Warzone entered a \u201cnew era\u201d earlier this month, with Raven Software launching the battle royale\u2019s second-ever map, Caldera, alongside a monster Season 1 update. The game\u2019s seasonal shakeup has yet to win over Call of Duty star TimTheTatman, due to one big change: following the December update, Warzone players can no longer get loadout drops until late. Betar claims the loadout nerfs have \u201cruined Warzone.\u201d The problem, TimTheTatman explained, was pushing that \u201cloadies\u201d into the late game sucked Warzone\u2019s biggest strength \u2014 pace \u2014 out of the battle royale. TimTheTatman, like many streamers this month, has been grinding Warzone Season 1 and the tropical Caldera map. While the 31-year-old isn\u2019t as jaded about the update as co-star Dr Disrespect, or top pro Aydan, he still has some major doubts. \u201cMy whole chat says they like it,\u201d the star said, reading. \u201cChat, I ain\u2019t with you on that one, straight up. I am not there. Agree to disagree, kinda thing. [The problem is that] it just feels so much slower, and I really hate that.\u201d He continued: \u201cThe whole reason I love Warzone and why I think it\u2019s such a good battle royale is the pace. You get loadies [loadout drop] early and send it.\u201d \u201cNow, on Caldera, it feels like there\u2019s this weird lull in the middle of every game where I\u2019m waiting to actually full send at someone. I don\u2019t know. I know that we\u2019ll probably get used to it but I promise you people won\u2019t like this feeling. \u201cMan\u2026 you just want to full send every game. That\u2019s what you do in Warzone. This feels really bad, I think if they keep this feeling then it\u2019s kind of ruined, really.\u201d Betar\u2019s biggest fear is Warzone may lose its identity with the change, especially as arch-rivals like Apex Legends and Fortnite lean into their own strengths. That could see another max exodus, the YouTuber warned Raven Software, \u00e0 la the infamous cheater-fuelled exits earlier this year. \u201cI have a gut feeling this is going to drive people away,\u201d he added. \u201cI mean, streamers like NICKMERCS, Doc, they\u2019re not going to put up with this for long.\u201d TimTheTatman did admit he\u2019s more than willing to give the sweeping Warzone changes a chance, especially considering Caldera is a \u201cclean slate\u201d for the game, but is already starting off on the wrong foot either way. \u201cI do have to get used to it, I guess,\u201d he said. \u201cAm I just too dependent on loadouts in this game? I don\u2019t know, I just think it\u2019s a big mistake to make the change. It makes Warzone not feel like Warzone anymore.\u201d \u201cI like the direction the map takes Warzone, hundred percent,\u201d he added. \u201cThe vibrant, bright, jungle theme.
