When Apex Legends was first released in early-February, many quickly branded it as the next major sensation in the world of online gaming. Taking the battle royale genre by storm, some believed that it would be the first game to truly emerge as a legitimate challenger to Fortnite Battle Royale. However, things haven’t exactly panned out that way since then, as a disappointing Season 1 Battle Pass, lack of consistent updates, failure to rid the game of cheaters, and other factors played in to the game’s popularity plateauing. As a result, many have decided that Apex Legends’ fate is sealed, and that the game is dying and destined for doom. Why Apex Legends is not actually dying With so much negativity surrounding the game on social media recently, Reddit user ‘Kung_Fu_Jedi’ has put up a long post that makes a strong case for why the game is not dying, despite many peoples’ claims that it is. The first point brought up is how far back it is from Fortnite BR in terms of Twitch viewership, which the user has chalked up to being a demographic issue. “There’s simply less adults playing video games than children.,” they wrote. “So when people look at the Twitch numbers to try and gauge where this game is, they’re doing themselves and everyone else a great disservice by not thinking about how the majority of people who watch games on there are also mostly children” The user then brought up the point about how Apex Legends is currently one of the most played games on Xbox, sitting ahead of some very popular and big-name titles. “Apex is sitting at 4th on the most played list on Xbox,” they wrote. “Way ahead of games like Destiny 2, Battlefield V, The Division [2], Overwatch, PUBG, and many others. So if Apex is dying then so are some of the most popular games in the industry.” As for one final comparison with Fortnite BR, the users makes the argument that Respawn Entertainment have decided not to overwork their employees to the levels that Epic Games allegedly have. “We’ve all seen the reports of the crunch time at Epic. Their employees work a ridiculous amount of hours to pump out content as often as they do. And we’ve all seen how Respawn handled this situation, saying that they want their employees to have a life outside of feeding their players with new content every single week.” When is it time for Apex Legends players to worry All that being said, there has to be a point at which Apex Legends fans and players have to begin worrying that their game is slipping way too behind the competition. The Reddit user felt as though players should begin to truly panic if Season 2 and its Battle Pass end up being a failure. “Now is not the time to panic. If season 2 bombs, then, and only then, should the floor be open for discussion on how they could improve a game that everyone loves to complain about. This game doesn’t have to be the most popular thing to ever happen in the history of the universe in order for it to be a success.” You can read the full Reddit post below, or by visiting the user’s page HERE. When will Season 2 launch in Apex Legends? Speaking of Season 2, EA have confirmed that the next Season will be revealed in their upcoming press conference at E3 2019. Although the official release date hasn’t been announced yet, it should happen at some point soon after the first reveal. EA and Respawn have already made some big promises for Season 2, including a better Battle Pass, a new Legend and weapon, and map changes.

Passionate Apex Legends player makes perfect case for why the game is NOT dying Diana Topalian – LoutimgThe prospects of Apex Legends‘ long-term success has come under question over the past few weeks, but one player has come up with a strong case for why the game isn’t dying just yet.
