After the release of the Ghosts of the Deep in Season of the Deep, Season 22 of Destiny 2 will bring about a reprised raid from Destiny 1. This Raid has been made official as Crota’s End, which was released back during The Dark Below expansion. With all the hype slowly building up for this Raid, we’ve got you covered with all you need to know. From initial details on Contest Mode to an overview on how the race to world’s first all works, here’s the rundown. Crota’s End Raid Destiny 2 release date & start time As confirmed by Bungie, Crota’s End arrives in Destiny 2 on September 1st, 2023 at 10AM PT | 1PM ET | 5PM UTC | 6PM BST | 7PM CEST. Crota’s End Contest Mode in Destiny 2 Like other Raids, contest mode will be active for the first 48 hours, meaning your fireteam will face a greater challenge, but also receive exclusive rewards if you’re able to complete it during this period. Guardians are required to be at 1790 Power to be at the cap for all the encounters throughout the Raid. Bungie is also upping the difficulty of Contest Mode here for a uniquely challenging launch weekend. Here are the highlights: Increased the cap of player outgoing damage vs. combatants. Keep in mind that the incoming damage cap did not change. – Some enemies will gain elemental shields. – All enemies will be more aggressive than in the previous Contest Mode – Crota’s End Rewards in Destiny 2 Bungie has confirmed three weapons will be returning with Crota’s End in Destiny 2, including the coveted Exotic auto-rifle Necrochasm. How to grab Necrochasm in the first 48 hours In order to grab Necrochasm within the first 48 hours, players will need to complete the Bottomless Pit quest from the raid vendor. The Bottomless Pit quest will likely see players complete the raid in contest mode, making the effort well worth the reward. Alongside this, the Bottomless Pit quest will also reward a Husk of the Pit and a fully master-worked Eidolon’s Ally. How to grab Necrochasm after the first 48 hours Players are still able to grab the Necrochasm after the first 48 hours, however, they’ll need to start the quest from the beginning once more. Crota’s End Armor and Weapons According to leaks, here are the other weapons returning with Crota’s End: Word of Crota (Void Hand Cannon) – Swordbreaker (Strand Shotgun) – Song of Ir Yut (Arc Machine Gun) – Oversoul Edict (Arc Pulse Rifle) – Fang of Ir Yut (Strand Scout Rifle) – Abyss Defiant (Solar Auto Rifle) – Crota’s End will also feature its own armor set as well, which will certainly give off a Hive-like aesthetic. Raid armor generally has higher stats, making them more coveted when build crafting. Crota’s End Destiny 2 World First Race Like other previous races that were reintroduced into Destiny 2, there will be a Raid race taking place between some of Destiny’s top fireteams to see who can take down Crota first. This time around, given it’s a reprised raid, the rules are a little different. First up, teams have to complete the standard Raid with Contest Mode active. In doing so, they’ll unlock Challenge Mode. The first team to complete Challenge Mode is declared the winner via the DestinyTheGame Twitter account. Bungie has mentioned that the encounters will be receiving tweaks and alterations to better suit Destiny 2’s sandbox, meaning we may see mechanics being changed around. This could potentially elongate the world’s first race as even veteran D1 players may need to learn the new mechanics. Crota’s End World First Race Streams With all the hype and excitement abound, Destiny 2 content creators will be hopping on to stream their race to taking down Crota. Massive names from the Destiny community like Datto and Sweatcicle will likely be hopping into the ring to fight it out once more. Datto is arguably one of the most well-known Destiny content creators, consistently taking place in world’s first races with his team Maths Class.
