Scratch has the heart of practically everyone both in Baldur’s Gate 3 and the huge community of players surrounding the game. After all, he’s the best boy and is undeniably one of the most adorable companions you can get in Baldur’s Gate 3. However, since he’s so lovable, many are hesitant to let him out of camp, with fears of his demise plaguing the minds of many fans. However, those fears can finally be let go thanks to one player who’s issued a key combat PSA for everyone’s favorite boy. Baldur’s Gate 3 fan reveals Scratch is completely safe in combat Sharing their PSA on Reddit, one user explained how “Apparently some people aren’t aware that Scratch isn’t harmed when he’s summoned as a familiar. He’s basically a construct, so don’t worry about hurting him. He wants to help!” Essentially, since Scratch counts as a familiar when you summon him into battle, if he falls he’ll simply return to your camp instead of dying – meaning you can have man’s best friend right by your side in epic battles without worrying about his demise. “My wife and I did an entire play-through where we never summoned scratch ’cause I did not know he would reappear. Just started our second playthrough and trying to see if I can emotionally deal with sending him into combat” commented one player, proving it may still be a little tricky to see the adorable pup getting hurt. One fan took to the comments to give players a useful tip when using Scratch in combat: “Key is to have him hide in the shadows. If one of your party goes down he can help them back up. That’s how I use him! And the occasional one or two HP enemy that needs a good bite’n.” Others joked how you’ll need to be careful when triggering combat in camp, highlighting how “if combat is triggered in camp and scratch dies in camp then it is the real Scratch. And congrats you’ve just begun John Wick.” It’s not exactly clear how Scratch can be considered as a construct instead of just being a good boy, but if it works in his favor and means he can’t be killed in combat, then there are not many complaints to be had. Just be careful when he’s in your camp, any fight there is devastatingly permanent.

Baldur’s Gate 3 community reveals major combat feature for Scratch Larian StudiosOne Baldur’s Gate 3 player has highlighted a major Scratch feature that could change combat for tons of players.
