The latest entry in the Call of Duty franchise has certainly delivered, at least on the content front. Fans have already been treated to two mega-sized season updates, and now the third has finally arrived on April 7. Among the new content — which includes a new Warzone-cross-multiplayer operator, maps, vehicle cosmetics, and more — were two new guns: the long-range SKS marksman rifle and the Renetti handgun. Just as Activision promised at the beginning of the Modern Warfare cycle, and delivered on last season, both these new weapons are available to all players for free simply by leveling up this season’s new Battle Pass. Players who don’t want to grind can also instantly obtain one or both of these guns by purchasing their way up the Battle Pass to each gun’s specific Tier. Renetti handgun The Renetti is a “well-rounded semi-auto 9mm pistol” armed with “an alternative three-round burst attachment,” according to the official weapon description. The description goes on to suggest it’s “unassuming, yet deadly.” The handgun shines in “close-range combat,” and has a host of attachments to boot. Prime among them is a new alternative three-round burst addon. As for how to unlock it, the plucky handgun is available upon reaching Tier 15 of the Season 2 Battle Pass’ free content stream, meaning you don’t have to purchase the premium pass to unlock this weapon. SKS marksman rifle The SKS is described as a “lightweight, semi-auto carbine loaded with 7.62x39mm rounds” in-game. Not only that, but the Soviet-style marksman rifle is also allegedly “hard-hitting” and “agile,” sacrificing accuracy for utility. While many of Warzone’s long-range snipers are bolt-action, or relatively slow-firing, the SKS delivers blow after blow with speed. That’s the new guns’ main selling point, and it has plenty of attachments to get the job done too: MUZZLE Flash Guard – Tactical Suppressor – Breacher Device – Muzzle Brake – Compensator – Lightweight Suppressor – Monolithic Suppressor – BARRELS FTAC Landmark – 16” FSS Para – 22” FSS M59/66 – LASER Tac Laser – OPTICS Operator Reflex Sight – Corp Combat Holo Sight – Aim-Op Reflex Sight – Scout Combat Optic – APX5 Holographic Sight – Integral Hybrid – G.I. Faster ways of unlocking the two new weapons While grinding the game and leveling up the Battle Pass is one way of unlocking the new Season 3 guns, there are alternative methods, albeit not free. One way is to buy the Battle Pass Bundle, which instantly unlocks the first 20 Tiers, and, with it, the Renetti. You can then purchase the remaining 11 Tiers to the second weapon at $1.50 each, and acquire the SKS rifle too. There is also, of course, the option to just purchase the whole Battle Pass outright, which would cost about $150 USD, but would unlock all of the Tiers and rewards at once, including these two guns. The Renetti and SKS are, of course, also just small additions in Season 3’s mega-update, which is out now.
