  • Apex Legends Crypto character could be melee specialist the game needs – Dexerto

Apex Legends Crypto character could be melee specialist the game needs Fans of Apex Legends have already begun conjuring up ideas for the newly-leaked legend Crypto ahead of the start of season two. Apex Legends players are gearing up for the release of the second round of seasonal content on July 2, with the possibility of being able to play as two new legends. One long-awaited Legend – Wattson – was seemingly set to be the only new character released in season two. However, dataminers uncovered the possibility of another – Crypto. While not too much is known about the mysterious character, some players have begun theorizing as to what their abilities might be, based on the hints that have been leaked so far. In a post to the Apex Legends subreddit, user 10EXP took the previously revealed information and spun it into their own concept for the character. As with the other legends, Crypto would need three abilities – a passive, tactical, and an ultimate. Read More: How to easily find Flyers in Apex Legends – 10EXP provided their idea behind that, giving the character a real close-quarters combat feel, using the sword that they have in the datamined images. For the passive, Crypto would deal extra melee damage, while the tactical would allow them to block incoming attacks with a few swings of said sword. As for the ultimate, well, that’s already been pointed towards elsewhere. The character is seemingly set to have a Jamming ability that would allow them to disrupt other players abilities and know when other ultimates have been deployed. Now, these ideas are purely theoretical and not confirmed as Crypto’s abilities, but it might not be a million miles away. The ability to JAM other ultimates did rear its head in the recent data mine and would seemingly play a role with the character – but maybe not as an ultimate. With the launch of season two just around the corner, it won’t be long before Respawn reveals the official information about their content – as well as confirming if we’ll see two new legends or just the one.

  • Apex Legends: Crypto map change teaser discovered for Season 3 – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Crypto map change teaser discovered for Season 3 Respawn EntertainmentEagle-eyed fans of Apex Legends have potentially traced Crypto’s footsteps and revealed his current location, following his brief teaser appearance in Singh Labs. Apex Legends is filled to the brim with lore from the Titanfall universe; from character backstories to in-game loot, Respawn Entertainment’s attention to detail is undeniable. Although the game is well under the one year mark, fans have already been introduced to two season’s worth of content, and with the third season just around the corner, fans of the battle royale are eager to get stuck into the new backstory and setting that will supplement it. We already know that season 3 will be titled ‘Meltdown’ and will largely revolve around the inclusion of Crypto, whose backstory can be linked back to the Voidwalker event reveal when his logo appeared on a device worn by Ghostwraith. Crypto made his first official appearance in King’s Canyon in the Singh Labs (located within the Wraith portal between Wetlands and Hydro Dam), when he was caught breaching another computer inside the labs. Now, merely days after the first sight of Crypto, u/Meow_BTW has potentially discovered the hacker’s current whereabouts and has posted to the Apex Legends subreddit with their findings. 600The Reddit user hypothesizes that Crypto is currently situated in Swamps, after hearing the same audio cues – that were initially heard when the vigilante scurried away from Singh Labs – just east of the labs’ location. The post has gained some traction, with fellow fans of the game supporting the finding that has claimed Crypto’s footsteps to be within earshot of Swamps. Of course, should the footsteps transpire to be true, Swamps could be due an overhaul as part of Crypto introduction into Season 3. Undoubtedly, adding a POI to this area would increase the frequency that players visit, given that it is one of the least popular locations within the game. Regardless, with multiple theories on Crypto’s intentions currently in circulation, the addition of the character has certainly drummed up interest within the Apex Legends community. At the time of writing, the developers have neither confirmed nor denied the developments to Crypto’s whereabouts. When is Season 3? The third season of Apex has been confirmed for an October 1 launch date, when Crypto will finally be unleashed into Kings Canyon. There will also be a new weapon, the Charge Weapon, plus an improved battle pass and some major changes to the Ranked Play mode.

  • Apex Legends Crypto Heirloom glitch transforms it into Star Wars lightsaber – Dexerto

Apex Legends Crypto Heirloom glitch transforms it into Star Wars lightsaber Respawn EntertainmentCrypto’s Heirloom has been one of the most highly anticipated cosmetics in Apex Legends. Not only does it look incredibly cool, but this glitch transforms the deadly blade into a Star Wars lightsaber. The Apex Legends Warriors Collection event reintroduced the 9v9 Control mode as well as new cosmetics for players to unlock. However, Crypto’s Heirloom has caught the attention of many fans. This new cosmetic comes packed with satisfying sound effects and unique animations that make it one of the most sought-after Heirlooms in the game. Currently, players are discovering new animations and interactions – with many recently finding the special door animation. However, a new Crypto Heirloom glitch is transforming the Biwon Blade into a Star Wars lightsaber. While this isn’t intentional, it does give the blade an iconic look. Here’s how you can replicate this glitch for yourself. Crypto Heirloom glitch transforms blade into Star Wars lightsaber Apex Legends YouTuber, Skeptation, recently discovered that the Crypto Heirloom had a cool glitch that transformed the Surveillance Expert’s sword into something reminiscent of a lightsaber. If you wish to replicate this glitch, then simply follow the instructions outlined below: Inspect the Heirloom to unsheathe the sword. – Open the emote wheel. – Select any emote. – Cancel the emote while the sword is still open. – If done correctly, Crypto’s Biwon Blade Heirloom will keep the glowing green surge of energy that covers the sword. This effect will remain on the Heirloom until you melee or switch to any weapon. Whether Respawn patches this harmless visual glitch remains to be seen, but for now, be sure to unleash the Force while it’s still active. • Apex Legends Crypto heirloom concept creates him a deadly data sword – Dexerto

Apex Legends Crypto heirloom concept creates him a deadly data sword Respawn EntertainmentOne creative Apex Legends fan has come up with a stunning Heirloom concept for Crypto that we’d love to see while running around in-game. Heirloom items are the cream of the crop when it comes to Apex cosmetics. They’re some of the rarest items players can unlock in the game and they look awesome on top of that. Not every legend has an Heirloom item yet though, even more than 2 years since release. Crypto is one of these characters, but that hasn’t stopped Apex fan and artist -Alfa from coming out with a concept we’re sure players who enjoy using the Surveillance Expert would love. If the name -Alfa sounds familiar, that’s probably because they’re also the one behind the brilliant electric fencing saber Heriloom concept for Wattson we featured earlier in July 2021. Now it’s Crypto’s turn to get his own custom blade, and we have to give it to -Alfa as they seem to have knocked it out of the park once again. The design is called the “data sword” and besides sounding like something wielded by Neo in the Matrix, it also fits perfectly with Crypto’s lore as a hacker. It does resemble his Drone Blade from the Apex Legends cinematic a bit, but it definitely looks more sword-like; with a cross guard above the hilt, and a very cool green laser blade to top it all off. Would running around as Crypto with what is basically a lightsaber be tons of fun? Yes. But whether or not his actual Heirloom will resemble anything close to the “data sword” remains to be seen. There have been plenty of so-called “leaks” regarding Crypto’s upcoming Heirloom item, but we probably won’t know exactly what it will look like until Respawn comes out with the details themselves.

  • Apex Legends Crypto buff could make him Pathfinder’s biggest threat – Dexerto

Apex Legends Crypto buff could make him Pathfinder’s biggest threat EACrypto has been dubbed one of the weaker Legends in the Apex Games, but a buff concept surrounding his Passive and Tactical abilities could place him in contention with the likes of Wraith and Pathfinder. After Crypto’s grand entrance back in Season Three, the Surveillance Expert has been somewhat underwhelming in the aftermath of the events that brought us to World’s Edge. And after receiving a few minor tweaks, Crypto still remains near the bottom of the pile relative to his other Apex Games counterparts. It is for this reason that plenty have suggested some concepts which could bolster Crypto’s chances. One Redditor suggested that Crypto could ping enemy banners to reveal their proximity relative to your team, while another user suggested that his drone could act as a means for collecting loot. While in the grand scheme of things, these suggestions are perfectly viable, they wouldn’t give Crypto enough of an edge to tip the scales in his favor. However, one player has sparked a series of ingenious ideas that could make him a big threat in the Apex Games. After stating that Crypto’s Passive and Tactical abilities should be merged into one (similar to how Wattson’s Perimeter Security fences work), the suggestion post was met with a flood of ideas on how to make Crypto an even great hacker. One user commented suggesting that Crypto “should be able to tamper with electronic devices in the game, like activating used Respawn Beacons again, or hack Survey Beacons for reconnaissance purposes.” Given Crypto’s knack for hacking, this would play perfectly into the character’s lore while giving him a unique quirk that would make him much more versatile on the battlefield. Moreover, others suggested that Crypto’s newfound Passive could hack enemy equipment, such as Wattson’s fences, Caustic’s Nox Traps or even Gibraltar’s Dome Shield — however, this might well just make him the most overpowered character in the game. So, providing the Surveillance Expert with a ‘Hacker’ Passive Ability that reactivates used Survey Beacons and/or Respawn Beacons could potentially turn the tide in his favor. One thing’s for sure, with Crypto currently standing as one of the most underpowered characters in the game, Respawn could definitely do with buffing him before another Legend comes in and bumps him further down the pile. When we asked players to pick which Legend needed a buff most, Mirage and Octane were the most popular selections, with Crypto not far behind.

  • Apex Legends confirms Skull Town returning as new Arenas map – Dexerto

Apex Legends confirms Skull Town returning as new Arenas map Respawn EntertainmentSkull Town is set for a return to Apex Legends sooner rather than later, as Respawn continues to hint at an updated look for the beloved POI in Arenas. If there’s one spot in all of Apex Legends that brings back fond memories for veteran players, it’s probably Kings Canyon’s Skull Town POI. The village nestled under a massive skeleton was one of the most chaotic and iconic zones to drop-in and explore in all of Apex, before being removed back in 2020. But it could be making a comeback, going by Respawn’s hint at Skill Towns inevitable return. Is Skull Town coming back in Apex Legends? Respawn have been teasing the Apex Legends community about the return of Skull Town, which could paint it in a fresh light when it comes back to the game. Out of nowhere on June 21, the game’s official account asked on Twitter “What if we brought back Skull Town?” and predictably, fans freaked out. ┳┻| ┻┳| ┳┻| ┻┳| ┳┻| ┻┳| ┳┻| ┻┳| ┳┻| ┻┳| ┳┻| ┻┳| ┳┻| _ ┻┳| •.•) What if we brought back ┳┻|⊂ノ Skull Town ┻┳|— Apex Legends (@PlayApex) June 21, 2021 They followed that message with another a few days later that all but confirmed what Respawn plans to do with iconic POI. Skull Town will likely return as an Arenas map in Apex’s new 3v3 mode, something fans have been asking for pretty much since the mode was announced. This would make the most sense, because it wouldn’t require a full rework of the current King’s Canyon map, and it would also bring Skull Town back for players to enjoy, once again. Now, will this new Arenas Skull Town look and play the same as the are we all know and love did? Hard to say, and the devs could very well make changes so things flow better for a 3v3 format. When is Skull Town coming back? There’s no telling when exactly the area could return to Kings Canyon, whether it’s in the next update (1.73) or sometime later in the future remains to be seen. One thing’s for sure though: we can’t wait to play into Skull Town again.

  • Apex Legends crossplay guide: How to play with friends on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch – Dexerto

Apex Legends crossplay guide: How to play with friends on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Respawn EntertainmentIf you want to play with or against players on most platforms in Apex Legends, crossplay is an essential feature. With cross-platform play, you can team up with or battle against others in the game on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. Here’s everything you need to know about how to enable crossplay in Apex Legends and how the feature works. Whether you’re meeting new teammates or grouping up with friends in Apex Legends, utilizing the crossplay function will provide a host of new players for you to squad up with or battle against. While crossplay was initially absent for the first year of the game, Respawn announced in 2020 that this would be changing, and the long-awaited cross-platform support finally made its way into the battle royale in October 2020. Here’s everything you need to know about how crossplay works in Apex Legends and how to activate the feature. Contents Is Apex Legends crossplay? – How to add friends in Apex Legends – How to turn off crossplay – Does Apex Legends have cross-platform progression? – Is crossplay enabled on Apex Legends Mobile? – Is Apex Legends crossplay? Yes, Apex Legends does have full crossplay. This means that players on PC can play with those on both current and last-gen Xbox and PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch too. In order to play together, you’ll need to be in a party, but be aware that you’ll be matched with players from across the console and PC spectrum depending on what platforms your squad is playing on. How to add cross-platform friends in Apex Legends Finding people to play with on other platforms is relatively easy. All you’ll need to connect with players on other platforms is their in-game name. Simply follow these steps: Open Apex Legends – Navigate to the ‘Friends‘ tab from the main menu – Hit the ‘Find Friend‘ option – Search for their username – Select their profile from the drop-down menu – You’re now friends and able to play with each other across platforms! – Keep in mind, the game will automatically look for any player matching that name on any system. After searching for another player, you will have to select the username that matches the platform they are playing on. How to turn off crossplay Crossplay is automatically enabled in Apex Legends, so if you don’t have to do anything right off the bat if you want to play with people on other platforms. Bare in mind, though, that queue times may increase as there’s a smaller pool of players to pick from. If you’d prefer to stick to those using the same platform as you: Head to the ‘Game Menu’ (the cog icon) whilst in the Lobby – Select ‘Settings‘ – Towards the bottom of the list, you’ll see Cross Platform Play – Change the setting to Disabled. – Does Apex Legends have cross-platform progression? While cross-progression is something that is being considered by Respawn, the feature is currently not enabled in Apex Legends. So if you want to play on another console, your items and progress will not carry over. However, Respawn has confirmed that cross-progression will be coming to Apex Legends in 2022, so stay tuned for updates here. Is crossplay enabled for Apex Mobile? Apex Legends Mobile does not have crossplay with consoles or PC. This means that you will only be able to play with those who are also using a mobile device. In their official FAQ for the Mobile version of the iconic battle royale, Respawn write “Apex Legends Mobile is being built specifically for mobile, so it won’t feature cross-play with the console or PC versions of Apex Legends.” Apex Legends Mobile is a totally separate game from regular Apex Legends, meaning cross-play will never be possible in its current state. • Apex Legends crossplay details leaked: Potential release date, clubs – Dexerto

Apex Legends crossplay details leaked: Potential release date, clubs As fans eagerly await the arrival of cross-play in Apex Legends, which was first announced in June, data miners have been busy finding out as much as they can from the game’s code, revealing more information about how it will work. Cross-platform play, allowing players on console, PC, and Nintendo Switch, to all play with and against each other, is a feature that Respawn Entertainment said early on was “important” for Apex Legends. However, the game was not originally developed with cross-play functionality, meaning it required lots of post-launch dev time to ensure it would run smoothly and provide what players expect. Reliable data miner Shrugtal has compiled all of his findings from the game’s code relating to cross-play, to provide a clearer picture of what’s in-store when it finally becomes available. How will cross-play work in Apex Legends? Some very basic code relates to cross-play chatrooms, and other social features. There is also an explanation of how cross-play will work using EADP (Electronic Arts Digital Platform), which will allow players on all platforms to send friend requests for example, rather than using the specific platform’s own system. With this, there will also be a new UI system, replacing the current platform-specific UI, for friend requests, game invites and more, and will be “far more substantial” than the current social tab in Apex Legends. As we covered previously, there is also some code that suggests testing has taken place for cross-progression, but this isn’t confirmed yet. Clubs feature in Apex Legends Clubs is a feature that was previously leaked and then shown, possibly by mistake, in the Season 6 devstream. It’s unclear still exactly what the feature will do, but is expected to help with matchmaking when cross-play arrives. In the latest patch, Shrugtal says that Clubs were updated to support cross-play specifically. Collection event & Cross-play release? Perhaps the most anticipated detail is the actual release date of all these features. Shrugtal, as with other data miners, expect a new collection event to start on September 15, and this could line up with the launch of cross-play too. Although it’s possible that cross-play would be delayed until Season 7, the devs may want to avoid this as it would cause an overload of new content, and thus new bugs, all at once. It’s reasonable to expect that they would want cross-play implemented and out of the way before launching a new season. Read More: When is Apex Legends coming to Steam? – Content creators and community members have also predicted a September 15 release for cross-play, again lining up with the start of the collection event. Can we all take a moment to acknowledge that we get Apex Legends crossplay next month 👀 — staycation (@staycationtg) August 27, 2020 https://twitter.com/tHeNeOn_BeAst/status/1299105581488386050 As always, it must be stressed that this information is based on data mining, and things can always change during development.

  • Apex Legends crossplay bug still ruining Ranked matches for low-level lobbies – Dexerto

Apex Legends crossplay bug still ruining Ranked matches for low-level lobbies Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are reeling at a crossplay bug that is ruining Ranked matches as Predator-skilled PC players are still finding their way to low-level lobbies. By default, Apex Legends crossplay lets PC players matchmake with people on Steam or Origin. Respawn allows them to freely play with the console population if they party up beforehand, which opens up the lobby to more people on computers. But there’s a glitch in Apex that can let high-level players infiltrate lower Ranked lobbies. This results in Predator PC savants cleaning up in a lobby potentially full of console players. Apex fans have reported this kind of glitch in the game for months, and people are waiting for a meaningful fix from Respawn Entertainment. Apex Legends crossplay bug An Apex Legends crossplay bug lets console users party up with PC players then glitch their way into matchmade games filled with people on Xbox and PlayStation. At the moment, unintended instances of the bug have been reported. Meanwhile, there are those who exploit the glitch by continuously recreating it across different games. “Why is a PC diamond player in a console silver lobby?” user ‘Hydroxica’ said. Not only is there a disparity with ranks but also with the crossplay limitations that some people won’t be expecting. It’s led to matches where a Predator can run the table on console in Platinum, Diamond or lower ELOs. While fans continue to complain, it now lies in the hands of Respawn. Respawn major Rank matchmade update The developers already confirmed that they’re making huge rank overhauls to Apex Legends battle royale and Arenas mode. This will effectively change how RP is earned in the BR while introducing Rank splits in Arenas. Players also want Respawn to look into the crossplay bug ahead of Season 11 so people will stop abusing this was to earn easy RP.

  • Apex Legends crossplay beta starts with Aftermarket Collection Event – Dexerto

Apex Legends crossplay beta starts with Aftermarket Collection Event Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends crossplay is officially coming on October 6, as part of the new Aftermarket Collection event. The event also adds a new LTM, and lots of new cosmetic content and challenges. Crossplay was confirmed for a Fall launch earlier in 2020, but this first rollout is technically just a beta, as Respawn tests all the features. Cross-progression isn’t available at this time, but Respawn will talk more about this during the Steam launch later this year. Here’s everything you need to know about the Aftermarket Collection event, starting October 6. Crossplay beta The beta will be used to test functionality before a full crossplay launch. Unless you’ve changed it, you should be good to go! Xbox One also contains a similar setting in the system settings, outside of the game, that must be enabled. More on this setting later. – New LTM: Flashpoint Finally, a brand new LTM! Respawn’s Systems Designer Mark Yampolsky explains how the mode will work: “The centerpiece of this mode are Flash Points, massive zones dotted around towns in Kings Canyon. Learn where these are quickly because healing items do not spawn in this mode – Flashpoints are crucial to helping you stay alive.” Additionally, the ring in Flashpoint is just like how it is in the ‘Always Be Closing’ LTM – so it won’t stop. • Apex Legends crossplay announced for PS4, Xbox One, PC – Dexerto

Apex Legends crossplay announced for PS4, Xbox One, PC Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer 2r7Ix61z]Apex Legends has finally announced what many fans have long been waiting for: crossplay across PS4, Xbox One, and PC. During EA’s Play event, Respawn Entertainment confirmed what has been the source of rampant speculation in the months since Call of Duty: Warzone proved crossplay could be effective for battle royale titles — Apex Legends players will soon be able to compete with their friends across consoles and PC. As of yet, no specific date was mentioned but fans have been told to expect the debut of crossplay sometime “this Fall.” The announcement came alongside a bevy of others, including that the high-mobility BR title will also be coming to the Nintendo Switch—which suggests a high probability that the title could find itself distinguished even further from Warzone by being across four platforms instead of three. Read more: Apex Legends is releasing on Nintendo Switch – While we don’t know full details just yet, this is a hype announcement since it ensures a greater breadth of competition and shorter queue times for people who have trouble finding matches at higher ranks. Other battle royale titles like Fortnite and Warzone have had their fair share of issues with crossplay, with PC players bemoaning aim assist and console players constantly accusing mouse-and-keyboard flicks of proving hacks. At the moment, those concerns aren’t pressing for Respawn Entertainment. The developers seem content with Season 5, which has been reported to be Apex Legends’ most successful season yet, but they’ll have to cross the bridge of competitive integrity across inputs by this Fall. #ApexLegends is coming to Steam this Fall! This is a tremendous play for a continually upsurging title in a crowded space, as broadened access to the game will be pivotal for its ascent among a casual base and as an esport. With a new mode, new access, and new esports ventures like the $500,000 Apex Legends Global Series: Summer Circuit, EA’s free-to-play battle royale should be dropping in hot well into Fall 2020, when its players from different systems will finally be able to match up.

  • Apex Legends getting preselected crosshair colors in upcoming UI update – Dexerto

Apex Legends getting preselected crosshair colors in upcoming UI update Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment are bringing new preset configurations for your crosshair in Apex Legends, and players are already looking forward to how it’s going to improve customization. Senior Experience Designer at Respawn, Justin Masse, notified the community of what the studio is doing to improve visibility with different aspects of the game’s user interface (UI). This included updating the colors on direct hit markers for colorblind modes in a July 19 patch. Unfortunately, that affected some people who used the mode to change their reticle colors already, but Masse said the company is planning to incorporate a more official way of customizing that element. “We’re aware that some players were using these modes to change the reticle color and this update has negatively impacted them,” Masse said on Twitter. “We’re working on a more global fix to allow you to change the color of the reticle to a preset selection of colors.” We’re aware that some players were using these modes to change the reticle color and this update has negatively impacted them. We’re working on a more global fix to allow you to change the color of the reticle to a preset selection of colors. Sit tight, more on that soon.🟥🟨🟦🟩 — Justin Masse (@JustinMasse) July 20, 2021 The dev didn’t reveal much more, since the team is still working on the mode, but the hope is it will have a few different selections like blue, yellow, red and green. Masse also said that the studio is planning on more support for colorblind players in the future. Additionally, changing colors to Apex’s reticles has been a long-requested feature from players who’ve been looking for a more custom experience in the game. With the ability to change the color of your reticle, it’ll give people more options to tinker with how they play Apex. Previous requests to reticles also included things like changing the shape and adding more customizable options but it remains to be seen if that’s on the docket. More information on Apex’s future color options for reticles is expected to come soon, as well as what preselected options players will be able to choose from.

  • Apex Legends leak hints long-awaited cross-progression feature is “on its way” – Dexerto

Apex Legends leak hints long-awaited cross-progression feature is “on its way” Electronic ArtsAn Apex Legends dataminer has found evidence suggesting the cross-progression system could go live sometime soon. For years, Apex faithful have craved cross-progression that would allow them to transfer existing accounts across multiple platforms. Developer Respawn previously confirmed the much-coveted feature had entered development, but it’s yet to see the light of day. Respawn shared an update regarding cross-progression in late 2022, telling fans development was still ongoing. Speaking with GameSpot last month, Senior Design Director Evan Nikolich promised “it’s getting done,” yet wouldn’t offer any release-related specifics. The findings of a dataminer suggest the wait could come to an end sooner rather than later, though. Apex Legends datamine may shed light on cross-progression Dataminers AG240 and KralRindo uncovered a few noteworthy file names after Respawn rolled out the Dress to Kill event. The files in question specifically feature cross-progression tags, which KralRindo says were added for Apex’s UI. According to the leaker, this could be a sign that the eagerly-anticipated feature is finally on the way. Before fans get too excited, it’s worth remembering that Respawn itself has yet to confirm a launch date for cross-progression functionality in Apex Legends. Regardless of what the new file names imply, then, the feature could arrive soon but it may also remain several months out from release. As things currently stand, Apex players can transfer their data between Steam and Origin accounts. No such system exists for console users, though, with Lead Producer Drew McCoy once claiming the feat would never be possible. The studio eventually changed its tune to the delight of many a fan. But, for now, players still await cross-progression’s arrival.

  • Apex Legends criticized for selling nearly identical weapon skins – Dexerto

Apex Legends criticized for selling nearly identical weapon skins The Apex Legends store has always drawn criticism in the past, and it’s once again under fire from fans over very two similar-looking weapon skins, both for sale at a premium. Apex Legends isn’t alone in the battle royale market with its in-game store as Fortnite makes a killing with its daily updated shop. As free-to-play games, they rely solely on in-game revenue. However, Respawn’s store has been criticized for its high prices, with ‘legendary’ items costing the equivalent of $18, and occasionally underwhelming skins, although they have definitely improved in this area. One frequrent addition to the shop are skin ‘recolors’, which take an already existing skin and give it a new colorway. While not problemetic on their own, fans have pointed out that some of the colors are very similar. Reddit user bricious posted a meme that shows how similar ‘The Life Saver’ and ‘Rescue Effort’ skins for the Kraber sniper are – practically just the same design on the weapon with very slight color tweaks. The picture showing just minor differences leaves no real reason to get the next one, which is only available by dropping 1,800 coins on The Life Saver. For the Rescue Effort skin, players will first have to buy ‘The Snowpiercer’ for 1,800 coins, and then use 6,500 Legend tokens, which is the free in-game currency. Some users have suggested that the recolorings could be determined by some sort of random algorithm, rather than a human artistic choice. Of course, this isn’t the first time Apex Legends has come under fire for the pricing of their weapon skins, with the most famous criticism being during the Iron Crown event. Respawn later admitted that they had “missed the mark” with the pricing and MTX system. During the Fight or Fright Halloween event, EA decided to throw players a bone by offering a “free” Lifeline heirloom, but things aren’t quite what they seem as you’ll need to collect all of the event cosmetics first and fans are not happy about this either. For all the things Apex Legends gets right, it’s clear there’s still work that needs to be done in the shop. Luckily, the gameplay is top-notch and players are still able to enjoy the game without spending a dime.

  • Apex Legends criticized for bundle prices compared to Warzone – Dexerto

Apex Legends criticized for bundle prices compared to Warzone Respawn Entertainment / ActivisionRespawn Entertainment are facing fresh criticism for their pricing of cosmetic bundles in Apex Legends, especially when compared to Call of Duty’s new battle royale Warzone, and Modern Warfare as a whole. Cosmetic bundles have become a staple of modern games, especially with the rise of free-to-play titles such as Apex Legends and competitor Fortnite using cosmetics to help monetization efforts. With Fortnite especially, this saw some huge collaborations with the likes of Marvel and Netflix for in-game cosmetics, but it seems players aren’t particularly impressed with the price of cosmetic bundles in Apex Legends now. The issue was brought up by OriginalFreud, and their complaint quickly gained traction among the Apex community, who seem less than impressed with Respawn’s “greed.” The post said that “this needs to be addressed” followed by a side-by-side comparison between Wraith’s ‘Vengeance Seeker’ skin and the entire Nikto Operator bundle in Modern Warfare and Warzone – both of which total around $20. Freud’s final statement is that they “never thought [they] would see the day Respawn became greedier than Activision,” clearly intended to be a damning indictment on both companies. The responses to OriginalFreud were mixed, though many seemed to be in support of what they were saying, upset by how much more Call of Duty players seem to get than Apex Legends. Many agreed, saying that the cosmetics simply aren’t worth the money, while comparisons were even drawn to popular MOBA titles League of Legends and Dota 2, which seem to offer quite a lot more with their cosmetics. On the other hand, a number of players mentioned the fact that Modern Warfare is also a $60 game, so players have paid far more than Apex Legends players just for the game alone, so the difference is somewhat justified. There is a clear difference between the contents of bundles in Apex Legends and Modern Warfare/Warzone, but as pointed out, this could boil down to the fact that Apex Legends is a free game, but CoD fans need $60 just to download the game. Whether Respawn responds to this feedback, or look to figure out a new pricing system for cosmetics, remains to be seen, but the post received a lot of support and traction, so it may be something they have to consider.

  • Apex Legends crashes: Respawn respond to freezing and crashing since Fight Night update – Dexerto

Apex Legends crashes: Respawn respond to freezing and crashing since Fight Night update Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment have been troubleshooting mass connection problems in Apex Legends as more players are reporting crashing and lagging throughout the battle royale, leading the studio to respond to the outages. The PC community has been reeling since the Fight Night update on January 5 resulted in players experiencing multiple problems when trying to get into the Arena, and it’s since started to affect a wider net of users. But the Respawn developers notified their players that they were indeed on the case soon after getting flooded with mentions and direct messages about the need to fix the login problems and overall state of the game. In its lifespan, Apex Legends has been hit with huge outages or downtimes, though the developers have managed to move in fast every time to keep the lights on in the Arena. Hey Legends, we’re aware that some of you are experiencing crashes in @PlayApex and are actively looking into a fix. Stay tuned for more info as we have it. — Respawn (@Respawn) January 12, 2021 This time, fans are hoping they can uphold that expediency with the latest problems, as Respawn refocus efforts to rectify the latest episode plaguing their battle royale. “Hey Legends, we’re aware that some of you are experiencing crashes in Apex Legends and are actively looking into a fix. Stay tuned for more info as we have it,” Respawn said as they explored what was going on in the backend. The problem has reached its height for a lot of people. Clips show people performing a finisher on one opponent just to exit the animation and being greeted by another person already shredding their shields. “My ping is like 30-40 and this happens to me all of the time,” one user said, explaining how their games can typically end. “‘Whew I’m behind cover.’ Downed.” This was a recurring theme across the PC community as players on either Steam and Origin reported similar experiences or flat out crashing or stalling out in the middle of a match. The following weeks after a major update like the Fight Night event are jam-packed with players logging back on to the battle royale to see all of the new features and content drop. As the problems persist, Respawn will want to get everything back on track so the rest of the mid-season event update can go without a hitch, so stay tuned to Dexerto and @TitanfallBlog for the latest updates.

  • Apex Legends crashes after Season 12 launch showing -9999 coins and Legends unplayable – Dexerto

Apex Legends crashes after Season 12 launch showing -9999 coins and Legends unplayable Respawn EntertainmentA widespread bug is affecting lots of players on the second day of Apex Legends Season 12, preventing post-launch Legends from being used, and displaying -9999 Apex coins. Other players are unable to connect to the servers at all. The past couple of Apex season launches have been free of the server errors that plagued earlier seasons, which would see the game made unplayable globally for a short time after the new update went live. Season 12 started well on day one, with no major errors, but on February 9, a widespread server error appears to be affecting lots of players. At around 9AM ET, players were kicked from games, and if they were able to reconnect to the server, where met with a glitch showing that they had -9999 Apex coins and crafting metals. Players were then surprised to discover that all but the base six Legends were locked. Read More: Apex Legends Season 12 patch notes – The bug has so far lasted for around 50 minutes, but it should just be a temporary crash, either until servers get back on track, or Respawn implements a fix. We’re aware of issues players are seeing with their in-game currency balances, Legend unlocks, and cosmetics. We’re currently working to deploy a fix and you may see your store or inventory display inaccurately during this time, which should return to normal after the fix. — Respawn (@Respawn) February 9, 2022 At around the same time that the bug took place, Apex had reached a new peak player count on Steam, of just under 400,000 players. It’s possible that the surge in players across platforms was responsible for the errors. Read More: Apex Legends Season 12 secretly nerfs SMGs – Respawn has confirmed they are investigating the errors now, and some players are already reporting that things are getting back to normal. If you are still encountering the error, we will update this article with any progress or news from the developer or EA.

  • Apex Legends couple who met in-game thanks devs – Dexerto

Apex Legends couple who met in-game thanks devs Furdean / Electronic ArtsTwo Caustic mains met while playing Apex Legends and have since started dating; the couple thanked the development team via Reddit. Video games have connected people to loved ones and strangers for the last several decades. The advent of online gaming made meeting new people even easier. Thus, countless lifelong friendships and romantic relationships have developed out of chance meetings in random games and multiplayer lobbies. As online gaming continues to increase in popularity around the world, it should come as no surprise that even more love stories are being cultivated in the likes of Apex Legends. Apex Legends couple shares charming love story online Apex Legends player Furdean recently took to Reddit to share a photo of himself and a fellow Caustic main. These aren’t just two Apex friends who happened to meet in real life, however. According to Furdean, though he’s Indian and his partner’s from Italy, she traveled a whopping 6,165 kilometers (or 3,800-plus miles) to visit him. The Reddit user ended the wholesome post by thanking the development team at Respawn Entertainment for creating the game that introduced him to his special someone. The post is unsurprisingly popular on the official Apex Legends subreddit, having garnered an impressive 13,600 upvotes as of writing. Other users in the Reddit thread said they met their partners through Apex Legends, too. Meanwhile, AnyK1ndOfGuy told a fellow player their girlfriend introduced them to the battle royale title. The vast majority of the thread is surprisingly wholesome. But Sp4c3w0nd3r’s response to this story about the Apex Legends couple said it best – “This is a pure example of what games can do.”

  • Apex Legends could take character idea from Rainbow Six to counter scan meta – Dexerto

Apex Legends could take character idea from Rainbow Six to counter scan meta Respawn Entertainment/Ubisoft MontrealAn Apex Legends player has suggested that Respawn should take inspiration from Rainbow Six Siege character Mute, and create Legend that counters scan abilities. Over the last few seasons, every Legend released into Apex has had a scan or x-ray ability interweaved in their kit. Whether it’s Seer’s heartbeat sensor, Ash’s Marked For Death, or now Maggie’s Warlord’s Ire x-ray in Season 12, there’s definitely a trend developing with each new character. While some of the community likes these abilities, a vocal portion of them don’t and are not happy that the devs are continuing to push players into a scan meta. So, to counter all of these Legends, one Reddit user has suggested that Respawn take inspiration from Rainbow Six, and add a character like Mute to the game to counter scans. Apex players want a Legend that counters the scan meta On February 24, a thread was posted to the Apex Legends subreddit asking the community how they would create a Legend to counter the scan meta. While a lot of players suggested buffing already existing characters like Crypto and Bangalore, others advised Respawn to take inspiration from other FPS titles. One of these popular ideas was raised by sicko-mod who thinks the devs should add a Legend similar to Mute from Rainbow Six. Their kit would revolve around disrupting enemy radars by placing down a jammer that scrambles HUDs and makes nearby allies immune to scans. “A character like mute from rainbow 6 where he places a jammer on the ground that scrambles nearby enemy HUD’s and standing around it makes you immune to scans”. Although this concept is getting a lot of praise from the Apex community, it seems unlikely that Respawn would add a Legend to directly counter scans and x-rays. This would make a specific character extremely powerful against half of the roster and it also goes against Respawn’s recent trend of giving every new Legend a scan ability. Either way, we’ll have to wait and see if the new face in Season 13 follows the scan trend, or if the devs decide it’s time to go in another direction.

  • Apex Legends could slow down new Legend releases in future seasons – Dexerto

Apex Legends could slow down new Legend releases in future seasons Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends is now over three years old, and with a new Season roughly every three months, that means we now have 12 more Legends than we started with. But, Respawn is aware of the threat of ‘too many’ Legends, and is considering what this means for the future. Some games add new playable characters seemingly endlessly – League of Legends, Smash, or Fortnite spring to mind. But, for Apex, it’s not as simple as just continuing to add a brand new character every time a new Season rolls around – at least not forever. Each new character in Apex must fit into the Battle Royale meta: useful, but not overpowered, unique, but within a class, and can’t overlap too much with any other character. Lore is another challenge on top of gameplay – Apex is a multiplayer game that prides itself on telling stories, with detailed histories accompanying each character, and interwoven storylines between them. That’s why, when we got the opportunity to speak to the Respawn developers about the state of Apex, we posed the question: Is there a point where there could be too many Legends? Will new character launches slow down in the future? Respawn “aware” of Legend saturation Right now, the plan remains to release a new Legend each season, but Senior Character Designer Devan McGuire said the team is aware this might not always be the case. McGuire said that Apex’s primary focus is about gunplay, more than Legend abilities, but as more and more Legends are added, it becomes harder to make them “unique, without being overpowered, or too niche.” McGuire continued that there may well be a “breaking point,” where a new Legend every season is simply not feasible or healthy for the game. “Whether or not that pattern continues is an ongoing discussion, and it might not be changed, but we don’t want to saturate the pool [of Legends].” One thing is for sure, McGuire confirmed: they certainly won’t be speeding it up and adding two Legends in a season any time soon. The challenge of unique Legend design It’s not just the abilities and lore that can be a challenge for adding new characters. While concept artists can come up with endless ideas for Legends, Lead Concept Artist Cristina Ferez explained that there is one unique challenge about creating ideas for Apex specifically. In-game, it is vital that players can identify what Legend they are coming up against in an instant, so that they know what abilities they might have to face. Ferez explained that this means each character’s ‘silhouette’ must be totally different from each other, and not risk confusion in the heat of fast-paced combat. Right now, there are no changes set in stone, so expect to see another new Legend in Season 14. But, Respawn are definitely aware that this pattern might not be sustainable forever, so it will be interesting to see how they tackle this particular conundrum. The new Legend, Newcastle, will release on May 10 for Season 13, along with the Storm Point update, and a new Ranked Reloaded.

  • Apex Legends could make new Airdop system permanent in Season 8 – Dexerto

Apex Legends could make new Airdop system permanent in Season 8 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends is known for ‘testing’ new features disguised as LTM’s, and the latest test, Airdrop Escalation, seems primed for a major change to supply drops in future seasons. [jwplayer VEi3mnK7] Update, January 12: Since we put this idea forward, a Respawn developer has said that they have no plans currently to make the supply drops with fully-kitted weapons a permanent feature. The most obvious example of Respawn testing the waters with a new feature in an LTM is Evo Shields. First only available in the Deja Loot and Battle Armor LTMs, and then in Armed and Dangerous Evolved, Respawn admitted it was considering them as a permanent change all along. So, it was only a matter of time. In March 2020, Evo Sheilds were made a permanent addition, and then replaced regular all shields in the game, with exception of gold, in Season 6. Generally, it’s been a well-liked change, as Evo Shields reward engagements over looting. In this spirit then, could Respawn really be considering doing away with the traditional supply drops? What is Airdrop Escalation? For the Fight Night Collection event, Respawn technically didn’t add a new LTM to Apex Legends. Instead, they just ‘took over’ the regular mode with Airdrop Escalation. In this variant, supply drops now drop fully-kitted weapons, with all their attachment slots filled out. They land at the same speed as Lifeline’s care packages too. “Immediately after you leave the Jumpship, you’ll find a cluster of four supply drops across the map. During each round, more will drop,” Respawn explain. The supply drops include weapons of increasing rarity depending on the round; round 1 drops level 2 kitted weapons, while round 4 drops red armor and crate weapons. This system has received a mixed reception. While some players argue it reduces the emphasis on looting, others don’t like the attachment presets that Respawn have made (anyone tired of getting holo sights on everything?) We asked players on Twitter for their thoughts, and it was a mixed bag: Way too frequent. Wouldn’t be fun as a permanent thing literally takes the point of looting out the game — Ony𝕏 (@Onyxanx) January 7, 2021 https://twitter.com/RNBobb/status/1347198576099815429 Will fully-kitted weapons be permanent in Season 8? Respawn have now said that they won’t be making them a permanent feature. But that doesn’t mean that it’s not a test for something else. It’s unlikely they would create this system purely for a two-week event with no possibility of either making it permanent or bringing it back frequently. Leakers have found a TDM-style gamemode in the files, and it appears that preset loadouts will be a feature here. Of course, with the feedback from the LTM version, they might be able to make improvements – such as the attachment choices. There also has to be consideration of competitive play, and how this system might affect it. Respawn may have been inspired by the success of Call of Duty: Warzone’s loadout system, which allows players to pre-make their weapons and attachment setups, and then call it in as a supply drop of their own. While we don’t expect Apex to allow players to create their own perfect loadouts, it’s certainly a similar idea with Airdrop Escalation. Season 8 is due to begin in early February, right around the anniversary of Apex Legends’ release in 2019. As with all new seasons, we expect to see some shake-ups to the gameplay, but just how drastic remains to be seen.

  • Apex Legends Evo Shields could become starting armor in Season 6 – Dexerto

Apex Legends Evo Shields could become starting armor in Season 6 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends may be set for an armor overhaul, with dynamic Evo Shields potentially in line to become starting equipment heading into the battle royale’s sixth season, according to a cheeky tease from a Respawn developer this week. Evo Shields have been widely regarded as a fairly strong addition to the Apex Legends battle royale metagame since their debut back in the System Override event in March 2020. The Apex Legends shields were added to promote fighting; players earn level-ups for their armor sets with every elimination. Evo Shields improve from a single armor bar to two, then four, then five, depending on your kills. After a brief time in the “Deja Loot” limited-time mode, the power-up shields were added to a raft of Apex Legends’ playlists. This included the battle royale’s ranked modes on Kings Canyon and World’s Edge. Evo Shields may be going one step further, and becoming one of Apex’s core armor items that players drop with in every match from Season 6 onward, according to a recent tease on Reddit from Respawn developer Daniel Klein. Apex Legends could make Evo Shields starting armor The upgradeable armor plates have been a fan-favorite since their Apex Legends debut. In a recent discussion on the new ‘Always Be Closing Evolved’ LTM, one Apex fan even suggested they should be “mandatory,” and dubbed them the “best addition to the game by far.” Enter Apex Legends developer Daniel Klein, who has been working for the battle royale since mid-Season 3. He responded that he thought Evo Shields becoming “mandatory” would be a fairly “good idea” heading into Season 6. There are a few kinks Klein said Respawn would want to work out before making a permanent armor, however. Potential issues with teased Evo Shield changes One issue is the chance a player drops far away from where the majority of the lobby has landed. That means there’s no chance to level-up your starting Evo Shield, which is “100%” a problem, said Klein. “I’d love to attack [read, solve] ‘I wanna fight another squad but I can’t find anyone’ in the game,” he continued, “but even outside of that we’d find a way to fix the ‘I never met anyone so my Evo sucks’ problem if we were to ship Evo only.” The other problem is handing players starting armor right off the bat reduces the “opening scramble” battle royale players have come to know and love. Respawn would aim to “find a way to maintain that,” Klein promised. When could Evo Shields become starting armor? The Apex Legends dev didn’t mention any kind of potential date for this to begin, though that does make sense; he was just responding to the suggestion, after all. Respawn may have it planned, but they’ve announced nothing just yet. If the armor change does go through, it wouldn’t be until the start of Season 6. That is likely to arrive on Tuesday, August 18, so nothing would be officially swapped over before then. If you can’t wait to get your fill of Evo Shields, though, they’ll also be back as starting items in the “Always Be Closing Evolved” LTM. That upgraded limited-time mode is expected to begin on August 11 as part of the last Season 5 event.

  • Apex Legends could be getting ground emotes according to leaks – Dexerto

Apex Legends could be getting ground emotes according to leaks Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players could soon be getting brand new emotes they can actually use on the ground during a match, if new leaks are to be believed. Season 6 of Apex has already brought players a bunch of new content and a new legend, Rampart. And now it seems as if we’ll also be getting actual, on the ground emotes soon as well, according to some new leaks. We’ve had skydive emotes in Apex since Summer 2019, but nothing in the way of ones that can actually be used once you drop into a match like you can do in games like Fortnite or Overwatch – until now, that is. In a screenshot from one of the recent dev streams, shared by Apex leaker shrugtal, we can clearly see a never before seen icon next to the one for the skydive emote. Now, this new screenshot on its own doesn’t really confirm anything at all. The mysterious icon could be for a new kind of emote, but there’s no way of knowing from just the image itself. However, that’s not all the evidence we have. Another Apex leaker named Biast12 also shared datamined video apparently showing a new Mirage emote that certainly seems like it could only take place on the ground, during a match. It consists of the Legend giving one of his copies a high-five, with the illusion disappearing as soon as it makes contact. The video shows it freezing in the air, but this just means that he’s disappeared, according to Biast12. just gonna point out that it’s called “”stand_emote”” could this mean that we will get ground emotes at some point soon👀 — Biast12 (@Biast12) August 23, 2020 The leaker also pointed out that the file name of Mirage’s high-five was called “stand_emote”, which definitely makes it seem like we will be getting ground emotes in Apex Legends hopefully sooner rather than later. It might not be as game-changing as a new Legend or weapon, but the new feature would do a lot to breathe more life into the game’s characters and the world overall. What do you want you favorite legend’s new on the ground emote to be? Let us know on Twitter @TitanfallBlog.

  • Apex Legends could be adding Season 0 LTM with OG Kings Canyon map – Dexerto

Apex Legends could be adding Season 0 LTM with OG Kings Canyon map Respawn EntertainmentSecurity Analyst at Respawn, Conor ‘Hideouts’ Ford, has hinted that there could be an Apex Legends Season 0 OG Kings Canyon LTM in the future. Nothing gets the Apex Legends community more excited than new content and with Season 13 on the horizon, the hype is starting to build. With leaks and teasers pointing towards the arrival of Newcastle and even a set of new weapons, it’s safe to say the playerbase is waiting on the edge of their seat for early May. Despite this, sometimes it’s nice to take a trip back in time and revisit the good old days. Although the devs have done this in the past with the return of the OG Kings Canyon and Worlds Edge maps for the Genesis Collection event, they’ve never brought back the true day one experience. Apex Legends Season 0 Kings Canyon LTM teased On April 11, Security Analyst at Respawn, Conor ‘Hideouts’ Ford, took to Twitter and started a poll for the community that asked whether they’d like to see an OG Apex LTM that included base characters and weapons from day one or launch. The LTM would take place on the original Kings Canyon map and include the base stats of the weapons that were around in Season 0. With the balancing being completely different back then, it’d be interesting to see how broken certain Legends and guns were in comparison to today. Overall, the poll received a total of over 26,000 votes, so it’s safe to say the idea got the community excited. I’m curious, would anyone ever like to see an OG Apex LTM from @PlayApex ? Base Characters and day one weapons only on OG King’s Canyon? Day one weapon stats as well. — Conor Ford / Hideouts (@RSPN_Hideouts) April 11, 2022 While Hideouts isn’t a developer at Respawn, it’s possible this could be a teaser for a future LTM or at least a way to test the waters for a potential idea. There’s so much nostalgia for the old days of Apex, especially when it comes to the locations like Thunderdome, Skull Town, and Cascades. However, a chance to truly experience day one gameplay would be a first for a lot of Apex players and would definitely generate a lot of hype if it arrived with a collection event.

  • Apex Legends cosplayer takes Horizon outfit to new heights – Dexerto

Apex Legends cosplayer takes Horizon outfit to new heights IG: @itlookslikekilled/Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends cosplayer has stunned fans of Respawn’s BR by bringing Horizon to life, ensuring the Season 7 legend has never looked so real. The Apex Legends community has an incredible connection with Respawn’s source material, regularly sharing artwork, videos and cosplays inspired by the world and characters. Horizon cosplays are obviously still fairly new, given that the Scottish legend was only added with Season 7. The Gravitational Manipulator has brought new levels of verticality to the Olympus map, thanks to her Gravity Lift, Spacewalk and Black Hole abilities. As far as aesthetics go, Horizon is known for her spacesuit theme. Her iconic ginger hair protrudes out the top of her suit. It’s an awesome look, simultaneously cool and terrifying to see coming towards you in-game. One cosplayer, though, took on the challenge and, with some incredible skill, came out looking exactly like the legend herself. Sosenka (@itlookslikekilled on Instagram) shared her Horizon look on December 4, stunning her followers and the Apex community alike. She has previously shared a Loba cosplay, but many agreed that her Horizon look was even more impressive. The white suit is complete to perfection, with the goggles and arm bands even down to a tee. At the time of writing, it sits at just shy of 9,000 likes. View this post on Instagram The look was so good that it even drew the attention of Elle Newlands – the voice actress behind the Season 7 legend. She said: “I stan, you stan, we all stan for the #Horizon Cosplay Queen!” I stan, you stan, we all stan for the #horizon Cosplay Queen! 😯👏👏👏👏👏👏👏https://t.co/JWxP1BkVcN#ApexLegends #HorizonApexLegends pic.twitter.com/5POMCEAgL0— Elle Newlands (@ElleNewlands) December 4, 2020 Horizon, despite being fairly new to the game, has taken well to the Olympus map, currently sitting in our A-Tier in our legend rankings. Her pick rates are fairly high, and abilities incredibly useful. Cosplays as good as this only make us want to use her more.

  • Apex Legends cosplayer steals fans’ hearts with flawless Loba outfit – Dexerto

Apex Legends cosplayer steals fans’ hearts with flawless Loba outfit itlookslikekilled/RespawnOne Apex Legends fan has created what could be one of the best cosplays for Loba that we’ve seen since the High society Thief was first released at the start of Season 4. The quick-handed Legend came to Apex in May of 2020, and since then she’s become a favorite for her ability to pluck the most high-value loot off the map, even if her Burglar’s Best Friend ability is touch and go at the best of times. We’ve definitely seen some great costumes of her created since release, but very few come close to the near-flawless one recently shared by Polish cosplayer ‘Sosenka.’ When you look at the side by side shot of the artist next to her cosplay, it’s almost as if it’s two different people entirely, with Loba herself brought into the real world. View this post on Instagram In & Out of cosplay: me as Loba from Apex Legends! Leave ♥️ if you like this transformation! If you want to see this cosplay in motion, go to the link in my bio! ? /Zapraszam wszystkich do obejrzenia filmu od ZagrajnikTV (link w bio), który świetnie omawia temat gry Apex Legends, mam w nim swój mały epizod! Wesprzyjcie go miłym komentarzem/łapką w górę! 😀 #sponsoredbyEA @playapex #apexlegends #loba #cosplay #cosplayer #polishgirl #sosenka From the hair to the makeup, Sosenka’s Loba looks just about as detailed as you could possibly get, all the way down to the wolf tattoo perfectly placed just beneath her neck. Accessory-wise this one comes loaded with all of the bells and whistles. Her wolf staff is present in all of its glory, though whether or not it’s capable of flight or stealing loot from the surrounding area is unknown. As if all of that wasn’t enough, Sosenka even threw in some yellow colored contacts to give her the Legend’s yellow canine eyes. A bit creepy, but also the cherry on top when it comes to this deeply detailed cosplay. View this post on Instagram Here’s my take on Loba from Apex Legends! Thank you EA for giving me the chance to make this amazing character! There was a lot of sewing work, some sculpting and resin casts… Leave your reaction if you like this work! > The Polish artist doesn’t just limit herself to Apex Legends though – far from it in fact. One look at her Instagram and you’ll see everything from Team Rocket’s Jesse to an incredible Gandalf that actually makes her look like an old man. Despite all the great examples, we do have to admit that Loba is one of Sosenka’s best creations yet (even if we are a little biased on the matter). That being said though, we can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

  • Apex Legends cosplayer phases in amazing Wraith look – Dexerto

Apex Legends cosplayer phases in amazing Wraith look Respawn Entertainment/fumika_owoA hardcore Apex Legends fan did an astounding job of recreating Wraith’s Void Specialist skin IRL with a cosplay worthy of the Interdimensional Skirmisher herself. Apex Legends is one of the most popular battle royale games out there, and Wraith has been the go-to character for frag-loving players since the title’s release. She’s also one of fans’ favorite legends to cosplay, and fumika_owo did a fantastic job of bringing Wraith into the real world. Void Specialist was one of the original skins to come out with the hero at launch, and fumika nailed every last detail down to her pink rebreather mask. The pink accents on the black base are what make the skin unique, and she seemed to be able to pin them down exactly. As an added touch, fukima comes equipped with a Wingman revolver, the weapon of choice for all those sweaty Wraith mains out there. Finally, some glowing green eyes perfectly framed by the character’s trademark hairstyle bring the costume together, and make it seem like the skirmisher is looking right back at us. The amount of detail that went into the whole cosplay, like the wires, tubes, and spikes are all accurate to the in-game model, unfortunately we don’t know how long it took fumika to complete the project. Wraith is so far the only Apex character fumika has cosplayed, according to her Instagram, but based on how good it looks, we wouldn’t be surprised to see more. In another shot, she even shows off her own version of Wraith’s heirloom weapon, which was probably much easier (and cheaper) to obtain than the in-game version. The cosplayer obviously enjoys her Apex Legends, but is a die-hard Overwatch fan as well, dressing up as Mercy and D.Va, to name a few. Apex itself is well into its second year, and players are currently gearing up for Season 5, which will hopefully come with some great Wraith skins to produce more cosplays like this one.

  • Apex Legends cosplayer has already created perfect Loba outfit – Dexerto

Apex Legends cosplayer has already created perfect Loba outfit Instagram: Mary.HackkLoba isn’t even available to play in Apex Legends yet, set to arrive on May 12, but cosplayers have wasted no time in creating her already iconic look in real life, with the best so far including a full costume remake. As well as creating unique gameplay opportunities, the various legends in Apex are perfect for cosplayers, designers and make-up artists to run wild with. Some of the most popular include Wraith and Wattson, which cosplayers have spent time crafting almost identical looks for out of game. With Loba now joining the roster for Season 5, it was only a matter of time before cosplayers turned to her next. Loba Andrade is known as a “translocating thief”, taking after her father’s trade of high-level theft. Her father was actually murdered by another of the Apex cast, Revenant, who she has sworn revenge on. Loba’s standard outfit is already so exotic it could have passed for a legendary skin, and cosplayer Mary Hackk has been quick to recreate it, complete with her knee-high boots and unique jacket. With Loba, the make-up is also crucial, with her eyes featuring a red smear, reminiscent of the blood she wiped on her face while sitting with her father after his murder. https://www.instagram.com/p/B_9H6CUpQ9a/ The cosplayer is a make-up artist, so getting the make-up right was possibly the easiest part for her. But the boots and jacket likely required much more time to put together, to replicate the intricate designs. Read More: How quests work in Apex Legends Season 5 – Considering Loba isn’t even available yet, and we haven’t seen any of her legendary or epic skins, there will probably be lots more cosplays in the future with unique twists on her character. For now though, the bar has been set, and Apex fans who double as cosplayers will be all over the new translocating thief, while players are hunting down Revenant in-game.

Putting a comfortable spin on the figure, sarenji has taken Crypto’s distinct appearance and translated it to a fitting female design. View this post on Instagram Crypto is one with technology and this cosplayer has encapsulated just that with some handy face paint. From cyberpunk-esque markings around her left eye to the more prominent metallic look that casts down from her chin to her torso. The color scheme of his default skin is carried across the costume itself. With sarenji wearing a vibrant white and green overcoat that’s been customized just for this particular design. Blue and black straps can be seen near her wrists, showcasing some of the many gadgets Crypto drops into battle with. Not just to interface with the environment around him, but to get a jump on opposing Legends. Beyond the costume itself, an accompanying pistol adds some realism to this Striking Crypto design. The cosplayer poses with a Wingman in hand. One that’s all too authentic thanks to some accurate inscriptions along the side. View this post on Instagram From Loba to Octane, sarenji is no stranger to taking on a variety of Apex Legends cosplays. You can check them all out through her official Instagram account. Next on the agenda appears to be both Wattson and Mirage. So be sure to keep your eyes peeled for even more Apex cosplays soon.

Apex Legends cosplayer goes viral with perfect Loba outfit for Halloween Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends cosplayer, who goes by “lolidkimjustakitten,” has gone viral after sharing her incredible transformation into Loba for Halloween, receiving plenty of praise from fans of the popular character. [jwplayer iH0jrCdt] Horizon is next to be added to the Apex Legends cast with the release of the Season 7 update, and there will soon be 15 unique characters that players can choose between in-game. Each of the battle royale Legends have their own abilities and style, which often leads to many artists or cosplayers getting inspired and even recreating their favorite characters, particularly during the Halloween season. Although many Apex fans had dressed up as Legends throughout October 31, there was one cosplayer who went viral for bringing the Translocating Thief, Loba Andrade, to life. Loba has quickly become a fan-favorite character since she was introduced by Respawn in Season 5 and, as a result, has also been quite a popular Legend to cosplay. However, one of the latest attempts at recreating the Legend, which was posted by lolidkimjustakitten, is already among some of best Loba cosplays so far, after taking the battle royale’s subreddit by storm when she shared her Halloween costume. The cosplayer received well over 28,000 upvotes in the 24 hours after sharing her efforts online, with hundreds of comments praising her incredible attention to detail. Many Apex fans were impressed by all of the small details that the cosplayer had added to Loba’s outfit, such as the gloves and the knee-high boots to compliment the unique style that the character is known for. She completed the Thief’s look with the signature eye makeup and hairstyle that Apex fans have also become familiar with, bringing Loba to life in spectacular fashion. While Loba has not had too much shine in the latest Season compared to Legends like Wraith and Pathfinder, this incredible cosplay might inspire some Apex fans to give the character another shot for Season 7.

  • Apex Legends cosplayer enters the void as Wraith’s Void Prowler skin – Dexerto

Apex Legends cosplayer enters the void as Wraith’s Void Prowler skin IG: _Sarenji_ / Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends cosplayer Sarenji is back with another incredible look inspired by the game, this time bringing Interdimensional Skirmisher Wraith to life in her Void Prowler skin. The community for Apex Legends has consistently proved itself as one of the most engaged and passionate, regularly sharing incredible artwork, cosplays and skin concepts for their favorite in-game characters. That enthusiasm, paired with Apex’s creatively designed skins, means we’re treated to some truly mind-blowing cosplays. Popular cosplayer Sarenji has shared her latest creation: a masterfully designed Void Prowler Wraith look. Sarenji is well known for her Apex cosplays specifically, amassing a following of over 18,000 people on Instagram. Her Void Prowler look explains her popularity – an accurate and awesome recreation of one of Wraith’s coolest skins. The silver, grey and yellow overalls are there, alongside black and yellow gloves. The eared, yellow hood is also accurate but Sarenji’s secret weapon is the mask. She later confirmed it was 3D printed, bringing the dark sphinx-like element of the skin to life perfectly. There’s even a nod to Wraith’s heirloom – yet another awesome 3D model of an in-game item. She shared a few more angles on her Instagram, including one in which her eyes were all-white – a definite tribute to Wraith’s signature look. View this post on Instagram The Void Prowler is an ultra-popular Wraith skin, even if there have been some reservations from players about its price. It’s the latest in a long-line of top-tier outfits from the German cosplayer who has, in the past, shown off some female recreations of male Legends like Mirage. Whether this tops everything she’s done in the past is up for debate, but we’re certainly huge fans of this excellent look.

  • Apex Legends cosplayer electrifies as cheerful, hooded Wattson – Dexerto

Apex Legends cosplayer electrifies as cheerful, hooded Wattson Twitter, @ra_cat_ / Respawn EntertainmentMonths after Wattson joined the cast of Apex Legends, cosplayer ‘ra_cat_’ has brought the “Static Defender” to life with an electric, vibrant recreation of her outfit and look. From her bright winter clothing to her cheery disposition, Natalie ‘Wattson’ Paquette emerged as a fan-favorite character in Apex Legends practically as soon as she debuted on July 2, 2020. Dressed in orange and blue like a fan of the New York Knicks, Wattson’s winter clothing is as eye-catching as her blonde hair and electrified fences. Blue eyes, blonde hair, a Lichtenberg-figure scar and a unique fashion sense, Apex’s 22-year-old defense legend is a cosplayer’s dream. And, for ra_cat, that dream has turned into reality, as they commissioned someone to put together Wattson’s coat while getting the rest of the look together. Dubbing this Wattson recreation their “top cosplay of the year” on Reddit, ra_cat (who goes by ‘iona_107’ on Reddit) set the Apex Legends sub ablaze with the look. With thousands of upvotes and hundreds of likes, it’s clear that this electrifying cosplay has…sparked some enthusiasm. Filled with compliments and silly puns, the comment section for this Wattson cosplay is loaded with positive energy. Perhaps remarking that this one is even better than some of ra_cat’s earlier looks, ‘vyciok’ commented with a supportive pun: “You’re current-ly at the top of your game!” They were joined in loving, cheesy energy by ‘Seirer,’ who felt compelled to toss in their own message of appreciation: “This is so well done it…hertz.” As for the top comment on the entire post, it was one from ‘QuicklyThisWay’ that praised the cosplay, took into account ra_cat’s portfolio and, of course, topped it off with another goofy pun: “That’s the best Wattson I’ve seen yet! After seeing your Wraith, I’m amped to see what you come up with next!” https://twitter.com/ra_cat_/status/1345759823078457344 On Twitter, ra_cat also shared a picture with the coat’s hood pulled over, displaying just how functional the attire is. The best cosplays always seem to look authentic and usable, making this one a clear standout. • New Apex Legends weapon possibly teased by official cosplay – Dexerto

New Apex Legends weapon possibly teased by official cosplay Respawn EntertainmentOfficial Apex Legends cosplayers at TwitchCon 2019 may have hinted at an upcoming weapon, possibly releasing in Season 3. The hype for Apex Legends third season is continuing to ramp up after they released their new gameplay trailer which revealed the addition of the long-awaited Legend, Crypto as well as a new map which will be available to players on October 1. However, the Season 3 trailer may not be the only way Respawn have decided to drop hints about the upcoming changes, as one of their official cosplayers at TwitchCon was seen with a new weapon that could also make an appearance in-game. As part of their Season 3 promotion, Respawn Entertainment organized for a group of cosplayers to represent some of the Apex Legends characters at TwitchCon, including an incredibly accurate portrayal of Crypto. Alongside Crypto were some of the fan-favorite characters such as BloodHound, Caustic and Lifeline who could be found roaming the floor at TwitchCon ahead of the Apex Legends Twitch Rivals event which kicks off on September 29. Hey #TwitchCon goers, be on the lookout for our newest Legend, Crypto, and a few other familiar faces around the show floor :camera_with_flash: And whether you’re with us or at home, tune in tomorrow to watch #TwitchRivals starting at 9am PT. :tv:: https://t.co/yyysLdWnGQ pic.twitter.com/Hdm0boSE8M— Apex Legends (@PlayApex) September 28, 2019 Many fans at the venue recognized that the Toxic Trapper, Caustic’s cosplayer was carrying a weapon that has not yet made its appearance in the popular battle royale game. The replica gun looked similar to one of the weapons seen in EA’s Titanfall 2 named the CAR SMG and many suspect that players could soon see the submachine gun added as part of the Season 3 update. It has previously been leaked that an SMG could one of the next additions to the game, however, it appeared likely that the Volt SMG was going to be one of the first weapons added in the third season. The only weapon confirmed for Season 3 so far is the Charge Rifle, which looks like it will be an energy-based weapon that will release a direct beam of energy instead of firing rounds. Fans of Apex Legends won’t have to wait much longer to see what Season 3 brings as the new season is only days away from launching on October 1.

  • Apex Legends cosplayer delivers amazing female spin on Octane – Dexerto

Apex Legends cosplayer delivers amazing female spin on Octane When it comes to Apex Legends cosplays, Wraith tends to be the most popular pick, but that doesn’t mean Octane can’t get some love as well. The roster of Apex Legends is pretty much unrivaled when it comes to cosplay opportunities. Each character has a plethora of skins at their disposal so each one could have multiple takes, further increasing the possibilities. Something you don’t see a whole lot of is a female spin on a male character but that’s exactly what we’re looking at here. Instagram user sadiegeneralmajor took Octane and gave him a female twist. It seems pretty safe to say that she pulled it off in a big way. Octane on his own is already one of the more difficult characters to cosplay due to his elaborate design, but that was no problem for Sadie she was not only able to nail his mask, but also his signature eye goggles. https://www.instagram.com/p/B5yD0L9KzLg/ Even if this isn’t the most elaborate cosplay we’ve seen, it’s still impressive, especially when you consider the amount of time and work that has to go into creating these outfits. In another that has green tint over it, you can really see Octane come to life and match his look we see from the game itself. https://www.instagram.com/p/B6JiFTrqlJx/ From this angle, you can also see the stomach design and how it matches Octane’s in-game look almost perfectly. All in all, it’s a solid cosplay of a character who is rather difficult to pull off. There’s a lot of design aspects you have to get right with a character like Octane, which could be the reason we don’t see a whole lot of them in the wild. Another reason could be he’s not exactly the strongest character in the game and as a result, he doesn’t have as many fans. Perhaps some buffs could come his way in the future. As for a character like Wraith, there are not as many extra things you’ll need outside of colored contacts if you want to replicate her phasewalking design. It’s always exciting to see what people can cook up with their cosplays as no two outfits are alike, even if they’re based on the same character. As the Apex Legends roster continues to grow, we will see even more cosplays in the future and we couldn’t be more excited.

  • Apex Legends cosplayer creates best Lifeline outfit yet – Dexerto

Apex Legends cosplayer creates best Lifeline outfit yet Instagram: UniqueSora/Respawn EntertainmentOne Apex Legends cosplayer has made an almost perfect replica of Lifeline, creating one of the best interpretations of the in-game medic we’ve seen so far. Apex Legends unique characters have inspired countless cosplays – from Bloodhound to Wraith, each legend brings a slightly different challenge to aspiring cosplayers. One of the most popular legends both in-game and to cosplay, Lifeline’s design is particularly unique and inventive. Known for her pink hair and white overalls, the medic takes healing her teammates to a new level of innovation. The cosplayer, known on Instagram as ‘UniqueSora‘, has impressed her 175,000 followers with a number of inventive outfits in the past, including Velma from Scooby-Doo and Lara Croft from the eponymous game series. The cosplayer, whose real name is Jasmine, originally shared their Lifeline look back in March, before sharing again on April 7. She joked that her followers need to look after their health or she’ll come for them with her DOC health drone. https://www.instagram.com/p/B9zjPQSBVOC/ In a second post, she explained the hard work that went into the look and that the medic is a reminder to stay healthy during the ongoing global health crisis. As you can see, nearly every aspect of the medic’s outfit has been perfected. The gloves, overalls, and satchels are all nailed on, lending themselves to a pretty incredible cosplay. https://www.instagram.com/p/B-s14dfjQCY/ She has even taken the time to perfect the patterns on the headband, adding undertones of blue to the excellent cosplay. Given the quality of the cosplay, it’s unsurprising that Jasmine has such a large social following. As Lifeline cosplays go, this is one of the best we’ve ever seen.

  • Apex Legends cosplayer casually rocks Wattson & Valkyrie streetwear looks – Dexerto

Apex Legends cosplayer casually rocks Wattson & Valkyrie streetwear looks Respawn EntertainmentOne Apex Legends cosplayer has come up with new streetwear looks for Valkyrie and Wattson, and we’d love to see some skins inspired by them make it to the game. Neither Wattson and Valkyrie are OG legends, but they’ve definitely found their way into the meta, and the hearts of fans since entering the battle royale. Now, Japanese cosplayer @hime_turu1 has come up with two great streetwear looks for each character, that puts a more casual spin on both and takes them away from the chaos of the arena. ワットソンの髪型可愛かったので!顔だけ宅コスしてみた〜!! #ApexLegends pic.twitter.com/JfwZCkN7nS — ヒメツル@全人類LOLをやれ (@hime_turu1) July 3, 2021 The Wattson look comes in with the classic electric blue eyes, shocking blond hair, and the distinctive scar on her left cheek. What makes it ‘streetwear’ is the casual sweater in place of the Static Defender’s regular jumpsuit. It might not be the best for a tactical engagement in King’s Canyon, as there’s nowhere for Wattson to store her gear, but it does remind us of some of the countless fan art for the legend floating around out there. Next up is Valkyrie, who rather than looking like she just flew down from the sky, now seems to have just stepped out of the club with a sleek maroon bomber jacket (a very appropriate choice). While hime’s outfits might not be the most meticulous, the makeup and hair styles are so on-point it’s not hard to tell which legend they’re trying to portray, which is impressive all by itself. APEXのヴァルキリー宅コスしてみた #APEX #ApexLegends pic.twitter.com/hcoJU6CxY2 — ヒメツル@全人類LOLをやれ (@hime_turu1) May 28, 2021 While these cosplays might have been on the more casual side, we can’t wait to see what hime comes up with next, and which legends get a similar casual makeover next. Considering they seem to be a massive Apex fan, we’d guess more cosplays are probably in the pipline, so we’ll just have to wait and see what they come up with next.

  • Apex Legends cosplayer brings Wraith to life with insane costume – Dexerto

Apex Legends cosplayer brings Wraith to life with insane costume LOU3H / REDDITAt World Cyber Games 2019 in China, cosplayer ‘LARKTofu’ brought Apex Legends‘ Wraith to life with what is quite possibly the most realistic costume of the legend to date. WCG is currently underway in Xi’an, China, with players from all around the world competing in one of the biggest tournaments of the year for a big cash prize and for gaming glory. Events like these always bring out dedicated fans who like to cosplay as their favorite characters, and show off their hard work. LARKTofu’s costume was not only one of the best cosplays at the convention, but one of the most realistic we’ve ever seen. “Follow my path to win” LARKTofu recreated the legendary ‘Void Specialist’ skin, which costs 1,200 crafting material to make in game. With its spikes and black wiring, it’s a fan favorite among Wraith players. Fans immediately took to social media to compliment her work because of how accurate it is to the game. Wonderful cosplay of Wraith from @PlayApex presented during #WCG2019 in Xian, China by LARKTofu. I’m so in love :lovestruck: #ApexLegends pic.twitter.com/PQQ6TuZMcH — Malwina / NANA ☆ (@micchanPL) July 18, 2019 But the quality of the costume is only one aspect of cosplaying though, as LARKTofu took it a step further and actually hopped up on stage and performed as the character. Host and caster Bill Carter posted a video of the cosplayer at the event on Twitter, as she performed in her costume for those that attended. Not only did fans get to see the full costume in motion, the female cosplayer also re-enacted the Legend’s in-game movements and stances, while the game’s main music played in the background. Yesterday, they had the COOLEST @PlayApex Wraith Cosplay at #WCG2019 in China:scream: They had the music in the background, and she did an amazing job at showing Wraith’s frustrations during her “set”. 10/10 pic.twitter.com/i8qlG2Q2L4 — Bil Carter (@Jump_) July 18, 2019 Apex Legends clearly has a dedicated fan base who want to bring these characters to life. And while there have been amazing Wraith cosplays before, this is perhaps some of the best dedication to the character we have ever seen.

  • Apex Legends cosplayer blows fans away with incredible female Caustic look – Dexerto

Apex Legends cosplayer blows fans away with incredible female Caustic look Respawn Entertainmen / IG: _Sarenji_tPopular Apex Legends cosplayer ‘Sarenji’ had added to her already impressive portfolio with an incredible female Caustic cosplay, perfectly capturing the Toxic Trapper’s threatening demeanor. The Apex Legends community has long proved itself one of video games’ most engaged and creative. Fans regularly share their cosplays, artwork, and incredible skin concepts. This creation fits into the former and joins a long line of impressive outfits devised by Sarenji, a Germany-based cosplayer with a penchant for Respawn’s battle royale. We’ve seen her Mirage an epic feminine twist in the past and, in August, turned her attention to Caustic – the mask-wielding toxic trapper many have come to despise in Apex Legends. The intimidating legend is known for his yellow overalls and black mask, complete with the Nox canisters that cause so much damage to opponents caught in them. These are all aspects that Sarenji has nailed, sharing multiple angles of the cosplay to Instagram. The yellow overalls, goggles, and sinister mask are present, as are the numerous gas canisters that scatter the front of the heavyweight legend. View this post on Instagram An open canister is spewing Nox gas, and there’s even a nod to Caustic’s heirloom rounding off the sensational cosplay. Sarenji confirmed that the props used are 3D printed, going some way to explain their accuracy and incredible likeness to Caustic’s in-game items. View this post on Instagram It’s up there with the very best Apex Legends cosplays we’ve seen since it dropped back in 2019, and that’s a high bar to reach. Sarenji has also promised that her next cosplay will be Bootlegger Loba. We’re looking forward to it.

  • Apex Legends cosplayer becomes High Society Thief Loba – Dexerto

Apex Legends cosplayer becomes High Society Thief Loba Respawn Entertainment / IG: _sarenji_Apex Legends cosplayer Sarenji has shared their stunning Loba look, donning a perfect outfit and wolfish cane as they recreate the High Society Thief. Added in Season 5 of Apex Legends, Loba has struggled to make a real impact on the battle royale’s meta. However, this could be set to change as Season 9: Legacy approaches, with buffs confirmed for the High Society Thief. While her Ultimate will be nerfed slightly (with its cooldown slowed by 30 seconds), her bracelet will be buffed significantly. She “can now run and slide at full speed while aiming the bracelet and while the bracelet is in the air. Loba will no longer be slowed after translocating.” On top of this, Respawn have confirmed a number of bug fixes that caused bracelet tosses to fail. One aspect of Loba, though, which has been universally popular is her character design. The white standard skin and the wolf cane lend themselves to fan recreations, which is exactly what cosplayer Sarenji has given us. Her cosplay was shared on April 30, and quickly garnered a lot of positive feedback from her 17,000 Instagram followers. The hair and makeup are on point, with attention to detail shown in the earrings and buckles that supplement the white overalls. There’s also an awesome cane, rounding off the illusion with accuracy and creativity. In the second photo, she swapped the cane out for a Wingman replica, giving her Loba look a more dangerous edge. View this post on Instagram The cosplay even caught the eye of Fryda Wolff, the voice of Loba in-game, saying: “After Shadow and Bone I am VERY into animal canes aesthetic.” https://twitter.com/FreeTheWolfVO/status/1388163552481972229?s=20 It’s definitely one of the best Loba cosplays we’ve seen, both accurate and creative. It’s not the first time Sarenji has wowed as an Apex Legend either, showing up this stylish Crypto look back in January.

  • Apex Legends cosplayer shares incredibly accurate Octane outfit – Dexerto

Apex Legends cosplayer shares incredibly accurate Octane outfit Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends community show off some of the best cosplays around the net, but people might find it hard to come around an Octane design better than Erin Ball’s outfit that’s a stunning reimagining of the Adrenaline Junkie. Respawn Entertainment launched their thrilling battle royale on February 4 with a cast of unique characters. While Octane came a bit later as the game’s first addition, fans instantly loved the high-flying thrill seeker upon release. Since then, the community has produced insane creations in artwork and more featuring the ninth legend that perfectly breathes new life into the Apex Games’ daredevil. The crowning homage to Octane, however, might be in the form of Ball’s outfit design that dresses the double amputee in an insanely accurate cosplay from head to mechanical toe. In collaboration with Henchmen Studios, Ball’s cosplay has everything from Octane’s fit stunningly recreated. Octane is known for his adrenaline-pumping acts which requires him to wear an intricate headdress featuring goggles and a mask among other things. Ball’s design incorporates those elements while even showing off some detailed flare as she has Octane’s bold tattoo prominently recreated on her left arm. But fans are sure to put their attention on the incredible prosthetics that were specially made for this cosplay. According to a report by EuroGamer, the people who put it together took measurements of Ball’s everyday sockets. Then they used that to create a 3D model of the sockets and stilts that Ball’s cosplay would have, before looking to the game’s character design to bring the finishing touches to life. Read more: How to easily find Flyers in Apex Legends – The whole design process must have been difficult, but it definitely paid off seeing as Ball delivered one of the most astonishing takes to an Apex Legends character seen so far. Apex Legends community knows how to make great cosplays While Ball’s outfit certainly separates itself from other reimaginings in terms of quality and overall design, the Apex community have previously cooked up great cosplays for other legends. Cosplayer ‘Kayyybear’ put on one of the best takes to popular combat medic Lifeline, that was so good that the CEO of Respawn Entertainment Vince Zampella even chimed in on the design. There’s no shortage of creative cosplayers in the Apex Legends scene, and as the game develops there’s sure to be more incredible costumes to come.

  • Apex Legends copies Warzone resurgence with new Revival mode – Dexerto

Apex Legends copies Warzone resurgence with new Revival mode Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends is adding a new mode in Season 22 that will be very familiar to Warzone players, as it takes the shape of Call of Duty’s popular Resurgence mode. Here’s everything we know about it. Season 22 is bringing several notable changes to Apex Legends. We’re finally getting aim assist nerfs after years of complaints from keyboard and mouse players, Akimbo pistols, and the new E-District map. One change that may not feel completely new to those who have dabbled in Warzone, however, will be the introduction of the Revival mode, where players can be brought back without the need for a teammate’s banner or respawn beacon, able to drop back into the map multiple times before their team is fully wiped out. Here is the official description of Apex Legends’ Revival mode: “Stay in The Games with Unlimited Revival until the end of Round 4! Here’s the deal: players will be recharged with revivals, as long as they’ve got at least one squadmate alive. Just wait a minimum of 30 seconds (with time increasing with each round) to automatically start a drop-in sequence near the safest teammate. “And for more shocking news: Respawn Beacons and Banners have been removed, to make it even easier to dive to a team and jumpstart another fight.” Squadmates can reduce the revival timer by getting damage and knocks, but be warned – after Round 4, the revives are shut off, so at that point, whoever is left must play for the win. In Warzone, Resurgence is played exclusively on smaller, mode-specific maps, or on smaller segments of the big map. In Apex Legends, the standard maps will be used, as this mode takes over regular trios at the start of the season. Apex Legends Season 22 officially launches on Tuesday, August 6, so make sure you take a look at the early patch notes to see what else is coming to the game.

  • Apex Legends controller players are totally dominating PC Ranked in Predator – Dexerto

Apex Legends controller players are totally dominating PC Ranked in Predator Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends controller players have taken over the Predator ladder on PC, with only a few of the top 25 highest Ranked competitors using MnK. The MnK versus controller debate has been raging on since the release of Apex Legends all the way back in 2019. While some players argue controller aim assist is OP and makes it easy to land shots, others claim the precision offered by MnK is unmatched. Of course, at the end of the day, the choice all comes down to preference and which devices you perform better on. However, in Season 14, the majority of Predator players on the PC ladder are controller users, and it has led a lot of the community to conclude that controller is the better option. Controller players have taken over Apex Legends Predator While the MnK versus controller debate will likely never be resolved, one Twitter user thinks they’ve found the evidence to prove that controller is the better option. After collecting data from Apex Legends Status, @JENNIFE79737685 has pointed out that 88% of the top 25 PC Predator players are using a controller. Showcasing each player’s device of choice by colored circles, orange stands for unknown and red marks a verified controller-only player. Orange is unknown individuals with zero online presence, red is a verified controller only player. (88% not 92%) — Dwight (@JENNIFE79737685) October 3, 2022 With aim assist being available for those who use controller, it’s possible that top-ranked players prefer the device as it makes close-range gunfights significantly easier. Although MnK offers pinpoint precision, a lot of Apex’s skirmishes happen at close-range where every point of damage matters. While this could just be a temporary trend or coincidence, it does showcase the popularity of controller among the best players in the world. Some members of the community believe this evidence is enough to justify a nerf to aim assist. However, it’s extremely unlikely Respawn would consider this when using such a small sample size.

  • Apex Legends controller player humilliates PC opponents without aim assist – Dexerto

Apex Legends controller player humilliates PC opponents without aim assist Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has switched his console for a PC, and been dominating opponents without the help of aim assist. For players who use a games controller to play on PC, aim assist is practically a necessity, helping those who are using thumbsticks to find their targets more easily against opponents on keyboard and mouse. The mouse gives PC players a significant advantage over their controller counterparts, as it allows for greater movement and precision aiming, but a controller player has proved that playing, and dominating, without the use of aim assist is entirely possible. In a video taken from a live stream, Apex Legends player Calamiti can be seen dropping a massive 26 kills on his PC opponents, and eventually finding the overall victory in his match. As to why he likes to play without aim assist on, Calamiti said: “It doesn’t really help me in any situation. I just like the challenge of not having aim assist, plus keyboard players will make the excuse that controller players are only good because of aim assist. So if you have it off, and you’re still good…” If you want to watch the player’s full 18 minute gameplay in which he destroys multiple opponents without any aim assist, you can do so below. Calamiti also includes a special controller icon in the bottom corner of his screen, which shows which buttons he is pressing as he does so, giving viewers an opportunity to watch his incredible technical skills and speed in real time. Viewers of the video are clearly impressed by his incredible talent, with some labelling him as the “best PC controller player,” with another suggesting that he is the “most talented Apex Legends player” they have ever seen.

  • Apex Legends controller disadvantage is still causing problems in Season 11 – Dexerto

Apex Legends controller disadvantage is still causing problems in Season 11 Respawn EntertainmentAn issue that makes it impossible for controller players to reload behind a downed teammate has still not been fixed in Apex Legends and players are becoming increasingly frustrated. Button remapping is extremely important in FPS games, as it allows players to find a comfortable layout that fits their playstyle and preferences. While this feature is available for Apex Legends players on PC, it’s not an option for those on consoles. As a result, certain buttons are used for multiple interactions, and this can cause some frustrating issues in gunfights. One that’s mentioned frequently by console users is the inability to reload when using downed teammates for cover. As this has been a problem since the game’s release, players are beginning to lose patience and are now asking the devs directly for a fix. Apex Legends players want controller button remapping After encountering the issue in one of their Apex matches, Jashby010 took to the Apex Legends subreddit to showcase why certain interactions on controller put consoles players at a disadvantage. While attempting to use their downed teammates as cover, Jashby010 was unable to reload their weapon as the revive and reload functions are bound to the same button. Of course, this is a huge issue for console players as using your teammates for cover on PC is a great tactic for coming out on top in intense gunfights. As a solution, Jashby010 suggested making it so players have to tap to reload and hold to revive, but for a lot of the community, button remapping is the only proper solution. First things first yes I know im trash at apex that’s not the point here, but respawn can you PLEASE make it so we can reload when using downed teammates as cover, you can do it on PC, but not on console, please, make it as simple as tap to reload and hold to res or something. byu/Jashby010 inapexlegends It’s safe to say Jashby010 isn’t the only one experiencing this frustrating interaction on console, with multiple users describing it as a massive issue: “I had this same problem yesterday I agree it’s a huge issue with console.” Others have argued that Respawn should add button remapping to console, and give players the freedom to layout their controller for themselves. “It’s weird how these 2 things on controller are the most called for fixes… let us choose to reload behind teammates and let us move while looting,” one user wrote. Either way, it’s obvious there’s a demand for button remapping on console, or at the very least a set of changes to prevent these interactions from happening. We’ll just have to wait and see whether Respawn takes note and makes it a priority.

  • Apex Legends controller champ Genburten reveals OP sensitivity: “It’s cheating” – Dexerto

Apex Legends controller champ Genburten reveals OP sensitivity: “It’s cheating” Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends controller king Noyan ‘Genburten’ Ozkose has revealed an OP sensitivity that makes it feel like you’re “cheating”, but it does have a few downsides. As with any multiplayer FPS, Apex Legends has a variety of settings for players to tweak and experiment with until they find the perfect setup. This is particularly important on controller as movement and aim can feel a little more limited compared to mouse and keyboard. As a result, many controller players copy the top pros when it comes to sensitivity, hoping to land more shots. Well, controller champ Genburten revealed an OP sensitivity setup that beams opponents and makes it easy to land huge amounts of damage, but it does limit mobility. Genburten reveals “aimbot” sensitivity in Apex Legends During a recent stream, Genburten and his squad were talking about the best look sensitivity to use on controller in Apex. While (4) (3) Linear was mentioned as a strong choice, Genburten also revealed that he’d tried (2) (2) Linear and it felt like he was “cheating”. The “aimbot” setup allowed him to beam enemies from a distance with ease, but it’s definitely not a setup the majority of players will be used to using. “(2) (2) Linear is actually broken, it should not be allowed, it’s actually f***ing aimbot bro… it’s cheating”. While Genburten insists these settings work if you put in some practice with them, they certainly have their limitations. As showcased by him and his squad, the turn speed is unbelievably slow, so if you’re opponent’s running and gunning, you’re going to struggle to keep up. Although Genburten has only used this sensitivity setup in pubs, it may be worth testing out in your matches if you’re desperate to land more damage at long range. However, while it may be OP for beaming opponents, it’s likely to fall short at close quarters where enemies are usually moving at high-speed.

  • Apex Legends controller aim assist in Respawn’s sights after tap strafe changes – Dexerto

Apex Legends controller aim assist in Respawn’s sights after tap strafe changes Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends’ controller aim assist is back on the table at Respawn. After the removal of tap strafing, a popular mouse and keyboard movement mechanic, the developers are considering a controller balance change to bring the two inputs closer to parity. It’s a debate as old as time in Apex Legends — especially so since crossplay was introduced. Controller players and mouse and keyboard users alike wage war in the Apex Games, and there’s inherent advantages to both inputs. Mouse and keyboard players have a lot more flexibility in what they can do, with more keys to pull off insane movement and quick looting. Controller players, though, have the fabled aim assist. It’s a bit hard getting precision aim on the sticks compared to a mouse, so Apex Legends will help you with a bit of push and pull, as long as your aim is near good enough. Developer John ‘JayBiebs’ Larson knows the debate well. As a controller player himself, he’s aware of the advantages aim assist brings. With more mechanics being stripped away from PC players, there’s a chance controller aim assist will be reined in too. “I can’t speak to one’s superiority over the other; they have their pros and cons. For the record though, across MMR levels, rank, you name it, the difference in weapon performance is not nearly as great as some would believe,” he admitted on September 1, discussing the upcoming tap strafe changes. “As Apex and its players evolve, it’s only prudent for us to continue to evaluate whether or not aim assist is ‘too good’. When I see top-level controller players saying they would be alright with nerfing aim assist, I definitely take note. “Players should not feel forced to use a specific input type, and if I see players converting out of what they think is necessity, I would 100% be concerned.” Respawn will “”continue to evaluate”” aim assist in Apex Legends, and devs will discuss the current balance of controller vs mouse & keyboard this week. “”Players should not feel forced to use a specific input type.”” pic.twitter.com/NQDBdI31Ao — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) September 1, 2021 Some pro players have already swapped to controller, and there’s even been talk of a “hybrid meta”: Using mouse and keyboard early before swapping to the sticks for late-game close-range fights. Respawn don’t want aim assist to be used as a “difficulty lever”, but they are looking into nerfing it if the movement changes drastically impact the health of the game. They’re also wary of making too many changes to controller, too. Patterns like aiming and even looting have become “deeply ingrained in muscle memory”. “The asks of increasing aim assist at range or improving the looting flow on controller are not as easy as changing a couple numbers,” Larson admitted. “We always have our eyes peeled for opportunities for improvement, and try to jump on them when we [have] time to do our due diligence. “When it comes to accessibility, we often must consider controller players given the constraints compared to MnK. But, accessibility does not equal balance design, and it’s a strawman argument to treat it as such.” Tap strafing will be gone by Apex Legends patch 10.1, but any changes to controller aim assist will come at a later date — at least until after Respawn discuss it internally in a few days.

  • Apex Legends dev responds to concerns over Control LTM upcoming removal – Dexerto

Apex Legends dev responds to concerns over Control LTM upcoming removal Respawn EntertainmentAs confusion looms over Control’s upcoming removal from Apex Legends Season 12, a Respawn dev explained why the studio takes down limited timed modes despite them being popular with players. Respawn Entertainment Analytics & Data Science engineer ‘eriddy’ shed some light on why LTMs like Control, unfortunately, get the ax after a while. While devs and players both benefit when an LTM pops off, keeping up multiple playlists in Apex generally results in a technical burden to maintain especially once data from the LTM starts to show waning interests. Eriddy described what Respawn keeps an eye on when launching playlists like Control and why “keeping a mode around isn’t impossible.” Apex Legends LTM removals Despite the positive feedback around Control already, it’s still scheduled to leave a few weeks after the Season 12 patch. Though it’s not ideal for people enjoying the mode, Respawn have a few things to consider when these LTMs drop. “Adding modes fractures the playerbase from that point forward,” eriddy said, listing the reasons why Apex would disable an LTM. “It would be really hard to maintain all the game systems at our standards across modes (think legend balance across different modes). “Most importantly: we can see that there’s a sweet spot for the durations of most LTMs (see: the McRib). If you’ve been getting good at standard BR, it’s common to see that player go back to their main jam after a period of time.” Keeping a healthy infrastructure to support the main battle royale along with other modes that might crop up takes a lot of resources. Beyond that, buffing and nerfing Legends gets complicated when issuing a single patch that changes a character across different playlists. Making Apex Legends’ Control permanent “isn’t impossible” Apex players have been loving the new 9v9 playlist that takes after Call of Duty’s Domination mode, but there’s a dark cloud over all the fun. Even though it was introduced at the start of the Defiance patch update, Control is only going to be live for the first three weeks of the season. That gives players a deadline of around March 1 before Control gets removed from the game. Though it’ll make a couple of appearances throughout Season 12, Respawn are already seeing calls from the Apex Legends community to make it permanent. For what it’s worth, Eriddy gave players hope that it wasn’t out of the realm of possibilities for these LTMs to stay long after their intended lifespan. “That said, new modes provide new data, and depending on factors like those I discussed, keeping a mode around isn’t impossible.”

  • Apex Legends content creator under fire after claiming “nobody cares” about the game in 2023 – Dexerto

Apex Legends content creator under fire after claiming “nobody cares” about the game in 2023 EAIt’s no secret that Apex Legends has seen better days. Once a superstar of the battle royale genre, the game has seen a troubling decline in player and viewer counts of late. However, content creator ‘ottr’ has come under fire for pointing out the struggles, with some fans fighting back against the claims. Content creator Ottr has taken to Twitter, sounding the death knell for the game. Yet, in doing so, they’ve sparked a wildfire of responses and drawn attention to the real issues plaguing the Apex community. “When I say Apex is dead I mean it,” Ottr tweeted on July 5. “Views are down on every platform, for every creator. Smaller creators have been quitting, it’s just a matter of fact before the bigger ones do as well. “Nobody cares about Apex anymore. The new season has to get interest up more than ever, or the game is over,” he claimed. And the numbers seem to agree with Ottr’s grim prophecy. Twitch stats for July show a 21% decline in concurrent viewers from the previous month, rounding out to an average of 30.9K viewers. Over on Steam Charts, the player base in June dropped by a staggering 17.04% compared to May. Ottr’s tweet wasn’t mere speculation. Yet, not everyone shares Ottr’s point of view. ‘Apex Navy,’ another Twitter user, argued that the cycle of love and hate for the game is nothing new: “Someone says this every single season… It’s actually annoying.” Another user, ‘Thordan Smash,’ admitted to noticing a drop in views, but refrained from calling it a death knell for the game. But perhaps the most damning of the feedback comes from the game’s own community. Reddit user ‘imnew- highlighted‘ how flawed matchmaking and a discouraging experience for casual players is hurting the game. Echoing this sentiment, user ‘MrPheeney’ suggested that the game has “given up on matchmaking in general.” Another, sking74, added the persisting issue of third-party cheating devices into the mix. Only time will tell whether Apex Legends is on its last legs or if the upcoming season will breathe new life into the battle royale game. Whatever the outcome, Ottr’s tweet has sparked a critical conversation around the game’s future and drawn attention to the real issues the community wants addressed.

  • Apex Legends console players pleading for fix to crucial gameplay mechanic – Dexerto

Apex Legends console players pleading for fix to crucial gameplay mechanic Apex Legends has some of the most intense action in the battle royale genre, but console players have been suffering from an annoying game design decision that makes firefights stressful to execute. Respawn Entertainment released their battle royale on February 4 and have since been met with critical acclaim by players of all kind. But persistent problems in the game such as inconsistent hitboxes and perpetual bugs have made the game hard to love since its launch. Players who use a controller when jumping down to King’s Canyon have been noticing a continuous annoyance that is bordering on game-breaking in a crowded fight. Fumbing with controls A video by Reddit user ‘TrainerJacob392’ shows exactly how troublesome a fight can be on console. Unfortunately, the burgeoning problem within the chaos isn’t with the attacking players, it’s with the hectic changes happening with the X button. By default, X is used to reload a weapon, but it’s also for pretty much everything else ranging from looting a player to picking up a downed teammate’s banner. Amid the close quarters engagement, the video shows TrainerJacob392’s screen fumbling through different commands as bullets are flying. Intended controls not working for some console players While the action settles down, TrainerJacob392 makes a push to the enemy Pathfinder who had just got his squad mate up. But instead of making quick work out of the two remaining Legends, TrainerJacob392 can be seen picking up his teammate’s banner at the worst possible time. Though it may appear like a hilarious player gaffe, the problem was a bit more frustrating than that. Having no more rounds in his R99, TrainerJacob392 pushed the X button down just as it changed from being their reload to picking up their downed player’s banner. No easy solution without the developers Commenters chimed in with problems they faced because of the cluttered button layout similar to this example. Other issues ranged from not being able to loot if a box is too close to a door, not being able to revive teammates because of other command prompts, and more. Read more: Apex Legends v1.1.1 update patch notes – Legends and weapon balancing, Battle Pass XP event, and more – While some commenters suggest simply switching to the provided “Hold X” to reload option in the settings, some players said that sounded “awful” and don’t see it as a viable option especially in a heated battle zone. Apex Legends has a huge console community, many of which would ask for a fix to the problem implemented soon.

  • Apex Legends console players highlight major disadvantage compared to PC – Dexerto

Apex Legends console players highlight major disadvantage compared to PC Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends console players have raised their concerns about the inability to move while looting, considering PC players have the advantage to currently do so. Over 50 million players have downloaded the free-to-play battle royale, with plenty of players diving into Kings Canyon on a console across both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms. However, some have begun to take issue with the inability to loot on the move considering players of the game on PC are able to move around while looting, giving them a chance to recharge during a firefight. Fans have taken to the Apex Legends subreddit and forum pages to submit posts regarding the issue – but have largely been ignored. Console players are at a disadvantage when looting as they are unable to move around and essentially become sitting ducks as the left-stick controls both movement and cycling through lists of loot. There is the option to crouch and un-crouch while searching death boxes, but any enemy with their sight trained on the looting player will wait for the pattern of movement. In contrast, PC players of Apex Legends are able to move around within a small radius while looting that makes them much more difficult to hit as a possible target. Having the ability to move during a gunfight also makes for some highlight plays from high-level PC players, like NRG’s Coby ‘Dizzy’ Meadows, as they are able to dance around any oncoming fire with ease – all while being able to secure fresh loot from fallen enemies. Should Respawn implement the ability to cross-play over different devices, as they have already revealed that they would, the issue would need to be addressed to give console and PC players a level playing field. However, cross-play still seems to be a long way off, giving the game’s developers plenty of time to iron out any potential issues.

  • Apex Legends console players highlight major disadvantage vs PC – Dexerto

Apex Legends console players highlight major disadvantage vs PC Respawn/UnsplashApex Legends console players have highlighted yet another disadvantage between themselves and anyone who plays the battle royale title on PC. Respawn Entertainment’s popular free-to-play battle royale is now into its third season of content as it approaches a near full-year on the market. Ever since it dropped, pretty surprisingly, back in February, the game has built on some solid foundations and kept fans wanting more. However, despite the success, it hasn’t been perfect and players have run intoFortnite and PUBG. One of those is cross-platform play between consoles and PC players, but the wait for that could be extended after some fans have picked up a huge difference between the two. For a couple of days, Reddit user Deadtoast15 has been posting threads on the Apex Legends subreddit that notes a request for the developers to add a sensitivity adjuster for looting and inventory management on console. “Everytime I watch a PC gamer and see them loot death boxes and manage their inventory they can do everything very quickly,” they commented. “Console, since the day Apex released, has kept the same slow cursor speed.” Deadtoast15 also noted that in high tier matches, looting and managing inventory just slows the pace right down, so that it isn’t just a quality of life issue, but it also affects gameplay – both positively and negatively. With the Redditor being into the third day of the campaign, other fans have jumped aboard the bandwagon in the hopes of seeing some changes being made. “Even picking up items from the ground is slower now (started season 2 I think). You have to really stop and look at the item,” added user moisesg88. Another, Almost_AR, commented: “Black ops 4 made theirs faster when fans asked, idk (I don’t know) why we can’t.” While members of the Apex Legends team are active within the subreddit, they haven’t yet responded to this particular issue, so it’s unknown if they are even aware of it. If it hasn’t already, it will certainly come to their attention in the near future as the daily thread campaign continues on.

  • Apex Legends considering legal action to stop hackers and DDoS attacks – Dexerto

Apex Legends considering legal action to stop hackers and DDoS attacks Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has been enduring an increasing problem with cheaters and DDoS attacks, rendering the game unplayable for some. The development team at Respawn has confirmed they’re exploring all avenues to bring it to an end. The problems have reached a breaking point as popular streamers and high-ranked players have been targeted by particularly invasive hackers. These hackers not only use cheats like aimbots and wallhacks, but also find ways to infiltrate player’s lobbies, and even stop them from connecting to the servers. This was highlighted by Twitch streamer ShivFPS, who has been on a tirade against the hackers. The hackers say they will be nicer to streamers who do as they say, but Shiv is not playing their games. So @EA @Respawn, i’m being locked out of playing @PlayApex. and let it be known this is a hacker locking people out of their accounts. please work on fixing this. or maybe it’ll have to be another game we play from now on. gg’s FIX IT pic.twitter.com/TGOwZSDwvW — LG Shiv (@ShivFPS) April 9, 2021 Respawn respond to cheating in Apex Respawn’s head of comms, Ryan Rigney, explained that they are investigating everything they can do to resolve things. “We know about it and are trying every avenue (technical, legal, etc.) right now to see what we can do to fix it,” he said. “We think our current approach of just banning cheaters/DDOSers isn’t enough.” In another post, Rigney said there will be more announcements to come soon. https://twitter.com/RKRigney/status/1380575297486086154 DDoS attacks are another issue that have been plaguing Apex Legends, particularly on console, ruining ranked play especially. Respawn have already taken action against DDoS attackers in March, but the ban wave hasn’t been enough to end it entirely. On a similar note, they are also considering adding loss forgiveness in Ranked play, if a game is spoiled by a cheater or DDoS attack. Apex Legends Season 9 is expected to start on May 4, which is when the next Ranked split will begin. For many, the Season 8 ranked splits have been spoiled by a mix of connection issues, hackers, and DDoS attacks.

  • Apex Legends considering adding a “skin museum” for old skins that are unavailable – Dexerto

Apex Legends considering adding a “skin museum” for old skins that are unavailable Respawn EntertainmentMissed out on an old event skin in Apex Legends and what to see what it looked like? Apex Legends devs at Respawn Entertainment are considering adding a skin “museum” of sorts, to allow players to see unavailable skins in-game. Currently, when skins become unavailable after an event or promotion has ended, the only way players can see what they missed out on is by searching the internet. This includes items like Twitch Prime skins, old starter packs, and of course skins and recolors from past Collection events or in-game sales. An idea suggested by a player got a dev thinking, and they are considering adding a system in-game to be able to view old skins, even those that are no longer available to players. In Season 9, Respawn’s UI team added a new function to be able to sort badges by ones that players have unlocked, making it easier to navigate. UI Developer RobotHavGunz said that they have plans for more improvements like this, including sorting charms. A player suggested that “Whenever you get around to this system for skins, would it be possible to let us view event/recolor legendaries, even if we couldn’t obtain them? Maybe put it behind a filter/toggle similar to Overwatch.” The developer responded, “I do think it’d be neat. I spend a lot of time actually looking at old skins in dev builds internally. I wouldn’t want it to be more frustrating. But I do like the idea of a “vault” or “museum” of sorts rather than making people google the old skins…” Such a feature doesn’t sound like it’s in the works at this stage, and there’s no guarantee it will ever happen, but it would certainly be a welcome addition. Read More: Apex Legends dev says Loba is “crazy strong” – With new skins coming in at a rapid rate, it will soon become a massive task to keep an archive of everything, but an in-game museum would be an excellent feature. Hopefully, we’ll hear more on this in a future update.

  • Apex Legends confirms Rampart working for Titanfall 2 villain in Season 6 – Dexerto

Apex Legends confirms Rampart working for Titanfall 2 villain in Season 6 Respawn EntertainmentNew Apex Legends character Rampart will be working with Titanfall 2 villain Kuben Blisk in some capacity heading into Season 6’s long-teased storyline, according to the final piece of the puzzle revealed in Respawn’s latest teaser. The Apex Legends fandom has long suspected the next Legend to drop into Respawn’s huge battle royale, turret-loving Rampart, is working alongside the infamous Apex Games founder Kuben Blisk. In-game teasers, throwaway voice lines, and more, all point in the exact same direction; the Titanfall 2 antagonist will play a role in Rampart’s debut, and maybe even her whole Season 6 storyline. Up until now, however, it’s mainly been fan theories that have fueled this team-up. Rampart’s late Season 5 teasers have referenced Blisk — some even show graffiti drawings of his face — alongside promises to not “let ya [Blisk] down.” A new Season 6 teaser video, set to premiere on Tuesday, August 11, has now given us the biggest clue yet. Rampart and Blisk are clasping hands in the cover image of the soon-to-be-released “Stories from the Outlands” teaser. The cover image of the video, titled “The Endorsement,” only shows two hands, but there’s plenty of evidence to confirm it’s the pair. The hand on the right is definitely Rami Parekh (Rampart). She’s got her white gloves on in the image. Blisk is all but confirmed to be the other. According to Apex Legends investigator ItzBlight, via popular data miner Biast12, that hand lines up perfectly with Kuben’s forearm bracer that appears in one of the original Apex teaser videos. Those same red and grey bracers can be seen on Blisk’s original character model from the Titanfall series, where he made his first appearance. Even the hand armor itself appears to be the same, confirming his spot in the August 11 teaser. What does Blisk’s appearance mean? This does leave us with a few questions. Why is Blisk appearing in the trailer? What kind of role will he play in Rampart’s Season 6 storyline? Does this mean he’s back for good? All good questions, if we do say so ourselves. The last time we heard about the Apex Games founder was amid the big build-up to Season 5. Even then, that was just to say he was missing. “No one’s heard from the man in a year,” one of the Revenant teasers revealed back in February. “He could be dead.” Only, he clearly isn’t dead — or won’t be whenever “The Endorsement” teaser is actually set time-wise — because he has to play a role in Rampart joining the Games. It’s likely he returns to bring her into the fold, backing her himself. This would also make sense why Rampart is saying she has to “make [Blisk] proud”. She’d want to make sure she gets it right, especially if she’s been tapped up by the commissioner himself. The teaser name, “The Endorsement,” also fits this possible angle. Rampart could battle Revenant and Loba Up until this point in the battle royale, the biggest storyline has been Loba’s mission for revenge against Season 4 antagonist Revenant. Blisk may want Rampart inside the games so she can find out what’s been going on in his absence. Read more: Did Apex tease Olympus in Season 6 trailer? – Then again, he may not even be aware of it, and just thinks she would be a good addition to his semi-legal blood sport. He’s been away for a while — more than a year at this point in the Apex story — so he may not be up to speed just yet. There is one thing we can take from all of this, however; the Apex Predators villain is finally coming back into the storyline, and he’s sure to shake up the status quo. The South African mercenary may even lead the story for seasons to come. For now, all Apex Legends fans have to do to find out the answers is set their clocks. All these questions, and more, will be answered in the new “The Endorsement” animated short. The teaser will go live at 10am PT on Tuesday, August 11.

  • Did Apex Legends just confirm a new map theory for Season 3? – Dexerto

Did Apex Legends just confirm a new map theory for Season 3? Respawn EntertainmentThe road to Apex Legends Season 3 has been full of teasers that’s slowly been pointing to a new location for the battle royale, and a familiar spire from Titanfall lore has all but confirmed it. Respawn Entertainment are ramping up the reveals leading up to the game’s upcoming chapter, which is finally going to release Crypto to the Apex Games. One of the biggest questions left unanswered for Season 3 revolves around a possible new setting in store for Apex Legends players. As Season 2 comes close to an end, all signs have been pointing to a change in battlegrounds for players to compete in. 600In a second September 25 teaser, the official Apex Legends Twitter page posted a gif for a structure that’s embedded into the Titanfall universe lore. The images reveal that a “Location (is) ready” and that the Ares broadcast is “on.” The biggest mystery lies in the “Key” for the spire called World’s Edge. The teaser highlights a Space Elevator previously seen in the background of Titanfall 2’s Eden multiplayer map, but it looks like it will now play a pivotal role of some kind in Season 3’s events. With Crypto laying waste to Kings Canyon in Season 2’s events hoping to “hitch a ride on the dropship off Solace,” the massive elevator could be used to transport the location of the Apex Games to another world. Similarly, some players believe that World’s Edge could be simply hinting at a new location on Kings Canyon. It should be noted that the latest Twitter teaser shows the same images of when Crypto first appeared in the game. While the content is identical, it could mean that Respawn is getting closer to finally revealing a new trailer that could include a connection to a planet once seen in previous Titanfall concepts. Season 2 of Apex Legends ends on September 30 with Season 3 closely following as it launches on October 1.

  • Apex Legends artist reveals awesome concepts for Predator, Chappie skins – Dexerto

Apex Legends artist reveals awesome concepts for Predator, Chappie skins Respawn/SONYNew skins are a big deal in Apex Legends and Kevin Anderson, an artist who worked on the game, has shared some concepts he had for skins that would be instant hits. Apex will kick off their “Fright or Fight” Halloween event on Tuesday, October 15 and it’s bringing a ton of new skins for players to collect as well. With all the new Apex skin hype flying around Anderson, now the character lead at Ubisoft decided to share two skin ideas he had for Bloodhound and Pathfinder – which due to legal reasons, never made it into the game. Skins that Pathfinder and Bloodhound deserve Anderson’s scrapped idea for a Pathfinder skin was based on the robot Chappie from the 2015 film of the same name. Pathfinder as Chappie is a skin idea that’s been thrown around the Apex community before, but it’s cool to see that someone who actually worked on the game liked the idea enough to create a concept. Doodles for skins I had done at home but knew (for legal reasons) were never meant to be 🙁 #apex #Apex自己紹介カード pic.twitter.com/vV9pvQe5Zp — Kevin Anderson (@shirokumakun) October 14, 2019 Bloodhound gets a great Predator-inspired skin, with the alien’s hair fitting right into the legend’s headgear. Both the Predator and Bloodhound have impressive tracking skills which makes this concept a near-perfect fit. When do the Halloween skins drop? The October 14 trailer for the Fight or Fright event showed a darker side of Kings Canyon and also a new Halloween costume skin for each legend (except poor Pathfinder). Along with all the new cosmetics and skins, Fight or Fright will also introduce a new Heirloom item for Lifeline – with possible images of the new item leaked back in September. Apex Legend’s Fight or Fright event runs from October 15 to November 5, which gives players just over two weeks to get the skins and cosmetics they want. Predator Bloodhound and Chappie Pathfinder might not be available in-game, but at least you can pick up Mirage’s hilarious cowboy costume.

  • Apex Legends concept would show players every single thing that happened in their game – Dexerto

Apex Legends concept would show players every single thing that happened in their game An Apex Legends player has suggested a concept for the game that would give players a better understanding of exactly how each game played out. The idea put forward by u/atemple47 would show players a map of King’s Canyon at the end of each game with a breakdown of exactly what happened to them as they attempted, successfully or otherwise, to become champions. The concept would show players their travel route across the map after each game, as well as marking points of note like where they landed, where they killed enemies, and where they were ultimately eliminated. As well as simply being interesting, especially after a long game in which the player moved around a lot or picked up a lot of kills, over time it could also help players get a sense of their own tendencies, as well as which areas of the map tend to work better for them. Other players have also suggested a more detailed version, incorporating the paths of the enemy that eliminated you as well, for instance, or even perhaps having the option to show paths for all of the players in the game, although this could easily get quite cluttered Other suggestions along similar lines include personal heat-maps showing where players have picked up their kills, where they’ve landed the most, or where they’ve been eliminated throughout their Apex Legends career. Apex has faced some criticism for the limitations of its current stat tracking. There are no overall statistics available in-game, with stats being tracked only on a legend-by-legend basis, meaning players have to manually add them together to figure out their overall numbers. Even then, the types of statistics available remain fairly limited. Respawn Entertainment have yet to comment on whether or not they’ll expand the game’s statistics tracking, either in terms of traditional stats or more visual statistics like u/atemple47’s concept.

Well, an Apex player has developed a video concept that brings a Warzone-like Gunsmith system to the battle royale. Call of Duty: Warzone and Apex Legends are both immensely popular games in the battle royale genre. However, they approach the customization of weapons in completely different ways. Apex is balanced around players finding loot and steadily building up their weapons as they explore the map. Whereas Warzone, despite centering around loot at the start of a match, encourages players to call in their own customized weapons through loadout drops. This means there is certainly less freedom for customization in Apex, but it does ensure all players are on a level playing field. Despite this, it does beg the question, how game-changing would class creation be in Apex? Player concept brings Warzone’s Gunsmith to Apex Legends A thread posted to the Apex Legends subreddit has shown exactly how a Gunsmith-style system would look in-game. Read More: When does Season 8 of Apex Legends start? – The concept video shows the player customizing an Alternator. After entering the Gunsmith tab, the player is allowed to select a range of attachments that would usually be found in loot boxes across a map. Just like Warzone, the customization is split into the Barrel, Muzzle, Underbarrel, Magazine, and Stock. It’s clear a tremendous amount of effort was put into this concept as the video showcases every attachment on the Alternator. The concept even provides descriptions of the pros and cons of each of the attachments. There is no doubt a Gunsmith-style system in Apex would change the game completely. For one, players would begin creating classes for the most-overpowered weapons in-game and the diversity of guns seen in matches would be reduced. On top of this, Apex’s loot focused gameplay would be made redundant with players looking to get their custom loadout as soon as possible. Although a create a class system isn’t what the majority of Apex players want, it’s certainly interesting to see a functioning and working concept. You never know, Respawn may even opt to include some form of weapon customization in a future LTM. Until then, it’s probably best that Apex and Warzone remain different and allow players to choose their preferred system.

  • Apex Legends concept for Skyrim-style lockpicks inspires buff idea for Crypto – Dexerto

Apex Legends concept for Skyrim-style lockpicks inspires buff idea for Crypto Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are always coming up with exciting new ideas for their favorite Legends, but this Skyrim-style concept could make Crypto even more useful. Apex Legends Vaults contain some incredibly powerful weapons and loot that can give squads the edge needed to win even the fiercest of firefights. However, getting into them isn’t always easy, especially when you need to track down a Vault Key. These keys are obtained from Cargo Bots, which can be fairly tricky to track down if you don’t land near one. To make things a little worse, Vault Keys aren’t even a guaranteed drop when you do crack open one. This can make gaining access to the game’s best loot a little tricky, but one Skyrim fan concept could help alleviate this issue, while also serving as a decent buff for Crypto. Apex Legends Skyrim Vault concept Skyrim’s lockpick system has always been a favorite way for players to gain entry to locked areas. Not only does the mini-game require a certain amount of skill, but it also has its own dangers. After all, getting caught trying to break into a locked property never tends to go down too well. Apex Legends’ Vaults currently take three seconds to unlock with a Vault Key. However, some players believe Crypto should be able to utilize a similar method when hacking into these secure safes. “[Lockpicking] should be exclusive to Loba and Crypto, but it would take twice as long as just using the Vault Key,” says TheMP8. One player even noted how the fail state could even spawn a bunch of stalkers from Titanfall 2 spawn. One false move and a horde of killer robots would swarm the hacker and their team. Of course, this idea was also met with its fair share of criticism. “Cool idea, but if a certain Legend could just pick [the Vault] and open it up for his whole squad, finding Vault Keys would be essentially useless,” says WuTangRonin. “Anytime World’s Edge came into rotation, that specific Legend would be picked more than most… Maybe have it be an item you have to find, similar to a key?” It’s certainly true that this Crypto buff could drastically impact the Legend meta, so some players suggested that the Vault Keys be replaced with the Data Knife. This multipurpose item was used by Pilots in the Titanfall series and enabled players to hack into Spectres, Turrets, and computer terminals. “Maybe make a puzzle that all Recon characters have to solve using a Data Knife,” says turbopop1. It’s certainly an interesting idea and one that many fans would be curious to see implemented into the game. For now, though, you’ll need to enter the Vault the old-fashioned way.

  • Apex Legends concept for new Legend inspired by Titanfall campaign – Dexerto

Apex Legends concept for new Legend inspired by Titanfall campaign Respawn EntertainmentTitanfall and Apex Legends share a lot of similarities in terms of their weapon pool and character abilities, but this Legend concept would see one Titanfall-themed enemy return in a dominant fashion. While Respawn has yet to introduce monolithic mechs into its battle royale title, Apex Legends is no stranger to the world of Titanfall. In fact, many Legends, weapons, and story elements are intrinsically linked to one another. It’s this close relationship that enables both the developers and fans to constantly come up with exciting new material that shakes up the BR. However, one fan has created a Legend concept that would see one of Titanfall’s most lethal enemies return. Unlike the friendly MRVN units that are known for their friendly nature and goodwill, the Spectre model has a completely different purpose. In fact, these robotic soldiers will stop at nothing until their target is eliminated. However, this Legend concept has transformed Titanfall’s Spectre into a deadly time traveler that can manipulate his foes with rift-based abilities. Titanfall Spectre Legend concept Unlike ordinary Spectre units, Ace of Sparks’ concept has an added time travel twist. According to the description, Kronos was assembled as a test pilot for ARES’ Time Gauntlet. However, the experiment went wrong and Kronos was lost in time. After failing his mission and appearing back in the year 2772, Kronos quickly found himself looking for a new purpose. It’s because of this lack of direction that the robotic experiment decided to join the Apex Games. Krono’s abilities can are outlined below: Tactical Ability: Time Dilation Using the prototype Time Gauntlet, Kronos can shift multi-directionally and through doors. Passive Ability: Lazarus While not taking damage, Kronos’ shields and health regenerate to what they were 10-seconds ago. Ultimate Ability: Temporal Rift Kronos places down a device that opens a temporal rift field, speeding up allies and allied projectiles. The ability also slows down enemies and enemy projectiles. Ace of Sparks’ concept is certainly an interesting one and that would likely excite many Titanfall fans. We’d definitely love to see interactions between Pathfinder and Kronos, particularly given how different their personalities would likely be. Whether Respawn has any plans to add any other robotic Legends to Apex in the future remains to be seen, but for now, we’ll just have to look forward to what Ace of Sparks comes up with next.

  • Apex Legends: In-depth comparison of World’s Edge and Kings Canyon – Dexerto

Apex Legends: In-depth comparison of World’s Edge and Kings Canyon RespawnApex Legends Season 3 brings a brand new map to the game, World’s Edge, and players are starting to find the difference between it and the old standby King’s Canyon. King’s Canyon was the original Apex map, and was introduced along with the release of the game in early 2019. With the arrival of Season 3, Apex players got a whole new arena to battle in called World’s Edge. The new map is located on an entirely different planet and as players are discovering, that’s only the beginning of the differences between the two. So, what are the differences? Reddit user Alt_Mayday compiled a number of comparisons made by other Reddit users into one master guide between the two maps. First up is size, and thanks to a comparison made by user SgtKastoR, we can easily see that World’s Edge is 150% the size of King’s Canyon. According to Alt_Mayday, King’s Canyon has 19 points of interest – areas with their own names on the map – compared to only 15 on World’s Edge. Furthermore, they also found that these points are generally closer together on King’s Canyon then they are on World’s Edge, which makes sense since the Canyon is smaller, with more points on it. That means it also takes longer to make it between points on World’s Edge (20-40 seconds) than it does on King’s Canyon (10-20 seconds) according to Alt_Mayday. Both maps have ample “empty areas” – parts of the map with no structures on them – but since World’s Edge is larger, it makes sense that it’s empty areas are about 15% bigger than those in King’s Canyon. King’s Canyon, even though it’s smaller, has 14 balloons spread throughout the map compared to only 15 on World’s Edge. The new map does have a train running around it though, which allows players even more mobility (and fun) than the balloons usually do. So now that we know the differences between the two maps, one important question remains: Which map is better/more fun to play on? Since the answer probably depends on players personal opinions, we may never know the answer.

  • Apex Legends community want these loot upgrades for the next Battle Pass – Dexerto

Apex Legends community want these loot upgrades for the next Battle Pass Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends Battle Pass has historically been a point of contention with the community, and a few upgrades for the Season 5 pass could give it some improvements. The disproportion between the amount of skins, charms, banner poses, audio quips, etc. to unlock and the amount of opportunities to actually get them via the Battle Pass can be improved, according to an Apex subreddit post with over 1K upvotes at the time of writing. While there are ways to acquire more Loot Ticks other than the Battle Pass, some feel that there needs to be a healthier number of them made available as you progress through the season’s rewards. Moreover, increasing the chances for the variety of loot in them can help fill out some of the items and skins that players have yet to collect. “Right now, we get 12 Loot Ticks per Battle Pass,” Reddit user ‘Narukami_7’ explained. “Five of them being on the free side. That leaves seven Loot Ticks in a paid Battle Pass; one of them is Legendary (sweet) and another one is Epic, which is also cool. At the rate items and Legends are introduced, the loot pool becomes almost gargantuan.” It also doesn’t help that the voice lines and Legends stats help make the chances of scoring something good feel “suffocated” with all of the types of loot, according to Narukami_7. The user also pointed out how naturally leveling up to the 500 cap will make earning any Loot Tick much more “scarce, and the grinding will begin to feel unsatisfying.” This will, in turn, make the chances of scoring something good in the Loot Tick that much more unnerving, if a hard fought chance to earn something good turns into a pack filled with voice lines and another Mozambique skin. To help out the situation, the Apex Legends Season 5 Battle Pass could be structured to offer more ways of earning Loot Ticks. Narukami_7 came to a solution: “Doubling the amount of Loot Ticks on the BP will make a huge difference and will keep people motivated in hopes of getting something cool, and maybe work their way (and the numbers) to that sweet first heirloom.” The Apex Legends community wouldn’t mind seeing an increase to the amount of Loot Ticks they can earn, while also getting a better variety of items that come in them and the chances to acquire rare loot in Season 5.

  • Apex Legends community upset with lack of fan-favorite mode – Dexerto

Apex Legends community upset with lack of fan-favorite mode Apex Legends on XFans of Apex Legends are not happy that Respawn hasn’t brought back the beloved Winter Express mode to the popular battle royale. For years, Respawn has released the game mode for a limited time during the holiday season, and it has become a fan-favorite event in Apex Legends. However, halfway through the month of December, there has been no sign or mention of the game mode returning. Fans are not happy with this missing mode and are expressing their frustration online. Apex Legends fans are voicing their displeasure with Respawn Players are taking to social media to voice how they are not only disappointed with Winter Express being missing, but that they are also upset with the game as a whole. In a Reddit post titled “No winter express is the last straw”, with the author of the post making their feelings clear: “I think my long journey of 3000+ hours on apex legends has come to an end with this season.” They are certainly not mincing their words, and many commenters are agreeing the original poster’s sentiment about Apex Legends being a, “steaming turd of a game.” On the other side, there are plenty of players who don’t mind that Winter Express hasn’t been added, saying: “Classic yearly cycle of People not wanting another year of recycled LTM and then complaing when Respawn doesn’t recycle LTM.” Others have given a more straightforward response: “Bye, Felicia.” There are still 13 days left until Christmas, which means the mode can still come out in time for the holiday. However, it is clear that this is the boiling point for many players who have had issues for awhile. That said, the Three Strikes Limited Time Mode was brought back due to player demand recently, and there are other LTMs that have been well-received recently. There is still plenty to look forward for those who stay as well, as the game has a surprise collaboration with Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth early next year.

  • Apex Legends community tormented by new error code – Dexerto

Apex Legends community tormented by new error code Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends community have been running into a new error code preventing people from jumping into games as more players are reporting the problem. One of the most frustrating aspects of Respawn Entertainment’s popular battle royale are the unceremonious disconnects that can easily ruin the player experience even before a game starts. In the past, notorious error codes such as the ever present “Code:Leaf” have plagued the community, just to be followed up weeks later by a surprising appearance of yet another problematic trend in the “code:wheel” fiasco. Apex Legends error code trilogy: Leaf, Wheel, Gnut Though both problems have been on a major decline since first appearing, it looks like Apex Legends players are looking at the start of a troubling trend possibly making its way to the Respawn Entertainment servers. There have already been multiple instances of players trying to drop into King’s Canyon only to be met with a frustrating new message: “There was a problem processing game logic. Please try again. Sh_battlepass.gnut.” Players are now seeing that the code can appear for a myriad of situations when trying to load up a match, with one user saying: “Ah man this happened to me. We got the dreaded BATTLEPASS GNUT” 600Another instance shows the same “gnut” keyword for the error, but it follows other elements such as “mp/sh_bleedout.gnut.” At the time of writing, there is no indication on what could be causing the problem. But with more and more players reporting the issue, it’s bound to get the attention of Respawn Entertainment soon if it hasn’t already. 600In the past, Respawn Entertainment’s devs worked tirelessly to resolve the near constant problems of the Leaf and Wheel debacles that were continuously annoying players. Code:leaf actually proved to be a large for the devs and code:wheel wasn’t much better for the devs. Now with a new problem on the rise, the devs will be pretty busy trying to get a handle on the various issues. While there have been various major bugs in Apex Legends since its launch, the devs have been a resilient bunch in trying to create solutions for the problems that routinely appear.

  • Apex Legends community stunned after player uses cheat to wipe out lobby – Dexerto

Apex Legends community stunned after player uses cheat to wipe out lobby Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player is reportedly crashing entire lobbies so that they can just mop up all of the characters standing idle due to disconnections, and no one is sure how they’re actually doing it. Cheaters in Apex typically prefer ruining games with aim botting for automatic hit scans or speed hacks to evade, kill, and escape in the blink of an eye. But one player has found a way to make everyone in their game completely vulnerable by kicking them out of the match completely. The prevailing theory is that they figured out a way to exploit the game’s recently-introduced reconnect feature while also making use of a crash bug. This lets them roam around the Arena while everyone else is stuck trying to reconnect to the game where they might already be eliminated. “Apex Legends currently has a feature that allows players to reconnect to their session if their game disconnects or the server has an unexpected error,” user ‘jacklollz2 explained. “This person is exploiting this mechanic, and also exploiting a crash bug, to be able to freely kill people… One thing is for sure: The server instance is being killed, and the exploiter is rejoining into a new instance.” A video posted by Redditor ‘halo_shot’ shows a player on Xbox shooting at targets across Kings Canyon. But it’s an eerie sight since all of the players except for the apparent cheater are completely frozen. Read more: How to stop Loba’s teleport in Apex Legends – “US servers, it doesn’t just freeze you, it kicks you out of the game and you get reconnected when you get back to the lobby screen,” the user said of their encounter with the cheater. Toxic Nox Gas from Caustic’s traps and weapon fire all tick away at the still opponents, but they aren’t responsive in the slightest. They can be seen doing this across clips from multiple games of Ranked Apex, even in higher elo matches in Master tier. Apex Legends community members are already reporting this to the Respawn Entertainment developers to find and fix the reason for this hack so prevent cheaters from continuing to exploit it.

  • Apex Legends community slams “toxic” players for in-game SBMM protests – Dexerto

Apex Legends community slams “toxic” players for in-game SBMM protests Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends community are firing back at people “protesting” skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) in Apex Legends, referring to the in-game actions as more disruptive than the divisive playlist feature itself. There are reportedly clips of players refusing to revive downed ‘random’ teammates – a move that’s being touted as a show of solidarity that the player base doesn’t want SBMM in the game. It’s true that SBMM has been a contentious topic in the Apex community. In the past, pros, content creators, and casual players have given strongly worded messages to the devs to take out the feature. REMINDER: let’s continue supporting the in-game protest against SBMM ❌ Refuse to revive or respawn ANY random teammates until this unplayable form of skill-based matchmaking in ‘Play Apex’ is addressed / removed ❌ Let your voices be heard! — The SBMM Connoisseur (@Apex_Latest) May 9, 2020 But a portion of disgruntled players are now opting to show Respawn how they feel about SBMM by refusing to cooperate with their matchmade team. “Refuse to revive or respawn ANY random teammates until this unplayable form of skill-based matchmaking in ‘Play Apex’ is addressed / removed,” Twitter user ‘Apex_latest’ said while playing a video of instances where players weren’t reviving their teammates. Though people resonate with the frustration of SBMM in the casual playlists, the overwhelming response to the movement slammed the idea of these protests as being more toxic. I’m gonna assume y’all have seen this guy around encouraging players to not revive downed teammates in a protest against SBMM. People are actually falling for this shit. If you’re one of these people, please, don’t do this. You’re just ruining the game for everyone, you won’t get rid of SBMM this way byu/Ya-Dank-Boi inapexlegends “That’s toxic as hell. I want SBMM gone too but this is not the way to do it,” user ‘skepticalmonique’ said. Others questioned the reasoning of these kinds of protests since it detracts from providing positive outcomes to Apex Legends. “I would say I’m good at Apex, on good matches I get like five to seven kills on average,” user ‘A-Zebra’ said. “But that does not mean I don’t still get knocked, that’s why I always immediately revive someone when they get knocked, sometimes you get teammates on a bad game, but shouldn’t fault someone for that, this is disgusting and toxic.” These kinds of community outbursts could actually help stave off meaningful changes since it presents another more pressing matter that Respawn has to come in and address. Respawn have routinely boasted about the amounts of problematic hackers they’ve ousted from their servers. SBMM protesters might not get a similar ban, the devs would have to create, develop, and execute a worthwhile penalty for disruptive players, all the same. This would naturally delay any sort of SBMM fix that the movement is looking for in the first place, and more players are voicing their disapproval with Apex Legends players that take part in it.

  • Apex Legends community rallies behind creative badge tier concepts – Dexerto

Apex Legends community rallies behind creative badge tier concepts Respawn EntertainmentLooking to build upon the current unlockables in Apex Legends, this unique concept ramps up the challenge to collect the highest-tiered badges in the popular battle royale title. February 4 marked the surprise release of Apex Legends in 2019. Rapidly approaching the end of the first year of Respawn Entertainment’s popular free-to-play title, it seems as though avid players are hungry for new challenges. Having been able to grind and unlock a majority of the badges currently in the game, a unique concept looks to cater to the most dedicated players around the world and provide a true end-game challenge. While there are plenty of badges to currently grind for in Apex Legends, only a select few come with multiple tiers to unlock. From the Assassin challenge to the limited time Fight or Fright badge, there are a number of unique tasks that can be tackled quickly for the first tier, or gradually chipped away at for the higher tiers. However, the large majority of badges in the Battle Royale are singular, offering only one unique objective and providing a lone vanity item upon completion. Looking to overhaul many of the unlockables with more difficult challenges, Reddit user ‘psygaud’ recently showcased five unique badges that they would change. Expressing that “a lot of the original badges with only one tier are easy to get in a month or so,” they created their own concept art and expanded on the badges to show just how Respawn could challenge even veteran players. “It would be nice to have a way to show if you play a lot of different legends consistently, or that you are a team player,” they elaborated, pleading for new ways to showcase their unique commitment to certain playstyles. Starting out with a more basic challenge that can apply to all Legends in the game, they showed an upgraded ‘Hot Streak’ badge. Currently set to two wins in a row, the new tiers on display would allow players to flex a whopping 10 game-winning streak with each character. If you’re more of a completionist, one of the most time-consuming badges to acquire would be the proposed tier-IV unlock for the ‘Well-Rounded’ badge. Currently capped at 20,000 damage on eight different Legends, the highest tier in this concept would require players to reach 200,000 with eight unique characters instead. While a number of these new challenges would likely never be feasible for more casual players, hopping into a lobby and spotting a veteran with the highest tier unlock is sure to be impressive. With the second year of Apex Legends right around the corner, and Season 4 expected to release on the anniversary, perhaps a number of new badges are on the way, each with their own higher-tiered unlocks for the most dedicated players out there.

  • Apex Legends community outraged after Twitch streamer berates his wife while live – Dexerto

Apex Legends community outraged after Twitch streamer berates his wife while live Twitch: MrsGlockoamaThe Apex Legends community is up in arms after seeing a Twitch streamer lose control and yell at his wife on stream while blaming her for getting them eliminated in a ranked match. Intense emotional reactions are locked into the online gaming experience. While everyone can attest to getting heated in certain moments, the ability to leave that behind and move on once the game ends is invaluable. While streamers like xQc have built entire careers on the entertainment value of losing their minds, there’s a dark side to Twitch of streamers who don’t know where to draw the line. officialgLockoma is an example of that. After blaming his wife for getting them eliminated in an Apex Legends duo stack, he lashed out at her on stream. The footage has taken the internet by storm, with viewers on Twitch and Reddit expressing their concerns. As a warning: the footage is deeply upsetting. It shows the husband cussing at his wife while blaming her for any problems they’ve encountered in-game, while also making broadly sexist claims about women in gaming. “This is part of why women have such trouble in games. Your mentality is based on emotions,” he says at one point. He also berated her over for supposedly placing traps incorrectly, and threatened to leave her if she continues. The incident takes an even darker turn after the streamer tells chat that his wife picks at her knuckles “until she bleeds” due to stress, seemingly oblivious to the possibility that his behaviour could be contributing to that. Naturally, people were outraged over the incident. It drew hundreds of comments on social media, with countless players expressing their concerns. “Domestic abuse situation. English isn’t her first language. It’s like a horror movie,” wrote one user. Another user pointed out that it doesn’t seem to be an isolated incident. “You can go to any of his recent VODs and just skim through to see these arguments happen often throughout his whole stream,” they said. “Very sad!” What’s more, the Twitter account of the woman in the video is filled with a series of self-blaming tweets stating things like “it’s all my fault” and “I have shown so much ego and attitude,” which has sparked even more concern.

  • Apex Legends community wants an ‘Honor System’ that will reward players for good behavior – Dexerto

Apex Legends community wants an ‘Honor System’ that will reward players for good behavior Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has some of the most intense team firefights in the battle royale genre, and some of the community thinks it’s high time to introduce an Honor System for decorating good players with some love. Respawn Entertainment landed with a hit when they launched Apex Legends on February 4, and even though the title has been experiencing its fair share of problems, its community is looking for ways to improve the user experience. In a Reddit post, user ‘johnruby’ gave his take on the lackluster incentives the game gives out to players for doing their part in a team, and said it was sorely missing worthwhile rewards for the community to gain. 600“There’s not enough reward for cooperative or friendly players IMHO,” johnruby said. “Currently the only reward for being cooperative/friendly is slightly increasing win rate (insignificant), gaining bonus XP from reviving teammates (insignificant), and gaining the badge “No One Left Behind” by reviving teammates (which is great but a single-level badge is still insignificant).” To give Apex Legends a fresh new layer of player rewards, the Redditor suggested giving out “honor points” for players to earn by getting voted “Cooperative” or “Friendly” by teammates when a game is finished. After collecting sufficient honor points, they could be spent on “honor rewards” such as Bonus Battle Pass exp, Legends tokens, special skins or banners, and more. 600A positive change for the Apex Legends community While it goes without say that players should always do their best to help their teammates win out in King’s Canyon, not everyone in the community makes it easy for the rest of their squad. Even though Respawn Entertainment has a forgiving respawn system in their game, there are a lot of players that routinely disconnect from the match moments after dying. Read more: Apex Legends devs promise fix for infuriating hit registration bug after discovering cause – Similarly it could give players who revive teammates, instead of waiting for them to die to get their loot, a larger goal of being helpful rather than a detriment to a squad. An honor system in Apex Legends could see a change in how some players approach the battle royale, and johnruby believes “the player base can become better with a proper incentivizing system!”

  • Apex Legends community frustrated with increasing server shutdown errors – Dexerto

Apex Legends community frustrated with increasing server shutdown errors Respawn EntertainmentCommunity members are noticing a spike in server shutdowns across Apex Legends that are abruptly ending matches – and in some cases, ruining game-winning scenarios. Following the recent launch of Season 4, players are noticing a rise in server shutdown errors even when they’re not suffering from any noticeable lag or connection issues that precede their match crashing. Instead, these shutdowns seem to be happening at random, which is starting to frustrate some players, especially when the issue flairs up in Ranked Play, derailing important matches. In more than one instance, players have recorded clips of their gameplay to show how the glitch can come up without warning. Reddit user ‘Switsphotos’ was just a few shots away from collecting a win when the error hit. The game was down to the last two squads, and they had just downed a Lifeline with Octane about to be dead in his tracks when the game disconnected. These kinds of issues are making some players hesitant to get into a Ranked games at all since they don’t want anything to affect their climb in Season 4. “Freezes in selection screen, 5 min queue blocked -> code net, 10 min queue blocked, I’m literally just in normals now, I refuse to risk playing Ranked,” one user said about the issues. Some players have already come across the error during their Ranked games, like Reddit user ‘AfroArabBliss,’ who was also down to the last two squads in their game when the glitch hit. Fortunately, the user reported that there wasn’t any negative effect to their Rank, in fact, the game had even given them RP even though the match didn’t formally end. “It gave us RP,” AfroArabBliss explained when asked about the effects to his Rank points. “Nothing about loss forgiveness. It didn’t count as an abandon so that was good.” This isn’t the only connectivity issue that’s been causing problems in Season 4. Across multiple platforms, Apex Legends has been hit with worsening conditions to its online ecosystem, with console players reporting “unplayable” console lag and freezing. It seems like Respawn Entertainment have a few things to fix with their games, so players should expect some news on that front in the near future as the devs get a handle on the situation.

  • Apex Legends community find perfect way to punish “dashboarding” players – Dexerto

Apex Legends community find perfect way to punish “dashboarding” players Respawn EntertainmentFor a while now, Apex Legends players have been expressing their discontent with frequent “dashboarders” in their matches, leading some to think of ways Respawn could punish them for using the exploit. “Judgement day” is coming for Apex Legends players who have been “dashboarding” in Apex Legends, but without a concrete punishment set for the cheaters, community members are thinking up of suitable ways to mark their misdeeds. Dashboarding is a loophole of sorts for players who want to avoid the penalties that come from losing in Ranked games. If the game is too hard or they find themselves in a winless scenario they just abandon the game and they escape losing Rank positioning. hey, no need to report it manually, we can see it on our end. Judgment Day will be coming 🙂 — Eric Hewitt / Ghost (@GH057ayame) January 7, 2020 Players should be aware, however, that doing so will get their accounts flagged by Respawn. Senior Systems Designer Eric Hewitt said that “dashboarders” don’t need to be reported since Respawn can “see it on [their] end” for who used the cheat. With an imminent punishment coming for those players, others are drumming up ideas for the devs to potentially use. Reddit user ‘182ways’ had an inventive way to literally flag the cheaters. They think that players found dashboarding should get a “Flag of Shame strapped to their Legend’s back.” A scarlet letter of sorts, if you will. That would be a pretty distinct way of branding the exploit-users, but it does have a couple of issues. User ‘Liath_TheBlue’ looked to be onto something when they said that “some people would dashboard just to have the flag.” There will always be completionists in every game, so there could be perfectly honorable players using the cheat at least once to get access to the piece of Apex content. Meanwhile, other players wanted a more direct form of discipline to get it over with instead of prolonging the punishment. Comment byu/182ways from discussion inapexlegends “It’s a video game, just like the dashboarders shouldn’t care so much about the rewards to dashboard, you shouldn’t care so much to do this to people,” user ‘canadian15’ said. “Give them a rank reset, patch the ability to dashboard and move on.” In either case, players are eager to see what Respawn decide to do about the wave of “dashboarders” that have been cropping up in the Apex Games.

  • Apex Legends community explains how to “correctly” play Bloodhound – Dexerto

Apex Legends community explains how to “correctly” play Bloodhound Bloodhound is an enigma both in Apex Legends’ lore and with people confused on how to best utilize the character, leading some players to finally set the record straight. In Respawn Entertainment’s growing cast of competitors, there are only two types of Recon Legends as of October 24 in the form of Bloodhound and Crypto, who made his appearance with the Season 3 update. Ever since the Surveillance Expert and his aerial drone made their way to the Apex Games, people have been underestimating Bloodhound’s straightforward approach to tracking – which definitely shouldn’t be underestimated. In trying to show the Apex Legends community how to “correctly” play as the Technological Tracker, Reddit user ‘lessenizer’ explained how to best use the character’s ability kit. “You passively detect footprints,” they said, explaining how to work with Bloodhound’sTracker passive. “This means you can roam across the map (ideally from outside the ring towards the ring so you’re behind people) and have a pretty good chance of knowing in advance whether you’re walking into an occupied area.” The user had a pretty common theme throughout their guide, basically telling players they should be aggressive with Bloodhound’s moves to force the issue to catch opponents unaware. Even more Bloodhound mains started chipping in with their advice, enlightening users about the best ways to use the Ultimate Ability: Beast of the Hunt. “Your ult is your bread and butter,” user SliccDaddi17 said. “It should mainly be used to go in for the kill but it will save your ass if you have to get in the ring quick or cover large portions of open ground.” They also noted how weaving through cover while sliding under the ult’s influence makes Bloodhound “impossible to hit.” With that in mind, players should let another teammate engage a fight while using Bloodhound’s abilities to take advantage of the chaos. “DON’T GO IN FIRST,” Slicc said. “Let a Wraith/Pathfinder do that. As soon as your teammates engage, scan the area and go in for the flank.” A lot of players have been using Bloodhound’s move either defensively or without a plan of attack. But letting teammates know beforehand that they’ll be a secondary engage, can lead to quick clean ups and easy eliminations.

  • Apex Legends community turn dev’s “freeloader” comment into rallying cry – Dexerto

Apex Legends community turn dev’s “freeloader” comment into rallying cry Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends community aren’t letting EA and Respawn Entertainment forget about the “freeloader” blunder the companies created amid Iron Crown’s monetization backlash. Respawn Entertainment found themselves in a tricky spot when they addressed their fans about the wild prices and monetization structure that was implemented in the new Apex Legends Season 2 event. While answering community questions, the Respawn team got a little too candid for their fan’s liking when developer Drew McCoy called some players “freeloaders” and “ass-hats” amid the waves of resentment toward new pricing models that made things like Iron Crown Apex Packs cost $7 each. Matters weren’t made any better for the community who feel that they’ve been slighted for being loyal to the battle royale. “You committed the ultimate cardinal sin, you got personal,” one user noted. “We won’t forget this. You’ve set a new tone for the kind of interaction we’ll be having with you. It’s a cold one. One where there aren’t any illusions about the reality of the situation. Previous notions of ‘family’ are dead. We are mere consumers to you, and that is obvious.” Since then the Apex Legends community are using the Respawn team’s questionable choice of words against them with a flurry of new memes and titles to don in the aftermath of their PR ordeal. One user created a simple mock-up for a graphic T-shirt with “Freeloader here Level 3” inscribed on across the chest. The line is a play off an in-game voiceline when players ping the location of a level 3 item in the map. It looks like the community would be letting Respawn Entertainment actively know where their “freeloaders” are with the design. The online sub-forums of Reddit allow for users to equip ‘flairs’ to their names so they could rep different names. People quickly started to tag themselves as “freeloaders” before a moderator apparently disabled the tag. Furthermore, Apex Legends community members have long been creating their own characters that could be a great addition to the game. Well another user made a mockup of the character select screen with a look into a new Legend named “Freeloader,” pictured with the griefer from South Park’s Make Love not Warcraft episode. It’s going to be interesting to see how EA and Respawn Entertainment decide to make up for lost ground in this PR flub since it doesn’t look like the players are going to be easily swayed anytime soon.

  • Apex Legends community calls for ALGS Championship boycott as #LetThemPlay trends – Dexerto

Apex Legends community calls for ALGS Championship boycott as #LetThemPlay trends ALGSThe Apex Legends Global Series’ Championship event wrapped up on July 10, but the community has criticized organizers, after several players were barred from the competition for reasons outside of their control. Esports tournaments of all kinds have been brought low by the pressures of the current world health situation, and the ALGS is feeling that weight now. Several teams were already being forced to play with last minute subs because of these precautions, but on the final day of the event, pro players Hiarka and JMW were removed from their lineup and offered no alternative method to compete. Once the news began to spread, the Apex community at large rallied around the duo and encouraged other players to force EA’s hand by opting not compete. Why the Apex Legends community is calling for EA to #LetThemPlay It started when Portugese pro Hiarka announced on Twitter that he was being removed from the competition due to a positive test. .@PlayApexEsports you could let me and jmw play in a room isolated but no instead its easier to make people play with subs and managers for the biggest tourney of the year — AYM Hiarka 🛫🇺🇸 (@HiarkaYeahh) July 10, 2022 “You could let me and jmw play in a room isolated, but no, instead it’s easier to make people play with subs and managers for the biggest tourney of the year,” he suggested to the ALGS team. From there, fans began to formulate the plot to delay the competition, and it wasn’t long before the biggest names in the space took notice and joined in to help spread the word. NICKMERCS was one of the first to speak up, saying that he believes that everyone should have their peers’ back in this situation: “If nobody plays, they have no choice.” I think the only way y’all get it done is by sticking together. If nobody plays, they have no choice. But that’s pretty brolic. 🤷🏻♂️ — FaZe Nickmercs (@NICKMERCS) July 10, 2022 iiTzTimmy also shared in the cause, and reinforced the notion that everyone will have to unite for this plan to make a difference. “The community has to work together here,” he said. Only way to get them to play is if everyone refuses to play. No players. No Tournament. The community has to work together here. #LetThemPlay @PlayApexEsports https://t.co/htEd5OEKX6 — Timmy (@iiTzTimmy) July 10, 2022 In the end, the finals went ahead with no boycott, as DarkZero won out in the end. EA and did not responded to the criticism, beyond a post on the second day of the event where they stated that the health and safety of competitors, staff and fans was the top priority.

  • Apex Legends code 2737 crashes linked to L-Star and Bocek Bow – Dexerto

Apex Legends code 2737 crashes linked to L-Star and Bocek Bow Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are encountering game crashes caused by code 2737, and some believe it could be linked to the L-Star and Bocek Bow. A few recorded instances of the new error code have surfaced online. Although the cause of it is still unclear, people have been noticing that it tends to occur after interacting with a few weapons across different maps. Apex players have been encountering crashes throughout the game, and it’s popping up in more than just the battle royale mode. Even in the Practice Range, players have been able to recreate the bug that lead to the game shutting down on them. “Picking up the L-Star [and] ammo crashes my game,” user ‘kyriega said over on Reddit. “I’ve tested this multiple times and on other energy weapons, since I’ve died to this reason in BR matches for many times now.” Apex Legends code 2373 crash error Even in the Practice Range, Apex crashes as soon as the L-Star is picked up. After a bit of stutters, the game crashes to reveal the following outage: “gamemodes/cl_gamemode_survival.nut. #2737 [Client] division by zero.” While some joked that this was the perfect nerf for the weapon, people noticed that it wasn’t just the L-Star causing the issue. The Bocek Bow is also crashing Apex Legends with the same code, making people wary of using either weapon. User ‘DatBoi_BP’ believed the problem was linked to the game’s servers until they noticed the same error code that popped up with the L-Star also reared its head using the bow. “It happens with the L-star and the bow,” user ‘addymcFaddz’ surmised. “The only explanation for this could be that both guns have 0 ammo when you pick it up while the other guns have 1 full clip in them.” Read more: Who is Maggie in Apex Legends? – Respawn Entertainment haven’t addressed the issue yet but players are hoping for a speedy resolution since it’s causing disruptions in gameplay.

  • Apex Legends vs Call of Duty Blackout – What are the differences? – Dexerto

Apex Legends vs Call of Duty Blackout – What are the differences? Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Here are how the games differ. Apex Legends vs Blackout While Apex Legends was only released a few days ago on February 4, the popularity of the game has made it feel like it has been part of the battle royale scene for much longer. Another recent premium addition to the battle royale market was the much-hyped Call of Duty Blackout. Like Apex Legends, it was received widespread acclaim upon release. Given that their respective releases have been met with much success, there’s likely one question on many players’ minds: what is the difference between the two? Characters (or Legends) Before getting into the mechanics of the game, let’s look at the cosmetics. There are a lot of Blackout characters to choose from. These range from Blackout-based characters to those seen in multiplayer and zombies. One thing all of these have in common is that they are purely cosmetic. None of the characters, other than perhaps being more visible than others, have any attributes that affect gameplay. The legends, the characters in Apex Legends, are in complete contrast to Blackout. The game is based around these legends and they significantly affect gameplay. Each legend has unique abilities (perks for those who talk in CoD lingo). These vary from being able to call in a care package to making a custom zip-line. Read More: Different abilities of Apex Legends – In contrast, Blackout does have perks but these are single-use items that are found looting. Jumping into Battle All battle royale games have some type of mechanic where you drop into the map. H1Z1 would place you in a certain area before you parachute down. PUBG has a plane going over the map on a different angle each game with a simple parachuting drop. Furthermore, Fortnite has the interesting concept of a “battle bus” that you glide out of. Blackout’s attempt at producing a unique dropping experience involves a wingsuit. With several helicopters flying over a particular angle of the map, you drop to the floor using said wingsuit. This allows you to travel large distances with ease or drop straight down quickly. Expanding the dropping process isn’t an easy task. However, Apex Legends has added a couple of new features. Firstly, the squad of three is tied to the “jumpmaster” who controls where you go. There is the option to deviate from this but this requires selecting it. Secondly, players can suggest areas for the jumpmaster to drop, in an effort to add some cohesion between the team. Additionally, there is also a supply ship. This flies above ground and has premium loot. Of course, this comes with the caveat of almost certainly having a lot of competition for it. Nonetheless, it is an interesting addition to the game which adds another dimension of strategy. Map The unnamed Blackout map is a fairly traditional FPS map. It combines open and closed spaces, along with varying types of land. The key locations are based on multiplayer maps from previous Black Ops games. In comparison, the Apex Legends map, named King’s Canyon, is an interesting blend greenery, futuristic structures, and massive hills. The difference in distance between the low and high points of the map adds an interesting dynamic to the game. While the Blackout map is by no means big, it is bigger than King’s Canyon. Player Count However, Apex Legends only has 60 players spawn into the game. This is compared to the traditional 100 of other battle royale games. Consequently, per player, the map feels a similar size to that of Blackout. Modes Currently, probably to the infancy of the release, Apex Legends only has one mode available. Squads comprised of three players drop into the map. Conversely, Blackout has solo, duo and squad modes available. On top of this, single players can participate in duos and squads. Teams of two and three can also compete in squads. Reviving The process and features of reviving a downed teammate can make a big difference to the enjoyment of the game. Apex Legends provides new revive features in an effort to not only make the game different but less frustrating. For example, when a player has been finished off, you can grab their player banner. Take this to one of the many respawn points and your dead teammate will be put back into the game! This potentially removes the frustration of dying early and having to watch the remainder of the game. There is also a knockout down shield that can be used. This is an item found looting which allows you to activate a shield when you’re knocked down. So far it appears to be a welcome addition as it makes it harder for opponents to finish you. Reviving, in general, takes six seconds to do. Compared to other battle royale games, it’s a safer process than most. This is due to the increased health you have in comparison. Blackout also allows quick revives as they take just a few seconds. However, it is far easier to finish a downed opponent. Health In Blackout, you spawn with 150 health. The consumable, single-use trauma kits, boost you to 200. Then, of course, there is the addition of varying levels of armor. The strength, or over-strength, of armor has been well documented in Blackout. This changed the game so much that Treyarch released a patch nerfing the Level 3 variant of armor. Armor plates, a consumable item that repairs armor, were also recently introduced. These were added to the game because a lot of players felt the incentive to camp was too great. Campers would retain the benefit of full armor, while, on the other hand, players getting into lots of gun-battles would lose their armor. Eventually, those who had retained the armor would win the final fight as a result of this. Healing is achieved with either first aid or medkits. They heal 25 and 50 health respectively. Of course, the numbers themselves aren’t comparable to Apex. Full health in Apex Legends is 100. The armor if you will, is added by shields. Even at full health and with a potential 100 health worth of shield, it feels like it requires a lot more shots to kill someone on Apex Legends. This works the other way round too, though. As the game is new and healing is a little more complicated here are the healing items available and what they do. Syringe (bandage) – heals 25 health – Med Kit – heals 100 health – Phoenix Kit – heals 100 health and 100 shield – Shield Cell – restores 25 shield (one bar) – Shield Battery – restore 100 shield (all four bars) – Ultimate Accelerant – restores 20% ultimate energy – Even with Level 3 Blackout armor, health feels more robust in Apex Legends. Guns and Attachments Guns and their shooting mechanics are pretty similar between the two games. Attachments and the process of adding them to a gun are also alike. As of writing, there are 19 guns available on Apex Legends. Comparatively, Blackout has 28 different guns available. It should be noted new guns have been added to Blackout in updates since its release. Furthermore, whereas Blackout has traditional shooting mechanics and bullets, Apex Legends, in comparison, is more Halo-esque. Item Rarity Item rarity also differs between the two games, at least how it’s distinguished. Items are the same color throughout Blackout with the only thing that’s gold being a fully attached gun. In contrast items ranging from body armor to attachments glow different colors in Apex Legends. These different colors not only signify rarity but how good they are in comparison to the same item but in a different color. No colour: common – Blue: rare – Purple: epic – Legendary: gold – Whether players prefer the levels of rarity or the more simplistic Blackout style, is open to debate. Nevertheless, it does add another dimension to the Apex Legends gameplay. This is discussed further in the link above this section. Apex Legends Champion! When entering a Blackout game you have no idea how good the competition is. You could be in a lobby full of pros or noobs! Unless someone is watching you after being eliminated then your kills aren’t apparent either. However, in Apex Legends, much more emphasis is put on the best player, the champion! Before each game starts a champion is named. The champion is the best player from a previous game. This gives you additional incentive to perform well to get your name up in lights. Furthermore, during the game, there are huge banners hanging from various points of the map. These show the players with the most kills. Another reason to feel good about dominating the game!

  • Apex Legends coaches will train you for a price – Dexerto

Apex Legends coaches will train you for a price Getting a coach in Apex Legends might be something you want to consider if you’re considering going pro, or simply want to keep up with your more advanced teammates in the battle royale title. Will a coach really train you to get better at Apex Legends? Having a coach for traditional sports has long been considered a normal thing but now getting an esports coach is becoming more and more mainstream. Games like Apex Legends and Fortnite have opened the door for players to earn money from the comfort of their own home, without even having to spend any money on the game itself. Popular Overwatch streamer and YouTuber TheRealKenzo decided to hire an Apex Legends coach, to help him learn the ropes as he learned how to play Bangalore and Wraith. Read More: Everything we know about leaked Apex Legends character Wattson – release date rumors, abilities and more – Except, he didn’t actually need any help and essentially “smurfed” when he hired a coach so he’d be able to surprise the coach with his strong play out of nowhere. The video documents how a coach might be able to help a completely new player, or even a more experienced player looking to take their game to the next level. TheRealKenzo hired a coach from Fiverr, and was taught a variety of variety for Apex Legends, but the problem was that he already knew how to play the game. Hiring a coach can be very helpful for those looking to take the next step. While Kenzo’s video is pretty humorous, it does showcase a number of ways for players to improve with a coach. How much does an Apex Legends coach cost? The coach offers three separate packages for players to choose from, each more expensive than the last. The ‘Basic’ package gets you one hour of coaching and you will be taught proper rotation techniques and you will have your flaws pointed out. For those who opt for the ‘Standard’ package, you will get two hours of coaching which is basically the same plan as before but no time. The most expensive package, the $40 ‘Premium pack, is three hours of practice which would be led by the player. There are numerous coaches out there so it might be worth taking a look at one if you’re looking to improve your game.

  • Apex Legends coach reveals simple fighting tip to help players climb Ranked – Dexerto

Apex Legends coach reveals simple fighting tip to help players climb Ranked Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends Predator rank player has shared an easy tip that most players can add to their gameplay to win more fights and stay alive longer. Climbing the Apex Legends Ranked ladder is tough. The game has one of the most punishing Ranked systems in all of gaming, so the margins for error exponentially shrink as players approach the top. That’s why when a top-ranked player shares simple tips to win more fights and lose less RP, it’s wise to break out the notebook and pay attention to what they’re saying. Thankfully, District is here to do exactly that, and his advice can be used by players at all ranks. Apex Legends coach shares fighting tip to help Ranked players The tip that District shared is based on peeking and how wide of angle players should take when they’re in an intense fight. Using a loot crate as an example, he demonstrated how much damage players can take in a single second if they poke out too far. To fix this, he recommends using brief peeks to figure out how the enemy is positioned and how they might push you, keeping a very narrow-angle of attack. It takes some getting used to for players who haven’t mastered it yet, as the window of opportunity to counterattack gets dramatically smaller, but it keeps the fighter shielded far better than a wide-swinging into a fight. For anyone that’s struggling to add this kind of depth to their gameplay, the Firing Range is an excellent way to get more comfortable taking this on. Use some rocks or a ramp and practice hitting either the bots or the moving targets up top until it feels comfortable. Doing this can be a major boost to an individual’s survival rate, and if their whole team nails it down, it can completely change their climb to the top.

  • Intense Apex Legends clutch shows best way to use Crypto’s EMP – Dexerto

Intense Apex Legends clutch shows best way to use Crypto’s EMP Respawn EntertainmentCrypto has been giving Apex Legends players new and more intricate styles of gameplay in Season 3, and his EMP Drone makes clutching endgame scenarios much easier. Players have been loving Season 3’s new content since Respawn Entertainment launched Meltdown on October 1, which introduced both a new map and Legend that players are still getting accustomed to. While Crypto’s ability kit has opened up the possibilities on how to navigate tricky situations, the Surveillance Expert’s mobile drone can actually make clutching a game as the last person alive a very real possibility. Going up against two other squads, Reddit user ‘qiktion’ showcased how a bit of patience and good timing with Crypto’s Ultimate Ability can change the tide of a battle. The clip shows the Legend making his way through the outskirts for one of the final rings all by himself. As the player loots up on nearby death boxes, they start to hear a battle raging in the distance between the last two squads. This presented the perfect instance to deploy Crypto’s drone for the player to get a better sense of they were up against. After scanning the battlefield, they saw the remaining teams battered. It’s at this time when the player saw the best opportunity to throw down the Drone EMP to try and debilitate the warring teams. Under the effects of the Drone’s slowing effects, qiktion was able to make quick work out of the players left standing and claim the Champions screen. The user noted how the EMP is “ideal” when the ring is closing, but there are downfalls to look after. “Crypto having the EMP at the end when ring is closing in is ideal,” qiktion said. “I also try to keep in mind that if the drone is destroyed before the emp is triggered it will be a 40 second cooldown.. not nice. I’ve thrown away games by getting the drone destroyed before a big push.” Apex Legends players are still finding out the best ways of using the newest character, but the highlight is a great example of their long-distance capabilities in the latter parts of a match.

  • Apex Legends clues suggest major map changes coming soon – Construction work, Halloween leaks and more – Dexerto

Apex Legends clues suggest major map changes coming soon – Construction work, Halloween leaks and more Graphics: Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment appear to be progressively teasing a major map change in Apex Legends, but not every player will have seen the clues. New additions to the map aren’t subtle by any means, though, and have popped up all over one specific part of Kings Canyon. The developers of the popular battle royale game kicked off Season 2 with a whole host of changes with the Town Takeover update and it appears that a spot near Hydro Dam could well be the next place to be impacted by construction work. So, let’s take a look at the clues that have appeared there. Flags have appeared! As noted, an area near the Hydro Dam location appears to have turned into something that looks like a construction site, with a number of flags being dotted around there. Members of the game’s online community have been speculating about what this could mean, following a post from FrozenFroh to the Apex Legends subreddit that revealed all of their locations. As the map included in the graphic above shows, the part of the map being set up for presumed changes isn’t actually the Hydro Dam itself, but instead a piece of land near it. If players thought that this was just a standalone change to the destination, they couldn’t have been more wrong after another development emerged. Board and signs added Not only have construction flags been added there, but a selection of big board have also appeared, all of which have big warning signs on them. The space appears to be being prepared for some sort of building work, although that is still yet to be confirmed by Respawn. These new warning signs state: “Warning! Stay out,” followed by a short message about the area being under construction. “This is a secured quadrant. Orbitally surveilled. Patrolled by contractors. Violators will be prosecuted.” Halloween event? A Wraith lore, released by Respawn Entertainment on August 28, appears to show that the popular Apex Legends character was once busted out of a highly secure research facility, which is something we could see set up on Kings Canyon at some point in the near future. A leak has also revealed a Frankenstein inspired Gibraltar skin, which could make its way into the battle royale game in the near future, and certainly adds weight to theories that Respawn are building towards some type of Halloween event for the character – potentially bringing some map changes as well. Whether this comes to fruition or not remains to be seen, but the clues are certainly stacking up and it feels like it’s only a matter of time before the game’s developers shuffle the pack again with some exciting new content. • Apex Legends clue suggests Bangalore’s brother is the new Legend – Dexerto

Apex Legends clue suggests Bangalore’s brother is the new Legend Respawn EntertainmentA clue from the Korean version of Apex Legends may have revealed that Newcastle is Bangalore’s brother, Jackson. With Apex Legends Season 13 on the horizon, Respawn finally added a set of teasers into the game that indirectly confirmed that Newcastle is the next new Legend. Although a set of major leaks back in March gave the community a rough idea of what abilities he’s going to have at release, very little is known about his personality. Well, that was until a clue was discovered in the Korean version of Apex that suggests Newcastle is Bangalore’s brother, Jackson. Is Newcastle Bangalore’s brother Jackson? While playing on the Korean version of Apex, Twitter user locojung522 noticed something extremely interesting while completing the Jackson Bow Challenge in the Firing Range. During the story event, the subtitles for the male voice refer to Newcastle while playing a piece of audio from Jackson. In the line after this is triggered, Bangalore even calls out her brother’s name in response: “Jackson! Hold on tight”. Although this could be a mistake, it’s likely deliberate given the recent focus on Bangalore and the devs tendacies to drop hints ahead of a new seasonal update. https://twitter.com/locojung522/status/1512390671692283904 If Newcastle is Jackson, we already know a lot about his backstory and lore thanks to the Gridiron Story from the Outlands that released back in January. With her brother potentially arriving in the Outlands it would make sense for Respawn to flesh out her character and hide a secret clue in the subtitles. Now Defiance is entering its final stages, it’s less than a month before Season 13 goes live, so the community won’t have too long to wait before they find out the truth.

  • Apex Legends clip shows how overpowered Strikepacks are for controller players – Dexerto

Apex Legends clip shows how overpowered Strikepacks are for controller players Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends clip has showcased how overpowered Strikepacks are when using single fire on certain weapons like the R301, Hemlok, and G7 Scout. While the Apex community has been enjoying all the major additions that arrived with the Season 10 update, there are concerns among players about the use of controller mods or Strikepacks in normal matches. Although they do not fall under the category of cheats or hacks, they are an external device that connects to a controller and allows players to rapidly shoot single fire weapons. Of course, as these single-fire guns are not designed to be used with a full-auto fire rate, they do a significant amount more damage than a standard AR or SMG. This has sparked a debate over whether Respawn should take a stand against these kinds of devices for casual play, so everyone is on a level playing field. Apex Legends player gets instantly taken down by Strikepack user While playing Apex Legends on August 25, Reddit user albertobbg was instantly downed by a player using an R301. After watching the clip back, they realized they had been downed incredibly quickly and the gunfire sounded rather strange. It was at this point that albertobbg noticed that the opponent was using the R301 in single fire mode but somehow it was operating as a full-auto weapon. Users in the thread came to the conclusion that the enemy player had a Strikpack attached to their controller. This explains why they were able to abuse the single-fire of the R301 to significantly increase their TTK. As Strikepack’s are an external device, it’s incredibly hard for Respawn to take any action against players using them in casual games. While the devs have banned Strikepacks in this year’s ALGS, meaning pros can no longer use the devices on a controller, a lot of the community believe anyone using one should be punished. Ultimately, they offer players an unfair advantage as single fire weapons do significantly more damage than those that are set to full-auto. Now Respawn has taken a stance against the pros, it’ll be interesting to see if they decide it’s finally time to ban them as a whole.

  • Apex Legends clip proves shotgun crosshairs are lying to you – Dexerto

Apex Legends clip proves shotgun crosshairs are lying to you Respawn EntertainmentShotguns in Apex Legends can be very effective, but it can often feel like they aren’t very accurate. As it turns out, the crosshairs don’t accurately show where shots are going to land. Shotguns are a staple weapon class in Apex Legends, with many of them being the absolute best option in close-range fights. In capable hands, shotguns make 1v3s look easy. However, it can be easy to feel like shotguns are missing their target despite them being in your crosshair. As it turns out, the hipfire crosshairs for most shotguns don’t give a good idea of where shots may land. Apex Legends shotguns are deceptively (in)accurate In a reddit clip posted by bpgodinho, this user shows off just how different the shotgun reticles are from the actual pellet spread. Even at max range where shotguns should have the most spread, the outer parts of the reticle don’t match the outer range of the pellet spread. What’s going on here? Getting to the bottom of things Shotguns in Apex Legends have a variety of pellet spreads, and no one shotgun feels alike. While the Mastiff’s horizontal spread is a bit more apparent than the other 3 shotguns, they all have their unique and consistent spreads. The Mozam shoots 3 pellets in a triangle shape, the Peacekeeper has a star pattern, and the EVA has a pattern sort of like 2 ovals stacked on top of each other. These patterns are always the same for these weapons. What’s more, the pellet indicators on screen are also misleading. It registers were pellets hit before recoil, which is why the Mozambique and Peacekeeper’s bullet spreads are so far off the reticle. When shotgun shots deviate in Apex Legends, pellets don’t just go every which way like, say, Call of Duty. Rather, the entire pellet pattern deviates from the center in a uniform spread. This is why a fully charged Peacekeeper shot is so accurate at range, or why the Mozambique does well scoped in. These patterns are always the same. So, the reason why shotgun crosshairs are misleading is because shotguns in Apex Legends are very consistent and accurate. Almost too accurate, to the point where the in-game crosshairs don’t represent their spreads very well.

  • Apex Legends: Clever Wraith trick helps players escape from Arc Stars – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Clever Wraith trick helps players escape from Arc Stars Respawn EntertainmentArc Stars can be a dangerous weapon when used in Apex Legends, but clever Wraith players have found a way to escape the item’s explosive consequences by using one of the character’s abilities. The Arc Star is unlike the frag or thermite grenades, in that when a player throws the item, it will stick into whatever it connects with, whether that’s the ground, a wall, or if you have particularly good aim, an opposing player. Once the Arc Star is embedded in your character, that is likely the end of your game, or at least it’s going to do a lot of damage, but clever Wraith players have found a way to escape the throwable item without suffering the wraith of the explosive which detonates. In a clip uploaded to Reddit by /u/tiltdodge, the Apex Legends player managed to throw an Arc Star, connecting with an opposing Wraith, who appeared to have no way out of the dire situation. The enemy had a different idea though. Quickly utilizing her Into the Void tactical ability, which allows her to “reposition quickly through the safety of void space,” the player managed to avoid taking any damage at all, much to the astonishment of the Legend who had thrown it. They could only watch in shock as the Arc Star popped out of the Wraith, onto the ground, and explode, with the enemy repositioned without a scratch. While /u/tiltdodge believes it may be a glitch of some sort, many in the comments think it’s likely just an intended feature, and that by making the play, the Wraith used some clever thinking to escape damage. Of course, this move is completely situational, as you must be using the correct legend, and need to be hit by an Arc Star, but it could be a handy tip that may mean the difference between being named Apex Champion, or heading back to the lobby.

Apex Legends classes: All new Legend classes in Season 16 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Season 16, instead of a new Legend altogether, brings a new Legend class system and a whole host of perks. Here’s everything you need to know about the changes. The news that Apex Legends Season 16 won’t feature a new Legend is a departure from the norm for Respawn’s battle royale. Up to now, every new season has brought a brand new character for players to learn and master. Instead, Season 16 will bring major changes to Legend classification, and a new perk system relating to a Legend’s category. Here’s everything to know about the changes. Apex Legends: new Legend classes There will be five new Legend classes introduced with Season 16. Each gives the Legends clearly defined roles in the BR and has its own perk. The five new classes are: Assault – Skirmisher – Recon – Controller – Support – Each Legend will be classified as follows: While there won’t be a new Legend for Season 16, we expect every subsequently added character to slot into one of these five classes. All Legend class perks explained Each class brings with it its own perk – further defining the playstyle of Legends in each class. Every character within a certain class will receive the bonuses that the category’s perk provides. The perks are as follows: Assault: Legends can open a hidden shelf in new Weapon Supply Bins. A smart loot system will provide valuable weapons and upgrades. Assault Legends can also stack an extra piece of Ammo per inventory slot. – Skirmisher: Legends can spot incoming Care Packages at a distance and see the highest value item it contains. They are also able to keep tabs on the revealed weapon and whether it has been equipped by an enemy team. – Recon: Legends no longer have access to ring data, but can scan modified Survey Beacons to reveal enemy locations on the map for 30 seconds. Nearby enemies will be notified of the location of the Beacon being scanned. – Controller: Legends have access to new devices called Ring Console(s), which are located around the map. These devices reveal the next ring location (transferring this ability from Recon Legends to Legends who are designed to rotate early and set up in the new zone). – Support: Legends now have access to a hidden shelf in Extended Supply Bins (the blue bins), which will contain high-value healing and survival items. Support Legends can also craft banners of eliminated teammates at crafting stations for 30 materials, even ones that have expired. – That’s all there is to know about the new Legend classes and perks right now. We’ll be sure to update this page with any information Respawn reveal closer to the Season’s inception or after it has dropped and they look to perfect the balance between classes.

  • Apex Legends player creates powerful new passives for each Legend class – Dexerto

Apex Legends player creates powerful new passives for each Legend class Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has designed a useful Passive for every class so it’s not just Recon characters who have a unique ability. In Apex Legends, characters on the roster are split up into four different class categories based on their powerful abilities. These classes are Offensive, Support, Recon, and Defensive, making it easier for players to identify the strengths of every Legend. Despite this, only Recon characters have a class passive ability, allowing them to scan beacons scattered across the map and identify the next ring location. This is immensely powerful and a lot of Apex players believe every class should have access to a powerful passive. Well, instead of waiting on Respawn to design them, a passionate fan has taken it into their own hands and done it themselves. Apex Legends players want every class to have a Passive ability Posting on the Apex Legends subreddit, user CreamoofMeme420 showcased their Legend class passive designs that aim to add a small boost of power to every legend. Passive abilities to match that of Recon legends have been a heavily-requested feature from the community for a long time, but the devs seem hesitant to add them into the game. Either way, CreamoofMeme420 has put forward a solution and they’re getting a lot of attention. You can check them out below: Assault Perk: Tactikill – Securing a knockdown boosts tactical cooldown (Ash, Fuse, Bangalore, Mad Maggie, Mirage, Revenant) – Mobility Perk: Gunrunner – Can hip-fire while sprinting at the cost of reduced accuracy (Horizon, Octane, Wraith) – Defense Perk: Lockdown – Can stack up to two Ultimate Accelerants per inventory slot (Catalyst, Caustic, Gibraltar, Newcastle, Rampart, Wattson) – Recon Perk: Survey – Scan a survey beacon to reveal the next ring location (Bloodhound, Seer, Crypto, Pathfinder, Valkyrie, Vantage) – Support Perk: Secret Compartment – Granted access to extended supply bins and two survival slot items (Loba, Lifeline) – The reaction from the community has been overwhelmingly positive, the only major criticism has been aimed at the Gunrunner perk. A lot of players are concerned that the “sprint hip fire is just asking for trouble”, especially when applied to legends like Octane and Horizon. Apart from that, the rest seem balanced and would hopefully bridge the gap between Recon characters and the rest of the classes in Apex. Fingers crossed, Respawn see this idea and use it as inspiration as it’s a request that’s mentioned constantly by the community.

  • Apex Legends clamps down on teamers ruining ranked play – Dexerto

Apex Legends clamps down on teamers ruining ranked play Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment have banned top-ranked Apex Legends players on Xbox who were found ‘teaming’ in the competitive playlist, extending the devs’ hard-line approach to cheaters. [jwplayer GCL7xjyu] Teamers have been prevalent in Apex since the game’s launch. While the war against cheaters has been ongoing, Respawn have shown they’re not afraid to swing the ban hammer once reports start to get out of hand. For the people who have poured hundreds of hours into the battle royale to reach some of the highest echelons of the Rank ladder, the devs won’t think twice about banning you if you’re caught obstructing Apex’s competitive integrity. Respawn security team member Conor ‘Hideouts’ Ford has been slamming cheaters of all types with hardware bans, among others, and let over a dozen players know they had their last day on their respective Apex accounts. “To the 14 Xbox players who were teaming in high-level Ranked, I hope your time off is more fulfilling and well spent than what you were doing in Apex lol,” Hideouts said. For those unaware, teaming is the simple act of coordinating with people outside of your squad. While there isn’t any third-party software or extra application in use that cheat detection would pick up, it’s still highly against the framework of a battle royale. People have teamed since the start of the game to complete challenges, unlock prestigious rewards, and secure incredibly easy wins to add to their record. If there was ever a doubt that teaming with your friends would result in a ban, Hideouts and co. spare no bans if they get a report with evidence to the infraction. To the 14 Xbox players who were teaming in high-level Ranked, I hope your time off is more fulfilling and well spent than what you were doing in Apex lol ❤️🔨 — Conor Ford / Hideouts (@RSPN_Hideouts) December 2, 2020 As Season 7 ramps up through its holiday festivities, Respawn have been really keen on cleaning up the game from every kind of cheater under the sun. Whether you’re trying to be slick and get away with some light cheating or broadcasting your errant ways on Twitch, the Apex devs have a pretty solid record of tracking down people violating the rules. As long as Apex Legends has cheaters, the devs will continue to be active in community threads and direct Cheater Report channels to sift out the bad actors.

  • Apex Legends clamps down on “smurfing” in Season 9 with new option to report players – Dexerto

Apex Legends clamps down on “smurfing” in Season 9 with new option to report players Respawn EntertainmentAs Apex Legends Legacy kicks off, Respawn have added a new function to report ‘smurfing’, possibly in an attempt to filter smurfs from full-blown cheaters. Apex Legends Season 9 brings with it a whole host of new content. With new Legend Valkyrie taking to the skies and Olympus infested by some bizarre-looking plants, Legacy promises to be a season that we won’t forget in a hurry. Part of the new update, though, is combatting cheating. One of Apex’s devs confirmed that upgrades were being made to the game’s anti-cheat systems to stamp out illegal player activity. One of the changes already introduced is a new function to report ‘smurfing’ in games. And, it could actually be a big help to stopping cheaters too. New Apex Legends report system If there’s been some foul play in your games, you should go ahead and report the offensive player. When you bring up the “report” menu, there are several options to choose from. The newest of these is “smurfing,” an option that hasn’t existed prior to Season 9. It stands apart from the rest of the options, which focus more on hacking exploits. But, the purpose of this new option may not actually be to clamp down on smurfs, as much as it is to help find real cheaters. Games such as League of Legends have allowed players to report others for smurfing for a long time, freeing up time for reports of physical cheating to be looked at. It’s likely that in the past, when Apex players have suspected smurfs in their game, they may have used the ‘cheating’ option to report them – which might inundate Respawn with reports that don’t actually relate to cheaters. Having smurfing under a separate category will always divide players, especially those who believe that it belongs under the banner of cheating. As for smurfing specifically, it’s unclear what action, if any, will be taken against players using second accounts to play easier opponents. It’s a grey area in many games, and a controversial topic among players too, as some argue there’s nothing wrong with playing on multiple accounts.

  • New Apex Legends support concept would make looting easier for your entire team – Dexerto

New Apex Legends support concept would make looting easier for your entire team Respawn, EAWith the Season 1 Battle Pass right around the corner, Apex Legends fans are coping with the wait by creating character concepts. We know the first season of Apex Legends is set to begin sometime this month but we are still waiting on an official release date. Now that we’re over halfway through the month of March the window for it to release is getting smaller by the day. As fans hunger for information, some of them are taking the extra downtime by designing Legends they think could potentially fit into Apex Legends. Several of these concepts are pretty bad but there is still a handful of them that are pretty could and would work well within the confines of the game. The above concept, uploaded to Reddit from Imgur by user thetruemaddox, takes a look a new Legend concept by the name of Chonk. This Legend would fall into the Support role and would actually make looting a lot easier for himself and the rest of the team. His main power would be the ability to upgrade the rarity of armor which would definitely come in handy as you progress into the game. If you’re a team that doesn’t get a lot of eliminations, then you’re probably going to be stuck with basic armor unless you loot something good, which is where this ability could come in handy. Another way it stands out is Chonk will be able to find extra ammo for your equipped weapon when first looting a deathbox. This would create extra ammo for your whole team which is certainly never a bad thing. On the other hand, someone could pick this character and just troll teammates by breaking down every piece of armor they come across, even if the team needs it. This would definitely be a Legend you’d want to pick with teammates you know since it’d be easier to communicate what you’re doing with them.

  • Every known Apex Legends cheat and how to report someone – Dexerto

Every known Apex Legends cheat and how to report someone Apex Legends has now been out for two weeks. While the release has gone well, there have been the inevitable reports of cheating. Apex Legends Cheats With any major game release, especially a competitive shooter like Apex Legends, cheating is going to be an inevitability. Unfortunately numerous reports and videos have already surfaced highlighting this. The level of cheats vary from extra sensory perception cheats (ESP) to the more blatant aim-bots and wall-hacking. These “additional information” cheats essentially show information that wouldn’t be available without cheating. This includes showing: Player name – Enemy health – Distance away – Well-known and game-ruining cheats are also being sold to players looking to gain an unfair advantage. Among these are the cheats that gamers traditionally associate with cheating. These more advanced cheats, which have already been seen in Apex Legends, include: Radar hack – Aim-bot – Target lock – Adjustable FOV – In addition to this, factors such as bullet drop and bullet speed are calculated within the aimbot to increase the likelihood even further of a kill. Moreover, these cheats can be hidden from the overlay so they can’t be seen when streaming. Reporting Cheaters EA have already been busy with cheaters on Apex Legends. On February 16, EA confirmed that they had already banned 16,000 players. This 16,000 likely doesn’t include other cheaters who have yet to be identified. Consequently, players are not only being urged to report cheaters but are asking how they can do so. As of writing, there is no in-game cheat reporting functionality. Instead, Apex Legends players are being asked to report cheats through the EA website. Within this online form you are asked to enter your player ID. This is to allow EA to analyze log files which presumably will help determine whether cheating occurred. The most important information comes in the “specify your report” box. This will be the place to enter all the information regarding the cheat. As the first box is for your own player ID, it is essential that this report includes the suspected cheater’s ID as well as the approximate time of the game, etc. This may not be the best system to report cheats and Respawn have acknowledged this. In a lengthy update from the Apex Legend developers, they said, in regards to cheating: “Even if you don’t get proof, get their ID and flag it and we can investigate the account. We have heard your feedback about a report feature in the game. I’ll just say that’s a very good idea“

  • Apex Legends cheaters “purged” from top spots of ranked leaderboard – Dexerto

Apex Legends cheaters “purged” from top spots of ranked leaderboard Respawn EntertainmentAfter a set of hackers took the top spots on the Apex Legends ranked ladder, Respawn has confirmed their accounts have been banned and the new rankings are “cheater free”. Just like Warzone, Apex Legends has been struggling with the abundance of cheaters in its competitive mode, especially at the top ranks on the ladder. This makes it nearly impossible for players to win certain games, with hackers utilizing wallhacks, aimbots, and even DDoSing matches. To try and combat this, Respawn has been ramping up their attempts to clear out cheaters in ranked, even threatening legal action to those who interfere with the game’s servers. Well, on September 30, a “purge” of the Predator leaderboard even wiped out two hackers holding the top spots, making space for more highly skilled players. Apex Legends bans Predator cheaters taking up top spots While very few members of the Apex Legends player base will ever reach Predator, a lot of them keep track of which players are at the top of the leaderboard. This gives a lot of the community motivation to keep climbing and allows highly skilled players to show off their impressive rank. However, when the top spots are held by cheaters, it devalues the purpose of the leaderboard. Luckily, Respawn Security Analyst RSPN_Hideouts took the matter into his own hands and directly banned the cheaters. Although it took some time for their names to be wiped off the leaderboard, this “purge” allowed other players to make their way up into the top ranks. Purge completed. New rankings are accurate and cheater free. — Conor Ford / Hideouts (@RSPN_Hideouts) September 30, 2021 While this is only a few players being banned, it’s great to see Respawn taking action against cheaters in Predator. Keeping the top leaderboard free from hackers gives players motivation to aim for the top and continue climbing in ranked. Although the game is a long way from being totally free from cheaters, it’s clear that Respawn is heading in the right direction, and keeping the top ranks free of hackers is a great place to start.

  • Apex Legends cheaters now have hacks to instantly get full armor – Dexerto

Apex Legends cheaters now have hacks to instantly get full armor Respawn EntertainmentA new Apex Legends hack is allowing cheaters to armor swap and equip attachments out of death boxes almost instantly. While Apex Legends looks relatively simple at a glance, there are countless advanced mechanics that take some players hundreds of hours to fully master. Whether it’s tap-strafing, wall bouncing, or punch-boosting, these advanced tricks may not look impactful at first, but they offer players a slight advantage over their opponents throughout a match. One of the most important skills to learn in Apex is armor swapping, as it allows you to stay in a skirmish for longer and output more damage in a fight. Unfortunately, not everyone wants to put in the time to learn this skill and instead, are using hacks to instantly swap attachments and armor out of deathboxes. Apex Legends hack lets cheaters instantly loot death boxes After being eliminated by a level 2 Wraith during a match on World’s Edge, Reddit user minsoup_ decided to spectate the player as their aim seemed to be strangely accurate. It didn’t take long for minsoup_ to realize that their suspicions had been correct and the player was in fact using an aimbot. However, it wasn’t the cheater’s pinpoint aim that caught minsoup_’s eye, it was the player’s ability to instantly equip attachments and armor out of deathboxes in a split second. Despite being on the move and not even facing the deathbox, the hacker was able to equip all upgraded attachments and armor in the blink of an eye. While this may seem insignificant at first, it has the potential to be absolutely huge in the middle of an intense gunfight. Having the ability to continue firing while instantly equipping nearby armor makes it nearly impossible to die, and that’s not even counting the aimbot the hacker is using as well. This is definitely a concerning sight for players as it shows hacks are getting more and more advanced. Let’s hope Respawn implements a more rigorous anti-cheat in the near future, or it’s possible the cheating problem may continue to get worse.

  • Apex Legends now names and shames cheaters in the kill feed – Dexerto

Apex Legends now names and shames cheaters in the kill feed Electronic ArtsApex Legends has received a feature that publicly names and shames cheaters and hackers in the kill feed. Shaming cheaters in games is nothing new, with many players having long taken pride in exposing those who break the rules. A few developers now actively participate in the practice, as well. Earlier this year, for example, the Escape from Tarkov studio shared Google sheets filled with the handles of thousands of players who were caught using exploits. Notably, cheaters in Call of Duty can no longer rely on the discretion of the franchise’s anti-cheat system, Ricochet. Thanks to an update, the software will flag cheaters/hackers by displaying the Ricochet logo next to the culprit’s name in the kill feed. Yet another major multiplayer title has since joined the name and shame club. Apex Legends’ kill feed now exposes cheaters On August 7, Apex Legends security developer and Twitter user Red Spider shared a glimpse of the shooter’s “new kill feed callout.” The accompanying screenshot showed the Apex kill feed, with a warning symbol and the following text: “Red Spider was removed from the match.” Respawn officially added the feature to Apex Legends on August 8 alongside the Season 18: Resurrection update. Clearly, this marks Respawn’s attempt at publicly flagging those who don’t play fairly. The security developer noted in a subsequent post, however, that the feature “respect[s] the users’ anonymous mode setting.” As such, if someone has the anonymous mode enabled, the kill feed will merely display player1234. Again, the feature targeting Apex Legends cheaters went live earlier this week on August 8, so players should be able to identify those who’ve misbehaved. Whether or not Respawn’s efforts on the hacking front will end here remains to be seen. But at least fans frustrated by the cheating issues can rest assured the studio is taking steps to improve the experience.

  • Respawn have now banned a staggering number of Apex Legends hackers – Dexerto

Respawn have now banned a staggering number of Apex Legends hackers Apex Legends developer, Respawn Enterainment, has addressed the rampant cheating by banning over 500,000 hackers. Cheats within Apex Legends include speed hacks, wall hacks and aimbots. Apex Legends cheating While Apex Legends has received praise for practically every element of the game, cheating has remained a huge problem. The battle royale game remains very popular but has had its player base, especially in the Asian region, diminished because of the cheating issues. Respawn Entertainment have confirmed that the Apex Legends ban list now totals more than 500,000. This was confirmed within the Season 1: Wild Frontier patch notes by Jay Frechette, Respawn Community Manager, who stated, “As I’m finishing the notes this morning, 499,937 accounts and counting have been banned for cheating.“ As this was nearly two days ago it’s fair to assume the total is above half a million now. This also means there have been over 150,000 cheaters banned since March 9. The initial 355,000 number from March 9 was for PC players only. It isn’t clear whether the latest reported total includes PS4 and Xbox players. It isn’t known how prevalent cheating is on console compared to PC, but by anecdotal feedback alone and because of the nature of the system, it is likely a far bigger problem on PC. The cheater section from the Apex Legends FAQ on the EA website says, “Apex Legends utilizes Easy Anti-Cheat from Kamu (an industry-leading anti-cheat service) on PC, and the built-in anti-cheat features available on Xbox One and PlayStation® 4.“ Ban number symbolic of a bigger problem in Apex Legends? On the surface it is good news that half a million cheaters have been banned from Apex Legends. However, that begs the questions, just how many more are there and is it a problem that can ruin the game. We know there is over 50 million players who have tried Apex Legends. A regular player base will be far less than this though, and that regular player base will include the majority of cheaters. Therefore, more than 1%, possibly up to 3% of regular players could be cheaters. This is obviously something that Apex Legends players won’t put up with in the long term. Games outside of their peak popularity, that have a cheating problem, tend to fade to nothing more than a hardcore contingent. While in its relative infancy it isn’t so much of a problem, it is something that needs to be stopped. It is good to see that the teams behind Apex Legends are taking cheating so seriously. Hopefully fixing it is their number one priority.

  • Apex Legends cheaters get amazingly outplayed and it’s so satisfying to watch – Dexerto

Apex Legends cheaters get amazingly outplayed and it’s so satisfying to watch Respawn EntertainmentA pair of Apex Legends cheaters were amazingly outplayed and destroyed by high-ranked players in a humiliating clip, and it’s extremely satisfying to watch. Like many other games, Apex Legends has its fair share of cheaters – though not on the same level as Activision’s Warzone – and it’s certainly discouraging to experience. However, when cheaters are outplayed by better players it’s very satisfying to watch. Especially when it’s not one, but two cheaters taking the loss. Redditor ‘AunixYT’ shared their hilarious POV on the Apex Legends subreddit, as they spectated obvious cheaters get completely obliterated by players that are quite simply – just better. The cheaters were continuously using an aimbot to destroy others in the lobby. Fortunately, there are no cheats that can help with bad game sense and movement. Two players recognized how bad the aimbotters were, and capitalized on their “noob-like” movement to embarrass them. The pair quite literally ran circles around the unsuspecting cheaters – using Wraith’s abilities to teleport them around. The clip has reached the top of the Apex Legend subreddit, and Redditors have shown the skilled players an immense amount of love. “Props to those players for being absolute chads,” commented one user. Whether it’s blatantly using third-party software for an advantage or abusing in-game bugs, it’s inevitable to encounter cheaters during your gaming sessions. Fans have actually called on Respawn to improve the game’s anti-cheat, with some concerned that the prevalence of cheaters is increasing as Apex ages. Regardless, it sure is amusing to watch them take the L.

  • Apex Legends cheater in Predator lobby banned live on NRG Rogue’s stream – Dexerto

Apex Legends cheater in Predator lobby banned live on NRG Rogue’s stream Respawn EntertainmentAfter being eliminated from an Apex Legends Predator lobby, Tanner ‘Rogue’ Trebb decided to spectate an obvious cheater who was then banned live on stream. In any competitive game, certain players will go the extra mile to get an unfair advantage over other competitors. This is certainly the case in Apex Legends, where a large number of cheaters can be found dominating in Predator lobbies. Whether it’s using an aimbot, wallhacks, or even programs that allow players to dodge bullets, all of them serve to make the user almost impossible to takedown. The only solution players can hope for is that Respawn can detect these hackers and ban them from the game. Well, a clip from NRG Rogue’s stream may have given the community some hope as he managed to catch a cheater being banned live on stream after he’d died in a Predator match. NRG Rogue catches Apex Legends cheater being banned During his May 17 stream, NRG Rogue was playing Apex Legends in a Predator-ranked lobby when he was eliminated by an enemy squad. After spectating the team that killed him, it didn’t take the streamer long to realize that every member of the group was using hacks. One of the cheaters, playing as Octane, was not only using an aimbot but was also seemingly able to dodge bullets. The hacker was running around locking onto opponents while sitting with only half of his health available. This left Rogue and his squad speechless as they continued to watch the player rampage through a set of enemies. Despite this, just before the Octane could kill off the entire squad, the cheater stopped moving and received a ban from Respawn. “Even if I had these cheats I wouldn’t be that good… his teammates telling him he froze too, his teammates telling him he froze, he got banned, he got banned last second.” Although it’s always satisfying to see a cheater banned from the game, Rogue’s clip only highlights how much of an issue hacking is at the higher ranks in Apex Legends. Unfortunately, banning a cheater’s account will very rarely stop them from making a new one and using the third-party software again. Hopefully, in the near future, Respawn can develop a system where these cheaters are caught and punished before they can reach the top ranks of play.

  • Apex Legends cheater gets banned live on stream mid-gunfight vs Rogue – Dexerto

Apex Legends cheater gets banned live on stream mid-gunfight vs Rogue Respawn Entertainment/Twitch: RogueAn Apex Legends cheater was banned live on Tanner ‘Rogue’ Trebb’s Twitch stream in the middle of a gunfight which resulted in them spontaneously transforming into a death box. For the majority of the Apex Legends community, improving at the game usually involves heading into the Firing Range or grinding out matches for practice. However, some players prefer to take shortcuts and download third-party software to give them an unfair advantage over their foes. While some hackers get away with using an aimbot or wallhacks for long periods of time, others are picked up by the automated anti-cheat and immediately banned. Well, that’s exactly what happened to a cheater during Rogue’s stream with the enemy mysteriously transforming into a death box in the middle of a skirmish. Apex Legends hacker banned live during Rogue’s stream During a recent stream, Rogue and his teammates were taking on an enemy squad in an intense skirmish on Broken Moon. After aggressively pushing forward for a kill, one of the foes swung on Rogue and attempted to take him down. However, almost instantly after taking the gunfight, the enemy spontaneously transformed into a death box, revealing that were in fact a cheater. Either the hacker was manually banned by one of the security team at Respawn, or the automated anti-cheat detected that they were using third-party software. Shortly after the enemy disappeared and the whole opposing squad had been wiped, Rogue celebrated by shouting “f**k you cheater” and revealing to his teammates that the hacker was “banned in my face”. With EA and Respawn promising improvements to the anti-cheat, Apex players will be hoping that even more hackers are banned in the future and detected before they can ruin the integrity of Ranked matches.

  • Apex Legends cheater discord exposes “streamer hit list” and more – Dexerto

Apex Legends cheater discord exposes “streamer hit list” and more EAAn Apex Legends Discord server with a streamer “hit list” and access to buy cheats, dubbed the ‘cheater cord’, has been exposed, highlighting some serious issues in the Apex community. Apex Legends has found itself in the middle of major controversy following the reveal of a cheating focused discord server filled with streamers and competitive players from the community. The information shared by Twitter user @Adayumz, a popular figure in the Apex community, alleges large scale cheating by players in the game — going all the way to the Tier 1 scene. In the footage Adam shares his screen and browses through an Apex Legends server, showing channels with a “hit list” and “whitelist” of streamers cheaters should either aim to kill, or ignore if encountered. Flipping between the channels and scrolling the server’s member list, he points out various names of prominent players in the community, “every single name you see in here is cheating,” he says on the call. The thread also includes screenshots of messages between Adam and other individuals involved with cheating in Apex Legends, where they discussed what they knew about cheats in the community. These conversations alleged cheating by prominent players throughout the past few competitive seasons, and suggested some players were cheating while “playing in the tier 1 realm.” Another message chain was a conversation with an individual called “Patrick” who Adam identified as someone who “makes a career selling cheats and doing sketchy shit on the web”. In that conversation, Adam explained his motivations behind exposing cheater cord: “drop a nuke on the scene so good people can make it.” The twitter thread also contained multiple clips showing some of the cheats people are encountering in-game, including aimbots and players moving without triggering sound cues. If the evidence presented in the thread is true, it looks like cheating has become a serious problem in the Apex Legends scene.

  • Apex Legends cheater bizarrely outs themself by streaming with wallhacks – Dexerto

Apex Legends cheater bizarrely outs themself by streaming with wallhacks RespawnAn Apex Legends streamer was exposed as cheating by one viewer who stumbled across their broadcast, only to clip them trying to turn off their wallhacks and end their stream. Despite Respawn’s best efforts, Apex Legends – particularly at high levels – has experienced its fair share of cheating. While not necessarily as endemic as games like Warzone, plenty of players still struggle with opponents manipulating the game to gain an unfair advantage. It can often be difficult to identify exactly who is cheating, especially when certain hacks are only visible from a player’s POV. However, when a streamer broadcasts their POV with wallhacks clear as day, it can be easier to identify which players are bending the rules. Redditor ‘hugewattsonguy‘ stumbled across an Apex streamer with no viewers, only to realize that their stream was broadcasting hacks. The player, whose gamer tag is “iGuess iM Better”, had wallhacks enabled, allowing them to see items, equipment, and supply boxes all across the map. However, they appeared to realize that a viewer was now seeing what they were, leading them to swiftly open a configuration menu, disable wallhacks, and end their stream. By then, the viewer had clipped the stream and had overwhelming evidence of their cheating. “Streamer with blatant wall hacks realizes he has a viewer (me) and tries to play it cool by casually turning them off and ending his stream,” the Redditor captioned their post. A number of Apex fans were quick to criticize the streamer, especially considering his audacity to boast of his superiority through his gamer tag. One joked: “You need to be a different breed of stupid to cheat and stream you cheating.” We’ll let that comment speak for us.
