Respawn Entertainment Producer Josh Medina spoke with Counter Logic Gaming’s Apex team members Jack ‘NiceWigg’ Martin and Christian ‘Nokokopuffs’ Feliciano about the improvements that could be made to Kings Canyon. A lot has changed in the battle royale since the return of the initial location for the Apex Games. New weapons, items, armor types, and Legends have made their way to the game – something Kings Canyon now needs to adapt to. Whether it’s the strain of the new items making the loot distribution on the map bad or just that the battlefield needs some sprucing up, it’s something the devs are looking to fix. “Tuesday the loot density should be addressed in [Kings Canyon],” Medina said. “Let me if it still feels [bad] after the patch.” It’s unclear what those changes would be, but NiceWigg indicated that it “was just the hop ups [Respawn] added etc. messing with Kings Canyon loot that made it feel so dry.” Since the Season 4 changes, players report a surge in Double Tap Trigger hop ups among the items that have been showing up the most at random times. The pro players found it encouraging that the dev took time to have a back-and-forth about the issues in Apex that need to be addressed. Another issue brought to Medina’s attention was an issue with armor swaps that sometimes come in so fast that people end up with the broken armor they were trying to ditch. Yah like if it’s empty and my purple armors full. I don’t want to accidentally swap back to the broken. Same thing if I have empty blue to full gray. It sometimes re-picks up the empty blue and gets you killed for it. I spam E on intense situations so I accidentally do it. — Noko (@Nokokopuffs) April 4, 2020 “One issue is the armor as well,” Nokokopuffs said. “Like today, I had an empty gold armor and swapped to a purple but pressed E so fast it picked back up the gold. If the armor is empty and swap to a full is there a way to you prioritize a full armor over just what’s ‘better.’” Medina teased that he’d talk to the Apex team to “potentially do what we do when swapping Evo armor (red to gold/purp).” It seems like the Apex Legends teams are buckling down to try and pick up the speed on player feedback turnaround to optimize the popular battle royale.

Apex Legends dev confirm Kings Canyon loot changes coming in next update Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends team will be addressing concerns with loot distributions, among other pressing changes, on Kings Canyon with the next update to address growing problems in the game.
