Clayster responds to Dallas Empire \u201conliner\u201d criticism after CDL Chicago Following the Dallas Empire\u2019s victory at the Chicago Home Series in the Call of Duty League, veteran star James \u2018Clayster\u2019 Eubanks responded to some claiming that the team was only successful online. The Call of Duty League\u2019s inaugural season has been stained by the necessary change to an online format, as teams\u2019 successes or failures now have the \u201conline\u201d asterisk next to them. Dallas Empire just became the first-ever franchise with two tournament victories, but their latest one, coming at CDL Chicago, is being discredited by some fans since it wasn\u2019t played on LAN. \u201cPeople are saying it doesn\u2019t count because it\u2019s online; you can have that opinion, that\u2019s fine, but it doesn\u2019t diminish what we did and it doesn\u2019t diminish the fact that we won the tournament,\u201d Clayster said in response to the criticisms. The two-time World Champion was also quick to remind fans that Empire also won a LAN tournament earlier this season at CDL Los Angeles. \u201cPeople seem to think \u2018oh wow, Dallas the onliners,\u2019 but we won the last LAN tournament there is, we\u2019re the defending LAN champions, and we\u2019ll be the defending LAN champions until the next event.\u201d With the entire 2020 CDL season set to be played online, it would appear that the Empire will indeed hold that distinction until the next campaign.
