TSM had little success during their brief stent in the CWL with multiple last-place finishes. However, TSM has succeeded in other ventures like League of Legends and Apex. Since pulling out of the League of Legends Championship Series in May 2023, TSM has been on a downward spiral with mass layoffs. But TSM is not the only one suffering recently, as the CDL has also faced its share of layoffs. This has left CDL fans wondering why TSM is so interested. TSM and CDL make a confusing combo The official TSM account posted to its Subreddit to address fans\u2019 concerns about the current situation surrounding the organization. They express that they still make moves within the esports scene but have faced \u201cchallenges.\u201d \u201cWe want to reaffirm that TSM is still fully committed to esports,\u201d said the post. \u201cAlthough we cannot share many of the finer details of our plans for the future, we can confirm that we are actively looking to participate in multiple Tier 1 esports, including League of Legends, VALORANT, and Call of Duty.\u201d The organization also states that CoD has a \u201cdedicated community,\u201d which they want to be a part of. However, commenters beneath the initial post were not convinced by the statements. Saying that it was \u201ctoo late\u201d for TSM to make statements about joining other esports. \u201cTSM buying into a $25 million dollar spot in a seemingly dying league just to get a middle-of-the-pack team,\u201d questioned a user on the CDL Reddit page. \u201cNone of this makes sense, especially with the history of TSM.\u201d The CDL recently laid off a significant portion of its esports team, leaving a rumored only 12 employees left. Meanwhile, TSM has drastically cut down its staff to a mere fraction of what it used to be.
