The launch of the highly anticipated Season 2 in Apex Legends introduced a lot of new content and changes into the popular battle royale title, but it failed to address of the game’s most integral issues – cheating and hacking. In fact, the introduction of the new Ranked Leagues mode has actually given rise to more of those who play unfairly, cheating their way to the higher ranked divisions. Players from all over the world have been complaining about this issue on social media and Reddit, with one EU-based player claiming that his region’s servers have become “unplayable.” “The majority of games I played today had cheaters; the last game had more than one,” the user wrote. “It’s basically pointless playing Platinum Division right now in the EU. Apex in the EU is completely broken at Platinum, more than one hacker each game.” With this in mind, Reddit user ‘Pjeh‘ has offered up a series of suggestions for how the developers at Respawn could try and address what has become a critical issue. Phone Authentication – Adding a way to authenticate players in ranked play, at least for the higher leagues, would limit those who use alternate accounts to hack their way up the rankings. – Max level to play ranked – The minimum level to play ranked is currently set at 10, but increasing that to 100 (max) would make sure that everyone who’s eligible for ranked had to play a lot to earn it. Those who use cheats would face a higher risk of getting caught if they had to play all the way to the max level first. This could at least be put in place for playing Gold rank or higher. – Partner up with FaceIt – FaceIt is one of the more prominent tournament and league organizers in online gaming, having partnered up with the likes of CS:GO, Battalion 1944, and others. Using FaceIt to run ranked play in Apex would certainly lead to many of the cheaters getting caught. – Hire dedicated team to look for cheaters – While anti-cheat programs are great, having a group of five to 10 people actively looking for cheaters would be a great supplement. This team could go on livestream platforms, like Twitch, and check the streams of high ranked players to see if any illegal activity is going on. – Obviously, there is no way to be sure if any or all of the suggestions above would help limit cheating in Apex Legends ranked play until they’re tested out. However, logic dictates that it would have at least some sort of positive effect, which would be better than nothing. Either way, Respawn will definitely look to put out this fire as soon as possible, before the issue begins affecting gameplay to the point where players start to look for other battle royale options.

Apex Legends: Best ways to get rid of cheaters in ranked play Respawn EntertainmentCheating continues to be a huge problem in Apex Legends, and Respawn Entertainment will have to find a way to get rid of them sooner or later.
