twitter.com/5qnyKWacIB — Biast12 (@Biast12) February 23, 2022 What is noticeable about this so-called Fanatic pistol, is just how much visual clutter is on-screen when zoomed in. There is a blue glow, seemingly from charging the weapon, that doesn’t disappear. Additionally, there is a noticeable bar on the weapon that appears to indicate how much ammunition, or charges, you have left to use. While it is seemingly being tested currently, there is no telling just when, or if, this weapon will appear in-game. Some weapons have been in testing forever but never released, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
