With Modern Warfare’s second season rolling to a close, and considering last week’s delayed patch added a host of guns and a new map, many were predicting March 31’s update would be a lot smaller in size and scope. Those assumptions have been proven correct, but that doesn’t mean eager Call of Duty fans have been left with nothing. As well as a few April Fools additions, and the return of Snipers Only Gunfight 3v3, a new mode has arrived. Tonight’s playlist update for #ModernWarfare is rolling out now across all platforms! Check out Gunfight 3v3 Snipers, Cyber Attack Pro, and more….😏 — Infinity Ward (@InfinityWard) April 1, 2020 Here’s everything released & changed in the March 31 update: Cyber Attack Pro arrives in Modern Warfare The headlining mode released in the March 31 update is titled ‘Cyber Attack Pro,’ and it looks like a fast-paced doozy. Building on Modern Warfare’s tactical Cyber Attack mode, this Pro variant looks to up the ante again. The twist in Cyber Attack Pro is, instead of needing to revive your teammates, respawns are automatically enabled. This should create “frenetic and fast-paced gameplay,” Infinity Ward explained in their This Week in Call of Duty blog. April Fool’s Day Playlists As well as the new mode, the devs have also, as per usual, embraced April Fool’s with two new playlists, both seemingly focused around Shipment. Shipment is one of the series’ most popular maps, and the first new mode seems to tease the arena. All is not how it seems, however, with the I Have Trust Issues playlist. Instead of Shipment, players are dropped into 24/7 Piccadilly instead. The tip-off comes from the game mode’s description. The tongue-in-cheek info tab reads “Totally Shipment. Come on in. But just so you know, if you quit, there’s a penalty.” For any players lured in, there probably isn’t actually a harsh penalty. The tiny map — built for small engagements — is likely to be overrun with players. There were also a few minor things added in the March 31 update. Players will be able to get double experience, double weapon experience, and will have access to double Battle Pass tier progress earn rates, all throughout this weekend. These double XP activations are available in multiplayer, Special Ops, or Warzone. They will be live across the weekend, from Friday, April 3 at 10 AM PDT, to Monday, April 6 at 10 AM PDT. Players will not need to download anything to take full advantage of the experience boosts, or the March 31 playlist and game mode updates.

Modern Warfare adds new mode & April Fool’s playlists in March 31 update Infinity WardInfinity Ward has released what is expected to be the final Modern Warfare and Warzone update for Season 2 on March 31, and it includes a new game mode, plenty of playlist changes, and plenty of April Fool’s Day fun.
