Clayster benches himself in surprise Subliners swap Call of Duty LeagueJames \u2018Clayster\u2019 Eubanks has revealed he will be taking a shock break from competing in the Call of Duty League, with the New York Subliners star admitting he needs time to \u201cget myself straight mentally\u201d before returning to pro play. Subliners announced Clayster\u2019s move on July 19. New York\u2019s recent results \u2014 especially their 0-3 run in Stage 5 so far \u2014 have been less than stellar, but there were no suggestions team management were looking to make roster swaps before Champs due to that Subliners dip. \u201cPart of the balance of competing at the highest level is knowing when to recharge,\u201d the Subliners wrote in a July 19 team update shared on Twitter. Clayster will be taking a break from competition this week.\u201d Dexerto can confirm roster substitute Conor \u2018Diamondcon\u2019 Johst will be taking the veteran\u2019s place in New York\u2019s lineup for at least the Seattle Home Series. On the swap, Eubanks said: \u201cJust need a break from it all.\u201d \u201cI\u2019m sure you all have seen I haven\u2019t been myself in quite some time, need to take a step back, get myself straight mentally. Gotta take care of yourself over everything, and I don\u2019t plan on this being \u2018for good,\u2019 but I hope the boys crush it.\u201d It is Dexerto\u2019s understanding Diamondcon will replace Clayster for Seattle\u2019s Home Series, and the CDL team will then reassess ahead of Champs. New York is currently fourth in regular-season standings, with 310 points from four stages.
