Since Oshi no Ko is in its final arc, we’ve been expecting things to get more serious. The last storyline already gave us key moments like Aqua’s confrontation with Ruby and his father and the reveal of the final villain of the story. However, no one expected the story to take such a dark turn. Oshi no Ko Chapter 158, titled ‘Jewel,’ focuses on Ruby’s idol career as B-Komachi performs in a successful event in Miyazaki. Throughout the chapter, we witness Ruby’s brilliance as an idol. But unbeknown to her, Nino is in the audience. She’s filled with hatred and jealousy seeing Ruby surpass Ai. Thanks to her toxic obsession with the deceased idol, she thinks nobody should shine brighter than Ai. Thus, Nino plans to get rid of Ruby. She calls Hikaru to orchestrate the young Hoshino’s murder. However, Hikaru declines, asking her to surrender to the police like he’s planning to. But that doesn’t stop Nino from committing another crime. At the end of Oshi no Ko Chapter 158, Ruby opens her door to a stranger who stabs her. This is a mirror image of Ai’s murder when she was similarly stabbed. It’s a throwback nobody asked for, and one of the most brutal scenes in the series. The Oshi no Ko fandom is in disarray following this twist. One fan posted on X, “Where the hell is Oshi No Ko manga going with this latest chapter, Chapter 158 just brought back PTSD.” “I just wanna know why,” commented another, with a third saying, “I don’t wanna believe it.” “Hell of a way for Aqua to completely overcome his guilt complex. He finally has the potential to save his salvation,” wrote another user. Whether or not Ruby survives this attack will hopefully be revealed in Chapter 159. It’ll be also interesting to see how Aqua reacts to this happening to his twin sister. If you’re looking to check out some other manga aside from Oshi no Ko, have a look at the spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen 267, One Piece 1124, and Boruto Two Blue Vortex 13.

Oshi no Ko Chapter 158 has a brutal throwback you won’t see coming Doga KoboOshi no Ko Chapter 158 features one of the most shocking moments in the manga since Ai Hoshino’s death, and it has baffled readers.
