It has been an unfortunate 24 hours for pro players at the top level of North American Call of Duty, after lots of confidential information has got out as live streams were unknowingly broadcasting. It is believed that the stream of Evil Geniuses player Justin “SiLLY” Fargo was left live and players in the call were unaware, hence speaking freely – not knowing there was an audience listening. This resulted in the first major leak, in which Luminosity player Sam “Octane” Larew can be heard all but confirming that both he and Team Kaliber player Anthony “Zinni” Methodz have joined OpTic Gaming. Unsurprisingly, this quickly spread like wildfire, and despite players’ best efforts to have to clips removed from Twitter and Reddit, the harm was done. And it turns out this was not the only information that was leaked, as another conversation between ZooMaa and Doug “Censor” Martin has now surfaced. In it, ZooMaa is discussing how he was not permitted to leave FaZe – presumably in order to joing OpTic Gaming (this would have been in a trade for Methodz, who OpTic already had the contract of according to Dexerto sources). ZooMaa: “FaZe put fucking locks around me bro. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to leave FaZe.” Censor: “You could’ve, you should have.” ZooMaa: “No, I couldn’t have.” Censor: “You weren’t allowed to leave?” ZooMaa: “No, he wouldn’t let me leave” Censor: “I thought they were going to buy you out?” ZooMaa: “No, because it’s not like a set buy out. Like FaZe, just set, decide the [buyout (cutoff)]” The end of the conversation is cut off, but it sounds as though there is no set buyout amount in ZooMaa’s contract, meaning FaZe Clan were within their rights to refuse any offer from another team (presumably in this case OpTic Gaming).
