Respawn gives update on Apex Legends Nintendo Switch version Nintendo\/RespawnApex Legends game director Chad Grenier has dropped a small update regarding the Nintendo Switch version of the battle royale, confirming that it is still in the works. When Apex Legends first launched back in February of 2019, it was only released for players on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. As it\u2019s exploded in popularity and cemented itself as one of the premier battle royale games around, more and more players have begged for their chance to play Apex on a different device \u2013 be it mobile, Switch, or something else completely. With their recent job listings, Respawn have confirmed that a mobile version is being released at some point and though they\u2019ve also confirmed a Switch port, due for release in \u2018Fall 2020\u2019, they\u2019ve remained tight-lipped on it since. Well, that it is until Chad Grenier, the game director behind Apex Legends, started responding to a handful of fans\u2019 questions on Twitter on October 1. The Respawn dev was inundated with queries about the upcoming cross-platform play beta \u2013 including how it\u2019ll work in ranked, how it could expand the game when its released fully, as well as more technical questions. One of the questions Grenier responded to asked if the devs had \u201cdumped\u201d the Nintendo Switch version from production. \u201cWe are still working on it,\u201d Grenier swiftly replied, \u201cCan\u2019t say more.\u201d Given that Grenier stated that he can\u2019t say anything more, it seems likely that the Switch version of Apex Legends won\u2019t get any further, official announcements until later down the line \u2013 perhaps, only when its close to releasing. In the meantime, Respawn will likely have their hands full making sure that the crossplay goes off without too many hitches as well as making sure that they\u2019re also ready for the launch of the next-gen consoles.
