The feisty Nickelodeon heroine was brought to life by the artist’s faithful depiction of the Earthbender. The Last Airbender originally aired on Nickelodeon in 2005 and ran for three seasons. The animation was groundbreaking for the kids network and became a cultural phenomena. A cosplay artist brought one of the show’s most popular characters, Toph Beifong, to life. Her incredibly detailed take on the Avatar master will make you think Earthbending is real. Avatar cosplayer Earthbends as Toph The story follows a monk named Aang who, as the Avatar, is tasked with learning the four elements of Earth, Air, Water, and Fire. On his quest, he meets Toph who becomes his Earthbending teacher. Cosplayer Amy ‘sorel_amy’ transformed into Beifong with her true-to-life-costume. The artist posed in the character’s Earth kingdom attire, and was captured by photographer ‘poor_juli‘ bending rocks. Amy absolutely nailed her depiction of Toph’s look, creating her short black hair which is tied up with a yellow and green hairband. The picture’s gorgeous rock mountain backdrop ties it all together, and it could easily be a scene from the show. https://www.instagram.com/p/B4uo8M3DEPR/ The artist posted more photos of her take on the Avatar character on social media. In another shot taken by ‘dashaocean,’ she hilariously recreated a scene directly from the animation where Toph proudly holds up her wanted poster. In Book 3 of the series, Aang his group have to go undercover in enemy territory and are wanted by authorities. The cosplayer created the heroine’s Fire Nation look with her red outfit, and gold hair piece. https://www.instagram.com/p/B4FkMzQDFew/ The Russian-based artist even had a costume made for Toph’s second season design, when the protagonist first meets her as the daughter of the Beifong estate. She perfectly captures the blind character’s flowing white and green trimmed dress, while wearing her signature flower headband. https://www.instagram.com/p/B4aLwtsDkmi/ The Last Airbender recently had its 15th anniversary in February. To celebrate, Nickelodeon re-released the entire show on Blu-Ray in a collector’s edition box set.
