Resetti has been in the Animal Crossing series since the first one released on Nintendo 64 in Japan in 2001. His role has mostly been to lecture players if they turn off their system without saving first, popping up from underground in a fit of rage when the game is loaded back up again. Cosplayer Karena from Phalafel Cosplays breathed life into the adorably angry mole with a take that’s so cute, it’ll make fans yearn for New Horizons even more than they do already. Adorable Animal Crossing Resetti cosplay In the games, the cranky mole wears a pair of denim overalls over a white long-sleeved shirt. Karena mimics this perfectly in her look, and even included a speech bubble from New Leaf asking for “BETTER JOBS FOR MOLES!!!” – he worked at the Reset Surveillance Center until New Horizons forced him into redundancy. She also nails his yellow hard hat which he wears while digging his tunnels with his pickaxe – something else she portrayed to perfection as she grips it with her fists and strikes an angry face in true Resetti fashion. Brown netting was also used around the waist to create the illusion of dirt, much like it would look if he burrowed out of the ground to rage at a player who had quit without saving first. The photo was taken by Felix Wong, and it truly helped to bring the character to life. https://www.instagram.com/p/B7JwP6pD5GQ/ In another shot, Karena poses on what appears to be a brown bean bag to really give off that “just popped out of the earth to tell someone off” vibe. Her manic facial expression says it all – don’t mess with the mole. She’s also dressed up as some other Animal Crossing characters such as Isabelle, Tom Nook, Sable, Bianca, and Gracie, just to name a few – so it’s obvious that she’s just as excited for the Nintendo Switch title as we all are. Luckily for Resetti, he is given a new job in New Horizons so he won’t be raising his blood pressure all too much. He’s now in charge of Nook Inc.’s Rescue Service, which players call if they get lost or stuck. https://www.instagram.com/p/B9ZpiIljXpS/ Animal Crossing: New Horizons releases onto the Switch on March 20, after a long seven-year wait since the last mainline game, New Leaf, released on the 3DS. A limited edition console also released to celebrate the new title, as well as a plethora of accessories and peripherals.
