The Rimac C_Two electric GT hypercar has been in planning and production for over a decade now, having been unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show with first deliveries expected at some point in 2020, but spoken about as early as 2008. It boasts 0-60 speeds in under 2 seconds and almost 1900 brake horsepower – more than the Bugatti Chiron, Koenigsegg Regera, and Hennessey Venom F5, three of the most powerful supercars in the world. Top Gear’s Jack Rix got behind the wheel of a prototype C_Two to give it a spin and see what he really thought of it – and for the most part, he seemed thoroughly impressed. Discussing the feel of driving the Rimac masterpiece, Rix was clearly impressed throughout and was evidently enjoying himself and the ride, though he did point it where he thinks the car needs to be worked on. After reeling off the incredible specs of the car, Rix noted: “The first thing to talk about is the acceleration; it’s not quite as explosive out the blocks as you might imagine.” He then went on to add that the C_Two forms “a fantastic basis for a very, very fast car.” (Timestamp 1:40 for mobile viewers) Despite what seems to be somewhat insignificant shortcomings considering how much Rix enjoys driving the car, he does specify that “this is a prototype of the full production machine, albeit one without the full performance unlocked.” Former Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond was among the first to test-drive the earlier Rimac Concept One and subsequently crashed it when filming for Amazon Prime Video’s ‘The Grand Tour’, so maybe it’s lucky the newer car doesn’t have more even more power than it already does. With a $2m price tag and only 150 in the world, you won’t be seeing many of these on the road – but it might begin to enter people’s “dream car” territory as the most powerful electric vehicle on the market.

Top Gear explains why $2 million electric hypercar can still be improved YouTube: Top GearThe Top Gear crew managed to get their hands on the incredible Rimac C_Two electric hypercar, worth $2,000,000 – but explained why there’s still room for improvement, despite the huge price tag.
