Shmee’s car collection is one that could inspire envy in some of the most avid car collectors, ranging from a Ford Focus to a McLaren Senna, to a Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro, so he has plenty of knowledge on cars of all kind – and his opinion is worth something. In his February 20 upload, Shmee gets to have a run-around in Chevrolet’s new baby and explains that there is a significant flaw in the Stingray, even thought it has many impressive features. Running through the internal features of the mid-engined C8, discussing the feel of the different buttons and levers placed around the steering wheel, Shmee begins to analyze the controls, or the buttons on the center console – something he’s not particularly impressed with. “It does strengthen the car, there’s a functional reason for it,” he begins. “But I find it really hard to work out where the different buttons are.” Though these are all buttons you would commonly find in a car – temperature controls, fan direction and speeds for example – he says that the panel “impedes on the passenger’s legroom,” as they would have to rest their knees on the side of it. (Timestamp 16:25 for mobile users) He does say that this kind of makes sense – after all, the C8 is “a driver’s car” and not necessarily designed with passengers in mind. For someone like Shmee, this probably wouldn’t be an issue, but any more casual drivers that are looking for a fresh new drive may want to consider this if they have family or friends they regularly drive with. All this said, the Corvette does clock in at a more affordable price than some of its competitors, and this is something Shmee points out when giving viewers a rundown of the vehicle. The lowest cost 2020 Corvette Stingray would set the buyer back $59,995 but can cost over $110,000 if you want all the bells and whistles included. So while Shmee is evidently impressed with the C8, especially given its cheap price, he clearly thinks there are improvements to be made where the center console is concerned, at least if you’re not a solo driver. Shmee has a few vehicles arriving in his garage in 2020, including a BMW M8 Coupe Competition and a Mustang Shelby GT500, so his standards for what makes a great car may be slightly higher than the average person.

Biggest issue with the Corvette C8 according to Shmee150 YouTube: Shmee150Car YouTuber Tim ‘Shmee150’ Burton has explained what the one big issue is with the new 2020 Corvette C8 – despite how great the car is in almost every other aspect.
