FaZe Clan is one of the most prolific names in Call of Duty, but things haven’t exactly started off the best for them during the Black Ops 4 season. After closing out CWL Vegas with a lackluster 13th-16th finish, they are now on the brink of missing out on the Pro League altogether after a rough first two days of competition. Things started well enough for FaZe on Wednesday when they brushed past their sister team, FC Black, with an easy 3-0 record. Most importantly, newcomer McArthur ‘Cellium’ Jovel seemed to have fit right in with his teammates after posting some gaudy numbers in the series. Things didn’t go nearly as well in the second match against Enigma6, however, as they fell 3-1 to end the day with an even 1-1 record. Despite the subpar ending to Day One, FaZe had a chance to rebound against Project 18 on Day Two. Unfortunately for FaZe, the woes on the first day carried right into the second day with yet another subpar showing, resulting in a 3-1 loss. While a 1-2 record with three games left to play in their Pool wouldn’t be a death sentence on its own, the fact they still have tough matchups against the likes of Team Reciprocity and Team Sween could spell disaster for the talented squad. Even more than just their losses alone FaZe simply hasn’t looked like a championship contender, something that CWL analyst Anthony ‘NAMELESS’ Wheeler pointed out bluntly during the broadcast. “These guys just aren’t good right now,” NAMELSSS said of FaZe Clan’s current squad. “They have a lot to work on.” .@NAMELESS just went IN on FaZe Clan. :flushed:https://t.co/NKHQSgV6Gh #CWLPS4 pic.twitter.com/exGW1j5TOK — Call of Duty World League (@CODWorldLeague) January 17, 2019 Still, there’s plenty of chances left for FaZe to turn things around on the final two days of Pool Play to give themselves a shot at making it into the Pro League. They’ll need to shore up their play in a hurry, though, as these Qualifiers are the one and only shot at making it into the Pro League. FaZe’s next match is against Team Reciprocity at 6pm EST on Friday, January 18.

FaZe Clan struggle during opening days of CWL Pro League Qualifier Despite getting out to a solid start at the CWL Pro League Qualifier, FaZe Clan has hit a few roadblocks and are now in hot water in Pool A.
