While live-streaming some of the Blackout private beta, Crimsix was asked about what his opinions were regarding the heavy rumors and speculation that the format is being changed to 5v5. Nonplussed by the question, the longtime competitor not only predicted that 5v5 would become the standard, but also felt that it would be justified, considering that Multiplayer public matches in Black Ops 4 have already been changed to the same format. \u201cIf pubs are actually 5v5 and not 6v6, and the competitive scene has been playing 4v4, obviously there\u2019s a disconnect,\u201d he explained. \u201cIf pubs are 5v5, there\u2019s no reason why we shouldn\u2019t be playing 5v5.\u201d Crimsix is not the first to draw this conclusion. In fact, the speculation of the format being changed to 5v5 mainly started as a result of the change to public matches. Since then, the rumors have only gotten stronger, leading to more widespread debates within the community on whether a format change would be positive for the scene. Some claim that the decision to switch to 5v5 has already been made, and that some of the community insiders have already been made aware. According to the infamous \u2018CoDBurner,\u2019 OpTic CEO Hector \u2018H3CZ\u2019 Rodriguez and 100 Thieves\u2019 Head of Esports Operations Eric \u2018Muddawg\u2019 Sanders have already been told about the change.
