Windigo CEO suspended on Twitter after sending death threat \u201cmeme\u201d to former player The CEO of Ukranian esports organization Windigo, best known for their CS:GO team, has had his Twitter account suspended, after he replied to a player\u2019s claims of unpaid salary with a death threat \u201cmeme\u201d. Professional CS:GO player Teodor \u2018SPELLAN\u2019 Nikolov, who currently plays for Epsilon, posted a TwitLonger on February 12, claiming that he had not been paid up to 10 months worth of salary from Windigo, nor had he received his share of prize money which he helped win. SPELLAN also accused the CEO of demanding an exorbitant buyout fee for him \u201cso I [couldn\u2019t play elsewhere] while I was in my best [in-game form] ever.\u201d He closed by admitting \u201cI know it\u2019s my fault for signing the contract, I just wanted to share with you!\u201d In response to SPELLAN\u2019s claims, Windigo CEO Maksym \u2018GuunaR\u2019 Bednarskyi posted a death threat \u201cmeme\u201d, which originated from INTZ Esports player Vito \u2018kNgV-\u2018 Giuseppe. In September 2017, kNg told fellow pro Pujan \u2018FNS\u2019 Mehta \u201cyou\u2019ll prove it or I\u2019ll kill you\u201d, after FNS accused kNg and his Immortal\u2019s teammates of being hungover during the DreamHack Montreal grand final, where they forfeited the first map. The phrase \u201cyou\u2019ll prove it or I\u2019ll kill you\u201d has since become a commonly used phrase in the CS:GO community, referencing the kNg outburst, and Bednarskyi posted the phrase in response to SPELLAN. Despite replying to another user to confirm it was just a \u201cmeme\u201d, Twitter doesn\u2019t appear to have taken the post lightly, as Bednarskyi\u2019s account has been subsequently suspended. SPELLAN himself also took the reply seriously, or at least the \u201cprove it\u201d part. He said he could provide bank statements which would corroborate his claims of unpaid salary and prize money.
