With that in mind, Treyarch\u2019s decision to do away with it seems to be a big risk. A risk that Infinity Ward may not want to repeat for their next game, it seems. Infinity Ward will be making the Call of Duty game that is released after Black Ops 4 and there are already rumors circulating about it being a return to the popular Modern Warfare series for MW4. Now a new job listing for a \u201cNarrative Scripter\u201d with a \u201cstrong interest in First Person Shooter (FPS) Games and a \u201cbroad understanding of both multiplayer and single player game design\u201d has appeared on LinkedIn: The listing hints heavily towards the next Infinity Ward title having a campaign mode but it certainly does not confirm it.With many game developers beginning to include a narrative with their multiplayer experiences, and Call of Duty having a history of co-op game modes, the return of single player is still just speculation.
