The CWL and MLG commentator spoke about the defending world champions during MLG\u2019s \u201cOpTic Gaming: Defending the Wall\u201d preview video, saying \u201cmy only concern really is when you talk Search and Destroy\u201d. Maven goes on to say \u201cspecifically like clutch moments. They\u2019re not great in the game fives, they\u2019ve been really poor in round 11 type situations. If they can fix that, they\u2019re in a great spot\u201d. OpTic Gaming\u2019s Call of Duty: WWII season has been a series of disappointments and subpar results for a team that was on top of the world for the previous three years. One of the biggest issues for the team, even after swapping Matthew \u2018FormaL\u2019 Piper and Damon \u2018Karma\u2019 Barlow for Sam \u2018Octane\u2019 Larew and Anthony \u2018Methodz\u2019 Zinni, has been Search and Destroy. While still being a relatively strong team in respawn modes, OpTic\u2019s inability to close out Search and Destroy matches, even with huge advantages, has seen the team fall short at numerous competitions. With the 2018 World Championship being the last event of the year, the 2017 winners look less likely than ever before to hold on to the title.
