The latest patch for Apex Legends addressed mostly balancing issues, with both Legends and weapons being tweaked to (hopefully) improve gameplay. However, there was some notable omissions from the patch too. There was only one single bug fix, despite the handful of bugs that have been present since launch, and the fixes for hit reg and audio problems, which have been mentioned by Respawn weeks prior, also didn’t get any attention. On March 22, Respawn Community Manager Jay Frechette stated that they were “aware and testing a fix locally” for hit reg issues, and also stated that they would an answer “next week” for the audio issues. The next week came and went without any said answers, and when the v1.1.1 update dropped on April 15, still without fixes for hit reg and audio, some players were understandably disappointed. The patch stated: “We are actively working on many improvements and we’re aware of the reports around audio issues, slow mo servers, hit registration, and more.” A developer, known as u/Scriptacus on Reddit, responded to a rather obvious instance of poor hit registration, denying that their priorities were split. Although Legend and weapon balancing came first, Scriptacus explains that the engineering and design teams are distinct from one another. As for the lack of updates on the issues, the developer states that there simply hasn’t been any significant progress made, as they are unable to replicate the problems in the ‘dev environment’. This means there is “no ETA” on either the audio issues or hit reg problems, but we are assured that “progress is being made.” More updates are expected soon for Apex Legends, but there will still be balance that needs struck between new content and cosmetic items, and technical fixes. While some players prioritize the former, others prioritize the latter, and Respawn must try to appease as many as possible.

Respawn developer gives update on Apex Legends hit reg and audio issues After the v1.1.1 update for Apex Legends failed to deliver any fixes for hit registration and audio issues, players are getting impatient, but a member of the Respawn Entertainment development team have ensured fans that they are “working on it”.
