The OpTic squad have been involved in a dispute with the eUnited org since Halloween, when the latter changed their Twitter profile picture colors to those of the OpTic, joking that they were dressing up as “a Top 24 Champs team” for the occasion. During the second day of the tournament on November 5, the teams were neck and neck heading into the final few hills of a Hardpoint, when eUnited’s Arcitys complained about lag affecting him, appearing to stand idle in his spawn. With OpTic Gaming winning the Hardpoint thanks to a 5v4 numerical advantage, eUnited suggested replaying the map to declare a fair winner when both teams had their full squad available. Unfortunately for eUnited, OpTic had no intention of replaying the map, citing their rival organization’s social media antics as the main reason as to why they wouldn’t restart the Hardpoint. “Does anyone remember Halloween?” asked Ian ‘Crimsix’ Porter. “I’m making the second map bro. Their whole organization is.” OpTic Gaming’s coach Tyler ‘TeePee’ Polchow was later asked about the incident on stream, and attempted to clear the air somewhat. Asked whether there was any ‘bad blood’ between the teams, TeePee said “it’s a 2K, who gives a fuck. If people are going to get hung up on that shit, in a 2K – like, come on man.” CWL caster and host Clint ‘Maven’ Evans agreed, saying “we were all in discord together like ‘who cares, play or don’t play, just do something.” On the other hand, eUnited’s coach Brian ‘Saintt’ Baroska still held on to the map not being a fair loss for eU, saying they had lost semis ‘1-2’, rather than the 0-3 scoreline.
