Ever since the Riot Shield was introduced into the series, it has been somewhat of a controversial weapon, and this has continued with MW3. Players are trying to find a way to make the shield actually work as something that provides advantages, while also being able to be countered when necessary. Some fans think they have found the solution to the Riot Shield issue. And when laid out, it does make sense. MW3 players have easy fix for Riot Shield A user presented the solution on the MW3 subreddit in a post titled: “Armour piercing rounds should go through riot shields.” Their explanation is simple: armor-piercing rounds should have the ability to pierce surfaces that are far thicker than the Riot Shield. The response from the community has been supportive of this idea, but there is still a fair share of critics. The main thing the supporters think is that the Riot Shield should have some kind of “stamina”, as one user suggests. Others agree that the shield should break after being shot a certain number of times or, as one player says, “… 700 times.” However, several MW3 fans believe the Riot Shield isn’t an issue and that it is more of a skill issue than anything else. Said one person, “Everyone who suggests this is just bad at dealing with shields. You should also never be taken seriously when discussing balance either since your idea of balance is ‘I don’t like this, make it useless’.” They argue that there are plenty of counters available in the game already, like molotovs, semtex, and more. They feel these critics just refuse to use different equipment. “Also you want a counter when like 6 already exist… You just want to shoot them and not need to adjust to anything by this statement.” Of course, this solution is all talk among the community, as the MW3 devs have made no statement about the state of the Riot Shield or planned changes.

MW3 players have one simple nerf to Riot Shields that make tons of sense ActivisionMW3 players are really over the Riot Shield’s defensive capabilities and have a simple fix to make it a viable part of the game.
