Will Call of Duty: Modern Warfare remove prestiging? Infinity WardPrestiging has long been a staple of the CoD franchise, but new leaks suggest that we may be waving goodbye to the legendary system with the release of Modern Warfare. Prestiging first appeared in the original Modern Warfare game back in 2007, and since then has played an integral part in the franchise\u2019s multiplayer mode, giving players the chance to trade in their current levels to earn a new rank logo and additional items or systems to show as a reward for their efforts. It seems Modern Warfare is set to remove this feature for the first time in 12 years, with popular leaker TheGamingRevolution revealing the possibility in a series of tweets on September 10. Prestiging has been in Call of Duty for over a decade. On Twitter, TheGamingRevolution sent out a message to fellow YouTuber PrestigeIsKey, telling him that he thinks he will need to change his name to \u201cjust \u2018IsKey\u2019, finishing off with the Modern Warfare hashtag. In response, PrestigeIsKey asked TGR to \u201celaborate,\u201d with the YouTuber replying with a GIF showing a man disappearing into the ether, captioned simply with \u201cPrestiging.\u201d How Modern Warfare\u2019s ranking system will work without a Prestige function is unknown, but in a previous tweet, the TheGamingRevolution claimed that the game would have levels 1-55, while Infinity Ward have revealed that your rank will increase across all three of the game\u2019s modes \u2013 Story mode, multiplayer, and Spec Ops. It\u2019s possible that the levels may be much bigger and require more time and XP to move up, thus making the process of ranking up much longer, or they may introduce an entirely new system to replace prestiging. TheGamingRevolution has already revealed the level cap for the Modern Warfare beta, and was the first to correctly leak the game\u2019s 2v2 Gunfight mode. The YouTuber has also claimed that a number of fan favorite game modes will be making a return, and that the game \u201c100%\u201d has a battle royale mode. Of course, every leak should be taken with a grain of salt as it\u2019s impossible to verify their legitimacy.
