Baldur’s Gate 3 is home to its fair share of difficult boss encounters, many of which especially prove trying in Honour Mode. However, one boss battle in particular always felt like a walk in the park – the fight versus vampire lord Cazador Szarr. Many fans have expressed disappointment about the battle in the past, wanting more out of it because of Cazador’s significance to Astarion’s quest. Fortunately, later patches removed some of the exploits that made the vampire-centric encounter such a breeze. Unfortunately, there’s one player who didn’t get the memo until it was too late. Baldur’s Gate 3 fan shamefully loses Honour Mode run to Cazador Reddit user YasuKenji went into their Honour Mode run believing they’d easily walk all over Cazador, after previously defeating him twice without issue. As the player shared with fellow Redditors, though, “I didn’t realize how much they buffed him.” Their low expectations set them up for failure. According to the Baldur’s Gate 3 player, an assault against the vampire lord resulted in the following, “his vampirism swarm took out my grouped teammates and I lost my honour run.” Reading patch notes showed just how much of a buff Cazador has received. And now, the Redditor can’t help but wonder how they’re to cope with such a loss. YasuKenji isn’t the only one who’s suffered Cazador’s wrath post-patch. Another person chimed in to say he took them by surprise in their Honour Mode run. As such, their latest playthrough has them feeling hesitant about the rematch. The Redditor in question wrote, “He got me in my last HM run. I’m in Act 3 now and hesitant to go for him again. It was my fault though, I just kept making bad decisions.” Meanwhile, other BG3 veterans have offered tips on how to best the buffed version of Cazador. One piece of advice reads, “If you cast the daylight spell it weakens him severely. Also the best strategy I found is to surprise him with shovel or an invis companion and literally dump all your damage on him in that window.” Here’s to hoping players don’t keep underestimating the vicious vampire master.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players can’t cope with losing to “easy” boss after buff Larian StudiosOne Baldur’s Gate 3 player lost their Honour Mode run because a buff made the Cazador fight more difficult than usual.
