Cheating in multiplayer games has always happened, but there\u2019s definitely been an increased focus on it in the last few years. As games have become more live service, and developers have promised to deliver with anti-cheats, communities do become outraged when someone ruins a game with an aimbot or wall-hack. That\u2019s been true in the case of Apex Legends too, with players routinely complaining about cheaters running rampant. In the early days, Respawn were quick to shut them down, but hackers have evolved over time. Now, the devs have revealed that in the five years since the battle royale released, they\u2019ve banned over 6 million cheaters. According to their stats, Respawn also bans an average of around 100,000 accounts a month too. However, that announcement has split some players. \u201cThey expanded their anti-cheat team which is a W,\u201d one said. \u201cTime to start banning Cronus, Strike Packs, and XiM,\u201d another added. \u201cThey count the bulls*it bans also..\u201d another argued. \u201cYou can ban 100k but if they keep coming back, what\u2019s the point?\u201d commented another. A crackdown on Cronus and Strike Packs \u2013 add-ons for controller players \u2013 has been on the top of fans\u2019 lists for quite some time. In their August 21 update on cheaters, Respawn also confirmed that they\u2019re \u201ccontinuing to deploy new tools and technologies faster than ever\u201d to tackle the problems. Whether or not they\u2019ll get after Cronus and Strike Packs, though, remains to be seen.
