Season 3 returned sniper rifles to their former glory in Warzone. The update made it possible for bolt-action rifles to down fully armored players in one shot by equipping explosive ammunition. This applies to the MCPR-300, FJX Imperium, and Victus XMR. However, explosive ammunition doesn\u2019t come without its weaknesses. The ammunition type increases damage range by a whopping 40% but also reduces bullet velocity by 40%. This makes it harder to line up shots, as the rifles suffer from extreme bullet drop-off. And to make matters worse, the devs nerfed explosive ammunition bullet velocity by a further 25% in Season 3 Reloaded. Despite that, players still gravitate towards one-shot snipers, and Metaphor asked why. Metaphor downplays importance of one-shot sniping in Warzone High-velocity ammunition increases bullet velocity and doesn\u2019t suffer the same drop-off penalty as explosive rounds. Metaphor tested high velocity ammunition for one round and concluded: \u201cI want to shout out to the high-velocity ammunition. I truly believe that there is no competition if you are good enough with the ammunition. At extremely long range, you get insane bullet velocity.\u201d Metaphor explained that transitioning from one-shot sniping to a normal build is \u201cquite massive\u201d as players can \u201cshoot people you normally wouldn\u2019t be able to with ease.\u201d The YouTuber believes that using a sniper without explosive rounds is \u201cviable\u201d and could sometimes give players a leg up in certain engagements.
