With the arrival of any new Warzone update, the devs typically bring a big shift to the meta with a round of weapon changes, the addition of new guns, and even adding some new attachments to the mix. The Season 1 Reloaded update for Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 checked all of those boxes, but there has been something a little different this time around. As the devs have been fixing some headaches that popped up in the main update, they’ve also sent out some weapon balancing in hotfixes. That includes the January 23 update which brought about some changes to the AMR9 and a set of MW3’s Aftermarket Parts. Couple them together, however, and you have one of the best guns in the game. Warzone’s AMR9 dominates after January 23 update buff Well, that’s according to Warzone experts JGOD and TrueGameData, who both sifted through the new update to find that the SMG had gotten a pretty nice buff and now has a “crazy” TTK. In the update, the AMR9’s fire rate was buffed, but that’s also helped by the overhaul to it’s conversion kit which improves the bloom too. As per JGOD, it is a “pretty noticeable” change that makes the SMG pretty competitive. According to JGOD’s stats, he has the SMG as having a 576 m/s TTK, as long as you don’t hit leg shots. Doing that is when you actually see the negative side of the AMR9. As for TrueGameData, he added that the conversion kit isn’t a must-use attachment because of the buffs that the AMR9 received anyway, noting that it is “good in all situations” now. Though, the pair both agreed that it is a “slow” gun because of it’s lackluster sprint-to-fire time. That slow sprint-to-fire time can be combatted by focusing on a mobility build for the SMG, but it isn’t limited by that in any capacity. As evidenced by these changes, the battle royale’s meta is constantly in flux, so don’t be surprised to see the AMR9 changed again if it becomes too overpowered.

Warzone SMG gets secret buff with “crazy” TTK to dominate even more ActivisionOne of Warzone’s best SMGs has got a “crazy” TTK after a “huge” hidden buff in the January 23 update, making it even better than it already was before.
