JKap and Clayster have been involved in a fairly public feud since the decision was made by eUnited to move JKap to a substitute role, in place of Chris ‘Simp’ Lehr. This came after a disappointing top 16 finish at CWL Fort Worth. Following the announcement of this change, speculation arose regarding how influential Clayster was in forcing the move, with many suggesting that he was largely responsible, while of course it was a team decision. JKap went on to post a number of insulting tweets, referring to Clayster as “the most arrogant and self-centred person” he’s ever met. This prompted Clayster to respond in a YouTube video, talking about CWL Fort Worth and eUnited’s roster changes. The comments about Clayster faking hype were made by Kaplan when he appeared on CoD analyst and ex-pro Anthony ‘NAMELESS’ Wheeler’s YouTube podcast. At around the 9:00 minute mark, Kaplan says that he believes a lot of Clayster’s hype is “manufactured for the camera” and that it’s not genuine. He goes on to say that Clayster “screams after like, random map wins against random teams” and that, whilst he does not want to speak for other people, ex-teammates of Clayster’s agree with what Kaplan is saying. JKap states that this illegitimate hype from Clayster is unhelpful when trying to play with him, and that whilst it’s not a massive issue, it’s something Kap tries to avoid in teammates. He argues this fake hype feeds into a shift in Clayster’s attitude towards competitive CoD, that has occurred since Clayster won his world championship in Advanced Warfare – alongside JKap. “I think he’s started doing it since AW,” said JKap. “Some time since then, he stopped playing for the win, and started playing for the fans”. JKap goes even further with his criticisms towards the end of the interview, stating that fans of Clayster are “pound for pound, more toxic” than OpTic Gaming fans. It remains to be seen how Clayster will respond to this, or whether this will spell an end to the two world champions’ disagreements.

JKap accuses Clayster of “fake hype” and having “more toxic” fans than OpTic MLGeUnited Call of Duty professional Jordan ‘JKap’ Kaplan has claimed that his ex-teammate James ‘Clayster’ Eubanks fakes his hype and that it’s “not genuine”.
