The UK squad, now based in Las Vegas, were facing off against OpTic Gaming in Sunday’s CMG Prodown event when they fell behind 4-0 in a game of Search and Destroy on Payload. They clawed their way back to 4-4 before finishing up with a 6-4 comeback victory. After dropping their 4-0 lead, OpTic players stopped their pre-round call outs of strategies and tactics – leading some viewers to suggest that the Red players were stream sniping. OpTic players who were streaming the event – Seth ‘Scump’ Abner and Brandon ‘Dashy’ Otell – admitted to using a stream delay of 23 seconds to prevent any sort of stream sniping in Search and Destroy. Although OpTic’s Ian ‘Crimsix’ Porter did not have a stream delay in place and cut away from streaming the game, both he and Scump defended their opponents and stated that Red’s players would not have been stream sniping. Taking to Twitter after the game, Red Reserve’s Matthew ‘Skrapz’ Marshall responded to the accusations, stating: “I’d rather walk on glass for 30 seconds than stream watch in a pro down, this is practice & you guys have seen my set up.” I’d rather walk on glass for 30 seconds than stream watch in a pro down, this is practice & you guys have seen my set up :joyful: — skrapz (@skrapzg) December 3, 2018 However, the Brit couldn’t resist posting an image making light of the situation moments later, showing multiple devices tuned into different OpTic streams! The popular player’s caption simply said: “SIKE” Teammate Rhys ‘Rated’ Price, added: “Are people fucking retarded? ooo I really want to win the CMG Showdown so bad I would stream snipe so I can get to a $200,000 CWL event next week and get fried, dumb idiots.” Are people fucking retarded? ooo I really want to win the CMG Showdown so bad I would stream snipe so I can get to a $200,000 CWL event next week and get fried, dumb idiots. — Rhys Price (@Rated_COD) December 3, 2018 The UK team saw the funny side of the incident despite eventually losing the series to OpTic in a 4-2 map count. They will continue their run in the tournament on December 3 against Team Reciprocity in the losers semi-final. The winner of that match-up will face 100 Thieves in the Losers Finals for a chance to play OpTic in the Grand Finals.

Call of Duty: Red Reserve players respond to allegations of stream sniping against OpTic during CMG ProDown Skrapz | DexertoRed Reserve’s Call of Duty players have responded to accusations of stream sniping in an online tournament.
