R:MLG.FaZe Clan’s Matthew ‘Skrapz’ Marshall and 100 Thieves coach James ‘Crowder’ Crowder expressed their shock after Cuyler ‘Huke’ Garland joined Splyce for ‘free’ from Team Envy. The final rostermania period of the Black Ops 4 season concluded on June 20, with teams locking-in their line-ups ahead of Call of Duty World Championships. A few late surprises came in the window, but there was none bigger than Huke’s move to Splyce. The former Team Envy star joined up with the perennial challengers on loan and sparked the CoD world into a huge debate – fans and professionals alike. Alongside James ‘Clayster’ Eubanks and Austin ‘SlasheR’ Liddicoat, Skrapz and Crowder had been recapping the sweeping changes on the June 20 edition of the Crowder Hours podcast. After recapping the other set of moves, the foursome quickly shifted onto the Team Envy changes and Huke’s departure. “I don’t understand this one,” started the 100 Thieves coach as the podcast changed course to Huke’s move. “How the fuck did Cuyler get on Splyce for free?” It didn’t take long for him to get a reply as Skrapz too questioned the thought process behind it. He jokingly added: “I need to know who’s smoking the good stuff over there bro. I need some of that!” He wasn’t finished there though, as he ramped things up a little further. “Who the fuck would let him go on loan?” The new FaZe Clan player also took issue with the fact that Envy didn’t get similar value in return from Splyce, adding that he was “speechless” because of it. On the flip side, Splyce will clearly be hoping to flip their bargain move into the push they need to reach the summit of CoD esports. So far in the Black Ops 4 season, the North American-European mix squad has come close to claiming victory at a number of events, but have ultimately fallen short. They will have plenty of time to gel through online practice and the remained of the Pro League as they won’t be in LAN action until the competition’s finals in Miami. Teams will converge on Florida in less than a months time, as the playoffs kick off on July 19 to July 21.

Skrapz and Crowder gobsmacked by Envy’s decision with Huke L: Skrapz/Twitter.
