It has a lot of significant effects and some players have been lamenting everything the new players are missing out on. For those who aren’t aware, the Content Vault essentially removes significant chunks of older content. From whole planets to individual activities and minor locations, there is a lot that new players will seemingly never get to experience. Though there is a slim chance these iconic pieces of content could re-emerge, it seems increasingly unlikely. As a result, much of the game’s loot has disappeared alongside their associated locales, never to return. Now, more seasoned Destiny 2 players are sharing their sympathies for players who will never get to experience the magic of the early game. Destiny 2 Content Vault contains some of the most iconic loot In a post on Reddit, one empathetic player shared their sadness over the fact that many of the game’s newer players are unable to enjoy some of its best content. Many were quick to agree and keen to share their own biggest misses: “I miss the underbelly. Getting lost, mini-stealth for chests. If they actually kept Haunted Leviathan as a patrol space and expanded it for the sheer size of the location….we could have had the D2 dreadnought experience!” Another added: “Not just new players that are missing out. Some older players may also have never done any of those raids. Now, because of Fireteam Finder being very easily accessible, maybe they want to have a go but can’t.” Though physical items are undoubtedly a big miss, others pointed toward jaw-dropping moments in time. One said: “I was in another thread where someone posted a video link that showed the entrance of the Leviathan. Someone asked what that awesome-looking area was and it made me big sad that there’s so much cool s**t they’ll never see/do.” Though much of this content will likely never see the light of day again, there are slivers of hope. The emergence of classic areas and raids like the Cosmodrome and Vault of Glass shows that the developer is not entirely against the idea. Whether that means we’re getting Leviathan back at some point is unclear.

Destiny 2 players underline Content Vault’s “tragic” effect on new player experience BungieThe introduction of the Content Vault into Destiny 2 was one of the most controversial moves in the history of the game.
