While Jujutsu Kaisen has plenty of major character deaths, few people expect the main trio to die. However, the Shibuya Incident Arc ruthlessly shattered such hopes by giving Nobara an ambiguous fate at the hands of Mahito. Since then, fans have wondered about her whereabouts for a long time and come up with countless theories about her return. However, Chapter 265 revealed Nobara had died in Shibuya, shutting down her comeback theories once and for all. Now, fans are wondering if the same will happen to Megumi. During the Culling Game Arc, Megumi’s body was possessed by Sukuna and he’s been housing the ancient sorcerer since then. To prevent him from fighting back, Sukuna killed Tsumiki and crushed his will to live. Despite Megumi being absent from the story for more than 50 chapters, readers have still been hoping for his return, especially since he’s the deuteragonist. But since Jujutsu Kaisen has already killed two main characters – Gojo and Nobara – all bets are off. “If we’re being real, people were saying the same thing about Nobara, and look how that ended up,” commented one X user regarding Megumi’s comeback and future role in the story. “Yeah, we thought the same thing with Nobara and lol where that got us,” added another. However, many still think Megumi will come back and play a significant role in the future. The most common guess is him activating the merger after Sukuna’s defeat. As one wrote, “He’s gonna come back and start the merger.” “Oh he’ll come back alright, he’ll be the one to summon the merger and mess everything up. I can’t imagine Sukuna not being defeated at this point vs Yuji, and the merger wasn’t placed in Megumi’s body for nothing… This is going to be devastating and I’m all in for it,” added another. Whether Megumi will really come back to play an important role is yet to be seen. For now, readers are excited about the final round of Yuji vs. Sukuna after the protagonist finally unleashes his domain expansion.
