While the road to victory wasn\u2019t as plain sailing as many predicted, the squad did rally to get the victory that was expected. After a convincing win in the Grand Final, members of the FaZe roster spoke with Dexerto and delved into why the event was \u201ceasy\u201d despite a little turbulence in the semifinals. Fresh off of his 3-0 win versus Mutineers, Tyler \u2018aBeZy\u2019 Pharris explained how they managed to turn things around after a close semifinal match against R\u00d8KKR. \u201cWe came out with the fire, we just completely flipped a switch,\u201d Pharris said before acknowledging the crowd\u2019s role in their home series defense. \u201cThe crowd was amazing, shoutout to all the people in the crowd \u2013 those guys are great, can\u2019t thank them enough.\u201d #EZAF superstar @aBeZy explains why this #CDL2020 Atlanta win felt &#8220;&#8221;just as good&#8221;&#8221; as Champs with @eUnited w\/@GFuelEnergy | #DOCGFUELCAN pic.twitter.com\/3DkxYH9LGD \u2014 Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) February 24, 2020 FaZe\u2019s AR, Michael \u2018MajorManiak\u2019 Szymaniak, also took time out to speak with Dexerto following the win. Reflecting back on their path to the final, the 21-year-old claimed that \u201cIt was a little easy,\u201d before continuing: \u201cThat\u2019s expected \u2013 we\u2019re such a dominant team online.\u201d In terms of the team\u2019s recipe for success, MajorManiak put that down to knowing one another for a while alongside all being individually talented in their own right. \u201cWhen you put those things together (and we vibe very well) and we\u2019re fundamentally and mechanically gifted\u2026 I just think we\u2019re a very scary squad,\u201d Szymaniak explained. However, the squad isn\u2019t looking to settle with their home series win, as they\u2019re looking to follow in the footsteps of compLexity and OpTic Gaming by \u201ctrying to be the new dynasty.\u201d &#8220;&#8221;It was a little easy, but that&#8217;s expected&#8221;&#8221; \ud83d\udc40@ATLFaZe star @majormaniak wasn&#8217;t lacking confidence heading into #CDL2020 Atlanta w\/@GFuelEnergy | #DOCGFUELCAN pic.twitter.com\/AFcI0LUJEU \u2014 Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) February 24, 2020 Fresh from his lights-out performance in the Grand Final, Preston \u2018Priestahh\u2019 Greiner explained one of the main contributing factors behind their success to be bringing the \u2018hype\u2019 when it matters most. \u201cFor some reason, aBeZy and Simp just feed off of it,\u201d Priestahh admitted. \u201cIf you hype them up, they\u2019ll pop out three-pieces\u2026 So I started doing that and I\u2019m losing my voice now.\u201d &#8220;&#8221;We were taking them lightly in the beginning.&#8221;&#8221;@Priestahh explains how @ATLFaZe came back from down 0-2 in semis of #CDL2020 Atlanta. w\/@GFuelEnergy | #DOCGFUELCAN pic.twitter.com\/D0doeBWqGX \u2014 Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) February 24, 2020 Of course, FaZe prodigies Chris \u2018Simp\u2019 Lehr and McArthur \u2018Cellium\u2019 Jovel were on fire all weekend long, earning themselves a 1.24 and 1.32 K\/D ratio respectively. Cellium\u2019s efforts in the server were recognized, as he earned himself the MVP award.
