Even Respawn Entertainment themselves, developers of Apex Legends, said that a solo mode was \u201cone of the most fan-requested features since launch\u201d \u2013 but shroud doesn\u2019t think it will be very popular. Speaking to his tens of thousands of viewers on August 7, shroud explained that the solo mode, while highly anticipated, simply \u201cwon\u2019t work\u201d given the game\u2019s core design. Apex Legends was developed with three-player teams in mind, with various abilities tailored specifically for team play. For example, Lifeline\u2019s fast revive and shield ability will be rendered useless, and it\u2019s unclear how the loot pool will be rebalanced for solo mode. When asked how he thinks Respawn will balance for solos, shroud was pessimistic: \u201cChances are, they\u2019re not going to [balance abilities in solos], which is why the game isn\u2019t going to be very good in solos. I don\u2019t think it will be that popular in solos. \u201cI think it will come out for limited time, for two weeks, people are going to try it, they\u2019re going to hate it,\u201d Shroud continues, \u201cand then [Respawn] will pull it and they probably won\u2019t do it again.\u201d Shroud explains that if the developers really want the game to work in solos, they have to \u201crebalance the whole game for solo\u201d, but doesn\u2019t believe the developers will do so. As one of the most popular Apex Legends streamers on Twitch, shroud will no doubt try out the new solo mode, but he doesn\u2019t seem as keen on the idea as the majority of the player base. Solo mode is set to go live for a limited time on Tuesday, August 13, running until August 27.
