The same can be said about a fan-favorite companion known as Karlach. However, one player has provided a reason why they never use her. Baldur’s Gate 3 is a game that is all about the journey rather than the destination. You will meet several companions and each of them has a different outlook on the world regarding what is right or wrong. The same goes for Karlach who is one of the most popular companions in the entire game. However, one player was subjected to an incident with Karlach which prevented them from using her in future expeditions. Baldur’s Gate 3 players provide reasoning behind dropping Karlach for over 100 hours The discussion surrounding this topic was started by a Reddit user zsdr56bh who opened, “When I found Karlach and she joined me, and wanted to fight some folks up the hill, it was fine and I took her to go fight them. After the battle was over, Karlach was running around attacking inanimate objects and there was some mention of she has to keep attacking or she’ll lose her class mechanic.” They continued, “so in my mind I thought ‘wow this class mechanic seems way too intense. no way I can be worried about constantly hitting things when not even in combat.’ and I swapped her out. Played through the game multiple times ignoring Barbarian as a class because of this, never realizing that was just a specific moment for her.” Other players joined in the conversation as they had similar experiences with Karlach. One such user mentioned, “After a tough fight with those fake paladins, Karlach set the building on fire and killed my Tav. Must be her way of thanking me I guess.” Another user chimed in, “You missed out on Gortash and Karlach beef,” followed by a different player claiming, “I accidentally killed gortash without her. I will never forget her disappointment. Voice actress was far too good.” Finally, one of the community members commented, “I’ve never taken Karlach out of my party. Frenzied barbarian gets to swing or toss one enemy at another as a bonus action (or do any attack), highly recommend.” It seems most players have had very similar experiences with Karlach. However, that is part of her charm and they love how she is so passionate about both the player character as well as her class.

Baldur’s Gate 3 player reveals why they never use Karlach Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 has quite a lot of companions and each one of them has a distinct personality.
