Warzone Season 5 Reloaded was the game’s last update and introduced the final balance changes to Raven Software’s original battle royale. Although this means the meta is now stable, it’s still hard to know which guns are worth adding to your loadout list. Well, while the XM4, Cooper Carbine, and Grau 5.56 have stood out as the strongest ARs in the meta, it’s the MP40 that’s risen up as one of the best SMGs in Warzone. The gun not only has impressive damage, but it also provides the user with a huge amount of mobility which is essential in Warzone when attempting to hunt down opponents and rack up kills. However, to get the most out of the weapon you’ll need to run a meta loadout and luckily, we’ve got you covered. Remember, if you’re ready to dive into Warzone 2 and want to know which top-tier weapons to use, be sure to check out our list of the best meta weapons and loadouts to use in Warzone 2. These attachments balance each other out and ensure the MP40 melts through your opponents without too much kickback. After that, utilize the Krausnick 33M Folding, m1941 Hand Stop, and Stippled Grip to boost your overall mobility and decrease the gun’s recoil even further. Combined with the Slate Reflector optic, the setup will allow you to lock onto a target and land every single shot. When it comes to bullets, make sure you run Lengthened to maximize the gun’s TTK, as well as the 7.62 Gorenko 45 Round Mags so you can take multiple opponents without having to reload. Finally, round off the loadout with the Steady proficiency to increase your movement speed while aiming down sight and of course, the Quick perk so you’re always running around at max speed. This makes flanking enemies easy and prevents you from being caught out in the open by snipers. Best MP40 Warzone class Perks & Equipment When it comes to perks, our loadout runs the standard meta choices with EOD protecting you from explosive blasts, and Amped increasing your weapon swap speeds to either switch to another fully loaded weapon or top up your primary beast. We recommend taking Overkill instead of Ghost with the MP40 as the weapon doesn’t perform well at long-range, so having a Sniper like the ZRG 20mm or an STG44 AR is essential. If you’re not a fan of the STG44, the Grau 5.56, Cooper Carbine, NZ-41, and UGM-8 are all incredibly powerful. Finally, finish off the class with a Semtex to force enemies out of cover, or even stick one for an instant down, and a Stim to give you a boost of health in the middle of a feisty skirmish. How to unlock the MP40 in Warzone Unlocking the MP40 in Warzone and Vanguard is rather straightforward, as it only requires players to reach Rank 16 in the Pacific season. While we recommend reaching that level in Vanguard multiplayer as it’s quicker, it can easily be done in Warzone but it will take slightly longer. Alternative to the MP40 Warzone loadout While the MP40 may be a top-tier Vanguard SMG, the OTs-9 remains the popular pick for fans of Cold War. This powerful weapon is absolutely lethal at close-range and is perfect for players who prefer to take aggressive gunfights rather than hold a single position. Although the OTs-9’s pick rate certainly isn’t the highest in Season 5 Reloaded, it doesn’t mean the SMG doesn’t pack a punch. It’s especially potent on Rebirth Island where tight corridors and enclosed spaces mean players are forced to take close-range skirmishes. Similar to the MP40, it’s key you run Overkill alongside the OTs-9 or you’ll struggle to deal with opponents at long range. So, if the MP40 isn’t the right weapon for you, consider checking our dedicated OTs-9 loadout guide.
