Call of Duty: Warzone to feature 200 player lobbies in the future Infinity WardInfinity Ward has confirmed they\u2019re planning on increasing the amount of players Call of Duty: Warzone can support to 200, a number we first saw in leaks leading up to the game\u2019s launch. Some of the first leaks for Warzone dropped back in February, and 200 player-count lobbies was one of the features that was supposedly coming. That number seemed to be a bit off the mark at release though, with matches only supporting up to 150 players. But it seems developers intend to increase that number going forward. Patrick Kelly, Studio Head at Infinity Ward, told USA TODAY in an interview that they have 200 player lobbies working in the studio, and are currently playtesting the higher player count. \u201cWe brought a number of twists to battle royale,\u201d Kelly told USA TODAY. \u201cI do think the world you play in is going to be undeniably unique. For one thing, we are initially going to roll out with 150 players, when you are typically seeing 60 to 100. Actually, I can tell you we are already playing with 200 players. We are going to release that a little bit later.\u201d With 150 players battling it out on a single map, Warzone is already one of the largest battle royales on the market, at least based on player count. Kelly said devs would be upping the player count to 200 \u201ca little bit later\u201d which doesn\u2019t really give us an exact timeframe for when the update could happen, unfortunately. But the fact it\u2019s already being playtested is a good sign that players could see lobby numbers go up sooner, rather than later. So far though, Warzone seems to be faring pretty well for itself on Twitch, with big names like Dr Disrespect, summit1g, shroud, and more all giving the game a go and (mostly) positive reviews on release. Only time will tell whether or not Warzone will be able to keep players around for the long haul, but offering 200 player lobbies \u2013 something no other major battle royale does \u2013 surely can\u2019t hurt.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
