Modern Warfare 2 is one of the most highly regarded games in the Call of Duty franchise, and fans have been clamoring for a remaster for years, despite the fact that the game only released originally in 2009. With Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare being remastered in 2016 alongside the release of Infinite Warfare, rumors heated up over when MW2 would get its own next-gen version, and now a reliable leaker has revealed more on the possibility of MW2R. After previously revealing details on Warzone and Gunfight ahead of their official announcements, Okami13 revealed on Twitter that while a remaster is in the works, it \u201cwon\u2019t be a direct remaster of the multiplayer.\u201d This will be incredibly disappointing to players who have been waiting for more news, though Okami did soften the blow slightly. A few days prior to Okami\u2019s tweet, a South Korean rating agency leaked a classification for Modern Warfare 2, but it was only for the campaign, with no mention of multiplayer or Special Ops included. Of course, there won\u2019t be any way to verify this until an official announcement is made \u2013 if one is made at all.
