It’s been 10 years since we first met Deku and his fellow heroes-in-training. Needless to say, saying goodbye to them has been an emotional affair. Chapter 430 concludes the beloved story by showing us how our protagonist ends up in the future. Picking up after an eight-year-long time skip, the finale shows Deku as a teacher at U.A. while the rest of the Class 1-A students are all Pro Heroes. But fret not, by the chapter’s end, the former One For All user dons his yellow cape again, this time with some high-tech support gear. But aside from Deku, we also get glimpses of other characters’ futures, too. While some are flashy enough not to miss (like his classmates and Dai), a few get lost in the crowd. But we’re here to shed light on five intriguing but easily missed character endings in the finale. The kid from Chapter 425 goes to U.A. Remember the mysterious person from Chapter 425? At the time of his introduction, there were plenty of theories about his identity. Some believed he was Shigaraki reborn, while others thought it was Deku’s father (as absurd as that was!). It wasn’t until Chapter 429 that we found out who this was. Turns out he was no villain; just an innocent child inhumanly abused by his family. But like everything My Hero Academia does, his story ended on a positive note when the old lady from Tenko’s childhood helped him. In the finale, we learn how much her help mattered. While Tenko went down a dark path after society’s rejection, this child found a new life. Chapter 430 shows him as a student at U.A., working towards becoming a Hero. Gentle Criminal and La Brava are married My Hero Academia never invested much time in romantic subplots and this was, arguably, for the better. But while we don’t find out if Deku and Ochako ever made their relationship official , we do see another couple getting their happy ending. Gentle Criminal and La Brava entered the story as villains, but we came to empathize with them soon enough. Despite the crimes they committed, they loved each other and weren’t evil, as seen when they helped in the battle against All For One during the Final War. So, it’s heartwarming to see them find their places in society. Not just that, Chapter 430 shows them running a big cyber security company: Ge L. Inc. If you’re paying close attention, you can also catch the wedding rings on their fingers. Eri chose not to become a Hero One of the most gut-wrenching storylines in My Hero Academia is the Shie Hassaikai Arc. It showed Overhaul torturing Eri every day to exploit her powerful Quirk until she was saved by Mirio, Deku, and the Pro Hero team. After this, many fans believed she’d aspire to become a Hero like her saviors. However, during the Final War, Aizawa told Deku how little Eri had a new dream. Fascinated by the music that caused her to smile for the first time, she wanted to become a musician. My Hero Academia’s ending shows Eri staying true to her dream. While Kota, another child Deku saved, joins U.A. to become a Hero, Eri decides to carry on with civilian life instead. She goes to a normal high school now and is in the music club. Mt. Lady and Kamui Woods are top heroes Throughout the story, we see Mt. Lady and Kamui Woods as up-and-coming Heroes. While the former isn’t above using her popularity and status to get free stuff from people, the latter is decidedly more serious. Despite their quirkiness (pun unintended), both of them are excellent Heroes and never ones to run away from danger. It looks like their efforts have paid off, as My Hero Academia’s ending reveals them both managed to become top heroes. By the sound of it, they’re the new No. 2 and No. 3 Heroes, respectively. However, a newcomer has surpassed them in the hero game. We learn from Deku that Mirio is the current No. 1, despite being younger than Mt. Lady and Kamui Woods. The protagonist also reveals Shoto, too, may surpass them soon enough, so they better work hard. Melissa Shield made Deku’s armor To be candid, the first half of My Hero Academia’s ending is utterly depressing. After following Deku’s journey to the top for years, it’s heartbreaking to see him lose One For All and lead a civilian life while his friends have all achieved their dreams. But it wouldn’t be My Hero Academia if it didn’t end on a positive and inspiring note. Towards the end of Chapter 430, All Might presents Deku with some high-tech and expensive armor and support gear, created from his fight against All For One during the Final War. All Might reveals the hero suit is made by Mei Hatsume and his “overseas friend”. If you haven’t made the connection yet, the former No. 1 Hero is talking about Melissa Shield, the girl from the first My Hero Academia movie. She’s now an inventor, and just like how her dad aided All Might, she’s aiding his protégé, continuing with the tradition. Still not over the manga’s ending?
