Apex Legends dev responds to \u201csecret\u201d new Gibraltar ability in v1.1.1 update Respawn EntertainmentFollowing the latest major update going live Apex Legends on April 16, some players believed that Gibraltar had been given a secret buff, to the point where a developer from Respawn Entertainment had to respond. The v1.1.1 update was one of the biggest Apex Legends has had to date, and it included a lot of major changes to some of the core aspects of the game. One area that these changes targeted was Legends, more specifically Caustic and Gibraltar, both of whom received considerable buffs. However, players began to notice that the Gibraltar had received an additional buff that hadn\u2019t been listed or specified in the official patch notes \u2013 one that allowed the Legend to cast aside Arc Stars thrown onto him. The video below, courtesy of Reddit user \u2018VonArne\u2018 shows an Arc Star being thrown and successfully sticking to the Gibraltar\u2019s Gun Shield, but when the shield is lowered, the explosive does not detonate and is nowhere to be found. Respawn dev responds to Reddit post Predictably, the post began to pick up traction on Reddit, despite the fact that some in the comments section were claiming that this feature was, in fact, a Gibraltar glitch that had been in the game since its release back in early February. Whether that is the case or not, it was to this post that a developer named \u2018Jayfresh_Respawn\u2019 decided to comment on Reddit, saying \u201cThanks guys. Noted and looking into it.\u201d Judging from the developer\u2019s response, it\u2019s clear that this Gibraltar ability was never supposed to have been in the game, and with Respawn looking into it, it\u2019ll probably be eradicated before too long. Gibraltar and Caustic receive buffs on April 16 As mentioned above, both Gibraltar and Caustic received serious buffs in the v1.1.1 update on April 16. The Gibraltar\u2019s Gun Shield\u2019s health was increased from 50 to 75, and he was given a new Passive Perk called Fortified, which reduces damage taken by 10%.
