Call of Duty fans are eagerly anticipating the official announcement about next year\u2019s title \u2013 which is reportedly set to be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. The Modern Warfare part of the CoD franchise is extremely popular, dating back to the release of the original Modern Warfare title in 2007. However, there hasn\u2019t been a release in the series since 2011. So, here\u2019s everything we know about the next installment of CoD \u2013 including whether or not the Modern Warfare franchise will be making a return. Fans are still waiting for their chance to return to the Modern Warfare games. Is it Modern Warfare 4? Well, it appears as if that is the case. Activision has already suggested the game would be \u201crooted in the franchise\u2019s important history,\u201d prompting speculation about MW4.While plenty of reports had already suggested that the next Modern Warfare game would be coming this year, a few folks have seemingly let the cat out of the bag. First up, Robert \u2018fourzerotwo\u2019 Bowling, formerly of Infinity Ward, told one fan to invest in brown pants after they said that they would shit themselves if the next game was to be Modern Warfare 4. Then, less than a day later, Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota told streamer Nick \u2018NICKMERCS\u2018 Kolcheff that when he \u201cplayed the new one,\u201d at the private test event, it was \u201clike the old Modern Warfare,\u201d referring to Call of Duty 4. There have been a ton of \u2018leaks\u2019 about MW4 \u2013 but some are to be ignored. When will CoD 2019 released? Seeing as we don\u2019t even have an official announcement about what the game will be, it would be pretty hard to have a release date. However, with it being Call of Duty, we can expect the game to be released before the holiday period. Traditionally, we have been able to expect a new title to be released around the start of November. However, Treyarch broke that mold with Black Ops 4 by releasing the game on October 12, the only main entry in the series not released in November. Will it have a single-player mode? Yes, that is not a rumor but confirmed by Activision themselves. While Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 became the first installment to not feature a campaign story, MW4 is set to have all the elements you would expect, including single-player campaign, a large multiplayer mode, and co-op experience. MW2 had one of the most iconic Campaign modes in CoD history. What about a Battle Royale? It had been previously \u2018leaked\u2019 that the next CoD title would not feature a Battle Royale extension, similar to how Treyarch added Blackout to Black Ops 4. Fans have been waiting for Modern Warfare 2 remastered to be released since it was first hinted at back in 2018. Will it finally be released, at least in some capacity, alongside Modern Warfare 4?
